Log D-1

This is the start of my logs regarding a phenomenon I have yet to find words for, but the current date is August 23rd. I... still don't understand why we- just- still keep track down here... That's besides the point. The main focus of this new string of logs is to document my findings. Yesterday I started a 24 hour test for mollah, since someone was concerned about their child having it. Which, it turned up negative, but... But there was still some kind of change in the cells. That. That doesn't happen. Especially not in monsters, since whenever body cells are extracted and the person uses magic, that- that doesn't use the magic from extracted cells. There's no interconnection. Even then, the changed cells in the petri dish don't... they don't have magic in them. Or- Well. They don't have monster magic in them... Or human, considering the tests I've done on scarred tissue as results of human magic, which rendered our healing magic useless. These cells were normal before, as no mitosis or meiosis occurred, and... Well, and cells don't just pop up and go poof... I dont know how else to describe them, though. It's nothing I've ever seen before. I might call the patient back to the office so I can do a second test... Hopefully there aren't similar cells like this regularly. Though, similar cells or not, I don't.. I don't have a good feeling about this, if I'm being honest. Maybe Undyne is right and I need to sleep more... But, I have too much to do. I can't waste any time. This is Dr. Alphys, and that concludes my findings.

Game Theory About Who Professor Victoria is

This evening, we just recieved one final TailsTube to close out the year, and within this episode was a cameo from a character many have speculated on for over a year now, and I believe this piece of the puzzle will help us solve SEGA's game of Where's Waldo

Professor Victoria

Or just Tori, has been a thorn in the community's side since 2022, where she first appeared in the official social media series, Tailstube, alongside various humans from Sonic Unleashed. Since then, she's made a cameo in the 3rd Sonic Movie and tonights episode. Many were quick to believe she had ties to the then upcoming Sonic Frontiers and its new addition to the cast, Sage, but this wouldn't be the case.

Her Many Appearances

Examining her first appearance, she's depicted not in the Sonic Unleashed style, but rather Yuji Uekawa's artstyle (note her smaller head and overall lack of western stylization). This style is so rarely used nowadays, instead Sonic Team opting to use their 3D models and on this rare occassion, it's only in merchandise. Why would SEGA randomly revive it for a random addition like this?

Her next appearance would be in the 3rd Sonic movie, showing up during Team Sonic's initial encounter with Shadow. This would both be the first time we saw the name Victoria associated with her, and act as a teaser for tonights TailsTube.

What's also worth noting is this is the 2nd time the films have acknowledged TailsTube, with movie Tails' desktop being pulled straight from the series. Clearly whatever they have planned for her expands outside the Sonic games.

and then there's today with the release of TailsTube #10, solidifying her as Prof. Tori: Historian and author, 2 aspects of her character that combined with the nugget of lore Shadow Generations gave us, has lead to me forming my crack theory of the evening.

Taped on the back of the cover to Gerald's Journal is a note left by someone simply known as T. Who is T? A new character? A returning Topaz from Sonic X? No.

The Actual Theories

so, we now know Professor Victoria is a historian/author who may have or had connections to GUN, collecting material for past projects such as the Space Colony Ark and Project Shadow, depicted both in a artstyle SEGA doesn't often use and within the Sonic Movies, having some notoriaty to be on billboards. From my findings, I've boiled it down to three possibilities of when we could see her finally debut.

1. GUN member/Team Dark's Coordinators/Robotnik(?)

This seems like the most logical, with GUN having a resurgance in Sonic 3 and Shadow Gens. We also don't know what's up with GUN after the Eggman wars in Sonic Forces, where they went under following the doctors takeover.

Perhaps with Sonic Frontiers' successor, we'll see the remains of GUN researching the Starfall Islands with Team Dark leading a exhibition. It could be a way to explain what ties the Black Arms could have to the ancients that led to Shadow visiting Chaos Island, AND many have speculated that she just might be a Robotnik, particularly, Maria's little sister alluded to in Gerald's Journal, bringing it all full circle.

That said, we have yet to see much of any continuity in the games, and it's a element in Sonic's greater storytelling I'm not sure SEGA would integrate now when isolated adventures have been the series' bread and butter for years, give or take a small nod to the fans. Why mess with success knowing any game could be someone's first?

