what are you .°୭̥ ❁ ˎˊ˗ au! aegon targaryen x fem!reader
summary: a night out was what it started as but when it ended she was a different person, a different thing.
warnings: drinking, blood mentions, vampire beings; smut: oral (f received), p in v, overstimulation—might seemed rushed but it’s meant to feel like that
word count: 3k

y/n never went out much, but when she did she went all out. her friend had invited her to her anniversary party for working with the very well known singer as his manager. she loved her job and would do nothing to change it.
y/n worked with her parents who are known for being doctors, their own hospital and all. she never enjoyed it however but she did whatever she needed to pay the bills.
‘happy anniversary lydia!’ y/n yelled as she sipped some of her wine, lydia smiled sweetly as y/n gave her a kiss on the cheek—‘aw thank you baby! it’s so surreal, i wouldn’t do anything to change it. and your to thank for it all’ she cooed as y/n rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless.
y/n had introduced her to the job position wanted sign on instagram and helped her get the job, the singer she works for so happened to be known within her families hospital business by being in and out of them at his young age.
‘no no, that was all your talent to blame, i only pushed you a little to get it’ y/n commented while taking another sip of her drink, her friend shook her head and leaned into her side, everyone else that was invited had already been out on the dance floor, y/n herself didn’t really want to do that so stayed next to her friend.
‘hey not to freak you out but that platinum blonde over there had been eyeing you down since we got here’ lydia commented, y/n raided a eyebrow and looked out in the dance floor to see not one but three platinum blondes at a circle table as they drank, one a girl with long hair and a boy with long hair as well, y/n was a bit jealous of how healthy it looked.
looking a bit harder y/n noticed the one with shoulder length hair looked her up and down with a small smirk, she grew nervous and turned away.
‘oh god..he need to stop’ she whined while her friend laughed—‘what? why! i’d say he’s your type from head to toe’ lydia reminded.
‘no no that’s exactly why he needs to stop! my top is beyond toxic and from the looks of it he’d leave me on read after a one night stand if i were pregnant with his baby’ she held her head in her hands with her eyes covered as lydia busted out laughing.
‘y/n! stop it! just have fun, your in your twenties and it’s time to enjoy your life, you work your ass off everyday and you need a good one night stand anyways’ lydia reminded, y/n scoffed with a grin while lydia laughed.
looking over to see him still looking at her she smiled a bit and looked away; making her wine move around the cup with the slight movement of her wrist, she groaned at the thought of actually giving in.
just as she was about to do it she heard someone clearing their throat—‘excause me, but can i have this dance with her?’ she heard a man’s voice. looking up to see the platinum blonde standing next to their table, lydia gasped a little and turned to y/n giving her one last smile and squeezed on the arm for good luck.
‘she’s all yours’ she commented before getting up to leave. y/n was definitely going to scold her for that later, looking up and smiling a bit, he did the same, holding his hand out for her to grab cautiously.
it was a strange thing but the first thing she realized about him was his piercing gaze that lured her into him and freezing cold hands. she could’ve sworn she touched ice when touching his hand.
getting to the dance floor that seemed to be exactly into the middle of the floor, the people surrounded them in their own worlds, making out, laughing, drunk, high on whatever drug they’ve taken that night, and mindless of the fact they had work tomorrow, after all it was thursday night almost friday morning of eleven thirty.
his hand on her waist, and the other holding her hand, hers on his shoulder and the other in his own as well.
‘i just have to say your extremely beautiful, and sexy’ oh; what formal words and phrases to use for a woman you’ve never met. she smiled a bit and hummed—‘thank you very much, your very alluring and cold’ she said back with a slight joke.
he chucked a bit and shrugged.
‘low blood since birth i suppose, you seem to be full of it; very warm, and tan’ he said, she didn’t know if it were her lips or her neck he’d been staring at; but for once she’d rather it be her boobs.
‘so, what do you do for work?’ she wondered, trying to make some sort of talk or conversation, the awkward silence between the two with the only thing being peoples life and music surrounding them.
‘work in the day, get to get free at night. work for the day club on fourth’ he said while turning her around like some princess.
‘hm, i think i've heard of it. my parents went to it once or twice but only for medical reasons. are you their assistant or something?’ she wondered, hoping she could probably find out his name.
‘no i’m the son of the head owners, aegon. my brother and sister over their aemond and helaena’ he said as if it were nothing at all.
aegon ? helaena, and aemond…targaryens? she was in the distance of targaryen royalty basically. y/n always envied them sometimes and the whole city, basically the world.
‘a—aegon targaryen?’
‘ah yes, you’ve heard of me, glad to hear. i’ve heard about you as well, your parents mostly but you yea. y/n l/n yes?’ he said, smiling a bit, she smiled back a bit nervous but was hesitant.
‘yeah, they’re known for they’re work i suppose’ she grinned. he smiled back and started to look at her lips or neck again while she grew nervous.
‘if you want to kiss me just do it—‘
just as she said that he practically threw himself at her, his lips on hers and the kiss wet, violent and just what y/n liked. she hummed in his mouth as his lips and tongue fell over her lips and in them, their tongues fighting for dominance. she let his kiss travel to her neck where she almost moaned at the presser of what felt like his teeth grazing her neck.
‘come to my place, i won’t let you down i promise’ he mumbled into her ear, moaning as he did so along with a gentle kiss on her earlobe, she nodded her head.
pulling her out of the building and what seemed to be a taxi already waiting for them, the two getting in and kia lips finding hers quickly, the taxi driver didn’t even ask where to, he just started driving off immediately. she didn’t even bother to wonder.

when they got to his place, it looked like a haunted castle, the brick walls all over, it stood on a large mountain and just to get to the front door was a whole hike up. y/n liked the fact she didn’t have to climb to get to her house but also found it pretty, it has a dark aura that she enjoyed. it gave it character.
‘what a lovely home’ she complimented while he only shrugged. pushing open the large dark wooden doors he was greeted by the form door.
‘ignore them, my parents insist on having maids all over the house for no reason at all’ aegon mumbled. getting a cup of liquor that seemed to be waiting for him at the table in front of the door.
walking in she held whe small purse in front of her figure. looking around to the large steps in the middle of the entrance, a large hallway and the light of a warm fire filling the spaces that were too dark to reach.
y/n noticed how the home was filled with dark curtains all through. she didn’t want to comment much or think about it, everyone had their likes and dislikes on the sun.
walking up the stairs and getting to the top, a large hallway leading down to his room. the two entering y/n was suddenly brought to his lips ok need once more. humming as his hand squeezed her thighs, she let him pick her up, wrapping her legs around his waist.
aegon’s hands on both of y/n’s thighs to support her as they kissed deeply, her hands rested on both sides of his neck. as she felt him walk to the fire place with a fuzzy blanket set on the floor she felt her back being laid down gently, her legs still wrapped around his as she felt him gently push himself against her.
‘shit…this is so bad’ he mumbled into her neck as he kissed down to her breasts, then made his way down to her stomach. pushing up the tight white button up shirt she was wearing she moaned when he began to suck on her skin, moving down and pushing the skirt she was wearing up and out of his way.
‘fuck’ she whispered, her hands finding way to his head, pulling his white hair as he moaned at this. her body was beyond warm and she could feel his cold touch all over her body that stung her like a seething fire.
her heat begging to be paid attention to was granted then he kissed it softly, moaning while they kept eye contact he let his lips wrap around her and began to eat like he’s ever eaten before, moaning out as she let her legs grow weak but tried to keep them wide for him, his hand resting on her thigh while pulling her leg up and over his shoulder.
groaning into he she moaned and held his hand, intertwining with his cold one. as she felt her climax he pulled away making her whine out in displeasure—‘w—what are you doing?’ she mumbled.
he smiled and pushed himself back up to her face, kissing her deeply and gently placing his two fingers into her cunt, she let her mouth drip open, his still set along hers as he smiled.
‘is that good? hm?’ he whispered. she nodded fastly with her eyebrows scrunched together. he could feel her climax and didn’t want that to happen, not yet at least.
‘shit…oh my god—yes’ she whined out, her voice getting higher and higher—‘don’t cum yet’ he told her and she whined, placing his hand down and unbuttoning his pants, he pumped husnelf a few times before entering her, she gasped but was in bliss.
her body warm and soft, her hand going to his back, scratching it ever so lightly while he pounded into her. first it was soft but then it was rough, fast..almost at a inhuman speed but she didn’t care, he must of had crazy stamina—‘fuck! fuck!’ she yelled as he moaned, picking her up while his strength kept her moving on him.
pushing her against the wall she moaned sweetly as he groaned into her neck, wrapping his hand around her throat and kissing her lips hard, she hummed at the kiss.
she didn’t know when it ended or when it started up again, but the next thing she knew, she was on the bed, the wall; cold on her back, the floor once more and the table that sat in the middle of his room. the two of them cumming numerous times over and over, her hair messy and her body marked with purple and red highlights of his lips that sucked hers.
laying in the bed when her stomach on the soft sheets and the cover lightly wrapped around her lower back. his hand was set against her as well as they both slept soundly. y/n however felt a strange pain in her neck that tempted her away.
groaning and getting up slowly to not wake up aegon. y/n searched for her underwear and a shirt, putting the two on and leaving.
she made her way out and down the hall, her hand touching the walls to find her way along with the intense headache that pounded against her skull.
finally finding what seemed like a bathroom, she pushed the door open and turned on the light. looking into the mirror and seeing, blood.
‘the fuck?’ y/n mumbled. was this guy into kinky shit she didn’t know of and why didn’t she feel it a while ago? leaning into the mirror she touched it slightly, her hand shaking and gasping to see two large holes on the side of her neck.
‘oh god’ she whispered.
‘he’s done it again’ a voice spoke. screaming and turning around she saw the long haired boy from the bar, aemond. he was standing near the door with a darkened gaze—‘what?’ y/n started to step back into the sink hoping for some type of space between the two.
he signed and stepped closer—‘he was always reckless i supposed. liked to play with his food’ aemond mumbled. she gasped out and almost fell but he rolled his eyes, not entertained at all, he moved out the way letting her down the hall.
her head was spinning, what was going on? the small ladies lights made her beyond dizzy, it looked like she was falling down a rabbit hole.
her hands on the walls to steady her body, she screamed when aemond was in front of her once more, turning in disbelief at the fact he was once far behind her.
‘what is going on? please just let me go home please!’ she yelled, begging. he tsked and shook his head.
‘i’m afraid that’s not possible, sweet thing. you’ll have to see for yourself soon enough’ screaming when she felt hands on her back she turned to see helaena, she had a look of sorrow on her face.
whimpering when helaena let her cold hand touch her face she felt some sort of calm wash over her, her body beginning to feel tired, her eyes dropping.
‘hm, sweet thing…such a frail life, taken from your hands by me who has no idea of what it is to live’ she whispers, her voice was sweet, loving, angelic. y/n would assume she had children by the way she handled y/n.
all a sudden her body gave in on itself and she fell asleep, the last thing she saw before falling was helaena catching her in her arms.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ 🧛 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
waking up with the sound of yelling she groaned and let her eyes open. looking at the blurry figures of a man and woman and on the other side of the bed aegon.
the woman had long beautiful red hair and the man shoulder length blonde, they much he his parents—‘how could you be so reckless! so stupid to do this to her!’ the woman yelled, pointing at y/n who was currently suffering a headache that seemed to not end, and a strange hunger.
‘how would i know she’d turn that fast! usually i have time, five hours!’ aegon whined as he placed his hand on his head in stress, she was confused again.
his meal? not knowing what life it? turn? y/n groaned and it got the attention of the people. their heads turning to her as she sat up—‘oh, honey please. set down and rest—‘
‘no i must leave..my mother is expecting me—‘
‘no no lay down, sleep..we’ll get you some tea and medicine for your headache, yes?’ the woman pressed her hand on y/n’s shoulder, gently pushing her to the bed and soon her cheek for comfort.
‘what? what’s going on? why can’t i leave?’ y/n mumbled.
‘we tend not to when it’s day out, you will be fine darling just you wait here’ the woman led aegon and his father out of the room, she felt a strange feeling in her stomach once more and winced in pain, her heart however, sadden at the fact aegon had left.
her body cold and shaking she placed a hand on her head and groaned again in pain. soon a knock rang through the room and hurting her head—‘yes?’ she whispered, the door pushing open to show a shaking woman.
she held the tea and a pill for her to take, y/n didn’t know how or why, but she could practically smell her from across the room. not like that however, like smell a sweet bitter smell, a metallic almost.
‘h-here you are, miss.’ the woman said. y/n didn’t know what came over her but she stood up slowly and made her way over to the woman.
‘the tea miss. alicent ordered you to take and the pill to help—ah!’ while she spoke y/n charged for her neck; biting into it and humming in delight, the warm liquid running down her throat and easing her headache and stomach pain, the woman falling down to her knees and the glass cup of tea in her hand breaking y/n held her shoulders and sucked her neck.
moaning when she was done she snapped back and gasped—‘what the fuck? what the fuck!’ y/n screamed while she backed away and fell on her butt.
the door pushing open slowly—‘i knew it, aegon you’ve done it!’ alicent yelled while slapping his shoulder making him wince.
she screamed and cried into her hands, what was going on? why was this happening now? why did it happen to her of all people…was she what she thought she was?
‘yes..you are what your thinking and no there’s no cure’ aegon mumbled while stepping over the maids body.
‘what…no—why? this can’t be happening!’ she cried while unbeknownst to her, her hair was growing white from the roots.
aegon felt bad, he knew the costs of sleeping with her but..he couldn’t help it. she looked like her so much.
‘it is..and i’m sorry it happened to you. but, it’ll be okay, you’ll be fed, and you’ll have me…if that helps—‘
‘why the hell would i want you!’ she yelled, crying into her hands once more.
he winched and looked away, not knowing what to do. he hated seeing people cry because he didn’t know what the hell to do—‘listen..you don’t know it now but things will change all around you, and you’ll need me sooner or later then you expect…’
‘why? why would i need you?’ she wondered, her eyes puffy from tears and her cheeks wet.
‘you’ll know in due time, my love’ he mumbled. his hand going through her mixed color of hair. she shook her head slightly and looked down only to see her hair; platinum hair on her shoulder .
‘what…’ she whispered, picking her hair between her fingers and shaking her head, letting her other hand go to the top of her head and moving all her hair to her shoulders.
‘is my hair…’
‘yes…a side effect’ he told her. she almost cried again but shook her head, turning to him—‘what else will change?’
looking to the side he named a few things, the only ones she highlighted was, couldn’t enter the sun or she’d burn, couldn’t see her reflection because she was dead, her body would be cold to the touch to others, her hair was white, she’d stay this age forever.
forever twenty two.
‘do we die at all? in any way?’ she wondered. he shook his head—‘only by the sun, to the heart or starved’ she nodded slightly and blinked.
‘and…how old are you anyway?’ she wondered.
‘three thousand and twenty two’ she tried not to show her shock but he was pretty sure he could she it, he laughed a bit and shrugged.
‘how did you turn?’
‘my sister, she was bitten by my brother and so on so fourth’ nodding in understanding, y/n would hate to turn her parents.
‘you can stay here…for your parents sake’ y/n looked over at him and nodded—‘wait can you read my mind? you did it back there not too long ago?’ y/n asked, he nodded and helped y/n stand.
‘helaena can control those by the touch, aemond can practically see what your afraid of and use it to his advantage by making you see things, i can read minds, my mother and father however..i don’t know’ y/n nodded at what he was saying as he sat her down on the bed.
‘you should rest…you’ll be in pain sometime soon, your teeth will come in and it will feel as though you are dying’ aegon felt bad beyond words, but all he could do was help and warn her along the way.
