silva and kikyo zoldyck are not seeing any grandchildren EVER

im actually super interested in how marriage works within the Zoldyck family. we know(i think) that kikyo is from meteor city(maybe not i really don’t remember), so we could infer that her marriage to silva was out of love not business, but i really doubt that’s what’s their children were taught, especially since illumi literally tells hisoka they aren’t supposed to have relationships.

but with this, you would assume that any engagements of the zoldyck children would be orchestrated by their parents, and i can say pretty confidently that silva and kikyo would NOT approve of illumi’s engagement to hisoka(even if it was just for work). that then makes me wonder if illumi actually went against his parents to take the job, which then additionally calls into question if he really is only in this engagement for business(i don’t think he is).

but then again, who says the zoldyck parents even care if illumis engaged?? they might only be focused on the child they view as having the most potential, which is killua.

You pointed out "Yall need to be careful of bi erasure" and linked to a post someone made about me. I appreciate the heads up! To be honest, I’m not concerned about people suggesting that I’m doing bi erasure. Whether it’s regarding Pedro characters in canon, head canons, or bisexuality in any other way. But hey, everybody can have their opinion about things, including what they think about me.

I dont talk much about myself here, but my tumblr bio has said from day 1 that I’m a bi woman. My master list mentions most of my fic “is queer (m/m, bi4bi, m/m/f, non-binary and trans characters)”. Folks who have read my fic know I've written pairings where every character is explicitly bi ( Frankie x f!reader x Santi; Peña x Rockford x OFC; Ezra x f!reader x Benny Miller, and WIPs with Joel and Marcus M, Frankie x f!reader x OFC and Maximus x Acacius x Lucilla).

Can bisexual people still do bi erasure? Sure!

Do I worry whether straight folks or other random folks online think I'm involved in bi erasure? Nahhh.

Anyway, I did make some posts the other day based on anons submitted to me about issues re: queer representation in this fandom. Let me just direct you to the several posts I made on that day, which started in response to a question about Renaldo:

"Was Renaldo Gay in the SNL sketch?? I've seen a lot of blogs saying he wasn't?". TL;DR version of my response: the ending of the song states "word to the wise, if you've got wives, hide them from the three bros!" suggesting that Renaldo, Domingo, and Santiago all hook up with women/wives. Considering Renaldo hooked up with Matthew, that probably makes him bisexual (and not the fact that he had Sophie, aka Sabrina's character, dancing up on him) - or queer, or someone who doesn't like to label himself. However, while 'hide your wives' works linguistically as a great punch line to wrap up the song, it does not refer to Renaldo's affair with Matthew (now that is bi erasure, if you wanna be exact), so I did point out that 'hide your spouses' would've been more accurate - but understandably, that's not as catchy. I'm currently writing a Renaldo x Matthew one shot, and I said my headcanon has Renaldo as gay - but that's my interpretation/hc/fic.

Someone wrote to me: Some blogs in the fandom is hellbent on taking away any attention away from anything mlm based with his characters anyway so it wouldn't matter in Renaldo was gay - someone would find a loophole to make him like women. TL;DR I agreed, because there are people who definitely do that. It became part of a longer thread of reblogs with some other folks in which we talked about how Pedro's mlm (men loving men) characters, such as Oberyn, Dieter and Silva in particular, either tend to be canonized primarily as bisexual by people but in fic are almost always paired with women (f!reader or OFCs). Which is fine, but people are definitely interested in seeing more m/m representation for those characters. Someone also brought up that when Pedro characters are paired with non-binary reader inserts or OC, it tends to be mostly afab!nb (or afab!trans characters), and that they were surprised that there weren't more amab!nb characters - that's a great point too.

I made a post with an anon message that pointed out "MLM includes bi, pan and queer men. They might like women. (And/or other genders, but they still like men)". Very correct!

Finally, there was an excellent long message from an anon saying "We need more representation of bi people in same-gender relationships represented" and that even in threesomes or throuples (fic) that include two men, there should ideally be more mlm representation. Once again, I fully agree. Everybody should write whatever they want, but I do often see threesomes that are listed as Pedro Character 1 x reader x Pedro Character 2, but in the fic it's more like reader having sex with two straight men at the same time while they're trying to not cross swords, rather than mlm being represented. THIS IS DEFINITELY CHANGING THOUGH: it's wonderful to see a big increase of mlm characters in threesomes/throuple fics over the past year!