2. Remake/Remaster Side Campaign

This one I have little faith in, but there's a slim chance. We now know SEGA isn't against adding new story content to re-releases of Sonic games with Shadow Gens, so perhaps Tori will get her start in a new campaign?

Perhaps she was a author studying the mythology of Sonic's world before GUN, residing at Spagonia University with Professor Pickle, someone we saw in that TailsTube art collection. That then raises the question though: Why go through this much trouble for a simple port of a Xbox360 game? Putting her in movies and setting expectations this high? It doesn't make sense, but that's where my main theory comes into play.

3. Sonic Lorebook

Call me crazy, a schizo, desparate for answers, whatever, but I'm fairly confident SEGA's apology for the Sonic Encylcospeedia may come very soon.

For those unfamiliar, in 2021, SEGA released a encyclopedia for the Sonic series. What many hoped would be a answer to all the continuity errors over the years and a clear outline of the SEGASonic universe turned out to be just a booklet of game facts, modded screencaps of Sonic 06, and offhand lore tidbits like Infinite being dead and Marine possibly having hydrokinesis, something I'm sure we'll see explored soon big trust.

The release of this book left many with more questions than answers, but I think it and Sonic Frontiers are the first in a major domino effect.

With Frontiers, we saw its writer, Ian Flynn, go a little wild with callbacks to previous Sonic games. While one may see this as leaniance on SEGA's end with the game initially set to launch that same year for the series' 30th anniversary or Ian Flynn being Ian Flynn, I see both as the early groundwork for reinstating of the Sonic continuity. Combine that with what we know of Tori, the establishment of a lore management team in 2022 (who just recieved a artist with Evan Stanley), alongside relaunching Sonic Gens which explored the series' history with DLC that gives us the most overt crossover of the game universe to the movies, and you have a recipe for a broader audiences entry to one hell of a history.

I believe within the game universe, Professor Victoria will be a well known historian, researching gods and anomolies within throughout the galaxy and multiverset. Meanwhile for us, she'll be the mascot of the IRL Sonic the Hedgehog Lore Management Team, and will be our guide for the long awaited true encyclopedia of the Sonic the Hedgehog series; Every character, every historical event, every world. All explained and outlined for a general audience and fans consumption.

Audiodrama Sunday 12/15/2024

Happy audiodrama Sunday! Once again, I started a new show and got pulled in enough that I didn't listen to everything new this week. I also spent less time than usual listening to audiodramas. I'll catch the new Starfall next week.

@storiesfromylelmore - It's back from the hiatus! I'm so happy! “Dragons are the only spirits with bodies” is very cool, I loved all the worldbuilding in this episode. Keryth being able to eavesdrop on a landline because she breaks newer phones, and having to explain that to the others, is so funny. I love that the Oracle knew what they were doing and let them get to the dragon, I guess she knew they were harmless.

Give Me Away - I started this show this week after seeing a recommendation on Tumblr. I'm enjoying it, it really hooked me. A totally transparent government organization is by far the most unrealistic part of this show, far more than the aliens that need to live in your brain to escape the torment nexus.

@lostterminalpod - Season finale! The stuff about batteries and power were very cool, I love how much actual science is a part of this show. 50 Meg is so badass.

@worldsbeyondpod - Man, having to eat horses is so much worse when half the party can talk to animals. Suvi giving her boyfriend her namecloak was somehow less romantic than when she gave it to Ame. I will never give up on Glassheart even though it will never be canon.

@midstpodcast - And we finally learn Cleo’s deal. She’s the runt of the family. I care so much about the relationship between Cleo and Dot.

Rude Tales of Magic - I really like how they’re doing recaps this campaign. So Ulysses is literally Jesus and he got flushed down a toilet as a baby? That fits with the tone of this show honestly.

@project-daydream - We learned so much about 48 in this episode, but there's still so much we don't know. How was she involved with 06 before 06 joined? Also she seems to remember her childhood. Has she not gone through the process that the rest of the agents did.

@goodmorningevildoers - I really liked the direction this show has been going. I guess Winifred is some sort of ageless inhuman being.

