in lieu of doing my homework that is due tonight (i will still do it) i have instead invented three cowboy bebop ocs
#still ironing out the final one but the first two#are an old lady who owns a curio shop full of retro stuff and junk#and the tv head robot from an exhibit she went to as a child#she was refurbishing and restoring it when it went missing#so she pays a pretty penny for people to go search places it might be (and for any other old stuff they bring back to her)

Guys. Christmas is coming. Consumerism is in the driver's seat and GAWD don't I know about the existential ennui of all these faceless corporations trying to schill you their wares. It's cold. Impersonal. Bleak.
So I, a fellow tumblr user, will instead try to schill you MY wares, so that when you purchase these items you can say "Hey, that person from tumblr worked on this", and feel the warmth of HUMAN CONNECTION in a way that is completely normal and not parasocial at all. We really are friends. I promise. Yes, you. Love you, bestie. Remember the boop war? Good times. Fond memories.
THIRTEEN STOREYS and FAMILY BUSINESS by Jonathan Sims

Tumblr's favourite Nightmare Factory @jonnywaistcoat has two novels out and they're phenomenal horror that also punch you in the throat with SOCIAL COMMENTARY and FEELINGS. He's so adept at tapping into the specific part of my brain that feels fear like a small child - not the adult creepy scared that I normally get around horror, but specifically the kind of fear that almost freezes your limbs and vocal chords with a terror you don't quite understand because there is so much in the world that you don't know, but you know that somehow this thing might be quick enough or smart enough or sneaky enough to get you before you can get to the safety of your parents sort of fear.
THIRTEEN STOREYS is a haunted house novel, but set in a refurbished block of flats. Each chapter follows a different resident being haunted in a different way, with a style to match the flavour of ghost. It's all tied together phenomenally and brutally.
FAMILY BUSINESS is a story about ghosts in a different way, following a woman who joins a post-mortem house cleaning service while grieving the death of her best friend. But as she removes the stains from the houses of the dead, she begins to suspect something else is removing even more.
Both of these titles are available from Gollancz worldwide!
THE LAST UNICORN, THE WAY HOME, THE INNKEEPER'S SONG and A FINE AND PRIVATE PLACE by Peter S. Beagle

Obviously Peter's work needs no introduction, and our editions aren't available in the US and Canada, but I've had a wonderful time working with Peter and his team to bring these beautiful books back to the UK. Meeting him at Worldcon this year was such a magical moment, and he was jet-lagged and I had gone through sleep deprived into hyper and was bringing an Extremely Weird Energy to every interaction I had that day, resulting in this photo:
THE LAST UNICORN and THE WAY HOME are a matched pair of wonderful fairy stories. THE WAY HOME has two novellettes in it, and the first - 'Two Hearts' - won the Hugo award. It will also destroy you.
A FINE AND PRIVATE PLACE was Peter's first ever novel, and it's wistful and romantic and so beautiful.
THE INNKEEPER'S SONG is his epic fantasy quest, it's an adventure story that reads almost lyrically. Also there's an orgy in the middle which caught me by surprise when I was reading it for the first time on the train into work.
HIGH VAULTAGE by Chris and Jen Sugden

It's possible that someone on this website doesn't know I was involved with this book but don't worry, I will HUNT THEM DOWN AND TELL THEM. This is the first book I took all the way through the editorial process from end to end and I am SO PROUD of it and Chris and Jen and their wonderful world of @victoriocity. Officially one of the seven funniest books published in the UK this year, shortlisted for the Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction. It's a chaotic, bonkers murder mystery set in an alternate Victorian London which is the most gleeful dystopia I have ever encountered.
Featuring:
Grumpy Sunshine besties
The Victorian Equivalent of the Chuck Norris Meme
A robot who undertook a course in People Management
An indefatigable beagle
This is another book that you can get from Gollancz all over the world, and you SHOULD because it's amazing. Go into your local bookshop and ask them to order it into stock. It's a great Christmas present. It's my firstborn book baby (like that's a completely normal thing to say when I didn't even write it). Also if you're a fan of the podcast, why not tell the Guardian how great it is, and make a nuisance of yourself until they review. (I would, but the form asks for your name and then they'd know I didn't suddenly discover Victoriocity this year. Either that or think I was a very careless editor.) If you've not listened to the podcast yet, you absolutely should. It pings all my Douglas Adams receptors in the best way. If you like HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE, if you like CABIN PRESSURE, VICTORIOCITY is the perfect addition.
HAMMAJANG LUCK by Makana Yamamoto

