hey more experienced modders, is there a better way to give an npc custom textures than using skins in the ck? i want the body textures to stay when i put armor that may be incompatible with my custom preset, but i don't want to have to make edits in nifskope/patches for the mod for each individual piece of armor.
thank you!

Thinking about how Sorayne doesn't want to risk Khash's life so early on when Mirmulnir attacks the Whiterun Watchtower. However, she can't really create a good argument besides "dragons are dangerous" without revealing, yes she's fought dragons before. Yes that means she's from atleast the early third era.
So, she let's Khash go with them under the condition that she stays near Sorayne.

What mods do you use for your player character's appearance in Skyrim? She looks so cute!
Aww Thank you!
Here's a list of mods I use for her facial appearance
High Poly Head (Vector plus)
Racemenu
Koralina brows
Even more eyes by Koralina
Bijin skin
FRECKLES - racemenu overlay collection
Koralina's makeup tweaks
Even more makeup
Shiny ENB eyebrows begone
Dint999 hair (patreon)
ENB Visceral (not technically for appearance but helps a lot)
ECE ear shape sliders for racemenu
I think that's all of them. They are mostly found on nexus unless stated otherwise. Calliope uses the first vanilla breton preset that comes with the game. I just edited it quite a bit in sculpt, but that first preset has a very good nose
tips for racemenu nobody asked for but here it is anyway because I just can't help myself apparently
Don't skip on the chin/eyes/forehead/nose colours - adding these gives life to the skin and stops skin looking flat, just go very LIGHTLY on it
layer very light freckles all over the skin in a shade a tiny bit darker than your skintone then do it again for a different pattern of freckles slightly darker than that. You want to BARELY see them. What this will do will add texture to the skin (like pores if the skin you use doesn't have a lot of texture) so it looks more realistic
Pick a preset you want to base you character on on one characteristic you're not very good at sculpting/changing. For instance I find noses complicated, so I find a preset with a good nose I want that I don't have to change much and just change everything else
Noses are shorter and the bridge is wider than you think on the face, If you struggle with face proportions check to see if you made the nose too long and thin
#skyrim#mod list#oc calliope#sorry for the tips actually#but i wrote them out now#so if it helps it helps#but feel free to ignore

blender -> nifskope -> in-game
aaaand it's (pretty much) done. First ever done from scratch skyrim asset. i could say i learned blender for this but in fact i wanted to learn blender and this just became the first real 'project'.
#the texturing on the teeth is not great but i had so many problems with the bake there that i just gave up tbh#wanted to have the tips worn but only on some it really works#also not super low poly model because retopology is hard and i had shading issues on my original retopology#what will i make next......#on the one hand the possibilities are endless#on the other i might benefit from learning some more basic skills instead of messing about & googling when i get really really stuck#with guest appearance#oc: yeval#skyrim modding#sweet potato modding tag

So. Veilguard impressions so far (I’m about 13.5 hours in). Most of these are mechanical as I don’t feel like I’ve gotten enough time with the companions/story to have many opinions on it, but I feel like I at least have some opinions worth noting lmao (mostly no spoilers but like. Maybe a little so read at your own discretion)
Things I like:
I’m honestly still shocked my computer can actually run it and overall very well too
Character creator is super detailed, I love that
I keep falling off of ledges lmfao so I’m glad there’s no penalty for that
You can pet all the cats and dogs!!!!!
