I genuinely don’t understand how Lestat is likable. Charming, handsome, seductive, sure. But likable? Imagine being a vampire. You’ve presumably been a vampire for a while. You live in the sewers and do nothing but self-flagellation and worship Satan. Then Lestat appears, and he’s a stage actor, and he’s beautiful and he lives his life in the light, not hidden away in shame. He fraternizes with humans, he’s a part of their society. Then you find out that he was made by Magnus, the same Magnus that deserted your Satan-worshipping cult, the all-powerful Magnus who only ever made one fledgling, and then immediately fucked off and died, leaving Lestat with his blood, power, and money. Lestat is the ultimate nepotism baby of Parisian vampire society at this point. So your boss goes to put him in line, and despite your boss overpowering Lestat physically, psychically, mentally, in literally every conceivable manner, Lestat somehow wins. He does this not through vampiric thrall or physical power, but simply by waltzing into the sewer and giving an arrogant little speech and throwing crucifix on the ground. Any vampire there could’ve killed him in an instant. But they don’t, and suddenly he’s their new leader, and he makes them all move to a theatre and rejoin human society, put on plays, etc. Then he goes back to the sewer to hook up with your leader who he’s utterly humiliated, and he comes back with new powers because he’s got the blood of two ancient vampires now, and then he fucks your old leader in a theatre box for everyone to see. Then some sort of boyfriend drama occurs, someone dies, it’s unclear, which leads him to bury himself in the ground for sixty years, and the moment he wakes up he immediately leaves for America. No goodbyes, no here’s my new address for future correspondence, he just leaves. Then you don’t hear from this man who liberated then led then enslaved you into being a theatre employee all while fucking your boss so good it permanently rearranged his brain and made him kill that man’s ex-boyfriend for about a hundred years, and then when you do, it turns out he’s been murdered by a child. Not any ordinary child, but his child, and she’s also a failure of a vampire (see: the great laws). So that’s humiliating. But it turns out he’s not really dead and he’s been sulking and eating rats, so you have him shipped back to Paris, and then the most dramatic throuple argument of all time occurs, because did I mention that your leader who used to get fucked by Lestat is now fucking Lestat’s ex-husband? Then you and your friends set up a sham trial to get rid of Lestat’s terrible, ungrateful, misbehaving fledglings and to usurp your leader and Lestat’s ex-situationship, because he’s really gotten annoying and dickmatized by Lestat’s ex-husband at this point, and the trial goes alright, but then Lestat saves his ex-husband (who literally tried to murder him, mind you) and immediately fucks off post-trial. Simultaneously, while the trial is happening, it’s definitely possible that your maitre (well, ex-maitre) at this point is torturing him, possibly because they’re still working out the fact that Lestat ghosted him. Then more time passes and suddenly there’s a book about Lestat published, then another couple years pass and he sells our Madison Square Garden, whatever the fuck that means. Like, it has to be so annoying to be a vampire and to be stuck as nothing but a witness to the hurricane of Lestat. The world moves when he wants it to! It spins on his axis! And he’s done nothing to deserve any of that power besides what, having a cunty little bob?

Hiii! I asked this question on the ‘Osana’ Reddit and you said you had more, SOOOO: What are all of your headcanons for the Male Rivals?? General Headcanons pretty pretty please :3
Haiii! Good to see you on here ^w^ & ofc!
(Also ignore the fact half of them don't get fun pictures or a gif I'm posting from the app lol xD)
General Male Rivals Head cannons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Osano Najime
He is stupidly good at playground games (like rock paper scissors, go fish, etc) to the point where nobody wanted to play with him as a kid because they knew he'd win.
Favorite Pixar movie is inside out.
He actually is really good friends with Hanako. They both spend a ridiculous amount of money on blind bags together. And whenever Osano goes to the store he keeps an eye out for ones Hanako would like.
And Hanako has made him a friendship bracelet, which Osano being the tsundere he is, promptly pretended to hate it but still wears it as an anklet to this day.
Has helped organize fund raisers for local animal shelters and veterinary emergency rooms.
I feel like he has contact lenses and wore glasses in middle school. Whenever he's doing his judgemental stare his friends if he's put his contacts in that day.
He gets really into decorating and customizing his phone, like changes his whole layout, stick, phone charms, pop socket, app overlays, wallpaper, depending on what season it is.
Reads shojo manga but pretends to hate it.
^ his favorite is fruits basket
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amao Odayaka
One time he was at his great grandma's house making sourdough bread, and he accidentally slammed it on the old wooden counter so hard that he made a hole which the dough fell through to the cabinet shelf below. So not only did he break a counter he also had to scrap the whole batch. That memory haunts him and keeps him up at night.
Impulsively buys every apron he sees. He has a whole section of his closet purely dedicated to aprons.
Favorite movie is ratatouille, naturally.
He is uh, a little dense when it comes to social cues. He's nice don't get me wrong, just he isn't very good at getting sarcasm.
His favorite deserts to make are macarons and pound cake.
He has a love-hate relationship with the Gordon Ramsay show 'Hell's Kitchen' because he gets ridiculously mad at the condition the kitchens are always in. But he loves seeing the before and afters.
