Triangle - Gojo Satoru

Summary: Satoru's wife and his daughter gossip about him.

Something seems fishy. And no, it's not how fast Satoru's one and only daughter is suddenly five years old, despite all of his efforts to keep her a little baby. No, he's slowly getting over that. It's the way that little rascal and her mama, the love of Satoru's life, keep giggling every time he walks into a room. It's the muffled voices he hears as he turns away from the two of them and the whispered words he cannot quite comprehend. There's only one logical conclusion to draw here: his girls are gossiping about him behind his back.

So Satoru opts for the only reasonable solution to the situation at hand: he climbs the unsteady ladder that leads to the attic, on a quest to find the old baby monitor so that he can place it under the couch, waiting on the other end to catch his girls in the act. He's rummaging through boxes, sneezing every other second from the amount of dust, but he's determined to find the listening device. This cannot go on any longer. He's making a huge mess and a lot of noise as well, he's glad that his little mochi is at kindergarten and you are currently on a mission on the other side of Tokyo. The dust gets increasingly unbearable, Satoru has to turn on his Infinity (something he never does when he's home) so that the small particles cannot reach his nose and the white-haired sorcerer gets more irritated with each passing minute.

"Ha! Found it!" he exclaims with joy as he fishes out the pink walkie-talkie-like device from underneath some baby overalls, ones that bring tears into his eyes as he remembers his baby girl wearing them when she was an infant. However, the other end of the monitor is not in the same box and he huffs out an irritated sigh, continuing to look through the box right next to it. Fortunately, he finds it quickly and climbs down the ladder, and runs to the living room, leaving one end of the baby monitor under the couch, just like he planned. Usually, his baby girls wait for him to get home sitting on the sofa, watching cartoons, and he relies the success of his quest on the consistency of your routine. Suddenly, he senses your cursed energy and hears the excited yells of his little mochi from outside the entrance, so he runs up the stairs, getting into his hiding place in the closet connected to your shared bedroom.

The front door opens and he hears your daughter running in as you warn her to take her shoes off before getting into the living room. She obeys because she's a goodie two shoes and Gojo gets excited to finally hear what his girls have been saying about him.

"Are you hungry, sweetie?" you ask the little girl that resembles her father perfectly with her white hair and mesmerizing blue eyes.

"Yes! Can we eat mochi for dinner?" the little girl exclaims and Satoru smiles to himself, proud that his daughter has developed the same addiction to sugary treats as him.

You lecture her on how mochi doesn't classify as dinner, but you promise she can have some after eating a proper meal, and you mention how probably her father is going to bring home some sweets when he gets back. Satoru smiles again upon hearing that, you know him like the back of your hand.

Making dinner takes way too long, feeding your daughter is even more time-consuming and Gojo is getting more impatient as time passes by. He fights the urge to just abandon his plan and join the two of you, spending time with his two girls is his favorite activity after all. However, as he gets up, stretching his limbs, he finally hears his daughter ask an unusual question.

"Mama? Why did Dada change his wizard clothes?"

"Because he's the Strongest, honey, and sometimes his clothes get torn apart."

"But he looks like a triangle now, no Mama?" you laugh out loud upon hearing her words and Satoru is hurt. Deeply.

"Yes, little one, he does look like a triangle." you agree with the toddler and the giggling continues, offending Gojo even more.

"He also smells." she adds with a familiar chuckle, one that mirrors her father's perfectly. You do not disagree, you keep laughing at your daughter's words, and Satoru bolts up in frustration, he runs down the stairs with unusual force and determination, and he stops in front of you with a deep frown on his face, his hands questioningly on his hips.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I LOOK LIKE A TRIANGLE? AND I SMELL? WE ALL KNOW MY ESSENCE IS LIKE A FRESH SUMMER GARDEN?! FLOWERY, EARTHY AND MASCULINE!" he exclaims with a large smile on his face, not taking the whole situation seriously, but he pouts at the end of his monologue, urging your beloved daughter to jump into his hands as she doesn't know that her father is doing this on purpose to get limitless attention.

"I'm sorry, Papa, Mama said bad about you and I agreed to get mochi." the toddler says while kissing her father on the cheeks lovingly, a bad habit she learned from said buffoon.