So here is my main issue with a lot of people who are raging about 'bi erasure', and why I've made several posts about queerness within this fandom (not just recently, but from the start). Of course bisexual people exist (hello, it me, for one). Pull up some statistics if you want: there are a lot more folks who identify as bisexual than there are folks who identify as gay or lesbian. I'm an older millenial, so if you wanna talk about bi erasure: the measure in which it happens today is nothing compared to the bi erasure and deeply engrained homophobia we experienced in our teens and twenties from society at large. However:

🏳‍🌈 In your rush to point out bisexuals exist, you're shutting down a much broader dialogue with people within the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳‍🌈

Because have you noticed how gay men, nonbinary/genderqueer fans, amab!trans or amab!nonbinary FANS (not fic characters; I'm talking actual people) are extremely underrepresented in this fandom? In addition to in fic? And that these fans won't have their fiction or actual posts shared all that much? Or that when they carefully speak up, e.g. about being happy to see Pedro portray Silva as a gay character, they're immediately rebuffed and called biphobic or that they're trying to erasure bisexuality?

Yeah. That part.

It's messed up.

Nobody is even making demands. Nobody is even saying "what writers are doing is wrong". They're just saying, "This is a bummer". And some of us are pointing out that mlm Pedro characters in m/m pairings are hard to come by, which is too bad because it's not only us queers who read m/m Pedro character pairings - there are lots of straight fans out there who have indicated they like reading that, too.

Are you gonna call that bi erasure? Or marginalization of women? Or anything really except for what it actually is? Fans are just saying "yknow, I wish there were more fans/fic characters/bodies in fic represented in this fandom that look and feel more like me". People seem to have finally understood that in varying degrees when this applies to body type or racial/cultural background (which took many white people a lot longer to fully grasp; BIPOC folks have been saying this for such a long time already) - it's about diversity and wanting to feel included. But when gay or transfolks say this about mlm, a whole bunch of y'all are crying bi erasure?

In short (and I can't believe I need to even fuckin' say this):

The Pedro fandom or its fic does NOT belong exclusively to women.

It does not belong to cis folks, to straight people, or any other particular group of people.

Aren't we all just trying to be a community? Then stop acting like people reading Silva or Renaldo (or any other character) as gay are erasing bisexuality - that's not the case or the damn point.

And anon-- my critique truly isn't directed at you, I'm not dragging you in any way. You took the effort to bring something to my attention, plus you clearly care about people, and I appreciate that a lot. But there are tons of people who don't dare to speak up about this in public settings, so I can't help but take this opportunity to not only clarify what I said earlier -- but also to address the bigger problem at large. Read or write all the gossip blogs you want, by all means, but maybe also consider using that time to actually connect with people.

“ Would you care to dance?”

How did this happen, you wondered as you stared at prince Nozel Silva. You had just wanted to come to the ball to see if it was truly amazing as everyone claimed, but your evil step-sisters decided to ruin your plan by destroying your outfit. You had been so upset and hurt that you had all but given up on your dream.

But then, a fairy godmother appeared. She told you she would help you achieve your dream of going to the ball as long as you returned home by midnight.

You had never agreed to something so fast!

After you had arrived at the castle, you did your best to stay in the shadows; just so that your step-sisters wouldn’t see you. But as you walked around you silently admired peoples gowns and suits, thinking about how lovely they were and how expensive they must’ve been, when suddenly you bumped right into someone.

“ Oh, I’m sorry!” You apologized quickly as you took a step back; but as your eyes traveled up you almost had a heart attack.

You had accidentally run into Prince Nozel Silva!

“ I asked if you would like to dance?” He repeated, his tone clearly annoyed. You blinked for a moment as you stared up at him.

“ Me?”

“ Yes, you. Do you see anyone else standing here?” He asked with a raised brow, his tone growing more annoyed by the moment.

“ No,” You replied softly, a nervous laugh escaping you. “ But, why’re you asking me?”

“ Simple; you’re the only person in this entire ballroom who hasn’t asked me to dance.” He explained simply, and you tilted your head.

Really? That was the reason?

As you gazed at his hand you could feel your heart pound in your chest, was this really a good idea? Dancing with the prince in front of everyone, including your step-sisters?

As you contemplated your choices, the prince sighed, grabbed your hand, and led you out to the ballroom.