He runs the cooking club like a pirate ship tbh, he usually has to break up fights between the members. Except for Saki because she minds her own beeswax.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kizano Sunobu
He has played many, many, roles in theater such as: The Wicked Stepmother From Cinderella, The Phantom of the opera, The Rat King, King George the third in Hamilton, and many more.
He can sing quite well, and took gymnastics lessons as a child so he could very much be considered a quadruple threat. (Singing, Acting, Dancing, and Acrobatics.)
Went to a preforming arts high school, but due to his family moving he had to transfer to Akademi.
His favorite animated movies are Leap! And Anastasia. Although he does have a love for old Disney aesthetics.
He has quite sensitive skin, being allergic to glycerin, so he has to be very particular about what products he buys.
Kizano plans on becoming a Broadway actor once he graduates, and because of that he is fluent in both Japanese and english, and is working on learning Spanish.
He really appreciates the club members who are stage hands, always making sure to thank them after every show.
While he is cocky, egotistical, and down right self centered at times, he does truly appreciate his club members.
He has some, interesting opinions on the other club leaders...
He likes and appreciates Amao, mainly because they both have an unyielding passion for their respective fields.
He hates and despises Asuo, because he finds him too relaxed and annoyingly positive.
He in fact does not know Oko exists.
Tumblr media
Oko Ruto
Is very good at sewing due in part to the fact he likes to replace the button hole embroidery on his white shirts to a beige tone and the buttons to match his eyes, making it look like his buttons are eyeballs. Also because sewing comes in handy for occult/supernatural shenanigans.
Likes to visit graveyards to see if there's any intriguing tomb stones. Like funny last words, statues of the dead, intriguing ways a person died, ect.
^ he is very respectful though, only really approaching graves that are particularly old.
The occult club does more than just stalking students and summoning demons. they also practice ways to tell the future, speak to ghosts, birth chart and palm readings, and alien investigation night. (Held every other Tuesday.)
He watches BuzzFeed unsolved supernatural. Because weirdly enough true crime gives him the creeps but not ghosts and ghouls.
His favorite animated movies are, Spirited Away, Alice in wonderland, and Paranorman.
His father was a paranormal investigator, but has major Dale Gribble vibes so safe to say he runs an occult goods shop with tarot cards, oujia boards, future reading tea and eggs, and more now after being 'encouraged to retire'.
His mother is a practicing psychic who was actually brought in to help solve the murders at Akademi. She now runs an in store future reading service. Personality wise she's very much so like Jessica Rabbit, sweet charming, and a showman at heart.
Asuo Rito
This man seems like a golden retriever and he is, but sweet Lord does he not actually process his emotions. Everytime he gets upset over something he just throws himself further into training regiments.
Has like seven dogs currently and overall in his life he's had twenty.
Enjoys all sports but knows he should be focusing on just one, but he just can't pick. He enjoys track and field best, but that could just because that's what he wins the most medals for....
Took one martial arts lesson when he was ten and Budo accidentally broke his nose. Swore off martials arts ever since.
Speaking of which, childhood friends with Budo, although at first they didn't like each other because they were on opposing soccer teams.
He in fact does not know Kizano has one sided beef with him. He thinks of all the club leaders as his friends, except Kaga, he finds him creepy.
Favorite animated movie is the Incredibles.
Man is his and his teams own cheerleader, doing full on chants and cartwheels at swim meets.
^ has accidentally cartwheeled into the pool, DURING A RACE.
Mujo Kano
This man would make a better mortician than a nurse! He always gets hung up on fixing patients hair rather than filling out important paperwork.
Studying to be a pediatrician, specifically specializing in infants.
Has an unhealthy build a bear problem. He builds a bear every week and they have invaded his couch, bed, and shelves.
He is a walking disaster. Someone save him.
Osoro Shidesu
Chain smoker, no further elaboration.
He's weirdly stoic, like definitely not a party person, despite being a delinquent hooligan he reminds sorta like an old timey knight.
Rbf to the max, man came into this world with a scowl. There's not a single picture of him in his childhood where he doesn't look like a hell spawn.
Good at cooking in the same way a shady Denny's chef is good at cooking. Like cigarette in hand, cussing under his breath, while making the best funfeitti pancakes known to man.
It brings joy to his grinchy little soul to see a slug bug. Like in ironically giggles when he sees one.
Also thinks clowns are hilarious. In another life he'd be a shady circus owner.
He either has the cutest softest smile known to man, or the creepiest smirk ever.
Favorite animated movie, Up and lady and the tramp.
At his core he does believe in fairness. If a guy is harassing a waitress he won't hesitate to take him outside iykyk.
Hanako Yamada
Has gotten his arm stuck in an arcade machine after trying to just grab the plushie he wanted. The fire station was called and had to help get him out.
Wears keychains on his belt loops of his favorite characters like Keroppi, Hello Kitty and Mimi, and Happy from fairy tail.
Is actually not that social around those he doesn't know, personally I like to think he has some form of social anxiety which prevents from getting close to many people.
The reason why he dresses so cutely is that he figured that even if people stared at him, at least he'd know why rather than just being clueless.
Favorite animated movie is the toy story saga which he cries to every time he rewatches.