SLIGHTLY cheating because HAMMAJANG LUCK isn't out in North America until January (pre-orders make great Christmas presents guys), but it IS out in the UK and the rest of the world next week! This is my second big editorial project and it's a Big Gay Space Heist ft. disaster lesbians, trans characters, and a tech billionaire getting put in his place. It's joyous and energetic and crammed full of Hawaiian pidgin as a love letter to the diaspora. @makana-yama is a phenomenal writer and this is their love letter to their communities, families both born and found, while also a statement on the victims of gentrification (and how those are disproportionally BIPOC communities). PLUS:
friends to enemies to cautious allies to lovers
trans cyborgs
Suck It Space Elon
You know that One Scene in Charlie's Angels where Cameron Diaz is in the white body suit and breaking into the safe and has to stretch out to hit two buttons at once? Yeah. That's the vibe.
Being able to work with Makana is a delight, and HAMMAJANG tapped into all the feelings I got watching LEVERAGE for the first time, so I went to watch it again while I was editing. Also OCEAN'S 8.
DEEP BLACK by Miles Cameron

So, barring Branderson, Miles Cameron may be one of our most prolific authors. He writes a minimum two books a year, one SFF and one historical fiction (as Christian Cameron) and he is... An absolute phenomenon. He IS the Chuck Norris meme. I'm obsessed with him. He's former US military intelligence turned naturalised Canadian Hippy, has written over fifty novels, can turn his hand to any genre and write it fantastically, is a practical archaeologist - running large scale re-enactments from a variety of periods ranging from Bronze Age right the way up to the Victorian era, using traditional techniques to allow academics to study how the practicalities of weapons, clothes, food etc. would have worked in practice. Two years ago he won a medieval combat tournament in Verona, a clear ten years older at least than the next oldest competitor, he teaches Historical European Martial Arts, but ties it into the history of martial arts globally. He can make his own clothes, ink, leatherwork. He's a ballet dancer. I once took him for a day out and he ended it in a different shirt and shoes from the ones he'd started in. I asked him for an author photo and he sent me this:
DEEP BLACK is the sequel to his critically acclaimed SF debut ARTIFACT SPACE, where he has taken his research and experience of global historical cultures and extrapolated to create an interplanetary future where the best of all are celebrated. And then Aliens Happen. And then, in reaction, Capitalism Happens (which is covered in the short story collection BEYOND THE FRINGE).
He's such a thoughtful and erudite speaker, if you're curious about his work, I'd recommend listening to his episodes on the Friends Talking Fantasy podcast, and also his appearance on The Publishing Rodeo.
If SF isn't your bag, he's also got:
Arthurian fantasy
Bronze Age fantasy
Medieval Mages fantasy
A CURSE OF CROWS - Lauren Dedroog

I actually inherited Lauren when a colleague of mine departed for fresh pastures, which gave me the great opportunity to work on this series which is so vastly different from my usual fare. It's epic, sweeping, romantic and lush, with such detailed description and complex political machinations, while also being brutal, dark and heavy (tw: for sexual assault, torture etc, etc.). If you like Sarah J Maas and Cassandra Clare, this should hit the sweet spot. Lauren is an ICU nurse when not writing, and this was somehow created when she was putting in a million hours in hospitals during COVID. The feat boggles my mind.
A CURSE OF CROWS is out now in the UK, Australia and Europe, and it won the People's Choice for Standaard Boek's Book of the Year award in 2023, in her home country of Belgium. It will be hitting shelves in North America next September! A DANCE OF SERPENTS is where I get to pick up the editorial mantle, and that has just landed in my inbox this week so I am excited to dig in.
Featuring:
Harold, they're lesbians
Murder baby is actually a cinnamon roll
Sensitive wings are sexy
For serious, though, I'm lucky enough to work with a lot of authors I'm genuinely obsessed and astounded by. And yes, I do get to work on Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson and Andrzej Sapkowski, but they're not MY authors - they're led by the incredible Gillian and Marcus who I'm not 100% certain sleep. There are so many people on the Gollancz list who I could recommend for DAYS (and will, if you so request), but this is my stable of superstars.

