bed sharing - @wolfstarmicrofic - 657 words
“I am not sharing a single bed with you.”
“Sirius, it’s just one night,” Remus said crabbily.
Sirius gave Remus a withering look at his brazen dismissal of Sirius’s suffering.
It was a replay of an argument they’d been having for the last three days over Harry’s 30th birthday. He and Cedric had a large house, but an even larger group of friends, and the sleeping arrangements were becoming limited.
“And I’d like to get some sleep during it! And so would you, I’m sure,” Sirius added. “And you’re much crabbier than I am when you’re tired.”
Remus raised a deeply sardonic eyebrow, but Sirius was undeterred.
“I’m taking the other guest room,” he insisted.
“There are other guests. We cannot take two rooms!”
“We bloody well can when we’re two six foot adults being asked to squeeze into a kid’s bed!”
Remus sighed in impatience. “We’re making Harry’s life difficult. Where is everyone else supposed to sleep?”
“Harry doesn’t mind!” Sirius replied, his voice raising in line with his frustration. “They’ve added a room on the top floor for Andromeda and Ted, and if another Weasley shows up they’ll camp out in the living room.”
Remus made an aggravated noise in the back of his throat, turning away as he sensed the argument lost and yet not settled at all.
“Why are you so worked up about this?” Sirius demanded.”
“Because they’ll think that we have problems!” Remus shouted, whipping back round. Sirius balked slightly in surprise. “Sleeping in separate bedrooms! Coming up with excuses!”
“Moony…” Sirius began, suddenly softer now, trying to wrap his head around Remus’s words. “Who’s…? No one will care.”
“Oh, you don’t think Molly won’t make a comment? Or perhaps Andromeda?”
Remus could feel all logic slipping away from him, but the confusing mess of feelings bubbling away needed to overflow and this was the only place ever safe for that.
“I don’t want to be any different from anyone else. I don’t want people to think that we don’t… that we’re not…”
“That we don’t fuck?” Sirius said, goading him deliberately until he fell over the edge.
“Yes!” Remus shouted. “Or that we don’t love each other! Or share each other’s bed! Or cuddle, or you read me something from your book, or I snore too loudly when we’ve had wine, or we argue about the heating charms or anything else other married couples do!”
“I don’t think anyone snores as loudly as you, Moony,” Sirius smirked.
“Oh fuck off,” Remus snapped, waving his hand so angrily that a few books toppled off the nearest bookcase. Sirius sent them back with a quick flick of his fingers, then walked slowly over to where Remus was standing, fuming by the fireplace.
“You’ll never be able to prove to them what you think you need to prove,” Sirius said gently, resting his hands on Remus’s arms, one thumb rubbing soothingly into the crook of his elbow. “It’s our life, Moony. Doesn’t matter whether they think it’s good enough or not. It’s ours.”
Remus sighed, then leant forward until his forehead was pressed in Sirius’s shoulder.
“I know,” he mumbled. “Sorry for… I don’t know.”
“S’okay. It - it gets to me too, still,” Sirius admitted, wrapping his arms around Remus’s waist.
They stood there silently for a long moment, holding each other.
“I’ll transfigure the room so it fits a king bed, alright?” Sirius said quietly. “Harry won’t mind if I prod at the walls a bit.”
“You don’t have to—” Remus began, looking up at him.
“It’s not because of what Molly and Andromeda might think,” Sirius said firmly. “I’d just rather be with you when you’re feeling like this. And, you know…” His face spread into a teasing smile. “I like how you are when I’ve been wearing those tight jeans all day.”
“You’re not…”
“Oh, I absolutely am,” Sirius said smugly. “See how much anyone doubts that we fuck then.”

Tumblr media
"Sirius Orion Black and Remus John Lupin!"
Sirius could feel his soul practically leave his body as he saw you, in your ever angry form, march to where he is handing your year old daughter to Remus' awaiting arms.
This is it, this is how Sirius thinks he’s going to leave the face of the Earth.
"Erm, I have to go! See you next week yeah?" Sirius clambers onto his motorcycle, praying to any deity that he would fly faster than you hexing him with your wandless magic.
"Bye pah foo!" Lyra grins, her four teeth in clear display as Sirius looked back and waved, "See you soon, baby moony! Have to go before mummy hexes me to no end!"
Remus watched his friend blankly, deep down wishing he too was in the back of the motorcycle with Lyra so he could escape the imminent wrath his wife that was to rain down on him.
“Remus. John. Lupin.”
Each word you uttered was like a nail on his coffin. He tried his best not to wince as he heard how utterly cold and sharp you spat his name out. So, gathering up his remaining courage, he faced you with a smile- and he definitely didn’t place your squealing baby girl in front of him, making her somewhat his shield. He hoped the cuteness of Lyra would soften the blow quite a bit.
“Hi, darling! You’re back early- “
“Tell me I did just not see our one-year-old baby land in front of our house riding Sirius’ flying motorcycle or so merlin help me I will strangle you.” You warned, taking Lyra from his hands, who happily snuggled in your arms.
Well, shit.
There goes his only chance of living.
He offered a wry smile, ignoring how sweaty his hands had become. “Alrighty, I won’t tell you- “
“Remus! You seriously thought it was a good idea to let our child ride a flying motorcycle? She just turned a year-old last week for Merlin’s sake!” You scolded, poor Remus. Call him a seer because he can already see himself sleeping on the couch for the entire week, a few days if he’s lucky.
“Darling, Sirius and I made sure it was completely safe.” He tried to explain, “Lyra doesn’t even have a helmet! What were you guys thinking?!” You hugged your baby closer to your chest.
“Well, Padfoot said it’s unnecessary since they’re technically flying.” You scoffed in disbelief as you comforted Lyra who started to fuss. “Remind me to make Sirius fall next time I set his eyes on him on that darn vehicle of his.”
Remus could only let out a nervous chuckle. "Erm, I will."
“Why was Padfoot even here the first place?” You raised an eyebrow, going back inside the house to place Lyra in her playpen as Remus followed you like a servant who’s trying to regain your favor. “He also took Harry out for a ride. After that, he went here and told me Lyra should also experience it.”
You turned around and faced him, a hand on your hips. “I’m guessing Lily isn’t aware- because there is no way in her right mind that she would let her two-year-old son ride a flying motorcycle.”
His silence was the only thing you needed to hear from him.
“Where even were you when he took Lyra out for a ride?”
He blinks stupidly, “Outside, watching them.”
“You better choose your next words carefully Lupin.”
“I was supposed to ride with them, darling! But Sirius already took off when I was about to get onto the motorcycle!” He explains, hoping it’ll be enough to save him as he recalled the events from earlier.
“Pah foo!” Lyra grinned as she clapped her hands excitedly, her sandy brown hair that was tied in pigtails was swaying with every move she made. Sirius returned her excitement, bypassing Remus who answered the door and made a beeline to the squealing baby.
“There’s my baby Moony!” He lifts Lyra up from her playpen and peppers her face with kisses while Remus smiled, rolling his eyes playfully. “I’m starting to think you’re just visiting so you can hang out with my daughter, Padfoot.”
Sirius turned to look at him, smiling playfully as Lyra tugged on his curls. “I’m afraid so, Moony.” He then turned his attention to the child. “Now, who wants to go on an adventure with uncle Padfoot?”
Sirius’s eyes twinkled with mischief as he held Lyra aloft, her giggles filling the room. “We’ll soar over the treetops, chase the clouds, and maybe even race a few owls, eh?” He bounced her gently, eliciting more delighted squeals.
Remus watched them, a fond smile on his face, thinking that his best mate wouldn’t seriously do it. “Just make sure you keep her within sight, Padfoot. No loops or dives,” he added with a mock sternness that fooled neither Sirius nor Lyra.
Sirius mock saluted. “Aye, aye, Captain Moony!” He turned to Lyra, whispering conspiratorially, “Your dad’s just worried we’ll have too much fun without him.”
Remus didn’t even know how it happened, he just suddenly became aware of the situation when Sirius and Lyra were off, the flying motorcycle roaring to life as they took to the skies, leaving a trail of laughter, the faint smell of engine oil in their wake, and a faint ‘I fly, dada!’ from Lyra.
You sighed, effectively pulling him out of his thoughts. “At least Lyra’s safe, I know Sirius wouldn’t endanger his god daughter.”
You watched as Remus’s eyes softened; the worry lines smoothed out from his forehead. “Yes, Lyra is safe, and Sirius might be reckless, but he’s also fiercely protective,” he agreed, his voice carrying a note of gratitude. You hummed in agreement.
Remus tested the waters, “So… I won’t be sleeping in the couch, right?”
You couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle, the tension from earlier dissipating like morning fog in the sunlight. “No, Remmy, you won’t be sleeping on the couch,” you said, your voice laced with a hint of amusement. “But let’s agree that any future flights require both parents’ approval, alright?”
Remus let out a sigh of relief, his shoulders visibly relaxing. “Agreed, and I promise, no more surprises,” he said earnestly, reaching out to take your hand.
Just then, Lyra’s babbling caught your attention, and you both turned to see her playing with a small, plush fox, looking eerily similar to your animagus form that Sirius must have sneaked into her playpen.
“Maybe we can’t protect her from everything, but we can make sure she knows she’s loved and safe,” you mused aloud, watching Lyra.
Remus nodded, his eyes reflecting the same sentiment. “That’s all we can do,” he agreed. “And maybe teach her a few tricks so she can outfly Sirius one day,” he added with a wink.
You glared at him playfully, then laughed, imagining a future where Lyra, with her inherited Marauder’s cunning, would indeed give Sirius a run for his money. “Now that’s a plan I can get behind,” you said with a smile.
As the night drew on, the house filled with the soft sounds of a family at peace. The day’s adventures were recounted with laughter and gentle teasing, and plans for a grounded tomorrow were made. And in that moment, all was well in the world of magic and mischief.

“Did you mean it?” You ask in a soft voice as Remus swivels in his tech chair to pay you his full attention, one brow raising up at the sight of your fingers gently pinching your ear lobes.
“Did I mean what, dove?” He asks in his usual warm tone, tilting his head back to stare up at you from his seat.
“That I would look cute with ear piercings…”
Remus laughs because how cute can you get? Especially with that curious look in your doe eyes. Reaching out his big hands, he pulls you onto his thigh and holds you close, staring down with his loving brown eyes to reassure you of any insecurities he suspects might arise.
Somehow, Remus always knew what path your thoughts could potentially take. You felt like an open book to him, cradled in his large hands, stable and loving; ready to explore your pages with the simple intent to understand you further, as he’s already done with the few pages you’ve allowed him to read in your past. To you, Remus is safety, comfort and boundless warmth, not from the sun but from a thick blanket, reassuring and all encompassing, devoted to only keeping you warm — safe, happy and secure.
“Yes, I meant it,” Remus whispers as he fixes the collar of your shirt, ever the habitual perfectionist, “why?” His gaze lifts and you’re lost in his honey-chocolate pools once more, “are you thinking of getting your ears pierced?” you don’t know if the lilt in his tone is to tease or a growing excitement for your potential inclination — he may have the honour of giving you your first piercing.
“Maybe…” he can tell from the slight hesitancy in your diction that you weren’t 100% sold on the idea, which brings about his own worries.
“You don’t need a piercing to be cute you know,” Remus mutters the sentiment into your temple before pressing a kiss into your skin, “you’re plenty cute as is…”
“It’s not that,” the shaky breath you exhale is all too familiar to the brunette and he instantly knows your exact reasoning, he still lets you speak the words yourself, however, somewhat enjoying the show you unintentionally play out before him. It’s another cute display, one that rivals whenever he sees you eating something delicious, and can’t control your expression or when you get excited over something and hop in place while doing tiny claps, “I’m still kinda scared of needles…”
The shame that crosses your face tugs at Remus’s heart and he puts a stop to it immediately. Holding your chin between his pointer finger and thumb he directs your stare to meet his own, “don’t feel ashamed of that, sweetheart. Being afraid is normal and, in some instances, keeps people alive and safe. It’s unfortunate but fear led you to the boys and me,” he hates to remind you of that fateful night but— “and now I don’t think we can live without you,” the two of you share a laugh at that.
The boys were truly grateful to you for many things. You may not know it but whenever angry, sad or stressed all they had to do was look at you, see your smiling face, hear your twinkling laugh and bask in the brightness you exude just to feel right again. You bring about an equilibrium that they are so often tipped off of, never totally right or sane when you are gone too long.
“I—…I still don’t know,”
“Try this,” Remus leans back to pose his hypothetical, “forget the needle and the pain, would you still like to wear earrings?” your enthusiastic nod is answer enough, “then…—“ from the corner of his eye, Sirius walks past the doorway and Remus calls for him.
“How may I help you and our princess, Moony?” Sirius asks with a practised smiling voice as he shoots you a wink.
“Do you mind fetching the earring jewellery samples?” Sirius raises a brow but asks no questions and nods before disappearing again. While he’s gone, you stare up at Remus, who doesn’t say a word but smiles and lovingly tucks a stray hair behind your ear. Not long after, Sirius returns with a small set of samples in a rectangular wooden box, lined with red velvet and showcasing a small but beautiful variety of jewellery.
“Aren’t they beautiful?”
“They’re very beautiful, Rem,” you reply, awing at their delicate designs and sparkling appearance.
“Pick a favourite pair,” he prompts and without hesitation, you pick the two that immediately caught your eye.
“Great choice, doll,” Sirius praises as Remus hands back the sample set and gives him a look, communicating his next steps. There was no debate and Sirius accepted everything without any questions, “we’ll reserve them for you,” Sirius smiles softly and quickly leaves to do just that before you can utter any word of protest.
“Tell us when you’re ready, and we’ll make it happen so that you’re as comfortable as can be throughout,”
Tumblr media
Every time you visit the boys at their tattoo studio, they let you have the reserved piercings to look over and contemplate your decision with. They were perfectly happy to wait however long you needed and never pushed you towards a decision, they even expressed that it was perfectly okay for you to change your mind and withdraw from the idea altogether.
“You know,” James pipes up with a mouthful of food that Remus quickly reprimands him for, “you don’t need to get a piercing to wear earrings,”
“That’s right, there are other alternatives out there, dollface,” Sirius adds, licking his lips with a content smile, always a lover for your cooking, “you can wear clip on earrings instead,”
You appreciate their concern and thoughtfulness but you still want to get a piercing. It felt like a right of passage for all girls and you wanted to be a part of it, clip-ons didn't feel the same and you wanted to be able to pair your earrings with an outfit like some of your friends do. Shaking your head with a polite smile, you turn to Remus, “You’ll be doing my piercing, right, Rem?”
“That’s right, dove,”
Timidly, you meet his kind eyes, “will you be able to hold me when you do it?” Your shy statement was all they needed to realise what was holding you back. They felt so stupid for not realising it sooner but, thankfully, they knew how to help you now.
“I’m afraid not, sweetheart,” Remus coos softly at your disappointed expression but James and Sirius don’t let you wear it for long.
“But Prongs and I can hold you for as long as you need, doll!” Sirius smiles as James grins toothily beside him.
“Just take your pick on whose lap you think will be more comfortable!” James laughs with Sirius as he throws his arm over his friend’s shoulders.
“In that case,” you turn towards Remus with a smile once more, “when is the next available time I can set up an appointment?”
Tumblr media
It was in the afternoon when you found yourself seated on Sirius’s lap as Remus prepared to pierce your ears. James, to his dismay, had an appointment for a tattoo so Sirius won lap rights by default, which he was all too proud to have won.
In preparation for the piercings, Sirius helped tie your hair up so that your ears were free of their awning, he did this while Remus prepared his tools, put on his gloves and got started on a small aftercare kit for you to take home — as was customary of their studio to provide for all their customers. With Sirius’s arms comfortingly wrapped around your waist, he pressed you close so that you could feel the heat from his chest against your back and allowed him access to your neck, where he placed a soft kiss.
After a while, Remus walks over with a soft look on his face and a sanitising wipe in a gloved hand, “you two look cosy,” he comments while gently cleansing your lobes with the wipe and throwing it away in a nearby bin.
“Our princess deserves it,” Sirius comments, his hot breath tickling your neck and making you giggle as Remus agrees.
“That she does,” leaning back, the tall brunette sits in his tech chair and pulls up a small handheld mirror and pen, “now, dove, I need you to tell me where you want your piercing. Do you want it a little higher? Right in the middle or a little lower, here?” In the mirror he holds in front of you, you see him point out where the potential piercing can go with the tip of his pen, “I want to do it perfectly for you,” he smiles warmly behind the mirror, which carries in his voice — soft and sweet.
“And if you want more piercings in the future, you can make room for them now,” Sirius adds from behind you.
“I want it right in the middle please, Rem,”
“Of course,” he nods and places the markings softly onto your lobe before holding up the mirror again for your final approval.
“W-won’t the pen make the sanitising pointless,” you comment, shy of your scrutiny; Remus was the expert, afterall.
“Don’t worry, dove,” he kisses your forehead before holding up the capped pen, “this is a surgical skin marker and it’s used in surgeries to mark out incision lines,” your apprehended by his gentle tone and warm voice, calming your heart that had slowly begun to race with anticipation, “the ink is made of gentian violet, which has antifungal properties so it won’t affect the sterility of the marked area,”
When you nod in understanding, Remus kisses your forehead once more and goes to store away the pen before finally getting started on your piercing.
“It’ll be okay, sweetheart,” Sirius whispers into your hair when he hears the unsteady shake in your breaths — Remus had just sat down across from you in his tech chair with a needle in hand and a small stopper in the other.
“Look away, darling… close your eyes,” Remus prompts when he sees your breathing pick up at the sight of the needle in his hand. He is completely ignored and nods at the tattooist behind you, “Sirius, can you help our angel?”
You feel Sirius kiss your temple as his arms give you a small squeeze. His weight, warmth and smell surrounds your senses and the boys helpfully guide your breathing until you are finally able to relax. The tension leaves your body and you finally close your eyes, apologising for your small episode.
“You have nothing to be sorry for, dove,” Remus whispers softly in front of you, “but I’m gonna have to ask you to take a deep breath for me,” you do as he says, breathing deep and slow, “good girl…”
There’s a small pinch in your right lobe that quickly dulls into numbness before Remus secures something behind it and a lingering weight is left. You feel Sirius kiss the slope of your shoulder, muttering soft praises as he does so. There’s some shuffling before you feel Remus take his place before you again.
“One more time, dove, take a deep breath…” he gently commands as you easily follow. There’s another small pinch but in your left lobe this time. Again, Remus secures something behind it and as the numbness lingers so does an added weight.
Your eyes flutter open just as Remus presses a kiss onto your forehead, “you were such a good girl for me,” he praises, smiling and then holds up a mirror for you to admire the delicate earrings decorating your ears with a bright smile, “it suits you, darling,”
“You just keep getting prettier,” Sirius chuckles and squeezes you in his arms once more, ”well done, princess,”