Really enjoys playing matchmaker with people he knows, for example in middle school he introduced his aunt to his homeroom teacher, leading for them to get married three years later.
Loves playing animal Crossing (and spending a ridiculous amount on leaf tickets in pocket camp)
Has an absurd amount of plushies, except he does know how to stack them properly to make it seem like he only has a few.
Is studying to be an architect or interior designer, he hasn't quite decided yet but he hopes to someday make homes that'll reflect his clients essence.
Has two pet hamsters, Hamtaro and Hamantha.
Megamo Saikou
Denser than cement when it comes to how much things cost. Not like business expenses because he's been trained for that, but he does think a loaf of bread costs twenty bucks.
Was a premature baby and had a heart problem causing him to be rushed into surgery nearly immediately after being born.
Would be studying to be a brain surgeon if he wasn't set in stone to inherit the company.
Actually rather appreciates the arts, such as art galleries and musical theater.
Favorite animated movie is sleeping beauty.
Likes to people watch, he finds it amusing to see how others live.
Is a horrible cook, like cannot make box Mac n cheese.

wrote a teeny thing in accompaniment for this below under the cut!
There were whispers of confusion among the troopers after they had lifted off from Takodana. Lord Ren had boarded the ship with a prisoner, the scavenger who supposedly held the map of Skywalker’s whereabouts. They had watched in silent surprise as he’d strode in with the unconscious young woman in his arms, bearing her weight with no trouble. He hadn’t even cuffed her yet!
As soon as the ship door closed behind them and the prison keepers came forward to take the burden of the captive away and to her new cell, Lord Ren pinned them with a dead stare that made them pause and then turn tail swiftly.
Since then he’d stayed in the cargo hold. Everyone else was too nervous to approach, watching with ill-concealed curiosity. If General Hux had been there he surely would’ve had no qualms about going to Lord Ren and snapping him back to his normal state but he could not be summoned, as he was occupied.
By then the force sleep the scavenger was under was beginning to wear thin. She was coming in and out of it, a desert rat used to blazing heat now shivering in the frosty air of the ship. Her eyes were opening slightly, befuddled and uncomprehending, but she didn’t speak, looking as though she believed she were in the thick of a dream. Incredibly, Lord Ren didn’t seem to mind, to everyone’s shock--nor did he seem angry. In fact, he looked quite the opposite as he held her. No one had ever seen him so at peace, nor so protective of a stranger, much less a prisoner.
She looked up at his face and appeared frightened for just a moment, and then her face relaxed as if she recognized him just before the force sleep took hold of her again and she fell unconscious again.
The spectacle only lasted ten minutes. News came from the command center that Hux was on his way with questions about the situation on Takodana. He was expecting to have the map in hand immediately. The threat of his arrival and empty hands finally pushed the prison keepers to approach Ren again, and he relinquished the sleeping scavenger at last, not sparing her an extra glance as she was taken away to her cell.
He was frowning now, back to his usual self. Once, he shook his head--in disbelief, perhaps, as if he too couldn’t understand what had just happened to prompt his strange behavior.

In defensive Ace my favorite greasy desert rat with the riz of that greasy line cook that you know lays legendary pipe.
There are several ways to ensure you do not get burned like seastone bracelets, partially submerge him in seawater or just you know he lives with Marco the Phoenix who can heal just about any injury because Phoenix Powers. I mean that would be an awkward conversation, but I think you'd be fine. He could heal you if he burned you down there It would be painful, yes. But at least Ace would feel incredibly guilty and treat you like a queen afterwards
He also lives with Marco the Phoenix. He's a doctor. You're telling me Marco hasn't sat that boy down and taught him safe sex to make sure that boy doesn't have chlamydia. Marco has many adopted Brothers because of the sons of Whitebeard. Marco probably has a wrap-it-up poster in every room of that ship because he's probably seen some things if my brother's experience as a Navy medic is anything to judge and base my headcanon on.
So I think our non is just paranoid and needs to calm down and enjoy our little fantasy with our wonderful little desert rat because there is no way Ace is not good in bed. He managed to rizz up Yamato again. There's no way he's not good in bed
For context, they are responding to this post about Ace

Wow! People remember this post. This is for the original first Defend Your Blurbo post from 3 weeks ago. Talk about the series that keeps on giving. But I will never forget reading the phrase "third-degree coochie burns" and laughing hysterically when reading that original post because that's why Defend Your Blurbo became its own series

Swordtember 7 - Moon
Longer lore piece below. Rendering nacre is harder than I thought btw.
10 Invocations for 10 Moons
O Milkmoon! Life and growth and rot and unloving lust. All things that spread because they must, and all things that take because they can. You the ancient forest and the stinking city, the corn in the field and the smut upon it. You, language and terrible ideas that spread through furtive whispers, poisoning the dwelling minds. You, the disgusting undying evergrowing! The beautiful cancer inside all things! O Halcyon! Grow!
O Coalmoon! The everflowing torrent of change. The violent storm of light and fire and lightning and smoke! You, the forge that melts the world and mixes and ruins and fixes and starts again! You, the white-hot flame that makes glass from deserts and brick from clay and ash from men! You, the violent storm that changes them again to something new! O Labile! Change!