Also love that there’s no carry weight to contend with but I still get to pick up a ton of random items. It satisfies by urge to pick up anything that isn’t nailed down. This is great, especially after bg3 sksks (which I also enjoy as a game but pls why does gold have weight 😭)
So far I like the new companions a lot and I do enjoy these early game little almost… domestic? Or just small scale? Quests you have with them? Idk I dig it. I wasn’t sure about the ‘bond’ thing at first but on further reflection I like that you can gain approval-equivalent just by bringing them along. Makes things easier
I don’t dislike the vibes tbh like I’ve seen people say ‘oh it’s too happy and positive’ and like. Okay yeah 2 of the 3 companions you recruit early on are very bubbly but we also got blight horror all over the place so idk, maybe this is a complaint I’ll understand later but right now I don’t agree with it
Oh and I love the lantern system for when companions have dialogue - it’s a clever way of signifying when they’re all in different buildings
Things I don’t like:
I kinda get what people are saying about the handholding. Why do I need a little tip to tell me ‘[companion] has noted that you told them [thing you just said]’ 😭
Also while the new companions are fun, I do think Harding got hit pretty hard with ‘previous game lore dump’ duty cause damn. Admittedly I don’t remember her personality in inquisition super well but a lot of her dialogue just feels. Off in that way. I get it was necessary to do it somehow but. Oof. I feel bad for her cause it makes me less interested in her 😔
This is minor but I don’t like how when you load a save, it’s not actually where you saved. It’s at the last fast travel point. So it’s like. I found this hard-to-find spot last night. Saved. Planned to continue the quest the next day. Except! I have to find the spot again! And I forgot where it was! Why!!! This is absolutely a remnant of when it was a live service game but woof, why keep that in
Also bringing back the 100 save limit - actual worst feature of inquisition, why the hell would they keep it 💀 if anyone knows a mod to fix this, pls let me know, I need to have like 800 saves per run or I’ll die okay
And this is the big one tbh. I’m sorry but I really don’t like the combat 😶 like. Every boss fight is just the arishok fight except with help. Getting Lucanis has given some improvement cause now there’s at least another melee target on the field but at this point, I’m looking for a stealth option on that giant skill tree (why is it so big! I have no idea what I’m doing with it!!!) so I can go full skyrim (stealth archer) lmao. I’m hoping when I actually get to recruit a warrior (why is this the last class you get, that feels backwards), it’ll get more playable cause I’ll actually have a tank. Right now I just cannot understand why everyone says this is fun, I have had pretty much no fun in any of the fights (I’m becoming the person I was poking fun at before when I said it’s weird to play games if you don’t like half of it skskdk. Also ngl I would not be powering through if this were not a game I already had a vested interest in). Also how did anyone play a mage and make it through the first 10 hours, like I have NO idea. I’m very glad I didn’t, it’s hard enough with a rogue
Neutral observations/thoughts:
I’ve decided to play rook as like. A discount version of hawke? Cause I feel like that’s the kind of person varric would seek out, like a spark of the familiar is what drew Varric to them. And that’s adding a bit of fun headcanon flavour
(Also I have some suspicions that things are not as they seem with Varric but. We’ll see on that I suppose)
Also it’s funny cause I’ve always been a Solas neutral person (like him well enough but never understood why he was such a big deal to either the lovers or the haters). But I do find him more annoying here lmao. Maybe cause I’m rping too hard and Rook finds him annoying but I just think it’s funny
Also genuinely could not imagine this being someone’s first DA game sksks they are going to have no idea what’s going on lore-wise
#these are just my thoughts#obviously everyone’s going to havw different opinions#the combat though… idk I’m beginning to wonder if I’m doing something wrong cause#I really really do not like it I’m sorry 😶#but hopefully the companions and story can make up for it#I hope rook gets hit with the Agonies at some point lmao protagonists going through hell is the best part#really excited for that#text#shut up nerd#dragon age#veilguard#veilguard spoilers

do you have any tips for like, how to deal with enjoying something in a fandom and pcm way?
(Since I’m going a grimoire page on this) Mostly just intent and what you do. Like for example say with a game like Skyrim, the difference between me doing a devotional playthrough or a research run vs. being a menace and messing with mods and console commands is intent. One run because I want to learn more about say Paartunax and the role of dragon worship in canon and the other cause I want to no-scope Grelod the Kind over Bard’s leap
For another example think of it like one water source like a dam, and two channels. One gets funneled into one thing, the other to another, maybe some spillover here and there between the two, but how the flow is controlled in this case would be up to you and if you wanna you can work on fueling it down both channels, just may take a bit more energy

im just gonna come off anon, i was the one asking about the smoothness of mods/a skin mod with body hair for women. thank you for the link and replies! ive used salt and wind for a while - not sure if i'm misreading, do you have any issues with it? i love your mods and mod list posts, i was on a skyrim hiatus for a while and am going back to complete vanilla for one playthrough before i go extreme modding again. lastly, ive wanted to get into modding for a while, do you have any tips?
oh, i don't really have issues with it and generally like it a lot, but I do wonder if a rougher texture would pair better with the hair meshes I've been using lately.
