I'm still in season 6A of Teen Wolf but man I HATE that this show made me ship Parrish x Lydia to then DROP the entire arc all of a sudden?! WHY?!! He's barely formed part of this season and he's currently my favorite character right next to Stiles. They spent all that time on Parrish in season 5B and all of a sudden is like he's not even a meaningful part of the show anymore? That's something I absolutely HATE about this show, how they just drop character arcs when a season ends, like it's last season's plot so now it doesn't matter in the new season... They totally did that with Void Stiles as well. He was totally fine next season, in season 4. Like he didn't just get through a possibly life-altering, dramatic, traumatizing experience... Wtf.

And all that lovely build-up between Jordan Parrish and Lydia, like even if it remained a friendship hard-sell tbh because their interactions were HOT ok and there's just a small age gap there like it's not even weird tbh that there's an age gap why do they suddenly have no scenes together?? What happened??! Did people bitch back then because they preferred Stydia or something? Or because of the insignificant age gap?? LOL. Listen, I like both ships, but this show REALLY made me ship Lydia with Jordan Parrish WAY MORE than Stydia and now I'm heartbroken because they have barely interacted and Lydia randomly now loves Stiles outta nowhere (no, him saving her that time doesn't count when you have 5 seasons of pretty much zero build-up to get to that point... Plus I'm pretty sure it was Parrish who carried her in his arms. That was romantic, ok? 😭).

I just don't understand why they had to put so much effort into making things so intense and romantic and even sexual between Lydia and Parrish if they were going to literally pretend like it didn't happen in the next season and do nothing with it. I'm salty af.

They have just made a poor effort to make Stiles x Lydia believable. I've always known they're endgame because Idk they were the season 1 ship, like, if Alison was still alive by the end of the series, she'd totally end up with Scott as well, is what I mean. Because those are the main relationships the show wanted to sell from the start regardless of whether they ended up having chemistry or not by the end. I get that. BUT!! By this season, when nothing that romantically powerful has happened between Stiles and Lydia, while you've SHOWN me something more meaningful and powerful and hot between her and another character, it's just not believable anymore for her to just suddenly be into Stiles romantically just because of one scene! I mean, from Stiles's side it's well-done, I'd say, since he had loved her since season 1 (and I never liked him with Malia, tbh, that came out of complete nowhere), but I've just never felt Lydia to be into him. She's felt like a friend all along... And then they spend ALL that time in season 5 building up Lydia and Jordan Parrish's relationship like that, and they have all that hot af chemistry, and for WHAT??! 🙃💔

My heart is broken and I haven't even finished watching the show. lol

Oh well.

I guess I'll follow blogs who prefer this ship because let me tell you, this is my favorite ship from this entire show, hands down. The chemistry is off the freaking charts. And the story between them? How they compliment each other? Both of them are harbingers of death. Hello?! Like I said: the chemistry is off the charts.

I'm going to restrict myself to female characters who either (A) never had a good love interest throughout the whole work and/or (B) ended the work in a relationship with a bad love interest. Because otherwise this list would be impossible to limit to just 5 characters.

Lydia Martin from Teen Wolf cuz they really made this poor girl date Jackson (asshole + Colton Haynes), Aiden (murderer), Parrish (GROWN MAN), and Stiles (had a creepy crush on her the whole show). Even if they couldn't make her a lesbian could they at least have let her date Scott or something 😭

Valencia Perez from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend...look I'm sorry Beth is funny but she doesn't have an actual personality and Valencia's lesbian awakening should've been caused by an Actual Character.

Remember when they made Joan Watson from Elementary have a thing with Mycroft? 🫠

I don't even LIKE Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time and I think she was actually a pretty terrible girlfriend herself (anyone else remember when she uhhh violated her boyfriend's soul while he begged her not to and then wiped his memory of this event and kept carrying on with their relationship as if nothing had happened?) but also all 4 of her canon love interests were terrible too. And not in an interesting way either. Just in a 'misogynist scruffy white man' way.

I maintain that Athena from Battlestar Galactica's arc was ruined by the writers' insistence on shackling her to Helo Agathon, the literal most boring fictional man ever invented.

I know you kinda forgot him even when you were dying but if you remember everything then Isaac is supposed to be in that everything too). They didn't even call Stiles!

35) Why does it seem that when the Sheriff was talking about the jeep he was actually talking about Stiles and Derek (or sterek as a ship/concept). No matter what, we sterek shipper will stand. Always and forever.

Final thoughts

I thought worse but at the same time it felt rush. I wanted to see more Eli and Malia bonding. Also the way the Sheriff cares about Eli it seems more like a grandfather to a grandson (if you know what I mean) but we couldn't really see that. And can we talk about Derek and Noah (John for the friends)'s partnership? Or how Derek speaks about Stiles with Noah as he's still in touch with him??

And where is Eli come from anyway?! Are we finally normalize mpreg?

Final final thoughts

I didn't like this movie. It was like a big bad Scallison fanfiction found on wattpad (ao3 is better). A lot of things were forgotten and other changed.

BUT

There's always a but (as in the Derek's "death" *wink wink*).

This movie gave us a lot of sterek material.

I'm afraid of what Jeff Davis' mind could possibly come with for another movie, probably more about Eli's past which means a mother for sure (unfortunately the world isn't ready for mpreg yet I'm afraid) and less sterek material. But at the same time I want to see Derek alive again, I want to see how they would manage with two true alpha and how Derek and Eli's relationship would evolve.