"My kikufuku?! You're saying Mama doesn't love me?" he acts like he's deeply hurt, looking at his favorite girls in adoration. Your daughter just simply nods, not able to look either Satoru or you in the eyes, a clear sign of her being dishonest. If there's one thing neither of the Gojo's standing in front of you were good at, it was being able to sell a lie. They were terrible at it and you didn't mind. You stand up, walking closer to your family, embracing them in a big hug, kissing their foreheads lovingly.

"Mama only loves me!" the toddler exclaims, reaching her little arms towards you, signaling to her father that she wants to be held by you.

"You see, little one, I would have believed you when you said Mama was saying bad things about me and you only agreed to get mochi from me, but I knew you were lying when you said she didn't love me. So I win!" Satoru explains and the toddler hides her face into the crook of your neck from being caught and "deeply hurt".

"Satoru, love, you have to give her mochi now to feel better!" you chime in lovingly and your husband runs out of the living room, into the kitchen to give you the treats he bought on his way home.

"Look at his chicken legs!" you exclaim, pointing in his direction to get your daughter's attention. The toddler in your arms starts laughing loudly and the white mop of Satoru's hair appears from the entrance of the kitchen, a frown evident on his face.

"HEY! I HEARD THAT!"

Can we appreciate crows for a moment? They're basically like monkeys with feathers, we should talk about them more.

(Aka: A highly indulgent list of crow facts!)

🐦‍⬛ Crows live in colonies of 15-20 birds (called murders). That doesn't mean they're not menaces to society. For example; they frequently steal from their neighbours nests.

🪶 They're also quite prone to love triangles, since they mate for life. However, they do not fight often. There are quite a few cases of possible polyamorous relationships among these birds: they share nests and all help feed the little chicks.

🐦‍⬛ Speaking of little crows, even when they reach the age where they have to leave the nest and can feed themselves, they still persecute and annoy their parents to feed them. They can also "play sick" as a joke.

🪶 Crows usually eat vegetables, fruits or nuts as their main diet, but these rascals can actually eat whatever it is that falls into their beaks. There's a documented case where one feathery menace chugged A WHOLE PAIN POT.

🐦‍⬛ While the community of crows eats, one or two crows sit on a tree and observe around 800 metres (2,624ft) of area in order to inform their team of possible danger.

🪶 Crow communities defend each other against predators and mourn their losses together.

🪶 Crows know how to talk. They can repeat almost 100 words or phrases.

🐦‍⬛ Some crows that live in rural American states have been documented to use cattle to rest themselves on them and potentially use them as transport. They were also said to shout "Yee haw" when they rode horses. They implement this kind of transport into hunting as well.

🪶 They can also imitate sounds like barks, tweets of other birds, or whatever it is that a chicken does.

🐦‍⬛ Naturalist William Crowder had a crow that got into the habit of playing with MATCHES in the KITCHEN.

🪶 Another crow was said to be able to PICK POCKET PEOPLE and when he didn't find anything he shouted "GO TO HELL!" and fleed.

I love how the book of bill turns Letting The Triangle Into Your Dimension into more of a moral dilemma than it was in the show, or even Journal 3. “To Bill this is only a game, but to us, it would mean the end of the world.” Except that actually, to Bill it’s his home, and it’s the ragtag gang of scrappy orphan rascals that he took charge of, gave purpose to, and became the protector/leader of, and all of their lives at stake. He tried to brush it off, but it seems like he genuinely feels responsible for them. They’re scared. Of course, they’re still criminals. If you did let them in, they would wreck your home and end/ruin lots of people’s lives, and that would be wrong. But just leaving them to die feels messed up.

I love that the book humanizes Bill without trying to convince you that anything he did wasn’t as bad as we thought. (Well, Bill is constantly trying to tell you that, but we’re all very well aware that he’s an unreliable narrator.) But he doesn’t know how the Edge of the Nightmare Realm came about. He gets defensive. (this was touched on in weirdmageddon, but I don’t see nearly enough people talking about how he can’t take what he dishes.) He’s not some master manipulator who knows you inside and out, better than you could ever know yourself or him, he just scans some of your memories for some stuff you might care about and runs with it. The only reason it worked so well with Ford was because they already had similar trauma and compatible personalities. I honestly think that if Bill had just told the truth about the true purpose of the portal that they would have been great friends. Ford -knowing what would happen this time- wouldn’t have ever tried to build the portal, but he would help Bill problem-solve to find a way to not be eaten by the Edge. Bill could get him all the information, and the context, and the what the living there was like without ever getting interdimensional travel involved, because you know he could, and then nothing bad would’ve happened, and how it really went was fucking tragic.