@brimstonevalleymall - Xaphan and Belzagor oh no. So much drama! The teens are all such endearing characters.

Case Study IREC-A59 - It was interesting to learn how humans are different from most other species in this episode. I love how it feels like every episode of this show has been covering a different difference between humans and aliens. Last episode was religion, this one is biology.

Spout Lore - The gang struggling to sneak into the hotel room was so good, I was giggling the whole time. The aiding an aid followed by immediately aiding an aid again.

also, i said this in the tags of my op but not in the post itself-- huge shoutout to fairy rave and the @mcyt-archives project. if you're interested in archiving, there's a public discord server there for the qsmp archiving project (and, mostly in the past, dsmp/origins/starfall). if you're interested in archiving for lifesteal, you can also hmu and i can probably get you an invite to the lifesteal archivist server (although that one does not have a public link, I have already gotten an invite for someone on this post who was interested). unfortunately i don't know how to get involved in other archiving projects bc i don't know people currently working on them, but there is always "looking for people who archive the servers you're interested in, and then messaging them to see if you can help with archiving"--in my experience, there is usually room for more people helping!

i've seen a lot of people talk about mcyt as a constantly burning library of alexandria recently, and to some extent that's true. people are constantly deleting their blogs, going scorched earth with animatics, fanfics, etc., that they made. but i've also seen people (three in the last few days!) make this claim about VODs, when talking about large fandoms like DSMP and QSMP, and.... guys. that was true in 2020. that's not true anymore. archivists have been working tirelessly for years now to make sure that isn't true.

the dsmp VOD masterlist is here. in november 2020, it's missing 16 VODs, if i am counting correctly--which is still a fairly small minority, but it's a lot, and it sucks!--but in november of 2021, it's missing one, and that's because the cc of that VOD does copyright takedowns, not because the archivists didn't save it. no one in the archivist project is deleting VODs off youtube with no backups the way people are deleting fanfics. three months ago, one of my dsmp archivist friends finished coding a tool that let them reconstruct VODs out of twitch clips, and reconstructed six tubbo dsmp VODs from 2020. not only are we basically not losing VODs anymore, we are actively gaining VODs that have been lost for years, that were thought to be lost forever. the library isn't burning anymore; it's being rebuilt.

the qsmp VOD masterlist is here. it is usually a month or two behind the present day, to give creators time to archive their own VODs, but... look at it. in january of 2024, every single qsmp vod was archived. the same is true of december of 2023, and november, and the vast majority of months for the past year.

i'm not going to say that there isn't a problem. just a few days ago, i realized that a lifesteal VOD from last year was missing--that its youtube upload was messed up somehow, and no one noticed and it wasn't mirrored on the internet archive and the person who uploaded it deleted the original file. and now it's gone forever. this made me super sad! like i said: i'm not going to say that there isn't a problem.

but... look at the lifesteal VOD masterlist here. lifesteal's a smaller fandom than qsmp or dsmp. open the 2022 tab and you'll see months and months of lost VODs, of no one's VODs being saved, because there weren't any archivists saving them. then open the 2023 tab and see: they lost four VODs, over the course of a year. even in smaller fandoms, archivists are working. they're making progress. they're saving VODs. in 2024, lifesteal archivists screenrecorded five streams on tumblr live to make sure they would not become lost media. mcyt may be a constantly burning library of alexandria, but the people with fire extinguishers are dedicated. they're making incredible progress. i know people with petabytes of VODs saved, who have spent money on extra storage for this. i know people who are constantly running up against their storage limits as they download/upload to the internet archive/delete for space/rinse and repeat. a decent fraction of the time, my internet at home is slow because it's downloading VODs.

and these aren't the only mcyt fandoms with archiving projects! the outsiders smp VOD masterlist is here. origins smp VOD masterlist is here. smp earth VOD masterlist is here. rats smp VOD masterlist is here. there are so many others that i just don't happen to know about. the older and smaller a fandom is, the more likely it is to not have an attached archiving project, or for the archive to be missing a lot of VODs. but... guys, we've saved a lot. there are people out there, working tirelessly to save even more. yes, mourn what we have lost--the archivists i know are also the ones mourning the most for the VODs that are, in fact, forever lost media. but don't dismiss how much people have saved. we are making progress. we are losing less and less every month. the vast majority of the dsmp and qsmp still exist, i am not going to say they're the same experience as watching live because they're really not, but.. they're out there. people have put in a lot of work to save them.