Everyone Dreams of Going to Hogwarts
Every fan of Harry Potter has indulged in the fantasy of waiting for an Owl to deliver the fateful letter that will declare your future as a witch or wizard at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry. Every one of us old or young had dreamed of riding the train at Kings Cross Station, taking the boats across the black lake and seeing the castle for the first time, of having dinner in the great hall, of finally figuring out where you belong in the world and it just feeling right. They fantasize about seeing their common room for the first time finally feeling that warm sense of belonging and meeting the friends that you will keep for the rest of your life. Every single one of us had fantasized about meeting our professors, exploring the grounds and discovering our latent potential. It’s a comfort for many of us and happy place to go in our minds to escape reality.
For the witches and wizards of the Wizarding World that childhood fantasy is their reality. They too wait with bated breath for their letters. They too fantasize about finally feeling that “at home” feeling, the feeling that you finally belong to something bigger and more wonderful than their wildest dreams. The chance to prove themselves. The chance to start over for many, the chance to leave their sometimes abusive homes for a place that finally actually feels like home to them. Harry was one of those people. Dumbledore was one of those people. Hermione, Ron and even Neville all find this sense of belonging sooner or later. They all find their forever home at Hogwarts the way we all dream.
Now imagine being Seveurs Snape.
You live in a house with a father that doesn’t understand you and screams and yells at you and your mother on a daily basis and you feel so alone in the world. You have one peer who appreciates in you the magic that allows you to rise above the squaller and cruelty in which you live. You have one friend who sees you for who you are and appreciates that about you truly, while being forced to inhabit a world that not only doesn’t understand you but is actually often openly hostile to you. Hogwarts, you beleive, will be your escape from this hell, and best of all you get to take this wonderful friend with you. You are being whisked away to a fairy tale castle where dreams come true and you will finally feel safe and finally feel a real sense of home. You stay up all night all week waiting by the door in the early morning for the letter that is finally going to change your life. You pour over it with your best friend, going over every aspect of this incredible opportunity in your mind over and over. You’re planning how you’ll make the most of it. You finally let yourself look forward to something, to open your heart to something, to dream of something. Your greatest hearts desire to this moment is finally coming true.
Then you get on the train.
And the hell begins before the first day has ever even started. Your friend is angry at you for something entirely out of your control, and even though you make up destiny has deigned that on this day you will meet the person that will destroy any hope you ever entertained of Hogwarts being a home at all. His name is James Potter. His partners in the crimes which will forever change your life are Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black. From the moment you meet you are ridiculed by them, physically abused by them, and the worst part is from this day forward it is never going to end.
Your best friend is put not just in a different house but in the house that hates your house the most, and from this day forward you will forever have a strain on the only true friendship you’ve ever had. From this day forward you will have to meet them either in secret or at least in private to avoid angering both your houses at best and facing ridicule at worst. The moments you stole with this friend in the muggle hell will ironically be the only moments of peace you’ll truly have with them. Not only that, but they are sorted into the same house that 4 of your worst tormentors reside in.
But it’s even worse. Because although at home you can escape form your father and potential school bullies by hiding yourself away in some nook or cranny, making yourself scarce, staying out late at night in the woods or just being as quiet as possible; you will never be able to escape the torment that now awaits every day. You have classes with them, you run into them, you see them trying to take away the only friend you have every day. And it doesn’t even end there, now they have a tracking device that you don’t know about, but somehow they manage to find you no matter where you hide. No matter where you go they are somehow always there. No matter who you talk to, they all act like you’re crazy. Because none of the other professors or students know about the marauders map they find you strange for jumping at every blow of the wind. Because they don’t know about the map they don’t believe you at all when you try to explain that somehow James Potter and his gang seem to pop up conveniently every single place you go to hide and they even blame you for trying to figure out how to protect yourself. They tell you you’re bringing it on yourself for being too weird or too jumpy or too nosy. Even your best friend in the world is starting to doubt you. You feel like you’re going insane.
So you try to have your tormentors expelled. You try so hard to figure out something, anything that will end the days on end of suffering and abuse. But you’re the weird kid. You’re the ugly kid. You’re the emo goth kid. Nobody gives a shit about you and you know it. You know you’re on your own. You’re a half blood, so the the people in your house who were supposed to have your back ignore you at best and tease you about it at worst for letting Gryffindor students get the best of you. Any hope you had of Hogwarts being your home has been destroyed.
So you try to follow James and The Gang around. Yes everyone sees you as creepy for this, becusse you don’t have a map that magically tells you where they will be at all times. You have to go about it the old fashioned way. You hide behind bushes, you peak around corners. Yes everyone finds you creepy now on top of everything else, but it’ll be worth it if you can finally enjoy what was promised to you at age 11, a home. You’ll finally be able to breathe.
But no. Instead what happens is your tormentors figure out that you know that they are putting the lives of students in danger by wandering the grounds with a werewolf against the wishes of the headmaster. You know that if you can just prove it that the torment will be over, but what you don’t know is that they are one step ahead of you, and for the unimaginable crime of trying to thwart them; they are going to plan to inflict a dangerous illness of lycanthropy on you at best, maul you to death at worst. You are close to both your proof and your death when one of them gets cold feet at the last minute and decides he doesn’t in fact want to go to prison.
You think “maybe it’s finally over now”, “maybe everyone will see now that they are cruel, that this is what they’re really like”, “maybe I’ll finally get a moment of peace, maybe Dumbledore and Lily will finally beleive me”. But no. Of course not. Because remember, you’re the weird emo Slytherin kid and your life is secondary. It always has been. Dumbledore swears you to secrecy to protect one of your tormentors, so you get no justice for the attempt on your life. Because Dumbledore had forbidden you to speak about your traumatic experience of almost being murdered, your best friend doesn’t beleive you at all and instead blames you for sneaking around. They don’t even give you the chance to defend or explain yourself. Instead you’re made out to be the creepy bad guy who wants to destroy the Potter Gang out of jealously.
Worst of all you secretly suspect that your best friend has a thing for the person who makes your life a living hell every single day. You see the stolen glances and the way they look at each other, the way she is never totally on your side. You tell yourself that this is all in your head, that Lily would never betray you that way. That all the hours you spent dreaming of Hogwarts together will mean more than a crush. But oh, sadly you are very wrong there too.
Not even a few months after attempting to take your life your abusers are back at again. Remorseless as ever they hunt you down like dogs and follow your every footstep. You haven’t a moment of peace even to do your normal school work. The only place you are safe is your common room, and even then you can’t let your guard down.
Then one day it happens.
The little pieces of happiness that you’ve managed to tuck away from yourself are cruelly ripped away. They manage to find you again. The torment us as usual. They all gang up on you, each taking a go for their own amusement. They fling you on your back, force you to vomit, force you to listen to their emotional abuse while they make a go at hitting on your best friend, and the torment does not end there. Now they are picking you up off the ground and taking off your clothes. Now on top of every other humiliation they have amused themselves by sexually humiliating you in front of everyone in your class including your closest ally. Every part of you is on fire inside and out and the depth of horror and hurt inside you is so big you don’t know what to do with the feeling. Then your friend finally steps in. But now you’re so hurt and angry that it’s bursting out of you in the worst possible ways.
Now the worst thing finally happens.
You call your best friend a slur; something you know will hurt them more than any other thing, because you’re destroyed, because you’re angry at them for letting it get this far, because you’re humiliated and because you’re tired of not being held in a higher regard than the person who has ruined your life; because you’re sick of their moralizing and their pitty.
Now you’ve lost the only person you’ve ever really felt close to. Now you’ve lost any human sympathy forever.
And it’s not over yet. Now you’re upside down again. And this time they aren’t content with exposing the rest of your body for the world to see. Now they are out for blood, and the revenge they have settled on is Sexual Assault. They remove your underwear to expose your most private parts to the world and there is nothing you can do about it. Nowhere you can go. No one who cares. No one who will come to your rescue.
Snape must have felt so hopeless it’s a wonder he didn’t try to end his life. People have done so over much less.
Hogwarts was never truly a home for Severus Snape. Even in adulthood he works in the place that was the site of innumerable traumas and heartaches. Everyday he faces trigger after trigger of the worst day of his life, while protecting the progeny of the only person he ever felt close to and the person who cruelly ripped away any chance he had at normal life. This is why I feel for Severus Snape so much in every scene. He is confronted every day with the worst memories a person can endure yet he chooses to be brave anyway. He chooses to do the right thing anyway. He puts other people’s well-being first anyway. He chooses the side of the light beyond all that had conspired to make a sociopath out of him. He holds a place in his heart for love and he protects that love with his entire being. Platonic love is just as powerful as romantic love and Severus Snape is the perfect example of this. A person even in the worst circumstances can still make the most difference in the world, can still choose to be their own person and make their own choices. Even when the world is wholly against him, Severus Snape is the pinnacle of integrity.
This is why he’s my favorite character. He’s the bravest character in the narrative, but he’s also the character with the most integrity.