I love that we get even more psychological horror journal pages, even more intense than Journal 3 had. And I love that it shows us that Bill made a mistake and the consequences of it were so traumatic that his memories of that day are repressed. He’s just . . a guy. Who has too much power how ill adjusted he is.

But I am deeply annoyed at how Bill all but told us that his relationship to Ford was romantic in nature. I maintain that Ford never thought of Bill in a romantic way, because he is aroace. It’s very clear in the show, but especially in Journal 3. Anyone who tells you otherwise either has no reading comprehension skills or is retconning something. But I can’t deny that Bill clearly outlined how he would court someone, and that he has done those things to Ford. Can I pretend that was just him screwing with us because he knew we would come to that conclusion? *deep dramatic sigh* Probably not because of how how he acted when he was drunk. To yoose guys this is delightful, I know, but to me all the stuff above that I said I did like were enough to make this a fascinating dynamic. The romance part is just kind of there. All inconveniently. Making it feel less interesting and meaningful.

Will definitely do an essay on what the book of Bill implies about Billy’s home world at some point. Might make a comic about The Good Timeline where Bill was honest to begin with.

In the clubroom of the Hasunosora Girls' Academy School Idol Club, a modest little celebration was underway.

“Man, that really was a great live show!” Sachi said, holding her paper cup with a satisfied grin.

“But it's interesting how everyone's got a different drink, huh…”

Kozue had her own tea, Tsuzuri was sipping canned hot chocolate, and Megumi somehow had a café latte clearly bought from outside.

“Well, we all have completely different tastes after all~”

“And totally different personalities too.”

“I love you both, though,”

Megumi said, softly brushing her fingers against Tsuzuri’s cheek. “I like you too~ Tsuzuri~☆”

“Hehe.”

“Every time I look, you two are always so lovey-dovey,” Kozue said, taking a sip.

“Eh? Are you jealous, Kozue?”

“Of course not. Jeez... Me-Megumi…”

“Hm?” Sachi tilted her head.

Megumi squinted at Kozue, “Hey, can't you say my name more naturally?”

“I don't know what you're talking about. Oh, right, I got some good tea from home. Want me to make some for you, Tsu-Tsuzuri?”

“My name’s not Tsu-Tsuzuri.”

“Right. Okay... Tsuzuri.”

Kozue stood up, and Tsuzuri followed after her.

Huh? Sachi tilted her head again.

“What's up with those two?”

“Looks like someone's had a change of heart.”

 “Hmm…”

The habit of calling each other by name, which had started during practice, had completely settled in now.

Or... had it really? Megumi tilted her head.

She just wished Kozue would stop saying her name so timidly. It made her embarrassed too.

“Kozu, Kozu~”

“W-what? Tsu-Tsuzuri.”

“My name is…”

“I get it! Tsuzuri!”

Watching the two of them happily brewing tea together, Sachi clenched her fist.

“Yeah... it really was a great live show. Next time, I’ve gotta make sure that all four of us can be up there ‘till the end. I’ve got to do my best.”

Then she turned and grinned.

“Oh, right. Have you heard the rumors about you guys?”

“Oh, you mean us? The 1st and 2nd years who wowed the crowd and made the Nadeshiko Festival a legendary success?”

“Getting a little carried away, aren’t you?” Sachi chuckled.

“They’re calling you three the ‘Great Hasunosora Triangle,’ apparently.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Who knows. I guess it means your performance left a really deep impression in people’s hearts.”

She looked up at the ceiling as if envisioning stars that weren’t there, and thought: not bad.

Yugiri Tsuzuri, a brilliant dancer

As Sachi started making excuses, Megumi smiled to herself.

“The Great Hasunosora Triangle... Interesting. A triangle.”

She looked over at the backs of Kozue and Tsuzuri, then turned to Sachi with a pitying look.

