I am so fucking pissed right now.

It wasn’t enough that deranged old man known as Donald Trump repeated Laura Loomer’s (one of her MAGA cultists who even MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE called out. Let that sink it) fucked up lies about Haitian Immigrants eating animals (the officials came out and said it was bullshit) but JD Vance repeated them and as a result the schools in Springfield Ohio have been evacuated, the government has been shut down and two of their hospitals have been shut down due to BOMB THREATS.

All this because Trump’s pathetic, washed up, Epstein Files 34 Convicted Felon ass can’t handle Kamala’s popularity going up DAILY along with her owning her.

Ordinarily, I laugh at his stupidity but this is NO laughing matter. Because of his lies, the KKK and the Proud Boys were parading around Springfield repeating racist, hateful rhetoric. If you all remember, this is NO different from the hate crimes Asian Americans suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic because of him referring to it as the “China Virus” along with the hatred Mexican immigrants got because of the disgusting dribble he said back in 2016.

And the icing on the cake? He offered NO apologies about this and doubled down on it. Alright. Just so everyone knows I am very familiar with Canadian laws, and the charter of rights and freedoms we have (including the fine print).

Let me explain speech and groupings.

So according to the part 2 of the charter you do have protected speech*, you have a right to post about politics and such, you have a right to complain, you have a right to peacefully assemble (protest), and the right to associate with people and groups freely.

But let's get into what is not protected by the above.

Your speech cannot slander, defame, harass, spread propaganda, you cannot spread lies about a certain group such as protected groups like indigenous, religious groups or agencies, sexual orientation, gender, race, etc. . Essentially you cannot pinpoint a certain group with harmful speech. So, with that said how much propaganda has been spread by non Jews about Jewish ideals like Zionism. This is not protected by our Charter. You spreading propaganda about our country, our people (including certain groups), government, other countries, other peoples, and other governments is not protected according to the charter of rights and freedoms of Canada.

It's sad when a government is bending to the will teenagers and people who either can't vote, or probably won't vote (typical demographics on voting populations proves this).

It's sad when the government has such an ingrained antisemetic history and ideals that they will not literally enforce the laws that surround these peoples freedoms.

I'm tired of sending letters to the government and having no response, not even seeing them respond to all the antisemtism and the exponential rise of it within the last ten months.

I'm just done.

Dream qrted the 'you can't joke when u an actual pedophile' tweet essentially saying that cantu is a horrible person, accusing him of assaulting dream, treating an uber driver horribly, and that he was saying the r word and being racist. Also says cantu apologized to dream on twitter by blaming it on alcohol and weed.

nicolas qrts, saying 'yes i slapboxed you in front of the hoes', confirming he mistreated an uber driver and said he tipped the driver well after and has been handling his drinking, says he called dream 'fat and a predator'. Nicolas denies being racist. He ends it with "hire a harvard professor to calculate why despite texting every twitch streamer in austin not a single one wanted to fuck you."

also in a qrt to a now private account that basically said 'dream reaching out to streamers doesnt mean he wanted to fuck them' nicolas said dream was sending streamers dick pics.

dream replies saying that nicolas didnt even tip and with screenshots of the dms nicolas had sent him apologizing. The dm is a massive text of paragraph . In an attempt to summarize it is essentially cantu apologizing for hitting dream n that he was out of line, mentioning he was drinking and high, that he thought dream would be an asshole but says he is 'humble, grounded and decent', that he relates to the pressure/discourse around having to deal w fame and havin a lot of influence at a young age, and also that he doesnt know who is and isnt lying w the allegations but he knows having lies n rumours spread bout u sucks.

worth noting im not sure when this message took place so I cant say if its extremely recent, but later dream i believe mentions it having to do with the latest twitchcon. idk [edit: looking ahead robbo mentioned this happened months ago]

Another contender, robbo, comes in saying he was there and that dream was slapped for calling a girl they are friends with a whore. They technically recant this accusation, saying they mixed the cantu slap up with another event that took place at twitchcon, but they continue to claim dream did this.

dream qrts this saying robbo 'wasnt even in the same state' at the time, that he doesnt know who robbo is, that he doesnt go around harassing women and accuses robbo of upholding the benevolent sexism trope of women being weak and needing to be protected by men.

