(1) Dress for girls aged 8 to 10, in fancy old pink wool. Skirt gathered at the back, finished with a ruffle, embroidered with lace and topped with a striped velvet headpiece. Blouse bodice with large pleats, large lined collar edged with lace; straight sleeve gathered in one cuff, taffeta belt, striped with velvet.

Joe: Massive sweet tooth!! It's very hard for him to pick, but if you fought him, he'd be split between eclairs, Bûche de Noël (yule log), or chocolate mousse.

Kaiser: Obsessed with toffee brownies

Disco: Key lime pie

Hippo: He may be a voracious eater but he doesn't have as much of a sweet tooth as you may think. He prefers fruity things like smoothies or parfaits to chocolate or vanilla. He also likes a good Carrot cake.

Hondo: Creamsicles

Bear: Honey cake and anything with syrup. It's basically canon.

Tiger: He's split between gingersnaps and whoopie pies

Don: It used to be rice pudding and then he discovered snickerdoodle cookies lmao

Aran: He used to prefer things made with booze (Guinness cake, brownies, Irish coffee, Guinness floats, etc.) but as of late he's come around to red velvet cheesecake.

Soda: Another big sweet tooth tbh- give him anything and he'll be happy. Though he does like his desserts cold more often than not.

Bull: Jell-o. It's really easy to make so he eats it whenever he can lmao

Macho: Not much of a dessert guy either. At most he'll go for donuts.

Sandman: Nice and simple- vanilla ice cream, maybe in a rootbeer float or with cookies if he's feeling extra fun.

Mac: Either mint chocolate chip or rocky road ice cream.

Ireland & Sweden!

This past weekend was my last weekend trip of the semester! It is crazy that the semester is coming to an end. Monday, May 1st was Labor Day in Europe, so we had a four-day weekend. Emma and I went to Dublin, Ireland, and did a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher on Saturday. On Sunday, we flew to Stockholm, Sweden, and spent one day there. We got back to Florence on Monday evening. This post is long, but it is mostly photos!

This weekend was definitely a whirlwind of travel. On Thursday night, we took a train to Bergamo and then an Uber to the airport, where we slept until we could get our boarding passes from the Ryanair desk. Since we were leaving the EU, we couldn't get mobile boarding passes and therefore couldn't go past security until 4:30 am. Our flight left at 6:30 am, and we arrived in Dublin at 8:30 am.

We planned out an itinerary for the day since we had pre-booked tickets. We started with a quick donut breakfast!

Next, we dropped our backpacks off at a convenience store that had luggage storage.

Our first stop was Dublin Castle.

We walked through the small garden and stumbled upon a museum of glass that was free admission!

After the museum, we walked to Trinity College Library to see the Book of Kells. he book depicts the four gospels and illustrations with beautiful details that are visible even after so many centuries. No photography is allowed of the Book of Kells.

This is called the Long Room! It reminds me of Hogwarts.

For lunch, Emma and I went to Nando's.

Our next destination was Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

It is the largest cathedral in Ireland.

The church had beautiful stained glass, and I learned a lot about the history of Ireland.

After visiting the cathedral, we walked to the Guinness Storefront.

The storefront is massive, with multiple floors, and each level explains a different stage of Guinness beer production.

We got to do a tasting of the beer, which was my first time trying it!

A free drink was included in the tour, so Emma and I got ciders!

It was around 3 pm when we finished at the storefront, and I started to feel exhaustion kick in. But we powered through and walked to Kilmainham Gaol for the last tour of the day.

The jail opened in 1796 and closed in 1924.

This was probably my favorite tour of the day, and we learned a lot about Irish history because the jail was home to many Irish revolutionaries.

For dinner, we went to Celtic Nights. It was a dinner and show restaurant where we heard Irish folk music and saw Irish dance! It was so lively, and I was very entertained!

I had a traditional meal of braised Irish beef and potato soup.

To end the evening, Emma and I got pints of cider in the Temple Bar area. There were so many pubs and people everywhere, a very lively area.

This is the most famous pub in Dublin!

We went to the Airbnb for an early night because we had another early morning the next day.

On Saturday, we had a tour of the Cliffs of Moher and Galway with the company Wild Rover.

In Galway, we got lunch and ice cream first.

Grilled cheese with cheese, goat cheese, shredded chicken, and red pepper relish! With a side of pesto mayo, so delicious!

We also went to O'Connell's bar, where Ed Sheeran filmed the music video for his song Galway Girl and had a pint.

Moving on to our day in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday. We got there in the morning and went to get breakfast!

Then we went to the Vasa Museum to see a viking ship!

It was so cool to see! Unfortunately, the ship sank after 20 minutes of its maiden voyage.

We also visited the Abba Museum!

We saw the clothes they performed in and learned about how the band got together and became so successful!