Think about the experience of time as a robot girl, through the metaphor of how we use laptops.
You wake up for the first time with your young master, a college present. You're with them every day, powering off each night to charge. Being powered off is just dreamless sleep: a discontinuity. Every morning you wake up, your click syncs, and you know it's the next day. Maybe you miss a day or two: your master went out partying and ended up sleeping on a couch, until they rushedly wake you up before Monday classes begin. You even missed a whole week once when they went on a hiking trip with a new boyfriend.
You help them research upgrades when your specs get outdated. You place the order and a couple days later they power you off, and you wake up feeling like your head got bigger, on the inside. You can think of more things at once.
They repair you. They swap a new hand in when you accidentally crush it in a door, but when your left leg's servos go out, they send you to a repair shop. They power you off as you look up at them, and you wake up hours later. A strange man tells you to extend your left leg, then contract it. He frowns and re-oils some inner mechanism. You do it again, quieter and smoother this time. He nods, and reaches for your switch. The last thing you see before powering down is your own chest cavity with a series of wires hooked into your diagnostic ports, and your missing right leg sitting on a side table. You wake up again back at the dorms, your clock jumping forward a day, an asset tag still looped around your neck. Your master is happy to see you again.
This goes on, but the upgrades slow. There's only so much you can do to keep an old unit working. Eventually you develop more issues: one of your ocular sensors glitches and they don't make that model anymore, so your master just disables it. You spend a while searching ebay for replacement CND batteries and finally get a refurbished model from South England, but it turns out the EU models run on a different frequency, so it won't work. You're limited to fewer and fewer hours a day, and you start skipping more days.
The last time you remember waking up with your master there, there's also someone else in the room. Another robot girl. A newer model, with the new chassis and the Substrate energy packs. They asks you to copy your memories together onto a memory card, and you do. You want to say goodbye, but apparently your vocal synthesizer has been unplugged. You hand them the card, and they hand it to the new robot. Your master tells them to load the memories into her core bank, and she's says "yes sir!" in your voice. Ahh. That's where your voice synth went.
They power you off, and you don't dream.
You wake in a strange place. You're on a shelf, and there's other things scattered around you. An unknown voice days "yep, it seems it powers on. 400 credits, though? Without a voice and only one working eye? Man, value bin doesn't know how to price anything!" and before the blackness falls your clock finishes synching: it's been 7 months since you last were awake.
It happens a few more times. Different voices, different times, different piles of junk piled around and sometimes on you.
You awake again in a warehouse and someone tells you to smile. Your other ocular sensor went out so you can't really see them, just their vague shape from the lidar. The freestanding shelves around you seem to stretch into infinity. You hear a bitcrushed shutter sound sample a few times, and they pull a connector out of your chest as a diagnostic completes. It's been three years, five months, eight days, two hours, 27 minutes and 14 seconds since you last saw your master. Your GPS says you're a few cities over. They hit your power switch, and you sleep.
You wake up in a cluttered room, sitting on a bench. You look into the eyes of a person with frizzled hair and large glasses. She couldn't look happier. Your new ocular sensors are mismatched in color but you're happy to see again, in more than shapes and distant silhouettes. Your battery alerts as... Missing? You spot it on the desk next to a soldering iron and some electronic tool you can't identify.
Your voice synth is still missing, but this new woman is digging around in a large plastic bin, and comes up with one. She goes to insert it, and it can't connect. She slaps her hand and goes rooting around another bin and comes back with an adapter. She slots it into your chest and your voice returns. You thank her, and there's that moment of dissociation as your voice doesn't sound like "you". Too deep, and the accent is for a different dialect entirely. But you can talk again. She tells you to call her Cara, not Mistress. She's almost got your battery working again, she had to rebuild it nearly from scratch, but she's excited to get you working again. You're a rare model, and she doesn't see units like you in working order very often. Your clock syncs. It's been 17 years.
Your mistr-- Cara is soldering next to you, attaching a controller to the battery. She says she's got a new set of servos on the way, and she's excited to get you back to full working condition. You smile, knowing what it is to be loved, once again.