‘wait’ she whispered as he went to leave, her hand holing his. letting her pull him in she placed her hand on his cheek and leaned in, kissing him slightly.
it was wierd but she could see something, she could see herself? she could shed the two of them..but she looked different, wore different clothes and so did he.
pulling apart slowly aegon read what she was thinking and smiled—‘we’ll talk about it soon, in time’

The Report Card – Fantasy High Junior Year Ep 17
It’s Emily Axford’s World, We’re Just Living in It
Welcome back to Fantasy High where this monster 3+ hour bombshell of an episode is dropping during one of the busiest weeks of my life! There is SO much going on in this episode that I’m absolutely going to have to speed through things to get this out before the next episode but I’ll try to hit on all of the most important points. OK, ready, set, let’s go!
We closed out last ep in the middle of downtime where we learned that Jace had a scar from being infected with a rage crystal shatter star and from there we still have a bunch more downtime to get through. Highlights!
Riz investigates the footage from the crystal cam and again has the feeling that he needs to go back to his office and check out any open-ended clues because he’s missing something.
Gorgug tries to work on a way to harness the power of the Night Yorb’s darkness since it’s trapped in his van since they’ll probably be fighting a solar deity soon. He does mention it to Henry but not why he’s doing it. He also looks into the Cloud Rider and confirms with the Aviation Club goblin kid that it would be powerful enough to lift the Hangman (referring not to the motorcycle, but to Bill’s ship which is now Seacaster manor).
Fig writes another Ankarna themed song and rolls an insane 37. That’s powerful enough that she’s able to commune with Ankarna in her dreams. She calms the distressed Ankarana with the paladin spell Atonement and by commiserating that both of their girlfriends are “out of town”. Ankarna calls Fig her hero and says that “She’s always known” before she wakes up.
Fig keeps haunting Ruben's dreams but they're abjured so she can't straight up talk to him. In his dream, she sees his house in Elmville and feels rage as well as fear. She sees a glade in Far Haven Woods and a scared pre-emo Ruben which makes her think that that's where they did whatever they did to kick things off and that maybe the old Ruben is still trapped somewhere.
She then goes full Emily Axford and–along with the help of Fabian, British Kristen, Gorgug, and Adaine–goes to Ruben’s house and FAKES THE DEATH OF WANDA CHILDA BY KIPPERLILLY. Once she’s “dead” Adaine casts Enlarge on Gorgug and throws a cloak on him so he can take her away the in the same way Buddy’s body was taken away. It’s the performance of a lifetime with a 34 but the craziest part is they know someone was watching through the window but they have no idea who it was. InSANE. Imagine if it’s just Kipperlilly watching from Ruben’s window like ???????
Finally she gets Eugenia to design a tattoo for Fabian’s bday that will let him cast Ghost Step. She’s gonna secretly tattoo it on him because sure why not.
Kristen talks to a very stressed Jawbone who has been dealing with a lot of angry kids lately which is, como se dice, troubling considering the whole rage god situation. She downloads him on everything going on and reveals that she was gonna try to have British Kristen steal files so she can see if the addresses of the angry kids form a 24 pointed star but instead she helps Jawbone clean his office and asks if she can have the addresses. He can’t give out student info but he says he’ll check a map and see if they form a star as well as checking on Jace. Kristen tells him to be super careful because the last teacher they talked to was Yolanda, RIP. (He also mentions the Sophomore Year Hotel Cav fight as being a weird thing that happened and the murder attempt of Lydia–things that we’ve already flagged as loose ends. We’ll get back to this).
Bobby Dawn is freaking out because they can’t find Buddy’s soul in corn heaven. Kristen reveals that he’s not in corn heaven and in fact is following a new god (after confirming he doesn’t have a rage crystal). Bobby Dawn thinks he’s being punked–especially once Kristen says the new god is her god’s ex-wife–but Kristen is being pretty sincere (so sincere that Murph is melting into a puddle anticipating she’s about to give the game away to one of their least fave NPCs–imo, she didn’t give away anything game ending but she was def playing with fire). Bobby tells Kristen to call him if there’s anything he can do to help find Buddy and Kristen dips to go talk to “[her] friend Murph.” Not Riz, Murph the irl guy, lol. As that happens, Bobby goes to have a whisper convo with his wife Pam who is also there. Suspicious.
Riz/Murph makes the connection that Lake Shimmerstone is called that because of the gem filaments that flow from the Mountains of Chaos. It's a classic "no rolls necessary" moment.
Kristen finally checks the bylaws and sees that the major change made was that there is no longer any inaugural period post election. So once the votes are counted, whoever wins is president right away. It was a change by Mazey requested by a faculty member--they think Jace.
Kristen checks on her brother finally and it doesn't seem like he has a rage crystal but he's pretty bummed that he hasn't been able to convert any of his friends despite being a good paladin. He's also having a little existential crisis because he has non Helioic friends who don't actually seem like scary heathens. But then he was warned that sin might be tempting. Kristen tells him that she understands and that he has to decide whether he knows himself better than their parents. She says she's always around to talk. She then does a Relaxation roll and loses 3 stress tokens! Brennan also has her roll a d6 for the Relationship track roll with Buddy and on a 6, loses her final stress token!
Like Fig, Kristen also gets to commune with her goddess. Cass says that she's trapped and the king will come to Spyre. She says her wife's "fiery hand" grasps her in death and she has to protect her from the upcoming destruction--but she can't do it as herself. She tells Kristen that Ankarna has a champion as well and when Kristen asks who Cass says she already knows the champion. Finally, she urges her to look into what Kalina said because there was to be a good reason for her saying Ragh’s name.
I’m going to leave the bullets for a moment (largely because Tumblr gets mad at blocks of text that are too big) to say that Adaine and Fig go to Ayda’s geocache and find an insane amount of spell components which would have been super useful earlier in the year. It also has instruments for Fig including a new bass that Brennan says he’ll get Emily the item card for ASAP. Back to bullets!
In his research, Riz finds the location in the Mountains of Chaos of the Temple of the Fallen Sun where Lydia's party members stopped in their travels.
Riz looking into the Loam files sees that the person they're after must have had some ability to stun their opponents which is probably the reason for the lack of defensive wounds. He also learns that Ruvina's festival was called the Festival of Frost which sounds a lot like Frosty Fair.
He finds some text about something called the War of Shattered Stones which apparently took place around when Ankarna's domain changed.
On a hunch that there is more going on with the rat grinding than meets the eye, the whole gang takes a field trip to Lake Shimmerstone and Riz finds evidence that at some point the Rat Grinders were taken here while a massive giant was fighting deadly monsters. That doesn’t make sense so they call in some rats to question who tell them that there was a giant fighting these monsters and basically leaving the killing blows to the Rat Grinders so they’d get the XP–which is mechanically insane diegetically but we’re gonna ignore that. The rats also confirm that this was when Lucy was still around. The Bad Kids think that the RG’s made a deal with this giant (who the rats say is a guy btw) to get powered up and they got crystals as their end of the bargain.
OK, that basically wraps up downtime. One more piece of business before we head to the Temple of the Fallen Sun! Zara has a talk with Fig where after heaping praise on her, she passes along a message–the appearance of a surprise meteor shower which was arranged by Ayda and is the most romantic thing ever. I won’t recap it, just watch it yourself. I can’t do it justice. Before Fig leaves for some hot tub time, Zara asks about Fig’s evaluation and Fig assures her she already turned it in.
Time for a griffon road trip! And strap in because this is a MEATY lore dump. Sandra Lynn brings everyone on griffons to the Temple of The Fallen Sun and Riz brings his files because he can’t shake the feeling that he’s missing something.
They find this infernal temple littered with humanoid bones and Fig can tell with her divine sense that it's a temple to Ankarna. There is a place where Ankarna’s name was destroyed and replaced with a Ranger’s symbol that says: Do Not Enter. Fallen Temple. There’s also evidence that someone tried to rewrite Ankarna’s name but it’s not her actual name. It’s the glyph that means her but isn’t her actual name. Which suggests that there’s a group of Ankarna followers that are trying to do stuff involving her but that don’t know her name.
Everyone who can loads up on Truesight and See Invisibility before they enter the temple. There are a bunch of pretty good Investigation checks but, in particular, Riz gets a 32 and Fig gets a Nat 20.
Fig sees a vision (and Adaine can see it too--I assume as elven oracle she can just piggyback on anyone else having visions lol) of two giantkin wearing robes with a sun emblem being executed by armored individuals wearing robes with a fiery emblem on it. This temple was built right when Ankarna's domain was changing. They’re seeing the old priests of Ankarna being executed by the new ones.
It's clear that this temple was built as a part of a state religion--the focus on conquest and strength is very empire-y. Adaine sees some writing in Giant and casts Comprehend Language so she can read it. There’s a bunch about the War of Shattered Stone and some new stuff about the temple being built for the glory of the House of Sunstone. They walk through the temple and see all this awful equipment for torture and execution. They get the sense that this is where Ankarna was changed. Her new followers did a bunch of heinous stuff in her name to force her to become infernal. As above, so below and all.
Adaine casts Legend Lore and Brennan basically salivates. 30 seconds later, Riz rolls a Nat 20 to Investigate his files. So we’re about to crack this whole thing wide open folks. Let’s do this!
Fig and Kristen explore a chamber and Kristen's shards glow so bright she has to wrap fabric around them so they don't hurt peoples' eyes. They realize that their goddesses have been in this room together before. It's where they got divorced. Fig sees a vision of a bunch of Cass's followers dropping their weapons and backing up slowly and then being brutally slaughtered by the new guard of Ankarna.
Adaine's Legend Lore starts: Sunstone was the top clan of the giants and conquered all the others--Thunderfist, Hornspear, Moonspeak, and Frostblade (Lucy’s ancestors). Ships got better which meant people started mingling and so did their gods. Ankarna and Cassandra got married. Things were good for a while but the leaders of the church of Sol didn't like having two sun gods in their pantheon so they whispered in the ears of some of the Sunstone guys that maybe conquest was the way to go (this was when they started conquering the other clans).
Clan Frostblade rose up to fight because Ruvina was so concerned with stopping her sister and at the sundering of the Cliff's of Colcath, House Sunstone was destroyed.
At this point, Riz realizes the thing he was missing in his files and it’s the thing we noticed ages ago. The weird moment in Sophomore Year. How did Ragh get cursed so he could see Kalina in the first place? Brennan plays the clip, looking like the cat who ate the canary. Porter did “Barbarian Healing” on him. That’s not a real thing. Lay on Hands is though. Porter is the one who infected Ragh. Emily, who has hated this man from day one, is LIVING.
Back to the Legend Lore: The sundering of the Cliffs of Colcath. Sundering as in breaking. As in Cliffbreaker–Porter’s last name.
They start putting things together. Him telling Fig he's a paladin to his ancestors. Gorgug sees him smite a giant stone with the force that would be needed to fell a bunch of trees in the woods. Disasuding Fig from being a paladin of Cass. His connection to Jace from the start. The large figure healing Buddy? He’s big as hell and Paladins can revivify. And Ankarna telling Fig that she’s known all along.
The Legend Lore Concludes: After the sundering at the cliffs, the remaining Sunstones changed their names (to Cliffbreaker) and went into hiding. The Frostblades destroyed Ankarna's name to free her from the corruption (but I guess that went a little too far and backfired). The name was lost but a lot of Ankarna's true followers waited for her return. That includes Bakur who the Bad Kids realize was trying to bring back not infernal, ragey Ankarna but sunny justice Ankarna. But he was stopped by her mortal followers.
Sandra Lynn watching all of this is like, “Well shit,” and points out that if the world isn’t already in chaos they must not have everything they need yet. The Bad Kids figure the opposition must be missing the name and a successful election. The election is in four days so that’s how long they have to stop it. In one final sick fusion of bard and paladin, Fig uses a riff from her base to uncover an older image of Ankarna and Cassandra pre-corruption and then they head back home.
(Note: This comes up later retroactively but before they leave, they also check for footprints and see recent ones of Porter, Jace, and Buddy. It looks like they teleported in.)
Kristen casts Sending to warn Jawbone that Porter is bad news and then they speculate some more. There was a question in an earlier episode about what does it actually mean that Ankarna died in the Red Waste. They figure out that it means that the last follower who remembered her name was killed there.
They talk to Bakur who says again that he was betrayed by Ankarna’s mortal followers. He also mentions that even in her infernal state, she would refuse to grant her followers spells when they had plans to hurt her sister or wife (even when Ruvina’s followers were attacking her).
Bakur realized that Ankarna's followers were interested in her power but not in her. Bakur also overheard conversation from Lydia's party that said that Ankarna needed to be remade in a place where a god has been borne. A god. Any god. Riz flashes back to Kipperlilly Jawbone asking where Yes! was borne.
Fig with some help from Adaine makes a fake version of Ankarna's name to give to Porter--Bacharath written in Giant. While Fig goes to give this to Porter, Adaine is hiding outside with Detect Thoughts on and Riz is hiding nearby invisible and recording.
Fig finds Porter and tells him and she found a new god and found her name but it’s annoying because she can’t read Giant which she needs to do to rez the god. She does it really casually and acts like it’s no big deal and Porter tries to play it cool but Adaine can tell with her Detect Thoughts that he’s chomping at the bit to get that name. She makes sure that Fig crits on her Deception with a portent. He (not at all) causally offers to help Fig translate and snatches the piece of paper from her. Fig then challenges him to spar and he agrees. Brennan asks for a Con roll and when Porter stomps his foot, everyone is immediately stunned (remember the mention of the stun effect and not defensive wounds earlier). Everyone but Riz who rolled a Nat 20. So he keeps his Invisibility. He also gets a high enough luck check to feel that there is someone else invisible nearby, close to Fig and Porter (note: later, Brennan tells Adaine that while she had Detect Thoughts up, for a moment she could detect the thoughts of an invisible KP).
The last thought Adaine gets from Porter as her concentration drops on Detect Thoughts is, “Did I lock the office?”
Porter helps Fig up and doesn’t actually fight her but it feels like they just saw Porter do a Legendary Action which is a weird thing for a teacher to do–even a strong one. Fig asks what the hell that was and Porter plays it coy, saying senior year is gonna be really exciting. Riz is absolutely not having that non-answer and Misty Steps into Porter’s office. With his high investigation, he just finds everything so back to bullets:
There’s a note where he’s intimidating Halo St. Croix (the paladin teacher) into letting him teach the multiclass paladins.
There are MCATs signed for him to teach both Lucy and Buddy paladin lessons.
There’s an encrypted message between Porter and Bobby Dawn where Bobby is basically saying he’s very happy for Sol to remain the ONLY god of the sun in town but a new war god? That could be OK. He also suggests Porter look into Devil’s Honey for his plan.
There's medicine to help with a psychosomatic allergic to feline dandruff (prob Kalina related).
There’s filo dough–the kind you use to make baklava (a honey based dessert).
There’s a leather cord, probably used in the casting of Spy’s Tongue Curse than smells rank.
There are tons of blenders full of whey, protein powder, and ambrosia–food of the gods. Together, they piece together that mortals aren’t supposed to eat ambrosia because it kills them. Not in a violent way–they just ascend to the afterlife. They figure that Porter is basically eating god supplements, with the intention of supplanting Ankarna and becoming the new god of rage. Explains why he suddenly has legendary actions.
There’s some cryptic, vague communication with the Rat Grinders which doesn’t give much away but is enough to tip them off that Ruben’s house is the place where they plan things.
With that they go to investigate Ruben’s place. Before they go, Riz sets up a dead man’s switch that will release evidence if he doesn’t stop it–just in case they get trapped or held up or something. Adaine also calls her sister so she can cast a bunch of protective wards on Fabian’s place–she’s a master abjuration wizard after all.
Riza goes in first and disables all the traps in Ruben’s house which means they won’t get caught but the RG’s will know someone was there later. Here’s everything they find and, like the rest of this episode, it’s a lot:
Adaine finds Oisin’s workstation and most notably finds a picture of his dragon ancestor hanging out with Kalvaxus, some notes about the Cloud Rider, and notes about stealing summons from other people (remember Adaine's mephits going haywire at Fabian's party). There's also some notes about a way to write telekinetically on the inside of a sphere. They’re not sure what that means.
In Ruben's sound studio, they find notes from Porter helping Ruben write the song Get Mad--the song he did at Frosty Fair.