“ H-Hey!” You exclaimed in surprise. His grip was firm, yet also gentle; you could easily pull your hand out of it and walk away, but you didn’t. It was as though you didn’t want to let go…

You frowned, why did you feel that way with a complete stranger?

As you both stood in the center of the dance floor you could feel everyone’s gazes upon you. Some stared at you in curiosity, some in confusion, and some in anger and jealousy.

“ Ignore them,” Nozel instructed as he pulled you close, holding your left hand in his right, and resting his left hand against your waist. “ They’re just jealous.”

“ Clearly.” You muttered with a narrow gaze, making him chuckle softly.

Oh how that chuckle made your heart skip a beat.

As the music started, as did you two. You and Nozel danced and spun around silently for a few moments, before he suddenly asked you a very odd question.

“ Are you a foreign noble or royal?” He asked, his tone low but curious. “ I’ve never seen you before.”

You hummed in thought.

“ Maybe, or maybe I’m just a quiet noble that lives in Clover’s countryside.” You replied, and he shook his head.

“ I know all of the nobles in Clover, including the ones that live in the countryside,” Nozel told her as his eyes narrowed. “ So if you were one of them I would clearly recognize you.”

“ Why? Because of my dazzling good looks and charms?” You asked jokingly, but that only made his eyes narrow more.

“ Because you’re odd.” He replied bluntly, making you feel like someone had just shot an arrow through your heart.

You…were odd? You frowned, was that supposed to be an insult or a compliment?

“ At first I thought you were an assassin sent here to kill me; with the way you were sneaking around in the shadows and all,” He began as he twirled you around. “ But after watching you for a while I could easily tell that you weren’t.”

“ You’ve been watching me?” You asked. “ So you’re a stalker?”

Nozel’s cheeks turned a light pink as he stared at you in disbelief.

“ Absolutely not!” He began, his voice low but full of shock. “ I was merely watching you because you were acting suspicious!”

You chuckled.

“ I was kidding, geez, do you always take things so seriously?” You questioned curiously, and his face grew even more red.

Nozel quickly cleared his throat.

“ Anyway, since you aren’t here to kill me then tell me; why were you hiding in the shadows and acting suspicious?”

You averted your gaze, your mind going back and forth on whether you should tell him the real reason you were hiding.

“ Personal reasons…” You explained softly, and you watched as his eyes turned curious.

“ ‘Personal reasons’…” He repeated softly. “ Let me guess; siblings?”

You blinked at him in surprise.

“ How did you-?”

“ Just a guess.” Nozel responded softly.

“ I take it you have problem siblings too?” You couldn’t help but ask curiously, and you saw a ghost of a smile appear on his lips before it disappeared.

“ You could say that,” He told you before tilting his head. “ Although my youngest sister is far from a problem, even though our relationship is a bit strained.”

You nodded slowly, completely understanding how it felt to have a strained relationship with siblings.

“ So, the reason you were trying to hide was so you could avoid your siblings?” He asked, and you nodded.

“ Why?”

“ Because…if they found out I was here they would get angry.” You admitted softly, your brows furrowing as you tried to understand why you were telling the prince these things.

He was a stranger, this wasn’t any of his business or concern, so why on earth were you telling him about your step-sisters?

“ Why would they be angry?” He asked in confusion, his brows furrowing. You laughed humorlessly and shook your head.

“ I don’t really know,” You admitted as your gaze drifted down to the floor. “ I guess…because they fear that I might take attention away from them.”

Nozel hummed in response as he slowly nodded his head.

“ Well, I can see why they would be afraid of that,” He began, his eyes staring at you. “ Because so far tonight, you have stolen everyone's attention, including mine.”

A soft gasp escaped you as you suddenly looked up at the prince. You…had stolen his attention?

“ If you have nowhere to be tonight, may I ask that we talk somewhere a bit more privately? Perhaps on the balcony? I would like to get to know you a bit more.” He asked, his face turning a bit pink and his gaze shifting away in shyness.

You felt your cheeks burn as well; he wanted to get to know more? For some odd reason…your heart fluttered.

“ I-.” You began before a loud bell began to chime, and as you turned to look at it your eyes widened.

It was midnight!

“ I’m sorry, but I have to go!” You apologized quickly as you let go of his hand and moved away from him.

“ Wait-!” Nozel called after you, but you had already disappeared into the crowd.