On modding, this gets kinda long so
Do you mean getting started on using mods? I've only ever used Mod Organizer 2 and its predecessors, so I am biased, but like it has everything I want and more so I have to recommend it over Vortex for mod managers. It's great being able to see when your mod has conflicts and with which other mods with a click. Also, it has LOOT built in, for some basic mod sorting needs, and separators so you can get your mods grouped up how you like them.
For getting stuff set up: GamerPoets' channel.
In general, I also recommend generating a bashed patch with WryeBash once you have your load order figured out. It automatically patches a lot of stuff (it isn't infallible, but it is better than nothing.)
The biggest thing I can say that helps in modding (besides very carefully reading mod descriptions) is learning how to use SSE Edit. You can find/solve most mod conflicts with it alone. Here is a guide on it that seems pretty solid.
If you mean actually making mods, well, learning SSE Edit is also probably the first step in that journey as well! It's best used for simple patches imo, once you have the basics of the Creation Kit down most stuff is easier to do with it.
On using the Creation Kit: DarkFox127 has an excellent tutorial series on it. I also have to sing the praises of Creation Kit Platform Extended: it has made the buggy, crash-prone CK run smooth as butter for me.
A few other tools that are helpful to be familiar with:
NifSkope: lets you view meshes, makes it easy to change textures directly on the mesh.
Outfit Studio: meant for editing Outfit meshes, but also helpful for basically any other kind of mesh editing.
Some MO2 addons I like:
Sync Plugins: lets you sync the plugins (right) pane order with the file (left) pane order. I think it's simplest to keep the files in the order I want to load them in.
Nif Preview: when you have conflicting meshes, this addon lets you actually see the meshes with a click.
Then I guess lastly is the area I'm most experienced with, NPC appearance editing. I use a method that lets me use appearances made with RaceMenu in game, instead of generating them through the CK. I made a tutorial for it here.
Hopefully some of this is helpful!

So I finished Veil Guard.
I don't think it's nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be. I will say I do prefer Inquisition, I think it has more replay value for me personally and I don't think I'll be replaying Veil Guard. I'm going to give a short little review/pros and cons list before talking about how Veil Guard will effect "So Far Away". This will contain spoilers for VG so if you haven't finished the game then all you need to know is that while the game did confirm some of my theories not all of the lore will be canon in my universe.
I think Veil Guard was ok. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible either. I don't think I connected with it as much as Inquisition, especially with the companions. A lot of the decisions game play wise were fine, I just happen to prefer Inquisition's approach.
Like Combat. I was a female Qunari Mage Veil Jumper. The orb and dagger thing was cool. The fact that your companions were immortal was a convenient thing and the combos were cool but I preferred the tactical map and being able to switch between any of my three companions. I wouldn't call VG's combat system a pro or con, at least for me, just that I prefer Inquisition.
Pros:
Character Creation was amazing. I loved all the hair models and hair physics. The sheer amount of customization possible with this game was amazing. The tattoos, scars and makeup. It's those extra cosmetics that can tip the scale in character customization for me. If they don't have those options I usually start looking for mods. You've seen my Evelyn Trevelyan? My Skyrim is modded so much more than my DAI.
The parkour stuff was really good. I'm sure we all remember trying to jump up mountains in Inquisition. VG was much easier to navigate and I loved being able to actually climb stuff, walk across beams and do the ziplines. It was really cool.
The LORE! Seeing the Dread Wolf's regrets with everything like that was amazing! I had theorized that Solas was a spirit that Mythal had either asked or forced to take a solid form. I will say I did not see it coming that they basically created the Blight and sundered the Titans. That was an epic surprise.
The Graphics in this game were gorgeous. Kind of expected considering this game came out ten years after DAI but still. Especially that final mission? Felt like I was watching a movie, seeing Solas in his Dread Wolf form fighting that Arch Demon.
Now time for the cons
Almost no Previous Choices carry over to this game: I'm not saying who I selected to rule Orlais had to be taken into consideration. We are playing in the northern half of Thedas right now and the Orlesian Empire doesn't matter to our goals. But if you chose mages/templars and who you selected as Divine. I know mages are treated better in the north in places like Tevinter or Rivain. Who drank the Well would've also been important. What choices you made with your companions and the like. It would've no doubt changed Solas's opinion on the Inquisitor but I think that would've been great.
