What you said about not needing P to be hypothetically into you to be a fan of his is so important imo. Feel like far too many fan’s interest in him is hinged on hoping he’d find them attractive and I don’t think that’s bad per se but it is pretty fickle and prone to disappointment. I think that’s why there’s so much toxicity surrounding the partners of celebrities and people getting angry/hurt when a celebrity announces that they’re in a relationship. Not saying that’s most fans by any means but it is something that I find kind of troubling about celebrity culture in general.
Celebrity culture is absolutely troubling! Human beings evolved to be in tribes for survival, and I think a lot of our modern social issues are because we evolved to recognize and be loyal to our own tribe and be suspicious and fearful of the ‘other’ tribes. We don't need to be tribal to survive any more, but our physical brains haven't kept up with the social evolution we have experienced. So, we look for a tribe, and a leader of that tribe, and a celebrity has become a de facto tribal leader. (Sports, religion, political leaders, and military worship are other examples.) And it's just a byproduct of the public aspect of their job! They have no real reason to be so well-known, other than media is shared publicly. It's fascinating, really, if it weren't so troublesome. It also means people attack others they see as a threat to the 'tribe' even though it is completely nonsensical. That person who is so angry with me and tracking my Pedro posts feels I'm a threat to their 'ownership' of Pedro as their tribal leader. It's ridiculous, but I understand it. That person probably doesn't feel accepted by any other tribe in their life, so they latch on to this one as their source of acceptance, and attack anyone they see as a threat to it.
I'm not a Sociologist! I just like to read, ponder, and think. I wish I could turn off my own tribal tendencies. It's conscious work to overcome them. (I also wish my brain would stop rewarding me for eating fat and sugar! It's also not needed any more, but I also can't turn that off.)
I recommend the book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. It's a fascinating exploration of these concepts.

Do you all think that Normals yearbook club that recapped the yearbooks of the past just covered what was in the book or was he trying to get the extra drama too by consulting PPL who were in highschool that year and reading b/w the lines?
Then I would have died to join the club because it would be so entertaining.
Do you think he would have covered the last year's yearbook every year as a back to school special so new kids wouldn't feel like an outsider? And to find good parts of school where he wasn't shunned?
He would redo the last year one everytime a new kid joined mid-year?
Do you think he has done yearbook recaps of the years the kiddads were in highschool and interrogated each of them and their classmates (except Nicky, maybe he got Nickys scoop later but idk if he covered what he got from him in the club). So he knows way too much about their mundane shenanigans and that makes them uncomfy in a way idk

Immanence
I'm not in any real position to adress this (few people are) but I feel like I need to write about this stuff so anyway here goes.
what I'm planning to do here is layout something thats going to be pretty borning to most people. and thats theology or more accuratly I'm going to be trying to put a more formal spin on a pretty common neo-pagan belief
basicly the idea that the divine or gods can be seen through the natural world. In fancy socialogical/scholar of religon terms this idea is call Immanence
what the idea boils down to is this, the gods (I'm using polytheistic terms here because I am a polytheist) are reflected in the natural world. The most common use of this idea is that the gods exist in things like trees rivers and wind etc. I however want to take this idea further.
the gods are found within the natural world not just in the natural world on earth but in all the world and we can observe how they influence the world via physics and what seems to human eyes to be random chance.
In the dying of stars and their reconsitution into new planets and stars we see the wheel of time the cycle of rebirth not just on a human or seasonal scale but on a galatic level. Just as the gods die and are reborn in the cycle of the year so too do stars die and return in some cases being vital in the creation of life.
Further if the gods exist as stars then the gods may also exist in the smalled microbe and atom. Their influence can be felt in everything because they are in everything. As the spiritual origonators of life therefore the gods motions and actions can be seen and measure through the natural world which they have influence. To put it simply although we know from science it is gravity we shape the earth it is just as true to say that divine hands gave the earth shape gravity was the tool they used to do it. like a potter using a wheel or wire to shape clay so to do the gods shape costlines and form planets and set seas in their places through the means of the natural world.
This also extends to issues of climate change. Our relationship with the gods is reciprocal while the gods to provide for humanity out of what one might call a sense of duty (though humans are so far removed from the gods using terms like this are misleading). but that duty the gods have towards us must be returned. Both via a reciprocal relationship with the natural world which recognises it as a reflection of the divine. In addition we must also cultivate a reciprocal relationship with the gods. Just as they provide for our needs we too must provide them respect and honor via offerings hymns and songs as well as prayers and good deeds which reflect the gods own provision and kindness in human affairs (the mythological lapses of some gods notwithstanding).
to conclude this very rambling (sorry) point. The gods as shapers of the natural world can be seen in the natural world menaing that physics or biology can be seen and I would argue should be seen. As ways of seeing and understanding the gods and the wider divine powers of our world. And the importance of cultivating a properly respectful and reciprocal relationship with the divine