Gorgug hacks into their private servers and sees all their communications. KP insists that they only call Cass the Nightmare King and (presumably) refers to Porter as the "Big Guy". She says he wants the Nightmare King and should have her locked down sooner rather than later just as soon as she shows herself in the Astral Plane. There's also stuff from last year where KP is really excited. She says the Big Guy has been looking out for them for a while and she's hyping Lucy up saying she gets to be the champion (something we know she didn't want). KP is specifically excited that this will allow them to keep up with the Bad Kids. Jace is also mentioned as a conspirator under the acronym JSD which isn’t slick at all lol.
Kristen sees evidence of Buddy helping with a ritual and stuff about where a god was "borne" (spelled correctly) so clearly they know a lot about what's going on. She also finds out what KP wants to do once she's President: she wants to shut down Aguefort as a school forever which will nullify the protections and wards it has centered on it, the big one being that Elmville can't be moved to any other plane of existence while school is in session. They think the Rat Grinders want to teleport the whole town–perhaps to set up a divine domain. Which would need followers–specifically angry followers. IDK about y’all but I feel like being randomly teleported to the Astral Plane would make ME pretty angry.
There are texts post Lucy but pre Buddy where they're like what are we gonna do now? There's a "We're all in this together now" vibe (like some kind of twisted High School Musical) and they resolve to "talk to the Big Guy"
We learn Buddy was chosen for the same reason Lucy was a good candidate–connection to Ankarna. Lucy because Ruvina was her sister and Buddy because of similar domains (Helio’s domain is a Solar offshoot). Also I didn’t mention this before but Buddy did *not* know what he was doing. Oisin and Ivy are joking about his cluelessness behind his back (Booooo I was rooting for you dude).
There’s a message from Jace telling them to stop antagonizing the Bad Kids even though they want revenge which leads the Bad Kids to question what they ever did to them.
In Oisin's room they also find a lot of stuff about dragons and an image of a fetal god being protected by the Nightmare King. Also they remember how cloudy the Nightmare King's realm was (maybe a cloud rider connection?)
Deep breath, this is a lot of stuff and we’re almost done.
There's stuff about the Thistulespring tree and Ruben’s song spreading the rage vibes that represent the crystals in the ground.
They realize that Porter is probably using the Devil's Honey to lie to Ankarna about his intentions as he's communicating with her.
They see that for the ritual they needed a body (Porter), Ankarna's name, the protective storm of the NIghtmare King, and his name inscribed by the champion of the old goddess. They realize that’s why Zara never got her eval. Fig is the champion and she did Porter and Zara’s eval on the same sheet which he swiped for this ritual. He literally made Fig a paladin so he could get what he needed. Diabolical. Aguefort needs better hiring practices.
OK. Phew. Finally done. They head out and the next day is election day. Porter isn’t at school that day which is not surprising but is concerning. They don’t see the RG’s either. After school it’s time for the big party/election at Fabian’s place. Mazey gets a booth set up and Jawbone is there as faculty to make it legit. Aelwyn has warded up the place. Fig is there as Wanda cause she’s a maniac. Adaine is casting Detect Magic continually at the voting booth to watch for shenanigans. Also Ragh shows up and he aced his tryouts! He’s gonna be a profesh bloodrush player! Hoot growl all around!
But Riz (and honestly Murph) is unsettled. Everyone’s at this party where Fabian’s victory is a sure thing? All in one location together? Rat Grinders nowhere to be seen? This is WAY too easy.
Which is Brennan’s cure to drop the other shoe.
Things are just like Adaine's visions...until they're not. The sky was always clear in her visions and now storm clouds are brewing. She gets a Sending spell from someone, "You didn't see the storm coming? Must not be a very good Oracle." Oisin. Suddenly, ping pong balls with runes inside of them start raining down from where they've been stuck in the unkept Seacaster manor for months. From when Oisin "missed" his shots. Telekinetic writing inside a sphere. Runes inside ping pong balls. As they fall, there's a sudden lurch. Winds kick up and Seacaster manor is flying above Elmville. Everyone rolls initiative!
I’m not doing proper Honor Roll/Detention this week because this was such a long episode and I'm exhausted. Honestly, Honor Roll for me for getting this up in time. Detention for Fabian for not using is 10k gold allowance to have someone clean his house in the past 9 months.
Random Notes
Gonna just stick to a few plot relevant ones to keep this brief.
Re: Adaine not seeing the storm in the same way that the previous oracle couldn't. I wonder if that’s just a blanket thing that weather evades predictions or if they did the same thing that was done during Kal’s plan to evade that oracle's sight before Aelwyn sunk her ship.
I don’t think I made it clear but Porter def killed Yolanda according to this ep.
Porter’s Legendary Action is able to stun someone for multiple rounds which in combat would be devastating.
I’m shocked they never tried to talk to Ruvina at any point during the campaign.
I am still VERY concerned about Riz being made staff by Jace and given silver. That feels suspicious given we know he’s on Team Porter Ascension.
I didn’t get into it because it was nebulous and would have messed with the flow of the recap but there was something there about teleportation circles and the Rat Grinders continually casting teleport to make a circle and maybe that’s how they’re gonna get Elmville into the Astral Plane. Just mentioning it in case it comes up again.
I don’t think we got closure on the “where the god was borne” thing. Because borne means carried, not created, right? I wonder if Seacaster manor would count because the corpse of Yes! Was brought there by Ankarna.
The Rat Grinders and Porter have at least 2 obstacles they don’t know about. They don’t have the real name (unless they got in since Fig gave Porter the fake one) and Fig is literally domain squatting on Ankarna’s domain. She already called dibs so any claiming will have to go through her.
I think it’s really nice that Adaine tried to do a relaxation track for Kristen. Handshake meme, her and Riz.
Emily insisting so hard and consistently that Porter was evil that Brennan just made him evil has some real as above/so below energy lol.

The Grave Cleric
Butcher x Supe!reader
Tumblr media
The Grave Cleric:
Gods of the grave watch over the line between life and death. To these deities, death and the afterlife are a foundational part of the multiverse. To desecrate the peace of the dead is an abomination. Followers of these deities seek to put wandering spirits to rest, destroy the undead, and ease the suffering of the dying. Their magic also allows them to stave off death for a time, particularly a person who still has some great work to accomplish but cannot stave it off forever.
Imagine Butcher with a Supe that hears voices. You are sort of a Banshee, who feels when someone is about to die or the feelings and struggles of others. Imagine like a Lydia Martin/Wanda Maximoff/ Helaena Targaryen kind of character:
You would live an isolated life once she manages to get away from Vought and their scientists.
The Boys would go to you for help and she would try to get rid of them. However, they pull you into their shit and you would get overwhelmed with being around so many people in New York, unable after such a long time in isolation to block out the noises of other people.
You would brush up on other people while walking by and get this awful feeling like something is about to happen. It would be too much for you and you would freak out, getting a panic attack.
Butcher would not know what to do at first. But take you by the arm and guide you out of the crowd into an alley. “Hey, look at me luv, would ya’?” You would try to breathe in deeply, covering your ears, shaking. “I can hear them. I can hear them all, they are screaming.” You would pull away from Butcher, holding your head shaking back and forth, pressed against the dirty alleyway wall. “I can’t! Make it stop. Please make it stop.” You would sob. “Look at me, sweetheart, just look at me.” He would step closer to you. Trying to calm you down but not knowing how. Through your tears you would look up at him. “Just focus on me.” He would step closer, putting a hand on your shoulder. You would lean your head onto his hand on your shoulder. “That’s it. Concentrate on me, would ya’. Ain’t that better now.” You would feel his warmth. Slowly you closed your eyes, breathing in slowly, and reaching out to touch his heart. You felt the steady beat. Thud, thud, thud. Your breathing evened out. The voices are getting quieter. Finally, you managed to block out the voices, slowly you looked up at him. The sadness in your eyes struck a chord in him. He slowly pulled you to him. Wrapping you completely in his arms, caressing your back.
Ever since this incident you would reach out and hold his hand whenever you got overwhelmed, concentrating on him. It would help you quiet the noise and overtime the feeling of his hand in yours became your biggest comfort. Butcher was surprised himself that he was so accepting of you as a Supe. But he soon realized you two were so similar. He too had voices in his head, and sometimes they had a hold on him. But just like you he found comfort in you being there.
The boys would shoot Butcher a smirk the first time they saw you two hold hands in the crowd. You had not seen it and Butcher shot them all a glare to make sure they did not dare to say some dumb shit. He was not in the mood to punch someone but he would.
Slowly the hand holding became cuddling on the couch while watching a movie. Then holding each other after a nightmare and over time not just when one of you had a bad dream.
Never had he imagined he would come to love a Supe.

Peter stands over the bloody and unconscious bodies of Y/n and Lydia, Stiles on his knees near them. Now that Peter has the information he wanted, he wants to go and take Stiles with him. "No, I'm- I'm not just letting you leave them here."
"You don't have a choice, Stiles. You're coming with me." He wipes the blood from his chin.
"Just kill me. Look, I don't care anymore."
Peter steps up to Stiles and puts his claw under the boys chin, making him stand up. "Call your friend." He lowers his hand. "Tell Jackson where they are. That's all you get." Knowing that this is the best he'll get Stiles pulls out his phone and calls Jackson, only telling him that the girls are badly hurt and that he needs to get them. Peter strides off and Stiles takes one more look at Y/n before he reluctantly follows the man.
Y/n stirs. The first thing she's aware of is that everything hurts. She shifts a bit and groans. She opens her eyes and they still glow their vibrant amethyst, her magic already working to heal her. She carefully hovers her hands over the slashes to help speed it along enough for her to move. As soon as she's able she gets up and looks around. Stiles and Peter are gone, but Lydia is still here. "Lydia." She breathes and moves to check her over. She puts a hand on her head and sighs after a moment. She'll be alright.
Y/n looks up when she sees movement out of the corner of her eye from afar. Jackson is coming for them. She can't go to the hospital, she'll heal too fast and she doesn't want to deal with questions about that or her eyes. With a grunt of effort she stands and then, with a bit of assistance from her magic, she runs away and to the woods. Jackson will get Lydia help. For now she needs to help herself. Jackson doesn't see her leave, his focus on Lydia when he sees what state she's in and carries her back to the school for help.
Y/n keeps running until her legs give out and she collapses, leaning her back on a tree as she takes labored breathes. Her hands grip where she was impaled, slashes nearly done healing with only pink scars that will soon fade to nothing in another hour or so. She leans her head back, closing her eyes with a sudden dry sob. Everything is going so wrong and she blames herself. If she had just listened to her senses, Lydia might not have been hurt and Stiles wouldn't be God knows where with a psycho.
"Stiles..."
...
The blue Jeep speeds down the road, Stiles is tense as he drives while Peter casually looks out the window from the passenger side. Stiles sighs and Peter looks over. "Don't feel bad. Your girlfriend will be healed soon enough." He says nonchalantly.
"You don't know that. You didn't bite her." He says this, yet his mind goes to her eyes.
"The Bite would do nothing for someone like her."
"What do you mean 'someone like her'?" Stiles doesn't understand, but he can guess that maybe Y/n isn't human like he thought.
Peter just gives him a smile, not intending to answer him and Stiles lets it go with another sigh. "You know, if the red head lives, she'll become a werewolf. She'll be incredibly powerful."
"Yeah, and once a month, she'll go out of her freaking mind and try to tear people apart."
"Well, actually, considering that she's a woman... Twice a month." Stiles looks over at him in disbelief, very much not appreciating the joke. They eventually pull into a parking garage. They get out and Peter quickly rounds the car to grab Stiles by his collar and pull him along. He stops at the back of a car a few spaces down and Peter pulls keys from his pocket.
"Whose car is this?"
"It belonged to my nurse." Peter simply replies as he starts to open the trunk.
"What happened to your n- oh, my God!" Stiles jumps back when the trunk is opened and the body of Jennifer is revealed. Peter grabs the bag from under her arm and hands it to Stiles, the teen too stunned to look away.
Peter looks between Stiles and the body for a second. "I got better." Is all he answered him with before he closed the trunk. He soon set up for Stiles to track Scott's phone and find Derek.
"Good luck getting a signal down here." And then Peter hands him a small device. "Oh, MiFi." He takes it and Peter opens up a laptop. "And you're a Mac guy. Does that go for all werewolves, or just personal preference?"
Peter ignores his remarks. "Turn it on. Get connected."
"You know, you're really killing the whole werewolf mystique thing here." He gets to work. "Look, you still need Scott's username and password, and I'm sorry, but I don't know them."
"You know both of them."
"No, I don't." Stiles still denies.
"Even if I couldn't hear your heartbeat, I would still be able to tell that you're lying."
"Dude, I swear to God-" He's cut off by an exclamation of pain as Peter roughly shoves his face onto the keyboard.
"I can be very persuasive, Stiles. Don't make me persuade you."
Stiles doesn't need the 'persuading' as Peter lets him go and Stiles types away. "What happens after you find Derek?"
"Don't think, Stiles. Type." He demands.
"You're gonna kill people, aren't you?"
"Only the responsible ones."
"Look, if I do this, you have to promise to leave Scott out of it."
"Do you know why wolves hunt in packs?" Stiles lightly rolls his eyes at the impromptu lesson. "It's because their favorite prey are too large to be brought down by one wolf alone. I need Derek and Scott. I need both of them."
"He's not gonna help you."
"Oh, he will. Because it'll save Allison. And you will, because it will save Scott. Your best friend whom you know so well, you even have his username and password." Stiles sighs. He has no choice, he has to put them in. He taps seven keys and Peter looks a bit bemused. "His username is 'Allison'?" Stiles presses seven more keys. "His password is also 'Allison'?" He looks unimpressed now.
"Still want him in your pack?" He raises a brow at Peter.
...
Y/n is healed now, eyes having dimmed to e/c, but she's still in the same spot she was when she collapsed. She keeps thinking about how she messed up, what she didn't do and what she could have done. It's not normal for her to be plagued with so much self-doubt, but in a situation like this, it's very normal.
She knows Lydia will be fine, for now at least, but what about Stiles and Scott? Stiles was with Peter, which, in and of itself, wasn't good at all, but she hadn't seen Scott since the dance. What happened after he left for Allison? Nothing good she guessed. This whole night has been no good.
She perks up a bit when she hears a distant howl. Scott is calling for Derek. A few minutes go by before another howl rings through the air. Derek is calling back.
She finally looks down at her hands. What is she doing here? Scott is out there trying to help Derek and she's just sitting here beating herself for nothing. Yes, she didn't do something then, but she can do something now. And this time, she's ready. She clenches her fists and looks up in determination. She stands up and looks around for a moment trying to decide what to do, but a twinge in her chest decides for her. Scott can handle Derek. Right now, she needs to find Stiles.
...
"Wait, what the- that's where they're keeping him?" Stiles asks, confused at what he's seeing on the screen. "At his own house?"
Peter squints at the screen in thought until a look of realization dawns on his face. "Not at it. Under it. I know exactly where that is." A distant howl makes him turn his head. "And I'm not the only one." Peter gathers the tech and puts it in the back of the car, another howl reaching his ears as he closes the door. "Give me your keys."
Stiles sighs and fishes his keys from his pocket, holding them for Peter to take. "Careful. She grinds in second." Stiles assumes he's wanting to take the Jeep, but all Peter does is bend them so that they're unusable. Stiles takes them back in disbelief as Peter moves to the driver's seat of the late nurse's car. "So you're not gonna kill me?" Peter looks at him and takes a few steps making Stiles shrink back a bit. "Okay, I-"
"Don't you understand yet? I'm not the bad guy here."
"You turn into a giant monster with red eyes and fangs, and you're not the bad guy here?"
"I like you, Stiles." Stiles sighs. "Since you've helped me, I'm going to give you something in return. Do you want the Bite?"
"What?" Stiles asks after a moment.
"Do you want the Bite?" He repeats a bit slower. "If it doesn't kill you, and it could, you'll become like us."
"Like you."