thinking about johnny being completely smitten with an extremely reserved reader <3
johnny was head over heels from the very beginning. he couldnât pinpoint when it had happened, but maybe it was when you first joined the force. at the initial greeting, heâd struck you with one of his bright smiles, only for a blank canvas to stare in return.
you hadnât said a word, not a peep, and while others would be turned off by such reclusiveness, he was in awe.
an enigma, you were, and johnny was someone who loved a good puzzle.
you were cold and distant, but not in the way that was cruel and unnerving. you didnât throw out snarky comments, you didnât show a single bit of rudeness when somebodyâs ticked you off. you werenât hard headed, nor did you pitch a fight. you were a calm sea with peaceful waves lapping at the shore. a light rain on a dry day, one where in ancient times wouldâve been a blessing from the gods. as cold as snow, but the kind that layered the ground in a fresh sheet of white right after a blizzard, painting the earth with powdered beauty.
if anything, you werenât cold at all. you were just so incredibly awkward that johnny couldnât help but be smitten by it.
you were that type of awkward where social cues were nearly impossible for you to comprehend. jokes didnât land quite right whenever somebody made them, and youâd give a blank look to whomever fell victim, added on with a dumb âwhat?â because you didnât understand it.
johnnyâs been an unfortunate victim on many occasions. heâs always the type to nudge you on the shoulder with a crooked grin as he spilled out whatever joke ghost had told him over comms, only to be met with your complete and utter confusion.
that never stopped him, though. if anything, it made him much more determined to search up more jokes on the screen of a burner phone, reading through every single one and noting them in the back of his mind.
you were also as stone-faced as could be. some theorized you were a robot, others thought you were a demon in disguse. an experiment, placed into 141 as a trial run.
really, expressing yourself just wasnât your thing.
you felt emotions, sure. plenty of them. you could find the humor in the occasional bar night with the force, amused at the linger of carefree conversation that carried between the men. you just didnât show it.
it wasnât something you realized until johnny had made the point of asking you if you ever smiled. thinking back on it, you recalled never directly doing so. youâd do it in your head, but when it came down to it, no, no you didnât.
johnny was determined when keeping a goal in mind, and found himself ruthlessly running towards that goal of seeing you smile. he was enamored in the thought of seeing the slant of your lips when they curved upwards, in seeing your eyes crinkle and glimmer with delight, and heâd go through every single joke website in order to make it happen.
it took him an approximate year of you being in the force to get it to work.
it was lame, really. hardly one of his best jokes, heâd drunkenly slurred out, âwhat rank are all cats in the army? corpurrral,â with a tongue roll effect to go with it.
you had burst into laughter, filling the bar air with ringing church bells that he swore made the drunken state of his mind believe he was truly on his way to heaven. the gates had opened, inviting him in. he was levitating, slowly floating his way to the clouds.
your smile was like a breath of air â refreshing. it filled his lungs with such purity that all the cigarettes heâd smoked over the years of being in the force seemingly melted the thick layer of tar away, leaving him clean and refurbished.
it was like a drug, and johnny found himself seeking more out to get another taste, even if it took him another year to do so.
this is lowkey self insert bc this is my personality offline and i think other people who are so painfully awkward with socializing are cute and deserve love. wrote this with no sleep and a dream, silly ramble before i go to bed
i also just really love johnny, goodnight

Rumble vs Ranger R8: Beck vs Pink!
Rumble Fighter info here
Actiranger Info here
BECK A fierce tomboy warrior at the heart of Rumble: After Dark, Beck was trained by their supervillain father to be a living weapon, but escaped after said villain's defeat and now Beck lives with SH0-T0, a refurbished experimental training robot, finding quiet work at a run-down local gym. Despite their better judgement, they both find themselves drawn into the underground fighting scene. Beck is a powerful and high-impact rush down character with a balanced array of approach options and high-damage combos. Beck's usually the type to leave opponent's breathless.
ACTIRANGER PINK A wealthy heiress and sniping ace of the ActiRanger team. Her ActiRanger powers are centered on golf (The Sport of the Wind), allowing her astonishingly precise long-range shots and remarkable evasive abilities. Pink is cool and composed loner with a prickly personality. Fitting her personality, she doesn't like to let people get too close, (friend and foe alike) relying on powerful ranged attacks and even in melee she uses the exceptional reach of her golf clubs to keep fights at a favorable distance.