I want a lot of things to see but I'm afraid they won't give me any of them, so I can't decide either I want another movie or not.

i know this is a really well known fic i just can’t filter the right tags to find it😭. technically a two part series, sterek. first part is shorter than the second. the remains of the mccall pack (scott, melissa, parrish, lydia, maybe more) are traveling cross country during a war between hunters and wolves/supernaturals. they’re under attack and a hooded figure w another pack saves them. surprise it’s stiles. he does magic has purple eyes is derek’s mate. they take the mccall pack back to their base and they see the older hale pack (isaac, jackson, cora, peter, chris, maybe more) are there. derek is in a war room w other pack member. second fic of the series is nonlinear, going back and forth between the two times. stiles and the sheriff leave bh, end up with a new pack. stiles trains w magic. the new pack is huuuge. derek co-alphas w new packs alpha. at one point stiles and his fellow spark bestie (her name might be erin?) take out a whole coven of vampires and they take a pit stop at an abandoned victoria’s secret to surprise their mates. sheriff is an eventual werewolf. new pack can all full shift and the mccall pack is like “woaHh” and it’s because of the spark emissaries that they can do that. there’s a scene where scott upsets stiles while stiles is refreshing the wards and derek, full shifted and on patrol, feels it and goes to stiles and scott’s like wtf. lydia is catatonic for a majority of the fic, the scenes in the medical area are with parrish at her bedside waiting. hopefully that’s enough info to build off of, sorry it’s kinda everywhere!!

I love scallison but at the same time I love scalia too because Shelley and Posey chemistry is so good in the last season, and PARRISH? HOW IS HE STILL THERE? I always find him kinda creepy. Liam and Mason being estranged is annoyed me and Scott didn’t at least mentioned Stiles annoyed me. AND WHY LYDIA ALWAYS WITH JACKSON?!?! Ahem okay so I finished it and I'm gonna do a little messy overview of my thoughts so just WARNING FOR TEEN WOLF THE MOVIE SPOILERS

Okay but like WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT MASTERPIECE????? It was SO GOOD???? I loved seeing all of the original actors again because they wrjahsnahahehwh ugh they were what made the show so special in the first place so to see them all back and together again was so special. Obviously I wish Stiles was there. I already made a post about why it would have been so good for him to have been there because of his background with the nogitsune and the nogitsune playing such a big role in the movie and I still 100% believe it but I'm glad they didn't cast another person to play Stiles just so he could be there.

And like, I know the woman with Liam played a really important role and was ultimately the reason Scott lived but she just felt so out of place there? Like logically I know her main purpose was just to replace Kira because the show needed a kitsune to fight the nogitsune, and that's fine or whatever and tbh I never liked Kira so I'm not mad about her absence. But at the same time like... I don't even remember this new girl's name? And why was Liam in Japan anyway? That whole thing was confusing to me so if you understand just like comment or something.

Eli was fine... Very young, maturity wise, but that's sorta to be expected? Although I think the whole thing would have gone the exact same way without him, I did like seeing dad!Derek, so that's something I suppose.

As far as the other characters (besides Derek and Allison because lordie do I have things to say) I feel like Scott slipped back into his role really well. Tyler Posey does a wonderful job with that character and he really shined throughout the movie which I really loved. Lydia was quite a let down to me at first because she was my favorite character in the show so I had really high Expectations but I mean by the end she was back to her badass self and I really adored her. The reason why she broke things off with Stiles took a piece of my heart and crumpled it to the ground shshahwhsdhdt I loved those two together. I never really had opinions about Parrish, Malia, and Liam so I don't really have anything to say about them.

I feel like Jackson was only really there for comic relief? Like he had that moment with Lydia encouraging her to wail but that was his only moment lmao. I keep bringing things back to Stiles but Jackson totally slipped into Stiles' comedic relief role and I can't decide if I like it yet or not.

As far as Allison goes, I loved seeing our badass back! She's such a fighter and she's so wonderful and even though she was playing the "villain" for half the time I still really felt bad for her because I mean... She didn't ask to be brought back to life? She was trying to pass on, not come back, and yet here she was, painfully confused and trying not to lose her shit on everyone. I really felt bad for her.

And okay, Derek. I never LOVED Derek but like WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HIM?????? don't get me wrong it was poetic or whatever but like WAS THERE NOT A BETTER WAY? and like did it occur to him that his SON WAS RIGHT THERE LIKE HE DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS HIM??? he told Scott he was part of his pack and then he didn't even say goodbye 😭 idk maybe it was too painful for him or something? Either way it hurt so bad 😭

The last thing I wanna say is about the music score of the movie because tbh that shit makes or breaks a movie and this score was SO GOOD. it made me cry at the end (genuinely don't think I would have cried if the music wasn't so on point) and dhshshhe whoever scored the movie did a really great job.

Anyway, my heart is successfully in pieces on the floor. I really enjoyed that and now I'll probably rewatch the series because I really miss Stiles and like... Season 3 Lydia.

(Side tangent: does anyone else skip the first season on the rewatch? I love the character plots in the first season but idk I just like season two better because everything is established and Lydia is less awful? Idk lemme know)

i will add to this thou, I've seen a few people say that Derek is too much like Clarke Kent and that he would have a completely different parenting style and while I do somewhat agree we have to remember that people tend to act different around their family and especially with their kids than they are with other people. It's also been a lot of years where he has changed alot to fit having to raise a child by himself (who tf is Eli's mom and where is she?; Jeff said he wanted to explore that in another movie) plus he had to change, S2 Derek would be a terrible father and Eli would've been so fucked up