Almost kiss (May 13th)
word count: 707
@wolfstarmicrofic
Sirius is so angry he’s going to explode. He wants to break something but he’s sitting on his bed and there’s nothing to break. “What do you mean?”
Sirius can tell that Remus is also angry. His skin is blotchy and he’s pacing around their dorm room. “I mean, there is so way in hell I’m going to risk any of you getting hurt.”
“But there is no risk!” Sirius wants to hold Remus by the shoulders and shake some sense into him. “Why won’t you let us help you?”
“Because you don’t know that there is no risk!” Remus screams. “Who decided that an animagus is werewolf bite immune, again?”
“Mcgonagall said–”
“Everything McGonagall said is theoretical. And I’m sure she'd agree with me if she knew why you were asking her in the first place. There is no real-life proof or evidence or–”
“Remus, listen to me,” Sirius says, trying to keep his voice level. He stands up and crowds Remus’ personal space because he wants Remus to listen to him. He puts his hand on Remus’ shoulder, and Remus holds his gaze. “Animals can’t be werewolves. It’s safe. Lycanthropy only affects humans and how lucky are we? That’s–”
“Don’t patronize me!”
“I’m not,” Sirius says. He tries again, “I’m sorry. Remus, we want to do this for you.”
Remus lets out a shaky breath. “Sirius, I truly appreciate it. I know I’m being harsh but this is the nicest thing someone’s ever done to me, and I love you all so much. It’s incredible. I can’t even express how grateful I am that you thought of something like this.”
Sirius shakes his head. He thinks it’s because they’re standing so close but he can’t scream anymore no matter how much he wants to. Instead, he whispers, “Don’t talk like that. This isn’t a favor.”
“I won’t hurt you.”
“You could never hurt us.”
“I would never forgive myself if–”
“We’d be safe, Re. We’d be helping you.”
“Sirius, you’re not hearing what I’m saying.”
Except Sirius is hearing what Remus is saying, he just doesn’t like it. Sirius wants to enter Remus’ brain and poke around until he makes him see sense. More than anything, Sirius wants to make the most horrible thing Remus has to go through incredibly too often suck less, because no one in the world deserves to endure horrible transformations on full moons, but especially not Remus.
Sirius wants to say all of this, and he looks Remus in the eye and opens his mouth to do just that, but nothing comes out. Because Remus is looking at him all heartbroken and somehow hopeful at the same time and Sirius has never seen anything more breathtaking in his life. He doesn’t know what’s come over him and he swears he’s still angry and furious but Sirius feels like he’d implode if he doesn’t kiss Remus this fucking instant. And, oh, that is a thought.
Sirius is too angry to care, and he’ll scream some more after the fact, so he leans the tiniest bit closer and it may be his mind fucking him over but he swears Remus does the same, and they’re breathing in the same air and–
“This took us forever to find but– oh.”
Sirius jumps. He turns around and sees James and Peter standing in front of him. James is grinning and Peter is holding an enormous ancient-looking book.
“If I knew that making out with Remus was all that it took to make him change his mind I would’ve done it myself.”
“That’s not–”
“James! You–”
“It’s safe!” Peter says, cutting Remus and Sirius off and hitting Sirius’ chest with the book. Sirius yanks the book from Peter’s grip. “Look at the bookmarked pages.”
Remus is blushing when he takes the book from Sirius the very next second. Sirius thinks he’s blushing as well. “You shouldn’t dog ear library books, Peter, ”Remus mumbles as he starts flipping through.
Sirius chances a look at James and he immediately looks away because he can’t handle that much self-satisfaction right now. Only then does Sirius realize that it’s safe. He looks at James again and grins.
This is Sirius’ most favorite day, for more reason than one.

hi baby thank you! ily i hope this satisfies any hurt/comfort needs | rockstar!remus x fem!reader
One of the things that had drawn you to Remus was his steadiness. His quiet.
He sees the world plainly and as it is, but always with an ever-present sense of bemusement. You love that. The way he smiles and brushes things off when things go wrong used to make you happy, thrilled to have found someone to be the laidback counterpart to your overthinking freneticism.
It gets a little hard to swallow when you're really, really stressed though.
You're panicking aloud to him about safety issues with the barrier in his next venue. Remus likes to play next to security sometimes to 'escape Sirius'.
"People can jump that no problem. I really think you should stay on stage."
Remus smiles, near lackadaisical. "It's alright."
"It's not alright, though, something could happen to you."
"Like Lennon?"
"That's not funny."
He snorts, which really hurts your feelings. A barb stuck in your lungs, each inhale burning. "You can be really mean sometimes, Rem. I'm just trying to keep you safe."
"Mean? Dove, you're overthinking."
And yes, you are overthinking, but just because you're overthinking something doesn't mean you don't want to be taken seriously. You want to be listened to, you want him to actually seriously think about what you're saying and he won't. It's not something you'd ever expected from him. It hurts.
You glare at him before you can stop yourself and spin on your heel, shoes bumping down the steep tour bus steps as Remus calls after you. His tone only seals the deal, a frustrated, you're overreacting unsaid but clear.
You're so angry you slam the door behind you and completely ingore all of the other crew dawdling and packing stuff away outside.
It's cold, and it's getting dark, not ideal for a temper tantrum but you can make it work. For a while your anger keeps you warm, and suddenly the tips of your fingers are like ice and you don't know where you are.
You fish in your pockets for your phone and come up empty. "What the fuck?" you mumble, glad Remus isn't around to hear it as you stretch open your pocket and search for your cell, a flip phone with a shiny 'R' intital charm.
Annoyed that everything reminds you of him, you turn to your other pocket and give it the same invasive treatment.
It isn't there. You don't have your phone.
You tip your head back and huff at the inconvenience, though the sound of footsteps and girlish giggling quickly has you snapping back to attention. There's a fast food place across the street, and in the window you can see a group of teenage girls laughing and pointing their phones at you.
You look down at yourself. You're not exactly disguised, in Marauders merch and without sunglasses or a hat, you're clearly the girl from all the photos. Lupin's new fling, or whatever Today magazine had decided to call you.
I prefer groupie, you'd said. Remus had laughed so hard he cried.
You bring your hands up to your naked upper arms and scrub roughly at goosebumps, eyes up and vying for a street sign. Or better, a phone.
The fast food restaurant's door opens and laughter spills out. You don't think, you start in one direction and hurry down the street, eyes to the pavement as a voice calls out, then a second.
"Wait! Wait, are you Y/N?"
Your heart capers furiously in your chest as you turn a corner, hands behind your back and panting. A dark road stretches in front of you, kissed by lamplight and slick with rain from this morning. You watch your breath steam in front of you and listen to the group draw closer.
You have... less than happy experiences with fans. Something about you activates a cruel streak in some, especially when they're in groups like this. Jealousy, a need to be better. They can't understand why you're with Remus, and they're not afraid to let it be known.
You hide your hands under your arms and panic. You're really lost, and now those girls are looking for you, and it's awfully dark.
Seized, you stand with your back pressed to an icy wall and wait for their footsteps to fade away, heart racing under your hand. You peel away from the wall after cautionary five minutes that feels endless, fingers stiff. You shove them into the pockets of your joggers and turn back onto the street.
The light catches on a dark figure and you flinch too late, knocked clean off of your feet and onto the gravelly tarmac behind with a painful smack.
"Dove," Remus says, surprised. "Oh, darling, I'm so sorry."
He gets down onto his knees to help you up, assessing your scratched up elbows, your upper arms, your head. His eyes flit over you rapidly and don't stop, a frown playing on his lips.
"You've never called me darling before," you say, teary-eyed. You gasp as he lifts your arm to examine your bleeding elbow, a searing pain.
"You're my darling," he says simply.
"Shove all your darlings about?" you ask bitterly, not quite serious. "Or just me?"
"You're freezing," he murmurs sympathetically.
Remus opens his arms and you sink into him, arms sandwhiched between your two torsos. He rubs up and down the lengths of your back, readjusting his face against the top of your head over and over like he's trying to get closer still.
"I'm sorry," he says again, "for knocking you over and for being a knob. Sorry, lovely."
He sounds so incredibly worried that you pry your arms from his hot chest and needle them around him, frowning. You've never heard him sound like this. It's horrible.
"It's okay," you soothe.
"It's not okay. You're not okay, I've just cut your elbow." He presses his lips directly to the skin beneath his lips. "Are you alright?" he asks into your skin.
"I'm fine."
Your shaky voice further laments his concern.
"Poor girl." He kisses you again, and again.
"Remus, you can't just be mean and then- then smother me in affection."
He pulls away but keeps his hands on your shoulders, a blissful heat.
"You're right. I'm sorry for not listening. I know you have a hard time handling the anxiety that comes with touring. I know. I should've listened, even if I don't understand."
You blink at him. "Oh."
He nods. "Sorry, dove. Seriously."
His acknowledgement really does help ease the ache. You're still hurt, but now that you know he knows what you're going through, you feel better. You feel like you're on the same side again.
"I don't like when you're mean," you say. You feel pathetic, but you mean it. You want him to know how you'd felt. "When I'm trying to tell you something important and you're making jokes, it makes me feel stupid."
He looks rightly heartbroken at what you've said, and he ducks his head. "Right."
"Okay?" you ask, sliding a finger into one of his belt loops.
"I'm not trying to make you feel stupid," he says softly. "I'm sorry. It was a misguided attempt at minimising your worrying."
You stare at him, feeling pretty good about the whole thing. Unhappy that he looks so much like a kicked dog, but pleased that he's listened. Your hands are numb with cold as you pull up his t-shirt. He flinches, but to Remus' credit he doesn't ask you not to, only pulls you in again for a second hug.
"I know you didn't mean to. I'm sorry for worrying so much. Just want you to be safe."
He pats your back. "I think I get it. Looking for you, I mean. Worrying something was happening to you out here by yourself."
"Only thing happening to me is frostbite."
He laughs loudly over your head and you feel his chest rumble where it's pressed to your own, a hand curling over the back of your neck to encourage your face to one side so he can kiss all over your cheek. "You really are cold," he mumbles, giving your back a perfunctory rub.
"Think you better take me back to the hell bus and warm me up again."
He smiles into your cheek. "I can do that."

The Very End
31st July 1980
“He looks just like you, sweetie,” Lily said, beaming up at James with a look of pure joy.
James stared again – at Harry’s tiny hands, at his surprising amount of black hair, at the shape of his forehead, at his tiny, cute lips. He rubbed his wet cheeks with the back of his hand.
“He’s far cuter,” he sighed, placing his hands on either side of her shoulders, tenderly kissing the top of her head again, like he couldn’t quite believe she was safe.
“He’s gorgeous,” she whispered, holding Harry against her chest, still in a daze.
“I love you both so much, I can’t find enough words…” James said, as though annoyed at himself, and using the front of his T-shirt to wipe his eyes.
“You don’t need to, James,” Lily said.
It didn’t matter that she was more drained than she had ever felt in her life, that she felt worse than she did coming back from Order missions that went awry. Harry was the sweetest thing she had ever seen, and he was their baby. She hadn’t known it was possible to feel such overwhelming love for someone she had just met.
September 1981
“Prongs? Prongs! Pick up your mirror! It’s me. Fuck, Merlin, fuck! I can't... I don't… fuck!"
“Merlin, Pads, calm down! Are you alright? You look like shit. What happened?”
“I think Remus is the spy... fuck! Remus is the spy, I know he is!”
“Don’t be daft.”
“This isn’t a joke, Prongs!”
“Are you out of your mind, Sirius?”
“Don’t get angry, Prongs, I swear it’s the truth.”
“Don’t you dare accuse Moony of-“
“The only people who knew about the Prewetts’ mission were-“
“Fuck off, I’m not listening to your bullshit! Get some sleep, you look exhausted, old chap.”
“I swear to you-“
“And eat something, damn it! And apologise to Moony!”
October 1981
“Pettigrew, you are aware of the concept of a sell-by date?”
“My Lord?”
“Shall I spell it out for my Gryffindor spy? If fresh fruit isn’t consumed by a certain time, it rots and is thrown away.”
“M-my Lord?”
“Find me the Potters, or else!”
🎃🎃🎃🎃
“Prongs! Thank Merlin you picked up! I’m not risking using the mirrors again after today, they have spies everywhere, I feel like someone is watching us right now. I need to be quick!”
“Padfoot, I’m worried about you, you don't sound-“
“Listen to me! I’ve done more research on the Fidelius Charm. If I die, the protection dies with me. We need a back-up plan! They’ll come for me anyway, they’ll presume it’s me, and when they do-”
“Fucking bloody fucking -“
“Shut up and listen! And when they do, they won’t realise I wasn’t the Secret Keeper. You’ll still be safe, a double layer of protection. We need to swap. We need to make Peter the Secret Keeper!”
🎃🎃🎃🎃
“Sirius, we need to talk,” Remus said.
Sirius remained seated, his haunted eyes looking up at him devoid of happiness.
“Yes, we do,” he answered eventually, reluctantly.
“Sirius, I can’t keep doing this, sharing a flat with you knowing that you believe me to be a traitor, that I’m working for Voldemort,” Remus’ voice shook.
Sirius pressed his lips together tightly.
“What do you want me to do?” Sirius said after a long pause.
“I can’t live like this,” Remus said.
There were tears in his eyes and Sirius couldn’t stand it, couldn’t stand the part of him that longed to hold Remus tight and believe everything he said.
“What do you want me to do?” Sirius said.
“I… please, Sirius, you must know I would never,” Remus’ voice sounded like he was panicking.
He couldn’t keep doing this, throwing more and more complicated wards around the flat and then lying in bed wondering would Remus let Bellatrix in, or would he be found one day, murdered by his ex-lover in his sleep. It was slowly driving him insane.
“You’re right, we can’t live like this any longer,” Sirius said quietly, digging his nails into his hands to stop him falling apart.
“Sirius, please,” Remus said. “I can explain, I’m not supposed to, but I’ll tell you everything…”
Not so long ago he would have fallen for whatever falsehoods Remus told him, anything to persuade himself that Remus was on their side.
“Don’t bother!” he said, standing up, afraid to even let Remus start to speak, in case he fell for his elaborate stories.
Hadn’t they marvelled for years at how Remus always managed to get away with pranks, the only one never to get caught?
“I don’t want to hear your lies!” he said, trying desperately to keep his voice hard.
“Sirius, you’re not yourself,” Remus whispered.
His halting voice sounding kind, how could it sound so kind, despite Sirius’ words?
“Don’t!” Sirius couldn’t keep the panic out of his own tone. “Don’t try to manipulate me. Get out!”
Remus seemed stunned now. As though he genuinely hadn’t expected this. How?
Remus nodded dumbly and started walking slowly towards his room. Where was Remus going to go? He couldn’t afford to rent anywhere, would the bastard Death – Eaters give him a place to stay, a proper place, or shove him in some hovel and –
“Wait! I’m leaving,” he called out after Remus.
Remus turned around slowly, as though composing himself.
“Pardon?” he whispered.
“I’m going, I can’t stand this place since Prongs left, since Wormy left, it’s not home, I’ll find somewhere else,” he said, throwing on his leather jacket.
“Pardon? Pad- Sirius, I can’t stay here by myself, you know I can’t afford to pay for this,” Remus said, looking at him in utter confusion.
“I don’t want your money, Merlin, fuck!” Sirius said heatedly. “I just don’t want… just stay here… so Moody can keep an eye on you!”
“What will you…?” Remus still looked lost.
“I don’t give a flying fuck what happens to me, Remus,” Sirius said, striding towards James and Lily’s old room and throwing a few of his clothes haphazardly into his black backpack.
“Sirius! Where will you go?” Remus said, and he could see the concerned expression, the worried frown.
He had to get out or he would cave.
“It doesn’t concern you any longer, Lupin,” he said, his throat closing as he tried to speak.
He watched Remus swallow.
“I won’t stop fighting Voldemort or his men, you can tell them that,” he said. “My own miserable life may be falling apart, but I never deserved any better, and that doesn’t matter, not in the greater scheme of things. The show must go on.”
“Seren1,” Remus took one step forward, looking as though he might burst into tears.
“Fuck off, Lupin, leave me alone!” Sirius gasped, frightened at his own weakness, his lack of willpower.
31st October 1981
“Marvellous news, Wormtail,” Voldemort says, griping Peter’s shoulder and causing the small man to nearly faint with shock. “I haven’t felt this elated since I can’t remember when!”
Voldemort looks positively radiant, and Peter…