Mythal I feel wasn't criticized nearly as much as Solas. I think it would've been cooler if she was eventually revealed as another villain. She kept asking more and more of Solas, requesting that he do horrible things. Remember Flemeth in DAI saying that she wanted a reckoning that would shake the Heavens? What if she was corrupted not by the Blight but by her rage and thirst for revenge? She tried to reason with all of them and they murdered her. Maybe she would've helped us like Solas, making it seem like Solas would betray us but in the end it is she who uses us and Solas as pawns to kill the Evanuris before she attempts to remake the world or some other evil thing? There is a quote in Inquisition about Solas "burning her off his face" meaning Vallaslin and that he was once Mythal's slave. Morrigan also had Mythal inside her after having refused it since Origins (even if she doesn't know it was Mythal) felt like a betrayal to her character. What if Mythal forcibly over took her body or something? Anyways, not super happy with where they went with Mythal but it's not like it ruined the game for me.
Vallaslin and Tevinter Slaves are never really mentioned. I know we see slaves around the Venatori but slavery is legal in Tevinter. In Minrathous, the capital city? There should be slaves EVERYWHERE! Slavery is a massive part of Tevinter and it's only barely touched on. Could've had some missions with the Shadow Dragons that involve freeing slaves. Also, Vallaslin are slave markings, known as blood writting. They were to denote which god the master favored. It would've been amazing to have had the gods use the vallaslin to control elves marked for them. I think Davrin was marked for Ghilan'nain? Imagine if she had seized control of Davrin and forced him to fight us? Maybe what could've made him snap out of it was if Ghilan'nain tried to force him to hurt Assan?
Solavellan ending felt... dry? They haven't seen each other in ten years and all we get is this super gentle kiss from a man who kissed Lavellan like he was drowning? Solas didn't even walk holding hands with her into the Veil/Fade/Mystery Portal? He also didn't really apologize to Lavellan? I was expecting a much more emotional reunion. I knew we wouldn't get to have them live in a nice little cottage in the woods at the end and that they were running with the 'in another world' thing which makes their reunion kind of bitter sweet but it still didn't feel emotional enough. I did not wait this many years for a tiny kiss and not even a true hug. I'm not even super into Solas x Lavellan anymore because I think I read it so much I'm now like "let the other races have a chance with the wolf" and I love cross race pairings. Culture sharing and struggles is one of my favorite tropes. Plus it makes Solas's convictions even harder because he fell for someone who isn't even one of the people.
I'm sure if I wanted to I could think of more stuff for each list but I just finished the game last night and frankly, I probably won't play it again. If I want to see alternate dialogue and choices i can just look them up on YouTube when people inevitably upload them.
Now, onto how this game will effect my writing for So Far Away.
A lot of the theories I had before this game came out ended up being proven true so like with Solas not meaning for the prison for the gods to sunder the elves or how he was originally a spirit who didn't want to become flesh. The reveal won't change that, i had always intended for that to be the case in my story.
The reveal of the blight was a surprise and I think it is super cool, but I don't think I will have that in my story. Not only did I not plan on having the Blight be created by Solas/Mythal but I don't really see the Blight popping up in my story. Because of that i don't really plan on coming up with an alternative origin for it? It was just always there. Some kind of darkness in Thedas. Like I said, don't think I need to come up with an explanation for something that won't effect my story.
I also don't plan on including the Lighthouse. Just assume if it wasn't in Inquisition it probably won't be there because I never read the books or comics.
My story is obviously an AU I created before VG came out so while I may take some inspiration from this and may even have some character cameos from Veil Guard (You can't tell me Solas and Emmerich wouldn't be the best of buddies) It won't really change what I plan on for my story.
I haven't been writing because of job hunting and playing Veil Guard but I've found a job and finished the game. The chapter is more than half way done. i should post it soon. Anyways, thanks for reading my thoughts and please make sure to check out my Solas x Trevelyan political marriage au if you're reading this and haven't yet for some reason.
Love you guys!

Hi!! For the 1k follower event, could I request Skyrim Teldryn Sero PDA?
Thankyou!!
(I may or may not send more requests)
AH! Teldryn! My beloved! I love that cocky and charismatic mercenary. It’s seriously a crime that he isn’t a romance option in base game. I’d select him over my usual option (Farkas) every time if he was. Sigh. Proceeds to go look at mods.