O Saltmoon! The long-held breath; existence without resolution! You yourself the fear of death. You, salted fish and mummified kings! You, the unmarred monument-stone and the author's name on a page! History now and never-past. The unbroken line and unmoving sky! You, still water and rock-hard bread. You who cannot stop, for you cannot move! O Sterile! Continue!
O Winemoon! The impossible dance, shattered legs, and blooded throat! The thirst for drink that already pumps through veins! You, the song that never ends! The silent  verses that flow in a torrents from the lungs of all. The melody in birdsong and the rhythm in the beating of hearts! You the first, last, and million dances unending! The scurrying of rats and the procession of pilgrims! The flowing of water and the whirling of atoms! O Blithe! Revel!
O Nacremoon! The beauty in numbers; the constant ticking up and down and ceaselessness of a spiraling fractal. You the tides of gain and loss. You the lies of luck! You, outlier in an infinite range! The meaningless profundity between digits! You who live in the clink of coins and the arc of arrows. You which breathes probability and bleeds geometric form!  You, the one perfect thing! O Mnemonic! Reckon!
O Silkmoon! The billion lines in a billion webs. You, the strands connecting me to you and you to them and them to me! The lines that connect our eyes to these words and these words to their meanings in a million doomed languages! You, the threads of love and hatred and fealty. The connections between the disconnected! The net of staggering complexity that ties everything that does and does not exist! You, worm-spider in the shape of a moon, spinning and knitting and cutting and shaping! O Sibling! Tether!
O Bilemoon! Flesh and beautiful body. The face perfect, all sharp curves and smooth edges! The glow of sickened health. You, the muscular fat rippling across wide tracts of flesh! You, fast-strength! You skin radiant! You eyes clear! The cutless and malleable form radiating death and sex! You the beautiful parts of existing! You incarnation incarnate! The singular point of body! O Chassis! Live!
O Sugarmoon. You the sky and sea! The wanderer and a researcher. The seer and a thinker! You, the answerless question; the sweet smell on the wind and far-off shore from whence it came! You, the prow of every ship. The boots of every wanderer. The wind in sails! You, promise of discovery! Onward. Onward. Onward! The acidic desire for discovery. The thousand miles within a step and the step  of one thousand miles. You, the hidden name! The reason to search. The lie that gives discovery stronger meaning. You, the push- pull freeing us from stagnation! The sky and sea and the vast stretches of land. The roads and paths and meadows and monuments and wonders on the page and in the minds of explorers. O Peregrine! Seek!
O Venommoon! The vengeance for a broken thing. The well-undeserved punishment. You, the thing that knows sins and castigation! Rejected fate. The death of the young and the continuation of the old. You, the steel-flash of retribution. You, implacable justice. The death of the killer. You, impatience. You, rash action! Destiny taken into unworthy hands. The failed severing of cause and effect, and the successful bending of rules. You, the rebel-judge! O Bellicose! Try!
O Oilmoon! The wretched and unfair hive of golden finery and silver-wealth. You, power manifest! You, monarch in wing-flesh! The servitude of slaves; golden light on the crown; silver light on the usurper's sword. You, the right to rule and the power to enforce! You, every-kenning. The scurrying ants underfoot and the marching steps of soldiers above. You who force the bent knee. Command. You the law and the tax and the splendor and wealth of vast nations. You, the honeycombed tracts of land, the spread and focused will. You, the draw of fealty, the protection of leaders, the fear of tyrants. O Primate! Domineer!

I'm sorry in advance. (●^o^●)
1 & 26 for Izou, Marco, Rayleigh, and Ace, please.
xD Greedy! Alright, though, alright, let's do this
Why do you like or dislike this character?
This is... harder than expected XD
I like Marco because he's Marco like. Augh. Words are failing me right now I think XD He's just so calm, it's rare he loses his cool, he communicates so well T-T and he's hot. He's so hot. That voice, those hands, that height, those eyes... the talons. Gods have mercy.
Izou is just a beautiful man. Stunning. Such a brat. You just KNOW it too. It doesn't matter how graceful he is, he's a brat, and I love that. I love his strength, his power - how he's just like... dear words, I need you now, stop going away.
They're all just so complex - every fucking character in that show has more to them than just one thing or some gimmick - not even Buggy has a single layer to him, and I just--
Rayleigh is chill, and that experience and knowledge under the surface isn't hurting anything either. He's in the doghouse with me right now too, but he won't even stay there. You know he could remove a bra with one finger.
And Ace T-T Ace just deserves to be loved. All the love. all the hugs. They all belong to Ace. Poor, sweet little greasy desert rat T-T I wanna hug him.
(In my defense, today was my first day back to work after a month off, so I am slightly brain fried.)
We'll do 15 for the 26.
15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
I've said before, I'm not a big canon x canon shipper, but this is too funny to pass up.

Star Wars Prequels Thoughts
Okay, as requested by @rainintheevening (or more accurately, as forced upon you all by myself), here are my thoughts on the Prequels.
Now I want to preface by saying this - I love Star Wars, I love all of the Star Wars films, and I am far from a Prequels hater. However, I think that there are a few things that could have been done differently to make the franchise as a whole better. This whole thing came up from my wish that Star Wars had been made so that you could watch from Episode I on and not miss anything, as opposed to the way that the Prequels we have are built on the shoulders of the OT. Anyhow.