Wolfstar Microfic: Attachment
Remus checked his email for the tenth time, and finally - finally - there was a new unread message.
They were still getting a handle on email. They hadn’t grown up with it, but the ‘90s had brought on lots of new technologies to learn.
Sirius was having a much harder time of it. After spending all of those years in Azkaban - and the years before that isolated in the wizarding world - he struggled with learning things like using telephones and email.
But he seemed to have managed it this time.
Remus opened the email, and as agreed there was an attachment with the train schedule. Harry was supposed to be visiting a friend in Scotland for a week over the summer term, and Sirius had agreed to let Remus help him get there, since Sirius couldn’t leave Grimmauld Place safely. Remus was only too happy to help.
Remus copied down the train schedule onto a piece of paper, glad to have it. Just as he was about to close out the email, he realized that there was a second attachment.
That was weird; they hadn’t agreed on Sirius sending anything else.
The attachment was just labeled “Couch” so Remus didn’t have much to go on for context clues.
He clicked.
And- oh.
Oh.
He knew Sirius liked to sketch. Had always known that.
But Sirius hadn’t shown him any sketches in years.
And this one- this one was like nothing Remus had ever seen him do before.
Sirius had drawn them sitting together on the couch, drinking tea and talking. The lighting was soft, the edges of the picture hazy and delicate. There was a blanket loosely hanging around Sirius’ shoulders, and his feet were tucked up under him. His hair was down and loose, waves hanging this way and that. Remus, identifiable by the delicately and carefully drawn scars, didn’t have a blanket - he didn’t need one, he always ran hot - but he was lounging across the couch looking relaxed. Remus couldn’t help but feel awe at the way that the scars had been drawn: they didn’t look angry or threatening, and they didn’t even engender pity. They were almost pretty, as though they were a feature rather than a flaw.
It made Remus feel warm, and beautiful in a way he had never felt before.
Remus remembered the moment that he must have been referencing - it had been last week, late one night after everyone had left.
But…Sirius had made some changes. The very first thing that Remus noticed, and the one that made his eyebrows shoot up, was the way that they were looking at each other. It was deeply intimate, and loving. It made Remus blush just to think Sirius had ever noticed his face looking like that.
Except…Sirius’ expression was the same. It wasn’t meant to be embarrassing, it was meant to be sweet, and shared. Reciprocated.
There was also the fact that in the drawing they were holding hands, which had not been true to life. Remus wondered if Sirius had wanted him to reach out, to take his hand.
He would have, of course. They had never done that, Sirius had never seemed to want to, but by God he would have done it in a heartbeat.
He would have done it any time Sirius asked in the entire period of their acquaintance, in the before or the after.
He closed the attachment.
He wondered if Sirius had meant to send it.
Probably not, since he hadn’t mentioned it in the text of the email, and had only made some bored note about the train schedule.
Remus tried to suppress his smile and failed.
When he got back from dropping Harry off, they would talk.
And Merlin and Morgana, was he looking forward to this conversation more than he had to any conversation he’d had in years.
Oh, Sirius.

Wolfstar Microfic - Day 4
@wolfstarmicrofic
Tw: mentions of death
645 words
Future
Remus woke up to the sound of a baby crying.
He didn't question it at first. In the past year Remus had gone from place to place. He'd never grown very comfortable in one place before he was forced to move to the next. His new neighbors must have been parents, the walls just thin enough for the infant's cries to cut through.
But then he felt the body next to him - he only just registered there was a body next to him - shift, getting up and out of bed, leaving a cold space behind Remus's bare back.
Then it all came back to him.
It didn't feel real, but he remembered it. The empty gaze of James's eyes, his glasses shattered on the steps. Lily's hair spilling like blood over the floorboards. The sound of a baby crying.
The sound of a baby crying, which sounded eerily similar to what he was hearing now.
Oh.
Harry.
Sirius had showed up to Remus's flat - lord only knows how he was able to track him down - drenched in rainwater, gasping and sobbing, begging Remus to listen.
"Please, Remus, I've made a terrible mistake - we have to save them!"
They'd left Godric's Hollow with two fewer friends, and a new responsibility.
Remus wasn't laying in his own bed this morning. These weren't the thin walls of any flat he'd managed to secure. This was Sirius's place, a nice London townhouse he'd bought with his late uncle's money. His bones and muscles didn't ache from a bad night's sleep, and he was warm under thick covers rather than under threadbare old quilts.
The crying had stopped.
When Remus finally made his way down stairs, he was greeted by the sight of Sirius curled up in an arm chair that was definitely never intended to rock the way it had recently been enchanted to. The baby laying on his chest was fast asleep - Harry's black curls plastered to his forehead by sweat, or maybe tears, framing his new scar, which had grown angry and red overnight.
He snuck into the kitchen, preparing two cups of tea, trying to busy his hands, not ready to confront the fact that yesterday had been real.
Sirius didn't look up at Remus as he sat down on the couch across from him, placing the cups on the coffee table between them. Sirius held his head in his hand, the palm of his pressed against his lips. He gazed out the window with dark eyes at the streets below them.
"They're celebrating," Sirius's voice croaked.
Remus felt his heart in his throat, blinking back tears as they sprung to his eyes. He cleared his throat, trying to reason - "Voldemort is dead."
"At what cost?"
Remus didn't have a reasonable response for that, and if he were being completely honest, he didn't want one.
He sniffled, tears pooling in his eyes as he could no longer hold them back. Sirius looked over at him, finally meeting his gaze as the first, salty tear fell.
They sat in silence for awhile, their drinks on the table going cold, untouched by either of them.
"What are we going to do, Moony?" Sirius asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper that seemed to echo off the walls of the quiet room. "We can't stay here, it's - it's not safe, for Harry. They're out there singing his bloody praises when his parents just -"
His voice broke, and Sirius sobbed, pressing his cheek against Harry's head and holding him tighter.
"I don't know," Remus admitted, wanting nothing more than to take Sirius in his arms and hold them both as close as he could, for as long as possible.
The future was an uncertain thing. Even more hazy and unknowable than it had ever been. But they had to brave it.
For Harry's sake.
For James. And for Lily.

our secrets laid bare
This is a Dorcas!Survives AU! Dumbledore forces Dorcas into hiding and though the Dark Lord has been defeated, Dumbledore insisted Dorcas stay in hiding. Until now. Takes place during OOTP. Plz be kind.
Relevant Ships: Remus/Sirius, prev. Dorcas/Marlene, Lily/James
Chapter One
“There is no choice. You’ll have to go into hiding.”
An hour had passed since Dumbledore appeared before her in the dead of the night, warning her of Voldemort’s intentions to murder her. She’d only had a few moments to shove the contents of her life into a few bags before they’d apparated off.
In that hour, they landed somewhere on the coast of Wales, just shy of the water. He had forbade her of any questions until they’d made it to the safehouse. The safe ‘house’ was a cottage, standing upon a cliffside, long forgotten. They’d entered into a sparsely decorated living room, filled with cobwebs and dust.
“Dumbledore, I don’t mean to come across this way - but now can you explain to me what in the hell is going on? I mean, my home, my family, my friends, Marlene - for Christ sake, I can’t just stay here!” she’d managed, still shocked from the events of the night.
There was a pause before the older man spoke. “I’m afraid you have no choice, Ms. Meadowes. I hate to do this to you, I do. But Voldemort, he will stop at nothing to reach you.” He spoke with such finality, such certainty. Fear coursed through her veins.
“But, surely, you can tell those closest to me that I’m not dead? I can write to them, can’t I?” Dorcas pleaded. She was sure her face looked as desperate as she felt.
Grimly, Dumbledore told her that no, she could not contact anyone. That she could only contact him, should he initiate it. She was, until further notice, forced to engage in Muggle life and have no contact within the Wizarding World, the only world she’d known since she was eleven.
In true Dumbledore fashion, he’d left her with far more questions to mull over in silence. By morning, she’d cleared the cobwebs and transfigured a fair amount of the furniture when she’d gotten word from Dumbledore.
True to his word, Voldemort was angry that he couldn’t reach Dorcas. There was very little left of the home that Dorcas made for herself. But his anger didn’t stop there. Almost immediately, he set out for the McKinnon house.
The same night she survived, Marlene died.
In the months that followed that night, Dumbledore would provide as many updates as possible. His letters were always short, almost never providing any good news. When Voldemort had fallen, it was only herself and Dumbledore who truly knew that he would rise to power once more. There was no real happiness in it, with Lily and James gone. Only biding time for their son.
Some days, it was almost easier to pretend that none of it ever happened. She’d go through phases of hanging and taking down the very few pictures of her friends she’d managed to keep. She threw herself into her life here, so much so that she barely noticed when the years had passed. By her eleventh year there, she could go days without thinking of it.
However, Dorcas could never stop herself from opening Dumbledore’s letters. When she first received word of what happened that night in Godric’s Hollow, she’d begged and pleaded with Dumbledore to let her raise Harry, arguing that he’d be far more suited with someone that could teach him who he was with grace instead of shame. Dumbledore, however, refused. It was foolish, knowing exactly why Harry had to stay with those horrid people, but she hoped. There was nothing more painful than the hope that Dumbledore would write of him, ensuring his safety.
When Harry arrived at Hogwarts, Dorcas had been counting down the days – somewhat hopeful that Dumbledore would pull her out of hiding. He did not. Yet, Dumbledore knew that it made Dorcas feel better to hear of his adventures. As she read every letter, she’d marvel at  how he was every bit of James and Lily - exceedingly brave, incredibly loyal, and almost detrimentally kind.
Her life continued in this weird middle ground of existing as a Muggle in her day to day ventures, but desperately clinging on to the wizarding world, hoping for the day she might be able to return.
Though she could barely take it to think of her in the day, her nights were flooded with thoughts of Marlene. Loving her was the best and worst parts of that war. They were so certain they’d survive this, defeat him. Marlene wanted to get married. She’d propose the silliest ideas for their wedding as they lay together in the night, tangled up in each other.
“I don’t suppose you’ll let Sirius be the one to marry us.” she whispered into the dark of Dorcas’ bedroom.
“Merlin, no. That boy would try to fit as many inappropriate -- but hilarious -- jokes into it, half the service would be him making poorly-timed dick jokes.”
Marlene laughed in response. She had one of those laughs where you couldn’t help laughing, too. Dorcas was one of the only people who could make her laugh so unrestrained that she’d snort or scrunch her face up in the most unflattering way.
But she loved her for it. If she could, she’d forge a ring and get down on one knee this very instant.
“It’ll be the best wedding of all time, I reckon. Mary would be my bridesmaid, of course. I’m being courteous in giving you Lily.”
And though Dorcas knew this was hypothetical now, Marlene truly believed it. She looked forward to this imaginary day, where all of them lived long enough to see them marry.
“You think we’ll win this?” Dorcas asked, voice lowered and void of all the humor it previously held.
Suddenly, Marlene turned to face her, grabbing her face with both of her hands.
“Think? I know. I mean, we have you, the brightest fucking witch of the century. What does Dumbledore say? We have ‘light and love and power in numbers’. They have nothing on us, my love.”
Dorcas can’t remember what she said last, perhaps she laughed or exclaimed about how much she loved the other woman. It was one of their last conversations before Marlene became a mere memory to Dorcas. The brightest witch of their century and yet, she couldn’t protect the one person she held most dear.
Undeniably, it was more pleasant to not think of these times. After particularly vivid dreams, she’d wake in a cold sweat and pull every picture frame down from the wall. Then, she’d drive into town and drown herself in its monotony. She enjoyed this place, somewhere where everyone was too normal and too kind.
When she first arrived in town, she hadn’t even thought of a new name or identity for herself. After being put on the spot by a well-intentioned local, she regrettably named herself Jane Weatherbee and created a whole faux background about being an orphan who grew out of the system and worked hard enough to open her own store.
The store in question was a bookstore, lovingly named The Book Trader, sat happily in the heart of the town. She’d managed to get a pretty good deal in buying it and made fair enough business to keep herself afloat. On the weekends, she did readings for little kids and every month, she did book-drives. Dorcas fell in love with being Jane Weatherbee. When she was Jane, she had no baggage. Jane had more alive friends than dead ones. Jane didn’t have a family that thought she was dead. Jane didn’t have a dead girlfriend.
It wasn’t exactly healthy, living like that. But this was how she coped. And on better days of being Jane, she could come home and be Dorcas. She could put the picture frames back up and think of better days without it breaking her soul in two. Only then, she could think of Marlene’s laugh and not want to die.
Fifteen years came and gone and slowly, Dorcas felt she might never return to the wizarding world. There would always be Death Eaters desperate to kill her for what she knew and Voldemort would always be creeping in the shadows, waiting for the day that he would rise once more. Dumbledore hadn’t contacted her in months, but she was used to that. Surely, if he had anything worth saying, he’d have said it.
Autumn had settled in a couple days shy of September, she’d been out tending to her garden when she’d heard a crack - the crack of an apparition.
Rushing to the source of the sound, Albus Dumbledore stood before her, slightly aged and as intimidating as ever. Still, Dorcas welcomed him with open arms. Behind him, stood Harry Potter - the spitting image of James. For a moment, her heart stopped, fearing she’d seen a ghost.
“Albus, the boy, why is he here?” she asked, then nervously motioning to Harry, “Not that I’m not happy to have you here, of course.”
Dumbledore smiled gently, patting her shoulder. “Let us talk inside, Dorcas. I’d like a cup of tea, if you could.”
Dorcas nervously led them inside and went straight to making tea. From the kitchen, she could just barely spot Harry staring at her picture wall, hand grazing what she assumed was a picture of his parents. Dumbledore, having made himself comfortable on her recliner, went on complimenting ‘what she’d done with the place’. Her cat, Missy, had jumped from her place on the fireplace mantle and directly into Dumbledore’s lap, which he didn’t seem to mind.
When she returned to the front room, Harry was sitting on the couch, tightly grasping a picture frame in his hands. “I’ve never seen this one before. You knew my mother?” he asked, looking curiously up at her.
For a brief moment, her heart broke, thinking of a reality where Harry knew her to be an Aunt, rather than some distant stranger, with more bits and pieces of his parents than he’d ever had. Reluctantly, she sat next to him, taking the picture from his hands. It was the day Lily and James got married - it was a very sudden wedding, considering the circumstances. Dorcas and Mary nearly died trying to put the whole thing together on such short notice. In the photo, Dorcas and Lily clung to each other, laughing at some long-forgotten joke.
“Lily Evans was one of my best friends, I loved her dearly. I was her maid of honor when she married James. Hell, I even remember when you were born.” Then, she pointed to a picture, hanging on the wall behind them. In it, Sirius is posed with Remus and a two month old Harry, both of them trying to make him laugh.
“Is that Professor Lupin?” Harry asked, now looking intently at the photo. Dorcas could only nod, deeply saddened that Remus had been reduced to the role of just ‘Professor Lupin’ in his life.
“Yeah, Remus was always so certain he was your favorite, he’d always make these silly faces at you to try and make you laugh. It always worked, but Sirius would say it’s ‘cause you were too young to ‘appreciate true humor’” Dorcas laughed at this, vividly remembering their arguments over Harry’s attention. Harry, however, appeared deeply saddened.
Dorcas wasn’t aware of the current state of Harry’s relationship with Remus, but his eyes were locked on the image of them. Dumbledore updated her on Remus and Sirius, when he could, but it wasn’t very descriptive. For so long, she wished she could leave and run to them and help them any way she could. She’d felt so useless, watching the beginnings of a war brew from a distance away.
It clicked then, why Dumbledore had come here, why he’d brought Harry.
“Albus, I won’t be staying here, will I?” she asked, finally turning to face the older man.
“You’ve always been so sharp, Dorcas. But no, you cannot stay. Unless you’d like to, of course.” Dumbledore met her gaze, with the happiest expression she’d seen on him in ages. He knew she’d say yes, even before she did. She’d waited years for this moment.
The second he rose out of his seat, she hugged him eagerly and whispered endless thanks. It was strange to embrace Dumbledore like that, but she didn’t care. After fifteen years, she’d finally be returning. She could practically scream with joy.
They quickly arranged for Dumbledore to return by the next night, but that was all - Dumbledore was in quite the rush.
As Harry and Dumbledore stood to leave, Dorcas had picked up the picture of Sirius and Remus that Harry had been so fixated on.
“It’s yours, if you want it.” she’d said, placing the frame in his hands. At first, he seemed taken aback at her generonesity. But after a pause, he gratefully accepted it. “They loved you. Oh, Harry...we all loved you, as if you were our own. You are nothing if not the greatest expression of your parent’s love. Remus and Sirius, and myself now, we’d do anything to protect that.”
Dorcas met his gaze, her eyes glazed in tears. Shockingly, he hugged her and whispered a soft thanks to her. She’d been so shocked and overwhelmed that she could barely process the act, let alone return it.
Quickly, Harry left to join Dumbledore’s side. Together, the two stood outside of her cottage, preparing to leave, when Dumbledore turned around once more and called out to her.
“Miss Meadowes, you do understand you’ve just agreed to fill Professor Vector’s old spot in Arithmancy, do you?” he’d said, a slight smile still on his face.
Her eyes widened, she rushed over to ask the millions of questions already populating in her mind, but Dumbledore was quick - he’d apparated himself and Harry away before she could even get a word out.
“Oh, that man!” she’d exasterbately screamed into the nothingness around her. Overcome with happiness, she returned inside her cottage for the final time.
~
Dorcas was restless that entire night. She’d packed her little life relatively fast, always ever-grateful for the resourcefulness of her magic. In regard to her life as Jane Weatherbee, she’d written to her sole employee, a fickle man named Leo, conjuring up a family emergency so urgent that she had to pack her entire life up overnight and that the shop was now his, if he wanted. If not, he’d get a pretty penny from selling the place.
Stuck in her own daydreams and fantasies of Hogwarts and reuniting with her friends,  she hadn’t even realized that the sun had come up, nor did she notice the crack of an apparition, signaling Dumbledore’s presence.
“Dreaming, are we, Miss Meadowes? Or might I say, Professor Meadowes”
His voice pulled her out of her own head and immediately, she stood to greet him.
“Professor, surely you must know that I have endless questions for you and I’m grateful for the job and you haven’t got to answer me until we reach Hogwarts, but-” she’d rushed through her words, mentally kicking herself for still sounding like such a child in front of him.
“We won’t be going to Hogwarts just yet, Dorcas. If you’ll allow me, I’ll be taking you to the headquarters of the newly-established Order of The Phoenix. We have quite a bit to talk about.”

