are you a "maybe i got all of this trauma because I'm going to be the charismatic and funny character of a found family sitcom once i'm in my 20s and people will do edits of me with the songs american boy or lovefool" neurodivergent teenager or a "maybe i got all this trauma because i'm going to be the silly character from a rhythm idol game who will have the best events and songs and cards and people will use me as their twitter pfps" neurodivergent teenager
I love putting Goro Akechi merch on my work bag because his school uniform design is both foreign and yet generic enough to be mistaken for almost anyone else.
An incomplete list of comments I’ve gotten:
“Isn’t that the kid from Diary of a Wimpy Kid?”
“Peni Parker from Spiderverse, right? My son loves those!”
Decided to check out the audio drama Fawx & Stallion this weekend and GUYS... guys this show is SO FUNNY. I couldn't stop laughing for the first three episodes straight.
It's the story of some wannabe detectives living in Victorian London. Specifically, they live at 224B Baker Street, just across the street from a certain pair of decidedly more famous detectives--and they're sick and tired of having all their potential cases scooped by Sherlock Fucking Holmes. Luckily for them, while Holmes and Watson are out of town looking into some matter about a dog, a new case comes along and drops--by default--into our would-be heroes' laps.
And just who are these aspiring crime-solvers?
Hampton Fawx: detective and gentleman. What he lacks in common sense he makes up for with raw theater-kid enthusiasm.
James Stallion: gentleman and detective. A loyal friend and companion when he's not being a self-important arse. Runs on approximately 20% gin and 80% spite.
and finally Madge: neither gentleman nor detective. She's just been stood up by her date and she's going to make that everyone else's problem. She'll agree to help on this case just for the Drama.
It's a hysterical romp so far. A lighthearted farce set just offscreen from Holmes' own capers (for now!). Our main trio lacks even a single braincell to share between them, but by GOD they're going to solve this case and I'm going to be cheering them on the whole way there!
From what I can tell, new episodes are typically every other Monday, but the show's on a short hiatus for the holidays, to return in 2023. The first five are currently available to listen to, though, and I highly recommend it!
friends cast au: in which the O6 are actors in a wildly popular sitcom and to prevent Trouble, their contracts include a no romance clause.
it's pretty much common knowledge on the set that lardo and shitty have toyed with that line before without really crossing it (?), but what people don't know is that for years bitty's been harboring a persistent crush on jack; one of his best friends, his co-worker, the man he shared an apartment with during the first year of the show.
what is even less well known is jack's crush on bitty. in fact, it is so unknown that jack doesn't even know about it. he just chalks up the fact that he had no desire to date since being casted to the fact that he practically lives on set, is so dedicated to his career, and the no romance clause forbids him from dating anyone he meets at work.
but after six successful seasons the series finale is fast approaching, and with it the inevitable end of an era. everybody on hollywood says they'll keep in touch, but bitty knows full well how infrequently they keep that word. now that their contract is reaching its conclusion, will bitty make a move? will jack figure out his own feelings? or will they both move on to other projects and become just another person they used to be friends with?
Prior to Headbangers Ball (which began in 1987) MTV had an all-metal videos show called Heavy Metal Mania, hosted by Dee Snider from Twisted Sister. Apparently it aired monthly, beginning in June 1985, but it's really hard to find out more than that - a lot of links I've found just lead back to its longer-running successor, Headbangers Ball, which is no good to me when writing a Stranger Things AU where Steve and Eddie fall in love in summer 1985. I want them to watch it on TV together, at Steve's house because he has cable (the Munsons can't afford it), but I can't find out anything about the times and dates it aired, and I don't know whether MTV repeated it in between times or you could see it only on that monthly date, and I also know it doesn't matter and I haven't even specified in the story what date it is other than sometime in July at the moment... but I just wish I could find out because it would be even more satisfying if I knew it was correct.
Anyway they'll enjoy the show together. Cuddling on Steve's couch. It will be nice.
The cuddling will be disrupted any time a really good song comes on and Eddie needs to thrash around to it, but they'll get back to it.