The first major change that I would make is this: the movies would have focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi as the main character far above any other character. Anakin would have been a sidekick in the Obi-Wan story. We would have started and ended with Obi Kenobi.
TPM -
Phantom would almost entirely follow the plot that is already established. The big change, though, is that instead of Anakin Skywalker being a little junkyard rat from Tatooine, he is already a Jedi padawan.
So here's the shot - at the start of the film, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his former padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, now a full-fledged Jedi knight, go to negotiate with the Trade Federation that has blockaded Naboo. Each of these Jedi has a padawan of his own - Jinn's is the young, brash, Anakin Skywalker. Kenobi's padawan is more mild-mannered and force-attuned. Let's call him Bob Dirtswimmer for the sake of clarity. Kenobi's fiery impulsiveness is played up to a big extent - he's brash, doesn't think things through before doing them, and he negotiates exclusively with his lightsaber. Jinn is more calm and level-headed. Their respective padawans both get along better with the other master, which causes some friction.
Like I said, the plot pretty well follows what already exists – the Trade Federation doesn’t want to comply, the Jedi are forced to ally with first Jar Jar, and rescue Queen Amidala. They escape the planet but are forced to land on the desert planet Tatooine, where they are befriended by a young moisture farmer named Owen. Owen hates Tatooine, hates moisture farming, and he hates how bored he is in life. All he wants is to escape the planet with his girlfriend Beru and become a pilot. While Kenobi and Jinn try to negotiate for parts to repair their ship, Anakin and Owen become fast friends, spurred on by their similar distaste for boredom and the ‘sedentary’ lifestyle that is being pushed on them by their respective mentors (Cliegg pushing Owen to join him as a moisture farmer, Qui-Gon pushing Anakin to be more mindful of the living Force instead of so action-oriented). Dirtswimmer tries to get along with them, but he feels excluded because he is far less inclined to join in on the action of things.
They eventually manage to secure the parts with the help of Owen. As repayment, they allow him and Beru to join them. He immediately and happily settles into the cockpit and gets some flying lessons from the Queen’s royal pilots. On the way to Coruscant to plead for Naboo’s case, we see Anakin begin to grow close to one of the queen’s handmaidens. Then we get the bit where Palpatine, the senator from Naboo, begins pushing Chancellor Valorum to raise an army to fight the Trade Federation’s unjust claims. Dirtswimmer remains on Coruscant to help Palpatine rally support for Naboo while the other Jedi return with the queen to retake the planet. Anakin and Owen fly together against the control ship because they are both skilled pilots, leaving Kenobi and Jinn to face off against Maul.
Now, since Qui-Gon is a bye-gone, Kenobi takes Anakin on as his second apprentice, teaching him at the same time as Dirtswimmer. At the end of the film, Palpatine talks to Dirtswimmer around Jinn’s funeral and mentions how disappointing it is that the Jedi with whom he really connected was now gone, leaving him to be the third wheel in the Obi-Ani Show.
AotC - We're going to get into some big changes that will be important, so keep track of this stuff.
Side note: Master Yoda is often referred to, but never seen. He is described as being the greatest warrior of the entire Jedi Order, but he has abandoned it because he believes that the Order has lost its way.
Again, we follow the same vague film plot - it begins with Naboo's new Junior Senator, Padme Amidala. She and Palpatine, the Senior Senator, are on Coruscant to debate the creation of a clone army for the republic. Palpatine represents the Nabooian populace that is in favor of the law - which is a significant portion, considering the Republic’s failure to assist them when they were being attacked years before - while Padme represents the minority who believe that such an act would be inhumane and lead to dictatorship.
There have been many threats against anyone who opposes the law, so three Jedi are assigned to protect Amidala - Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Bob. There is a brief moment of happiness when they reunite, and Anakin and Padme almost immediately get going with the flirtation once again - something that Dirtswimmer sees is inappropriate, but Kenobi brushes off as unimportant. That night, there is an attempt on Amidala's life. The Jedi manage to protect the Senator and Anakin and Obi-Wan immediately set off after the would-be assassin while Dirtswimmer notices a second assassin following behind. Just as they capture the first accomplice, Dirtswimmer attacks the second - a Mandalorian. Mando and Dirtswimmer engage in a brief fight but Mando manages to knock Dirtswimmer off of him, hits the first accomplice with a poison dart, and escapes.
With this information, the trio of Jedi splits. Anakin is ordered to accompany Padme back to Naboo for her protection, Dirtswimmer is to work with Senator Palpatine to investigate who in the Senate is responsible for these attacks, and Obi-Wan is assigned to investigate the Mando alongside another Jedi Knight - Siri Tachi, with whom he clearly has history.
Padme is initially against the idea of leaving, but Palpatine manages to talk her into going for her protection and assures her that he will recall her before the vote takes place. On Naboo, Anakin and Padme get swept up in their whirlwind romance and whatnot. Owen and Beru accompany them with Owen as the pilot of their ship.
