How did theater Au Xigbar get his scars and such?

Xigbar actually joined the military right out of high school—he was in a. not exactly culty but definitely "tight knit" and pretty conservative church environment. he realized the kind of fucked up shit he was being asked to participate in and dropped out shortly after (and transitioned afterwards and was disowned by his family) but he did see active duty and is...cagey about whether or not he killed people. (not in a "hee hee wouldnt you like to know" kind of way, in a "hey. thats a fucked up thing to ask. dont ask again" kind of way.)

thats not how he got the scars though lol. he dropped out of the military with his pretty body perfectly intact and then accumulated scars and injuries in freak accidents afterwards.

i think ive decided he still got the face scar and missing eye right before joining the Org, and still got them from Terra, but due to timeline stuff and there not being any magic in this AU, terra was literally like. a tweenager. when that happened. i havent decided the specifics but it was some kind of accident that was terra's fault. (part of me wants it to have been a thing where xigbar was saving terra's life? but ive already softened his edges a lot for this AU so that feels like laying it on a little thick.)

Funny note about me suddenly being more openly passionate about lamias:

But, like... every very sudden once in a while, I get this "predator brain" impulse. And in those moments, lamias are all that I can think about

I seem to like projecting on the idea of a hybrid kind of lamia, that has the serpentine body of an African bush viper, with the tail ending of a rattlesnake. The human half is brown like me, but with pointed ears, and longer black hair that's either kept loose, or is tied back into a ponytail. The serpentine scaling will most likely extend into her human half; to what extent, I'm not sure just yet, but it might be covering everything up to and including her neck and minus her chest and stomach, leaving just her head/face, chest, and stomach down to her hips covered in human skin. These scales are tough, allowing her to take hard/sharp blows with minimal impact as if she were wearing armor.

She's wearing something light and easy to move in (maybe adjacent to a belly dancer's outfit, in black and antique gold), and is also kitted out with antique golden jewelry for vanity reasons. She's got teeth like a vampire's to showcase the marriage of her human and beast parts (all normal human teeth, but with sharper/more pronounced upper canines; those canines are where her venom flows to, and they don't retract since visible fangs are The Best), slitted golden eyes, a forked tongue, and sharp black nails (she's okay with melee weapons, but her combat preference stays at "hands, claws, and biting, with uncommon constricting").

She's also trans, has a small chest, and has defined/toned abs and arm muscles, of course, since this is me my hard projection that we're talking about. I just want her to have a body that's strong enough to do constricting, if deemed necessary! No thinly-veiled thirst motivations behind this choice at all.

The snake half is more along the lines of the colors/scales of the bush viper here (black scales + alternating black and yellow underbody), plus the rattle tail ending:

She's wearing jewelry on the tail, too, that's tied into the bottom-most notch there, that can be loudly and aggressively jingled about and clashed together as the tail is being shaken. Not sure what kind of jewelry, but something stringed/tasseled comes to mind.

She's long as fuck, by the way. To the song and dance of this visual:

So, like... picture this. If you will.

The enemy or target's been spotted, and now she's rearing up nice and horribly tall while hissing and bearing those sharp claws and teeth, all while there's a mix of heavy and rapid rattling and loud metal scraping and clanging behind her that all together are disheartening, distracting, and disorienting for whoever is standing in front of her, but is practically like a heart-racing and blood-pumping hybrid war song and battle cry to her for what's about to happen next. All the while, her eyes are locked on theirs, and she's got that confident, ruthless grin painted on her face, as if this fight was set to be the high point of her day.

And, because I exist for music, she fights to this song. Or, this song. I often choose either one of these two songs for exercising with kickboxing (to the point where I manually extended both of them to play on a nonstop loop for an hour, just so they last for the whole routine), so they always gets my blood rushing by default. And, with that scene description up there, it'd feel more like you're fighting a dragon rather than a serpent.

Do you get it. Do you see what I'm putting out there. Being a bunnygirl is nice and all, but I very badly want to be her, too. If I could draw, I would absolutely detail this as a sona for myself. But, at this rate, I might end up feeling enticed enough to just try and doodle her, anyway.

Wish 2: The Land of Dreams

Did some designs for how our main characters would appear in my hypothetical sequel. First and foremost of course we have Asha and Star, both learning to come to grips with being Magical/Human Shaped respectively, and seeping their relationship as they journey together through the ever shifting Land of Dreams on the Quest Queen Amaya gives them to find the long lost heir of Rosas…

Then there’s the Heir herself, Princess Maroula. A powerful sorceress in her own right, who a century ago defied her father to undertake her own Quest at the behest of The Blue Fairy, to protect the Land of Dreams against a the fearsome Lamia. For wishes and dreams are deeply connected. Maroula has made many allies in the Dreamlands, but her closest is the magnificent stag Selenos. Together they’ve managed to keep Lamia’s corruption at bay, but no one can battle forever…

And Lamia has recently found herself a new ally, one as deeply connected to dreams and wishes as her enemy is, and the best bet she has at finally overcoming Maroula. Of course the desperate, angry ex-monarch she plucked from the liminal slack of a mirror prison doesn’t need to know the foe she’s using his power to fight is his own daughter. Especially not when a couple of his own hated enemies show up at just the right moment to focus his attentions…

You know what, screw it. Time to be "horny" on main. And by horny I mean... Admitting to another bloody project. And low-key asking suggestions... Over a smut project...

