I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that it would be a cool idea if the writers made it so that chaos energy/ magic is a perfect mixture of Shadow and what I like to call physical magic (which is what Wu kon has) Slight rant. Chaos magic I don't think is as chaotic as people think. Chaos is more like not seeing or understanding the pattern of something, but everything has a rhyme or reason chaos magic is just rare so people don't know how it works and it probably works very differently than other magic and doesn't have an easy to see pattern (when people don't understand how things work, they become afraid of it). Therefore it's chaos. Chaos tends to have a bad rap but it is not always bad. It just needs to be understood and once it's understood it's no longer "chaos" and is instead another form of magic (that is most likely more powerful than the other forms), but magic itself isn't good or bad it's the person wielding it that makes it One way or the other.

I'll also share my own thoughts about it: I know the whole "Harbinger" thing doesn't mean that he brings chaos, but the connection between that kind of energy and MK for me it always has been "cool, he is a SYMBOL of chaos" like, he's a big ass chaos flag that, once born, has been flying screaming at everyone "HEY YALL! IT'S CHAOS TIME SOON!". Like, the chaos that is coming is literally the primordial chaos that will come once the cycle end because from it must start a new one. But it would make sense that, since there seems to be a whole ass society of people in the chaos realm, that he would at the very least be one of them, like when you are sending someone from your country as an ambassador to give a message

She can live longer than a normal human, and, if she only stays as a spiritual dragon, she could, theoretically, live even longer. But not forever.

He clenched his fists under the counter, his eyes glued to your figure.

Jeongin shrieked in his place. No way. Why him? He groaned lowly, blinking slowly, trying to process and calm down beforehand, yet he still squinted towards the small bell above the coffee shop’s door, almost as if he could’ve blamed it for the impending dread horror he was about to face.

The smell of toasted coffee beans was almost not strong enough to cover that of your perfume as said bell announced your entrance, and it was then when he knew. Jeongin had covered enough morning shifts and worked several —if not more— evening shifts to know your type.

Pretty.

Disgustingly pretty.

So, so pretty.

Pretty hair, pretty legs, pretty nails, pretty, pretty, pretty. He held back the need to roll his eyes, your tone of voice still able to make itself heard even if the slightly crowded coffee shop was brimming with many other conversations, there it be the small child that blabbered to herself, giggling as she played with some small cars her mother had given her, or said woman, who also played with the colourful toys from time to time, while managing something on her laptop. Jeongin liked her very much. She tipped nicely.

Still, he couldn’t help but grimmace when he noticed your frown as you approached the counter, phone in hand, glued to your ear. Now, could it be that he was maybe being a bit too dramatic? Well, why, of course. His shared shifts were with Hyunjin, after all. Who, to make matters worse, was running late. Again.

“No. And I’m hanging up.” You stated towards whoever was unlucky enough to be at the other end of the call. “No- Jisung, kindly, I don’t give a fuck. If the big man says he’s not gonna pay me, I ain’t doing nothing. I am not some goody-two-shoes he can mess with.”

Your hushed voice still had the classic tone of anger he was familiar with. But Jeongin’s gaze towards you changed, almost reluctantly so, had anyone asked him. He had to hold back his eyebrows from shotting up when even if you were scoffing, still on the phone, arguing with that Jisung man on the other side, you still smiled widely at him, a grin that, had it been somewhere else, it would’ve certainly got you his attention.

But, he had to remain focused. To think, use the head that’s above your shoulders, Jeongin, he told himself. He couldn’t get sidetracked, or else you’d catch him in your spell.

Which wasn’t going to happen, because he knew your type.

Or so he thought.

He noticed an elderly woman waiting behind you, who was obviously not ready to place an order. Ah, there it was. Now you were finally going to turn off that charming attraction of yours, by—

“Oh, please,” You muttered lowly to the woman, a kind, adorable, toothy grin as you moved away from the queue. “I’ll be fine, really.”