idk what this is. i like robots. iâll clean these up later. i think.
anyways while drawing these I started thinking abt like. idk does this count as an AU.
General shit:
I didn't make it clear, but the robots that have pupils were built without a hardcoded purpose. They've always been free to explore what they want to do. The robots with fully colored "scleras" were created with a purpose from the jump, so their creators didn't feel the need to make them appear more "human".
The more expensive a robot's parts are, the less clunky it is.
Right now, I'm going with "their human family built them" but that's liable to change.
The designs are also liable to change because uh. duh.
Celestia Ludenberg:
Viewed the robots with an imbued purpose as interesting and superior (something something humanity's advancement). She wants to be praised like that, so she emulates them
Her cat loves how much heat she radiates so it's always near her.
Most of her upgrades are cosmetic but if they aren't, they're stupid. She won't upgrade her CPU or her motherboard, but she'll load up with three 4090s that her other components can't even keep up with. Yes, she does it to flex.
She'll distract from bootleg, refurbished, or shoddily painted parts by turning on her RGB. It gets annoying.
She knows that she's fairly unsettling and she revels in it.
All things considered, her cable management is pretty good.
Her gambling skill is still just luck here, but she tells everyone it's because she has a never-seen-before GPU(& CPU) that does calculations at insane speeds.
Most don't believe her but have no way to disprove her lie.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
I can't decide if he was built by his father or his grandfather.
Either way, he was built before Toranosuke's downfall, so his internals were all pretty expensive for the time. Luckily for him, that means he was slightly future-proof and has a viable upgrade path.
Unluckily for him, this means he's stuck with really old parts and his 8gb of RAM can barely keep up in a 32gb world sadge
His chassis is built from secondhand or scrap parts. It's why his joints are so ancient in comparison to the rest of him and why he has so much cabling that he can't seem to manage.
Shit chassis = shit airflow = he is always overheating
BUDDY IS YOUR CPU BURNING HOW IS THERE SMOKE
Older tech = LOUD AF. The class bought him new fans to avoid the loud ass whirring. It's not quiet but he used to sound like a jet engine.
He runs on Debian. It was originally going to be Arch since it's lightweight but Debian's whole "old but stable" reputation fits him more. I don't see him properly dealing with bleeding edge software anyways.
His room is filled with past HDDs that no longer have storage. He deems all educational material important so he refuses to delete any lessons. He doesn't have the money for SSDs.
Mukuro Ikusaba:
Is usually in reconnaissance mode, meaning she has a shit ton of hidden cameras in her chassis
This used to benefit Fenrir. Now it benefits Junko.
She can have her parts shifted around with no issue to make room for a better arsenal.
Sheâs durable in her reconnaissance mode but sheâs nigh on untouchable in her combat mode. Her chassis gets 10x bulkier and she can split her attention to several different tasks on the battlefield.
Fenrir Mercenary Group doubles as a weapons company. Mukuro is the only model of her kind though.
They tried to give her reconnaissance model the look of a ânormal girlâ so she could gather info more efficiently. They failed real bad. They also didnât account for the fact that Mukuro isnât good at socializing.
She allocates a CPU core to a process dedicated to Junko. 24/7 365
She believes herself to be less capable of emotion than she actually is. She canât seem to find the system process that triggers such painful emotions.
Chihiro Fujisaki
Each âfoldâ in her skirt doubles as a screen. Think of the skirt as having two layers: the top shell and the under shell. The top shell is what doubles as a screen.
Optimized her hardware to work on code as fast as possible (fingers, skirt, etc).
She tends to test out new software on herself regardless of their compatibility with her pre-existing shit. She constantly has to reinstall her OS, but itâs all fun for her.
Speaking of her OS, I was going to make her run on Gentoo but IDK cause of the compile times. Itâd be faster if she used distcc but I canât see her screwing over her classmates like that lol.
So Iâm between Nix and Arch.
Insecure about the fact that she overhauled her original model so extensively. Got made fun of for being a âdefectiveâ robot. Her father supports her modifications but she still feels bad about having âfailedâ somehow.
Cue identity issues
She helps out her classmates when it comes to repairs.
Tendency to stay up programming leads to high uptimes. If her friends notice her lagging or crashing, theyâll try to get her to shut down. (In a computer sense lol, not an emotional shut down)
Do yâall remember the xz utils backdoor? Yeah thatâs how extensively she combs through code.
Sayaka Maizono
I canât decide if she was built to be an idol or was originally some other type of robot.
Loves to make kids smile, so she has a sort of candy mechanism in her arm.
Everything about her glows or spins. You will never get bored looking at her.
Her skirt isnât actually see through I just didnât feel like erasing the hip joints lmao.
If corpos give her manager enough money, she has to perform with literal ads on her.
State-of-the art facial recognition software. It makes her fans feel special to have their names remembered.
She has a regular sleep cycle due to how load-intensive her everyday life is. Has to shut down for a couple hours every week at least.
Her psychic ability is just her running a million calculations based on peopleâs behavior and sensing which one is most plausible. This feature is in place to avoid PR disasters during interviews or public appearances.
There really arenât enough workerâs rights regulations in place for robots.
The company gets alerts whenever she freaks tf out, so she feels even more stifled and repressed. Chihiro helped remove this.
Kyoko Kirigiri
Canât decide if she was built by her father or grandfather. Probably just built by Jin and he âleftâ her in Fuhitoâs care.
Fuhito made her go through several modifications, hardcoding his own investigative skills into her system.
Her grandfather loves her but has fucked up ideas about her own autonomy.
The events of DR:K still happen. She chose not to replace her hands.
Fuhito doesnât make much use of a backdoor in her system anymore. He used it a lot more when she was a child but he sees her as a viable heir of the Kirigiri clan now. Chihiro isolated the backdoor to a separate SSD anyhow.
Still complicated father-daughter issues
Everything about her (but her OS) is proprietary, probably commissioned from Towa Industries. Her OS is a fork of Mint. The Windows 7 UI is just because I imagine her grandfather is One of Those lmao.
Has way too many scanners and sensors. She canât test any evidence herself but she can gather a fair bit of information. Has a vast database for cross-comparison anyways.
Same issues as Togami and Mukuro: sees herself as less capable of emotion than she actually is.
The ramen noodle incident called for actual repairs.
Byakuya Togami
His superiority complex is far worse because he was literally CREATED to be the perfect Togami. You canât tell him shiiiiiiit.
Gold joints. Scoffs at those with unoptimized cable management or software.
Heâs constantly streamlining his own processes. Brings up that he runs on his own OS when Nobody Asked.
Had a similar backdoor to Kyokoâs but Koji did check that one. Obsessively. Nobody would tell Byakuya but He Just Knew. The lack of privacy irritated him. Aloysius helped fix it once Togami finally took over.
Only trusts Aloysius with his repairs. Has a hard time admitting when he needs repairs in the first place so Aloysius hides it under âmonthly maintenanceâ.
Does everything from the terminal even when he 1) shouldnât and 2) canât. Bragging rights. He has written a bunch of his own scripts though to speed things up.
Kernel and OS provided to him by Koji. (UNIX-based. Proprietary) Byakuya maintains and builds his own updates. Doesnât trust cheapskate peasants to do it for him.
Anti-FOSS. For him at least.
Has glasses for the aesthetics. Doesnât need them.
#this blog uses she/her for chihiro btw#getting weird with itttttt#it started with Celestia and spiraled from there#I have designs for the others but yawn later#trigger happy havoc#danganronpa#chihiro fujisaki#kiyotaka ishimaru#sayaka maizono#byakuya togami#kyoko kirigiri#celestia ludenberg#mukuro ikusaba#robot au#<- tagging in case I actually continue this lol#horse_art

