I made a WEBTOON!
I have come to realize I can’t stay focused enough to commit to a story so I decided to make mini comics about my special interest ✨Greek mythology✨ and things connected to it such as the game hades, dislyte, record of ragnarok, blood of Zeus, Percy Jackson, epic the musical and some of my own work. I’ll also include some other mythology such as journey to the west and what ever is in dislyte but mostly Greek.
I hope you all like this, ody out!
(Edit: I got the link to work!)

ANNOUNCEMENT: ✨I’m so happy to announce that my short story inspired by the Norse Myths has been accepted for publication in The Mythic Circle by The Mythopoeic Society! 🤩
This tale about Loki and Sigyn that I wrote is really special to my heart and I can’t wait to share it with the world! ☺️♥️
Here’s a moodboard that I made to capture the story’s aesthetic and aura and here’s a short blurb:
the story’s blurb: Sigyn, the wife of Loki & goddess of mercy & loyalty, considers whether she is being admirably loyal or foolish for staying by her husband’s side. If she stays, she loses the future of her eternal life. If she leaves Loki, she risks losing him forever.💔✨
I’ll keep everyone posted about this publication and when & where you can get your copy! 📚
Thank you all for your support! 🥰 My (published) author adventures are just beginning! 🌟

Adult! Vali
Tumblr media
So this went from me trying to do a redesign of my versions of Vali and Narfi to drawing my version of adult Vali. Anyways here’s Adult! Vali he was turned back to normal after Thrud and Gersemi found him as a wolf then took him to Freya. As an adult he took after both Sigyn and Loki a little bit personality wise. While still cocky he definitely has more of blatant/visible softer side to him then either of his parents. Vali ends up marrying one of the surviving valkyries(not Thrud though ,but the two date for a short period of time Post- Ragnarok before they realize they’re just better off as friends rather than lovers). Vali does reconnect with his mother and Sigyn is just happy that he’s alive. The two mourn their loses together and while Vali stays in Asgard with his family he still visits his mother in Vanaheim when he can. Sigyn also ends up giving Vali her old coat.

Breaking SJM news: a completely new series is (likely) on the way !!
Last night, I came across a veryyyy interesting YouTube video posted by Bloomsbury 4 weeks ago. Although the video was mostly super boring (talking numbers and finances), towards the end, we get this little nugget of information...
[Bloomsbury staff member]: "Regarding the timeline and future Sarah J Maas book releases, which are obviously very important to us... so her next title, which is the third in her Crescent City series, comes out on the 30th of January, 2024. So, that will fall into this financial year."
[Bloomsbury staff member]: "And thereafter, we have SIX further contracted titles -- so continuing this series, and STARTING A NEW SERIES AS WELL."
A new series! This likely goes hand-in-hand with the announcement made by Bloomsbury a couple of months prior, in which they stated that 4 additional SJM books were on the way (but curiously, no further details about these books were given...)
Although we don't know for sure, this is my guess as to what these 6 future SJM books are:
2 x ACOTAR books.
Then the 4 remaining, newly contracted books; the first being the final Crescent City book, House of Many Waters.
Leaving 3 x books for the new series (which makes perfect sense, as when starting a new series, SJM is always contracted for 3 books initially).
The question remains as to what exactly this new series may be. Which leads me to... Twilight of the Gods.
[SJM universe spoilers ahead!]
Back in 2015, SJM started a Pinterest board for 2 new book series that were connected in some way; one was Crescent City, and the other was called Twilight of the Gods.
Tumblr media
On her Twitter, SJM also mentioned that she had been working on both for quite a while, and that it was soon time to release them into the world.
Tumblr media
Around the same time, a series called 'Twilight of the Gods' was mysteriously added to SJM's official Goodreads catalogue.
Tumblr media
'Twilight of the Gods' is another term for Ragnarok; a famed tale of Norse mythology where the Gods and giants/demons across all worlds joined together to fight a giant battle that signified the end of the world.
Tumblr media
Thus, I believe that 'Twilight of the Gods' is SJM's next series; it will be a Ragnarok retelling, and all of the characters from TOG, ACOTAR and CC will join together for a cataclysmic battle against the Asteri, the Daglan, and the Valg (because lets not forget that Orcus and Mantyx are still unaccounted for...).
With this in mind, consider the numerous references to Norse mythology that SJM has already scattered throughout her books:
Feyre as Freya: Freya was perhaps one of the most renowned Norse goddesses, and was Queen.
Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn as the Valkyries: An obvious one, but the Valkyries originated from, and had a huge part to play in Norse Mythology (Ragnarok especially).
Lucien as Loki: According to Norse mythology, Loki is often depicted with long, red hair. He is also seen as a God of fire, and is commonly associated with foxes.
Danika (Fendyr) and Fenrys as Fenrir: Fenrir was a renowned monstrous wolf of Norse mythology. Fenrir being 'unleashed' is one of the key events of Ragnarok.
Hunt as Thor ('Thurr'): During Ragnarok, Thor has a famous battle against the 'Midgard Serpent.' Consider the snake that Hunt is holding on the cover of HOSAB.
Midgard: is the 'Earth' world in Norse mythology.
Hel (spelt the same way): Is the 'underworld' of Norse mythology.
Further, if you looked at SJM's "Twilight of the Gods" Pinterest board - before it was deleted - you'd see countless images of (Lady?) Thor, the Valkyries, Sailor Moon, and even the coffin that Maeve locked Aelin in... (that can't be a coincidence, right..?!) Some examples below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Twilight' is also another word for 'Dusk'; considering the lost Dusk Court, and 'Dusk's Truth' (both of which are the centre of the upcoming crossover and broader multiversal narrative...) it matches up perfectly.
Tumblr media
Thus, I believe that the remaining ACOTAR and CC books will continue to add to the multiverse, bit by bit. And whilst they can still be read in a standalone fashion, my guess is that they will build up to a grand finale (perhaps the very last ACOTAR book will end with Aelin walking through a portal...?) and then Twilight of the Gods will begin.
If you thought Kingdom of Ash was epic... then Twilight of the Gods -- if correct -- is bound to blow us away (and, it might even put SJM's name in the history books).

