Like genuinely it is scary how jew hate is starting to be seen as like a secondary characteristic of Nazis rather than their primary belief. After that night, bakugo decided he was sick of the two of you, staying out of the common room, studying by himself (which he normally did with Kirishima), and ultimately avoiding interactions.

Obviously, Kirishima noticed. And frankly, he was a little hurt by it. In his mind he didn't do anything, maybe bakugo got grossed out seeing him and you kiss? Or maybe he didn't want to put up with his BS anymore.

Whatever, all that matters to Kirishima is fixing it.

Which brings him in front of his best friend's door, his knuckles hovering over it.

Three light knocks hit the door, loud enough to get Bakugos attention.

There's a long pause before the door opens, revealing the blonde man.

"hey man, what's up?" Kirishimas head tilts with a compassionate look on his face, and Bakugos eyes soften ever so slightly. "Nothing." He replies.

"'so what?!'" Kirishima repeats, "Bakugo, you're my best friend !" He takes a deep breath in an attempt to regulate his temper, "I don't know what I did, but I'm sorry."

Bakugo's heart aches, and he licks his teeth in annoyance. "You didn't do anything shitty hair." That raises Kirishima's confusion through the roof, so, he didn't do anything, but his best friend doesn't want to talk to him???

"then why have you been avoiding me? I don't get it.." his eyes drift down to the ground.

Bakugo's shoulders slump in regret, "I can't tell you." Is the last thing before he shuts the door, not slams like he usually does, shuts quietly like he didn't want to disturb anyone.

"you'll talk to Kirishima." You demand, and he rolls his eyes, "okay, get out" you walk out turning around before he shuts the door.

el caso rubiales: headlines from day 3, in which we heard from misa, jenni's brother, and jenni's friend about rfef pressure and vilda's threats to ruin jenni's career (and the judge continued to call out everyone on their bs!)

today we heard testimony from the following:

rafa del amo, president of the national committee for women's football

rafa hermoso, jenni hermoso's brother

vitoriano martín, jenni hermoso's friendm

also note rubiales' attorney announced that his daughters will NOT testify. they were originally scheduled to speak on 10 february. and this is further proof of my point that just because witnesses are listed in a trial doesn't mean that they will be called and a lot has to do with the discretion of the attorneys!

so back to the trial. timón spoke first and denied being present at the time of the alleged coercions during the return flight of the national team. he was not aware that jenni was told that it would be "convenient" for her to appear in the video and he said that the content and script of the video was made by rubiales. but he suggested that rubiales should do it.

he also contradicted a statement made by jenni when she testified she was taken aside in sydney by rfef officials to talk about the kiss. timón said they asked jenni about ibiza and artists to perform at the celebration in madrid and not about the kiss.

timón said that he refused to participate in the "integrity" meeting that was discussed by the other witnesses and confirmed that luis de la fuente was present at rfef headquarters on 23 august but he stopped by to say hello.

rafa del amo went next and spoke of his conversations with rubiales in the aftermath of the kiss. he told rubiales that it "could be fixed if he apologised." rubiales refused and said that the kiss had been by mutual agreement. he confirmed he saw the initial statement by rfef on the incident and "didn't like it."

rafa del amo admitted that he saw pressures and felt the players were pressured but he did not personally see rubiales, de la fuente, or vilda speaking to jenni or jenni's brother on the plane. but he did see ivana andrés cry and said that someone told him that they were asking ivana to make a video. 

rafa hermoso then testified about jenni's being affected after the kiss and that he "saw her out of place and angry." he also said that jenni told him they were pressuring her to make a statement and that misa told her jorge vilda was going to talk to her.

rafa talked about vilda coming to him on the plane and trying to pressure him to talk to jenni. vilda asked about the kiss and focused everything as if it were no big deal, 'look, a spoiled kiss and the hype they are giving it.'

he confirmed that vilda said: '[rubiales] sent me to talk to you to see if your sister can appear in a video with her downplaying the kiss'. he told rafa it was the best for everyone. vilda told rafa about how bad rubiales' daughters were, that if jenni couldn't do it for them and for the president, that she could lose her position and to remember how well the federation has behaved with jenni and the favours they have done for her. rafa didn't know what he meant by that. and finally, vilda told rafa to take into account all the personal and professional consequences that all this could have on my sister.