"Yes, a werewolf. Would you like me to draw you a picture? That first night in the woods, I took Scott because I needed a new pack. It could've easily been you. You'd be every bit as powerful as him. No more standing by his side, watching him become stronger, and quicker, more popular, watching him get the girl. You'd be equals. Or maybe more." He takes Stiles' wrist and holds it up. Stiles doesn't resist, seemingly falling into the web woven by Peter's silver tongue. "Yes or no?" Stiles doesn't say yes, but he also doesn't say no. Peter takes that as a yes and opens his mouth, fangs bared, and brings his wrist closer. But then Stiles yanks his arm back from the wolf's grip.
"I don't wanna be like you."
"Do you know what I heard just then? Your heart beating slightly faster over the words 'I don't want'. You may believe that you're telling me the truth, but you are lying to yourself. Goodbye, Stiles." Peter gets in the car and drives away leaving Stiles by himself. He has a moment of pause, what do I do now? Then it hits him. The hospital. He looks at his Jeep and his ruined keys before he breaks out into a sprint, running the whole way there.
When he finally gets to the hospital he squeezes past the elevator doors before they're fully open because he's desperate to see if they're okay. He rushes forward towards Lydia's room because that's the first one he sees, but his dad stops him. "You know what? It's a good thing that we're in a hospital, because I'm gonna kill you." Noah says angrily.
"I'm- I'm sorry. I lost the keys to my Jeep. I had to run all the way here."
"Stiles, I don't care!"
"Are they gonna be okay?"
"They? Who's they? Are you telling me someone else besides Lydia is hurt out there?"
"Y/n... she's not-?" Stiles trails off suddenly confused, but then shakes his head. He's stuck between being relieved that maybe she was okay and worried about where she was and if she actually was okay. "Nevermind. I-I thought... Is Lydia gonna be okay?"
Noah glances back at the girl in the hospital bed, looking back with a small sigh. "They don't know, partially because they don't know what happened. She lost a lot of blood, but there's something else going on with her."
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"The doctors say it's like she's having an allergic reaction. Her body keeps going into shock. Did you see anything? I mean, do you have any idea who or what attacked her?"
Stiles looks at his dad for a moment. Yes, he knows, but he can't tell Noah that because he wouldn't believe him, so he has to lie. Again. "No. No, I have no idea."
"What about Scott or Y/n?"
Stiles glances over the mention of the girl and instead focuses on the fact Scott wasn't there. "What do you mean? What about Scott?"
"Did he see anything?"
"What do you- is he not here?"
"What are you talking about? I've been calling him on his cell phone. I've gotten no response."
Stiles looks down and then at Jackson over Noah's shoulder. Jackson just gives a shrug saying 'I don't know'. Stiles sighs. "Yeah, you're not gonna get one."
Eventually Stiles gets Noah to tell him about his investigation, that Lydia had nothing to do with an almost ten-year-old arson case. He definitively decided it was arson when he got a key witness, one he won't tell Stiles the identity of. He tells Stiles that it was probably organized by a young woman who wore a defining pendant and that she's in her late 20's by now. Noah has to take a call and Stiles rubs his head in frustration trying to think, and then suddenly he pieces it together.
"Oh."
"Hey, where are you going?" Jackson asks Stiles as he follows him through the hospital.
"To find Scott and Y/n."
"You don't have a car."
"I'm aware of that. Thank you."
"Here, I'll drive. Come on-" Jackson puts a hand on Stiles' shoulder making him stop and round on him.
"Look, just because you feel guilty all of a sudden doesn't make it okay, all right? Half of this is still your fault."
"Look, I have a car. You don't. Do you want my help or not?"
"All right." He finally relents. "Did you bring the Porsche?"
"Yeah." He pulls the keys from his pocket.
"Good. I'll drive." He snatches the keys from Jackson's hand.
They go to continue walking, but stop when they see Chris Argent and two more Hunters. "Boys. I was wondering if you can tell me where Scott McCall is."
"Scott McCall? Um... Haven't seen him since the dance." Stiles plays it cool.
"Hmm."
"Jackson, you?" Stiles keeps his eyes on the man in front of them.
"Uh... I... Uh..." Jackson can not play it cool for even a second.
"Oh, for the love of God." Stiles knows they're screwed. They throw the teens into an empty room and lock the doors.
Chris holds Stiles against the door. "Let me ask you a question, Stiles. Have you ever seen a rabid dog?"
"No. I can put it on my to-do list if you just let me go."
"Well, I have, and the only thing I've ever been able to compare it to is seeing a friend of mine turn on a full moon. Do you wanna know what happened?"
"Not really. No offense to your storytelling skills."
"He tried to kill me, and I was forced to put a bullet in his head." He enunciates his words by roughly tapping on Stiles forehead. "The whole while that he lay there dying, he was still trying to claw his way toward me, still trying to kill me, like it was the most important thing he could do with his last breath. Can you imagine that?"
Stiles shakes his head. "No. And it sounds like you need to be a little bit more select-"
He cuts Stiles off by slamming his hands into the door behind him. "Did Scott try to kill you on the full moon? Did you have to lock him up?"
"Yeah, I did. I had to handcuff him to a radiator. Why? Would you prefer I locked him in the basement and burned the whole house down around him?"
Chris points a finger and gives a small chuckle. "I hate to dispel a popular rumor, Stiles, but we never did that."
"Oh, right. Derek said you guys had a code. I guess no one ever breaks it."
"Never."
"What if someone does?"
"Someone like who?"
"Your sister." Chris clenches his jaw as he looks at the teen.
He eventually lets the boys go and leaves after he made Stiles explain what he meant. Stiles and Jackson stand in the hall for a moment to just recover from that ordeal. "Stiles!" A sudden call of his name from a familiar voice makes him whip his head towards the sound, a sharp sigh of relief when he sees Y/n running to him. He stumbles a bit when she throws herself at him and hugs him tightly, his arms going around her just as tight. "I'm so glad you're okay." She breathed.
"Me okay? Are you okay?" He pulls away from her, his hands still holding onto her biceps to look her over. There's not a scratch on her, not a drop of blood, even her dress was mended, no sign of the claws that had torn the fabric to shreds. "What- how-"
"There's no time to explain right now. I promise I will tell you anything and everything, but we need to find Scott." He wants answers now, but he knows she's right so he nods and they all race to Jackson's car.
...
Kate has tried to get Allison to kill Scott and Derek yet she couldn't do it. When she went to do it herself Chris showed up and stopped her saying he knew what she did. Chris makes her lower her gun from Scott and then the door to the Hale house opened. Peter rushes past them in a blur. He knocks down Chris, then Allison, and lastly Scott, leaving Kate standing alone. He catches her right before she shoots him and he makes her drop it, throwing her onto the porch of the house. He drags her inside and Allison follows. He has Kate by the neck, claws poised to kill, and he makes a deal with Kate. Apologize for decimating his family and leaving him burned and broken for years and he'll let Allison live.
"I'm sorry." Kate breathes. A second later Peter slices her neck open, letting her fall to the ground to bleed out. Peter looks at Allison and decides that her apology didn't sound very sincere. He took a step towards her, but stops when Scott and Derek come in, shifted and ready. Scott tells Allison to run and she does, a moment later the two Betas charge at the Alpha. The three fight as Allison checks on her dad who is still unconscious. As the werewolves fight Peter slowly shifts into his large monster wolf form.
...
Stiles races down the dirt roads trying to get to the Hale house as fast as possible. "Hey, hey, hey. This isn't exactly an all-terrain vehicle." Jackson complains from the back.
"Yeah. Did you pay for it?" Stiles asks as he drives.
Jackson sighs. "No."
"Then shut up." Y/n looks over at Stiles with a grin. Probably not the best time to find something like that attractive, but damn, was that attractive.
...
Peter throws Scott out of the window and Allison watches with wide eyes. Peter goes up to Scott and picks him up, holding him up to his face. His feet dangle off the ground. Scott glares at him and gives him a hard kick in the chest making Peter drop him and flail back, falling down. Tires screech and a horn honks as Stiles pulls up, the lights of the car shining right on the Alpha. The three jump out and Stiles throws a conical flask filled with liquid towards the beastly man, but he catches it. "Ohhh, damn." Stiles deflates.
"Nice catch." Y/n sarcastically remarks as she stands in front of the Porsche, eyes glowing angrily. She stretches out a hand, Peter growls. She snaps her fingers. The flask explodes and the contents ignite, coating his arms in flames. She takes a few angry steps forward as her hands become covered in purple tinted flames. She gathers the flames in both hands and hurls it at the Alpha, his whole body now aflame. He roars in pain and sets his eyes on Allison, lunging at her in a last ditch effort.
"No!" Scott yells, jumping up and kicking him away. Peter stumbles as he shifts back to his human form, falling to his knees, burned and gasping for air, and falls onto his back. Allison goes to Scott and when he turns his face from her she tilts it back. She kisses him and he shifts back to normal. Y/n turns her head to Stiles as her eyes dim and she nervously clenches her teeth. He walks over to her and gently takes her hands, turning them over for any burn marks.
"You're not hurt?" He asks.
She let's out a startled laugh before she shakes her head. "No. I'm completely injury free. Promise. You're not... Freaked out?"
"You still have some explaining to do, but... No. I'm not freaked out. Honestly that was kinda hot." He smirked and she laughed again.
"You're such an idiot." She smiled fondly, putting her hand on the back of his neck to bring him closer and kiss him. They pull away at the sound of crunching leaves and everyone looks over as Derek walks up to Peter while he gasps for air on the ground. He stands over him, a foot on either side of Peter, and kneels down.
"Wait!" Scott runs over. "You said the cure comes from the one who bit you. Derek. If you do this, I'm dead. Her father, her family- what am I supposed to do?"
Derek doesn't answer and everyone watches tensely. "You've... already... decided." Peter breathes out between labored breaths. He forces himself to look at Derek, his eyes shining red. "I can smell it on you!"
Derek raises his claws.
"Wait! No, no! Don't!"
He slashes Peter's throat. His eyes fade and he gurgles, choking on his blood. Peter exhales one last time. Derek stands up and looks back at Scott. His eyes glow red now instead of blue. "I'm the Alpha now."
...
Y/n sits in a chair across from Scott and Stiles who are sitting on her couch in her living room. All of them have changed clothes and she asked them here to finally tell them the truth. "So..." She starts off and takes a deep breath. "I've been keeping a secret from you both. At first it wasn't relevant, but now that Scott's a werewolf and you both know about the supernatural, I've been lying and I'm sorry." She frowned a bit.
"What have you been lying about?" Scott asked.
"Everything pretty much. I knew more than I let on sometimes and if it wasn't obvious already, I'm not human."
"That would explain the glowing eyes and the fire hands." Stiles lightly jokes and she huffs a quiet laugh.
"Yeah."
"So if you're not human, what are you?" Scott wondered.
She sighed and clasped her hands together. "I'm a witch."
Stiles raises his brows and the boys glance at each other in mild surprise. "A witch? Like- like spells and hexes, type witch?"
"To put it simply, yes." She nodded and looked between them, worry written in her eyes at how they'll react.
"That's so cool." Scott smiles and Stiles nods, eagerly agreeing. She smiles in relief and lets out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.
"Do you ride a broomstick?" Stiles suddenly asks and she rolls her eyes.
"Pretty sure that's a myth. Although I wouldn't be surprised if another witch out there somehow made it happen. I, myself, have not done that."
"Was your mom a witch?" Scott wonders and she nods.
"What else can you do?"
"Um, I can heal wounds, manipulate the elements, see the dead."
"Wait, what?" Stiles cuts her off. "You can see the dead?" She nods. "Badass." He smiles.
"I also have heightened senses, like I can smell things normal people wouldn't if I pay attention and I can hear things too. Like how nervous I make you sometimes." She smirks at Stiles and his eyes widen slightly in embarrassment.
Scott smiles at the exchange. "Is that normal for witches?"
"I don't think so, to be honest. I actually think those things came from my father, but I have no idea who he is so I have no way of knowing for sure." She shrugs a bit.
"Can you show us something?" Stiles asks with a hint of excitment in his tone.
"More than the fire?" To her slight surprise both of them nod and she shakes her head with a smile. "All right." She takes a breath and her eyes glow. She reaches out with her magic and makes her grimoire levitate down the stairs and into her hands. The boys watch in amazement and she grins at them. "This is my grimoire. I made it myself when I was 13. It holds all of the knowledge my predecessors had gathered before me. This is how we learn and when we learn something new, we write it down and pass it on." She handed it to them to let them look at it.
Stiles looked up at her with a sudden thought. "Do you think you could tell what's happening to Lydia?"
"What's happening to Lydia?" Her smile fades as she now becomes worried. With everything that's happened tonight she hadn't been able to check on her or even hear anything about her till now.
"My dad said that the doctors don't know what's wrong with her and that her body kept going into shock like an allergic reaction."
"What the hell are we sitting around here for?" She exclaimed as she stood. She quickly snags the grimoire from their hands, sending it back up to her room, and hefting them up by their collars to get them out the door.
Y/n, Scott, and Stiles snuck into the hospital, keeping low to the ground to avoid being spotted. "Shut the door." Scott whispers and Stiles grabs hold of the handle, starting to close it with a loud squeek. Y/n squints her eyes in disbelief and motions for him to stop, which he thankfully does. A flash of her eyes and a wave of her fingers coaxes the door to close quietly, a twitch of her hand makes it lock. The boys look at her and she smiles a bit smugly. Although it falls as they stand and she looks at Lydia.
She walks to Lydia's left and gently touches her hair with a frown. "Oh, Lydia." She says quietly as the boys join her side. She sighs and moves her hand away to lift the side of her gown revealing the bloody bandage. Stiles looks away as she gently peels back the tape and lifts the bandage. Her and Scott look at the spot in confusion.
"Is it completely healed?" Stiles asked.
"No, not at all." Scott answers. Stiles looks over in shock and, true to his word, the wound was still very much there.
"I don't get it. The doctor said she'd be fine."
"She will, but the bite isn't healing." Y/n said. "She's not a werewolf."
"Then what the hell is she?"
Y/n frowned and replaced the bandage, taking Lydia's hand in hers right after. She closes her eyes and lets her magic flow over Lydia, feeling for anything. There's something there, but she can't tell what it is. She opens her eyes and looks at them with furrowed brows. "I don't know."
...
The moon shines brightly in the sky as Stiles lounges in his backyard. Y/n walks over and smiles down at him before settling down and laying next to him to stargaze. They point out different constellations and Y/n laughs every time he makes connections for random things like a her shoe and even the Jeep, things that she could actually see which made it funnier. She looked over at him as he smiled, a bit victoriously at having made her laugh again. She admired the moles that dotted his skin and found she'd rather make connections between these stars instead of the ones above.
She reached over and gently traced patterns on his skin, her fingertips leaving tingles in their wake. He's not sure if he'll ever get used to that sensation, but a part of him hopes he never does. It's addicting. He turned his head to look at her, turning his face more into her palm in the process. "Are you sure you still want to be with me even though I'm not like you?" She asks, her voice barely above a whisper. The question had been on her mind ever since she told him what she was. She's glad she did it, but it still worries her what he'll do now that he knows.
"Y/n, you don't have to be like me for me to fall for you. Honestly, if you suddnely came out and told me you were, like, a three headed bird lady, I'd still want to be with you." Y/n suddenly laughed, words eerily similar spoken by Alan ringing through her head. He furrowed his brows at her yet still smiled.
"Good." She finally said and sat up, propping herself up on an elbow to look down at him. "Because you're stuck with me now, Stilinski."
"I think I can live with that." They smiled at each other and he reached a hand up to cup her cheek, moving it to the back of her head to bring her down for a kiss. She laid back down next to him and he put an arm around her. She raised a hand up to the sky, eyes glowing with a soft violet. She conjured glowing sparks like glittering fireflies that danced around her fingers. She set the moon in her sights, tracing a heart shape in the air, the sparkles staying where she left them. She then wrote their initials in the middle like something from a cheesy camp movie. She thought it was cute and Stiles seemed to feel the same as he let out a little 'aww' at the gesture. He pulled her closer and pressed a kiss to her temple. She scrunches her nose up a bit and chuckles. She turned to the glittering heart and gently blew on it, dispersing the magic and letting it drift into the sky.