While they are doing that, Bob is pulled aside by our good 'ole boy Sheev. He is acting as Padme's advisor and is a good friend to her, and he notices that Bob is being ignored by Anakin and that when they are together with Kenobi, his opinions are often rejected in favor of the more aggressive attitudes of Kenobi and Skywalker. Slowly and insidiously, Sheephen begins to convince Dirtswimmer that he is the more powerful Force user and that his powers are not being appreciated.
Meanwhile, Obi-Kenobi and Siri are looking for Mando. As they investigate, they share some romantic tension as well. Eventually they track Mando to Kamino where they find the clone army has already been constructed on the orders of the current Supreme Chancellor. They make contact with Jango Fett, a civilian contractor who was hired to be the clone template. While talking to him they are attacked by Mando, who has come to plant bombs in the cloning facilities. Fett earns their trust by fighting Mando alongside them and disabling the bombs himself.
After the battle, Kenobi and Tachi follow Mando to Geonosis. There, they find that a massive droid army has been produced with the intent of waging war against the Republic. They are captured and separated, and Dooku appears to attempt to turn Kenobi to his side. The conversation goes about as well as it does in canon.
Dirtswimmer contacts Anakin to inform him that the Supreme Chancellor has been voted out of office because he ordered the clone army without the consent of the Senate, and Palpatine has already won the vote to take his place in a landslide. He also mentions that they have lost contact with Obi-Wan. Anakin and Dirtswimmer agree that this is bad news, so Anakin and Padme go to Geonosis to try to find them (where they get captured) while Dirtswimmer is convinced by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to talk the Jedi Council into leading the Republic’s new army in a battle against the massive droid factories that Obi-Wan reported on.
The Council reflects for a while, and someone mentions that they wish Master Yoda had not left the Order because he, being one of the greatest and most powerful Jedi Warriors, would have known what to do. Finally they refuse the advice to take the army. We get an inkling that Jedi are somewhat vain - they say things like “The Jedi order has protected the Republic for millennia, we will do so now.” Instead of taking the Clone Army, a relatively small task force of Jedi is sent instead.
The arena scene happens normally, from the gladiator fights to the Jedi being outnumbered in the middle of the arena and surrounded by SBDs. Then, suddenly, Bob shows up to save the day along with the Clone Army. He obviously rejected the Council's decision in favor of trusting Palpatine, which seems to have been the proper call.
Obi-Wan and Anakin are honestly appreciative of Dirtswimmer for the first time. While he stays behind to  coordinate the clone attack, Skywalker and Kenobi chase down Dooku. When they get to the staging area where Dooku plans to escape, Kenobi is suddenly confronted by Siri Tachi, who has taken the Sith's side. She immediately knocks Anakin to the side, then says that Dooku has already fled and tries to convince Kenobi to join her. She makes several good points about the corruption of the Republic and also saying that they would be able to be together if they left the Jedi Order in her plea and Obi-Wan is tempted, but finally refuses. Tachi gives him the “if you’re not with me, then you’re my enemy,” line and they duel, ending with Kenobi being forced to kill his lady love. It is very emotional.
Bob and the other Jedi lead the clone army to victory.
The end of the film shows Anakin and Padme marrying in a private ceremony, Kenobi mourning Tachi, and Dirtswimmer and Sheephen counseling each other even more.
RotS - Buckle up buttercups, we're going down the rabbit hole now.
Starts with the attack on Coruscant and the A-Team rescuing Sheephen from Dooku. When they get aboard the Invisible Hand Kenobi is distracted by Grievous, leaving Anakin and Bob to fight Dooku together. While Anakin is a good match for Dooku in terms of dueling prowess, Dirtswimmer is very clearly out of his depth. Still, when Dooku knocks Anakin back and makes a move to execute Palpatine, Dirtswimmer manages to leap forward and kill the Sith Lord instead. Anakin is clearly upset that his fellow Jedi - who isn’t nearly as skilled with a saber as he - managed to get the kill, whereas Bob is getting pretty cocky about what he managed to do.
So they land, get celebrated, blah blah blah. Anakin is starting to have nightmares but, even though this version of the Jedi Order is a lot more lax with relationships, he can’t exactly go to any of his fellow Jedi for help because his marriage is still technically a no-no (even though several Jedi like Aayla Secura and Kit Fisto are shown to have developed ‘secret’ relationships like.) As a result, he starts speaking with Palpatine since the man is a close friend of Padme’s.
So, in a few shots to show how the war is progressing we are shown that 1) the Jedi are becoming more and more aggressive in their combat styles, and 2) there is a squad of bounty hunters led by the elusive Mandalorian from the previous film that is proving very effective against Jedi. At one point we get a shot of Aayla being ambushed and killed by this squad so we know they mean business.
There are many mentions that "I wish the great warrior Master Yoda were here to lead us" but again, he does not appear.
At the same time as all this, Jango Fett is the key liaison between the clone army and the Senate. He is a GoodGuy(™) trusted by both the Jedi and the senate.
The film follows most of its plot, with the addition of Sheev influencing both Anakin and Bob at this point - Bob through his feelings of rejection by his master and fellow former padawan, Anakin through his pride and fear of losing Padme (that way we can still get some good "tragedy of Darth Plageuis the Wise" action in here). Obi-Wan is sent out to finish off Grievous. Instead of Anakin, Palpatine wants Bob to be planted on the Council as his liaison with the Jedi. When Obi-Wan leaves he secretly tells Anakin to keep an eye on Dirtswimmer because he’s afraid of the influence that Palpatine is exerting over him.