Nicolas cantu makes a reappearance and screenshots dreams reply and tweeting it, then qrting his own tweet with a video of classical music and showing a text allegedly from dream (the name 'clay' at the top of the screenshot) saying 'tsk tsk whore' to someone. The video also has a clip from when dream was in mcc with captainsparklez and said 'we should lynch them' in reference to i think ppl allegedly cheating?.

thats the most of it so far. although robbo and dream continued to argue and at one point dream said he was going to sue them for slander/defamation and robbo qrted with 'sue me.' theres more to that bit but im not puttin screenshots this shit is already too long

anyways. my final opinion: i literally odnt know like half what happening here or if nicolas cantu really was racist or if that screenshot was 'real' and cantu said he wouldnt reveal who the friend dream called a whore is cuz he dont want to pull her into this. so im like what. but dream gettin clapped by nicolas is fucking hilarious and dream pullin the suing thing again is wild. i seen ppl in qrts saying how he already said he was gonna sue amanda and didnt, sayin he instantly pulled the dms w cantu but wont show the evidence showin amanda lied, etc. and those r a lot of what i think a this like. i feel he got angry and exploded again when eh coulda let it die out. but that always happens

WIBTA For Reporting A Blog That Doesn't Technically Break Any Guidelines, But That I Find Really Distasteful and Offensive? For a little more info... The other day I was scrolling through a tag that I follow here on tumblr, centering on a musician I really like, and a blog came up with a couple of their posts tagged with their name. At first the posts were really ridiculous, poorly-formatted, and kinda vulgar, and I thought they were just "crack posts" or jokes being made in bad taste. 1/5

They were things like how they hate fat women and they only fuck skinny girls, and they're into really weird and gross sexual fetishes (not to kinkshame anyone, but it was like wanting their partner to act like a child during sex and they have a kink for really large age gaps, like “barely legal” stuff), and about how they basically r*ped one girl and she had to go get an abortion. Really dark and kind of offensive, and if these were real allegations, I would definitely think they should be investigated or something, but I thought this was just a hate blog, or a crack-post blog, cause they had a lot of milder posts and stuff too. And I was just going to block them so I didn't have to see their stuff in the tag I follow, but I went to their blog, and this is the reason that I might want to report them instead of just blocking them. In their description and blog info post, they say that all their posts are “true gossip” taken from celebrity and musician gossip sites all over the internet. And that these are “real stories” by people who posted on the gossip sites. Obviously the words “gossip” and “true” don't go together, and these posts are probably just made by people looking for attention or spreading lies about someone they hate. I know I could just block them, but it was really off-putting for me to read these vulgar things about one of my favorite musicians being presented as true, and I wouldn't want other people to have to go through that, or have other people think that these posts are real. I know technically nothing posted by their blog goes against tumblr's guidelines, but their content is sexually explicit and somewhat disturbing, and because the posts are about real people, it's kind of slander/defamation. So... WIBTA for reporting their blog? Or am I just taking this way too personally because this is a musician I have really liked since my childhood? 5/5 (Sorry this is so long!)

Build Jakapan Case Update + My Thoughts

It’s the middle of the night for me but I thought you all should know that it was announced that Poi and Build have settled in court. Both have published letters that agree and admit that Poi lied about everything and Build is innocent.

This likely isn’t the end as her admitting her falsehoods will have to be a condition of the settlement and there will likely still be a hearing to nail down the damages she has to pay. But her settling like this confirms what I suspected for a long time: she has no evidence. Everything she’s ever accused him of came from her own mind. I suspected that from the start when she came out so strong and said she was going to sue him, and then just… did not.