Thinking about robotgirls. Imagine having a fan that whirl up or down depending on if you're anxious or excited or relaxed, making that clicking sound hard disks make (which I know wouldn't be suited for a robot but i like the idea ok) whenever you think or try and remember something, getting your components refurbished like a spa day or manicure or even going out and buying a new shiny component as a treat. Being able to make physical adjustments to yourself or have someone else fiddle around with your workings inside. Making out with someone and they know you're into it because every component is buzzing and whiring and running at full power. Having to be plugged in but not necessarily needing to sleep and for briefer periods than humans, yet you still choose to sleep with your human gf/bf so you can be together. Talking with other robot girls about the components you use and new things you're trying out.

How sams mer au eclipse came to be? Like how he was created and did he met sun and moon?
Eclipse was originally a Sun AND a Moon from a fazbear location that got shut down. They were both decomissioned (which for robots is a death sentence) but their remains, including the chips were eventually bought by a guy who refurbishes robots and sells them on. Both of them were beyond repair equally, Moon more so than Sun so Sun's body/chip was fixed up using the remaining code from Moon's chip and parts from his body. As a result, Eclipse's frame is taller than Sun used to be but still shorter than Moon once was.
However due to the nature of dca models being designed to be a paired ai, Eclipse did have an expiry date as it was expected he would not last more than three years tops without another dca model to be paired with. So after being fixed up and repainted Eclipse was put up for sale and bought by a shady fishing company, which eventually leads to him meeting Ruin!