S1E2 - "Second Chance at First Line"
This episode picks up right where the first episode ended. Scott walks into the locker room in a daze because he just found out the hunter, who shot him with an arrow the other night, was Allison's dad. He freaks out, but Stiles snaps him out of it and gives him a bit of a pep talk to focus on Lacrosse for now. One thing at a time.
At practice, Jackson continues to antagonize Scott and knocks him down, bringing him down a peg. Jackson is trying to assert his dominance, tries to proves that he's the big man on campus because he can't handle not being number one, especially to someone he considers to be beneath him, like Scott. But Scott gets back up. Coach makes him do it again, provoking him by teasing him. So the wolf comes out a bit and he takes Jackson down, hurting his shoulder.
The problem is Scott can't control his shift, so Stiles ushers him to the locker room while the others check on Jackson. Scott attacks Stiles, but Stiles is able to hold him off before stopping him with a fire extinguisher. Scott asks what happened, too lost in his wolf to be present. Stiles tried to reason with him after Scott tried to kill him. He says that Scott needs to work on his anger. It's a trigger, it raises his pulse, and it leads him to shift. But that's what Lacrosse is all about. So Stiles argues that Scott can't play the game.
He's still hung up on playing, though. He's convinced that if he doesn't do one thing, like play the game, he's going to lose Allison and this perfect life he created for himself. And he keeps finding evidence to support his own misbelief.
Lydia threatens him after hearing the rumor that he's sitting out. She dangles Allison over his head and manipulates him into playing by saying she'll introduce him to all the hot players and he'll just be a loser in comparison.
His mom says she's taking off work to go, so he feels guilty because they can't afford for her to take the time.
Derek even sneaks into Scott's room and threatens Scott not to play in the game. Because if he shifts and hurts or kills someone he runs the risk of exposing not only himself but Derek. Then they won't have to worry solely about hunters because everyone will want to kill them. So, if he tries to play, Derek will kill him.
Lots threats, but nobody gives him any solid advice or help. So, Scott takes things into his own hands.
After he finds out that Derek gave Allison her jacket back, Scott freaks out. He tells her Derek isn't actually his friend and asks her a million questions. She walks away from him, upset. Maybe she thinks he's being jealous and controlling. I think that's a safe assumption. Anyway, she's not having it.
Scott goes to the Hale House and warns Derek off Allison, says she doesn't know anything. Whether he meant about werewolves or about hunters, or even about everything,  is not explained. Derek suggests that maybe she does. Derek tries to level with Scott, says he's looking out for him, and Stiles can't just Google all the answers for him, he needs actual help. Unfortunately, Scott and Derek haven't talked about actual solutions. Derek is trying to scare him into compliance, but Scott is a teenager who wants to rebel against the person who tells him he can't do something. It's clear, to me, neither of them really know what they're doing or how to move forward.
While he's there, Scott smells blood and sees disturbed earth behind the house. He's determined to get Derek out of the picture so he can play in the game, so he enlists Stiles. They go to the hospital, and Scott gets a sniff of the other half of the body so he can be sure it's the same. He's convinced and also disturbed by the wounds.
In the meantime, Stiles tries to chat up Lydia but fails because she's actually on her phone's headset on a call and wasn't even listening to him. An interesting illustration to show how far apart they are in status, sure. But Lydia is seen as this unattainable girl. And she's carefully put herself there on that pedestal. In my opinion, Stiles, in a way, is actually better than her in that moment, in that he's actually being completely himself and being vulnerable. While she's got a long way before, she's even on his level.
Stiles stops Scott and makes sure his friend is doing this for the right reasons. Is he trying to stop a murderer, or is he stopping Derek because he told Scott not to play in the game? Scott tells Stiles what he found, and that convinces Stiles he's serious about stopping a murderer.
Which, side note, neither of them actually know to be true, they're both just going on Scott's mistrust of Derek here.
While I do believe that Scott cares about stopping who he believes to be a killer, he's still a typical teenager, and he wants to do the thing that he thinks will win the girl, and make him cool, and make his life feel normal. So it's a definite win-win for him.
They go to dig up the body, but Scott senses something has changed. There's a joke here from Stiles that if Derek catches them, they run in opposite directions, and whoever he catches, oh well. It's funny because it illustrates that they still haven't planned any of this out other than catching a scent and grabbing a shovel.
They don't get caught by Derek, but they find the body is actually a wolf. Stiles, with his keen eye, sees Wolfsbane flower that he recognizes from all his research and realizes it's tied to a rope that creates a spiral around the gravesite (we get insight on the spiral in later episodes). They remove it, and the body changes to a woman.
When the cops come and arrest Derek, Stiles sneaks into the cop car when they're occupied with the crime scene. Stiles asks him about the girl, how she was able to be an actual wolf. He's clearly fascinated by all of it.
May I add the body language and the looks scream that something else is going on there. Whether you read into that, like some have, that Derek and Stiles are attracted to each other is one thing. Maybe that's possible. I feel that Derek is getting a read off Stiles, his scent, his heartbeat, etc. He's looking between his eyes, his mouth, his chest, and he's analyzing him. I'm curious to know what exactly he senses about Stiles there 🤭
Anyway, Derek, once again, doesn't deny allegations, which makes him look suspicious to Stiles and the audience. Although, why would he need to prove himself to a couple teens who already made up their minds about him. Maybe he's too exhausted, or he doesn't care enough or trust them enough to be vulnerable with them.
Derek redirects the conversation and tells Stiles he shouldn't be worried about Derek. He should be worried about Scott and what will happen if he shifts on the field. Derek can't stop Scott from playing, but maybe Stiles can.
It's short lived because the Sheriff pulls his son out of the car. As he questions Stiles about how they discovered this whole plot, Stiles inadvertently admits he lied and Scott was with him the night of the search when Stiles was caught. His father, exasperated with his son, this seems like their normal dynamic, he let's him go, for now.
Scott makes a point that Stiles is liking the werewolf stuff way too much, and Scott can't even stand him saying the word anymore. Sure, he was affected by the wolfsbane that Stiles kept in his backpack, but they're good points.
Stiles just discovered something new to hyperfixate on, which he is wont to do. So that's valid, but also unfair. Although he's enjoying everything he discovers, he's using the knowledge to help his friend. But it seems Scott is unable to see this yet.
Scott clearly hates being a werewolf, which is understandable, so far it's been dangerous and an inconvenience to Scott, plus he never asked for it. That's valid. Then again, he does love the effects when it suits him. Until he's rudely confronted with this reality, seeing his wolfy reflection in Allison's window.
Argent hits Scott with his car in his retreat from Allison's house. He's incredibly apologetic but also a little skeptical that Scott isn't more hurt. The wheels are turning. Allison comes to his rescue, and Argent is suspicious for another reason. He realizes his daughter likes this kid and goes full father mode, promising that he's going with Allison to the game.
At the game, Stiles tries to reason with Scott that nothing will fall apart if he misses one game. He's not going to lose Allison, he can play again once they get things figured out. But Scott is determined to play.
Throughout the whole game, Scott is constantly triggered into anger. Jackson with his plan to keep the ball away from Scott, frustrates him. Lydia using Allison to help her hold signs cheering on Jackson pokes at Scott. Even Jackson at one point slams into Scott to catch the ball. The team is losing but Jackson has ordered the team as their captain not to pass to Scott.
Scott has gotten under Jackson's skin so bad that Jackson has deluded himself that he could win even while injured without Scott, even with clear evidence that they're going to lose. His desire to control Scott and make himself better than Scott is stronger than his own drive to win.
Scott gets so mad that he steals the ball away and ends up scoring the last 3 points to win the game seconds before the buzzer. The problem is that he can't pull the shift back again. He runs off to the locker room. Allison comes to him and we find that Allison is the key to calming Scott. They kiss, it's sickeningly sweet.
Then Stiles comes in, but he tries to duck out when he finds Scott is alright. He tries to give Scott a moment, with "we'll talk later", but Scott insists he talk to him now. Stiles drops the bomb that the evidence of the case shows bite marks and wolf hair. They determined it was an animal that killed the girl, not Derek. Derek is free. And the girl, yeah, she's Derek's sister Laura Hale.
They process this. I feel Scott surely still thinks Derek is the murderer but is trying to work out why or how Derek would kill his own sister. While it's likely Stiles might be rethinking Derek as the murderer. But that's my own speculation with knowing Stiles fairly well. But he did say, previously, there might be a whole pack of werewolves out there. Just because they've only seen Derek doesn't mean he's the only one. Maybe Stiles is starting to think that way.
The episode ends with Jackson finding Scott's discarded glove. He notices the claw marks at each fingertip. As he tries to wrap his head around what this can mean, he sees Derek watching him from the treeline. It's all very ominous.
Derek knows that Scott played the game, yet Scott is still alive. Perhaps because Derek's threat was empty. Maybe Derek let it slide because Scott didn't hurt anyone or expose their secret. I don't know if any of these thoughts truly get an answer, but I feel they're good questions. And we know Derek will have his eyes on Jackson now to make sure he doesn't talk.

Random Foxfire Facts
That probably interests no one, but I miss my game a ton and felt like doing something related. I've probably mentioned some of these at some point, but oh well.
When I moved Becca, Ruby, and Cloud together at the very start, I was betting that Ruby and Cloud would hook up
As I was setting up the neighborhood, Mel and Ash kissed. Then Ash got together with Lydia and Mel found a toyboy from Cloud and the whole thing didn't make much sense anymore
I have addressed most pre-playing kisses in some way, tho! That's how Mel and Will ended up being exes (let's just say Mel was very efficient with uh, getting to know everyone)
Will and Jamie are the only pair I guessed correctly before playing
Vera has by far the most three-bolt matches. And she's straight! You'd expect some bisexual to hold that record, but no. Troy has had some competition for sure
When I created Julian I thought he's someone who imagines being above interacting with people who aren't as intelligent as him. After playing him for five minutes I realized that actually, this guy has no freaking clue how to interact with anyone at all
I already knew when I created Jonas that he must have a twin but I had zero plans to add Judi to the hood as I was very determined to keep gen 1 free of pre-set familiar relationships. I just eventually hit the wall with writing Jonas without showing Judi (and I'm happy that I did)
I didn't think Deanna and Tess would last, but they've steadily gained more bolts over time and are now one of my rare few three-bolter couples
I would've stopped Chase from kissing Hanna, but their round was just about to end and I went to the second floor to shoo Jonas away from the computer so that Chase could go to sleep. My heart stopped when I suddenly heard that first kiss tune playing
Breaking up Ally and Judi is the most I've intervened in anyone's relationships. As soon as I realized Judi was going to keep the baby no matter what, I didn't see any other outcome
Jonas and Cloud really were talking about aliens at the same time when Julian got abducted
Luke has had enough skill points to get a promotion for something like five rounds at this point. I haven't stopped him from getting them, either. Dunno who did he piss off to get his career to freeze this badly (it's Luke we're talking about, so probably everyone)
Cedric and Shay had a hard time getting along for a while, which caught me by surprise since they're both generally nice
When Dari first got a crush on Felix, the game crashed right after. So I was like, right, that won't likely happen again. Well, after I loaded, Dari got both crush and love at the same time
Okay, that's enough for tonight!

Chapter 14
Epilogue: 18 months later
Today is “The Day”, your wedding day. You're pacing around the bridal suite, completely ready. At least physically, your hair, your make up, your dress, bouquet everything is ready to go and you are freaking out. Lydia shoves a glass of champagne into your hand and says,
“Drink this, quickly. You need to calm the fuck down.”
You follow her orders, gulping down the fizzy liquid.
“Why did I do this stupid don’t see the bride before the wedding bullshit. The one person I want to see right now is waiting for me while I lose my shit,” you whine.
Lydia, despite being heavily pregnant, Rooster and her are expecting their first child within weeks, grabs you by the shoulders and says,
“It’ll be okay, you just need to keep it together for 30 minutes and then you get to see your human Ken Doll and everything will be okay.”
“This is for all the marbles, like eternity kind of shit.”
“That’s the point, Elsa,” she starts to speak slowly to you like you're a child,
“You and Hangman love each other so fucking much that you’re making a giant declaration with rings," she waves her hand in the air,
"And other things to the world that you are a committed couple. You’re finally getting your happy ending, Elsa. I suppose one of many 'happy endings' you’ve already had with Jake.”
She wags her eyebrows up and down and you finally laugh. She hands you another glass of champagne, and says,
“Sip this one. I’ll be back, I have to pee, again.”
You focus on some breathing exercises you slightly remember from a long ago yoga class and you swear you hear Lydia talking to someone in the bathroom. She is whispering, or as close as Lydia gets to whispering,
“I repeat Operation Skittish Dove is a go, operation is go.”
Lydia returns and starts to rub your back in a calming manner. There's a light knock at the door and Beth has reappeared in her bridesmaid dress after she went to see if the groom's party was ready. She hands you a card in a thick envelope.
“It’s from Jake,” she says and winks.
Opening the card you realize it's a kids birthday card with the characters from Frozen on it. The “Happy Birthday” is crossed out and in Jake’s neat print is written, “On our wedding day…”
You open the card and it starts playing that fucking song you detest.
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
As you go to slam it shut, you see that Jake has written,
My darling, Elsa,
Thank you for letting me be the man who could melt your heart. Don’t worry about a thing. We got this, and I can’t wait to call you my wife and stand by your side as your husband.
Love,
Jake
“That delightful bastard,” you say and laugh out loud, some of the tension easing. There's a knock at the window and as you look over you see that Jake is at the window. Springing up you run to the window, starting to open it.
“What the fuck? We’re on the second floor, what is he doing?” you hiss, utterly confused. You pull the window sash up and kneel down.
“Jake, what the hell are you doing?” you look down and he is on an extension ladder.
“I came over here to give you a kiss, that’s all,” he smirks.
You raise your eyebrow and tilt your head knowing he is bullshitting you. His smirk blooms into his soft and wide open smile,
“Okay, that’s not the only thing I came over here for. Lydia let me know you were freaking out and could use a little pep talk.”
You feel a twinge of guilt run through you.
“I just wanted to see you so badly. I’m ready for this, don’t worry about that Jake, it’s just stupid that the one person in the world that understands you the best is the one you’re not supposed to see before your wedding.”
Jake laughs,
“That’s my girl, how about that kiss?”
You lean down and kiss him gently so as to not unsettle his balance.
“How did you get a ladder?” you ask. Jake gives you that panty dropper smile and says,
“Easy, slipped the maintenance guy a twenty to ‘forget’ over on this side of the house. See you out there on the field, Elsa. I love you.”
You reply back,
“I love you, too, don’t die in the next five minutes."
He winks and then descends down the ladder. You watch him disappear from view as Lydia looks at the clock and says, “It’s go time, you ready?”
“I’ve never been more sure about anything, let’s go.
--
And that's the end of this little story for now, there's more to come in Dancing on the Clouds Below, a continuation of Jake and El's story. There'll be a cohesive storyline, some one shots, and some other perspectives in this universe.
Thank you all so much for your comments, reblogs, and likes. You know how to make a gal feel loved.

The last chapter of Time is a Flat Circle is up! So sorry in advance. (No I’m not.) Be sure to read the trigger warnings and tread carefully! This one is a doozy!
Here are the details for this specific chapter! Time is a Flat Circle as a whole will have a “post mortem” itself before Part 2 comes out. If you have any questions you’d like answered, send them my way!
- The lyrics from this chapter’s title is from “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush! Heavily inspired by a scene using a song in “Our Flag Means Death”, I listened to this song endlessly while writing this chapter. I believe it fits it so well for obvious reasons.
- “His senses weren’t overly reactive, recently. It was easier to spend more time outside, or among the humans’ excited chatter. It was nice. It made them feel… not peace, but a lack of unease.” - he is experiencing overstimulation less and less due to the humans helping him have access to accommodations!
