Do you think the kibbe system is rigid towards women's heights (especially women who aren't short)? I get that a tall woman won't be a petite type and a petite woman won't be one of the big 3, but I feel like people are quick to even rule out AVERAGE-height women (who should have the widest types to be under?). Amber Liu, at an average 5'6 looks like a FG and doesn't appear that vertical, but she automatically gets categorized as D just because she is not short. There are also some average height women who look round and curvy, who don't look elongated. I also don't get why these same people can allow short women to be part of the big 3 despite lacking in the height department, like how is the 5'0 Mae West a verified SD? I'm surprised the 5'7 Audrey Hepburn is a verified FG and that the 5'7 Beyonce is a verified R, despite not being short. On the other hand, there's no way Gregory Peck should be a SC at a towering 6'3! If he was a woman, there's no way they would let that happen...

i think it is not rigid enough! hence the many mistypings of david listed above — but he himself says he is better at typing in person rather than looking at pictures (i'm the opposite: i want to do my little line drawings 😂 thus the image must be 100% static, while typing in person is crazy hard to me). that explains his new york personal consultations. he has to see the person talk and move.

david determines ID by presence first and geometry second. i insist on the other way around like you do, which is why i agree with your points. body geometry is more measurable, how one comes across is not! but in his mind, "presence" can overpower the actual height of a person. a couple inches outside the usual height range of a type cannot stop david's vision lmao!

mae west for instance has to be some romantic or SN type in reality, but her larger than life public image and wardrobe were SD-ish, she wanted to be that type. mae was often photographed in huge hats and on pedestals: kibbe typecasts that way, he uses the celeb's curated screen impression. he doesn't care about mae inventing giant double decker heels that obviously gave her more vertical.

in regular heels, we see how everyone towers over her, and there is no vertical impression. mae is tiny and looks her height.

a true SD in huge heels like sofia loren dwarves almost any man except other big 3s. they stand out everywhere.

since he bases his typology on those old hollywood legends who have long passed and many people hurriedly ask him about typings via smartphone pictures, i see his struggle/inaccuracy. i would try to look at candids instead, street fashion of a person with less filters etc, but that's not how david rolls. he likes and types the illusion. no pragmatism or base in reality, he is a poet.

plus celebs have always had surgery to look like other types, wore makeup to become someone else, and also made themselves taller/smaller on paper, another barrier to good typing (say, what if audrey was actually 5'4 and mae 5'8?). and good point, classics are undertyped: let's not try to cram moderate heights into other subtypes of more extreme yin and yang categories. e.g. a very moderately tall person with a sharper face and frame is not a tall dramatic but rather a DC! (if they're symmetrical ofc)

also, some typings are based on the wardrobe of a celeb that might not even be adhering to their type. and one typing sticks and that gets defended. e.g. gregory peck, of course he has to be big three, not a moderate size + small yin soft classic! peck was dressed as a classic, but those suits clearly show his true FN width underneath. soft subtype waist emphasis looked terrible on him. he was massive, broad first + vertical second are his characteristics!

TLDR: we need even stricter height requirements with less nonsensical exceptions (!) and kibbe has to see more celebs in person. roll him out to the met gala!

Kibbe Observations

Theatrical Romantics often have distinct husky voices. Morgan Fairchild, Jane Seymour, Salma Hayek, Mila Kunis (if you watch Black Swan you can listen to her speak at a lower pitch, people who have husky voices sound shrill when they speak at a higher pitch which is how Mila usually speaks)

I feel like every Kibbe type has a few celebs who intuitively always dress for their type and a bunch of others who absolutely never do lol.

Sofia Vergara, Kelly Brook, Ava Gardner, Christina Hendricks etc are Soft Dramatics who almost always wear their lines.

Salma Hayek, Joan Collins are TRs who pretty much embody TR glam most of the time.

3. Kibbe is based on vibes someone gives off, more than you would think. There are certain criteria that has to be met for each type but there are exceptions, always!!

Audrey Hepburn was 5'7 but she's a true Gamine. It's rare to see a tall Gamine but it's not impossible

Beyonce is also 5'7 but she's a Romantic even though most Romantics are short.

4. Kibbe is about image identity. That means the image you project. You can analyse the length & breadth of someone's shoulders & calves all you like but your image identity is MORE than that. I'll use an example. Mila Kunis & Sarah Hyland, pretty much look like sisters yet the vibes they give off are different.

Mila Kunis has a very sultry, sensuous "femme fatale" essence (she's verified TR) but Sarah Hyland has a more innocent but kind of mischievous, more youthful vibe. You can easily see that Mila has a more "dark feminine" energy whereas although Sarah has similar coloring and features, she still feels more light feminine.