Jeongin’s eyes trailed to you as he prepared the brownie the woman had asked for. He couldn’t believe his eyes when you smiled at him, —ouch—, a grin weirdly apologetic, which took him by surprise as you tucked a troublesome strand of your bangs behind your ear repeatedly. Disgustingly cute —yeouch— and without causing a total connundrum over nothing.

Ok. Sure. Yeah. That was totally out of character. But, no, Jeongin didn’t mind. Not at all. Definetely not. Not if you kept smiling at him like that.

“Listen, Ji." Jeongin almost flinched. He felt so lucky for not being the one being scolded by you. "The album is awesome, dude, but I ain’t touching it without being paid. We’re friends, and I love you to death, but if you call me again to make me work without a contract, I am killing you.”

Oh. Well. Jeongin may have not blushed due to your words, but certainly blushed at the way you smiled at him —again, not helpful with his situation—, but also the way you passed a hand through your hair. Ah, fuck.

He had been caught in your spell, hadn’t he?

No. No, no, no. He cursed in his head. Sure, femenine rage was hot. You were hot. Very. But, by all means, this wasn’t something he could indulge in, because—

“Um.” You snickered. “Sorry I was on the phone. Can I… er… may I order now?”

Because… um… what was the reason again?

“O-of course.” He heard himself speak, his voice sounding strange, as if it hadn’t came out of his mouth. He smiled, a bit awkwardly, indeed, but a smile nontheless. It got better when you matched it, chuckling lowly.

“It’s fine. Really. Sorry, again. I can see you’re busy, so by all means take your time.” You grinned, a smile with matching levels of innocence and cheekiness. Damn, he was already that down bad? “Could I have an espresso machiato?”

Espresso. Espresso. Not only you pronounced it right, which made the small barista inside him started to glow and shake Jeongin’s heart, that had started to beat like crazy, but the mere sound of your voice had the young man whipped.

“You're fine." Very fine indeed. "No worries at all." He nodded politely, feeling his cheeks grow red.

He started to note the order on the machine in front of him. Easy enough thing to do. Just tap here, there and… eh… um…

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” He muttered, frowning.

“I, uh, is everything the matter?” You blinked, your expression showcasing a small yet sincere amount of worry.

So odd. So out of character. So, so, so cute, his heart screamed.

“This machine is just the worst.” He gulped apologetically. “Does whatever it wants, really.”

A line started to form behind you, and Jeongin panicked. Why him? Fuck, shit, fuck. That was it. Jeongin was so getting fired after this—

“Do you mind if I step in?”

Jeongin’s eyes almost got lost in yours as his gaze locked on you.

“I don’t think I can…”

“I’ll wait for my coffe, and I’ll fix your machine. Promise. I know how these work.”

The head above your shoulders, Jeongin.

"I think Hyun- um, my coworker knows how to fix it. He should be here in no time..."

"Oh, please. Just let the girl fix it." A customer groaned behind you.

"Actually, I'm still in the wrong. Don't push it, sir." You argued with a smile, shocking both the man and Jeongin, who now saw a sort of halo surrounding your figure.

“I, uh… good luck, I guess.” He sighed, shrugging and letting you behind the counter.

Oh, he was so getting fired. Letting a client step in behind the counter? Nevermind how good she smelled, how cute and hot she looked or how pretty her smile was. You rolled up your sleeves, and he almost thought he had seen traces of ink. Oh boy. He was going to get in so much trouble, in about two sec—

The machine dinged funnily, and you smiled.

“Fixed!” You sighed cheekily. “A reboot and a shake still works just fine.” Jeongin blinked, puzzled. “Guess I gotta speak with Chan and Hyunjin.” You giggled. “Thought I had taught them better.”

...

“H-huh?”

Your smile got bigger, as you chuckled again.

Oh.

Dimples.