- “(where the hell even was “Miskatonic University”?)” - This is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft’s work, since it inspired Beetlejuice’s last name, but also more to the movie “Re-Animator”! It kicks a lot of ass if you can stomach it. Check the trigger warnings before watching. Highly regarded in the trans autistic community.
- Beej’s favorite pizza toppings being pepperoni and mushrooms is a reference to That Beautiful Sound!
- “one of the “fidgets” she was particularly fond of; a singular key of a keyboard.” - This is based on my favorite fidget!
- “Can you even blush?” - He can!
- “ the gaudy floral wallpaper.” … “the tackily patterned yellow wallpaper. (How repellent. How dull.)” - The appearance of the wallpaper and the way Beetlejuice describes it is taken straight from one of my absolute favorite horror short stories, “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman!
- “I promised I’d get you all out of this, and ‘m a… thing of my word.” - Taken straight from my own vernacular. I’m not a man or a woman of my word, so I say “thing” as a joke!
- “Hot damn!” - this is a reference to one of my favorite “Brooklyn-99” cold opens.
- The TV show Barbara and Lydia start while the boys are busy with the model is “The Fall of the House of Usher”, which is one of my absolute favorite shows ever. It is an amalgamation of Edgar Allen Poe’s stories! Lydia would go nuts, I think.
- As Adam states, Beetlejuice has very sensitive eyes! They’re built for darkness, so they don’t know how to handle an abundance of light properly. Also, the sensory nightmare of ‘sun in your eyes’ sucks.
- “Gardening with Barbara was like a short dream conjured up from a summer afternoon nap.” - Although altered, this comparison is taken straight from my absolute favorite story Stephen King has ever written: “Laurie”. It is phenomenal. Highly recommend you listen to MrCreepyPasta’s reading of it.
- The soup Beetlejuice helped make was loaded potato soup! One of my favorites.
- “It should be a comfort, shouldn’t it? No one else got a chance like this, to have the precious moments mapped out, to have their time left set in stone.” - This is taken straight from my own thoughts. As someone with many chronic illnesses and a projected shortened lifespan, this is something I often tell myself.
- “after he’d wrapped her up in blankets and tossed her onto her bed.” - Fun sibling activities! My older brother used to love to wrap me up tightly and toss me across the room onto my bed. I also loved it.
- “I don’t keep anything strong on me after Adam freaked out about my flask.” - My version of Adam has trauma related to alcoholism/substance abuse. Beej took his concerns seriously and stashed away most of his ’goods’.
- “ “There is no… other side for me.” He gently squeezed her hand. “This is it.” ” - This is, of course, one of the hardest lines ever written, from “BoJack Horseman”. Made me bawl my eyes out when I first heard it, and I bawled again writing it into my fic.
- The various smells!
- Black tea and perfume - this has already been addressed! Beetlejuice mentioned how Barbara smells like iced tea and perfume a few times before.
- Isopropyl alcohol and tung oil - aftershave and woodworking materials!
- Vinegar-y chemicals and formaldehyde - Lydia has traces of photo-treatment chemicals on her. And she likes taxidermy things.
- Beetlejuice’s reaction to being called sweet is a direct mirror of my own. I have no idea how to respond to being called kind and such and act all grumpy.
- On the “diagnosed” conversation - everyone but Beetlejuice knows that that’s about. Lydia has been diagnosed with a few things as well! Perhaps we will get into it in Part 2?
- “The evening passed at the speed of a dream. Dinner, dishes, laughter. Pajamas, blankets, rounds of Clue and tossed game pieces.” - This is meant to parody General Gibson’s speech in “Asteroid City”. Specifically when he says, “twenty years passed at the speed of a dream. A wife, a son, a daughter, a poodle.” This movie literally altered my brain chemistry, no hyperbole. It will be referenced again.
- “Eric is returning to his grave.” - This is meant to be foreshadowing for Beej’s plan!
- “Lydia suggested they watch “The Exorcist”. Despite the Maitlands being terrified of the film, they stuck around to watch it. But the humans did not make it to the ending. They fell asleep huddled together, all pressed up against the demon’s sides. “God damn you, take me!” It wasn’t so funny this time around.” - This has a few layers; it’s referring to how movie Beetlejuice has seen “The Exorcist” 167 times, and says it gets funnier every time. The scene that is being quoted is when the priest character, Karras, tells the demon to take him instead of the girl it’s possessing. He then jumps out the window to kill the demon along with himself. For obvious reasons, this is not quite as funny to Beej anymore. (And, I mean, it’s about an exorcism. And he is dreading an upcoming exorcism. Not fun!)
- “How exquisitely stupid. How perfectly splendid.” - These are both references to two of my favorite pieces of horror media. The first is from “Nope”, the second is from “The Haunting of Bly Manor”.
- “They tried, desperately, to hold it all within their grasp, to savor it, to hold it close. But it’s hopeless. The last day with their BFFF passes like sand through his fingers.” - This is meant to be a reference to “So Long” by Tokyo Elvis, which was the song for one of the previous chapters!
- “7pm arrives like a thief in the night, sure and swift and inevitable.” - the phrase “like a thief in the night” is from “The Masque of Red Death” by Edgar Allen Poe. Lydia’s love of the poet is rubbing off on him!
- “He empties out their belongings from his hammer space and leaves them in tidy piles in the basement.” - this is a reference to a line from Mitski’s “The Last Words of a Shooting Star”, which was almost the song for this chapter. The lyrics it references are “And I am relieved that I'd left my room tidy, They'll think of me kindly, When they come for my things”
- The scene where Lydia calls Beetlejuice “BugBeverage” is meant to parallel the goodbye hug they exchanged at the end of the musical, just somewhat reversed!
- “Of all the billions of breathers that coulda seen me and said my name, I’m so glad it was you.” - this is meant to be a homage to a very impactful scene in “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. Shout out to all my fellow autistics that this movie made cry.
- “W-Wiggog Y-” - This is a cheeky reference to Wiggly from the Hatchetfield Universe! I have my own Tickle-Me-Wiggly!
- “I bid you, full foul in your fury, to smother this profane blight with your icy cull,” - This is a rephrasing of one of the best monologues ever from the best movie of all time, “The Lighthouse”. (I have seen it 103 times. I am not joking.) The original lines were, “rise from the depths full foul in his fury!” And “smother this young mouth with pungent slime”
- “His feet shifted, teeter-toter- Deep breath, it’s time.” - Taken from “The View from Halfway Down”, a poem read on “BoJack Horseman” from the same episode as the other quote in this chapter. It is a haunting, distressing poem from the perspective of someone who has jumped off a bridge to commit suicide, but regrets it halfway down. I thought it was extremely thematically relevant here.
- “Morning Frost.” - Morning Frost is a creation of my own. It’s a play on the ‘Morningstar’, or Lucifer, the original demon. The original head honcho of the Netherworld. Not much is known about them by Beej, so we are too for now! The only way to kill a creature born of hellfire is to freeze out that fire.
- “Heart. Lungs. Liver. Nerves.” - This is taken from a similar scene in “Slay The Princess”, one of my favorite games ever!! A horrific timeloop, a twisted romance. I won’t spoil anything, but the character saying this is doing so to keep his body from shutting down, like Beetlejuice. I say this to myself over and over again sometimes when I’m having a panic attack and it’s helped!
- “They hope it’ll lull them safely into a gentle goodnight.” - this is a reference to a famous poem, “Do not go gentle into that good night” by Dylan Thomas.
- The feeling of warmth returning is a bad thing, which is why Adam freaks out more when he notices! One of the last stages of hypothermia is feeling incredibly warm and stopping shaking. There’s also disorientation and confusion, hence why Beej can’t talk or think quite straight after this point.
- A fun little lesson on treating hypothermia from the Deetz-Maitlands! Warm the neck and core with blankets, get heated blankets if possible, and give them warm, sweet beverages. Starting to shake again is a great sign.
- “… he couldn’t let them see him as he was) and stepped forward to greet the pair, shaking on his humanoid illusions and Ghost with the Most persona.” - Beeltejuice is afraid that he can’t take anything back now. He wants to make a good impression on Charles and Delia. Sucks to suck, buddy!
If you’ve made it this far, wow… thank you! This monster of a fic wouldn’t be possible without the serotonin boost every like, comment, and FANART (still can’t believe that one) sent my way. Thank you so much. Can’t wait for Part 2! I will add hints and teasers for what’s to come in the Post Mortem. I’m going to keep working on my crochet sandworm now.

Pink Ladies Ep 8 Thoughts..
Episode 8.. Was rough.
Here are my thoughts.... Not that anyone asked for them.
The fact that Jane has to run away from both Buddy and Richie made me shake my head, and the fact that the Pink Ladies mention that she has 2 potential dates to worry about whereas they don't gave me the best of friends vibes.
Richie looking hurt, but still understanding of Janes decision about going to the Ball with the Pink Ladies. God. Man.
The internalized lecture she gave herself after he left. Say what you will, we've all had a moment like that. Like 'why did I say that?"
Gil coming in to the Frost Palace like a force and even after trying to shake the nerves out, him smacking books out of some persons hands never fails to make me laugh.
I gotta say that I FREAKING LOVE THE FACT!! That Gil respected both Richie and Olivia enough to WAIT UNTIL he got the brothers blessing to move in and ask her out. And as soon as he has an opportunity to do it, he goes straight for it! Atta boy! Get your girl!
Olivia making him WORK for it with his hunt for nickels.
Hazel. And Wally.
Buddy looking visually a little rougher pleases me. Takes Jane's news well enough on the chin.
Gil being nervous and kinda skirting how he feels about her. .. My sweet boy..
Making nickels outta dimes... All I could think of.
Lydia walking by and Cynthia TRACKING here.
Nancy having a meltdown over her infatuation.
Nancy dropping a big C and Cynthia sounding so concerned.
"Its worse than cancer... Its inside of me. Growing. Spreading."
"A child?'- My roommate.
Cynthia being shook that Nancy has a thing for Potato. Both are probably shocked as hell..
Crushing Me is a western bop.
Potato looking thrilled and kinda scared of Nancy never fails to make me laugh...
Dot looking crushed..
Shy Guy looking subtly thrilled and SLIDING to go sit with the gang and tell them.
Classic Pink Ladies. Put their mind to it, they got dates in 5 minutes.
Richie chilling in the TBird, jacket off, looking at a lighter... Mmm. Yum.
Richie comforting Dot and deciding to go the the ball together is just... so pure. But what he says to her about how the person he likes going with someone else... "I know how that one HITS." And for Richie, they just keep on coming.. Then again, he's used to it. And Dot recognizing pain, offers him a lolly like someone does a drink or a cigg. And her lighting up at going together.
The whole PTA meeting... Just. Don't even get me started. Spelling in front of high schoolers? Are you kidding me? What about the others who's ears aren't covered?!
The more the girls are together, the more I love their dynamics. Jane and Olivia gushing together over the décor, the way they boost Nancy up in all her... Nancyness intensity. And the way Jane reacts when Cynthia comes into view. In a dress.. Just.. sweet girl.
Olivia and Mr. Daniels... GoFUCKYourself. No. Everything. About. You. NO!
Olivia almost using 'I have a date' like a goddamn shield...
Wally being charming AF when Hazel is nervous is just.. Daw.
Buddy looking FOUL and guilty to his dad who tries to dismisses it.
I thought it would pan over to Jane but the fact that it was Richie! Hooo boy!
And the look he sends over his shoulder before it softens in Jane's vague direction... God. Add in the fact that Richie was at a casino acting out when Jane got the news that she lost, and then to hear that after she lost, she didn't even lose fairly because Buddy's dad cheated... My first thought was that he couldn't go an tell her or even comfort her.. And the anger he must've felt to hear that his girl got cheated out and that Buddy hasn't come clean when he 'wants too'.... Lot to process.
The Pink Ladies hyping up eachother. The Birds being awkward around them..
Gil's comment about being a cartoon wolf around Olivia killed me!
Gil being nervous when he hands her the corsage... YOU CAN SEE HIS HANDS TREMBLE!
Richie keeping his reactions to Dot pleasantly neutral. He only livens up with Jane.
Dots Sandy Reference!
In my opinion, Richie's (Jonathan Neives) performance this episode seemed.... I dunno... weaker? than previous episodes, but when he was with Jane, he seemed to really be himself. Am I just being crazy?
Susan taking the Pink Ladies side in both the dance counsel and when talking to her mother made my opinion of her lift up a little.
The conversation between Susan and her mother.. And the doctor... 'Buddy had a right to know...'
Holy. Shit.
Like, it makes sense and it does check off the classic box of head cheerleader and top quarterback... That is how you say something without saying something.
Richie cant miss an opportunity to even subtly flirt with Jane. And the way she smiles back at him... Just.. My babies!
Dot picking up on vibes. They are kind hard to miss
Gil being a 'respectful dancing distance away' from Olivia until she pulls him in and the way he melts against her. And her giggle!
Cynthia and Shy guy.. The whole scene is (as weird and bad as this is gonna sound) a good kind of cringe. But Shy guy... My sweet boy.
Richie and Jane having 'ideas'!
Breaking my hear kid! Fly free!
Fly free!
It'll probably be an unpopular opinion but I'm glad we didn't get a kiss between Richie and Jane, especially right after Dot took 'one for the road.' And how he looked at Jane when she did it like...
He wiped his mouth with his hand. I was both pleased and kinda offended in a good way..
"What about Buddy?"/"What about him?" The way his face subtly changes! AND THEY PLAYED THEIR SONG! I started humming 'Carelessly' and then FREAKED OUT!
BORN.TO.HAND.JIVE!
Olivia going after Susan.. is justified but scorpions can still sting eachother.. And dishing out poison like its shots goes out to anyone and everyone she can.
S.O.A.B.. Buddy didn't even come out and say it himself... But when it's already out there, he caves.
Richie just trying to keep things calm... I felt kinda robbed that we didn't get a.. bigger reaction out of him.. And how he just pushes Buddy away..
Oh DOT! Damn! Dot!
Wally and Hazel knowing that shits about to go down and need to GTFO.
When we see Richie and Buddy.. I won't call it fighting.. It's more like a decent tousle.  "GeT him Richie!"
Wally and Hazel. The Stars and the Sea. Cuties.
"That's. Not. Fair." I swear, that saying makes my eye twitch.
"If you would just Pick a side. Pick a boy." AND THE FACT THAT JANE doesnt respond. Say what you will, but Richie and Olivia make solid points, even when they are hurt/mad.
HE'S IN JAIL?! Olivia! WTAF ARE YOU DOING?!
Nancy looking as broken as the window....

Tell me about Jamie and Rachel
......Okay, I've been trying to keep my mouth shut about them because I'm worried I'll lose the motivation to write if I spill the beans, but... When I look at the pace I'm actually writing at, I might not get there until I literally retire. So... Here we go. Spoilers ahead, obviously.
Long story short, they're Bailey and Dick's daughters. I'm not sure how obvious that was, but I'd be shocked if nobody had put that together yet, honestly. And they might be from another dimension. They hatched from eggs that grew from a plant Bailey got as a wedding gift from the girls' fairy godmother.
...I'm gonna explain everything, but it's a helluva ride, so buckle up. Time travel is heavily involved, so be warned. It gets confusing.
The earliest seeds of this start not in Bailey's relationship with Dick, exactly, but with a cryptic warning from a random blonde girl with a very strong grip and intense orange eyes. She tells Bailey to "stay away from the peacock man" and... Vanishes back into the crowd.
Bailey brushes it off as a prank from some weird kid.
Fast forward a little bit, and Bailey gets called in to body-double for Princess Lydia of Valdania. The country is in political turmoil, Lyd is announcing a marriage of state, the risk of assassination attempts is high. There's a masquerade ball involved, because what's the point of fanfic if not self-indulgence, and Bailey encounters a man dressed as a peacock. She has completely forgotten the warning from the weird kid, but her "bodyguard" steps in before she can accept this wierdo's request for a dance. That becomes important later, I promise.