Hello everyone! Do you like giant robots? Norse mythology? What about broken lesbians helping each other heal (and ones making each other worse)? Have you wished that the Witch From Mercury was a little more Armored Core? Well, I have the book for you!
My wife has finished her first novel, Season of Fools! A scifi mecha lesbian retelling of Ragnarok. I had the pleasure of editing for it and helping to brainstorm, but the writing is Morrigan's through and through. It's moving, with touching romance, brutal mecha action, manipulative villains, and an interesting and unique hard scifi world set in the far off-world future featuring space travel, giant robots, AI becoming sentient and finding their humanity (and humans losing their own). It's one of my favorite books this year so far, and I couldn't recommend it more!

Hi Puff! Idk if anyone has asked you this yet but what are your thoughts on the god of war game series? Are they actually more "accurate" about the greek mythology then LO? xD
oh lord, I'm def not a good person to ask about this question because I haven't played through all the original God of War games (though it makes me laugh to think about them because watching my oldest brother play the first game when I was like 7 years old was the first time I'd ever seen video game boobies LOL) but considering it's just a hack and slash game in which you brutally murder the gods... ima give it a big noooo on that one LOL it's about as accurate as LO in that it's more about spectacle and drama than it is about actually being accurate to the myths they're based on lmaoo
As for the Norse series of games, I actually HAVE played both God of War 2018 and Ragnarok and loved them both, though I'm not as well versed in Norse mythology so I also can't say if what they take from Norse myth is accurate. Obviously I know that Atreus/Loki has zero relation to fictional character Kratos from Greece and I have basic understanding of general concepts like Yggdrasil and the nine realms among other things like that, but the finer details regarding the stories of the characters themselves I'm not as brushed up on. Hella great storytelling though and I appreciate the lengths they went to to make it feel like a Norse-myth-inspired environment, even down to the vocabulary and terms used.
Just like with LO, you shouldn't be taking any of what God of War does or says at face value. If you like the games (or LO), use it as an opening hook to get more into the actual myths if they interest you. But definitely don't use them as any sort of credible source LOL
Now that I'm typing out my thoughts on this though, I think the biggest difference between GoW and LO (one that makes GoW far superior to it) is that the creators of GoW never once led their audience to believe that they were more than what they were, a hack and slash video game inspired by specific myths. What you see is what you get with GoW, but LO - and Rachel - constantly feel like they're actually trying to be taken seriously and that's what makes it all the worse when their storytelling is godawful and the amount of actual "myth" they have in the comic amounts to as much as a Family Guy cutaway gag. Just completely directionless and uninspired to the point you wonder why it's even an Greek myth retelling to begin with. At least GoW fully immerses itself in the myths their games are based on and has a shitload of fun with it, with LO it'll just source some copy pasted Princeton document or lazily tell some mythological metaphor that has nothing to do with the overarching plot so that it can remind you "hey this is a Greek myth retelling!" before getting back to its bland Keeping Up with the Kardashians romance. The mythological "inspiration" in LO feels more like tired lip service at this point rather than actual inspiration, which is really bitterly ironic considering Rachel used to tote around calling herself a "folklorist" and claiming that everyone else's knowledge of Greek myth compared to hers was "basic af".
TL ; DR: The biggest difference between GoW and LO in their retellings is humility IMO.

