#legend of zelda#loz#twilight princess#loz tp#i'm still reeling that someone sent me an ask about this one.. that they took the time to find my tumblr and tell me they liked it#it really meant a lot; thank you to anyone that stops to leave comments like that. they make me happy#but yeah! here's the usual symbolism ramble:#i thought it'd be cool to have the 'spirits' flowing one way and the cats walking through them the other way#to kinda show the difference in life inhabiting the village in the past and present#link's face is covered because impaz was just waiting for 'the hero' so his clothes are what matters; not his face#and it (hopefully) gives a surreal and intangible sense to 'the hero' she could only hope would actually show up#you can feel free to interpret the glowy blue sheikah as ghosts or just as memories of the past! i couldn't decide either way#the one on the bottom left is oot impa since she's implied to be the village founder. so i guess she would be a ghost actually?#fan art#my art#project stuff#and ahhh the book-- everyone's stuff is so beautiful!!#especially the writing. some of the fics made me really tear up and some were so fun and clever. i really love them#a lot of them captured the sheer burden of the role of the sheikah; all of the time and grief and doubt#i know i always say this stuff about every project but. the people i get to work with in these are truly so skilled every time

i feel like some people are still so weird about cats. i taught my cat "sit" recently and upon mentioning this to my one friend he said he didn't really believe cats learn tricks like dogs do (because they're independent-minded and don't have a drive to please their owners) and was like "she's only sitting because she knows she usually gets a treat from you if she does"
unlike dogs who... definitely don't normally learn tricks through positive reinforcement or like treats.... apparently...
#don't get me wrong i do think it varies by cat#also this is not an anti dog post just a 'wow people have strongly set ideas about cat personalities'#also hearing people constantly reiterate how independent and aloof cats are has been very surreal#because my cat is like... basically made of velcro. as loving as any dog ive ever owned. she just doesn't need to be taken out to poop#that's like the only difference in independence ive experienced lmao#not st#cats#doctor's log

One of the more surreal moments of my life was when I was on a zoom call with now an ex friend of mine who is straight explaining to her why straight pride doesn't exist, because she thought it was unfair, through the zoom chat because I couldn't say any of it aloud in fear that my homophobic family would hear me and I would end up in trouble or worse.

one thing i actually really like about star stable (and wanna embrace more in my own lore building stuff in my brain) is that it doesn't actually matter at all where your character came from, just that they're on jorvik now
#and it's exemplified in other characters too#and like with nova specifically#she left for a number of years#and essentially broke contact with all of her connections on jorvik#even her horses#but for the most part they welcomed her back as if she had never left#i think it's something that can be heartwarming on the surface and also a little bit sinister?#and surreal#it adds to the isolated and bizarre atmosphere on jorvik#where on the surface everything is quite warm and pleasant#but a lot of the juicy stuff in star stable for me comes from exploring like#what it means to not fit into the culture on jorvik#or what happens when someone embraces the isolation that the culture exemplifies with its unique equestrian relationships#like the hermit#or the vala#idk#these r just my thots#star stable online#nova snowfoot#ssoblr