“Didn’t they tell you?” You smiled again, taking a hair clip from your purse, swiftly tying your hair up. “I opened the cafe with them a bunch of years ago. Chan owned the building, Hyunjin had the style, and I was the coffee enthusiast.” The way you beamed had him hooked.

The both of you seamlessly got to work together, making coffes and taking orders and serving. It wasn't rush hour, by any means, so Jeongin quickly started up your order, apologizing lightly, a blush on his face.

"I really appreciate it, though." He grinned sheepishly. "Here you go, noona."

You tried to get out your wallet, but jeongin's body worked faster than his head, only able to settle his hand over yours.

It was as if a shiver overwhelmed his whole body just because of that simple touch. A system reboot.

"It's on the house." he smiled, trying to play it off and calm the fuck down. "You saved me back there. I owe you that much."

Then the bell rang again.

"Hey, Innie, sorry I was late, I was walking my fish..." Hyunjin blabbered nonchalantly, unbothered, looking at his phone until he got behind the counter. He stared at you, then smiled widely. "Noona!"

Surprisingly to Jeongin, you didn't match his welcoming. Instead you scoffed. "No. I have to walk my fish, you see." You clicked your tongue, and Jeongin couldn't help but laugh at his mate. "Actually, I think you're fine on your own for the rest of the shift. We'll go watch your fish."

Jeongin had been too busy laughing to mentally prepare, and blushed furiously when you grabbed and linked your hand with his, giddily taking him to one of the free tables.

"I don't think I should go walk fishes still in my shift." Jeongin joked lightly, still flustered.

Your hand left his, and strangely to him, the action felt almost reluctant.

"Maybe we can chat over some coffee, then?"

Jeongin smiled.

"I'd love that."

He thought he had known your type, almost as gorgeous as annoying. Which didn't came as a surprise was how happy he was to be wrong.

Summary: Two years ago, a viral outbreak rose the dead. Considering how his life had gone up to this point, surgeon Trafalgar Law figured this might as well happen too. When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.

Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.

[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.

[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

My recap of the Paris gig 😗

_ I arrived at 9am for the queue, it was nice to finnaly see other Kaareelyt ^^ thanks to @duekko for the fanart !! And i got so many bracelet xD

_ The gig was in a bar and the staff let us in at, if i remember, 3pm ? So we were able to wait inside confortably ^^ that was really cool

_ We saw the K crew going back from their eiffel tower photoshoot (and at first i thought that Mr Bodyguard was followed by two children 😆 but it was Kä and Hä lol they are really tiny when they are with Mr Bodyguard lol)

_ We were able to see the songs and lights tests (i was a little bit scared because when Jukka tried his guitar i felt the windows shake 😆 i was like "will i survive the gig tonight ?" because i'm not used to loud music and flashlight ^^)

_ AND THEN KÄ AND HÄ WENT TO US WITH MR BODYGUARD AND JESSE AND TALK WITH US FOR LIKE 20MN !!! That was so surreal 😆 they were so kind and funny :3 Jere with his "You want drink ? Yes ? Vodka ? Ok 😃 !" and then he paid for all the drinks lol we were i think 20 or 25 at this moment ^^ and then we were served by Hä and Jesse ^^ nice nice nice

_ Jere asked us if it was our first gig so i was like "yeaaaah 😄 " and he said to me "i hope you'll like it 😊 " so i said "oh yes i will " xD

_ I don't remember all of the things we talked about but i have a little video of the moment ^^ Jere speak about "Pooland" lol and that he don't have the choice of the country for the tour :/ and he said that he was really happy to go again on small stage and to be able to spend some time with the fans (if i remember well lol) there was so many things that happen to him last year and it was exhausting for him because he didn't have time for himself etc etc i remember that Jesse shush him many time and it was funny xD it was like Jere said thing like "yeah i think we will sing two new songs tonight" and then Jesse shush him (i don't remember well lol). Someone asked if Erika will be there for the gig and he said "Erika who? lol i don't know her 😁" xD so the person said something like "what about Herika then?" and Jere was like "ahah yes yes Herika 😁" lol