Meep! Thank you @nikethestatue for this!
Fave ships:
Of all time: Kanej
Acotar: Elriel 🌸🦇 with FERVOR
ToG: Manorian
CC: Night and Day
Secondary fave ship: Ahhhh this is tough. I love Feysand and Nessian for different reasons. I think both of their relationships have bright spots and flaws, but I feel Feysand edges out just because we have so much more perspective of their relationship and they are the OG's! I wish I could read their story again for the first time probably more than any other couple in the SJMverse.
What ship would you want to live in real life?: Genuinely, Elriel. The peace and quiet girlies get it. The house husband girlies get it. I am truly a person who requires a great deal of alone time and quiet time to recharge. I, much like Elain, enjoy a great deal of solitary activities. Writing, baking and gardening. I like filling my free time making something. It gives me a sense of peace and purpose outside of the capitalist hellscape we live in. I have yet to experience a romantic partnership where my "me" time or quiet time was treated as valuable or important. Nothing will ever be more romantic to me than Elain and Azriel simply wanting to be around each other, even if in silence. Sitting together quietly in the sun. Or Azriel listening to Elain talk about her gardening plans, because he is interested in the things she thinks about creating.
It's a special type of connection, to not constantly need high energy conversation to feel close to someone or learn about them. Being at peace with one another, being interested in each other's minds, and understanding what someone else needs to feel calm and grounded, that is really beautiful to me.
Crackship: Ansel and Rolffe, but also Gwyn and Fenrys!! I am a Twilight of the Gods theorist and genuinely believe the Valkyrie will play a huge role in the Ragnarok retelling. Fenrys is one of my fave SJM men, but he and Gwyn have a lot in common. Both were twins who got horrifically SA'd after witnessing their twins murder. Both have a sassy sense of humor, and a long complicated history being loyal to and in service of powerful and short tempered leaders (Maeve and Merril.) I personally see a lot of connections there, and see Gwyn and Fenrys both as side characters in their respective series that may likely become key characters in the multiverse!
A toxic shop you love: Klaroline 🙈 still not over it.
Best fanfic for ship of your choice?: Okay, despite the nearly 100k multi chapter fanfic I wrote in April, I am still brand new to the fic world and haven't read a lot of fics yet! So I'm still gathering recommendations and figuring out where to start! But I did read Pretty Little Angel by DottieLovegood after a friend sent it to me over a year ago, and it essentially became my religion. I can't wait to keep diving into all the talented writers in the Elriel community! I've read some great one shots by @tswaney17 and @bloomingdarkgarden (ehoney on AO3) and have years worth of fics to catch up on!! I'm sorry I'm such a newb 😭 and taking recommendations!
Tagging @faeprincesswarrior @enigmaticexplorer @nikachansstuff @gracie-rosee to see your answers!

*inhales, holds it, then exhales* Okay, so.
Yesterday, I realized that hey, I could ~stream~ Loki Season 2, and boy did I gorge myself on that while working on art for an event. Now, I will be among the first to say that Marvel's Loki is not The Loki, but man. That climax. You should have seen my face as Loki brought all the threads of time together and sculpted them into a tree.
Tumblr media
Yggdrasil
*inhales again* God, that is some good shit.
I'm not gonna lie, that entire final episode just. For the first time, it felt like someone at Disney/Marvel read the myths and understood them. Marvel's Loki may not be The Loki, but as a variant, as a representation of that myth, he finally hits home.
Loki is known as the god of mischief, chaos, and trickery, but he is so, so much more than that. He's the god of Consequences, of Fuck Around and Find Out. He is the god who knows his own fate. If Victor Timely is He Who Remains, then Loki is He Who Endures. He who endures loss, grief, anger, pain and agony.
Loki is He Who Endures the destruction of self, again and again and again. First when he is bound in the roots of Yggdrasil, poison dripping into his face for countless years, then again at Ragnarok, when he sails with the giants, knowing he will meet his death at Heimdall's hands.
Unlike the Aesir, Loki never runs from his fate. He never tries to avert Ragnarok. He knows that it must come, and that he must be the sacrificial lamb to slaughter. In the hope of building something new, something better than before. In the hope that this time, they'll get it right.
There are a lot of different interpretations of Ragnarok out there. Some say it's a singular event that has already happened, others say it is yet to come. Personally speaking, I like the idea of Ragnarok being cyclical, of being a metaphor for failure and self-improvement.
Loki Season 2 Episode 6: Glorious Purpose is a time loop. One where Loki goes through numerous centuries worth of repetitions trying to find a way to prevent the Temporal Loom's destruction - in other words, Ragnarok. Yes, in this retelling of the Ragnarok myth, Loki does try to evade his fate, but the important factor is that he doesn't give up. He never declares it hopeless, and he watches his friends, his sister-self, everyone in the world not just die, but cease to exist, over and over and over again.
Until finally he realizes that he cannot avert Ragnarok. That the Temporal Loom must be destroyed. There is no way around it.
But that destruction doesn't have to mean the end of everything.
"I know what kind of god I want to be."
And in that moment, he becomes the sacrificial lamb, willingly walking into his own imprisonment because this is the way it must be. Because he must give everything, he must destroy himself, and he must endure the pain of loss, of grief, of isolation.
For love. For hope. For a chance to build something better.
For all time.
Always.

