thought about how peni parker went through her canon event losing almost everyone around her but the thought of one day seeing the friends she made, albeit far far away, she carries on for that slim chance to happen again.

and when she finally did? she couldn't see the one person who she developed a connection to when she couldn't find a way home. miles misses all of them- misses her, they all helped him pave his path to becoming who he is and yet their reunion was ever too short.

with a little stray cat who wonders the store, unapologetically getting loose hair on the floor that needs to be swept over and over. who hops off the counter when anyone reaches out to pet him.

except when it’s miguel o’hara, who’s hand the cat loves to brush its face into while he looks at the empanadas and their filling for today (and the cutie who works behind the counter.)

“they’re fresh, i promise. we don’t keep ‘em out all day.” you insist with a little smile, gesturing toward the fridges beside you. “buy two and i’ll even let you get a free can.”

“pollo y queso, y un cerdo.” he chuckles as he leaves the cat to get himself a drink. you raise your eyebrow at him expectantly and he rolls his eyes.

hobie and gwen practicing together and gwen has another moment like at the start where she’s just whacking at those drums and losing herself but instead of cutting her off hobie just. lets her play. and she goes on for a while, and she’s losing herself and hobie just sits back. and eventually she finishes, and she’s breathless and her hands hurt and the room feels deathly silent. she sighs, and she drops her sticks and stares down at the kit. and she’s apologizing because the song was over ages ago and she probably totally ruined it but hobie stops her. because clearly there’s a lot of something built up in there and frankly if you’re gonna let it out best to beat up the shitty old drum kit in his basement. gwen glances up finally and hobie has that “you good?” look on his face, and she nods. and the drums definitely take a few more gwen beatings over the next while, but at least she knows it’s a safe place to do it.