if you have publicly available VOD masterlists or other mcyt archiving projects that aren't on this post, please add them in a reblog. i want this post to serve as a reference for how much archivists have saved in this community; unfortunately, i'm not super connected to every community. but i know that--for every person deleting things, there are people working, tirelessly & with little external reward, in so many different mcyt fandoms, to save things. and we should appreciate that more often.

That Daeron/Mysterious Knight theory is SO GOOD, but they way George hates the Greens make me a little 🧐

GRRM fell in love with Daemon Targaryen and HBO fell in love with the Velaryons. Like I said, Team Black is basically GRRM & HBO's Avengers of their favorite - and most marketable - characters to do spin offs. I mean you don't see devolopment on prequel projects for Criston as a Hedge Knight or Daeron and his adventures between 1X06-1X10.

From my experience as a fan since pre-GOT is that often times GRRM gets inspired by other people's interpretations of his material or actors performances. In the beginning GRRM was interested in characters like Criston Cole and Daeron Targaryen. But once HBO started looking for marketability that was when he started changing things in his lore to fit to HBO/WB's corporate structure. Which, is why I don't take him serious as a author a lot of times. Cause everything post 2015 he's written has been based on "What can I adapt into live-action" rather than what would make a good story.

It was easier to rewrite the Greens as the bad guys when in ASoIaF the Greens are remembered as the Heroes of the Dance. He also changed Daeron from an alpha chad who everyone in the Seven Kingdoms was begging to be their kings into a wall flowers who has moments of brilliance but is now kinda dainty and unsure.

Not because he changed his mind, but because the corporate people in HBO told him that their "heroes" in the new series had to be diverse and inclusive. And thus all of Team Green has to be bad guys in some way so that people can root for "Girl Bosses" and "People of Color" ... which as someone who is not white, I find that shit more racist than anything else.

Now, it seems that after the performances by the Green cast of Season 1, GRRM wants to go back and flesh out Team Green and tell stories with them. In particular, GRRM wants to go back and expound on Daeron's story, insisting that he'd a very important character and that there is something important to tell with him.

I'd like to think that GRRM got his balls back from HBO and told them shove it, and that he's taken back control of the franchise in some way. But then Sara Hess got re-upped for another season and she and her shit writing and character work is about 60% of all the problems that plague "HOTD". Not to mention that she is constantly going out to give interviews and saying the stupidest shit.

I shit you not, she did an interview recently where she talked about how she and Olivia Cooke talked about Alicent and Rhaenyra doing sexual things when they were kids ... like as little girls .. and SHE SAID SHE LOVED THE IDEA!

What the fuck is wrong with these people?!

If I was running a project and I saw one my producers tell the world that she loved the idea of two little girls experimenting sexually ... She'd be out on her ass so fast she wouldn't be able to steal supplies from her desk.

Anyway ...

My theory is that Daeron survived the war and went to Dorne where he fell in love with the Lady Dayne of Starfall and thats where the Daynes get their silver blonde hair and violet eyes from ... and their pension for naming their girls with first letter starting with "A" in honor of Alicent.

And that when Makar Targaryen married Lady Dayne during the Blackfyre Rebellion that their kids are the first reunion of House Targaryen - the Greens and Blacks combined. Which is why all of Makar's children run the gambit of Targaryen outcomes - Mad, Drunk, Intelligent, and Brave - With Egg (Aegon V) being the most like Daeron and Alicent.