(And you may absolutely send in more requests)
Word Count: 653
ao3 // 1k follower event masterlist // main masterlist
PDA is usually defined as any sort of intimacy that revolves around hand holding, kissing, touching, etc, but I’d argue that affection is a broad term that can be applied to many areas.
For inns, taverns, or anything involving drink and a good time, Teldryn needs to be right next to you. He will keep one hand on your thigh—nowhere else. Not the knee, or an arm around your shoulder. It has to be the thigh. A hand on the thigh is a sign of ownership. It is a clear message to everyone else in the room to stay away. He might be smiling and enjoying himself, but he’s always aware of where his hand needs to be.
If there is music, and he’s had a few drinks, Teldryn is up for a bit of dancing. He likes it because he can be close to you, and for him, it’s like the two of you are in your own little bubble. Doesn’t matter if the place is packed or completely empty. It’s a different kind of intimacy you just can’t get when you’re on the road. With this, he might be more forward, more willing to place his hands in places that might be publicly deemed lewd.
Teldryn will not grab or kiss you roughly in front of others. He might do it to annoy you or tease, but not because he enjoys it. He prefers the softer touches and displays of affection. He’ll slide his arm around your waist and tuck you close. In a dark corner, he’ll lean in and whisper your name to draw your attention to him, only to greet your response with a kiss.
In times of relaxation, whether at an inn or inside a shop, if he’s not occupied with something, Teldryn will be close to you. Not on top of you or stepping on your feet, but within range in case you need anything. As he’s perusing a shelf or admiring weapons on the wall, Teldryn may reach out, seeking you, only to briefly connect before drawing away again. It could be as small as the tips of his fingers brushing against your arm or his palm on your back.
While Teldryn is cocky, he doesn’t need to flaunt anything to prove that he cares about you. He is confident, and he knows where the two of you stand. Teldryn won’t strut around like a colorful bird. He will stand tall and yet completely relaxed. There might be a swagger in his step when he walks around with you in public, but it’s subdued, more of a delighted kick in his step.
Public displays of affection that include kisses, hugs, and touching are completely on the table. Teldryn won’t say no to those if you ask, and he will ask for them in return. At an inn or tavern, and only after several drinks, he might be very handsy, even going so far as to pull you in his lap. A few drinks can break that demeanor and make him ravenous.
Teldryn prefers placing his hand on your lower back over holding hands.
Teldryn likes to hold hands only when the two of you are stationary or standing next to each other.
He prefers subtle, sweet kisses over messy ones. Teldryn saves those for when the two of you are alone.
Loves toying with your hair, and rubbing your back when he thinks no one is looking.
Is always willing to do a bit more if he believes the two of you won’t be caught.
Hand-feeding you or serving you food is mandatory and he considers it an honor. And no, you will not go to the bar to order your own drink. Teldryn will do it for you.
PDA can also mean “Public Displays of Annoyance” because Teldryn would absolutely show you public affection by teasing you until you’re completely annoyed with his presence.

pro tip for anyone out there who for some reason *really* wants to lose absolutely massive numbers of hours of their life and especially sleep without even noticing. try modding skyrim. its slow. its hard. but it IS free.
#genuinely have spent. like. 50(?) hours over the past 4 days#getting seasons and a flora mod to play together right. which. sounds insane given how short that list is but.#i have learned a lot of modding terms #i would now feel comfortable manually swapping files Inside a mod or mod patch.#which i may have to do given that the ground in riften isnt swapping out in winter and i *SHOULD* just be able to duplicate the ground-#-texture from the exterior then rename it to the riften winter ground name and load it on top of seasonal landscapes#which. im still a little iffy on the jargon but i think would just be making my own patch.#since its not any other mod overruling (i used more informative console to check) its just Not being overridden by anything In Winter#when i get home from work im gonna learn dyndolod properly and generate terrain and tree LODS#AND. grass caches! for performance but also for LODs :)#(LODs are low-res billboards put in place in distant areas so its not blank space (minecraft eg does not have LODs so the world just ends))#and rn my LOADED area is seasonal. but my distant areas are VANILLA. so the ground is all wrong and in the rift is a wall of yellow trees.#so i need new LODs.#my posts

Do you play modded Morrowind? And if so what mods would you recommend for a first time player?
