Chapter 6 | Playground [M]

Kevin points a threatening finger at you and marches over with angry footsteps. “You have a lot of explaining to do, Missy!” He drops his bag carelessly on the floor, arms crossed in displeasure and eyes narrowed.

You heave a deep sigh. You still feel stupid and actually quite sorry for what happened the night before. You knew Kevin was coming over for one of your movie nights but what you did not know was that Juyeon would come before he did and that he was very… needy.

Long-story-short, Juyeon definitely got what he wanted but at the expense of you scarring your best friend for… probably his entire life. “Well? Aren’t you gonna say anything? Will you please fucking explain to me why I walked in on my best friend riding some man’s dick?!” He leans in closer, choosing just now to use a hushed tone, “Specifically Lee Juyeon?!”

“Kevin, you really need to work on your fucking volume when you speak. Do you want the whole class to know what happened?!” You angrily whisper your second sentence, anxious eyes looking around. “Even I don't know what happened! What was that? Are you two finally dating? Why the fuck didn’t you tell me?!”

“What? We’re… We’re not dating.” Kevin gives you a perplexed look before he’s gasping and looking at you in pure contempt. “I can’t believe you! You coerced him into being your little fuck buddy, didn’t you?!” he whisper-yells, glaring at you. Your jaw drops at his accusation, actually quite hurt about what he just said. “Wow, do you really think that low of me, Kevin?!” you whisper-yell right back at him.

And finally, he shuts his big mouth. You roll your eyes and try not to frown. “It was a mutual decision,” you mumble, “In fact, he was the one who brought it up!” Your best friend still doesn’t say anything but by the way he’s looking at you, you know that he’s sorry for what he said and he realized that it wasn’t called for.

Still, you feel defensive about it so you go on saying, “He’s not this… angelic, innocent guy everybody makes him out to be! He– He–” Now you’re the one leaning forward, “He left me all tied up with a vibrator inside me while he went out to buy us dinner! He’s… cruel and mean as fuck!”

Kevin’s face crumples in disgust and he pushes your face away from him, “I did not need to fucking know that! Seriously, was yesterday not enough?!” In the midst of your (poor) attempt to whisper and keep your conversation between yourselves, Juyeon walks into the room.

The moment he lays his eyes on you, his lips curl into a fond smile and his feet automatically take him to where you are. “Hey–” he greets before he even notices how you and Kevin were talking in low voices, stopping himself from speaking when you both whip your heads to his direction and scowl.

“Oops.. Bad time?” he sheepishly says, sporting an equally sheepish and awkward grin. You give him a deadpanned look and thankfully, he takes the hint. Nodding once, Juyeon walks away to find a vacant seat elsewhere while Kevin quiets down to take in all the information you just told him.

You and Juyeon, fuck buddies… friends with fucking benefits. As much as it’d contradict everything he’s said and believed, he kind of saw this coming deep down in the darkest corners of his mind. He lets out a defeated sigh.

“Well… At least I trust him,” Kevin says, more to himself than to you but it catches your attention and you turn to him with your brows pinched together, “What do you mean?” He shrugs and starts taking out his binder and pencil case, “I just know that… whatever happens, you’ll both be okay.”

You blink at him, only getting more confused. “What… do you mean?” you dumbly repeat and Kevin shakes his head, chuckling, “Nothing, harlot. Have fun, I guess?” You raise a questioning eyebrow at him and your mouth opens to prod but he immediately cuts you off saying, “You might wanna give your new boy toy your attention now though. I can feel him burning holes into your back.”

You ignore the warmth creeping onto your cheeks and turn around in your seat. True enough, Juyeon is staring at you. His sharp eyes turn into little endearing crescents the moment you meet eyes and he flashes you a closed mouth smile.

He waves his phone and starts typing something in, your own device sounding out just a few seconds later. “Your place or mine?” The text reads, making you scoff incredulously. This man is insatiable.

[You | 8:17 AM] Again? Wasn’t last night enough?

You turn back around to see him reading your text with his teeth clamping down his bottom lip to keep a smile at bay.

[Juyeon | 8:18 AM] What are you talking about? I can never get enough of you, baby 😉

You too fight the urge to smile at his reply.

“Your place,” you promptly text back and tuck your phone away to make it seem like you’re casual about it. But your phone dings again and before you could even stop yourself, you already have it out, quietly giggling to yourself. “You guys aren’t… sexting, are you?” Kevin comments beside you, dampening your mood.

“Shut the fuck up, Kevin.”

Today has been a busy day. You barely saw Kevin, let alone Juyeon but even with all the shit you had to do, your mind always takes you back to him. It was like when you first slept with him. You see him when you close your eyes… feel his touches lingering on your skin, his breath that tickles your ear and neck, that stupid scent he has that reminds you comfort and warmth, his sharp mysterious eyes.

Heck, you’ve even thought about the moles on his eyelid, one that’s prominent and the other that’s a little smaller, right at the crease so you can only see it when he's closing his eyes. Your brows are in a tight knit as you make your way to the library. Is his dick that good for him to just lurk in your mind like this?

Huffing, you push the double doors of the entrance open and immediately drop your head to somehow hide your identity. One of your really good friends, Jacob, has recently become a library volunteer and you practically begged him to let you in, sick of struggling to find sources for your papers and for a place to peacefully study at.

Jacob sees and treats you like his little (bratty) sister so he gave in rather quickly and agreed to let you inside. But, just in case his other co-volunteers see you, he told you to go to the study rooms around back since no one ever really uses them anymore. You glance at him working on the front desk and he all but shoos you away, pointing to the direction of the study rooms.

You discreetly nod your head, scurrying your way there and weave through the shelves to collect your references before you proceed to the farthest study room. Carrying your book in one arm, you tentatively twist the doorknob, sighing in relief that it isn’t locked. Quickly, you push the door open and switch the lights on while you look outside to make sure no one’s seen you.

A low groan suddenly sounds out in the dark and you almost scream in shock. “that’s-that’s amazing, i recently got fired so i don’t have anything to do for today,” he told you without second thinking, but then cringed at his words. “i mean, i’m free today so it’s amazing, i mean it’s amazing that you accepted and that we’re gonna have lunch together,” he started talking rapidly before you could add something and you nodded slowly, handing him the bag with his book.

“i’m sorry, it’s-it’s just that i think i like you, like you very much, and i’m terrified,” he murmured, but cringed right after telling you, it probably wasn’t the way he wanted to tell you all of that. he was concerned by your silence and quickly met your eyes.