That's my theory.

this ask has been sitting in my inbox for a while but i am in a mood tonight :)

a lot of my how you say "lore" is very work in proggy but i do have some ideas! a lot of the worldbuilding stuff is cribbed from another old project of mine because i'm not creative and love reusing settings lol but i've always been in love with the kind of setting where strange things happen but to the people who live there it's not strange, it's just life, and they've learned to deal with it. i thought the starfall isles would be the best pick for something like that, given all the stuff about how arcane magic may or may not be inadvertently unloosening some primordial stitching and the relentless pursuit of Things Man Was Not Meant To Know that seems quintessential for how the arcane lifestyle is portrayed. i also got this kind of techy fantasy world vibe from the isles, y'know? and i love stuff like that. also the arcanist is my favorite deity and i think that if he wants to blow up the planet again he only has good intentions and should be allowed to.

so yeah! my lair isn't a singular clan, but rather a few individual parties bound together by how they live in select areas of what's called The Strangelands. the strangelands are more of a phenomena than a marked location, basically just a bunch of places in sornieth defined by being hotspots for strange and unexplainable (but not always harmful or malicious) occurances. but people live in these places and they've learned how to deal.

the "main" clan of this setting is the occupants of the underdwellings, which is a vast network of abandoned underground tunnels that connects mysteriously to the sewer system and local mineshaft. it's located right on the edge of the starwood strands, right where the isles and the wastelands meet, and so many of the occupants are plaguelings despite it technically being an arcane location. these tunnels provide a shelter for individuals who have no other place to go or for whatever reason prefer a subterranean life. it's... not really a traditional clan, there's no established leader and everyone there seems to live a solitary life. however, though some do prefer to keep completely to themselves, there is a sense of camaraderie between the stragglers who have taken up residence there, and a lot of folks pitch in to help maintain order and provide resources for their strange little community of outcasts.

the other place i have so far are the mush ponds. it's a little community of wizards and farmers who are. well. surrounded by ponds of mush. mush is a strange, foamy red substance with magical properties that can be used for various purposes. again not so much a traditional "clan" so much as a neighborhood.

i could make i whole nother post about the lore of individual dragons but this post is already way longer than it should be so yah! that's the gist of it :>

Log D-3

The current date is September 2nd. Maisy turned 9 yesterday. I know I shouldn't mention patient names, but... Something terrible happened this morning. I woke up to a frantic call from her mother and.. and... She wanted to be the owner of a flower shop, for crying out loud... I... I know nobody is listening to these audio logs anyway, why do I need to be professional?!-

The patient was hospitalized yesterday. The magic that made up their marrow structures mutated without warning, and they hadn't been using it much except.. except for helping to plant flowers in their windowsills. They were found screaming on the floor, their marrow spiking out of their skin with blood pooling out from the openings. It... I went to go visit after I got the call, and it was so.. gruesome... They were in so much pain. So much pain that the hospital wasn't ready for. The staff couldn't even give them anything to soothe the pain due to their allergies... There were some bumps underneath their skin that I wouldn't be surprised if they were new mutations waiting to bloom. Even just thinking about it makes me sick... I need to look more into this, but I've been so swamped with work recently. I'm beginning to suspect it might have something to do with the different cells I found previously... Regardless, this is Dr. Alphys, and that concludes my.. my findings.

A Note On Gender And Sexuality In Starfall

Starfall Valley is a break from the canon of Stardew. In the game, every marriage candidate is, ostensibly, queer to some degree.

Great news: Everyone Is Still Queer

In other words, in most cases, I won’t be explicitly stating most of the characters’ genders or sexualities! At the very least not until things start getting more written out. My brain is far too small at the moment to decide on things like that, so apologies in advance. In the meantime, feel free to speculate and form any headcanons you want of the cast, though!

Basically, I just wanted to post this because of how the lore posts have been sorted so far (bachelors & bachelorettes). It’s mostly so that I can keep things straight in my brain and not miss a character; it may not reflect every individual’s actual gender status within this AU. The sorting may change in the future but the current status of the project is “get everything out of my brain” so I need to make it easy or I’ll never get it done. We’ll see what the future holds!