Here she is in a very TR-esque outfit but something feels off

This outfit would look really weird on a lot of people (a tutu skirt for God's sake 😭) but she looks good in it

in this dress however, she looks like a kid who wore a grown up dress. her youthful vibe contrasts the heavy romantic vibes of this dress

However, here she looks like a complete doll. again, this look seems to suit her in a way it wouldn't suit most people.

This dress is a little too intense for her.

She has Gamine essence and it's the kind of styling that looks best on her

Mila, kinda looks like she's wearing a costume here. It looks very off.

Here she's in a very Romantic outfit with a dash of glamour and she looks greattt

Tea length dresses only look good on Gamines imo and here Mila looks very out of place

despite being very short, tea length dresses, even in a more Dramatic style, does not seem to suit Mila

this dress would be more flattering on a Natural type but Mila does not look like herself here

aside from the fact that this dress needed some ironing, this is probably the most TR look Mila has ever worn and it really makes her shine

5. In order to be SD, you need to have a T shaped silhouette. Broad shoulders, small waist and proportionately small hips. SDs are not "tall TRs".

6. Sofia Vergara & Joe Manganiello are my SD power couple

its sooo easy to tell that they both have similar essences and project a similar image

however, here she is with her former fiancee Nick Loeb. Sofia's overpowering Dramatic essence makes her stand out and she almost looks out of place next to Nick, who is FN. Their essences clash with each other and make them kind of awkward looking together.

There is a meme about how Brad Pitt imitates the women he's with. Let's see how he channels his different essences with different women.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt are both Naturals (FN & SN) with Dramatic/Romantic essence

Together they project a very larger than life, powerful, strong and intense vibe

Here he is, with Jennifer Aniston. as a couple, they project a more grounded, couple-next door, warm vibe. they're like the cool couple on a college campus, two hot people who look good together but in a very earthy, grounded way. Jennifer Aniston is also a Natural (SN)

Brad has Dramatic essence however Jen is pure Natural. so while Brad can pull off a more intense styling, Jen would look kinda out of place in it.

The dress and leather in general is too overpowering on her

However, she really shines in outfits like these that let her true essence be reflected. everybody, especially in the last couple of years, has been imitating Rachel Green (and 90s style in general) but imo, its most flattering on Naturals because of the way clothes were designed in that decade.

Here he is with Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth is yet another Natural (FN) but she has Classic essence. The thing about possessing Classic essence is that you have a perfect yin-yang balance, so nothing stands out individually since everything blends together perfectly. Brad & Gwyneth together sort of bleed into each other, their essences don't contrast each other in anyway, they almost look like siblings😭😭😭 , there is no visible polarity at play.

Brad was with 3 different Natural women yet they all projected a very distinct vibe because of their very different essences.

7. kibbe is about image and how other perceive you. its futile to obsess over width and breadth and circumference and what not. dont miss the forest for the trees. also, there is a lot of variety within each type, not all Soft Classics look the same and not every Gamine is going to look great in tea length dresses. every individual is unique.

Amy Adams is FN but she's only 5'2. imo, she has a blend of Natural+Classic essence.

IMO, she was horribly miscast in Enchantment. She does not possess the wide-eyed, gullible "ingenue" essence necessary to play a lost princess. i just wasn't convinced that she's this naive, innocent princess because Amy exhibits a more world-wise, mature and "no-nonsense" vibe.

be it in American Hustle, Arrival or Sharp Objects, she plays characters that seem to fit her like a glove. She's just very convincing in these type of roles because she seems like a grown up who knows what to do and how to get things done. She does not have the air of a ditzy, confused damsel in distress

here's Isla Fisher. i specifically chose Isla because her & Amy kind of look alike but their essences are vastly different from each other.

Isla is a verified Romantic and has Romantic + Ingenue essence and she's perfect in films like Confessions of a Shopaholic because she's convincing as a ditzy airhead who is slightly naive and very confused. (this being one manifestation of the ingenue essence) if you look at her career, she's by and large done a lot of romcoms. It's hard to imagine her in a show like Sharp Objects or a movie like Arrival because the image she projects is far more youthful and sweet.