_ Funny thing i just remembered: when Jere was talking with us there were an old lady who wanted to go the bathroom so she needed to pass in front of Jere and she was like "Time's up time's up!" And Jere was like "watafak 😅" that was really funny lol

_ And then finally the gig !! I was in the front row (Jukka side :3) and it was so perfect (nobody pushing others etc etc ! Really nice ^^) it was really impressive to finally hear Kä in live !! Like when i heard Jukka do his solo i was like "wooow ok that's... woow"! And i was really glad that i did'nt have any problem at all with the loud music and flashlights :D

_ I understand why you all want to see Jere on stage xD this guy knows what he's doing :o and the new songs are sooooo soooo cool !!! We had "Bananas" for the first time ^^. And "sex=money" is really a banger !!! Woow !!!

_ We got Paidaton riehuja !! And of course our dear Goddess Erika Vikman for Ruoska (OMG she is so awesome 😳)

_ Jere was soooo soooo happy i thought he was crying of happiness at the end of the gig :3 baby !! It's so great to see him happy like this ^^ he's living his best life !! At the end many of us makes semi-hearts with our hands and Jere makes the other half ☺️ (so i was touched a little by Jeresus 🫶)

_ When the gig finished we made some art on the tourbus :3 Jesse was like "wtf does that mean 🧐" because there were words in french eheh

_ i am soooo happy of this experience !!! I hope i can see Jere again on stage in the future :3

🔮 ⤷ Eldritch Awakenings | Main Quest Review

Plot spoilers for the main quest below the cut. Avert your eyes!

Plot: I think the opening to the quest was one of the best we've had in a while. It wasn't just going up to one of the characters and them remembering your existence since they've been stagnant in Fort Maria for two years. Being alone for that first part was really quite cool, and I think reinforced MC's own individual part in this story, and not just as an accessory to the Soul Riders and the Druids. Taking us on a slow ride through MC's journey and growing responsibility as the fifth Soul Rider through mirages of important characters (istg when Elizabeth appeared, I audibly gasped) felt like a genuinely cool way of preparing us for what's ahead, and what MC's position actually means.

I'm not sure if it's ever been mentioned before, though I probably missed it, but I didn't know Aideen's Ascent is the place where Aideen first stepped on Jorvik? I thought that was a really cool place to have the beginning of this quest take place. To stand on the place where light first touched Jorvik, and then look out into the ocean during the vision scene and see the physical manifestation of darkness breaking loose? HELL YEAH. The imagery is *chefs kiss*.

After following Jessica through the portal and coming up into Guardian's Dale (after using various bits of magic from our Soul Rider training), all four Soul Riders are just sorta hanging there. I'll be honest, I kinda didn't like that bit...??? I completely get that they need to get MC to play a big part in this whole thing, but I don't think that necessarily means just handing the entirety of Jorvik's fate over to us whilst the other four just sit on the sidelines (but, hey, what's new?). They kept mentioning over and over throughout this quest that 'together we're unstoppable', but WE'RE VERY MUCH STOPPABLE IF YOU'RE UP THERE BABE. It would be really nice to get a bit of balance across the group, yknow?

But!! Before we can get them down (which apparently we could have done before everything went to shit), we're invited to touch the Light Ceremony Book. Y'know, the big book that's currently dangerously floating in a pool of dark magic? And then, uh, we just do? Well played, MC.

Queue: "Oh god, oh no!! This has all gone horribly wrong!! MC, I believe in you, you can get us down! And then we can help you!!"

But before I get too caught up in that, allow me to just touch on THE DEATH OF MR SANDS???

Now THIS caught me off guard. Whilst I expected that Sands' death would happen eventually (I would have assumed during the final great battle or something), I wasn't prepared for it to happen at this point in time. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it! I think I've grown too attached to Sands as a character throughout the various games and the books, his history and his motives etc, and am kinda sad to see him go. I think it definitely poses an interesting relationship now, as we saw, between the Dark Riders and Darko, the former of which clearly does not want to work with the latter. Wonder how this dynamic will develop in the future?