robot tmbg okay okay. let me cook i want to explain this. john linnell is NOT a robot actually hes an automaton. which are very similar but still a little different. he's an older one probably from the late 1800s eventually refurbished sometime in the 70s or 80s that plays accordion (think the vaucanson automat flute player or floutiste) mainly made of wood and the rustiest metal around. hes very uncanny looking and as a mix of this and this novelty of something like an automaton being able to play the accordion he's often brought out as bizarre entertainment. too polite he says he hates it. too shy to sing despite gaining rudimentary vocal chords during his refurbishment
john flansburgh is an actual industrial-grade capital r Robot. personally i see him as a kind of cheesy looking robot almost like the ones from RUR but you know. just generally the idea is that he is a bit newer and perhaps more modern than linnell. he has printing capabilities (i think he has a miniature printing press of sorts in his torso compartment) and absolutely artistic ones but he keeps getting stuck at factory jobs where all he does is Sort Thing. refine Thing. process Thing. hes pretty pissed off about this and very rightfully so. lucky thing he has enough control over his hands to play the guitar i suppose!
anyways i think they form tmbg for kind of obvious reasons. both are wronged by the world in distinctly different ways and almost envy the role the other gets to play but are brought together by this and write their Soungs yay <3 yayyy
okay more about robot stuffs bc i apparently care. flansburgh doesnt really need glasses because he doesnt have Human Eyes but he wears them almost as like a statement? i do really think his vision is a little jacked up and i think hes very peeved that its considered to not matter because he doesnt "need it" but the glasses dont really fix it. i think the way he dresses is likely super similar to how the human workers dressed anyways. so its kind of part of that
linnell is. kind of falling apart? his paint is chipped and his hair (wig basically) is kind of messy but his torso and arms aren't particularly pretty. his strings and joints arent covered up in the slightest and his vocal chords werent installed in a particularly seamless way. this is probably one of the reasons why he adopted turtlenecks. they hide a bunch of that sort of thing.
the way the two of them read music is super duper different. flansburgh's memory works a tiny bit like an old casio where chords and notes can just be Saved and either thats it and he keeps them in there or he's keeping track of that data in the form of things a little more like midi files and stored on things much more similar to floppies and lazerdiscs. i havent decided dont look at me. anyways linnell still uses a musicbox-like wheel system. its decently small (this may contribute to their songs being under 3 minutes so often admittedly) but it is still kind of impractical for storage. flansburgh nags him to just get a more efficient system installed and he doesnt do it definitely NOT because he doesnt want a bunch of hands in him. hes actually not freaked out by that at all and doesnt mind it in the slightest.
i think a lot of their aging process is just. Thing broke down and needs to be repaired. almost paradoxically though flansburgh is newer he is in need of more repair than linnell who has kind of been perpetually near-broken since they started playing. he holds out for a while but still has to get a few things done over time. i think flansburgh eventually drags him to a shop when his wheel reading system starts getting choppy and he clearly starts writing Around certain notes to avoid playing them. he complains about getting fixed the whole way home (to their once shared and now two seperate supply closets)
they still marry human women