Towards the end of the day we went to old town and got dinner there.

Stockholm is so pretty in the spring!

The long weekend was very fun and packed with lots of activities. We really ended the semester with a bang! I have to say that I am glad I don't have to get on a train, bus, or plane next weekend. Instead I will be soaking up the last of Florence and studying for my final exams.

-A venti black pike place

-Like that's literally it. Doesn't add his own cream or anything.

-If he's feeling like treating himself he might switch it up and get a venti black cold brew

-Yeah he's got problems

-Also I feel like he'd totally get the ham and swiss croissant because that shit is orgasmic and it is illegal to have that much black coffee on an empty stomache

-9/10 times he does it on an empty stomache anyways and then wonder why his stomache hurts all day

Kit

-Kit is so sweet and would definitely get a birthday cakepop

-Honestly for like a year he'd go to Starbucks for the cakepop alone

-But then one day he decided to live on the edge and get an Irish cream cold brew

-Yeah he definitely riots when he finds out that it's seasonal

Kyle

-He's a frappacuino guy through and through

-Doesn't even like actual coffee but is at starbucks literally every day for the vanilla bean frappacuino

-I can not support this because that thing is disgusting but unless the coffee looks and tastes like a milkshake Kyle won't want it

-Always orders it as the biggest one

-He definitely has a starbucks rewards account

-Judges whatever Zoe orders because his is simply superior

Jimmy

-He's a basic boy who doesn't like coffee but wants to look cool at a cafe

-Gets a hot chocolate and pretends that it's coffee

-Just wait until he finds out about the white hot chocolate though...

James Patrick March

-A diagnosed pumpkin spice latte girl

-Especially since he can literally only go on halloween

-Would throw a fit if the starbucks is all out of pumpkin and won't stop until he finds a store with it

-Literally gets like three that day and so he's bouncing off the walls by the end of the night

-Just about dies when he tries the pumpkin creamcheese muffin

Rory

-A pink drink guy

-Spends the extra $1.25 for the vanilla sweet cream cold foam

-And yes he thinks the bacon gouda sandwich is literally the greatest thing ever created

-Little does he know he has the taste buds of my 51 year old father

-But he thinks it's called a latte so then he always has a Karen moment when he gets the wrong drink and refuses to accept it's called a macchiato

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day.

I am still trying to acknowledge and thank people for all the birthday wishes I got sent yesterday. Hopefully, I will finish thanking everybody by … next week? Needless to say, I am enormously grateful to everyone that made the effort to wish me happy birthday. I thank you from the bottom of my large, protruding belly, which is still full of delicious Indian food!

Not only did I get birthday wishes but I got some really touching messages and some very good suggestions! One very creative (and very naughty) person suggested that I have a party for my 69th birthday! By that age, my parties will be of a very special nature, if you catch my drift!

Many of you said, “I hope you get spoilt rotten.” Those that know me know that I get spoilt rotten 365 days of the year. Nevertheless, on this day, I got spoilt super-rotten!

On my birthday, I taught between 2.00 – 4.00. Don’t mind working on my birthday. Thankfully, I love these students! Two girls came in with a giant and very delicious-looking blueberry muffin with a candle in it. I blew the candle out and made a wish. Then another girl came in with a tray of ‘party cakes’, then another girl came in with a tray of iced fairy cakes, then another girl came in with a bottle of Rose Prosecco! See how spoilt I am?

In the evening, me, The Trouble, my son and Harlesden’s Finest went to an Indian restaurant we’ve nicknamed Taste Of The Whore. It’s literally round the corner. We were able to walk there and stagger home. Harlesden’s Finest bought me a yummy Red Velvet cake. It was very moist!

And then, the climax of the evening! After all, it was my birthday! Birthday boys deserve special treats. I had been looking forward to it all day. I said to The Trouble, “Are you ready?” “I am,” she replied. “Have you still got some energy left?” I enquired. “I have,” she replied. Well, what can I say? Few words can truly do it justice. It felt so good! So good! If you’ve ever had a pedicure, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Our feet need pampering! Having clipped my nails, she applied this special moisturising cream for feet. I felt beautiful! When we feel beautiful, we look beautiful. Next week, I’m going for some more extensive grooming!

First lesson today is at 9.30. I’m exhausted but exhilarated. I’m happy but sluggish. Hope I don’t fall asleep on the train and miss my stop. (Something I did yesterday!) The Irish Moss is keeping me going!

Have a throbbing and thrusting Thursday (with hopefully a few thrills through your thoroughfare?) I love you all.

✧ Animal: Cissnei is most definitely a cat person. They’re a lot more self-dependent which is good for her since she isn’t at home a lot of the time, and when she is she always makes sure to shower her kitty with love. Their curious nature and instincts reflects very well with her overall demeanour, one might even consider her as the kitten to Zack’s puppy. 