Hello friend I would kindly like to request one Max Phillips / Loki please and thank you 🙏🏻 ♥️
oh, my darling tings, i couldn't think of a better person to work on this match up!
i will say, upfront, loki is a not a bad guy. he gets painted that way a LOT, marvel didn't help, and a lot of what we know about the myths were either written by the christians or lost to time. we sort of have to take everything with a grain of salt, just like, in general with this belief system. but you can do a LOT with him, so i'm excited to see what you do!
-
Blood-brother to Odin. Has several children with (at least) two women: Sigyn and Angrboda. With Angrboda, he sired Jormundgandr, Fenrir, and Hel. Loki himself gave birth to Sleipnir, Odin’s 8-legged horse, as a female horse. A shape-shifter that can turn into many creatures such as a horse, a bird, a fly, a flea, and a salmon, as well as other men and women.
God of mischief, chaos, and a trickster.
Loki’s gender is a bit ambiguous because he shifts into being a woman so much. Often seen as one of the main sources of transness, genderfluidity, or nonbinary people within the Norse Myths. Thus, this makes people use ‘they/them’ pronouns for Loki sometimes.
Often had interesting ways to fix problems, usually by starting off causing mischief, a lot of chaos would ensue, but ultimately the end result would bring a lot of good. A bit like an anti-hero.
However, he was the cause of Baldr, Frigg’s son’s death. She loved her son so much that she made it so nothing could hurt him, except for the mistletoe plant, which she failed to ask. Loki found this out and convinced Baldr’s brother, who was blind, to throw the mistletoe plant at Baldr, causing his death. Odin and Frigg asked Hel, goddess of the underworld, if she could bring him back to life, and she said she would if every creature wept for Baldr. Loki shape-shifted into a giantess and refused to weep, thus keeping Baldr dead.
There are various sources with different retellings of stories/sagas so it’s hard to pinpoint any one way to see Loki. In one version, Baldr’s death does happen, but Loki isn’t even mentioned or present, so it’s hard to villainize Loki.
A very polarizing and misunderstood figure. Often seen as the “villain” or the “bad guy” of Norse Mythology, but there’s a lot of nuance to who Loki is. Associated for why Ragnarok even happens since Loki’s children are at fault, but a lot of Ragnarok is heavily Christianized, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
A good way to see, or sum him up is thus: “many of his acts are the doings of a naughty boy, rather than crimes against the righteous gods”. In most stories, he’s playing tricks on the gods because he finds it funny more than anything. Later stories are where he’s seen as more “evil”, but most of those stories are very Christian-influenced.
Like a fun older brother. Very playful and mischievous. Very straight-forward. Protector of outcasts; lgbtq+ folks, disabled people, neurodivergent people, etc.
Associations/Offerings: Horses, birds, red jasper, carnelian, cloves, cinnamon, coffee, sweets
and your moodboard:

Season of Fools is now complete A lesbian science fiction retelling of Ragnarok and the events leading to it.
It has been a millennium since mankind abandoned its home. Corporations have carved up the heavens, and brought humanity to the stars with them to finalize those borders in blood. Their weapon of choice: Einherjar, ten meter tall humanoid mechs, powered by an exotic energy source as-of-yet barely understood.
Just under the illusion of peace sold to the public, mercenary pilots fulfill the wills of those who hold the reins of power. Pilots like Aria, a conscript turned freelance mercenary aided by her illegal and fully sentient AI companion, Nimue. After taking what seemed to be a routine job for a routine client, Aria and an erstwhile rival, Maks, find themselves facing down something older, more territorial, and far more deadly than any corporate force. And what’s more, their encounter has drawn the baleful eye of the deranged leader of the Penrose Foundation upon themselves.