When he went to follow you he accidently kicked something with his foot; frowning, he slowly looked down to see what the item was.

a/n~ so sorry if this sucks cause ive never given a tutorial for my writing but i will DO MY BEST

so you said you wanted to write cute scenarios of dates for the hxh main four+ hisoka, silva , and kikyo! first thing i usually consider when i get requests especially, or just when i have an idea, is: would this character even do this? like if someone asks me, “hey, can you write headcanons for illumi zoldyck with a soft/sweet/kind s/o?” that would be possible (though maybe a little far-fetched canonically). it’s fine to stretch those boundaries a bit for fanfiction, i think. but if that request had instead been like “can you write reader x soft/sweet/kind illumi?” that would’ve been a hard no. don’t alter characters’ natural personalities because then it’s not the same character. what sometimes helps me is, especially if i haven’t watched or read any media of the character im writing for in a while, is looking up the character’s wiki on the FANDOM site and reading through their personality traits as well as their key moments because it helps me to determine what the character would do in the story and how they might react to some things. feel free to also go back and look at clips of the anime or pages of the manga; i find it helps as well!

so for what you want to write specifically, cute dating scenarios, i think that most of the characters you’ve chosen are a good fit. the main four are good for a prompt like that, and the zoldyck children you’ve chosen can be fitting as well. but as for hisoka, kikyo, and silva, that kind of prompt might not fit so well because obviously these characters can’t be seen as sweet or kind or loving. has hisoka ever expressed any interest in wooing someone properly or is he someone who operates on lust? did kikyo and silva court each other and go on little dates or was their marriage probably arranged/forced/only useful for selfish purposes? do their personalities even allow for sentiments like dates? would they even consider that? before writing something ask yourself if you can really see the character doing that clearly in your mind.

i think it’s a great thing that you’ve watched and read the respective canon content of your characters, and it’s good to refer to it if you ever find yourself struggling to characterize someone accurately. however, it is fanfiction, so don’t feel like you need to be super rigid. write whatever you’d like, honestly. but here’s a really common thing i notice when people write fanfiction: they take one aspect of the character and run the shit into the ground. a prime example of this is hobie brown from across the spiderverse and his “i don’t believe in consistency” line. like Jesus Christ. well-written fictional characters, like the ones of hxh, are often as versatile as real people are. make sure the character doesn’t feel like some one-dimensional version of themselves, and please don’t write for the character only based on one aspect of their personality. for example, hisoka is rather unpredictable, so that’s something you’d probably want to incorporate into writings for him. but for characters like most of the zoldycks, you’re going to want to tread a little lighter since they aren’t the main characters and thus we don’t see a whole lot of them. in situations like this, you might have to focus on just what you can see of them. so again, just ask yourself if you can see the character really doing what you’re writing them to do. would they act that way in an actual episode of the anime or volume of the manga? if you’re unsure or the answer is no, try going a different route.

it is also okay to make mistakes. practicing a lot will eventually get you to where you want to be. i still find myself slipping up in my writings and getting carried away (so read over your writings before you publish them)!! my dms are open if you ever would like me personally to review a piece and offer maybe more specific advice!

Goodness, this is hard! I have a reason why I love all of them but I'll try to pick 5:

Meet the Millers, a The Last of Us/Triple Frontier Crossover (Benny Miller, Joel Miller, Will Miller x f!reader). This one here was supposed to be a simple one shot but I blacked out and woke up 2 weeks later to 41k words. And I had ideas that didn't fit so now I'm adding more to it. It blows my mind because I wrote it only like 2.5 months after I started writing.

Light Me Up (Benny Miller x f!reader "Sparks") This is the 2nd chapter fic I started writing, the month after I actually started writing. This is the fic that made me fall for Benny and never look back.

Sacrifice, a choose your own pain ask fic (Benny Miller). This was an ask, but I had a few different ideas on how it could end but couldn't pick so I wrote them all. The angst and pain in this made me tear up while writing it and I'm actually pretty proud of it.

The Detective and the Thief (Detective Tim Rockford x The Thief x f! reader). The commercial for that phone video game came out and I word vomited this into a Google doc and spit it out 5 hours later. I have no idea how. And the twist in this caught even me by surprise!

Light Through the Dark (Pero Tovar x f!reader) I wrote this "ask" as part of my 100 followers celebration back in the day. I was able to weave things from the movie into this, but also starting out with angst/whump was very new to me. I actually had more planned but thought it would be "too long". Little did I know that would be my thing lol So I actually want to continue this if anyone is interested!

