The new outfit switch is going to be really weird in Volume 10
Cuz like, in universe, the characters had their V7-9 outfits for the least amount of time
Out of the Solitas arc, V7 is the longest in universe, taking place of the course of several weeks to a few months (there's enough time for a video game and crossover adventure in there)
And V8/9 all occur within a few days to a little over a week at best (except for Jaune, for him it was decades)
Compare this to the V1-3 and V4-6, each of those arcs happened over the course of months
And it's even weirder because out of universe, the characters have worn their V7-9 outfits for longer than anything else
The Solitas Arc began in early November of 2019 and concluded in late April of 2023
Almost 4 years
V4-6 was a little over 2 years (early Oct 2016-late Jan 2019) and V1-3 was 2 and a half years (mid July 2013-mid Feb 2016, though you can nudge it up to over 3 years if you count the trailers)
My commissions are open! $5 per 1k words! I mostly do NSFW. Some chapters are available on my profile, but most of my stuff is on AO3!
I’ll write for fandoms like JJBA, CSM, JJK, Demon Slayer, Dark Souls, What We Do in the Shadows, Elden Ring, Ancient Magus’ Bride, RWBY, Transformers, Attack on Titan, Fire Punch, Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil 4, Mortal Kombat, Goodnight Punpun, Tokyo Revengers, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Soul Eater, Junji Ito, and non-fandom stuff, just no real people!
I’m open to write lots of things, but naturally, there are things I won’t write. I’ll listt those here!
I won’t write minors or animals in sexual situations. I also won’t write ageplay, bodily gas, or weight gain/feederism.
my own likes are pretty strange, don’t be afraid if you think your idea is too weird! I’ll never be mean, I’ll likely write it, but if not, I’ll politely tell you it’s not for me :3
Here’s my AO3 link where you can view nearly everything I’ve written!
RWBY: Neo’s Allusion (and how it fits into the RWBY Story)
Ice cream girl has been sort of an odd ball of the RWBY world. I’m gonna dive into her allusion to see how exactly she fits into the narrative.
The Roman Holiday book reveals that Neo’s real name is Trivia. This is very likely a reference to the goddess of the three way crossroads, Trivia (sometimes known as Hecate or Diana). Trivia’s name is derived from Tri, which in many languages means three. Being the goddess of the triple crossroads this makes sense. It also makes sense how it ties into Neo herself, who is known for having the aesthetic of Neapolitan ice cream, famous for its three flavors.
Trivia is a famous figure of the religious diversity movements known as Modern Paganism, or Neopaganism. The movement, as well as Trivia herself, heavily influenced ancient Roman history. From this, we can see where Neo’s nickname comes from (as well as the Neapolitan connection), as well as an explanation for her relationship with Roman Torchwick. Hecate is also often depicted with carrying a torch, which could symbolize Neo’s closeness with Torchwick.
Her connection to Yang is kinda tied to their allusions. Yang is based on Goldilocks, who goes up against the three bears. Neo’s triple theme is fitting, which is why she was the one to fight her in Volume 2.
Her connection to Cinder could be a nod to Neo imitating Torchwick to honor him. She has the white cloak, his hat, all that’s missing was his cigar flame, her own torch. That flame was Cinder. Neo’s in a way “picking up the torch” from her former partner, and that might ACTUALLY tie into Neo’s allusion, Trivia, who, as said before, is most often depicted carrying a torch.
Thinking about how Ruby and co. haven’t had a break for like 2 whole volumes now. The second they stole the airship they were in for weeks of nonstop chaos
I’m getting the feeling that hiding secrets, not trusting people and avoiding cooperation, might be a big part of this show. Like, a life lesson to be more open and accepting of help or something.