✧ Flowers: Red Chrysanthemum 

✧ Scent: The finest perfume, a scent most alluring that she wears. Every time she steps outside, she always tries to smell her best as if she was attending a formal party or ball. It’s not a strong scent, but a subtle perfume that makes you turn your head and say “Damn, she smells nice.” under your breath

✧ Coffee: Mocha, she loves the coffee taste with the smooth chocolatey aftertaste. She has quite the sweet tooth~

✧ Tea: She likes her tea spiced, similar to a chai tea.

✧ Drink: Milkshakes and dessert cocktails, like Irish Cream liqueur fused with coffee if she really wants to wake up.

✧ Alcohol: Red wine, whiskey, dessert liqueurs.

✧ Food: She loves fried foods, French fries, fried chicken, burgers and whatnot but she only eats these on her cheat days. Other than that, she sticks to a strict keto diet.

✧ Dessert: Cheesecake, red velvet cake.

✧ Clothing: Verse-dependent: if she’s in a fantasy setting, I’ve always placed her as an assassin/thief/pirate type so she would defo wear leather armour providing enough protection while she can move with great agility. In the main FF verse, she wears the Turk suit and in her casual attire, jeans, a shirt, maybe some leather such as a jacket.

✧ Candy: Doesn’t really like candy, but she loves chocolate. Go to her office, she’s always got a tin or a box of chocolate.

✧ Left or Right Handed?: Ambidextrous, left hand preferred.  

✧ Sloppy or Neat Writing?: As a master of subterfuge, she is able to mimic handwriting, but her own handwriting is relatively neat and tidy. Sometimes it’s a little small to read but on the whole, it’s quite nice to look at.

✧ Clean or Messy Home?: Cissnei’s home is clean and tidy, as befitting of someone of her occupation. Some clothes are strewn on a sofa or her bed, sometimes pillows will be on the floor thanks to her cat but her luxury apartment is kept pristine, as if no one even lived there.

✧ Shower in Morning or Night?: Night time showers, she likes to wash away the stresses of the day as well as the sweat and grime before going to sleep refreshed, especially since she exercises after work.

✧ Tasks Done Early or Last Minute?: Tasks are always done early, gives her more time to enjoy herself and have fun.

✧ Love Language?: Affirmations for sure, there’s a certain joy that flows inside of her when someone compliments her in an affectionate way. Add physical touch onto that and she just melts. For her, if you compliment her while brushing her hair or caressing her cheek or holding her close is something that she just can’t resist. Acts of service is also a big one for her, a true follower of the ‘I scratch your back, you scratch mine’.

✧ Believe in Love at First Sight?: Love at first sight is a myth to her, she believes as you get to know someone more you will eventually form a bond. The longer she spends with someone in a personal or intimate way, the more she will eventually fall for that person. She does enjoy the odd fun night every now and then, and she finds it incredibly fun and liberating but truly falling for someone? She knows the difference, and she’s experienced it only once.

OK so theres a pretty famous restaurant in my hometown that does pie/cake shakes where they literally just put a pie into the blender with the ice cream, crust and all. kicks ASS. my faves are their pumpkin pie and red velvet cake... probably red velvet first.

55. Can you do any accents other than your own?

i would say no but i just listened to a couple songs by someone with an irish accent and now even my internal dialogue is irish so yeah that one i guess. mostly its just mimicking what i hear. like i can do entire narrations for mechanisms albums but only if i say them with jonnys accent.

So, as far as new recipes are concerned, I’m mostly stuck with difficult ones such as candy, bagels, and macarons…oh! Well, there’s also Lancer Cookies and Spin Cakes.

Chapter 3, according to the newsletter, is almost finished! Which may mean new food items to re-create soon! Exciting to think about.

Regardless, I got a lot of practicing to do. Especially when it comes to thinks I need my candy thermometers for. It always stokes my anxiety a little since the last time I tried candy, my thermometer didn’t work, and analog ones lose calibration all the time. The digital ones have served me better when making donuts or other fried food, though, so I may stick with that trusty fellow for frying and candy-making.

I’ve still been cooking, but my focus has gone to season-related meals, snacks, sweets and drinks because each season has its own set of flavors that are festive for that time of year - such as oranges at New Years, red velvet and chocolate-strawberry at Valentine’s, and Irish Cream next month.

I try to write stuff down, but I also hate writing 😅 and sometimes it takes multiple tries before I perfect something!

There's this lil pop up coffee stall that opens only two days in the week when they come around. They had so many different coffee syrups like Irish cream, red velvet, and hazelnut.

I just had a white chocolate mocha w Turkish delight syrup and wow! Coffee good! I'm so used to just my normal latte I make at home it was such a nice break