Okay, so back to saving our besties.

Avoid the various Dark Rider magic, press E, repeat.

Okay got em down, all good.

Queue: "That was awesome MC!! Okay, here's the plan. ALL OF US will distract the Dark Riders whilst YOU AND YOU ALONE DEFEAT GARNOK!! Because together we're unstoppable!! You'll do so awesome!! We believe in you!!

So, okay. I understand that there is only so much they can do in terms of fight scenes and how MC plays a part in that, in terms of keeping it PG and actually playable in the realms of SSO's mechanics, but come on! You're telling me the Big Great Battle you advertised was just 30 seconds of running around in a circle pressing E? Basically dumbed down to "hit this thing!", "now hit this thing!", "one last time, hit this thing!", "OMG you did it!! Garnok's gone now :)"

Though, to be completely honest, another massive thing that shocked me was us having to destroy the Light Ceremony Book. Maybe I'm just too caught up in the lore of the novels (my beloveds), but it's clear that that thing is so valuable, and it's just like, gone now.

Not only that, as Darko mentioned, whilst we may have stopped Garnok from breaking through right now, we've also just destroyed the one way to stop him from doing it again. Which is um, uh oh.

So, Darko wants a fight (and I fully expected us to start fighting him again) BUT no :/ everyone's just too tired to do anything else right now, and so the Dark Riders (after bitching about Darko briefly) ride off into a portal, and we ride off into the sunset for a lil cosy campfire.

And I liked the campfire scene. It very much reminded me of the Saving Anne quest :( Like, they all just want their normal lives back, and yet they're fully aware that they will never fully achieve that? That just :(( I love them really, I promise.

Visuals:

There's no doubt about it that the team went to town on how this quest looked. There were so many new animations, visual effects, and just the general atmosphere felt really nice.

In terms of character animations, I believe we got some new ones for the Dark Riders! The way Katja and Jessica glanced at each other was SUCH a fun little addition to it. No-one was just stood there like "🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️"

The animation for when Darko drags Mr Sands into the portal?? HELLO?? PERFECTION. Bro literally called him frail and decrepit and proceeded to grab him by his collar and throw him into a death hole.

The way the Soul Riders and their horses were being held up in those orb things looked genuinely quite cool. Also very reminiscent of Anne in Pandoria :( We also got another instalment of Shocked Alex™, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I could be wrong here, but the vision scene right at the beginning looked illustrated? And it looked SO good, I mean, that whole scene was just perfectly executed. The way the effects distorted everything and how we just watch as Garnok breaks out of the water?? MMM.

I would also like to acknowledge the SOUND EFFECTS?? There was a particular moment where Linda screams, and that took me by surprise icl.

Overall:

Mixed opinions for me, really. There are so many elements of the quest that I really liked, and some not so much. I will be stalking ssoblr for the next few days, though, to read people's thoughts, because I get so excited about what people think when main quests come out >:))

Also this post is a reference when I will have inevitably forgotten that any of this happened by the time the next quest comes around in 2027

- After the whole ordeal at the diner Sunshine wants to learn how to protect herself a. In case Logan isn't there b. So she doesn't have to see Logan get hurt and c. So she can protect Theo against his dad in case he comes by :(. Either she takes up self defense classes or she asks Logan. If the latter queue Tension, flirting, blushing, and both being worried they're gonna hurt the other. I'm thinking it would happen when she would drop off Theo and she would ask Lo abt it and they plan to meet at the school? Or her apartment? Idk up to you. If the former I think it would be interesting to reveal her "secret nightly classes" in a way where she saves Logan somehow and he's has a "Oh shit that was hot I'm in love" moment followed by a "that was stupid I'm basically immortal you could've gotten hurt" lecture