“That’s why you didn’t make the cut, Sachi-senpai. You’re just not tall or grand enough”

“Who are you calling short, huh!?”

Megumi pointed at Sachi and laughed.

“Hope you grow taller soon~☆”

Just then, the tea-brewing pair returned.

“Honestly, Megumi... making fun of someone’s height isn’t exactly polite, you know?”

“Sachi, if you ever can’t reach something, just let me know. I’ll get it for you.”

“But that would hurt her pride, right...? Hmm... would it be better if we lifted her up instead?” Kozue said with genuine concern

“Is that how you talk to your upperclassman!? Jeez!” Sachi put on an exaggerated pout.

Summer vacation was just around the corner.

“You rascals!”

What kind of adventures would this summer bring?

Megumi glanced out the window.

Unlike the pressure-packed summer before, when she was focused on living up to her fame as a celebrity, this summer feels truly exciting.

Live in Love was one of my most anticipated shows of 2024 for the simple fact that it is explicitly color-coded.

The show is not playing any shenanigans with me! I know who the couples are and what their colors are because the show understands the assignment. I don't have to guess! I'm being slapped in the face with them from the very beginning!

And, hopefully, I get even more couples!

BECAUSE EVERYONE GETS A COLOR!

And regardless of the plot (COVID-19), the colors will be coloring the entire time and these boys will exchange colors because that's what the title card told me!

Kla is a Blue Boy.

He is dependable. He is smart. He is loyal. And he doesn't like sweets.

All of his friends rely on him all of the time to help them and to cover for their mistakes.

And just like him, his people are color-coded too!

His best friend, Poon, is an Orange Oddity who is creative and enthusiastic.

And he is in a situation-ship with Cyan Chap (working on labels for this) Game, who is clearly into Poon even though he has other suitors and Poon is oblivious to Game's feelings.

Gina and Khing like Poon and Kla, so they wear their colors (orange and blue), but I'm praying for a GL side couple even though the relationship chart up top tells me to stop living in Optimistic City.

Bee and Dol round out the friend group as the Yellow Yal and (light) Blue Boy, but as a duo, they are a hot mess and cause the most issues.

Like partying all night, getting COVID, and missing an important meeting which causes Kla to have to see the guy he once had a crush on.

Or, at least, that is what I picked up because Boss liked Amp (a girl), who liked Kla, but Kla didn't reciprocate her feelings which pissed Boss off but KLA LIKED HIM yet couldn't admit that because he knew Boss liked Amp! <- I'm fully invested in this love triangle backstory

But everything will be okay because the guy who doesn't like sweets is going to fall for a Pink Person named Cake.

A Red Rascal named AF (or Amp) likes him already.

Which makes sense because Cake is a sweet and caring person who included Amp in his friend group when he was all alone.

But I want Amp to be with Cake's Green Guy little brother!

They bumped into each other at orientation, and Itim made Amp apologize to him, so regardless of what the chart up top says, the colors are already coloring, and it's too late for me to go back now!

Which brings me back to the start! The orientation was in the past and Kla called out Cake's name, yet they are barely meeting in the present? I don't think so, and the colors seem to be telling me the universe has been trying to connect them for a while, like Cake's blue phone, which will be how these two start their relationship.

And him drinking from a blue mug.

But, also, Kla met his friends the first day of school because they were all in the pink group.

So I want this show to give me that Thai special and let these two color-coded boys in love to have known each other before this live stream.

But either way, I came for the colors, and they delivered!

DC Sonic - Earth 3 / Anti Mobius

Sonic / Flash counterpart would be Scourge / Johnny Quick. Being more like Evil Sonic instead of scourge he would be more of a basic bully and impulsively following his own whims.

Tails / Cyborg counterpart would be Miles Prower / Grid. After deconstructing Dr. Kintobor's technology he would finally be able to overpower his bullies. From there he would start incorporating it into himself, becoming obsessed with power and joining the Crime Syndicate for a chance to try and manipulate them.

Knuckles / Superman counterpart would be O'Nux / Ultraman. The echidna's Society along with the Master Emerald would have been destroyed, being the last survivor he would hunt down the shards of the Master Emerald to empower himself.