I'll Always Wait For You (Frankie Morales x f!reader "Hermosa"). They are my babies, the first chapter fic I ever wrote. They've been through so much and I miss them terribly.

I haven't read every fic out there and there are notably a few fics I know I'm going to love but haven't started yet. I think I'll update the post regularly.

The fics on this post are fics I enjoyed and remember having read. considering how many things I forget on a daily basis, it means a lot.

I have my favorite characters, tropes, and themes and this will definitely show.

I'm attempting to organize the fics in categories but ofc some shippy fics also have feels or are angsty or are fluffy, same for the AUs... An attempt is made to organize them based on the vibes I remember (I’ve read some of those literal years ago).

as she stepped out on the streets of grosvenor square, her immediate touch brought radiance to the place. no, she was not a smiling fool nor was she greeting everyone. it was not that type of radiance. she hated that. yet, one can argue the opposite when she finally arrived at the bridgerton's house.

just had this convo with a moot earlier so may as well put my yaps here - can the phantom troupe use math? chrollo -yes, he's read extensively about it. -he's more passionate about the theoretical aspects of it than the practical ones, but he still uses it practically

nobunaga -he can do basic algebra and he understands working with fractions, etc. but as soon as exponential functions come into the picture, he's done

machi -girl math legend -she always bashes on it like "ew math i hate numbers" but she's surprisingly quick with crunching numbers in her head -she's humble about it though

feitan -he used to be better with it when he was studying it (it was his hyperfixation) -he's gotten rusty as he's used it less and less -used to recite pi when he was anxious - got up to 300 digits

franklin -nobody thinks he can because they never ask -he very much can use math -works better with numbers, geometry is harder

phinks -he's got the right ideas, but when trying to explain his process to other people, he's a mansplainer -likes to research statistics and always mixes up correlation with causation -likes to think he's good at statistics but if you mention p-value, his response will be "whats that?"

shizuku -she's SO GOOD at math when she's NOT THINKING ABOUT THE PROCESS BEHIND SOLVING PROBLEMS -the second she tries to concentrate on the math, she forgets it all. it all goes out the window. she'll need to forget what she was doing to reset

pakunoda -she's good! she functions and she uses it in her daily life -she could actually be INCREDIBLE if she applied herself and learned, but why should she care?

kortopi -he's got it down, but good luck getting an answer out of him. -he doesn't talk

shalnark -hands down the best out of the troupe -trigonometry, physics, abstract algebra and geometry, non-Euclidian geometry, he's got it ALL down -he's never studied ANY of it, he just thinks about numbers before he goes to bed, and he comes up with all of it on his own, and he's RIGHT -he's probably invented NEW FIELDS, but he keeps them to himself because he doesn't realize he came up with them, he thinks it's all just common sense

uvogin -the opposite of shalnark, to say it nicely -watches shalnark break down mathematical answers to the universe, and gets hung up on how it's possible that shalnark divided a small number by a bigger number -he needs a calculator to do simple equations. he needs someone to remind him what all the buttons do - "machi, what's this x button do? oh... multiplication? what's that again?"

illumi -very skilled with math because it was part of his schooling growing up - zoldycks are expected to be experts in every subject -he never uses them

kalluto -he's got it for his age, but it's only elementary math so -gotoh is his tutor, and he has homework. silva has to help him with the homework. cue kalluto sobbing and dripping tears all over the homework sheet as silva screams "IF 5 PLUS 4 IS 9, THEN WHAT IS 9 MINUS 5? WHAT IS IT?"

hisoka -people don't expect him to be good at math. he does use it as a party trick -it makes him better at sleight-of-hand card tricks

I believe that he can do math simply because he doesn't seem like he can do math. He's more "party tricks and shock value" than "genuine human person" and i think that seeing him solving equations for fun would send someone into cardiac arrest instantly

He could do math, but it's not super relevant to his everyday life so he usually doesn't bother. literally just get a calculator it's not that serious. there are way more useful skills to have. like invulnerability to every poison.

Can do math in practice but not in theory. Like he could probably do some pretty sophisticated calculations in his head mid-battle to figure out the trajectory of his opponent's attack based on the initial velocity and the angle the projectile was fired at (of course taking weather and other external conditions into account), but wouldn't be able to complete a timed multiplication worksheet for children