The Jedi Order realizes that the Chancellor is the second Sith and they send The Squad to kill him. This time, though, Sheev doesn't fight (because there's nothing wrong with a powerful force user not being able to also duel with lightsabers.) Instead, Mando and his squad are there to protect Palpatine. The Jedi immediately attack and start picking them off one-by-one, but both Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin are eventually killed.
Finally it's just Kit Fisto and Mace Windu back-to-back fighting the rest of the squad. Fisto sees a chance to kill Mando (who he has been hunting, since Mando is the one who killed his lover Secura). Kit smashes Mando against the wall and is about to murderize him when the helmet comes off and he sees that Mando is Jango Fett. In Fisto's moment of confusion, Fett manages to stab him with a vibro blade. Windu kills Fett, but Palpatine uses his Force lightning to kill Windu. A real paper-beats-rock-beats-scissors moment.
Interspersed with this duel is Kenobi's attack on Grievous. Kenobi is clearly taking out all of his negative emotions from the past few years on the cyborg, who seems to be enjoying it at first because he thinks he stands a chance. Eventually, though, it becomes clear that Grievous is outmatched. Kenobi kills him somewhat brutally. Maybe reminiscent of that CGI cutscene version of Grievous’s death.
Meanwhile, Bob arrives at Palpatine’s office just after Windu’s death and reveals that he was part of the plan all along and has become Palpatine’s new apprentice. Sheephen tells Bob to go to Mustafar to destroy the Separatist leadership (which was sent there by Grievous when Kenobi first attacked) in order to end the war.
Anakin watches this interaction from a distance. He sends a communication to Obi-Wan to warn him that Palpatine is the Sith and that Bob is going to Mustafar on his orders. Obi-Wan starts to tell Anakin to wait for his return when suddenly Palpatine gives the big "The time has come, Commander" speech, and Obi-Kenobi gets blasted out of the sky by Cody.
We get the Order 66 sequence which is largely unchanged. Owen helps Kenobi escape and together they fly away, clones everywhere are turning on and killing their Jedi leaders. Meanwhile, Anakin leaves his extremely pregnant wife on Coruscant, promising, "I'm doing this for us," and takes off after Bob.
Bob and Anakin arrive on Mustafar at the same time, where they find the Separatist leaders already massacred by their own droid armies. Anakin acts completely surprised by this, but Bob just starts laughing and says, "I thought they were my final test, but I was wrong. It’s you." He ignites his lightsaber and says, "Only one of us is leaving this place alive."
Cue massive lightsaber battle. Anakin and Bob are jumping all over crap, lava is everywhere, the whole nine. Obi and Owen arrive on the planet just in time to see both padawans fling themselves at each other over a lava river, and both of them seemingly fall in. They try to fly their ship down to rescue Anakin, since it is clear that Bob has turned to the dark side. Before they can, though, a Star Destroyer arrives in-system and they have to run away.
Obi pretty much breaks down. He has lost his master, killed his girlfriend, lost a padawan to the dark side and just watched that fallen Jedi kill his favorite padawan. Owen is also seen with tears on his face because Anakin was one of his best friends.
Kenobi and Owen meet up with Bail Organa, who has secreted Padme away to his fancy moon-based hospital where she is dying in childbirth. Kenobi (who figured out a long time ago that she and Anakin were married but didn't do anything about it) can't bring himself to tell her that Anakin is dead and instead promises that he is on his way and will be there soon. She dies with a smile on her face talking about how Ani is her hero, and Kenobi breaks down big time.
Meanwhile, Palpatine is on Mustafar and a scarred figure drags itself out of the lava river. The person is too disfigured to recognize, but Palpatine is pleased and collects them. They are then sealed into the Vader suit, and Palpatine tells them, "You have finally earned your place at my side. Rise, Darth Vader." We get the dramatic shot of the full Vader suit stepping out of the shadows, with the implication being that Bob is the one inside because he was the one who wanted to join Palps.
Organa and his wife take Leia because they have just suffered a miscarriage that no one knows about, so it will be easy to protect her as their child. Owen offers to take Luke and he and Beru return to Tatooine - the place that he most hates - in order to protect Luke from Bob and the Emperor. Though Kenobi accompanies Owen to protect Luke, there is now a level of animosity between them because they both blame Obi-Wan for Anakin's death.
The episode ends with Owen and Beru holding Luke and watching Tatooine's twin sunset.
-
So. All of that being said. The big reason why I think that the Prequels would be better for these changes is this: I want all of Star Wars to be centered around the big reveal that Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker. The Phantom Menace was written with the idea that everybody already knew - I think that it would have been a lot more fun if we got three whole movies that led you to believe that Anakin Skywalker was dead and gone. That Bob Dirtswimmer was in the suit, he had killed Luke’s father, and he was the evil one. Then, “No, I am your father,” would hit so much harder. I also think it would be more fun to have Yoda missing all the way through the Prequels but built up with the expectation of him being this incredible warrior because it builds into the twist in Empire - by the time we get there, we are expecting someone incredible. Even Master Windu was talking about what a great warrior this Yoda was… the fact that he is actually just a muppet with a great understanding of the Force would feel much more impactful.