Prompts: underground/shrapnel
Remus looks up from his seat on their sofa as he enters through the door at a sluggish pace, everything hazy, something trapping him in a thick fog. Sirius blinks at the other man, jumping a little as the door swings closed behind him, attached to some automatic hinge that Sirius has always hated. He's surprised to see Remus here. He's never here anymore. Neither of them are, at least never at the same time.
"Sirius?" questions Remus, standing slowly, approaching cautiously, almost as though he's worried Sirius will lash out like an angry, feral cat.
He says his name twice more before Sirius works through his daze enough to respond. "They're gone," is all he manages.
"What?" The confusion is clear on Remus' face. So is the fear and the dread, all the things they've grown so used to in the past two years. They're gone translates to loss. Gone means death, another funeral, another memorial that no one has time for anymore. Gone makes hearts stop in chests now.
"James and Lily. Harry," attempts Sirius, throat thick, and he sees the stricken expression flood Remus, the hollowness entering his brown eyes. "They're in hiding," he hastens to add as quickly as he can manage. He watches as the lines on Remus' face relax only a small amount. "We can't see them. They're hidden, underground, whatever. They're just…they're gone."
Remus takes a moment, but he eventually nods slowly before taking a careful step forward. "But they're safe," he voices. "Right? They're safe? They can't be found. That's the whole point of this."
Sirius swallows and nods as well, a jerky motion of his head. Remus steps forward again, closing that remaining gap, arms reaching out, offering comfort, but Sirius hesitates, wobbles with it, balancing on a rope between need and that distrust he can't seem to fight against when he wants it gone the most. Remus seems to see it, pulling back a bit, something flashing through his eyes like disappointment, a little heartbreak. Sirius winds his fingers into his palms, nails digging in sharply to skin.
"They're gone," he repeats in a devastating whisper, and then he's caving, falling forward, Remus catching him easily. Sirius clings to him, doesn't know what else to do. "They're gone, Moony."
He feels as though he's being hit with layers and layers of shrapnel, constant burst raining over him, plunging into skin, digging deeply into bone, draining the marrow away, leaving him empty and void. Sirius shakes because his friends – his family – are gone and he doesn't know when or if he'll ever see them again. His veins vibrate with loss, so strong he doesn’t think he could ever feel worse, but of course he can, and he will. He just won't understand that for a few more days still.
"But they're safe," murmurs Remus into his hair, hands gliding over his back, arms tightly locked around Sirius. "They're safe. Voldemort can't find them. You've made sure of that."
"Yeah," says Sirius, because he can't say anything else.
They stay like that for a while, an immeasurable amount of time passing around them. Sirius begins to relax, forgetting some of the worst of it, just for a minute or an hour; only long enough to let himself sink the way he needs to, the way he always has in these arms with this person. Until Remus speaks.
"I…have to leave in the morning," he hedges. "Early. Before dawn." And Sirius stiffens again as it all floods back to him, filling in those hollowed places that had once been so warm with that chill he can never shake completely now. He tries to pull back, but Remus' grip tightens a little. "No, don't," he nearly begs. "Please, just…don't. Stay."
Sirius' gaze shifts over the other man's face, takes in the pleading flooding those eyes, something he's never been able to resist, not even now. So he does, he stays. Remus leaves. When Sirius wakes with the first flickers of light the next morning, the space in the bed beside him is empty and cold. Remus is gone too. And Sirius is alone.
He spends the next two days in the same way, alone, on his own. Sirius has two days of solitude before that's all he's left with for twelve years.

Hey there Snitch!!! Big OLT fan over here 👆👆 ok so here is my question, after the big father and son meeting, James is not intrigued by the fact that Lily never told him that she was pregnant in the first place? He's not mad at her at all? Just upset about being kind of an idiot? I would love to read more about his (and yours consequently) thoughts and feelings about it. And I'm guessing we going to see them talking about Harry, I was just wondering if this hasn't crossed his mind. Can't wait to the final chapter!! This is by far the fic that has instigued me the most in a very long time. Thank you for sharing it with us
Oh thank you darling! I'm so glad you love it so much. I've had this fic brewing for so long that I'm loving sharing it with you all. It's a bit bittersweet to post the final chapter and be done with it. What if I don't post Monday and just keep it open for a bit longer? 🤔 (just kidding, i wouldn't do that to you all!)
So let's talk angry James.
I had several comments and messages about how angry James would be at Lily/Mary/Remus/etc when he found out, and to me, that feels like a mischaracterization of James--at least OLT James. Maybe Ignite James, but he has way more fire and fight than OLT James. He's feeling a lot of emotions, and maybe he's a bit upset, but I don't even think that is an overwhelming feeling for him.
First, consider the moment that he figures it out. He's not talking to Lily, he's looking at his son. James, who was an only child of older parents, has always wanted kids--plural, as in a big family. He was never going to be angry about having a kid. I don't think, in that moment, he is thinking about why he didn't already know about Harry, he's just thinking I have a kid.
When Lily shows up, I think he's still in awe of Harry, who has just hugged him, and I think he picks up on the fact that Lily is upset EVEN THOUGH he doesn't know why. He does love her (despite the way he's been acting) and I think that he doesn't want to fight with her right then, especially if she's upset.
Tiny spoiler for the next chapter, but there's a small time jump before the next chapter (days, not weeks or months), and I think James had a lot of time to think (and talk to Remus and Sirius) in that time, and I think he's done a lot of thinking about how they got there. I don't think he'd blame Lily enough that he'd ever reach the point of anger.
The thing is, they both have fault here (I know the debate in the comments has been raging over Team James and Team Lily, and maybe you agree or disagree with who is MORE to blame, but they have both taken steps that prevented a resolution here). James has to take some of the blame here, and being mad at Lily would mean he'd have to at least deny that he had a part in this. (also, to be fair, James is definitely mad at himself too).
I do think they have a lot of discussions to have, and that this is definitely one that would come up. It is not in chapter 9. However, if it were to exist somewhere, it would probably look a little something like....
***
James pulls Lily closer to him, her head resting on his chest as the sweat cools on their bodies. He twirls a finger in her hair, the question lingering in his mind until it just comes out. “Did you ever think about telling me?”
Lily turns, resting her chin on his chest so she can look at him properly. “Hm? When?”
“While you were hiding. Did you ever think about telling me? Sending an owl or something?”
“Of course I did.” Lily pushes herself up a little more, so they are face to face, and he can see the storm of emotions brewing there. “I wanted to tell you every day. If it had been any other situation, I would have told you immediately.”
“You did?” He hates the uncertainty in his voice.
“Yes, James.” She bends to kiss him. “I wanted to, but we had just broken up because we couldn’t keep each other safe. A baby? He was safer if no one, including you, knew he existed. What if the owl was intercepted? They would have used him against you, and I couldn’t let that happen.”
“No, I know that. I get why you made that choice.” James tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. “I guess… I just need to know that you wanted to.”
Lily cups his face with her hand. “Every day. Every single day, I wanted to tell you. I was so afraid, and my body was changing, and I wanted to share every single moment with you. It was the best and worst time of my life.”
“I wish I could have been there. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to see you pregnant.” He sees her face drop at this, and he immediately regrets it. “I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant. I don’t blame you for it.”
“No, I know. I wish you could have been there too.”
Lily laid her head down on his chest, and James bites back the words he wants to say. We could do it again. I can be there this time.
It’s too soon. They’ve only just started to come back to each other, to trust each other. But soon, James thinks, he’ll have to grab that ring his mother is keeping for him, the one that belonged to his grandmother and was always meant to be for Lily. Soon, they’ll talk about more.
For now, he’s content with her and Harry, and it’s enough.