Amy Rose / Wonder Woman counterpart from the previous pattern should be Rosie The Rascal / Superwoman. This won't work though since Lois Lane is superwoman and not Diana Prince in most versions of Earth 3. Not to mention given superwoman's love triangle with Owlman and Ultraman it makes more sense for it to be Rogue The Bat / Superwoman. Given Rosie The Rascal backstory it would actually make more sense for her to be a twisted version of Mary Marvel.

Silver / Green Lantern only having a DC counterpart in Power Ring without a direct counterpart on Anti Mobius. From the Power Rings origin now it may have been given to him by his universe's version of Blaze. Instead having the spirit of Volthoom inside the ring it would have Mephiles who would have pushed him to travel back in time.

Shadow / Batman only having a DC counterpart in Owlman without a direct counterpart on Anti Mobius. Owlman is not actually Bruce Wayne he is Thomas Wayne Jr, Bruce's secret older brother. Shadow does have an older relation that was kept secret as well, the Biolizard. The silver of the outfit would be his life support along with armor. Instead of being too dangerous to contain he would have stayed under control long enough to kill everyone on the Ark before descending the Earth.

The phrase that I translated as "the cloak" under the first fullbody image of Narve was a word that was phonetically spelled out as "ko ge". I'm assuming it was a variant spelling for coat/cloak.

The little drawing about night school off to the top right on the second page was a little hard to parse. The phrase has a character that indicated it was dialogue, but I wasn't sure which pronoun to use ("I", "we", "he") since none were provided in the Japanese. I went with "We" because it seemed like a pretty catch-all pronoun that either of them could be saying.

Anyways, on to the recap! I feel like I had less to say about the shows this week, probably in part because I've had a busy week and none of the current shows are in brain rot territory.

Episode 11 of 12 || Watching on: iQiYi, Sunday

This is still my happy place! I'm glad Rak's mom and granddad stood up for Rak because it was so frustrated to see his dad trying to protect him but being so entirely misguided. Sadly this whole mentality that there is nothing wrong with being queer but just not if it's your children or anyone else you love, seems to not be uncommon. It's like a weird mid way point from thinking being queer is wrong to having no problem with queerness. Still fucked up though so I'm glad none of the other characters agreed with him, so it was clear that he was still entirely in the wrong. On another note: I absolutely love Hia! Save just does such a good job of being this pathetic mischievous rascal. Please can I have more of him!!

Episode 17 of 17 || Watching on: Gray, Thursday

Oh I adore Johan and North! I was invested in them all the way til the end and I would definitely love to see Maxky and Bas work together in the future. As I've mentioned before I lost interest in Ter and Hill early on because they just kept going in circles. Also make it make sense that Ter was down to get physical with Hill back in high school but then in university he suddenly becomes the perfect example of a Blushing Maiden, like what? I do really hope they get to make the second part of this project because I desperately want to see what happens to the other two pairings.

🇹🇭 ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat

It's cute as always and I like their story. This episode left me so confused about Jun and what his deal is? He definitely has some kind of ulterior motive and I don't think he's into Po. Or at least I very much don't want him to be because love triangles are not my thing and for once I'm not rooting for poly because I don't think Thame would enjoy that.

I loved how Fadel was so ready to murder Kant but every time someone brought Style into the equation he just couldn't do it. He obviously didn't want to and just didn't want to admit that he cares for Style until at the end of this episode when he finally caved. This show has lost some of the sparkle for me but I'm definitely still invested!

Episode 3 of 7 || Watching on: Gagaoolala, Friday

I like this show? Like they were doing some really interesting things with production this episode and I'm interested in the story but I'm not super invested in the main couple and honestly, with the most recent episode, I'd actually be rooting for the het couple if I didn't think that his girlfriend is kinda done with their relationship. They just had a really cute start to their relationship and the main couples chemistry just isn't chemistry-ing for me yet. Either way, I'm still intrigued but I honestly have no idea where this is going.

This keeps being a really good show and I'm excited to see how this ends. Would recommend, but can't think of anything else to say.

Damn, Yotha's gotta get his shit together! I spent most of the episode physically hurting for Gun because Yotha is being so hot and cold. I'll admit that I did cheer when Gun locked that door! And it seemed like that reality check was sorely needed. Luckily it seems like he's finally starting to understand his own feelings. Finally!!