I love! being! a! silly! little! fangirl! I love going to concerts and starting to queue at 9 am, I love knowing every single song of a band, I love knowing every fact about every band member, I love loving things so deeply and I am sick! of! people (mostly men)! treating me like an infantile because of it!!!
How is it 2024 and people still make fun of other people for just loving bands?
jesus, I might be a silly little fangirl but next to that I‘m also a person working on their phd in systematic musicology, regularly analyzing music on a scientific base and working in that field.
Yes, me and nobody else in fact, are dumb because of liking something very deeply, surprise!
I feel like this (obsession over bands) is something that often happens withing the neurodivergent community (e.g. special interest, hyperfixation) & people don‘t understand that they are just being subliminally ableist. We have normalized making fun of people who like things intensely so much, that the whole neurodivergent community keeps suffering because of it.
Yeah, I am capable of writing a full analysis of my favorite album of my favorite band and analyse it in a scientific manner, how it affects people on a socialogical of psychological way. But am I also allowed to just enjoy things without having to prove that I‘m not dumb?

Honestly, you have no idea how much you helped me.
I discovered this fic when I had given up my own rewrite on winx, then came across your batfam post ( the one where a robin calling out to 'dad' was a criminals worst nightmare )
I tapped on your profile, then saw your winx rewrite. ( I remember screaming squealing in happiness )
You really helped me come across to my own rewrite ( especially the Daphne/Valtor part )
Now I need your help.
Do you think Flora would be a biology student ( I loved the idea of her healing magic ) and/or chemistry student?
I currently am loving the idea of math lover!Riven and Archeology!Timmy, so tell me your thoughts on those two!
Currently, my biggest concern is helia's and Layla/Aisha's.
I have a feeling he'd 100% take psychology, And maybe Socialogy. But I'm not too keen on that. But I want to place him on the criminology spectrum, what do you think?, Since I'm taking in that helias a pacifist, I want to stay true to that.
And I have no idea on Layla's.
You don't necessarily have to answer this! Take some rest too!
Hi! Good luck on your rewrite!
So umm…
I can see Flora as more of a chemistry student that a biologist, just cause of the way I see/write her
I can’t see Riven being a math loved idk why, however I can absolutely see Timmy loving Archeology, I actually kinda love that idea
I personally absolutely see Helia in psychology and I can see him as kind of a CSI ya know?
I also struggle with Layla outside of dance and arts

theres something so insane about people racebending limbus characters like yes they are fictional and there isnt really a concept of "race" in projmoon but its almost as if the characters are based on works of literature that are highly tied to the identities of both the era they were written in and sometimes are even explicitly based on the original authors— yi sang most obviously, but there is for example gregor too, who is clearly borrowing from franz kafka quite heavily with both hermann probably being based on his father and the fact that his profile is written out in hebrew
even if in the story, it isn't apparent. i think that we, the readers, who can see the "meta" and beyond the veil of text of limbus, have to understand that for example the ambiguity of heathcliff's identity in wuthering heights is not an invitation to meddle with those kinds of aspects. i think it should be common sense, frankly
i am not against racebending at all in most cases but i think in this case it's like, clearly even aspects of the story in limbus itself hinge on the socialogical traits of the original characters in their original stories, and even the original authors. i don't think sinclair can be seperated from the fact that in demian, he comes from a well to do german family in the early 20th century. there is clearly a strong presence of that in his projmoon version. so when it's something like heathcliff being romanian or arab or what have you in the regency era of britain, it absolutely cannot be divorced from even his limbus character.
