Attempted to hand build last night with still questionable results. To be fair I didn’t level out the rim like I could have and decided to stick with a “clearly handmade” look. Hopefully the handle won’t snap off.

argh!! (a post with me bitching in the tags about pottery today lol)

#started up pottery again but jumped up to intermediate from beginner #and we no longer use reclaimed clay we get to use the compact fresh stuff this class #and good lord for the life of me this and last class i could not center!!!!#like 3 hours nearly #basically in tears and have the teacher come over and ask hey what am i doing so wrong #and he has me do it and he said i had it????#but I still saw a slight wobble therefore signaling it was NOT center #so he’s like ‘what do u do for a living?’#and knowing where this is going I’m like ‘…lawyer’ 🙃#and he’s like duh you’re too nitpicky on details which can help but is harming my moving on #so I was like rly did I waste 3 hrs and had something centered way earlier than I thought #i was like near tears so frustrated 😭#and watch maybe they were all bad until he watched me and that was the only time I got one this class #cue me then opening it too far and everything falling apart on my first raise #not having it today folks!!!!!#katie.txt #major kudos to anyone who read this and if you also play with clay then hello