I’ve been keen on playing for a while (I believe I mentioned Dagoth Ur visiting me in a dream and telling me to play Morrowind) but I’m not touching the unintuitive mess of polygons that is the base game with a thirty foot pole. I’ve beaten both Skyrim and Oblivion, vanilla and modded, and am curious about mods that would improve the graphics and gameplay specifically.
Honestly the gameplay of Morrowind is not that difficult. It gets a reputation for being impossible bc of ppl not rly looking up manuals and games not coming with them anymore. But I’ll give some tips:
You need to manage fatigue. Unlike in say, skyrim, your fatigue informs a lot of stuff and will be used up by anything from running to swinging your weapon. If you’re low on fatigue you won’t be able to hit anything (much like how if you have low magicka you can’t really use spells as well). Keeping stamina up will ensure you can hit things. Walk places and try not to jump everywhere (running around and jumping in cities is usually fine and will help you level up athletics and shit. Just don’t do that and break the law)
Do not spam attack. Trust me I also love doing this but it’s ineffective. Hold down the mouse button to charge attacks to increase damage, which will be more economical for stamina benefit. Done weapons have dif kinds of attacks, and with spears having a bit of distance will increase your damage.
If you’re playing a mage, get comfortable with spell making. Pretty much every spell merchant will have an option to make custom spells. Once you buy a spell to learn that effect you can make spells and enchantments with it.
There are no map markers sadly. Have the UESP up on your phone, they’ll provide guides and they have a map of Vvardenfell that’s rly good. Sometimes the directions in Morrowind suck but usually they’re bad on purpose. Because ppl in Morrowind can be assholes and they want you to fuck off and die. I have a god awful sense of direction but tbh I’ve gotten the hang of Vvardenfell. There’s also local maps that can be useful. The only place I can’t fucking find easily is this one ashlanders tomb you’re sent on to get the bow for the msq it’s insufferably annoying to find. Otherwise places are on some kind of path most of the time.
Pick a race that matches the skills you want and pick skills you plan to use. You can min max or make weird challenging builds like a nord wizard when you’ve gotten the hang of it. Dunmer are good overall builds that incorporate both magicka and melee. If you hate your build you can use console commands on pc to redo your race and skills. (Only once per session, if you wanna do it again save your game, quit, and reload)
Factions have skill requirements. You’ll have to be good at magic to be a mage and good at fighting in the fighter’s guild. Some factions are also mutually exclusive. Pick factions with skills you want to use
Stealing sucks in this game. I’m not gonna lie it really sucks imo
Npcs and enemies can’t go thru doors
There is no map based easy fast travel. However there are silt striders, boats, the mages guide, mark and recall spells, and intervention spells. ALMSIVI intervention takes you to the nearest tribunal temple, divine intervention takes you to the nearest imperial cult shrine, mark you set a location and recall you go back to it. The spells you can also get on amulets or other items. You can use these in combat to bail
Enchanted items recharge over time
Alteration is my favorite school of magic in Morrowind. You can levitate (needed for Telvanni towers and makes getting around vivec city easier) and walk on water and water breathe.
There’s no leveled loot or enemies really. If enemies are too hard in a location you either new dif gear or need to level up more.
You can soup trap your own summons. And summon multiple things at once. Conjugation can be really fun. Typically you can only have one summons of a type at a time but you can get multiples of you like cast a spell and also use an item
Containers have limits to how much they can hold. Dead bodies don’t
You should despawn corpses you don’t need or else they clutter up the game and make it run like ass. There’s a button for it called “dispose of corpse” when you check the inventory
Get creative there’s some rly funny ways to deal with things
Save often there’s way less auto saving
As for mods I have a few that I think make gameplay and graphics a bit better:
Personally I don’t use openmw I use graphics extender and a script extender. But YMMV
Stamina regen mod so I can run without worrying abt stamina management. And magicka regen bc I’m lazy, and a health regen one. But technically you can enchant items to continuously regen health, magicka, and stamina, it’s just annoying to get the soul gems for them and they’re expensive.
Beautiful cities of Morrowind is my fav city overhaul mod but it can be annoying to install ngl. Just don’t install it mid playthru it’ll get kinda weird.
I also use a grass mod bit that can also be annoying to set up. And an Ashlands tree mod.