Wait Jin can read minds? And Cir's mom is going to do something super ominous when he graduates? Damn this show is wild! but in a very different way to Sangmin Dinneaw. I'm very confused but I'm invested. After this episode I'm definitely onboard with the theory that there is no parallel world.

This show keeps being so bizarre! I'm still enjoying it though and it helped that there was no Pony this episode. I'm not a big fan of how Dinneaw jumped to all kinds of wrong conclusions when Sangmin and Hana were just hugging but I probably shouldn't expect any better from this show.

Almost tracing a trail underneath his feet, Beomgyu had been going back and forth, pacing in their Common Room. He had been like this for the past hour or so.

Biting his nails still, Mark Lee can’t help but remark on his antsyness. “Bro, you good? Is something bothering you?”

Beomgyu looks at him, though, still a bit shaken. “Oh, just about… Potions.”

“Okay, yeah, there’s a big test coming up, right?” Mark says, still laidback by the crimson couch. He lightly pats the cushion, gesturing to him. “My friend actually excels at that, maybe he can help?”

“Yeah…” Beomgyu mindlessly nods, his thoughts just trailing away from him further as he is plotting. Now how am I going to get him off our case?

“I think we have a joint class with Slytherin tomorrow or so… you know Na Jaemin?”

Almost like a snarky response, Beomgyu sighs softly as he nods. “Yeah, know him quite well… on how much he had been making himself known to Yumi.”

Dang it, Na Jaemin, you are even brought up in these instances.

“Oh, she’s the Hufflepuff girl he had been telling us… So, she’s close with you guys?”

Almost like a slip-up, Beomgyu didn’t mean the latter part of his opinion of the Slytherin to be known to the other.

He just casually nods along with Mark. “Actually, Yumi is great at Potions. I’ll ask her instead.”

“Heh, cute. No wonder they get along well.” Mark says with amusement. But opposite to Beomgyu as it visibly comments on Yumi and Jaemin being… Damn it.

“I guess.”

It left another bitter bile by Beomgyu’s throat.

The following day, the aura of Na Jaemin is as bright as usual. However, the smile he brings is hard to ignore because of how obviously a centimeter wider it is from ear to ear.

It is quite obtuse to his tranquil attitude upon sitting at their table. He usually greets them loudly the moment he squeezes himself in with the Dreamies.

Remaining quiet, Jeno and the others can’t help but nudge Jaemin on how stupidly in a daze he is. And he didn’t even bother hitting back. Weirdo.

“Ya! You rascal, why are you that happy? Huh?” Jisung broke the silence. “You haven’t won the Quidditch match yet.”

“It’s as if you already did.” Haechan rolls his eyes.

“Heh, sorry…” He was the first to apologize. Jaemin just scratches his head apologetically, and goes his merry way getting food on his plate.

The younger might have been implying Jaemin ditching Quidditch practice yesterday. But he was on to some important business, promise!

“Doesn’t seem sorry.” Mark side comments, pointing out his goofy smile while eating some plain-ass potatoes.

“I’ll practice lots later, don’t worry.” Jaemin just nods and goes back to his own world.

They want to slap away that smile of his on how dangerously it might rip off his cheeks. It’s clear as day that it was the Hufflepuff’s girl effect on the Slytherin. But is the outcome this instant?

Still no shenanigans? Comebacks? Anything…?

Maybe the lack of coffee in his veins?

Renjun picks on his food with a ‘tsk’ off his lips. “I’m guessing ‘all good’?”

It’s apparent that he’s intrigued even if he appears irritated. It’s just different from the usual loudness of the friend. Time to pay him back—

The group turns to him, expecting on Renjun to know more as he’s mostly the first for Jaemin to pour out his thoughts and gears at.

Jeno nudges Jaemin, excited for him to spill the beans. “Aye, so what happened?”

They just stared at him, expectant.

Jaemin opens his mouth. “Just… great things.”

For once, lost for words huh? Impossible—

“Aish, just get on with it so we can start.” Chenle lowers his book at the slightest, the meager impatience spills through his tone. It is more on for him that he’s in a hurry to start focusing on other things.

His focus got lost in the contents of the book moments ago, and his ears are leaning more on the group as they get into another flurry of chaos.