I have some concerns. I will admit I haven’t been neutral in quite a while because Poi gave me no reason to trust her and every reason not to with her inconsistencies and Pinterest-picture evidence. I like to believe victims but i also firmly follow “trust, but verify” as a mantra. And I couldn’t verify anything she said. I could, however, see the inconsistencies and the coincidental timings and the conveniently cropped screenshots she shared as “proof” of him being so awful.

I digress.

I am concerned that since a mere couple of days ago she was slandering him live on TikTok that she won’t stop now, even with the settlement. I’m equally concerned that a settlement won’t be enough to clear Build’s name in the eyes of his neutral fans. I had hoped he’d take the case all the way so that the evidence would come out. But then again, this is a deeply private matter so I don’t blame him for wanting to keep his evidence private.

I have absolutely no hope that this will change the minds of people who are determined to hate him. But I do have hope that people who went neutral will see this and appropriately change their minds about him and this matter.

I am a bit concerned about what a case like this means for “believe the victim!” Since Poi obviously exploited that exact mentality as she defamed him, knowing it would ruin him to even be accused of something like this regardless of if he did it. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for more people to take the “trust but verify” approach… however I’m concerned that cases like this will be pointed to when discrediting real victims and dismissing their cases as simple misunderstandings. Because at the core of it, it seems like this was a messy break up that went really, really wrong.

I have no real closing thoughts here other than:

1. This isn’t quite over though I don’t know if we’ll get exact settlement details in the future.

2. I’ll be watching carefully to see if she actually stops with her erratic, defaming behavior or not. I’m not entirely sure she’s capable of stopping, so I’m concerned he may end up having to sue again if she breaks the settlement.

3. I think people need to be a bit more critical about believing people blindly BUT should still default to believing the victim in most cases to avoid using bad examples like this to discredit real victims.

4. This will do nothing to change people who are determined to hate Build’s mentality and I don’t expect it to. It was never about abuse for them, only blind hatred.

5. It’ll be interesting to see how Build’s life and career progress after all of this, especially juxtaposed against all the other Thai BL actors who are having problematic behavior come to light lately…

A post about how a shit stain waste of space @ajawrites @bookshop attacked fans of Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan in an article she wrote for @vox, and then went on to slander and defame Zhang Zhehan in an attempt to get the only article published about his cancellation by CAPA retracted.

Here's the context: On June 6, 2022, @vox published an article written by @ajawrites @bookshop claiming that fans of Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan are "conspiracy theorists". In it, she makes all types of claims defaming myself and the entire JunZhe fandom (both here and in China) for being conspiracy theorists because we do not believe Zhang Zhehan's Instagram account is controlled by him. For those who don't know, Instagram fraud is rampant and there have been several Chinese celebrities who have been the victim of this. Zhang Zhehan's solo fans encouraged the reposting of this article and defended it because they somehow believe that Zhang Zhehan would "comeback" on an international platform before his name is cleared in China (another story for another day).

On June 14, 2022, less than one week after the publication of that article, The China Story published an article about why Zhang Zhehan was cancelled, and specifically that a non-governmental organization called the China Association of Performing Arts (CAPA) was behind the cancellation, not the Chinese government. It also described the efforts made by Li Xuezheng, a famous government-affiliated director, to clear his name. To my knowledge, this is the only story in the world to shine a light on CAPA's role in Zhang Zhehan's cancellation.

After this article was published, @ajawrites @bookshop wrote a long email to the China Story on June 18, 2022 seeking that the article be retracted. She claimed she had done "research" which showed that the article was part of a conspiracy theory (false), that Zhang Zhehan's family was linked to Japan (false), that Zhang Zhehan was cancelled by the government (false), that CAPA wasn't involved (false), and that all those who believe they are are "conspiracy theorists" (false). She repeats anti talking points to smear Zhang Zhehan in an attempt to obtain a retraction of the article.