Göncöl (it/its), a fledgling music artist who may or may not live in the Starwood Strand near the Tower. Probably earns Local Cryptid status after a while

Hal (he/him) and Berd (she/her) who were a breeding pair for my best friend's project they've finished recently, and these two are now spending their much deserved retirement with me, getting spoiled. Hal is but a simple gardener usually covered in mud, but sometimes you gotta dress fancy when your beloved wife is a Council member and inter-clan trade negotiator (Hal's skin is night garden by brightmyth)

Starling (he/they) who after literal years is finally fully gened! He's a ribbon dancer with the Circus

Astoria (any pronouns), a witch who travels with the Circus and is apparently just impossible to find a fitting familiar for?? Anyway she's the extremely rare case of me actually buying an eye vial that isn't multigaze or maybe primal

Vesper (they/he/she), an astrologist who has no memories from before waking up in the Observatory and is currently at the Library for field work. Okay I finally read all the hohf drabbles, and ofc I gotta I say I loved all of it so far, I just love the way you write paulkins, and also all of your fics are so great! Also can you list all the superheroes and villains and maybe some stuff about them? (I'm once again trying to figure who everyone is lol)

Paul "Starfall" Matthews

Powers include flight, harnessing starlight, and morphing fists into burning rocks

Does not have the Nitro Gene; gained his powers from an alien deity that crashed into Lake Erie via meteorite (yeah, remind me to go back and edit all mentions of Lake Michigan into Lake Erie at some point, bc that's a bit of Hatchetfield lore I learned from a livestream clip comp a bit too late)

Often theorized to be an alien by the citizens of Hatchetfield, thanks in part to his blue blood and standoffish attitude towards the media

Emma "Wild Flower" Perkins

A florapath; capable of speaking with and controlling plant life, raising vines and roots from the ground, enveloping herself in a massive flower bud for quick underground travel, and summoning a flytrap-esque creature named Slack-Jaw

Has the Nitro Gene; powers awoke about 2 months after she turned 13

The younger sister of Jane "Haywire" Perkins, the highly-regarded though unfortunately deceased technopathic superhero. Not that the rest of Hatchetfield knows that, obviously.

Professor Henry "Madbolt" Hidgens

Powers include control over electricity, and very mild psychic capabilities such as teleportation and minor foresight. Though he much prefers creating machines and robots to do his dirty work.

Does not have the Nitro Gene; gained his powers in 1987 when he was struck by a mysterious bolt of lightning

Has been trying and failing to steal/embezzle money since his supervillain debut, for what purpose, Hatchetfielders are unsure

John "Eagle Eye" MacNamara

Powers include shapeshifting into a Bald Eagle, and uses an advanced combat suit in his human form

Has the Nitro Gene; Was a bit of a late bloomer, only realizing his powers a few weeks before his 15th birthday

Becky "Pulsewave" Barnes

Powers include utilizing her heartbeat to create harmful soundwaves and healing "pulsewaves", hence her alias

Her healing abilities are best limited to smaller/mild injuries and non-serious illness, because attempting to heal anything more intense than that can cause her to experience lightheadedness, nausea, and a dangerously raised heartrate.

Sam "Bullet Burn" [LAST NAME REDACTED BC I'M NOT TAKING GUESSES HERE]

Powers include controlling fire, and using said fire to rocket himself forward like a speeding bullet

Has the HFPD wrapped around his finger, and may be the reason why Hatchetfield has such an infamously low arrest-rate for supervillains.

Names & lore under the cut!

Row 1: Storm (she/her) & Ilrae (she/her).  Storm!!  My lovely custom progen and the current matriarch of Thunder Hollow.  She’s basically the center of Thunder Hollow’s entire arc, being both the original founder and current leader.  She came to the territory hoping to make some major zoological breakthrough and get her name out in the scientific sphere; instead, she wound up creating an entire clan from scratch.  Ilrae’s another major figure, since she’s the clan’s Arcane representative.  She’s blind from enduring a crystal explosion when she was still a (morally dubious) geneticist at the Starfall Isles.  

Row 2: Sarah (she/her) & Ocean (she/her).  Two more “nostalgia dragons” right here!  Sarah is actually the granddaughter of Storm and the daughter of Ocean.  She serves as the clan’s treasury accountant, working with her father and grandfather to keep the clan’s funds secure.  Ocean was initially the matriarch of my 100 hatchling challenge but she eventually evolved into a true lore dragon!  She undertook the challenge in an effort to prove that she was fit to tend the clan’s nests (which had a history of failing due to unrecognized ley-line failure), but was eventually forced to stop when it began to cause physical issues.  Now, she’s a part-time employee at several local shops--and a volunteer nest caretaker alongside one of her other daughters.