“All flags are green and ready to go.” Jaemin gives them a thumbs up, mostly directed at Renjun as it’s mostly their code?

“Going positively well with Yumi huh?” Mark beams, teasing more as Jaemin 

“The tutor went well is all that I can say.” Jaemin puts it out there, more on giddy as he continues now that they’re made aware of it. “And now… well, we’re getting there, Yumi and I are close enough for something to develop into more.’

“Yo, Bro! Letsgooo!” Mark stands up to fist bump and chest pump the other as if to commemorate a winning game.

“So it’s sure go that she’s your date for the Year-End Party?”

“With that…” Jaemin pauses, his lips with a slightly crooked smile, but he shrugs it off. “That’s for her to decide. We’re fairly new, and I know she’s got the usual customs on that with her group. To be fair, I haven’t directly asked her yet, but I’m aware she’s got plans beforehand. Later, I’ll try again.”

“So she’ll get back to you on that?” Jisung clarifies. Jaemin bites off his food, nodding.

Haechan supports himself with his arm on the bench, laid back as he points out. “But at least…”

“You got a girlfriend!” Mark completes the statement, and the others hollered along him. 

Jaemin pushes him off as the Lion tackles him. Back on the clock.

He shushes them to sit the back down as it’s still a lazy mid-morning in the Great Hall.

“No, no, not yet.” Jaemin presses, but leaning more on the positive end. This silly crush of his turned out to progress more successfully than expected. Of course, it’s hard to get it off his chest that quickly. The warmth and butterflies cages in him. “Not yet. But it’s getting there.”

how would daeron ii and myriah react to walking in on baelor and maekar having a suspiciously incestuous moment? would daeron have flashbacks to his parents and uncle and try to separate his sons as much as physically possible?

Hmmmmm.

So the thing is, I don't know that he'd immediately make the connection between gay targaryen incest and regular brother-sister targaryen incest. It's not to say that he wouldn't be hung up on the incest aspect of it, but I do think the gay part of it would throw Daeron a lot more than the incest part. I also think it depends on exactly what they're doing - like who is bottoming basically, and I think he is going to see whoever is the top as the aggressor, and he's going to conflate this with his father's sexual affairs rather than with the aegon/naerys/aemon love triangle.

I think Myriah is likely to be a bit more normal about it. When you look at like, the way everyone sees the Renly/Loras affair as extremely goofy behavior from both of them, or Jaime straight up being like "Oberyn fucks dudes he's not worthy to fight for my brother," the people in Dorne are very respectful of Oberyn and his sexuality. It's like, just another cool part of him; he's so deadly, he's so smart, he's so hot he pulls men AND women. I'm sure there would be a different take on this if he had a long term male lover instead of Ellaria (hashtag Willas/Oberyn is real) but ultimately, Oberyn's status as a second son with a very permissive brother makes his sexuality just like, part of his rascally nature. So I think whereas Myriah would be really stuck on "oh my god my sons are fucking" I think once she realizes Daeron is stuck on the "my sons who are both men are fucking" aspect she's gonna be like "I mean....well it's not like they'll be making any bastards this way, which is only a plus for us right now."

I think there would be an initial push to separate them and marry them off in an attempt to straighten them out (lol) but I think if Baelor or Maekar kick up a fuss about it, Daeron won't push back very hard so long as they're both married and having kids. Personally, I think this whole thing might kinda freak Daeron out - I guess my read on him is someone who is like, suuuuper straight laced, not dissimilar from Ned when it comes to sex and marriage, and the idea that his son and heir is having an extramarital affair AND as Myriah helpfully points out, is having that affair with his BROTHER absolutely triggers some unresolved feelings about his father. I think Myriah would eventually take a sort of “well that’s just targaryens for you” esque stance, but Daeron takes a much longer time to stop being weird over it. I think for him it’s like, a conflation of extra marital affairs with sexual abuse, and then very likely conflating bottoming with sexual abuse as well. Both Baelor and Maekar are dutiful sons however, and all four (parents and sons) live long enough that I think Daeron might take a Corlys stance of like “well he did what i told him to do so what more can I ask” eventually but I think it would be a long road of Baelor trying to truly convince his father that his attraction to men has nothing to do with any sort of abuse.