Yes, @ajawrites @bookshop attempted to get the only article in the world that described CAPA in a negative light retracted.

Here's @ajawrites @bookshop insinuating that Zhang Zhehan was banned by the government, when it has been proven on multiple occasions that the government did not ban Zhang Zhehan.

A writer who cannot even get this fact right does not deserve to be called a writer or a thinking human being.

Here's @ajawrites @bookshop claiming that Zhang Zhehan has family ties to Japan, which is FALSE.

Zhang Zhehan himself stated in his interview with Li Xuezheng on January 1, 2022 (seven months before this email) that this was not true. Yet, @ajawrites @bookshop continued to spread this smear to the editors of The China Story.

How does someone who is too lazy to confirm facts become a "culture writer" for @vox?

Here's @ajawrites @bookshop claiming that their "research" shows that the public genuinely hated Zhang Zhehan. They claim that Zhang Zhehan was not cancelled by bad actors, but rather by the "public".

They ignore all the proof and statements that what happened was due to malicious competition and monopoly. All of this was readily available, had @ajawrites @bookshop actually done diligent research. Li Xuezheng had, after all, talked about it for weeks at the end of 2021 and early 2022.

But of course @ajawrites @bookshop knows better! They know better than even Chinese people! They even know that CAPA is a government organization, when CAPA itself said that it is not government and does not represent government.

Pretty rich for white journalist @ajawrites @bookshop to claim that when Li Xuezheng, a renowned government affiliated film director, says that Zhang Zhehan's cancellation was not done by the Chinese government but instead by CAPA, he is spouting a "conspiracy theory".

@vox is this the type of sinophobic journalists that your publication now employs?

Here's @ajawrites @bookshop defending CAPA by stating that it is not to blame for Zhang Zhehan's censorship from all media platforms in China.

Except they failed to read the multiple media reports indicating that CAPA had allied itself with multiple media platforms to ban those it deems "immoral". These media resources includes a western outlet, Reuters. Basic due diligence would have unearthed this, but it appears neither @ajawrites @bookshop or @vox care about the facts.

Here's @ajawrites @bookshop suggesting (as a white foreign writer with zero access to his case), that it is "unlikely" that Zhang Zhehan's investigation would go anywhere, that he can't come back, that he is "already back".

These are clear anti talking points easily found on Chinese social media.

Of particular note is that @ajawrites @bookshop claims that these conclusions are a result of their "research". Yes in their own words, in 2020 they were just learning Chinese. With their level of genius, I bet they're not far from being a beginner.

Yet, this is the type of "expert" that @vox employs to write about Chinese fan culture.

The article in China Story is one of the only published articles in the world that details how Zhang Zhehan was cancelled by CAPA, not the Chinese government. Yet @ajawrites @bookshop, great friend to Zhang Zhehan solo fans asked for a retraction.

Yes, we have the email. They actually did.

Who has incentive to take down an article that speaks negatively about CAPA? Who has incentive to water down statements negative to CAPA? Who has incentive to perpetuate smears against Zhang Zhehan internationally?

Who better to manipulate than a lazy and dumb writer like @ajawrites @bookshop

I do wonder how @vox and its advertisers feels about @ajawrites @bookshop spreading slander about a Chinese celebrity and his fandom? I wonder if @vox even bothers with basic fact-checking? I wonder if @vox is okay with one of its writers contacting another publication in an attempt to supports their biased views?

To the Zhang Zhehan fans (Zhang Sanjian believers) who have fawned at the feet of @ajawrites @bookshop: good to know that you support those who defend CAPA, the organization that cancelled Zhang Zhehan.

And one last thing to @ajawrites @bookshop: only a shit stain waste of space would write an article about a celebrity to gain a following in his fandom while actually despising him, believing the smears against him, and thinking he's a t******.