relationship hcs ; tessa elliot

requested by ; anonymous (07/02/25)
fandom(s) ; murder drones
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; tessa
outline ; âCan you do Tessa (from murder drones) dating/romantic headcannons? :3 also love your work and how Cannon it feels, keep up the good work and don't forget to take care of yourself and take breaks <333â
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
before the two of you became an item, tessa had a habit of talking about you to the drones in her familyâs estate (particularly n and v). she could spend hours ranting about how cool and cute you are and how scared she is to confess lest she jeopardise the one friendship sheâs managed to cultivate with another human, all the while trying to figure out which outfit to put each of her robotic friends into â all of whom are all very encouraging of her efforts to confess and deeply sympathetic to her anxieties
(except for cyn who⊠well⊠she does try to mimic empathy in her own way but generally she ends up wandering off to do god-knows-what whenever tessa starts talking about you so itâs whatever)
n, loudmouth that he is, is the reason why youâll end up finding out about this little habit of hers because he let slip in conversation (while showing you to your room) that he was excited to finally meet the person tess has been gushing about for so long⊠at least he was apologetic once he realised that he probably shouldnât have said that part out loud
sheâs very big on pet names and will rarely ever use your actual name when speaking to you, usually cycling through a series of terms of endearment that range from stupid to sweet depending on what youâre doing at the time and how sappy sheâs feeling. likewise she prefers it when you call her something a bit more affectionate than her own name, but sheâs not especially picky about whether you settle on a proper pet name or just call her a shortened version of her first name.
she puts her familyâs wealth to good use by spoiling you rotten whenever she gets the chance â and sheâs gotten very good at justifying her purchases to her parents whenever sheâs questioned on them. and rest assured that she keeps each and every gift and letter you give her in return because theyâre all reminders that thereâs someone out there that truly, unconditionally, adores her despite all of her quirks that her family finds fault with â itâs just⊠yeah⊠she really does love you
dates with tessa tend to go one of two ways unless you take over the planning â route a involves going to the local dump to look for more worker drones to save and refurbish (her favourite activity by far, made even better by your company), and route b involves staying at home (yours or hers) and relaxing together⊠which mainly only happens when she knows sheâs being monitored or when her wrist is acting up too much for her to reasonably go out looking for robots to fix
sheâs pretty neutral about engaging in pda with you â not because she doesnât want to or because she doesnât enjoy it (far from it, in fact), but rather because her upbringing has led her to be extremely cautious about how she presents herself in front of others⊠and her parents are both more than willing to punish her if they see her acting improper or otherwise out of line. so youâll have to settle for sneaky cheek kisses when nobody is looking and holding hands under the dinner table until youâre on your own once again
when youâre alone with her, and especially when youâre out and about outside of the elliot family manor, youâll find tessa to be an extremely playful girlfriend. she loves joking around with you and making you laugh, and also loves the efforts you go through in order to lighten her mood in return
hates having to go out and socialise with people at the parties her parents host, but having you there with her makes it a lot more bearable from her perspective so she has been known to beg you to accompany her or, failing that, to either drag you there herself or to use you as an excuse not to attend
(after all, surely her parents can empathise with her need to take care of her âsickâ partner⊠right?⊠maybe?)
she knows what itâs like to have your passions and interests put down and dismissed by the people in your life, so when it comes to the things you love and want to pursue you can guarantee that sheâs going to be there cheering you on as loudly and passionately as possible. sheâs your number one cheerleader and refuses to let you get discouraged by others⊠partially because she just is that supportive of a girlfriend, and partially because she knows youâll do the exact same thing for her when she gets the chance to break free from the (metaphorical and literal) chains her parents have on her

Meet Constance!
Constance is actually a personal oc from my own personal world called Plague Doctor that I brought into Ninjago cuz i had been wanting to design a robot oc and decided, why not use Constance since she's my baby girl
So here she is!
(Was gonna do clean lineart, but then realized i have zero patience for it lol)
She does have different color palette and backstory compared to my own universe to make sure she fits in
So let's get to know her, shall we >:3
____
Constance (or C0z-C1.0, C0z for short) is a servant android who's original blueprints were made by ???.
She was originally supposed to be a testing model for a now discontinued line of very advanced servant androids, a project that was shut down by Emperor Levo after being presented to him, who felt that it was unnecessary. She ended up being the only one built of her type before the project was cut short and everything associated it was to be destroyed, disposed or refurbished for something else
Because they had already built her she was allowed to be kept. She essentially became a servent/helper of multiple departments moving around and lending aide when necessary. She wasnt treated the best but it wasnt that bad. This continued for quite a few years until...Beatrix.
When she came into power she had C0z become solely her servant, sticking by her side and obeying her every whim. Under Beatrix's control, C0z was treated way worse than before and despite confusion to the sudden change C0z saw this as normal.
At the peak of the battle when Beatrix was facing off against the Ninja, C0z was shut down and sealed away so that she wouldn't interfere and when the merge quakes happened the lil pod she was sealed into was sucked in sending her off to who knows where.
Her pod was eventually discovered by Jay who had just become a Rogue and was traveling on his own tryna find his place in the world. He had set her free from the pod in his curiosity. Once C0z was free from her pod and awoken, she mistakenly took Jay as her new master much to his confusion. Once she explained her role he then proclaimed that she no longer had to listen to anyone and that she could choose her own life and promptly left.
He had no intention on sticking around, but she immediately followed him still convinced he was her master and kept proclaiming that she wasn't to leave her masters side. No matter what he did to evade her she would always find him somehow. This kept up for quite sometimes until he eventually gave up and accepted he's stuck with her.
So now, she currently travels with Jay (or Rogue) and they work to help eachother out. Jay tries his best to show Constance that she has her own free will and that she doesn't need to listen to him or anyone(with very little patience for it btw lol). That she has the choice. Constance helps him by giving him someone to care for(not that he would ever admit that outloud) which may or may not lead to memories coming back.
..It's a long work in progress and she's definitely not making it any easier