- Logan hearing Sunshine singing for the first time when he does his nightly pace/ guard of the kids rooms at night (bc hes always scared the mansion is gonna get attacked again esp since Theo is there now) and hears her voice coming through the speakers of his phone as he passes Theo's room. He opens the door to find Theo asleep as his mom sings. "Bean? You there hon?" Logan comes in, turns it off speaker, and answers the phone. "You knocked him out, siren"

- I have a random thought of Lo teaching Sunshine how to ride his bike for some reason (maybe I'm just projecting bc I want to learn lol). I feel l Iike this would happen after they get together but early in their relationship? Again lots of Tension, flirting and blushing haha

- I also have a hc that Logans love language is acts of service and touch. So way down the line in their relationship he makes a point to learn how to paint Sunshines nails, braid/style her hair, anything he can help her out w while touching her <3

Hi, hope you're doing well!

I was wondering if you have a specific resource you use for weaving project inspiration? I struggle with finding ideas for projects that aren't another scarf (I have 6 now...) or teatowels. My next project for my 4 shaft loom is going to be a lining for my pinic basket with matching napkins+cutlery roll, but after that I'm out. I would specifically like try overshot sometime soon, but I don't know what yet.

Hello and I hope you're also doing well! A picnic basket set sounds amazing!

I don't have a specific suggestion for you, alas. I've been weaving for less than a year and so far I have always had more ideas than I have time for (they form an orderly queue but usually the newest shiniest idea jumps to the front, how rude). I try to write them down as they come, to hoard against barren patches in the future.

I get ideas in a few places: a lot from my books because I want to try all the different structures I can, #weaving and related tags (shitty as tumblr tag tracking functions are) because I want to join in with the cool things other people make, nature stuff. I make a project and then make something completely different because I want a fresh experience (and different frustrations!) - a few cotton projects and then another wool one, several shuttles then one shuttle then two - but I also return to old projects and weave a new variation to see what happens. I've abruptly reached the age where several of my friends want to have babies, so I'm plotting more wide warps and double-width projects as baby blankets, which have their own restrictions.

But I make more tea towels than anything else because they have infinite give-away potential: even if I have too many towels in my life and I don't want the faff of selling them, someone will always be glad to have them. I can fuck up as much as I want and make them in any design at all and they will be useful, except for, like, lace. Some of my things have a recipient in mind when I make them, but most don't.

I struggle a bit coming up with palettes - it's part of why I'm not very interested in doing plaid - so I often go for pride flag palettes because they make a thing into A Thing (even if the palette isn't, like, relevant to me personally). Might do similar with bird-themed palettes in the future, like I did for the pigeon towels. Or when using wool, I only have cones in a few colours so I just use those.

Whatever you're doing, assuming you aren't using up a one-of-a-kind material in a way you don't want to use it, it's not wasted. If you enjoy the process, not all of it has to be for a result you are interested in, and it will still refine your skills for results you do like in the future. Not everything has to be the pinnacle of inspiration and craft but it may help you towards finding the next thing that really gets you excited - exercising your inspiration muscles whether they want it or not. This is a parable not an experiment that ever happened, and it's only vaguely related here, but this is my favourite retelling of it:

There was an experiment a professor did. I think it was pottery students. He did an experiment of “quality” vs “quantity”. One half of the class he told; you have to make as many pots as possible. Good pots, bad pots, shitty pots, whatever. The more pots you make, the higher your grade. The other half of the class were told, “you can make only one pot”. But that pot had to be perfect. The quality had to be high; the highest quality pot would get the best mark. But when it came to the grading, they noticed something weird. All the best quality pots were in the ‘quantity’ group. The guys who were literally churning out pots, trying to make as many as possible, not concentrating on the quality. But every pot they made, made them better at making pots. By the end of the month (I think it was a month) - they had some pretty awesome pots coming out, because they enjoying finding all the ways and all the things they could do to make all their pots. Where as the ‘quality’ guys had spent their time reading up on pots, and technique, and researching and planning; which was all great but they’d had no further practice at actually making pots. The best way to get really good at something, the only way to be really good at something, is to make lots of shitty attempts at that thing several of which will fail. If all you create are perfect things then you won’t improve, because how can you improve on perfect? tl:dr MAKE YOUR SHITTY POTS.

