what i think the marauders would wear to the eras tour - couples edition (plus pandora because i refuse to exclude her)

james + regulus: james would dress as sunshine and regulus would dress as midnight rain. glitter & sparkles everywhere, regulus in customised doc matrens and james in yellow converse. which is kinda self explanatory.

sirius + remus: sirius would dress as miss americana and remus would dress as the heartbreak prince. sirius would have a tiara and a pretty pink dress and heels, and remus would be wearing a navy-ish suit with broken hearts sewn on with a crown and his normal black doc martens.

marlene + dorcas: marlene would be wearing a replica of taylor’s “22” outfit with those new high heeled converse and dorcas would wear a replica of taylor’s reputation outfit (which pandora made for her) with custom bejewelled heels.

barty + evan: barty and evan would be dressed as twin flames (“did the twin flame bruise paint you blue”) in fire emoji costumes with orange and yellow glitter all over them. they’d both have bedazzled cowboy boots, courtesy of dorcas.

lily + mary: lily would be dressed in her own version of taylor’s green folklore dress, with matching light green embroidered converse. mary would be wearing a dupe of taylor’s orange evermore dress with some soft brown cowboy boots.

pandora: pandora would be wearing a baby pink prom dress that has blue, darker pink & red hearts scattered throughout it (she made it herself) with cute little pink heels and a flower crown that she made herself from her garden.

the marauders:

james - i don't think he'd have much of an opinion her tbh. i can see james listening to shake it off REGLIGIOUSLY, but other than some more tracks from 1989?? not much 🤷‍♀️

sirius - i genuinely don't think he'd care much for taylor at all. her music isn't his thing, but eventually remus would convince him to listen to some of speak now and i think he'd like 'haunted (taylor's version)' as well as 'mine' and a few other sappy love songs from some other albums that he associates with remus <3

remus - folklore is HIS ALBUM, okay? he listens to it daily, sometimes listening to evermore as well. remus prefers her softer, more lyrical music (this includes songs like 'new years day' as well as even 'dear reader' bc he'd relate a lot i think!!)

peter - like sirius, peter doesn't really listen to her music, and therefore doesn't have any opinion on her music. but if anybody turns her music on, he won't turn it off bc he does vibe with some songs (mainly the popular tracks, because i don't see him properly listening to a lot of her discography because he just prefers other music)

the valkeyries:

lily - the og swiftie of the entire friend group. she listens to taylor swift religiously and LOVES folklore (she was the one who introduced remus to her music and that album), as well as reputation (bc who doesn't, honestly?). her favourite songs from folklore are 'the lakes' and 'invisible string' !!

mary - forced swiftie i fear (she likes to joke that lily makes her listen to taylor all the time, but really mary also enjoys the music). she's a huge fearless tv girl and her favourite songs are 'the way i loved you' and 'jump then fall,' not just bc she might relate to either, but she just likes them!!

marlene - doesn't love taylor's music, but wouldn't turn it off if it came on 🤷‍♀️ she spends a lot of time listening to it bc of lily and mary, so she knows a lot of the lyrics, but she wouldn't listen to it herself, if yk what i mean!!

anyways here’s the marauders era characters at a taylor swift themed birthday party

gosh, that’s a lengthy title

lily evans is our birthday girl!! (wish her happy birthday!! >:( )

regulus black does NOT want to there, but james dragged him out of his hibernation cabin (his room). he’s in a black and white suit, and a snake ring. he refused to wear any color or do anything else taylor swift related.

sirius black is very excited to be there, unlike his brother. james still had to drag him out of his room because he is not a morning person. many pillows were thrown at james’ face that morning. hes also wearing a black and white suit but with a dark green tie, shoes, and an assortment of reputation rings.

barty crouch was invited by regulus as plus one as long as he behaved. (he did NOT behave, he threw up on the pavement due to too much drinking). he’s wearing black button up shirt and a leather miniskirt. he dyed his hair a streak of purple in honor of speak now. lily hated his outfit, but he was too busy partying to care.

lily evans, our lovely birthday girl, was in a green dress, her curls pinned up, and in cowboy boots. her nails were a beautiful teal color.

remus lupin obviously wanted to go, he loves his best friend, lily evans. however, he was very stressed about what to wear. “eras tour attire?!? lily, what even is that??” he exclaimed when he got the invite. with the help of lily and sirius, he found himself in a folklore cardigan, grey dress pants, a button up shirt, and grey dress shoes. he hated the outfit, “who wears a cardigan over a button up shirt?” he thought, but shut his mouth in support for lily.

