and i'd love to tell you more about TGOs, although i don't have my notes with me rn so, this might be a bit chaotic !!

TGO comes from "Transgenic Organism" which at it's core is exactly what these characters are (except vei!): the government has this experiment program, established shortly after the deities the people believed in left them, that aims to recreate those lost deities by injecting their genomes into kids no one will miss (children already living in the prison district, kids given up by their parents, or orphaned/acquired otherwise). due to the deities' heavily anthropomorphic forms, those animalistic features carry onto the youth used in the (largely unsuccessful) trials.

so, essentially, a TGO is an individual the government lab has injected divine genes into in hopes to recreate a new god. so far, they've (nearly) managed this only a few times, due to the purity of genes affecting the results and the resistance most peoples' genomes show as they get older (in order to succeed you'd have to have nearly an infant, which IS illegal, and inject said infant with an almost perfectly pure gene). lack of purity also shows in the age most TGOs reach before succumbing to side effects! (spoiler, they rarely reach old age).

which is why people without those genes often wear the furs on their shoulders, they don't carry the gods' protection in their genome nor do they physically have to carry the weight of that on their shoulders !

i hope this helps 👉🏻👈🏻 it'll def make a lot more sense as soon as i get deeper into the story and introduce the rest of the important characters !!!

Last Carnis fact (for today)

So, quick tldr is Carnis is a lab experiment created with both human and cow dna to be a food supply and organ donor for the public. They heal at an insane rate and are effectively immortal. This project was later disbanded and all test subjects after Carnis were executed or moved to secret locations.

Now, you may ask how Carnis' siblings were able to be killed. The older Carnis grew, the more violent they became. Scientists saw the danger and basically installed a killswitch in later successful subjects where if their brains were damaged in one specific spot - they die for good.

Carnis came before this decision and therefore they are the only true immortal. Carnis is not aware of this, saw the deaths of their siblings and also believes they'll die if something happens to their head/brain.

The most beloved version of Batman, to my knowledge, is the one from Batman: the Animated Series/Justice League Unlimited. While that is in part due to Kevin Conroy's (rip) performance, but more importantly the fact that this version of the character has these short but very emotional moments with other characters.

Harvey Dent is explicitly introduced as Bruce's friend, with a very painful spiral into Two-Face, followed up by a plotline where Bruce tries to reintegrate him into society, which heartbreakingly fails.

He even treats villains without any personal connection with respect, especially the more tragic cases.

Baby doll, Calendar Girl, Mr Freeze, most impactfully to me Ace in JLU. A reality bender, a literal human weapon of mass destruction, actively dying which threatens to destroy an entire city and Batman is giving the task to neutralise her. But instead of using the very convenient and "humane" Killswitch given to him by Amanda Waller (ie. the person responsible for her current state), he chooses not to. She is a frightened little girl, turned into a monster by the government, so he does the right thing, he approaches her, calmly, listens to what she has to say, and stays with her until she dies, peacefully.

These moments are so important because they add the one thing most other stories these days lack so dearly, humanisation. It's such a simple way to grant characters so much more depth. And here's where the fans do such a phenomenal job, they create hundreds if not thousands of these moments, not just for Batman and the Batfam, but for every other piece of media, inadvertently, through the death of the author, elevateing characters from maybe mediocre or decent to true greatness. Of course not everyone adds to this, to the same degree but neither do multi milion dollar projects.

I wish it could be implemented into "cannon" media but time and page constraints but it still urcs me to no end that barely any writers add some humanising elements to their storys.

meets an encouraging, patient, fatherly commanding officer that chooses tucker specifically for an assignment and takes him under his wing. he’s actually a secret operative for a sinister military project recruiting tucker as a target practice guinea pig orchestrating the next couple years of his life to be a lie.

meets an alien that tells tucker he’ll help him fulfill the quest he’s the legendary hero of. he chestbursts him and steals a getaway vehicle given upon the “end” of the quest.

meets some weird computer program programmed by the culture the prophecy came from, pretty much the only remaining source of information about this “quest” that’s upended his life. it’s actually the ai of the freelancer trying to kill him and kidnap and use his kid to end the great war… uh, with slavery of the alien species

meets one of his best friends, an acquired taste and kind of an ass, but they give each other as good as they get and they’re a team. she leaves them to make the plan to capture junior and use him to enslave his species succeed. and tucker feels like can’t even be mad about it without feeling guilty because in her mind she was sacrificing herself and junior to save humankind from a losing war for survival, and immediately after he thinks she fucking dies and takes his kid with her!! they were friends and then for a few minutes they were almost enemies because she did the worst thing for the best reasons and then that’s it!!! how do you even grieve and process that. apparently tucker opted for watching reservoir dogs instead of therapy and i can’t blame him. that’s not the sort of grief you can find a self-help book for. HELLO I’VE BEEN SCREAMING FOR YEARS. never over it they make me insane.

meet some humans on the desert dig-team, charismatic down-to-earth soldier guys. breath of fresh air after he’s been stuck for months in complicated political situations with a species that has just recently decided to perhaps not kill all humans, as a reluctant religious figurehead in diplomatic corps that i’m sure just loved his way with words and women. bet he made a lot of friends there. the dig team kills them all except him and he proceeds to spend the next months in a psychological thriller slash survival horror.

meet church again. church leaves again (and then again) and tucker’s left furiously picking up the pieces of blue team with caboose and some blond guy they rescued from the pound. we needn’t talk about that blond guy and whether tucker knows he both set up and hit the Original Church Killswitch lest tucker doesn’t know and hears us because i think he doesn’t need that extra complication in his life tbqh.