rafa also talked about how their family had to leave madrid because of the media burden and they felt like they were in danger. and how horrible a feeling it was for jenni not to be called up after the world cup.

finally, rafa also said that he was wrong in downplaying the kiss during an interview with "el chiringuito" but that he was trying to protect his sister.

next, vitoriano testified and confirmed rafa's account of what happened with vilda on the plane. he testified that vilda said: "if [jenni] gives in, as she has little football left, rfef could have a deference with her, as if implying that she could have a position there. and if we didn't agree, it could also have consequences and not good ones...if it goes on the good side, good consequences, if it goes for the bad, it can have other consequences."

misa was the last witness for the day, who said clearly: "at no time did jenni tell us that the kiss was consensual." she saw jenni crying on several occasions when rubiales was talking to her inside the plane. there were several talks with rubiales, rafa del amo, vilda and four or five other people who she don't know their name, including a vox politician saying that 'the kiss doesn't matter'. misa remembered seeing de la fuente but doesn't know when. she also confirmed vilda spoke to jenni's brother on the plane.

when shown the video of the girls celebrating after the win and allegedly joking about the kiss, misa acknowledged that there were some jokes about the kiss until irene paredes said 'guys, this is very serious', and then they calmed down and realised how serious it was. and then they saw jenni "in a state" and it hit them.

misa also testified about what happened in ibiza after the win and said that jenni told her that albert luque was pressuring her. misa found it strange find it strange that a person who had nothing to do with the team was in ibiza because he wasn't at the world cup. and she testified that they did not enjoy [ibiza].

for misa, jenni had been the best on the team and "it was incomprehensible that he was not in the next call up."

a thought about kabru and mithrun and their time in the dungeon. (I love kabumisu but this is more about their canon relationship)

I have seen several people say that they dont think that kabru really cared about or liked mithrun. that he was just doing things cause he had to, etc. but I feel like this ignores something pretty cool about kabru. Kabru always has an inner monologue going on, one that we get to see.

several times when we see kabru doing nice things we can see that his inner monologue doesnt actually match. we see him kindly doing things that actively distress him several times. we as an audience are made very aware when kabru is doing something he doesnt really like.

so what kind of an inner monologue does kabru have when he performs caring tasks for mithrun? does he think about the advantages of having mithrun or the canaries on his side? does he think bitterly of mithrun? does he think about how much he hates this? the worst he thinks is "to think I'd get roped into this for the sake of that lot." and "this isnt seeing to his needs, this is nursing!" pretty early on in their journey together. this is while he is still digesting the full picture of mithruns condition and all the things hes going to need to do, the full weight of the situation now apparent.

after this, all we see is compassion. him thinking he would like to make mithrun something nice to eat, even if it wouldnt matter to him. him empathizing and reflecting on how not having desires would be really rough. him coming to understand where some of mithruns quirks, like his sense of direction, come from.

by the end, he has trusted mithrun enough to tell him about laios, and mithrun has given him all the information he has been searching for for YEARS.

and this is just the dungeon. kabru continues to involve himself with mithrun when its not his problem anymore. when really, he should be doing anything but. and after everything is done, if he truly did not care about mithrun, he has NO reason to do anything he does in chapter 94.

as far as mithrun goes, he gives kabru information, he asks him what he wants to do with that little smile (doesnt wait for his squad), slaps him out of his panic attack, and then kabru is the person he eventually confides his true desire to.

theyre FRIENDS and Im tired of people acting like they dont even like each other just bc they dont like the ship. you dont have to ship it, but if you think these 2 didnt drastically change each others lives in a positive way and that they dont care about each other...you maybe need to read again.

and also I think a lot of these takes veer on dehumanizing mithrun. like how could kabru even like him or see him as a friend when hes like that. like do yall forget mithrun was busy keeping kabrus ass from getting killed. or the way he perceptively sees straight through kabrus bs every single time until kabru finally tells the truth? — When Tyler first saw Ashlyn’s hair he had a mini HEART ATTACK and not because the girl had the audacity to just blindly used a KNIFE to cut all her hair off without even thinking but also because of how fugly and uneven it turned out to be. The following day he brought a pair of cutting sheers to the bus and fixed her hair up while scolding and rambling on at her like a pissed off mother in Spanish. Ashlyn was just confused because her Spanish weren’t sufficient to keep up with Tyler’s speed but she was smart enough to know everything Tyler was saying was probably to be repeated to Lily…but he also made a point of smacking her hand away every Ashlyn got impatient and tried doing it herself.