Tell Me Your Dirty Secret
Pairing Bill Weasley x Fem!Reader (slight Sirius Black x Fem!Reader)
Word Count: 4.5k
CW: Smut, Jealousy, choking kink, possessive!Bill, Dom!Bill, Sub!Reader, use of pet names, aftercare, slight degradation, oral (male receiving), vaginal sex, slightest bit of violence, unprotected sex. if I’ve missed anything out plz let me know!
It’s midnight and there is not a soul in sight. Spending the holidays with the order in Grimmauld place sure was exciting from Sirius’ drunken shenanigans and Molly's incredible cooking to the twins' pranks, there was never a boring moment within the household.
Currently, you were sitting in the kitchen nursing a cup of hot chocolate thinking about your boyfriend Bill Weasley. You had met Bill through his brother Charlie, whose year you’d been in at school, the crush you had on Bill started from the moment you met him but you waited until you had left school before trying to get closer to him.
At the moment Bill was away on order business he was due back in the morning, this left you unable to sleep out of concern for his safety and with time to collect your thoughts.
Bill is the most handsome man you’ve ever met, his piercing blue eyes and his strong muscular form are all perfect but his kind and charming personality made you even more attracted. Bill is the sweetest boyfriend you could ever ask for, always checking up on you asking about your day, complimenting the meals you make, running a bath when you don’t feel well. His warm embrace makes you feel so safe and secure among other things... The sex is amazing Bill is always so attentive, always taking care of you first before carefully making love to you but it wasn’t enough. For the past few weeks, you had been wanting him to be a little rougher with you but you didn’t know how to tell him what you wanted.
It started one morning when he’d walked into the bedroom to find you struggling to tie your shoes, he’d bent down and tied them for you. You watched as his fingers, which were laden with rings, quickly but efficiently tie your laces before he stood up to kiss you on the cheek.
That was only the start of your fascination with his rings, he would often massage your shoulders for you after a long day at work before retiring to bed. When he kisses you he often holds your face in one of his hands, the cold metal of his rings against your face would cause butterflies in your stomach.
But you also wanted him to choke you. You’d started imagining him choking you after going out to a bar with him, a guy had been harassing you and you’d been trying to ignore it but he grabbed your arm tightly within his hand in a bruising grip trying to talk you into going home with him. You could smell the alcohol on his breath and before you knew it the man was being held up against the nearest wall by Bill, his hand around the pervs throat as he gave him a gruff warning to leave you alone.
Since that moment you’d constantly been fantasising about what it’d be like to have Bills hands around your neck whilst you had sex. The only problem with this being that Bill was ever so gentle whilst having sex with you, he’d never been rough in the bedroom.
You sigh as you finish off your hot chocolate before walking over to the sink with your mug to wash it out. *there must be some way to get him to be rough with me* you think longingly, suddenly the idea strikes you like a lightning bolt *Bill only had his hand around that man's neck because he pissed him off, perhaps if I make him jealous enough and then try to seduce him he will be rougher*
With that thought in mind, you decide to head up to bed not wanting to wear yourself out before tomorrow’s order meeting which would be the perfect opportunity to put your plan into action.
-
The weekly order meeting at Grimmauld Place was due to start in a few minutes, the house bustling with order members. Bill spots you from across the room and starts making his way over to you, “y/n” he shouts over the crowd.
Looking around you, you notice that the seat next to the owner of the house Sirius Black is free so you quickly seat yourself next to him.
“Alright love,” he says arching one brow before taking a sip out of the goblet in front of him.
“Yeah good,” you say looking around the kitchen for Bill, you spot him speaking to his mother who must have accosted him before he could get to you.
“trouble in paradise?” he asks before leaning back in his seat.
“No, no, nothing like that” you hastily reply, “I just um…” you look him up and down before taking a quick glance at Bill across the room.
“Y/n?”
You decide to give in and ask Sirius for help with your plan considering that he seems to be one of the few people in the room who would agree to it. “Would you help me with something?”
“Sure doll, what?” he asks, leaning in closer to listen to you.
“I need to make Bill jealous”
Sirius smirks before looking over your shoulder for Bill, he turns back to you and looks you up and down “what’s in it for me?”
You consider backing out for a second but at the thought of potentially having Bill's hand around your neck, you decide to go for it. “I’ll get you a bottle of firewhiskey”
Sirius smiles before taking your hand in his “deal” he doesn’t release your hand and whispers “don’t turn around he’s watching us, play along.” He raises your hand to his mouth before placing a chaste kiss upon your knuckle, you giggle both out of nervousness and to keep up the act.
You place your hand on the table and continue your conversation with Sirius.
“Why are you trying to make him jealous? If you don’t mind me asking?”
You look into his eyes and contemplate whether you should tell him or not. “I just want to piss him off,” you say, batting your eyelashes innocently.
“Mhmm, so you don’t just want some rough passionate make-up sex” He replies cockily picking up his goblet again.
You look at him sheepishly “how’d you know?”
He places his goblet back on the table before putting his hand on top of yours, “you don’t look like an angry woman trust me I’d know from all of the women- well also men that I’ve angered in my lifetime and every time you look at him you look as if you want to jump his bones.”
“I um-“
Sirius cuts you off, “it’s okay, you don’t need to explain yourself, maybe give me a few details tomorrow if you’re still able to walk, oh and my firewhiskey but I’m glad to be at your service doll”
You hit him on the shoulder before letting out a laugh, a tear falls from your eye as you laugh.
Dumbledore walks into the room getting ready to start the meeting, “Let's hope that Bill sits reasonably close to us” you say getting visibly excited.
Sirius lets out a chuckle, “Have fun I suppose but don’t come crying to me in the morning when you need a pain-relieving potion”
Bill walks over to you and leans over your shoulder to kiss you but you dodge him at the last second so that his kiss lands on your cheek. “Hello love, you look like you’re having fun” instead of turning around to speak to him you continue to look at Sirius, “mhmm,” you say dismissively. Bill gives you a look of confusion before walking away, he sits down at the opposite side of the table to you just as Dumbledore starts the meeting.
The meeting is relatively boring. It mainly consists of Albus talking about the upcoming patrols, you can feel Bill's eyes on you as you try to concentrate on the meeting and decide to shift your chair closer to Sirius’. Your hand is still on the table and after a few seconds of sitting closer to Sirius you can feel him place his hand on top of yours, he starts to stroke your knuckles with his thumb. You look up at him offering him a smile, he smirks back at you and leans into your ear. “We’ve barely done anything and he looks irritated already, follow my lead” he whispers before he leans back into his chair he strokes your cheek lightly with his free hand.
A couple of minutes pass by before Sirius shifts his chair even closer, he takes one arm and wraps it around you, you lean into his side with your head resting on his shoulder. You hear an angry huff from the other side of the table and take a glance up to see Bill with an angry expression upon his face.
Mad-eye starts giving his report on the happenings in Hogsmeade and you can feel yourself start to drift off to sleep as he continuously rambles.
You open your eyes at the feeling of someone lightly shaking you, “y/n love, you fell asleep the meetings finished” you look up to see that you have fallen asleep on Sirius, the rest of the order are starting to get up out of their chairs. Bill walks Molly and Arthur over to the floo giving yourself and Sirius a minute to yourselves.
“I don’t think we’ve pissed him off enough,” you say whilst trying to think of what else you could possibly do.
“You’re staying for drinks with us aren’t you? Perhaps we could flirt a bit more or you touch me up” suggests Sirius and before you can put up even the slightest protest at his suggestion Bill returns to the table with Charlie, Remus, Tonks and drinks in tow.
For a while Bill ignores you but you can see the slight frown upon his face every time he looks down your end of the table.
After a while of sitting back and listening to Charlie's stories about his encounters with dragons, you hear someone’s stomach rumble. Tonks giggles “sorry, I guess I’m still hungry”
Bill stands up “I’ll see if I can find any food, I’m sure Mum left some cookies a couple of days ago”
As Bill walks around the table you reach out to Sirius and put your hand on his thigh. You hear Bill let out a low growl as he notices how close you are to touching Sirius’ crotch. Before making his way over to the pantry he leans down over your shoulder, you can feel his warm breath behind your ear. “What are you doing?” He asks angrily.
You turn around to look at him and notice the red tinge on his face. It almost matches the shade of his hair due to how angry he is. “Nothing babe, I’m just talking to Sirius, am I not allowed to speak to my friend?” You reply innocently.
Bill lets out a huff before wiping a hand across his face trying to calm himself down, he proceeds to walk over to the pantry to find the cookies and upon returning he practically throws the plate onto the table. Everyone bar yourself and Remus takes one. After a couple of minutes you reach out to grab a smaller one but Sirius stops you by grabbing onto your hand. “I’m not sure you’ll want one love, they’re a few days old so they are quite hard.”
“That’s okay, I like it hard” you reply cockily before grabbing one.
There's a stunned silence for a moment before everyone starts laughing, that is everyone except Bill.
Sirius stretches in his seat before standing up, “c’mon let’s go sit in the library it’s much warmer up there” Sirius reaches towards you taking your arm in his before leading the way up to the library.
Upon reaching the library, Sirius backs you into a bookshelf and cages you in with his arms. “I’m sure you’ll get what you want soon, love” he whispers down into your ear. Instead of withdrawing after whispering into your ear, he keeps his face close to yours so that if anyone were to walk into the room it would look as though the two of you were making out.
Sirius has the most breathtaking eyes you’ve ever seen, you can feel your breath hitch as you gaze into his face. Sirius due to his lineage has sharp aristocratic features upon his face, his lips voluptuous and full. If you weren’t already with Bill you definitely would have jumped Sirius’ bones.
A couple of minutes go by, you hear the sound of the floo signalling that someone has left. Another minute flies by and you feel your heart flutter in your chest with anticipation. A stomping noise comes from the staircase before the door is abruptly opened,
Bang!
In a matter of seconds, Sirius has been roughly pulled away from you and pinned into the wall by an angry Bill.
Bill has his hand wrapped around Sirius’ throat and you can feel the anger radiating off of him. “Hands off my girl” he growls. You whimper but Bill ignores you so that he can focus on Sirius who is currently pinned to the wall smirking.
“Trust me I’m not interested in your girl” replies Sirius cockily despite having a muscular hand around his throat.
“Then why were you all over each other?” Asks Bill, his hand on Sirius's neck slightly loosens
“Because she asked for it” Sirius replies cockily. Bill tightens his hand around Sirius’ neck yet again and you whimper even louder than before. Your panties are completely soaked and you’re rubbing your thighs together to try and relieve some of the arousal that you are feeling. Both Bill and Sirius hear your whimper and look over to you watching as you non-discreetly rub your thighs together.
“She planned this Bill, look at her, she’s getting off on it,” Sirius says with a hint of laughter in his voice.
Bill watches you for another second before letting go of Sirius.
“Is that true princess? Did you plan this?” asks Bill, with a strange look on his face. You don’t respond to him so he walks over to you and tilts your head up to look at him.
“Answer me when I talk to you” he growls dangerously, his eyes have darkened slightly, possibly due to his anger or arousal. You whimper again before nodding. “come on love, let’s go to bed” he firmly grasps your arm and marches you over to the door, he stops and turns to speak to Sirius from across the room “we still okay to stay tonight?” He asks gruffly.
“Sure mate” replies Sirius leaning against a bookcase with a smirk on his face. The last thing you see before you are dragged out of the room is Sirius winking at you.
With a tight grip on your arm, Bill marches you up the stairs of Grimmauld Place towards one of the guest rooms. You can feel butterflies in your stomach both excited and nervous at the prospect of getting what you want. Bill drags you into the guest room and closes the door. Bill turns around to watch you for a minute before beckoning you forward with his finger. “Come here love”
Cautiously you walk towards him till you are standing right in front of him.
“Why did you do that?” asks Bill, the strange but intimidating look remains on his face.
“M’sorry” you reply, slightly embarrassed.
“No love, I didn’t ask you to apologise. I said why?” He steps forward so that there is no space between you. You can feel his breath on your face.
“Just wanted to make you jealous” you reply, sheepishly.
Bill puts his hand under your chin and tilts your head to make you look at him. “Why’d you want me jealous princess?” his mouth is right next to your ear and you can feel his warm breath against the side of your face.
“S’hot” you reply putting a hand on his chest
“Mhmm, and what else?” Asks Bill, starting to kiss and suck on your neck.
You let out a quiet moan, “want you to be rough”
“Rough? how’d you want me to be rough?”
You pull back from him slightly to look into his eyes, his pupils are wide with arousal, “Well?” He asks arching a brow
“Want you to fuck me hard,” you say breathlessly, you can feel the tingle in your pussy from just admitting to your desire to be dominated.
“Good girl” he whispers before kissing you, Bill brings up one hand to start massaging your breast as he backs you up to the closest wall. Bill presses you up against the wall and softly bites your lip before backing away from you. You whine, Bill stands in the middle of the room with his arms crossed looking slightly amused at how desperate you are. “strip” he orders. You look up at him and don’t make a move to take off your clothes.
“Are you dumb princess? I said strip” Bill gives you a stern look as he orders you to take your clothes off. After a few seconds more of staring at Bill blankly, you start to remove your clothing. Just as you are about to remove your panties his voice reaches your ears again. “Leave them on”.
You look at him and rub your thighs together, your panties damp with arousal. Bill comes closer to you and puts one hand on your shoulder to push you down “Be a good girl and suck my cock”
You get onto your knees and wait patiently for him to unbuckle his belt, you watch as his ring laden fingers pop open the button on his trousers and push them to the floor alongside his underwear. His cock, long and hard now revealed to you.
The sight of his cock has what one might describe as a Pavlovian effect on you, your pussy throbs with excitement and your mouth suddenly feels as though it has too much saliva. You lean forward and spit on your hand before enclosing his length in your fist, you run your hand up and down it, getting him harder with your hand. You bring your face closer and look up at Bill, his face expectant. “Well?” He asks.
You bring out your tongue and give the head of his cock a lick, Bill shudders and lets out a pleasurable moan, you grin before taking him slightly into your mouth, sucking on the tip like a lollipop. Bill starts to moan a bit louder, you take him deeper into the warm cavern that is your mouth. You bob your head up and down whilst using a hand to work the rest of him off as he has a rather generously sized cock. Bill puts a hand in your hair, his eyes are shut revelling in the pleasure that your mouth is giving him. “Yess, good girl” he hisses, trying not to succumb to the urge to just cum in your mouth.
After a few minutes, Bill pulls on your hair, you release him from your mouth and look up at him before whining in disappointment. “Up,” he says, you stand up slowly trying to adjust to the blood flow getting back to your feet after being on your knees.
Bill reaches down to help you and pulls you into his chest as you rise, “are you gonna be my good girl?” He asks with a smirk on his face, without giving you a second to reply he lifts you off of your feet and carries you to the bed, throwing you down and settling himself over you. Roughly, Bill pulls down your panties before chucking them across the room, he brings himself back up to your face grasping your jaw in one hand. Your pussy throbs as you stare into each other’s eyes.
Bill has the most beautiful blue eyes you’ve ever seen, the blue orbs a stark contrast to his ginger locks which are tied back in a bun at the back of his head. As you distract yourself with your boyfriend's beauty he sneaks a hand down to your pussy. You gasp as a lone finger suddenly fills your aching core, he pumps it in and out a few times before stopping causing you to squirm, “Bill, please” you whine.
Bill smirks and leans down to take a nipple in his mouth, he waits until you let out a little moan before releasing your nipple with a pop. Not wasting another second he pushes his cock into you, letting out a groan at how tightly you are gripping him, he starts with gentle thrusts before steadily speeding up. You can feel the tingle in your pussy and let out little moans every time Bill pushes back in.
As you get closer to your release Bill starts to slow down, he slows till you start to whine having been pulled away from the brink of orgasm. Bill moves one hand to rest next to your neck and continues slowly thrusting, he leans down and takes your ear lobe between his teeth for a second before letting go and pulling back to look into your eyes.
“So princess,” he starts “did you think it was fun to make me jealous?” he punctuates his sentence with a hard thrust causing you to let out a gasp.
“M’sorry” you whisper back at him.
“Sorry? So you don’t want me to be rough with you?” He asks with a smirk on his face, this time he ceases all movement. You whimper and buck up your hips to try and get him to move, he chuckles. “Look at you, acting like such a desperate slut” he starts to move again, this time with slow, hard thrusts.
“Is that good baby?” he asks
“Not enough” you whine back at him
“Not enough?” he asks “maybe my desperate whore would get what she wanted if she asked for it”
He wait to see if you respond before continuing, he looks you dead in the eye, “Tell me” he whispers huskily “tell me your dirty secret”
Without thinking you end up blurting out what you want, “want your hand on my neck”
Bill takes one hand and gently wraps it around the front of your neck, pressing down lightly at the sides. Bills rings feel cool against your skin, the cold metal a stark contrast to the heat of your sweaty body. You moan loudly and your pussy clenches around his cock drenching it even more.
Bill feels himself getting close from the grip you have on him so he starts to thrust harder “good girl” he hisses.
It feels like a dream, how could this delicious demanding man be your Bill, you are in such disbelief at how easy it was to get him to be rougher with you that the next words that fall from his mouth seem almost unreal.
“Touch yourself” he huffs out mid-thrust
You reach a hand down and start frantically rubbing your clit, desperate for release. You feel the tingle in your navel grow and your moans get louder. Bill senses that you are about to cum and presses down slightly against the sides of your neck pushing you over the edge. You see white and feel Bill release your neck as he gives a few more thrusts before releasing inside of you, he manages to stay on his arms long enough to pull out and drop down next to you.
Half asleep from the powerful orgasm you hear someone moving around the room, you let out a groan and shift slightly to get more comfortable.
“Shh baby” Bill whispers, he moves your legs to start cleaning you up and you let out a whine at being moved from your position. Bill gently strokes your cheek, “it’s okay, I’m just cleaning up the mess, good girl” He takes a wet cloth and carefully wipes up the mess between your legs.
The mattress shifts slightly as Bill returns to you, he pulls you into his chest and softly kisses your forehead, “my good girl” he whispers into the top of your head just as you drift off to sleep.
-
The soft glow of sunlight coming through the dusty old curtains is the first thing to greet you upon awakening. You stretch out your limbs which are sore from last night and try to roll over but find that you can’t due to the strong arm that Bill has wrapped around your torso.
Bill softly snores and you peer up at his face over your shoulder, his features even more beautiful in the glow of the morning sunshine. His skin has a pretty sheen to it, the freckles on his arms and face stand out against his pale skin.
Carefully so as not to awaken him, you slip out from under his arm. As you stand up you almost lose your balance and have to hold on to the edge of the bed to steady yourself. You notice Bill's shirt from the previous day abandoned on the floor so you pick it up and pull it on buttoning it up before shuffling out the door.
You head to the restroom and then start to make your way down to the kitchen, the trip taking almost twice as long as usual due to your aching muscles.
Finally, you get to the kitchen which is empty, you make yourself breakfast before sitting down. After a few minutes, you hear the floorboards creak signalling that someone is approaching the kitchen. The door creaks open and you are greeted by Sirius who is grinning from ear to ear, “morning love, wasn’t expecting to see you today”
You roll your eyes and finish your breakfast. You slowly stand up and make your way to the sink with your dishes, you lean against the counter after ridding yourself of them. “Soooo” begins Sirius, “how was it?” He leans against a nearby wall and takes a sip of his coffee waiting for your answer.
“Good” you respond not giving anything away
Sirius looks you up and down before putting his mug down and crossing the room to stand between your legs, he’s so close that you can feel his breath upon your cheek. You close your eyes as he brushes a strand of hair away from your face, you feel him shift away from you and as you open them again you find him softly smiling at you his eyes have a mischievous twinkle.
Sirius walks back towards the door pausing before turning back towards you. “I have a present for you” he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bottle, he throws it to you, you catch it. It’s a bottle of pain-relieving potion. He winks at you before leaving the room.