At some point, through some kind of Star Trek Bullshit, I'm sending Bailey into the 30th century. Someone else needs to be with her; it can't be Wally, for obvious reasons. She gets back with the help of Cary Wren, the GL of the time, but... Cary misses the target by about a decade. Bailey lands about ten-to-fifteen years ahead of when she left, practically in the lap of a twenty-something Lian. (Lian is growing up normal, fuck canon, this whole "Shoes" thing is stupid.) Bailey panics once she realizes she's not when she's supposed to be, and who she's looking at. She's familiar enough with the scifi genre to know that finding out your own future is bad. Lian is trying to do damage control, making sure Bailey learns as little as possible, while still getting her home. But she can't keep a perfect lid on things, and Bailey comes face to face with a very curious child -- One with red-gold curls framing her freckled face, a gaptoothed grin, and giant, almond-shaped eyes, blue as cornflowers.
Everyone freezes. Chris -- now also an adult -- scoops the child away as fast as he can. Bailey does not understand the tension in the room. She has a niece, clearly. That kid looked exactly like her nephew Aiden did at her age. Obviously Phoebe had another kid. Why a civilian child is here is a mystery, but she's trying really hard not to think about that.
The other person on the adventure with her points out the obvious. Bailey laughs it off -- It's pretty much physically impossible for her to have kids. And who would the dad even be? She'd be an awful mother besides. Nah, no way. That cycle ends here. (The thought had crossed her mind, but it scared the shit out of her, so she shoved it down deep.)
Fast forward a bit. Bailey freaks out and runs away from an actual relationship beginning with Dick, because change is hard and scary and good things never stay and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah commitment. I've talked about this a little.
To be more specific, she runs away to space with Kyle. While in space with Kyle, the party runs afoul of a Black Mercy. Bailey gets sucked into a dream. She's married to Dick, and has been for fourteen years. They're both going gray, getting old. Together. They have a little yellow house with a porch swing and a picket fence. There's a shelter cat, a cranky old-as-hell ginger tabby with one good eye. The sidewalk is covered in chalk drawings.
And they have two fantastic, adorable, smartmouthed daughters. Jamie's older, eleven, and already almost as tall as her father. Rachel is six, and steals the chocolate chips from the pancakes Dick makes on Sundays. They're both bright, compassionate, opinionated girls, so full of light and life and joy. Jamie has Bailey's righteous anger and outspoken nature. Rachel has Dick's quick mind and mischievous tendencies. Bailey loves them, loves this life, so much. It's everything she's ever wanted. Everything she didn't realize she wanted. Everything she was afraid to let herself want.
But she does. She wants it so, so much.
And then Zyzzanyx, the imp she'd... encountered... previously (that's another post) pops in. Explains that she's gonna die if she doesn't make herself wake up -- that Kyle and Laney and the others are gonna get hurt if she doesn't help them. And Bailey has to let it all go.
(The Man Who Has Everything did not do enough exploration of the long-term psychological ramifications of this concept to suit me, okay?)
Bailey is deeply shaken by this dream. She starts to realize that she does want to be a parent, but the idea of stability and putting down roots still scares the hell out of her. It takes someone else pointing out that she's already basically adopted Lanos, the amnesiac navcom AI who is from another Earth, for her to really start to come around to the idea.
...This is what leads to her freakout that has her knocking on Ollie's door at four in the morning, unleashing a wall of text, and recounting the whole tale so far over several bowls of chili.
Unfortunately, Laney leaves. Bailey doesn't really have a stable place to share with a teenager, and... Lanos has a big sister to get to know, and a whole new universe to explore. They stay in contact, but it's a bit like sending your kid off to boarding school.
Shortly after that, she leaves for Los Angeles. She doesn't really have anywhere to stay, having lost her apartment while in space, and she's been couch surfing. Bette offers her a proper room in her penthouse apartment in LA, and a chance to rebuild the Titans West. Bailey takes her up on it. Staying in the Gotham/Metropolis/NYC area was too close to Bludhaven and Dick anyway; the further away she could get from him, the better.
From there, the next big chapter we get in this saga is what I refer to as the Little Mercies Arc. And this one I need to do a lot of research before I write, I know. But essentially, someone is making designer drugs derived from a Black Mercy they got ahold of and embiggified to a truly dangerous degree. You know those century-old rhododendron bushes that are the size of a small car? It's like that. But Bailey and Jason take this person down, and burn the stash.
...Or. Most of the stash, anyway. Bailey picks up a single sleeve of the Little Mercies. She tells herself it's for research. Study. Finding out how it was made. But it's not. She knows it's not.
She misses her daughters. She misses the life she could have lived, if she hadn't fucked things up with Dick. She's only human, after all.
You can see where that's going.
Bailey stabilizes, gets some help, starts getting better. She gets more involved with the local community, doing volunteer work and stuff; that was Ollie's idea, and it's a good one. She forms connections with people, even starting a new relationship with an old acquaintance, Jonah Pavoni -- a nurse, formerly from Central, who helped her decide to take up being a superhero.
...Cut ahead about... Twentyish years or so. Metropolis. Four teenagers in spandex are in hot pursuit of a man in a peacock-themed outfit. They are:
A speedster in green -- Kickstart, also known as Trenton Swift; currently the second-youngest ward of the West-Allen clan, until his parents can be found.
An acrobat in blue-and-black -- Madcap, Blythe Phillips; daughter of forcibly-retired minor-league supervillains Punch and Jewlee, seeking to redeem her family name through vigilantism.
A blonde Kryptonian girl with orange eyes -- Liora of Kandor, once Liora Tyr-Van; an escapee of the bottled city, hoping to find a way to unshrink her people before their resources run out. I'm leaning towards Spitfire for a name.
And at the front of this quartet, a young archer, black-haired, blue-eyed, and both enraged and terrified. Rachel Marion Grayson-Adler, Fledgling, third-generation superhero. She's eager to prove herself, and desperate to stop the man ahead of them.
He's headed for the Jules Verne Museum, after the time-bubble Clark donated, the one he used to visit the 30th Century growing up. If he gets ahold of it, if he jumps back to when he wants... It could literally wipe her family out of existence.
Unfortunately, they don't make it. The guy gets away with the time-bubble. So what do a bunch of 15-17yos do to solve this problem?
Steal the other time-bubble from the Flash Museum, obviously.
They leap into the timestream after him, but none of them know how to pilot the dang thing. Ray and Liora are trying to shoot the other bubble down. Blythe is hitting random buttons because one of these things has to help, right? Trent is just trying to steer while the three girls move around the tiny, cramped ship.
...Both bubbles crash. All five time-travellers are now scattered along the timeline. And this is where it gets confusing, so stay with me.
Blythe lands on a random rooftop in Gotham, just before the whole thing with the dragon-wizard from another dimension. That is also its own post. But that happens after Bailey gets back from space but before Laney heads out.
Liora tumbles into the middle of Bailey's team-up with Kara, Bette, and Shayera. She helps, but she also has to gtfo because the giant robot dinosaur they're fighting is kryptonite-powered.
Trent... Actually snaps back to the time they left, and goes for help in the form of the Team's Designated Older Siblings, Jamie and Wade.
Rachel crashes into the middle of the West-Park dining table, appearing out of thin air, at roughly the same time Bailey is getting her head back on straight.
And the other guy, the one they were chasing? His bubble lands in the wrong time, but not too far off the mark. He's outside a small volunteer clinic in Keystone City. It doesn't take much use of his touch-telepathy to steal the knowledge, training, and clothes of an unlucky nurse, a witness to the crash, and he slides in seamlessly. He's now Jonah Pavoni, RN.
Jonah's plan all along was to steal the time-bubble and go back to before the love of his life -- the woman who saved him, the brilliant, shining angel, the ethereal wonder he's loved since childhood -- before she married some asshole who didn't deserve her. When he crashed in the wrong place and time, he didn't know if he'd ever find her again. But three days later, the Pied Piper drags her in. She's injured, but the wounds are more mental than physical. Of course -- his goddess couldn't be brought down so easily. She just needs... A little encouragement. A nudge or two. He can help with that.
It's like fate brought him exactly when and where he needed to be, placed him in an even better position to convince Bailey of his devotion. Now nothing could keep them apart -- not the misalignment of their ages, not distance, not that stupid neglectful jackass. No, now he could be here for Bailey, from the very beginning, building her up, adoring her, showing her the worship she deserves. Finally, he could be hers, and she could be his. As it was always meant to be.
...Man's a little bit not right in the head.
Blythe and Liora are trying to find their friends, and worrying about Jonah later. Liora crosses paths with Bailey once, and in the interest of still having her best friend to find, tries to warn Bailey to be careful. It doesn't work that well.
Rachel, however, needs to find Jonah right now immediately. While also keeping her identity secret from her extended family and avoiding the hell out of anyone who might recognize her, so she doesn't Marty McFly herself out of existence. She's a walking ball of anxiety, my poor lanky dorito girl.
Wally would like to help, but she keeps saying she isn't allowed to talk to him about it and there are time-travel rules and he has no fucking clue who this sassy lost child is but she called him Uncle Wally so clearly she's family of some kind. But his family is really damn big, and he doesn't know who he's supposed to help her avoid. She's an archer with super strength, she might be Roy and Donna's kid? Somehow? But she also used the phrase "Uncle Clark," and her eyes are really blue, and she has that dorky little forehead curl -- Kon has weird time-travelling clone daughters, right? And... He and Bart are close...?
While all that is going on, Trent, Jamie, and Wade arrive in the present day. They're in Gotham. It's a full moon. On Friday night. Naturally, things are going sideways all over the city. The addition of two speedsters and an acrobat are easy enough to hide. ... For a bit. Eventually they get spotted by the local nosy busybodies. Wade is completely unfazed by the arrival of the bat, Trent is mildly shocked to see Mr. Wayne still in the suit, and Jamie is dying because that's her grandpa how could this go any wronger.
More bats show up, that's how. Including Dick.
They eventually nab Blythe -- who has been having fun stopping criminals, harassing the local vigilantes, and bonding with Steph in the few months she's been stranded -- and as they're trying to leave, Dick puts it all together. He has a daughter. From a future that, after Bailey literally left the planet to avoid putting a name on whatever was happening between them, seems unreachable.
Things get emotional, obviously, and moreso when they part. Jamie can't stick around, she has to find the others. No, Dick can't help, he's already figured out too much and putting the fabric of spacetime at risk. Or something.
Dick, reluctantly, lets them leave to go find Liora. I'm not totally sure where she's been during all this, but I'm batting a few ideas around. They grab her and set to finding Rachel.
While all this is happening, Jonah reveals the full truth to Bailey. He's the kid she saved in her latest adventure. He's been in love with her for two decades, since that fateful moment. He's crossed time and space and warped the laws of reality just to be with her. He'd planned to just come back to this point, but what he'd gotten -- this chance to get to know her, to watch her become the hero he always admired -- it was more than he ever could have dreamed.
And now, now they could be together. He's finally repaired the time bubble. They can sweep away to the time he left, have a life together. He's waited for her for so long, can't she see how much he adores her? Won't she be his?
...Bailey, on her end, has had a series of bombs dropped on her. By a guy she's not even sure she can call her boyfriend yet. Ending in what sure as hell sounds like a proposal? And he... Might be a kid?? She says no, like any sane person would, with a few expletives thrown in.
Jonah does not like this answer. He didn't want it to go like this, but... He reaches for Bailey. If she won't love him willingly, he'll just make it happen.
THWIP!
Suddenly there's an arrow sticking through Jonah's palm.
"STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HER," Rachel screams, barely clinging to her vantage point.
A fight naturally ensues. I don't have it choreographed well, but we wind up with all three parties -- Bailey and Jonah; Rachel and Wally; Jamie, Wade, Trent, Liora, and Blythe -- all in the same space. During the chaos, Rachel falls from some great height, while injured. Bailey dives after her.
It's too great a fall for her to survive, if she can't recover. And with her wounded -- maybe Jonah has, like, feather-shaped daggers and he stuck one in her side? -- she can't do much. Bailey is trying, but she can't quite reach --
-- and then two feathered wings, shining a brilliant gold, like flame and sunrise, unfurl from Rachel's back.
Ray scrambles to pull up, flapping awkwardly, moving on instinct alone. She pulls up, rising into the air, crowing and laughing and on one hell of an adrenaline high. Bailey helps her get back to the others. Ray gets patched up. There's celebration and relief and joy. Someone makes a "Literal Flying Grayson" joke. Wally still wants an explanation, please and thank you?
Once all that gets shook out, Bailey turns to Jonah. He tried to kill her daughter. He is a threat to her girls, and he won't stop until he's stopped permanently. Clearly, there's only one thing to do.
Wally steps in, trying to plead for mercy. Bailey laughs, and agrees. She'll show him mercy, alright.
...Remember that giant mega Black Mercy? It went into the care of one Dr. Pamela Isley, retired since her wedding to Harley, and considered mostly rehabilitated. Her indoor garden has a real nice skylight.
So yeah. Bailey can show him a little mercy, alright.
There's a whole lotta crying as the time-travellers make their goodbyes. Bailey tries to put on a brave face, because you gotta for your kids, but she doubts she'll ever see their future. But she's so, so proud of them, and she loves them so much.
Fast-forward a bit again. Throughout Bailey and Dick patching things up and figuring out a relationship for real, there's a whole lot of dramatic tension as they both try to keep their mouths shut about the possible future they've both seen, but don't know the other one knows about. Bailey is scared to death that Dick would be with her for that future -- only a possibility she doesn't even know how to reach -- and not for anything inherent to her, and Dick doesn't want to put any pressure on Bailey and make her run away again. It's a whole thing! But they do work it out, and... Well, wedding bells do ring.
And Bailey gets a very unusual wedding gift from Zyzzanyx, her old ally. A small chest, containing what sure looks like two tulip bulbs. Zazz explains that these'll grow into the girls, so... She and Dick can plant 'em when they're ready. It's old magic, and it'll take a drop of blood from each parent, but, well. She's fond of the little rugrats too, she guesses. And watching Bailey be miserable about not having them is, y'know, depressing or whatever.
Bailey thanks Zazz for this, and releases the imp from her life-debt. (Like I said, that's it's own post; this is already a mile long.)
The girls eventually happen. Jamie is roughly of an age with Wade, less than a year younger. Ray is born about five years after that, I think. They grow up safe and happy and loved, with a phenomenally huge number of aunts and uncles and grandparents.
There are many arguments and discussions regarding youthful vigilantism and sidekickery, but once again, Bailey cannot stop the future. It's allowed, but under very strict conditions regarding school and social lives. Jamie begins training at age fifteen, taking on the name Dawnbird, and patrolling with her dad.
Rachel learns archery from Aunt Cissie, and then from Uncle Roy and Grandpa Ollie, when she won't be deterred from masking up once she turns fifteen. She uses Fledgeling as her moniker, one of her mother's nicknames for her, as something of an olive branch. Bailey relents and lets Ray be her partner.
I could go on, but I think this post is long enough as is. Most of the rest of what I have is bits and pieces and fun facts anyway. If there's anything anyone's curious about or wants me to elaborate on -- or if you need a diagram, 'cause I got a little Charlie Day here -- my askbox is open!

Stiles smacks Derek over and over but before going punch him, he wakes up so Stiles tells him everything that has happened. Derek leaves to go get his sister while Stiles and Julia stay back to hold off the cops.
"You should have gone with Derek." Stiles says as the two of them sit alone in the front lobby.
"And leave you? No, thank you."
"Why stay with me?" He looks at her playing with a strand of her hair so she stops to look at him.
"Because I want to be with you and you need someone by your side. Your dad was taken and your best friend left... but I'm still here for you." She tears up a bit, "Stiles, you're the first person in my life, besides from Lydia, I really care about."
"Julia," Stiles moves closer to her but stop as they both look at the door to see the FBI. "Oh, just perfect." Stiles sighs.
"Who's that?" Julia asks as the man walks over to them since it was clear Stiles didn't like him.
"A Stilinski at the center of this whole mess. What a shocker. Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?"
"Stiles without sarcasm isn't a thing." Julia looks up at the man to read his badge, "McCall..."
"And you are?" He asks her.
"Julia Martin." She answers him.