Row 3: Leon (he/him) & Tisul (he/him?).  Neither of these lads have much lore atm, but I’ll share what few tidbits I’ve workshopped for them!  Leon was once a popular arena fighter who decided to leave the business after discovering a mistreated young fighter who was in grave need of an escape.  Tisul’s capsule belly contains molten glass--or it used to.  After one of his glass projects half-blinded his brother when it broke, he vowed only to consume enough sand to sustain him--not enough to work with.  

Row 4: Twill (she/her) & Unnamed.  Once again, not much lore on these two!  Twill is the daughter of a guardian whose Charge, Twill’s father, suddenly disappeared not long after the nest was laid.  Twill is now the center of all her mother’s frantic affection--and that might not be a good thing.  As for the unnamed boyo, I honestly have no clue at the moment!  I was considering him for a graveyard keeper (using that one festival skin ;o;) but idk if that really suits him...

Row 5: Huh, who knew I could actually fit five rows?  Anyways, Calyx (he/him) & Petal (she/her).  Calyx is Thunder Hollow’s energetic design architect!  Petal is less of a dragon and more of a nature spirit who happens to have a skill for granting wishes.  She dwells in a tree at the center of Thunder Hollow’s main public garden and might consider granting any wish that is written on a scroll and tied to a branch on her tree.

Flight Rising Moving Plans

Every year around Starfall I consider taking a Flight vacation right afterwards and every year I decide against it for one reason or another.

Not this year. This year, for lore reasons, I'm doing my first-ever Flight change. I'm heading to Ice. How long I stay will be based on several factors.

1. My Cyril Breeding Project

I have a fandragon I'm breeding for who is Ice element: Cyril from the Legend of Spyro. It'd be pretty neat to have him be Ice element on Flight Rising, too. Yeah, the rest of the TLoS Guardians I have are all Arcane, but whatever.

2. I want to be back by next Starfall

Personal reasons. Basically if I haven't already, I want to move back September 1, 2022.

3. Lore/Story stuff that I'm going to involve RNG in

I've decided that over the course of my stay, I will be moving my lair around Ice territory into the different lair locations, starting at the Frigid Floes and ending at the Frozen Sanctum.

There are 8 lair locations and the minimum amount of time I have to stay in Ice is 6 months, so I'm looking at probably October 3-April 3, which is 182 days, divided by 8 being 22 days in each location at least.

At least. I'm going to invoke RNG a bit to make it more fun. I breed daily, so I'm going to be able to move my lair if I get at least one Special Eye dragon from a nest in that period. And for every Special Eye dragon I get, my dragons will make a little progress in their search, whether its befriending local Clans/Beastclans, finding clues to what/where Peacekeeper's Charge is, or something involving their Occulus of the Eleven quest. Some of these may be in narrative format (or that weird dialogue thing I've been mostly doing on the blog. I promise my serious writing has more description), but I'm giving myself the option to just write a blurb. Better than not writing at all.

The maximum time they can spend in any one location will vary depending on how fast they're going through the locations, since my deadline is September 1. I'll have to write down somewhere what the time limits are.

Preparation

I put a nest on every day, so I'll have to remember to not do that. I'm assuming Starfall will be September 26-October 2 since usually the week containing the last Wednesday of the month is the Festival week. I'll just have to remember not to put any nests on starting the 28th if I'm doing my nest math correct.

I also want a particular pair to be the first ones on a nest. I'll need to ensure that their previous breeding is no later than September 8 (since one has a 25 day cooldown). I should probably take them out of rotation at that point.

Breeding Things I Want to Achieve

The aforementioned Cyril project for one thing.

I'll also be saving a hatchling from the first nest I have, much like I did for the first nest I had on the site in general. This'll be appropriately from the same bloodline, with that very hatchling I saved being the mother.

Finally, I'll probably want to keep something from the Gaoler lineage. Maybe. I do already have a couple of Ice Gaolers, though.