Various retexture mods. I don’t think you need specific recommendations. I’d pick the ones you like the most. I think there’s dif categories so look at weapons, armor, enemies, static items. There’s a face and hair overhauls mod but it was REALLYYYYYYYYYY annoying to get working so. Good luck if you decide to use that one.
Tamriel rebuilt isn’t finished but it adds mainland Morrowind into the game and it’s fun if you want more Morrowind
Get the pet the damn scrib mod
Carryweight mod but that’s bc I’m a pack rat and hoarder
You can try to get a mod that removes hit chance. Other Morrowind fans will tell you absolutely don’t do that bc “it goes against the spirit of the game” but I’m not one of those. Idc about playing fair in single player games. I just have never seen any that work right. And also if you manage your fatigue and chose skills you intend to use it doesn’t rly matter
Otherwise get mods when you notice smth in the gameplay bugging you. I’ve also gotten one that increases the enchantment limit (oh right there’s like a value to each item that determines the strength of the enchantments you can put on it)
#Morrowind#if I think of more I’ll rb this#you should try playing Morrowind it’s not that bad imo#I’m notoriously bad at video games

man one of the loading tips on Cyberpunk 2077 was something to the effect of "if you're having trouble paying your rent, take on other work" and I was really excited for an RPG with any kind of upkeep mechanic but apparently it's just a joke? There's no upkeep mechanic in 2077, despite this being a thing even in the very stripped down Cyberpunk Red!
I've. Hmm I should do a full write up on this another time. I've played Skyrim with a mod I've heavily tweaked to create an interesting upkeep system and it really helps keep your eye on the value of all the loot you find. I was hoping they'd have put that in this because it's a great way to sell the crushing weight of choosing to be SINless wait wrong game I mean an Edgerunner in Night City.
The upkeep system is a great roleplaying thing in Cyberpunk because it gives you a way to show that your character wants things from the city. Choosing to live in a coffin and eat out of the garbage or struggling to run enough jobs to afford your Corporate Zone apartment is a fun way to build out your character, and give some weight to your income beyond what guns and cyberware it buys.
On the flip side: so far the roleplaying is still pretty good. It feels like this would be going very differently for me if I was playing a different Type Of Guy.
My V is still somewhat attached to being Corporate and she dislikes violence not because she's pacifist but because she sees getting into a fight as being beneath her unless she's being paid for it. This has worked pretty well for me so far! When you're getting the robot from the maelstrom gang and you're given the option to draw a gun while a guy is yelling at you, you can say no! Don't just do something, stand there!
I'm getting the hang of the netrunner stuff, deploying quick hacks in combat is finicky but works really well, and supplements my mediocre firepower.

Greetings to the approximately 5 Daggerfall fans. I keep trying to play Daggerfall, but I can't get out of the tutorial dungeon (I keep dying). I do have Daggerfall Unity installed, and I could technically skip the tutorial dungeon, but for some reason, that feels like cheating to me.
And. I feel like this is probably important information. But I'm playing as a sorcerer. Yes, I know that's probably part of the problem, given that sorcerers have much less health than almost every other class, but I really like magic, okay? I like pure magic builds. Also, I'm really committed to this character because I already have some Lore™️ for him, so I don't want to change my class even though I know choosing almost any other class would give me more health and therefore make it a little easier to not die.
I don't technically have a race completely decided yet (I am trying to decide between Altmer or Dunmer), but I don't think race affects your ability to survive all that much (though I could be wrong).
Anyway, I guess I'm looking for advice? Do you all know any tips on surviving in Daggerfall? Maybe some mod recommendations, too, though I don't want mods that feel like cheating. Maybe just like... mods that allow you to lower the game difficulty a tiny bit, like how later elder scrolls games had a feature where you could choose your difficulty setting. Or something along those lines? Idk I've only ever used Skyrim mods because normally, I play Elder Scrolls games on console...
That actually may be part of the problem, too... I'm just not used to playing computer games
Anyway, TL;DR:
Any advice on how to survive in Daggerfall as a sorcerer, and maybe any mod recommendations for making it a little easier to survive?
#daggerfall#tes ii#tes daggerfall#tes#tesblr#daggerfall unity#also if you all have any advice for Arena as well that would be wonderful#I have a goal to finish the main quests of all the main elder scrolls games#and Arena and Daggerfall are the only ones left that I haven't completed