meets a charismatic mercenary with a rough exterior, but a heart of gold, right when tucker and caboose have lost all of blue team’s charismatic mercenaries and/or assholes with a rough exterior but a heart of gold. he. well. he stabs him in the back, guys. you know. i can’t get more on-the-nose than that.

meets church again. he seems like maybe he kind of gets that he was an ass and won’t go off killing himself this time. immediately after reconciling he sees the siren call of martyrdom and kills himself instantly after simulating several ways it could go very, very extremely badly for tucker, not even counting the previous evidence from how this went for some blond guy (sorry i’m committed to just calling him some blond guy in this post now for no reason except that i think it’s a mildly funny bit).

meets church someone else who’s been fucked over by project freelancer. he’s been manipulating them to get close enough to freezermurder their friends and implicate them in terrorism charges.

meets yet another young stray asshole with Issues and a heart of gold who needs some guidance, maybe someone he can be the kind of a leader he wishes he could have been to green team. she also stabs him again.

at some point we have to let tucker just start stabbing people. like a lot of people. i don’t think he’d enjoy a villain arc once he realizes that’s what’s happening but he deserves the sheer free joy and clarity of just solving problems with pure simple stabbing before he comes to that realization.

the heart of the alliance is in a more isolated region of the world the geography once protected them from the great famine allowing them to recover faster they are now an economic powerhouse much of their military comes from either private militia or overseas mercenaries

so this whole thing started with me telling my friend about a loophole/ exploit in dnd 5e 2014 rules that allowed for free revives with the slightest ethical drawback of a dude having to die every time which led to what if that got weaponized which then led to what fucked up world would need to do that? This cross between Bane, big daddy and rat ogre was named the Killswitch hence the working name.

Honestly I haven't talked about it... At All here because I'm afraid I'll be fucking crucified for it but, this is my blog and my portrayal and I do what I want so! I want to talk about Perceptor and Brainstorm's relationship here for a minute and why I hate don't think s*mpatico works.

As a note: Brainstorm isn't my muse, he's not My Guy, but I do love a good analysis.

Anyways, that aside, the problem I have with it first and foremost is that Perceptor isn't even part of the equation. He has very little of a role in their dynamic and a lot of it comes from Brainstorm and his hangups. All these problems they have with each other aren't even necessarily Perceptor's fault.

There is, I feel, a major class divide between them. Brainstorm was cold constructed, a fact he kept private from everyone, even Chromedome, until the Killswitch. The one exception to this rule would be Nautica, who he even told his original name. Because of this, he has MASSIVE self esteem issues. He begins working at Kimia, and he most likely worked his ass off to climb in the ranks as much as he could.

Enter Perceptor, who, by pure circumstance, ends up on Kimia to work on Kup alongside Brainstorm. This is the one time they worked together. We don't know how well they worked together, but based on Perceptor's major reservations and distaste for the project, it wouldn't surprise me if he ignored him for the most part. Not off to a great start.

They leave Kimia and... oh what do you know, Perceptor is assigned to watch over the guy you just worked on. What do you know, Perceptor gets the credit for your shared work. And, while the alternative ended up being quite terrible for Perceptor, I can only imagine Brainstorm was bubbling with jealousy over the fact he was sent with Kup in what Seemed a highly regarded position.

POV: You're Brainstorm, this guy comes in, he's a microscope, he was forged, he is doing what he was meant to do. High Command recognizes his work. They let him go on missions. You're left on Kimia.

Anyways, fast forward a few years and you're really high up in Kimia, you're both notorious and respected. You have a team that works under you. This is your time to shine. And then that damn microscope comes back, and in the span of NINE MONTHS he's not only either On or working hand in hand With the ethics committee, but he was also the one who was requested to go study Megatron. What The Fuck. You're getting kinda sick of this guy and you've interacted all of once. People keep comparing you to him. What The Fuck x2.

A bit later you join the Lost Light, you think, okay maybe I've finally escaped this guy's shadow. GUESS WHAT! HE'S HERE TOO! AND HE'S BEEN MADE THE CHIEF SCIENCE OFFICER!! Not only that but the majority of your old team is onboard the Lost Light, and they get transferred to working under this guy! What The Fuck x3!

So... what do you do? Well, anything any well adjusted person would do: You hinge your entire self worth on one-upping this guy and act out as much as possible until you surpass him. You even try pushing his boundaries to see if that'll get anything out of him.

And this guy barely even gives a shit about you. He barely even knows you exist.

Anyways. All this to say: I do not think they get along, I do not think they're even friends, and I especially do not think they would enter any sort of relationship.

I won't bore you all with the gritty details but some things irl have become increasingly taxing to the point where it's taking a massive toll on my mental and physical health. I apologise for the lack of content and art but I also don't want to half-ass the project and rush it just for the sake of progress. Killswitch is my passion project and it means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate all the love and support I've received this past year! I'll still pop in now and again but it won't be consist. “Let’s Begin!” He said, his voice projected outside the armor with a voice changer that made him sound more demonic. He began to charge the plasma cannon and aimed it at the front door to the school.

“Do not fire INTO the school Shozo! I want no civilian casualties.” Sae warned him.

“Oh come on! Kids in America get to shoot up their schools all the time! When am I ever gonna have another chance like this?” Shozo shouted back over the radio.

“Shozo, the suit does have a killswitch. If you disobey my orders, I will use it” Sae warned him.

As an American it's fuckin dark but sometimes you gotta laugh at how edgelord it is.