8. there is a reason why kibbe has its roots in old hollywood. old hollywood studio system manufactured stars the way kpop companies manufacture idols today. the were assigned an image to project and each star managed by the company had their own unique appeal that set them apart from the rest. lauren bacall projects an aura thats entirely different from audrey hepburn or marilyn monroe. liz taylor is completely different from gene tierney. most big stars in those days possessed Dramatic essence, simply because Dramatic essence makes people stand out easily. its a very large, strong, intense essence and gives the individual an edge. but the market created space for all kind of stars, there were actors who had a more boy/girl next door aura, femme/homme fatale aura, a quirky,funny aura and more. these days, cinema in general lacks big stars. imo there hasn't been a truly big star in maybe the last 20 years or so of cinema because no one's projecting an image that appropriately fits them.

however, pop music has had many icons and a huge part of their success is their image. be it taylor swift or nicki minaj or even BTS. people connect to them because they have a stable image identity for others to connect to. they have lore, they switch things up and keep things interesting but there's a bedrock that is unchanging and thats what makes them "stars".

I was in charge of the sub-visual (SD illustration) for SNOW MIKU 2024. Under the theme of “feast,” I designed a group of people dressed as waiters with Hokkaido’s famous gourmet foods in their hands. *Miku and Rabbit Yukine were designed by shiro. *The other five designers are based on Miku’s costume, and were designed to fit their respective characters.

SCHEDULE TYPE: TRIMESTER ( PART 1 OUT OF 1 ) SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS: Cannot be paired with another trimester schedule, unless stated otherwise. for reference as to whether your muse is eligible for this event, please click over HERE.

all of the actors are called to a meeting with their managers, BYUN MIDO, HAN YOOHWA, KIM DONGSUN, SEO HEEJUNG, and YOO HYUNKI, who is the newest manager added to the team. not wanting to waste any time, the managers begin going through everything that will be happening in the new term.

DORMS

HEEJUNG begins to tells them the rules and information regarding housing, “in the past terms, we’ve allowed everyone who has joined legacy agency the option to stay in dorms or find their own place. however, due to the incident that happened a few months ago and how our bosses have been telling us to be ever so more watchful towards all of you, we’ve changed our rules. similar to last term, every person who joins the subsidiary will stay in the dorms for one term. if you have been under probation before, then that will last two terms — one for the term where you were under probation and another to follow every new person that joins us.”

“for the ones that have gone through one term in this path without any warnings, punishments, or scandals during that time, they will be given the option to live offsite. those of you confirmed to stay will be able to move into your new dorms starting from today. otherwise, for those of you who have chosen to stay in your own place, you will need to pack up and leave your current dorms starting from today as well. and just like AECHA has said in the past, just because you aren’t under our watch 24/7 anymore does not mean that you can go crazy. if we hear of any inappropriate behavior, you will be immediately brought back to the dorms.” DONGSUN looks at each one of the actors, making sure that they know and are aware of the new dorm changes.

HEEJUNG stated, “sns is important for exposure for our actors. however, it’s not absolutely imperative, so the rules haven’t changed. you’ll be permitted a PUBLIC INDIVIDUAL INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT��after meeting certain conditions. first, you must have completed a full trimester in this path and second, you must have at least 6 posts on the legacy entertainment account already. this just gives us comfort that you know what is or isn’t appropriate. for those of you who are eligible for an account, the information will be provided to you shortly. again, as with the dorms, this privilege can be taken away if you decide to do some funny business.”

DEBUT CONTRACT

“now we’re almost done with the basics, but there’s one legal matter that we have to cover right now.” HEEJUNG turns to look at YOOHWA and MIDO, who is giving the contracts to some of the actors. “please read and review through the new terms and conditions. once you are done, sign and return the contract to me or DONGSUN as soon as possible. it doesn’t have to be done right now, but the sooner the better because your modeling career will be starting soon and we want to make sure this is done in a seamless manner.”

THE HIDDEN ENEMY MUSICAL UPDATE

on FEBRUARY 27, MINKYU and AERI will be traveling to japan to do 3 showings of the musical ( 2 showings on saturday, march 1 and 1 showing on sunday, march 2 ). as a reward for diligently working on their japanese in Q1 and the musical’s success, they will be staying one extra day ( monday, march 3 ) after the showings, which means they can spend that day doing whatever they want as long as one of the managers is present with them.

ooc, they will be receiving extra points ( listed in the points form ) that can be redeemed once they have finished the acting mission requirements.