mary macdonald was very, very excited for her best friends’ party. like barty, she also wanted to dress up for speak now. however, she took another approach with a purple ballgown, her curls with bows in them, and heels. she was very scared of upstaging her best friend. she checked many times that lily was okay with her outfit. lily being lily loved it and was happy that there were some of her friends who actually dressed up nice.

marlene mckinnon didn’t know much about taylor swift, but she was ready with the help of mary and lily. she opted for a big red shirt that stated “a lot going on right now”, little ripped black shorts and red sneakers. “are you sure i’m not underdressed,” she asked mary when seeing her ball gown. “no, you look lovely,” lily exclaimed, clapping her hands together.

dorcas meadows also didn’t know much about taylor swift, but she was assisted by Pinterest. she had created a board just for this event. she wore a long, flowly yellow dress and cowboy boots, representing the fearless era.

peter pettigrew wasn’t very excited to go. he loved lily and all that, but he didn’t know what to wear at all. he settled on a big, brown sweater and pants for evermore. lily let him borrow a necklace that had “evermore” written in gold, cursive letters.

james potter was very excited to go, in support of his girlfriend/friend (ur choice if u ship jily or not). he woke up bright and early, even before lily. he wore a red sweater and black dress pants, along with his spider-man sneakers. lily did not approve of his shoe choice, but didn’t say anything.

evan rosier was not invited, but came as bartys plus one. lily was very frustrated, saying that barty was a plus one, and that plus ones don’t get to invite other people. she was also remarking that there wasn’t enough food for them. so, evan came with a basket of his own snacks for him and his boyfriend, barty. he wore a white vest with black details and a white colored shirt under, along with white dress pants and black shoes. lily did not appreciate that he didn’t come as an era, but she was happy that he was dressed so formally. he also was the one to pat barry’s back as he puked.

pandora was not invited but evan took her as his plus one. lily was very angry to see that evan also brought someone with him. but, pandora was the most normal out of her, barty, and evan, so lily held her tongue. she wore a pink, heart resin top and a flowly white skirt. she had heart clips in her braids. lily even complimented her outfit.

predictably, the night was very chaotic.

james: fearless (tv)

i mean, fearless meets hey stephen meets you belong with me meets the best day meets that’s when is literally, genuinely, HIM. he’d like the slight country-ness of it all, due to how it’s only given in small portions but is still there. the theme of falling head over heels in love but it not working out would go so well with him and his character </3 he’d listen to it like almost every day.

sirius: lover

if he was asked this, he’d die, and probably go for reputation. a safe option. but he doesn’t know himself like i do. he’d be screaaaaaaming the lyrics to ‘i think he knows’ whenever he could, he’d cry to lover, relate to the archer, daylight, and afterglow on a spiritual level, and never get sick of cruel summer. like. ever. that’s just how it is!!! lover was the first album he listened to after lily introduced it to him and it’s therefore very special to him

remus: evermore

i know like literally everyone would say folklore because of cardigan and peace and hoax etc etc but?? to me evermore feels more like him. none of the songs necessarily describe him, but marjorie and ivy and cowboy like me and ‘tis the damn season feel so like him. also, this might be because i cannot help but see wolfstar as a very very loving couple and gold rush and long story short and willow are like invisible string’s sisters. evermore is folklore’s younger sister as well, and sort of shifts between being more and less emotionally intelligent than folklore so it just fits him to me.

peter: speak now

there’s very little he knows better than revenge. but also, he feels like such a romantic to me. i know he’s so often headcanoned as aro and/or ace, but i’ve never found myself agreeing, as you can now tell. i feel like he would not handle change well at all and songs like never grow up and even (in my opinion) back to december portray that. plus he’d just love the genres😭

lily: 1989

where do i even BEGIN. clean is a huge reason for it, since she’s had to let go of so many shitty people in her life, but she also seems like such a dreamer and wished to move to a huge city when she grew up, and therefore fell in love with welcome to new york very easily. she loves a messy but true love kinda trope (literally all the songs on there), with hints of purity here and there (you are in love), but she also loves people being able to get proper mad and a lil unhinged about things (blank space, bad blood). besides. she’s very pop. in the best way. plus, she’s the hugest swiftie of them, of course she chooses 1989.