Basically a 75% "hardcore" smut (or at least as hardcore as I can)/25% slice of life/comedy (I have so many memes kicking around in my head over this idea)... Centered on a massive poly ship consisting of monsters (both mainstream interpretations and DND specifically) all/mostly centered on the (fem) human reader. Basically its a set-up similar to Monster Matsune: My Life with Monster Girls, but a healthy... enough... poly ship. In a massive generational house (if you've never seen/heard of one, each floor is basically its own house with 2-4 bedrooms, 1-3 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room, and outer hallway to avoid suddenly climbing the stairs into someone's living room).

Scaly Isekai Soon...ish

I am just hammering out some of the final bits for Help! I Got Isekaied as a Lamia!!, HIL, before I release the first demo. Atm I am mainly focusing on spelling and grammar with a few tweaks to the first few chapters. There are some features that will not be available on the demo release however, mainly the unique look I want to give the menus and certain characters speaking.

I have plans for the menus to look like the kind of System screen that frequently pops up in isekai, as a special section with details on the world itself as well as sections for each of the characters the MC will meet. While most of the people the MC meets can not access the System, or "Babe" as it comes to be called by the MC, directly this does not make the MC super overpowered like it does in some isekai. Yes, it's a boon, but not an overpowered one and not one unique to the MC.

But my plans for this means I need to find an artist I can work with to help design these menus, as well as one for the character images that will be in the character profiles. So all these will not come until much later in development since I will only be able to afford these once every few months. But if it all works out HIL will look amaaaazing.

The first demo drop itself will come sometime in September, along with updates for a few of the other projects on my plate. At least I hope, so long as nothing interrupts life.

Elyan was the first to realise. 

"Gwen?" He rode forward and brought his horse into step beside his sister.

"Yes, Elyan?"

She looked at him cautiously. He was staring down at his right hand, and she noticed he'd removed his glove. It took him a few seconds to raise his head and face her.

"What happened to Merlin?" 

Gwen felt her chest constrict at once because though Elyan and each of the knights had already asked her that same question that morning, none had done so with the expression her brother wore on his face now. Like he already knew the answer. She bit her lip and her eyes flicked from Elyan's face to his hand and back. There were grazes along his knuckles. Elyan saw her glance at the grazes and looked even more stricken than before.

"Gwen, how did I get these?"

The Significance of BlackWing Names

ok just allow me to monologue about the genius of BlackWing’s codenames for their subjects and why the writers are so clever.

Some of them, like Project Lamia or Project Incubus, don’t have too much meaning but sound really cool. But then there’s…

Project Marzanna, Goddess of Death

Bart’s codename in BlackWing is “Marzanna” who is a winter goddess from Slavic mythology seen as a symbol of death and disease.

This is such an impactful choice for Bart, since she is so in sync with the universe as to be almost like a goddess, and is literally a harbinger of death. But she has to learn to see she is more than just that symbol.

Project Icarus, who flew too close to the sun.

Dirk’s codename is an obvious nod to the famous story from Greek Mythology. Icarus tries to escape from the prison he’s been kept in, only to fly too close to the sun the moment he’s escaped, burning his wax wings and dropping himself into the sea below, where he drowns.

Choosing Icarus as a symbol for Dirk is genius. Dirk escaped from his prison (BlackWing) and deals with a lot of fear out in the real world. He loves taking on cases, but he fears hurting people. Particularly in season two, Dirk sees more and more people die, and he blames himself, blames his involvement, blames his strange connection to the universe. And Dirk has to ask himself, should he take cases at all? Is even being here, away from the labyrinth, risking it all? Have I already flown too high?

I also think it’s worth noting that Dirk is a reference to a story about a prisoner’s melting wings, being stopped mid-flight… and the one’s controlling him are black wing.

Maybe Dirk also represents their downfall.

Project Moloch, a child’s sacrifice

Francis was a child with magical abilities who was kidnapped by BlackWing. This terrified him and sent him into a deep coma, locking himself into the perpetual childhood of Wendimoor, where he remained for the rest of his life. Through his sleep, the years of his childhood slipped by, until they were gone completely, and Francis was an old man near the end of his life.

the name “Moloch” comes from the Bible, the name of a god of child sacrifice.

This is genius for Francis’ character, since he only ever wanted a childhood. It was taken from him - sacrificed to blackwing - but through wendimoor, he got it back.