Chapter 4: Arguments
The rest of the afternoon passed as normal as the days before your arrival. Arthur Weasley made sure of it. Even if Molly attacked you with her dagger gaze when you and Bill hugged each other after you were done with dessert.
You didn’t know what Mr. Weasley had talked about with his wife while you were taking a shower, however, you noticed the tension rising from their bodies after you sat down at the table next to Bill and saw an annoyance sign on Molly’s lips. Her temple was frowned, reminding you of your own mother's gestures. Those flaming eyes, cleft chin, and pinion lips. Both women contract their features too much when they were upset and in your distress, you knew that they must not be disturbed.
The last thing you wanted was to hurt a marriage as solid as the Weasley's. More than once you heard your mother talk about it with your nanny making a powerful emphasis on how Molly and Arthur were able to carry out their marriage even if their economic conditions were precarious and the war was on their heels. They were an envied couple. Few dared to expand the family as much as they did without money in their pockets and spreading their progeny like a plague. No one was surprised, not even your mother, not when her marriage to Evan Grant was merely for financial advantage. Now Arthur and Molly looked upset, too upset for your understanding and you just hoped they could get along soon.
You weren't sure you deserved the sacrifice Bill's father had made for you, yet a flame of hope lit up in your chest. If Mr. Weasley started to trust you that was a good sign for others to do as well, right?
The afternoon continued as normal, seeing how Bill's plans to distract you from the fervent harassment of his mother was marred by the twins intervention. They had just finished a new product for their store and needed a good taster to certify the quality of their merchandise. It was a bad idea, he told himself, because twins were just a disaster and you didn't know them well enough to deny their good-natured pretensions.
"Be kind!" He yelled at them as Fred and George pulled you into their. Bill exhaled, pleading that his brothers wouldn't bother his girlfriend more than his mother already had.
Before taking you home, he thought about the pros and cons of your stay in the burrow. His conclusion was based on the fact that his entire family welcomed Harry Potter with open arms, so you didn't have to be the exception. He knew the difference in conditions in which his theory developed, yet he put his trust in the good judgment of his family even if the Grants' past left much to be desired. Bill didn't talk much about you with his mother, in fact, your presence at home was the last of his worries, the real problem came at the time of joining the Order of the Phoenix, would you be willing to fight against your relatives even if that mean betraying your own blood? Bill hope you will
Coming downstairs, Bill found his mother storing the leftover food in the fridge while the dishes soaked in the sink. Then he watched her clean each plate with her bare hands, no magic. William knew his anger was real.
"Want some help with that?"
"I'd love to, honey, thank you," his mother answered without looking at him. Bill raised the sleeves of his shirt to his elbows, dipping his hands into the tide of water and bubbles that flew across the kitchen. Molly was silent, drying the dishes and flying them to her place in the display case across the kitchen. Bill cleared his throat doubtfully "It never hurts to help, much less when I have so many things to do before the rest of the Order arrive"
"Don't worry, I'll help you with that too."
"Perfect"
"Mom, can we talk?"
"About what?
"You know what," Bill clicked his tongue, passing her the last plate from the sink to continue with the spoons. "(Y/N)..."
"Your father has scolded me enough about that girl, I don't need you to do it too"
"I wouldn't if you had a little consideration with her."
"More consideration?" Molly asked in a squeak. Bill shook his head. "I'm letting her stay at my home!"
"Our home, mom, ours," he corrected, drying his hands with a cloth. "This house also belongs to my dad, my brothers, and me. It's the burrow, a family property, not a secret club where some people can get in and others cannot."
"You know what I think of her"
"And you know I don't care." Molly looked scandalized at her son. She didn't understand what he had seen in someone like you or what you had given him to come out and defend you as he did "I don't ask you to love her, but at least you have to try...
"Have you ever wondered what will happen when she betrays us?"
"That's not gonna happen"
"You're very sure of that, William"
"I'm convinced, Mom. You don't know her like I do and, you know what? I see that wanting to talk to you was a mistake"
"Moody thinks like me," Molly stopped him when Bill was ready to go upstairs. The woman clung to the railing watching her son standing in the first step out of the kitchen "(Y/N) Grant is a danger to the Order"
"Really? Like Mundungus Fletcher? I beg your pardon, mom, but if there is anyone who represents a latent danger to the Order of the Phoenix, it's him and yet you have assigned him for the mission tonight"
Molly's lips parted and if it weren't for the fact that Bill knew her mother too well, he might think the woman was about to throw herself on the floor in a tantrum. Still, she clenched the bars tightly, her brow furrowed, and the redness on her cheeks washed over her forehead.
"William!" Don't talk to me like that!"
"I wouldn't if you had a little more respect for my girlfriend."
"Don't you understand? I care about you! For all of us!" She snarled angrily. "Having a Riddle in this house..."
"A Grant, mom, (Y/N) is a Grant and that's not the same." Bill descended his steps, approaching her mother, returning that angry look that she had inherited from him. It was a strange sensation. A dyad of emotions between joy and fear where the composed emotion was guilt. He had never exploded that way with his mother, but Molly hadn't behaved that way with anyone either "His grandfather is Lord Voldemort's half-brother and his brothers are all Death Eaters, what does it matter? (Y/N) is not. And when do we judge others by where they come from? If so, we could start with half of us. Being a Weasley is equivalent to being a blood traitor"
"William!"
Molly's face went from fury to shock to fury again. Bill's eyes were twinkling and Molly swore she had never seen any of her children this angry, or worse, this determined.
"What would you have done, Mom?" Bill questioned taking his mother by his arms in an attempt to make him feel her despair. Molly opened her eyes, scared. "When your family tell you not to accept dad? When your brothers object to your engagement, just 'cause the Weasleys have long been considered blood traitors?"
For the first time that day Molly's mind went blank, Bill guessed, rewinding the memories of how difficult it was for the Prewetts to accept the marriage. Bill pleaded silently, but pulled away from her when his mother gave no indication to be a little more respectful with you.
"We aren't like that. We don't separate people by where they come from, we hug them" Bill resumed his way towards the stairs, stopping a couple of steps up, turning to take a look at Molly's stunned figure "As you did with Hermione, Remus and Harry when you and Dad became his godparents after Sirius died. (Y/N) is no different"
"She will turn her back on us when the Order fight the Grants. That moment will come and you know it"
"Don't worry, i'll make sure that doesn't happen"
"She is not part of this family"
"That can be solved very easily," he said and the smile he wore gave her a terrible chill down her spine. "Because I'm going to ask her to be my wife."
Molly's gasp was the only thing Bill heard before climbing the stairs and heading to the twins' room. He always respected his mother a lot and even thinking of opposing to her wishes was inconceivable, but your well-being was something that was involved and Bill couldn't just let her mother control his life at her will. Maybe the mistake he made was not telling his parents the truth about you from the start or, in that case, mentioning that the woman he loved was the fucking niece of the strongest fucking dark wizard of all time.
Bill Weasley rubbed his face as he reached the twins' door. He no longer had to torment himself, it was done and the only thing pending at the moment was to get Harry out of his uncles' house, take him safely to the burrow and find the courage to do what he told his mother he would do.
Would you agree to marry him? He hoped so and if not, he wouldn't pressure you. You were young - even a little younger than him - and it would be understandable if you refused to tie your life to someone else's from one moment to the other. The war progressed every day and if you were going to do it, you would do it as soon as possible.
Loud laughings brought him out of his thoughts to observe you and his brothers sitting on the floor, right in the center of both beds, laughing at each other and touching your faces. From the doorway Bill can't see the full painted room, however George's face showed a rather abstract mural full of bright colors when he felt the presence of his older brother. Fred did the same showing his face in the same situation and then you turned to Bill, still laughing and your face smeared with paint. It seemed the twins had created a paint bomb in millimeter pills, that explode when you put a little bit of pressure. You tried to clean yourself with the sleeve of your sweater but you spread the paint even more. Fred and George laughed and so did Bill.
His heart swelled with love as he saw that at least someone in his family - besides him and his father - had hope in you. God, he may have even cried with happiness.
Bill never understood how a sunshine as beautiful as you was never accepted in your entire life.

What are some of your scenarios to fall asleep to? 👀
Ahhhh I’m glad you asked !! Also please feel free to share some of yours they can be specific or vague idc I’m in desperate need
I will be going into heavy detail because I can’t help myself I’m sorry and I will put in both normal ones and Harry Potter ones
Also this is just like one big ramble I’m sorry I got too excited I literally turned into that Tik tok sound where it’s like ‘you’re asking me about my theories? I’ve waited years for someone to ask me about my theories’
Update - I think I’m just going to keep updating this as well when I think of new ones because I keep forgetting some
My most recent one is a royalty one where they’re like royalty but in their really prestigious and royal school they were academic rivals and did not get along and after school they like try to go their separate ways until a couple years later their parents force them into an arranged marriage for like the good of the country or whatever I don’t really care!! You can take it wherever you want from there but in case you were interested in mine he fell for her first and kinda gave up on the enemies thing pretty early on but she still made it clear he wasn’t her favourite person and she despised the situation and there is still constant teasing until she meets his sister or friend or whoever who says that they can’t believe how happy he is with them and she feels so bad because she thinks he deserves better and ends up being much meaner to him because she’s an idiot who can’t express her emotions and he gets angry at her because she’s being super mean after they were just starting to get along and they have a big argument and are forced to talk about their feelings and then I can never decide whether they actually like each other when they get married, I feel like either way is fun
I have a thing for royalty so my other one is literally just princess x stable boy and you can honestly take that wherever you want but I will tell you where I took it for some ✨inspiration✨ so I don’t have my drivers license and get really bad driving anxiety so I self projected and made her terrified of riding horses right (I’m so smart I know) and he is like trying to help her ride the horse and feel comfortable and like obviously they end up in love but I created drama because she sneaks out to his birthday party (!!) but his friends don’t like her because they just think she’ll be a snob but he obviously defends her but like it’s a perfect opportunity for a bit of an innocent princess as well
My personal favourite is the two co stars falling in love and like thinking about doing all those stupid interviews from like buzzfeed and all that and I personally love the trying foods from different places thing (like making them try fairy bread - because I’m from Australia and we aren’t that cultured and being mad when they don’t like it because it is my favourite food) and it’s great because i can make the guy any actor I am currently obsessed with 😭 but also like the red carpet opportunities and interviews and fan reactions and it’s very fun also this keeps my brain very busy because I like making it as realistic as possible and figuring out the actors timeline so I can match the story up with it, it’s always really intense, also if you want inspiration for what moving they’re staring in I always go for the live action version of tangled even if I don’t look anything like rapunzel
Another fun one is where one of them is in a band and you have a friend who is dating one of the other members but you don’t like the band and you’re not shy in letting the other members know that and it turns into an enemies to lovers thing but I haven’t really developed it because halfway through I ended up changing it with the fact that they befriend one of the members and like fall for them but the band member like ‘gets around’ and it makes them jealous until they drunkingly confess it made them jealous this one’s a bit of a mess and is tipping into a 2012 wattpad story but it was how I got back into my 5sos phase two years ago because I felt icky about them but I’m still a slut for Calum 😭
Another one I love is moving abroad to study or whatever (idk I just always need a reason to be in America/Uk because there’s no one here in australia) and you make friends with someone who turns out to be related to someone really famous (insert whoever you want) and you meet them and you think they’re the hottest person you’ve ever seen and you get drunk to gain confidence to talk to them and you’re like unashamedly flirting with them and they think it’s cute and you’re funny but the whole little plot twist is that you don’t know they’re famous (famous people love that, trust me, I have about 10 wattpad stories in my library that can prove this) !! And the don’t believe you don’t know they’re famous !! Anyways I took it in a sugar daddy direction but each to their own!
Specifically for Harry Potter though, you ask?
Currently I am obsessed with Regulus Black and for about the past two weeks I’ve been obsessed with the idea of James potter sibling x regulus black enemies to lovers story and then about a week ago I found an actually good wattpad story about it?!?! (I have recommended it here with warnings but I really encourage you to read it if you’re not a minor) but you can also do your own version because I am still doing my own version and will continue to do my own version tonight even if I am obsessed with the wattpad one !! Currently I am up to post Hogwarts and her and regulus are trying to defeat Voldemort and regulus tells her that Peter is going to betray James and so ofc she tells James but James is like ‘how to do you even know this??’ And he is so afraid and gets angry at her and it’s really dramatic and she tells him she’s dating regulus and then he gets super mad at her because she’s dating like one of the most well known and loyal death eaters (even if regulus is sneakily trying to destroy Voldemort) and because he didn’t tell her and it’s very dramatic
My favourite Sirius black idea is also a James potters sibling one, but I never have any good ideas for it and just end up self projecting so if anyone has any ideas, I am begging you, please tell me !!!
My other Sirius black one is one I’ve been working on for like the last 4 years of my life and I probably should write it but who knows, but basically it’s a 10 things I hate about you x Harry Potter story where reader is about a year or so older than the marauders and she is like Kat Stratford (for people who haven’t watched it the best way to describe her is just an angry early 2000s feminist who is like anti dating and fun (kinda)) but she is Lily Evans sister!! And so Lily gets fed up of James constantly asking her out and makes an offhand comment that she’ll date him when her sister goes on a date with someone and James is like really?!? And Lily is like ‘sure’ because she knows her sister will never date anyone at Hogwarts so James tells the marauders and Remus is like ‘if anyone can take her on a date, it’s Sirius’ and Sirius is like ‘no, I’m stupid but not that stupid’ and James is like ‘please I’ll pay you’ and Sirius is easily bribed so he tries to get her to go on a date with him and like she doesn’t until she does and then finds out he only did it because James paid him but then they fall in love? Basically just 10 things I hate about you lol
My next one is with Draco Malfoy and all it is is that reader comes from a pure blood family and they’ve known each other since they were babies and it’s like basically destined they get married but she gets like really upset when he gets the mark which makes for a good cuddling and crying scene and like idk people are probably more creative than me but I just like reimagining scenes from hp but with this new character so like Poa when she gets angry at him about buckbeak or the bathroom scene (maybe she duels Harry?) and she’s so upset about Draco and comforts him, or helping him in sixth year and comforting him or the quidditch scene in the fifth book (weird note, but I’ve always headcannoned that my original character finds out about dumbledores army but doesn’t say anything and like the da knows she knows but she doesn’t tell Draco or maybe Draco finds out and gets angry at her?)
My other one is another Draco malfoy one where James and Lily live and she’s Harry’s younger sister (and Voldemort isn’t a thing) but like there’s still stereotypes and beliefs and such and like it’s obviously enemies to lovers and maybe they get prefect duties together ? (I am a sucker for this trope in Harry Potter) but then when they do date they try to hide it but Harry finds out but doesn’t say anything until they get into a fight at home and he is like ‘well at least I’m not fucking Draco malfoy behind everyone’s back) (in my head they aren’t fucking because they’re still in Hogwarts but you get the idea) and James and Lily are just like ‘WHAT?!’ Like idk I just think it’s funny imagining James and Lily finding out their kid is dating Draco and Lucius and narcissus finding out Draco is dating a potter - so many possibilities!
Update 6.10.21
I also have one for Charlie Weasley !! And basically you’re friends with the twins and like you go your whole Hogwarts life with the biggest crush on Charlie but like he low key doesn’t even know who you are and you want to become a healer and then after Hogwarts there is a position in Romania and you take it because you know Charlie’s there and at first he is like hmmm I think I know you and you explain you’re friends with the twins and obviously he falls in love with you I also took it in a nsfw direction where it’s like major innocence kink because Charlie is just such a dom to me and he like teaches you everything but he makes sure you’re happy and safe and it’s not really like serious sex you’re both just having fun and he kinda introduces you to dom/sub dynamics but you can do whatever is most comfortable