(She started paying more attention to Spanish classes after that).

— Taylor and Aiden are not trusted to do ANYTHING together by themselves. Tyler is the worst Aiden enabler ever, if he has a dumb idea she will try to talk it out of him for 2 minutes MAX and then give up and join him instead (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em). This once lead to them destroying a whole supermarket aisle while trying ride down their trolleys as fast as possible and then the second incident ensued them getting lost for 3 hours at a theme park (the only reason the rest of the gang found them in the end because Aiden somehow managed to sneak into the theme parks control room and use the mic).

— More Taylor and Aiden (because not enough people talk about these two!!!): They’re banned from playing music in the car. Aiden plays the same songs repeatedly on full blast and Taylor's song choices always end up starting a fight.

— Out of all of the gang the ones who get the best grades are Tyler, Logan and Aiden in that order. Logan and Tyler actually try really hard in class which is why they usually get A’s but while the STEM side of Logan’s grades are shining, the English side? Not so much. He’s working on it though! Somehow Aiden gets As and Bs while paying 0 attention in class. Taylor usually gets Bs with the occasional A, Ben usually gets B’s and Ashlyn’s grades have been slipping because of all the stress in the phantom realm, she used to get Bs and As but now she’s been seeing a lot more Cs and even D’s.

— Tyler and Ashlyn get forced to hold hands every time they argue until they apologise. Takes a damn long time for that to happen because it’s Taylor and Ashlyn. Why not just stop holding hands, you ask? Turns out Taylor Hernandez can be a REAL BITCH sometimes.

— Ben is an observer, sometimes when the group hangs out and something interesting happens, he’d sketch it out on his notepad and finish it at home. He also has sketches of all his friends but doesn’t like to show anyone because he’s a perfectionist lol.

— Even though Aiden’s house is the biggest, it’s actually Ashlyn’s house they mainly hang around with because of one thing: her parents. The Banners ended up becoming second parents to literally all of the kids and actually enjoy having them around.

— Adding onto the previous headcanon, Ashlyn’s parents have little details of the kid’s memorised. Like Logan’s peanut allergy, the way the Hernandez twins always linger around to try and help out someway,

— Aiden and Ben have separate rooms but more often than not Aiden usually ends up having spontaneous sleepovers in Ben’s room. Ben doesn’t mind and enjoys the company and Aiden dislikes the memories associated with his room.

— Taylor loves Taylor Swift, Ashlyn hates her for it (if she has to hear love story one more time she will sell Taylor to a phantom).

— Every time they hang out at Aiden’s house Taylor somehow always gets lost.

— They all make a point to show up for eachothers’ personal events e.g Tyler’s baseball games, Ashlyn’s ballet performances, help out at Logan’s greenhouse etc.

— Tyler is a secret romcom lover.

— Logan and Aiden are the resident horror enthusiasts.

Ever since the Norwegian women’s beach handball team turned the fact that they were required to wear teeny-tiny bikini bottoms for competition into a cause célèbre, a quiet revolution has been brewing throughout women’s sports. It’s one that questions received conventions about what female athletes do — or don’t — have to wear to perform at their very best.

It has touched women’s soccer (why white shorts?), gymnastics (why not a unitard rather than a leotard?), field hockey (why a low-cut tank top?) and many more, including running.

So it probably should not have come as a shock to Nike that when it offered a sneak peek of the Team U.S.A. track and field unies during a Nike Air event in Paris celebrating its Air technology on Thursday (which also included looks for other Olympic athletes, like Kenya’s track and field team, France’s basketball team and Korea’s break dancing delegation), they were met with some less-than-enthusiastic reactions.

See, the two uniforms Nike chose to single out on the mannequins included a men’s compression tank top and mid-thigh-length compression shorts and a woman’s bodysuit, cut notably high on the hip. It looked sort of like a sporty version of a 1980s workout leotard. As it was displayed, the bodysuit seemed as if it would demand some complicated intimate grooming.

Citius Mag, which focuses on running news, posted a photo of the uniforms on Instagram, and many of its followers were not amused.

“What man designed the woman’s cut?” wrote one.

“I hope U.S.A.T.F. is paying for the bikini waxes,” wrote another. So went most of the more than 1,900 comments.