Watch: EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Joins HALESTORM For 'Break In' Performance At Canadian Tour Kick-Off

EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee joined HALESTORM on stage last night (Tuesday, October 15) at the Vancouver stop of the two bands' joint Canadian tour to perform the HALESTORM song "Break In". Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below.

In August 2020, HALESTORM released the official music video for a reimagined version of "Break In", featuring a guest appearance by Lee. The new version of the track, which originally appeared on HALESTORM's second album, 2012's "The Strange Case Of..." , was recorded in October 2019 at a Nashville studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who had previously worked with both bands. The clip captured Hale and Lee delivering an impassioned studio performance of the track.

The updated "Break In" appeared on "Halestorm Reimagined", a collection of reworked HALESTORM original songs as well as a cover of "I Will Always Love You", the love ballad made famous by Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton.

Lzzy and Amy performed a quarantine rendition of "Break In" in May 2020 on Hale's Internet show "Raise Your Horns With Lzzy Hale".

Speaking about the collaboration, Lzzy told Amy: "What I love about dueting on that song with you is that it started out as as love song that I wrote for my significant other" — referring to HALESTORM guitarist Joe Hottinger — "but when we sing it together, it's this act of unity, especially with the two of us being women and being women musicians. It's like we have each other's backs. And the lyrics mean something completely different when I sing it [with you]."

Regarding the way the new version of "Break In" was recorded, Lzzy said: "We did it performance-style, literally next to each other in the same room — from beginning of song to end of song, singing with each other.

"I've never done anything like that, but especially with a female singer of your prowess."

Amy added: "Nick always gets the challenge and gets the most out of me… So he made us stand there in the room and sing it live together a bunch of times. What that really means is that editing, you couldn't use when you did something cool but I messed up; it would have to be that we both nailed it for it to make the cut. So to do it in that way was really challenging and it was really cool and it fits the song so well.

"I remember you saying, and we both were saying, when we were listening back, it's really weird, at times — I know my part, but you can't pick out whose voice that is in that one particular moment, 'cause we started matching each other, 'cause it was on the spot. It's really cool how that happens.

"It feels like a match. It doesn't feel like any one person is pulling the other person along a little bit or leading the train. It really felt like an evenly matched dance."

Lzzy and Amy originally performed "Break In" together in 2012 during the "Carnival Of Madness" tour, which was headlined by EVANESCENCE and featured HALESTORM in the support slot. At the time, Hale told Zoiks! Online about how the live collaboration came about: "It's funny. We had talked in the beginning of the tour, 'Oh, we should do something.' What would we do? Do we do a cover? Do I come out during her set? She came up to me, I think it was two weeks in and said, 'I'm obsessed with your song 'Break In' right now.' I was like, 'Thank you so much.' Then she said, 'I know all of your parts, all the backing parts and everything.' I was like, 'Sweet, that's awesome.' Alright, I figure I should clarify some things about what I've dubbed partybreakers. It's less of a "the partybreaker player engages with the Fraymotif in XYZ ways," and more like "this Fraymotif has XYZ qualities, which makes it a 'partybreaker.'" So not all Thief Fraymotifs would result in a partybreaker, it's just that a Fraymotif that has themes of wielding your teammates as weapons (/neg) and/or treating your teammates as obstacles or indiscriminately to the Targets of the Fraymotif. It's sort of hard to explain as it is kind of arbitrary, but the gist is that 'partybreaker' is an informal classification of Fraymotif, and not a component of them. Hopefully that makes any amount of sense lol.