So there we go. That’s the type of Prequel trilogy I would have wanted. If you actually managed to read all of this… you have my sincerest apologies.

A Shishakli/Feyd-Rautha snippet...
The woman had large eyes awash in dark blue and a defiant set to her jaw.  Dried blood streaked down her face and over her lips.
Slowly, Feyd-Rautha approached.  “You killed nine of my men with one single blade.”
It wasn’t a question, but he did hope for some kind of reaction.  Some evidence of a fierce warrior hiding beneath the surface.
With each measured step, the weight of his side blade shifted in his armor.  Machines are not warriors.  His hand flexed over her weapon and his eyes roamed over her form, calculating.  Weighing her as an opponent.
She leaned increasingly away as he advanced, almost against her will.  Maybe a deep-rooted survival instinct, creating space between herself and a predator.  A familiar warmth hummed up his spine.
He waited, looking down on this fighter, her knees biting into the hard floor of the cave.  She was grossly outnumbered and there was nothing in her posture to suggest she would launch an attack.  And yet, she did not cower under the weight of his gaze.
Fire burned in her eyes as she met his stare, arching her neck up from where she had been thrown on the ground.  Blackened, charred birds encircled her.
Had this desert rat really killed nine?  A rising ache to fight pulsed through him, up and down his arms and legs.  His thoughts raced with possibilities.  What if he kept her?  He could have her thrown in the brig of the ship.  Take her back to Geidi Prime, maybe get a training session or two out of her.  Maybe he could even put her in the arena.  The crowds would go wild over a female opponent, especially one who could fight back properly.
She held his gaze and boldly raised her chin.  Feyd-Rautha stared down into those hard eyes and knew.  Saw the lethal hatred harbored there.  Truly, it excited him.  But this was not a filthy desert rat or sacred winged bird.  She was a viper.  And she’d kill them all if she got the chance.
No, he couldn’t keep her.  There was no time and he could not lose focus.  Battle momentum was a crucial military tactic.  He had to burn her.
“She won’t talk.”  A deputy to her right said, shifting forward.
Feyd-Rautha glanced at the deputy, taking in the blood staining his underarm.  Likely her work.  The ache to combat her intensified.  But he internally sighed, resigned.
“Tell her that’s fine.”  Feyd-Rautha handed her blade over to another deputy.  It was a shame he wouldn’t get to test her fighting skill for himself before she was dispatched, but at least she would suffer at his hand for the death of his men.  “I know everything I need to know.”
He held out his hand for the torch handle and for the first time her proud chin faltered.  The corner of his mouth twitched, “Pleasure is all that remains.”
Her dark eyes watered and the hatred in them intensified.
His finger rested over the handle trigger as he directed the spout end towards her, “Does the desert rat have a name?”
Oddly, this is what made her finally speak up.
“What difference does it make to you!”  A furious snarl erupted between her teeth and she started climbing to her feet.
Three deputies lunged forward to force her back down, but he held a hand aloft to stop them.
He smiled, black teeth gleaming at her.  “None.”
Standing now, she tipped her chin and glowered.  The woman was taller than he expected, lithe.  Balanced forward on her feet.  Surely she moved with rapid efficiency in hand-to-hand.
Feyd-Rautha tilted his head, waiting.  “Nothing else?”
He shrugged, raising the torch once more.
“I am Shishakli.”  The dried blood cracked over lips as she spoke.
Feyd-Rautha paused, fixated on the specks of red.  Shishakli.  Shishakli.
With renewed determination, the woman stood to her full height.
“Shishakli Modun of Sietch Tabr.  A child of the Zensunni Tribe.  And we will not be defeated by you,” she growled.
Then she reared back her head and spit right at him.  He watched it land on his boots.
“Shishakli Modun,” he narrowed his eyes at her now, “… of Sietch Tabr.  Prepare for death.”
Suddenly, a blast sounded from outside and the mountain shook.  Dust and sand vibrated in the air around them, creating a cloud.
Feyd-Rautha glowered as his commanders scrambled to run outside.  The woman though, he held her eyes and she smiled.

Shishakli escapes and Feyd-Rautha gives chase.

Rats from a sinking ship
Sailors believed that rats had a sixth sense and that the sight of them leaving a ship in large numbers was a portent of disaster.
Shakespeare noted the tendency in The Tempest: ... they prepared a rotten carcass of a boat, not rigg'd, nor tackle, sail, nor mast; the very rats instinctively have quit it.
Tumblr media
Rats leaving a sinking ship passed shocked sailors, 19th Century (x)
There could have been something to this belief, because rate were denizens of the bilge, the nethermost region inside the ship's hull and the first place to flood when a vessel takes on water. In 1625, Francis Bacon, giving the metaphor a land base, wrote of the " wisdom of rats that will be sure to leave a house somewhat before it fall." And people also liked to call deserters rats who abandon the sinking ship.  When abandoning a cause that seems doomed to failure, a person is considerd to be a rat fleeing a figuratively sinking ship.
