Once or twice this year I've been right on the brink of coming back but schedule stuff always keeps me from letting myself commit to that again, and that in turn has kept me from posting anything at all. But I've been in an unexpected drawing mood lately and so if I can get enough stuff to set up a queue we might pretend I'm back for a month or so sometime this year. Maybe. Hopefully. We'll see. i don't follow dungeon Meshi discussions closely and also haven't seen much in depth analysis of the marginalization of halflings specifically but I feel like the Infantilization aspect is focused on without acknowledging the ways they are often also Dehumanized (little weird considering the usage of "human" in the context of the story but I think it fits well enough). Like they are considered unskilled and immature due to their appearance + shorter relative lifespans, but also they are considered shady, used as literal bait (for sirens and succubi), and fucking disappeared when they come into contact with dangerous artifacts. Like both are significantly negative, but one is a bit more Obviously Violent in a way that I feel like is under discussed.

I’ve always loved the idea that Peach is taller than average while Mario is shorter than average. 5’6” plumber falls in love with 6’0” princess. Then they meet 7’4” space princess, eventually. Mario and Daisy(5’5”) have short person get togethers where they plot to find out wtf the tall ones have been hiding on the top of shelves or cupboards.

Phases

Thinking about The Collector and I have a theory

I think his form isn’t permanent, but rather, like phases of the moon

And every time he gets stored away so he doesn’t have a physical form, it’s like a reset. Like, he doesn’t necessarily change as a person (personality-wise) but the form changes with a different phase on his face

I think this would explain the height in this scene

Since it was before they got put away

And I also think this could be a clue

Just the different circles representing the phases physically that The Collector goes through. For example, 

Before getting trapped ^

After escaping the orb (however that happened) ^

After escaping the orb in King’s Tide ^

Or something like that

I wonder if this also extends to power. So the one with The Collector in the hood is him at, say, his semi-strongest and the one in King’s Tide is him at his weakest. Or maybe the other way around, who knows

If he’s just immortal and keeps changing forms every time he gets put away, I wonder how long The Collector has been alive. How many phases have they gone through? And how many times?

And if this is all true, what do the other forms look like?

But first, the canon ones - the official video introducing Maria's figma ( x ) reveals that Maria (and the Doll, as follows) is 6'7'' (201 cm), whereas default Paleblood Hunter is 5'11'' (180 cm).

Then by stretching the image of ripped models ( x ) across the chart with the heights and comparing them to Maria, I concluded Micolash is 5'11'' (180 cm), Gascoigne is 7'2'' (218 cm) and Gehrman is ~7'7''-7'8'' (approximately 233 cm)! Now to the actual hcs! Centimeters scaling is approximate since inches do not convert into very round numbers.