The running comedian Laura Green posted an Instagram reel in which she pretended to be trying on the look (“We’re feeling pretty, um, breezy,” she said) and checking out the rest of the athlete’s kit bag, which turned out to include hair spray, lip gloss and a “hysterectomy kit,” so the women would not have to worry about periods.

When asked, Nike did not address the brouhaha directly, but according to John Hoke, the chief innovation officer, the woman’s bodysuit and the man’s shorts and top are only two of the options Nike will have for its Olympic runners. There are “nearly 50 unique pieces across men’s and women’s and a dozen competition styles fine-tuned for specific events,” Mr. Hoke said.

Women will be able to opt for compression shorts, a crop top or tank and a bodysuit with shorts rather than bikini bottoms. The full slate of looks was not on hand in Paris but more will be revealed next week at the U.S. Olympic Committee media summit in New York. The Paris reveal was meant to be a teaser.

Mr. Hoke also pointed out that Nike consults with a large number of athletes at every stage of the uniform design. Its track and field roster includes Sha’Carri Richardson, who happened to be wearing the compression shorts during the Paris presentation, and Athing Mu. And there are certainly runners who like the high-cut brief. (The British Olympic sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, another Nike athlete, told The New York Times last summer that while she opts to run in briefs, she also leans toward a leotard style, rather than a two-piece.)

What Nike missed, however, was that in choosing those two looks as the primary preview for Team U.S.A., rather than, say, the matching shorts and tanks that will be also available, it shored up a longstanding inequity in sports — one that puts the body of a female athlete on display in a way it does not for the male athlete.

“Why are we presenting this sexualized outfit as the standard of excellence?” said Lauren Fleshman, a U.S. national champion distance runner and the author of “Good for a Girl.” “In part because we think that’s what nets us the most financial gain from sponsors or NIL opportunities, most of which are handed out by powerful men or people looking at it through a male gaze. But women are breaking records with ratings in sports where you don’t have to wear essentially a bathing suit to perform.”

The problem such imagery creates is twofold. When Nike chose to reveal the high-cut bodysuit as the first Olympics outfit, purposefully or not, the implication for anyone watching is that “this is what excellence looks like,” Ms. Fleshman said.

That perception filters down to young athletes and becomes the model girls think they have to adopt, often at a developmental stage when their relationships with their bodies are particularly fraught.

And more broadly, given the current political debate around adjudicating women’s bodies, it reinforces the idea that they are public property.

If Biden deteriorates to the point of being unable to perform his duties (personally I consider this unlikely but I digress), Harris invokes the 25th

If Biden feels he can no longer perform his duties he steps down and let's Harris take over

Which is more than I can say for trump or the lunatic he'll choose for a vp

And that last point about Biden stepping down is important, Biden's sharper than people give him credit for, I do think he intends to serve a full term if reelected, but I do think he's also considered the possibility of being reelected, serving a year or two in that term, and then stepping down and letting Harris take over

Of course the thing with Harris is people right now are transparently trying to do to her what they did to Hillary leading up to 2016, and infuriatingly, people either don't see it or they're falling for it again!

It's the most fucking overblown thing ever, and represents the usual insane double standard. The media mentions Biden's age ALL THE TIME, and yet doesn't mention that Trump is just three years younger at 77, demonstrably in far worse physical shape, and clearly on the express train to senility. Whereas Biden is fit, active, bikes, works out, and otherwise is fine. Is he old? Yes. Who cares? He knows how to do the job and he is certainly a hell of a lot healthier than say, Mitch McConnell (81), who has openly frozen up on TV twice and plainly is not well. If it was Biden doing that ONCE, let alone twice, the media would be howling nonstop bloody murder. McConnell? Eh. Footnote.

Also, a lot of the scaremongering about Biden's age is directly related to scaremongering about Harris. If you vote for him and then he doesn't finish his term for whatever reason, A WOMAN OF COLOR WILL BECOME PRESIDENT AND BE IN CHARGE OF THIS COUNTRY!!!! That is the underlying message. Of course there is a system that handles it if the president, God forbid, should happen to die in office. But Oh Noes It's Scary Female Brown Kamala. Do you want to risk your vote for Biden knowing that ____SHEEEEE_____ might end up finishing his term in some capacity!?!?! She is scary! And brown! And female! And brown!!!
