for the wip title meme
you might think that I have mispelt this title writing it out for the meme post, but no, I fucked up the title when I was saving it the first time and now it lives like this is my wip folder as a monument to dyslexia
I made a jokey comment/post a while back about what was the plan b, sheev if, y'know, all the traumatic shit he was forcing the jedi thorugh produced not dead jedi but, well, 10,000 intensely traumatised newly fallen Force users with lazer swords. This proceeded to start chewing on my brain. et voila.
teeny tiny excerpt ft the made up mutant space!bastard child of two-up and Russian roulette
Practically, if you flip a pair of coins in a game of terrellian doubles, and end up with two akglit, you're going to be far less concerned with the likelihood of the outcome and far more concerned with just how much oxygen — or nitrogen, or dorian gas, or whatever it is that you breathe — there is not in a coffin buried somewhere between nine and fourteen metres underground.
Similarly, theoretically, over the course of what would later come to be known as the clone war, there should have been less than a handful of Jedi who fell. They were trained, after all, and dedicated to the light, used to handling the darker parts of the galaxy, even if not quite to this scale in over a thousand years.
Practically, the scattered planetary systems of what had once been known as the Republic are beginning to get very, very good at calculating exactly how much air is left in the metaphorical coffin.

Last night I was terribly sad about not getting Fanfest tickets, but I had to go to the store to get beans, and as I was wandering through the produce I stopped and gasped, out loud, because my favorite apple somehow made it from New York for $6 a bag, which is MUCH cheaper than the $45 I paid to get them shipped to me in 2018, and I was instantly in a great mood. I might not have Fanfest tickets but I've got these apples & my friends and I are making plans to go to California the week before instead for vacation. Life's good. I love my friends and I love that we're all going to hang out together and I love these apples

my mum likes to do this thing where she'll say "you're an adult now so you can make your own choices and if you disagree with me or your dad on our decisions you can tell us"
but the moment I say "hey. I want to take a gap/break year from uni to get myself in order and build the skills I need and recover from the last few years of everything"
she goes "yep. nope. you can't do that [insert whichever reason she's decided on this year]"
and I'm just sitting here wishing she 'd either stick to her word or just. not lie to me for once.

Mongolian history class, 2022, start of the semester. We're having a discussion on animal slaughter, featuring the one Mongolian student in our school.
The student explains that he's slaughtered animals himself, and there are two ways of doing it that avoid the spilling of blood. For a small animal like a chicken, you reach up into the chest of the animal and sever the arteries. For a larger animal like a camel, there's a spot on the forehead that, when hit hard enough, causes the animal to die instantly.
While this discussion is going on, a couple of the students are sharing something back and forth on their phone
The professor calls this out, asking if what they're sharing is more interesting than Mongolian animal slaughter
The room is dead silent for a few seconds. The two students look at each other awkwardly.
Eventually, one of the students pipes up:
"Well, the queen of England just died."
And without missing a beat, another student:
"Did they hit her on the head like a camel?"

Hey do you guys remember how long it took for Essek to show his natural awkwardness around the Nein? Do you remember how they were friends with him for three months before he even tried making jokes around them? Do you remember the long slow process of him letting down the Shadowhand mask and openly showing how much he enjoyed their antics?
Did you see Essek just being himself around Bell's Hells, this bunch of weirdos he'd never met, even as he pretended to be someone else? Did you see him cracking that dumb joke about his pretend mother being able to stop time with enough ale, and laughing with them? Did you see him watching them for all of five minutes and going, 'This has been a very interesting first impression. I'm excited to see how strange this gets!'
Do you realise how much easier and freer with people he is now? How despite dropping the Shadowhand sleekness and showing his awkward side, he somehow seems more confident? Do you realise that despite the situation right now, Essek seems happy?

i really hate that i can recognise that yes, my art is good, but is it VARIED? is it dynamic?? is my anatomy good? is it full of texture and colour theory? do i know how to do This? can i do That? no, not really. and that's quite painful actually