marlene: folklore

she knows how to feel pain, she knows it well. but she does it with so much hope. like, yeah, maybe today was exhausting and the past week really sucked and life feels awful. but that’s not where it ends…? it can’t be. and she feels very reflective. and very romantic. and SO passionate, about both things and people she loves, as well as herself and her own potential. i guess that’s a bit of a controversial marlene characterisation but, no, i don’t want to give her that mean and tough lesbian trope.

dorcas: reputation

very protective of things and people, but in a truly romantic way. she knows how to stand up for herself, maybe not as intensely as the narrator of rep, but the passion is there for sure. and she’s SO romantic, her fav off the album is probably call it what you want. dress is very dorlene, dancing with our hands tied is very dorlene, call it what you want is very dorlene, and in my opinion marlene fell first but dorcas fell harder and that fits the whole purpose and message of reputation very well to me.

mary: red (tv)

just being in the middle of a transition from country into pop is very mary, i can’t explain it but it’s just her. her loving red is very complimentary to lily loving 1989 as well. she’s probably sobbed to every single song on the album for different reasons in different occasions, and i think by as early as the first minute of state of grace she was just…. completely sold. this connection isn’t one i can really analyse or explain or justify, it just makes tons of sense to me, how it’d be her complete fave from day one. begin again, treacherous, the lucky one, holy ground, babe…. ah. it’s perfect for her.

Peter: 2006 self titled taylor. i don’t think this needs an explanation- but i’m gonna give one anyway. boo is still finding his feet, he’s trying and he’s on the start of a great path. until he fucks it up and gets his besties killed. point is, if he made the right choices he would have gotten far. peter only gets one era because he may be misunderstood but he’s also a dick. that’s just a fact.

Remus: both 2009 fearless and 2019 lover. my boy remus, he progressively becomes more and more confident and comfortable with himself, whilst also sometimes isolating himself, only to make a big comeback. life’s taught him a few things, and he’s up for sharing it.

James: both 2014 1989 and 2017 reputation. he lets himself have those dramatic moments in life that we all need (sometimes maybe a bit too much). he can get vulnerable and emotional, especially about love. he’s made some moves that at the time seemed questionable but looking back on them, some are actually better than you realised. he’s also not opposed to passive aggressive ways of saying fuck you.

Sirius: 2012 red and 2020 folklore. he’s definitely felt the sadness that red radiates, but he puts that sadness and anger to good. he 100% channels those emotions into creative (whether that be music or art) and expresses himself as a form of stress relief. this man knows how to get angry, and he’s not afraid to show it. as a general rule i feel he’d be more passive aggressive than furious, but when someone does something that just makes him explode, you. will. know. he will let it be known to the world that you screwed him over, and because this is both sirius black and taylor swift’s world that we live in, everyone else will slowly start to hate you too.

also lily radiates evermore energy. no explanation needed. it’s just a fact.

Oh, don't worry, I wasn't overworking myself. It's called bedtime procrastination or revenge procrastination. It's such a harmful lovely way of coping with stress, ha. But anyway, reading Midnights helped me to decompress a little, so it was good.

Aaaaand I finished, so I'm here to scream a little more:

1. My poor baby in the rain. I desire that this Orion always finds his socks wet and his coffee bitter, for ever and ever. But yay, I got that song too.

2. And now we have Black brothers comfort. 💜 Aaaaand then angst again, of course. Oh, the Black Brothers roller coaster. But I have to say that this part: "Sirius loved himself a whole lot more than he would ever love Regulus. And he couldn't even blame him for that, since Regulus also loved Sirius a whole lot more than he would ever love himself." hit specially close to home although I don't remember seeing it written so clearly: Yep, Sirius loves himself first and yep, Regulus loves himself last (or he doesn't at all, actually).

3. Every time I read "wisteria" I start to sing -~ I want to watch wisteria grow right over my bare feet ~ I know, I know, wrong album but... couldn't help it.

4. Mischievous Remus, yes, yes, yes. Gimme more mischievous Remus. He knows, of course he does.

5. Picture to burn. That was easy to catch.

6. And then we have "What a rainy ending given to a perfect day." to tied everything together with Cold as you again.

And that's it. Those are my screams for the time being. And yaaay (?), I got four songs, hurra me (yep, I took it slightly as a challenge).

I'm loving this so much (I knew I would but it's even better). Your Reg is so beautiful, so sharp and hard like glass and at the same time tender and slightly broken, like a rag doll that's becoming undone at the seams.

Not pressure but I can't wait to see the next one! And I'll be UNSUFFERABLE when you get to Red, or worst, Reputation. Hope you don't get tired of me until that 😅