Knight of Light [one who protects and protects through information, relevance, and fortune] + Thief of Time [one who steals and steals through time, change, and activity] + Seer of Blood [one who knows and knows through bonds, connections, and sacrifice] + Prince of Doom [one who destroys and destroys through death, decay, and finality] + Witch of Space [one who manipulates and manipulates through space, creation, and passivity] + Sylph of Hope [one who heals and heals through beliefs, ideals, and positive emotion]

Subito (suddenly; sudden) + Subtleties (details that are subtle) + Grave (triple entendre meaning something deadly, the place where a corpse is buried, and from italian "Grave" meaning solemn, indicating an excruciatingly slow tempo) + Scherzo (a short orchestral piece of music)

The Knight and Sylph begin by creating a cognitohazard that the Seer ensures only spreads through the targets. The Knight protects their allies through exploiting the flow of information, and the Sylph floods the targets with false beliefs that everything is great and that they are gaining the upper hand. While the targets are all making a quick jaunt through pyroland, the Prince cleaves through the targets, inflicting a sort of miasma that the targets are unable to be aware of.

The Thief makes use of this by stealing the targets' futures from them, and that along with the Witch containing the Prince and Thief's havoc to a specific area of effect, causes the targets to rapidly begin to decay and deteriorate. The Seer directs this by giving the Witch the focus to exempt the Prince from the affected area, as well as the Seer, Sylph, and Knight working to prevent and mend any leakage of the Prince's wanton destruction from affecting the rest of the party, if and when it happens. The Witch collapses the Space around the targets, slamming them together, which ends up clearing any statuses the party had caused.

This party actually works well together, especially if the Prince knows the difference between destroying their aspect and destroying through their aspect. Also I have no clue what the Thief would do with all that stolen Time, so have fun dealing with their following shenanigans lol

Do you have any more from the extended cut from A Treatment Room Doors Moment? I saw a tumblr post from you where Keeley is trying to get Jamie to talk to Dr. Sharon, and he says he is already seeing a therapist named Lucy. I'd love to see more of that!

Thank you for sharing which fics you liked and bits you remembered me posting about!! Sharing fics you like is the best way to keep me motivated to actually write them 😂Out of those, God Forbid will be the next one you will see. I'm like two scenes off finishing Ch2 so it really shouldn't be long. And the next chapter of Maybe Next Time will be coming in whumptober! So keep your eyes peeled.

As for ATRDM and the extended cut, currently Keeley reflecting on her relationship with Jamie through the crux of Jamie having a therapist is the only extended scene I have so far. The extended cut is for scenes that I wanted to include but don't make sense in Roy POV which is a sacrifice for the narrative viewpoint that only Roy POV gives me. They will be posted when the chapter they go with is posted if that makes sense. So this scene is from Ch13 in the timeline but we get introduced to Lucy in Ch7!

Here's a little bit that comes later following that confrontation:

“Did you know Jamie had a therapist?” Keeley asked Roy as they ate curry in front of the TV that night. Phoebe had just been picked up by her mum and Chelsea were on the TV so she was in for an evening of sitting watching Roy say he didn’t care but getting increasingly worked up as the match went on. It was better entertainment than the match itself. But she was still thinking about Jamie. How did he do this? How did he, entirely without trying, manage to worm himself into your head and make a little nest there without your permission? “Yeah, Lucy. She seems great,” Roy frowned with a one shoulder shrug. “It seems to be helping. You know from how different he is now compared to before,” Keeley murmured. “I think he just needed people to listen when he had something real to say. Lucy does that for him,” Roy replied dismissively and didn’t that just twist the knife deeper. Keeley didn’t. He came to her with a problem as an olive branch of friendship and she had deemed it too much work and tried to offload him. They never really talked about anything real when they were dating. Jamie was too shallow and defensive for any real conversation to happen and Keeley just saw him as a sweet prop. She could admit that now, they weren’t good for each other a year ago but now, could she be this new real Jamie’s friend?