Winter In The Shade VI

The distant chatter in the common room was nothing but a melody that accompanied your soft humming, moving around the room as you got ready. You found yourself alone in your dorm, your roommates long gone by then. You danced around your bed, your feet softly moving to the rhythm or the song stuck in your head as you laid your outfit for the night over the bed, a smile appearing on your face with an approving look. It wasn’t nothing that would make you stand out, but by no means it was something you would wear on a normal day around the Castle. You put it on gently, walking to the mirror as your smile brightened, you looked beautiful. Something you felt confident in, comfortable to wear for the night. You fell to the chair in front of the mirror, getting the silver necklace that would finish off the look for the night.
One more look at your reflection and you stood, standing straight “You’ll have fun.” you said to yourself through the reflection “You’ll have fun and make memories.” Your smile fell, the knot in your stomach tightening as you said. “You’ll find Sirius, dance and forget all this ever happened.” But did you truly want to forget?
You couldn’t deny that Sirius’ request had filled you with excitement when you forced yourself to stop pretending you were upset. You weren’t upset in the slightest, quite the opposite, actually. You were angry at yourself for feeling the way you did, for liking the interactions with Sirius even after you had asked him to stop. You had rolled your eyes when he flashed you with smiles from across the hall, glared at him when he sent dangerous winks in your direction while standing next to Regulus, you had turned on him and walked away when he crossed your path and even yanked your hand from your side as he brushed his hand against yours while walking through the halls. But there was no denying the butterflies waking up in your stomach when he smiled at you, the skip in your heart beat when you found him looking at you or the way your hand wanted to reach for the warmth of his. You were a confusing mess filled with guilt, what kind of friend will that make you?
You shook the thought from your head, looking at you one last time in the mirror before you left for the stairs of your common room. This is exactly why you’re doing this, you reminded yourself, you’re being a good friend. You repeated in your head as you descended to the common room, stopping in your steps “Reg?” you asked with a laugh, your voice high as he turned at the sound of your voice “What are you doing here?” you asked, hoping he didn’t see your mind crashing inside your head.
“I thought I’ll come here and walk you to the party like a proper date.” he said, standing from the chair “Memories, remember?” he said, his features completely relaxed.
He wasn’t supposed to be there.
You smiled at him “You didn’t have to.” you said, awkwardly placing your hands over his shoulders “You had something to do, didn’t you?” you reminded him “A class or something.”
He shook his head, the corner of his mouth lifting ever so slightly “ I’ll have time for that later, I only have today with you.”
You tilted your head, looking up at him with a soft smile “Oh, Regulus.” you whispered, lowering your hands as you wrapped your arms around his waist, his arms instantly holding you against him “You really didn’t have to.” you muttered.
“I think my best friend is more important than my tasks.” he said.
You frowned “Tasks?” you asked, moving to look back at him.
“Nothing important,” he told you “Shall we?” he moved to offer you his arm, one you gladly took as he led you outside. Walking in silence for a couple of minutes before you turned to him “Who let you inside my common room?” you asked, squinting at him.
He raised his eyebrows with a shrug “Myself,” he said simply “Answering a riddle, really? No wonder everyone is in and out of that common room.”
“Regulus!” you said with a squeal “Not everyone can answer those. It takes skill.”
He scoffed, both of you standing at the doors of the Great Hall, his eyes lowering to look at you “It takes a brain and common sense.” he replied, glancing between you and the party inside; a smile drawing itself over his lips as he watched the glint in your eyes, the excitement shining through. “Ready?” he asked, giving your hand a soft squeeze.
You turned to him, the glistening in your eyes never faltering as your smile only grew, reaching your eyes “Let’s make memories, Reg.”
*******
“Would you calm down?” said James, his body leaning against one of the pillars of the Great hall, his hand lazily holding a drink as he took a sip from it, his eyes looking over the cup and towards Sirius and his incessant pacing “Y/N doesn’t struck me as one to promise things lightly.” he said, Sirius soft scoff making him roll his eyes with a smile “She’ll show up.”
James patted Sirius on the back, the motion breaking Sirius’ gaze from the entrance, a scoff leaving his lips as he let the weight of his body fall against the wall “You don’t know that.” he said, fingers fidgeting with the rings carefully placed on his fingers “What am I doing, Prongs?” he asked, a look of disbelief taking over his grey orbs.
James laughed, throwing his head back in the air as he went to stand next to Sirius “Quoting the same words you told me years ago,” he said, placing a hand on Sirius’ shoulder as “You are screwed.” he said, repeating the same words Sirius once told James when he first starting liking certain redhead girl.
Sirius covered his face, his words muffled by his hands “Save me.” he cried playfully, the laughs of the two best friends only increasing in the corner of the Great Hall they had taken for themselves.
“Nah.” said James with a bright smile “I don’t think I’ve seen you this happy in a while. Better take advantage of it.”
Sirius bit his lower lip, shaking his head as he let out a breathy laugh. The words he had on his lips dying right there with the commotion of Peter running straight to them, Remus standing by the door making wide signs with his arms to gather Sirius’s attention.
“She 's here.” Peter breathed out, doubling over himself as he rested both hands over his knees, trying to his breathing back. James took hold of his friend's arm, leading him to the side “You ran all over the Castle, didn't you…” But James’ voice faded in the distance, as everything that surrounded Sirius once he saw you entering the Great Hall.
You took slow steps towards the party, your gaze staying on the ceiling since the first moment you crossed the big wooden doors. Even with great distance separating the two of you he could see the way your eyes shone with excitement, your smile the brightest he had ever seen on your face, he made sure to save that exact picture of you in his head. Always bright, always you.
It wasn’t until you broke out of your trance that he turned to the person walking with you, to the person whose arm you clutched to like your life depended on it. He had forgotten, you had a date. It didn’t surprise him when his eyes found the face of his brother looking at you with that smile that seemed so unknown to him, so distant. Your face remained the same, an almost childlike excitement to your features as you started to point out things, letting go of his arm to take both Regulus’ hands in yours, making small movements in the air to the rhythm of the music.
He expected his brother to shake his head, let your hands fall from the air and cross his arms, only to hear the small chuckle that left his chest, his hand motioning to you to lead the way as you jumped slightly in your place.
As you turned your body, your eyes caught sight of the older Black sibling, your features falling into softer ones while taking a firm hold of Regulus hand, a smile was drawn over your lips, one only Sirius could see as you walked an disappeared into the crowd
“What are you doing?” Remus snapped his fingers in front of Sirius, his face turning with a haze in his eyes “You were supposed to do something!” said Remus, his hands pointing wildly to the spot you stood a fraction of a second before.
Sirius nodded his head slowly, his eyes focusing on his friend “The party had just begun, Moony.” he said confidently “The night’s still young.”

You led Regulus through the crowd, your feet moving to the rhythm of the music as you reached a more secluded place. It still had some students there enjoying the party but it was nothing like the main Hall where all the crowd was gathered.
“You promised me something long ago.” you said, lowering your head to meet his eyes.
“Did I?” he asked playfully, but still you could see the gears inside his head working to remember what he had promised, his silence a confirmation he had reached to nothing.
“You promised you would teach me how to dance.” you said.
His eyes opened wide, turning back to the ongoing party “You want me to show you how to dance right now?” He asked “During the party?”
“Yes!”
He took one hesitant look back at the party, the safe place where you two stood now almost making him refuse your request but one look at you it’s all it took for him to give in.
He offered his hand and you took it with a squeal, making him chuckle “It’s not even the right music, you know?”
“Does it matter?” you asked him.
A grin was plastered on his face, placing himself in front of you “It has never stopped me before.”
You smiled up at him, placing one hand over his shoulder as he took your free hand, his other hand firmly placed over your waist. “Ready?” he asked.
“Ready.” you said with a nod.
To say you learned how to dance would be a complete lie. He spent probably five minutes teaching how to dance before you both got distracted. In the end you ended up dancing to however your body felt the music, swinging your arms together in the air as he made you twirl, most of the time making you a dizzy chuckling mess. The Great Hall was left behind at some point, leaving the party and the crowd to be on its own as you and Regulus escaped to your own world. Laughter and quick footsteps echoed through the halls of Hogwarts, running as you chased each other around until you both could no longer breath properly.
Your bodies rested against the cold stone walls, letting it fall to the floor with your chest heaving at a rapid pace.
“That was fun.” Regulus said.
You chuckled, turning to him with a smile that in no way could compare to the one he had on his own face. He had his head thrown back, resting comfortably against the wall, he had his eyes closed and a smile adorning his lips. He looked peaceful.
“It was.” you whispered.
“Regulus.”
You snapped your eyes up, meeting a bored look in the boy in front of you He never stopped to acknowledge your presence, his eyes lingering on your friend as he jumped to his feet. You copied his movements, but he moved to stand in front of you, covering your body with his.
“Severus.” Regulus said back, his calm voice a contradiction to his reaction.
The boy paid you no mind, blinking slowly at Regulus “We’ve been looking for you.” he said, his voice low. “We didn’t see you tonight.”
“I was busy.” Regulus said with no further explanation. You tried to move away from behind his body, his arm stopping you before you could move.
Severus glanced at you briefly, his face remaining the same “I can see that,” he said “Still, I will advise you to sort out your priorities.”
Regulus face turned, his fists clenched at his sides “They’re sorted out, I can assure you.” he said through gritted teeth.
Again, you tried to move out from the small space Regulus had you in, looking over his shoulder to see Severus turned and walk away, not once looking back.
“What in Merlin’s name was that?” you asked in disbelief, letting out the breath you had been holding as you turned to meet Regulus’ gaze “Reg?” you asked when he stared into the distance, his eyes following the path Severus went.
“Nothing.” he said, putting on a smile.
“What was that?” you asked again, your eyes filled with worry.
“They were helping me before, nothing important.”
You turned, blinking rapidly at him “Not important?” you asked with a string of voice “He seemed ready to drag you with him.”
“He did.” he muttered, looking back “Y/N, do you think... “ he said, his words trailing off as you tilted your head, getting what he was asking.
“Oh,” you said, watching as he scrunched his eyebrows in worry “No, it’s fine. You go. It’s already late, I should go to bed anyway.” you smiled at him, a reassuring look on your face.
“Are you sure?” he asked again “I can walk you to your dorm…”
“No!” you said, your smile tightening as his frown deepened “I can go there myself. You should go before they send someone scarier.” you laughed.
He took your hand and gave it a squeeze “I’ll see you tomorrow before I leave, alright?”
You nodded, holding onto his hand as he started to walk away, his face turning back to you “Thank you for tonight, Reg.” you said, pulling his body to you as you hugged him.
His arms snaked around you, holding you close to him as he placed a soft kiss at the crown of your head “See you tomorrow.” he whispered.
Your hand stretched holding onto his until the distance made your hand fall, your eyes following him before he disappeared in the distance. You stood there for a couple of minutes, your mind racing over the last couple of minutes and the heaviness that had settled on your heart. You shook your head of all the worry, taking a deep breath before you turned back, starting your way back to the Great Hall.
You owed Sirius a dance.