COMMERCIAL TRAINING

“some of the actors will be busy with their projects and schedules, so they will be spending most of their time on that. but for our two new actors who have just joined us, you will be participating in CF TRAINING along with the two new models during that time since there is a contest that i’m about to tell you later that might interest many of you. one may consider it to be boring to be attending the commercial training, but actually this won’t be held in the legacy building. in fact, it’ll be held in DAEJEON and take up three weekends.” DONGSUN explained to them while letting HYUNKI and YOOHWA give SEYEON and SANGWON the files regarding the training.

as mentioned, the training will be held for three weekends ( FEBRUARY 8 & 9, MARCH 8 & 9, and MARCH 29 & 30 ). each of the weekends will revolve around these categories; COMMERCIAL MODELING ( eg., posing techniques, facial expressions and emotion control, branding and marketing yourself, runway and movement training ), COMMERCIAL ACTING ( eg., voice projection & articulation, improvisation, on-camera techniques, storytelling in a short timeframe ), and VLOGGING ( eg., technical setup and self-taping basics, brand and relatability, product demonstration and interaction ).

for each weekend, they will be staying in a rented house nearby with one of the lgc agency managers and head back home by sunday night. while they will have some free time to explore DAEJEON on saturdays, they must be accompanied by either the lgc agency manager OR one of the manager’s assistants. the training itself consists of 15 students maximum ( including SEYEON, SANGWON, KIYONG, and YUTAI ) and there will be three coaches ( each one teaching a category mentioned earlier ).

SAMSUNG CONTEST

HEEJUNG explained to the actors the next opportunity in their schedules, “samsung is interested in offering a yearlong modeling contract for a few LGC AGENCY artists. however, the company felt that since there are so many artists it would be best to hold a cf vlog contest amongst all of you. you have from MARCH 17-APRIL 1 to send in your submissions via e-mail. for our newer actors, you could do it during the last weekend of your training in DAEJEON, if you wish. as for the others, we would like to strongly advise you to not film any vlog content during your time preparing for PROJECTS AKA and SD. we’ll send you all of the important rules and restrictions related to this contest. my advice for all of you is to start brainstorming ideas and to make it as creative as possible.”

around the first week of MARCH, each LGC AGENCY artist will be given the choice of promoting only ONE of the GALAXY products ( galaxy s24, galaxy z fold, galaxy watch ultra, galaxy tab s10 ultra, OR galaxy buds ) and incorporating it in a 5 minute vlog ( the chosen product must be shown in at least 80% of that 5 minute vlog ). the product selected will be a prototype and it’s up to the muse how they would like to film the video, since they will be almost everything by themselves ( filming, conceptualizing, etc. ) they will not be doing the major editing ( because a lgc editor will take care of that ) but they can send in notes as to how they would like the edits to look like. during this time, there will be some staffs recording the behind the scenes content of the process.

kento might be a pure dramatic. i actually share his type! 🎉 a D body shape is like a column. rule: put a man in a pure classic suit and his type's primary characteristic will show. look how loose the pants are bc his legs are so narrow, and how vertical his frame is:

pure D gives a serene, swept up look that comes without the soft lips, doe eyes, and less intensely carved cheeks of the SD, who — unlike pure D — does not have a resting face naturally. compare kento with SD jin:

^ yang shows bone structure, yin conceals it/lays on top. that's how you spot a soft subtype (SD, SC, SN, SG) in the kibbe system.

kento is tall, very narrow + has an angular face contour. geometric jawline, long nose bridge, taut cheeks. sharp yang everywhere. you can almost always spot a pure D by their chiseled, prominent [natural] nose, only followed by TR, FN, and FG.

he is 5'10 — not a D height for a western man, more like DC, pure N or SD. but: we have to account for the national average height in typing. in japan, that is around 5'7. so, he is taller than average, and that's where SD, D, and FN will be.

he is not soft yin enough to be SD, nor broad like FN. actor hiroshi abe at 6'2 would be an example of an FN in japanese film. very broad, muscular, with a D undercurrent. even among sumo wrestlers (SN archetype), he will stand out.

instead of brawn and muscle, the pure D type is all about the haute couture. kento looks great in modelling editorials. compare the difference, though: SD clothes (satin draping) distract from his face and curly hair is too messy, while pure D (harsh angles) with its sleek hair showcases the face.

i also noticed he looks much more mature than his real age. kento must be 42 i thought. turns out he's 30?! next to FN, pure D is the only type that would never look 10 years younger like gamines, who are constantly thought to be teenagers vice versa. i'd be impossible to guess yoongi or baekhyun's age.

observation: babies are R-like (soft, small, round), early teens are G-like (baby face w/ growing limbs, yet still small), C and N are adulthood, but D is the opposite end: with age, cheekbones become stronger, ears & noses elongated, limbs bony, faces more defined.

so: we're all born yin, and many of us increase in yang with time. that's why pure D looks so mature. many D, FN, and DC actors only become well-known when everyone else is past their zenith. think christopher lee! D takes the most time to grow into their type. if you're a late bloomer? you have sharp yang.

magic trick: as soon as you dress D like a mature man (a black kimono is very yang-dominant), they look younger/their age.

talk about black colors: a male D is best suited by long, dark, tamed hair. fashion-wise, black and white contrasts with tailored edges. he does it so well.