"Where's your dad, and why's no one been able to contact him?" He ignores Julia to ask Stiles.
"I don't know. I haven't seen him in hours." Stiles tells him.
"Is he drinking again?"
"What do you mean, again? He never had to stop." Stiles tells him and Julia was getting pissed with Scott's dad.
"But he did have to slow down. Is he drinking like he used to?"
"All right, how about this? Next time I see him. I'll give him a field sobriety test, okay? We'll do the alphabet start with F end with U." Stiles says causing him to smile.
"How about you just tell me what the hell happened here?"
"We do you know what happened here because we were stuck in the elevators the whole time." Julia speaks up.
"Y'all aren't the ones who put the name on the doors?"
"What name?" They ask at the same time confused so he tells the Argent was written on the door.
Once they were good to go, Stiles and Julia go to the Argent's to tell them that their name was written on the door. Allison says it's no coincidence that Blake took Scott's mother and Stiles' father. Allison suspects that Ms. Morrell is behind the warning saying the guidance counselor knows a lot more about what's happening and might be trying to help. Stiles says they need to hurry since the lunar eclipse is two freaking nights away and that his father could already be dead. Chris disagrees. He says it seems Jennifer is moving pieces into place. Allison points out that Chris is one of those pieces. He says they won't wait around to see her next move. He takes out the map of the telluric currents.
Stiles is dejected saying that going after her will likely mean Chris gets taken. Chris says he's different because he's carrying a .45 caliber pistol. He says Jennifer has shown that she can heal from a shot to the leg and slashes to her face but wonders how she would do with half her skull blown off. Chris suggests the placement of the sacrifices has to do with the strength of the telluric currents in those spots. He points out the school, the animal clinic and the bank on the map. Supposing that Jennifer might return to a spot if she failed to complete a sacrifice there the first time, they settle on the bank as a logical starting point.
"What if we use Lydia and you?" Allison looks at Julia.
"Lydia and Julia? What can they do?" Chris asks lost.
"They sorta have a talent at finding bodies without looking for them." Stiles tells him so Chris looks at Julia.
"What are y'all? Psychic?"
"No, we're Banshees." Julia corrects him.
As time passes both Allison and her father bring out all their weapons, "I thought you guys were retired." Stiles says looking at everything.
"Retired yes, defenseless, no." Chris tells Stiles to keep his phone on so that if Scott calls they can tell him right away. Stiles says he thinks that is unlikely and Chris says Scott is only doing what he thinks is right.
"I can't shoot a gun or use a crossbow. But... Well, I'm- I'm getting pretty good with these." Isaac arrives showing his claws.
While Isaac and Allison stay with her father, Stiles and Julia go to Lydia and catch her up on everything. She couldn't believe Scott would willingly join the Alpha Pack but Stiles says the look on Scott's face at the time suggests his choice was real.
"I get that Julia and I are human Geiger counter for death but I don't know how to turn it on or off yet." Lydia looks at Stiles.
"I still don't know how to do it and I've been a Banshee a lot longer." Julia takes a seat.
"Jennifer seemed surprised that I was a Banshee, so why did she try to kill me?" Lydia asks confused.
"We need to find out why. What do you know that I don't?" Julia asks her before the three head to school.
At school, Lydia was frustrated that Aiden wasn't texting her back. Isaac ends up texting Stiles about Allison's dad. The news ends up sending Stiles into a panic attack which Julia notices immediately.
"Stiles, what is it?" Lydia asks him.
"He's having a panic attack." Julia takes his hand leading him down the hall to the locker room where it there wasn't anyone but them and Lydia.
"Hey, hey, breathe. Try to breathe. Focus on me, look at me." Julia grabs his hands forcing him to look at her, "Remember when you helped me with mine at Scott's house?" Julia smiles a bit but it wasn't helping him so she wraps her arms around him hoping a hug would work like it did for her then.
"I can't stop, Julia." His voice cracks so she moves back cupping his face so he would look into her eyes.
"Look at me. You can. I know you can." She smiles before leaning in to kiss him gently till he was clam again.
As she pulled back slowly they just stared at each other completely forgetting Lydia was just standing on the side watching them.
"How'd you know that would work?" He asks her taken back.
"I read once when I used to have mine that holding your breath could stop one." She smiles with tears in her eyes, "I didn't know how to get you to hold yours so I kissed you hoping it would work."
"I held my breath?" He keeps his eyes locked with hers.
"You did." She nods her head wiping her tears away.
Stiles tears up again, "Thank you." He pulls her into a tight hug, "I'm lucky you're smart." He makes her laugh.
"If she was really smart she would tell you to sign up for a few sessions with the guidance counselor." Lydia speaks up finally so the two pull out of their hug.
"Morrell." Stiles says so him and Julia get up from the floor and the three rush out to go see her.
They rush into the Guidance Office to find Danielle waiting for Ms. Morrell. She says Stiles and Lydia will have to wait because she's got some serious issues to work on. Danielle says she's been waiting for 20 minutes for the counselor and points out that it's weird because Morrell is never late. Lydia agrees, saying she was seeing the councilor at the beginning of the semester. Stiles concludes she is not late, she is missing.
Stiles says he wants to know what Morrell knows and starts to search through her desk. There are two framed photos, both of young children, on the desk. Stiles comes up with Lydia's file and finds a number of drawings of the same tree. It is the same exact tree over and over again on several pages.
"Wait, I basically draw the same thing but upside." Julia pulls out her notebook and flips through her pages to show basically the same thing.
"Okay; you can have my session. You girls got bigger issues." Danielle leaves them.
"What is this?" Lydia asks scared.
"Stiles, the last one I drew..." She shows him she went into detail about what's under the roots, "It's the root cellar."
"That's where they are." Stiles looks at her.
The three rush off to find the Nemeton but Stiles is called by the McCall. Stiles sends Lydia and Julia to Derek since both he and Peter have been to the root cellar before.
Arrives at Derek's loft and there is an awkward moment when Lydia sees Peter for the first time since she brought him back from the dead, "Derek, we have visitors." Peter calls out.
"We know where the parents are. Jennifer has them in the root cellar. If I remember correctly, you've both been there." Julia enters the loft.
"Yes, but we don't know where it is. Talia- Derek's mother and my older sister, decided that she didn't ever want us going back. She knew how dangerous it was and took the memory of its location from us." Peter tells the girls.
"Then how are we supposed to find it?" Lydia asks him.
Stiles, Julia, Lydia, Allison and Isaac join Deaton at the Animal Clinic as they try to work out how to find the Nemeton. Stiles believes it must be on a telluric current or at the convergence of the currents. Allison says Gerard claims he can't remember the location although he and Chris had been there once before. Deaton says there might be a way to do it but that it is dangerous and that they'll need Scott.
At the animal clinic, three large tubs filled with ice water and mistletoe are waiting. Deaton asks if Scott Stiles and Allison have brought something personal that belongs to their parents. Stiles had his father's badge. Allison had a silver bullet made by her father. Scott had a Timex watch. He said it was given to his mother by his father and that Melissa jokes it was the only thing about the marriage that worked.
Deaton explains that the three will serve as surrogate sacrifices for their parents. The plan means the three friends will be dead for a few seconds before Deaton brings them back. Their deaths will supercharge the Nemeton and that will attract supernatural creatures to Beacon Hills. Deaton also says dying will take a personal toll on the trio. They will be left with a permanent darkness around their hearts.
"Each of us will hold you down until you're essentially... Well, dead. But it's not just someone to hold you under. It needs to be someone who can pull you back. Someone that has a strong connection to you. A kind of emotional tether." Deaton tells the three, "Lydia, you're with Allison and Isaac you'll stand next to her. I'm with Scott, and Julia is with Stiles." He adds.
"Really?" Julia asks surprised Lydia didn't get him and Isaac wasn't with Allison since she could tell they were sorta liking each other.
"Yes," He says making Stiles and Julia to look at each other.
They each slip in the tubs. Through shivers and chattering teeth, Stiles informs them that Scott's father is in town. Each of their tethers reach out and push them under the water.
Hours pass and the three were still in the tubs while the other four waited patiently, "Deaton..." Julia walks over to him as he was in the front, "Why did you pair me with Stiles and not my sister?" She asks him.
He gives her a look, "Are you seriously asking me why?"
"Well, yeah. You said someone that has a strong connection to them. An emotional tether... Who better for Stiles then Lydia? He's been in love with her since the third grade. I'm still a recently new friend to him. It's been only like a year..."
"But to the two of you it doesn't feel like just a year. Believe it or not, you're the perfect person to pull him back. Y'all's connection is almost stronger than his and Scotts." Deaton walks away leaving her alone.
Julia takes a seat on counter before rubbing her temples mumbling to herself, "You have feelings for Stiles don't you?" Isaac joins her side.
"I don't know the answer to that question anymore, honestly." She turns her head to look at him, "In the past, I would've laugh and said no and meant it. Now, if I do that... I don't know if I'm lying or telling the truth." She laughs at herself, "I shouldn't though."
"Why not? I like Allison when I shouldn't."
"Because when I fully admit I have feeling for him it will just kill me. Isaac, I'm never gonna be his pick as long as Lydia exists. He's been in love with her since the third grade." Julia tears up.
"What he has is a one sided love, and that isn't real love. Love is a bond shared between people, Julia. Lydia doesn't love him since he's just a friend." Isaac tells her.
"When did you become a love expert?" Julia laughs at him.
"I'm not, I'm just stating the obvious. I have my friends back." He pulls her into his side.

Carols whisperer wouldn't crack, they were nowhere near finding out where Alpha's horde was, and Carol knew that if anyone could get someone to croak, it was Natalia.
But she had only agreed to talk to him, if Carol were to babysit the kids, as well as making a special remedy for Bambi and Archie, the woman could work miracles with a pan and a few ingredients.
Daryl insisted that he had to go with Natalia, he didn't want her alone with the freak, he didn't like it.
Lydia had been removed from the holding cell, Daryl had personally kicked her out, Natalia hadn't known this, and she didn't know where the girl had disappeared to, either, or where her eldest daughter had gone, for a matter of fact, but apparently seducing a mind-fucked freak-show was more important than tracking down two teenage girls, according to Carol.
"This is a bad idea." Father Gabriel gave his opinion."
"Shut up, Gabe." Daryl answered, fluffing out Natalia's hair, he liked her curly hair, it made her seem happier, more free-spirited, easier to open up to.
"I'm just being honest, here, this is no offence to you, Natalia, but you are a hothead, where is the logic in sending her in there, she'll just kill him in a matter of seconds." The priest carried on. "What's the point of having a dead, captured whisperer, with no results.”
"I'm not gonna kill him." Natalia rolled her eyes.
"Natalia-"
"Gabriel! I'm not!, Daryl, you tryna pimp me out or let me interrogate a man?" Natalia removed her husbands hands from tugging down her top, exposing more of her cleavage.
"We need results." He explained himself.
"We'll get results, and no one's dying today." She turned to the priest. "Anything that's gonna take Carol off her warpath, so you can stop chasing after her like a lost puppy." She turned back to Daryl. "Are we ready, or not?"
"Yeah, uhm, yes, yeah, I think so." Gabriel turned to the other man.
"Yup." He nodded.
"Perfect."
Her so-called hostage looked to be an middle-aged man, with greying and receding hair, matching his thick moustache and short trimmed beard, he was also quite thin in statue.
His face seemed to be caked in dirt, but it also looked slightly red, maybe sun burnt? But how would he manage that when he apparently was always sporting one of the hideously gruesome masks. He had an bandage taped to his left side, interesting.
He let out an unimpressed scoff when he layed eyes on her.
"My names Nat." She layed on the southern charm, thickly. "A lil birdy told me you got some pretty clever intel that I wanna know, we can either do this the easy way, or the hard way." She scanned him with fake interest, "Somin tells me you like things hard, though, ain't that right?" She smirked.
"Must be a busy day, up there, if they got a lil thing like you down here." He laughed to himself. "We don't see much of your kind, anymore."
"My kind?" She raised a brow.
"Hunting season came and went a long time ago, all the prizes went the quickest, now, its just what's left, the last thing you can get your hands on, that ain't just about animals, lady."
"I don't know what you’re talking about, we only have the best around here." She shared. "No fighting for scraps. But you know I'm not down here to promote this place. Where is the horde?"
Suddenly the cat got his tongue.
"Hard way it is." She sighed, standing up and leaning towards him, she watched with an impressed grin as his eyes shamelessly looked down her top, she let him, only for a second, before she jammed her thumb into his injury, letting it bleed through the bandage, she pushed deeper as he cried out, attempting to nudge her away. "I'll stop, all you have to do is give me a place, then it'll stop."
"Lady, you ain't the prized prey, you the hunter." He told her.
Natalia looked over he shoulder, an amused glint in her eyes as she met blue iris's, that didn't share her sense of humour.
"But, if we were out there, I would take you like a bitch in heat." The man finished.
Gabriel was quick to move himself in front of Daryl, seemingly "accidently" purposely block his movement, as Natalia sat back, lifting up her left hand, taking in the rings on her finger, before taking them off. "You like?" She asked her victim, switching hands. "They're from my husband, just too bad I'm right handed." She then threw all her force into throwing a punch that would break his nose, and the satisfying crack that followed, confirmed that.
"Ugnh!" The sound that came as he smacked the concrete floor, then, as he gathered the strength to try and sit back up, she threw another, into his cheek, and then another.
"I have daughters, four, that live around here, so you understand why I can't tolerate that sorta language, have some respect." She told him, gently. "Babe, hand me that knife." She layed her hand out, her fingers than wrapped around the weight.
"I would never betray Alpha." The man started speaking. "She rescued me. She protects me. She loves me. She loves us all."
"But she's not gonna come looking for you, is she?" Natalia asked. "That's part of the rules, you separate from the pack, the pack move on, and you'll just be forgotten. I mean, that is what she did for her own daughter, right? Until she waged a war to come back and get her, seems like someone has a hierarchy."
"She sacrificed her own daughter for us." He shook his head.
"She killed Lydia?" Natalia whipped round at the voice of Carol, behind them, not at her house, with her kids.
"Uh huh." He nodded.
"Oh."
"She did." He "Confirmed.” "And I am willing to give my life for her."
Natalia watched the lightbulb go off in the woman's mind, before she darted off.
She rushed forward, handing the knife back to Daryl, before going after the woman, herself.
"Carol." She hissed, as they reached the stairs of their home. "Stop it."
"This ends now." Carol replied.
"You are not involving Lydia! You may have my husband at your beck and call, but you are gonna leave that girl the hell alone."
"He swallowed every ounce of Alpha's bullshit." Carol aggressively pointed at the jailcell door. "Every ounce."
"And I couldn't care less." Natalia shrugged.
"If he sees that Lydia's alive and well, and gets it that his great leader lied to him, then maybe that changes something." Her voice turned desperate.
"Please, Carol. Don't, just leave Lydia out of this, she is in my care, and just like my children, I'm going to do everything in my power to protect her and let her live a childhood, or what little she has left of it."
"Let her make up her own mind." Carol decided. "She's not your kid. This is the only way, and you know it." She sprinted up.
"Hey, you can't go in my house! That's breaking and entering, Carol!" She yelled, as she ran. How did Carol even know she was home?
Natalia had lost, Lydia decided to talk to the whisperer, show her face, for Henry, she had said, before sending Evie, who had also appeared, an apologetic look.
Except, when they had got back to the cell, Daryl was trying to usher them back out, they were only able to catch a glimpse of the two doctors sat behind the unmoving body of the whisperer, he was dead.
"I didn't do it." She called, as she was pushed out. "I gotta go check on my kids." She grumbled, stomping towards her house.
"Should clean up your hand, too." Carol called after her.
"Two birds, one stone, Carol." She replied, entering her house.
The kids were sat at the table, Evie was with them.
"Hey, Mom. Kid's fevers came down, so thought Bambi would enjoy sitting at a real table to eat dinner." Evie smiled at her, but then her eyes bulged at the bloody mess that was her mothers knuckles.
"Mommy! You're hurt!" Daisy gasped.
"What happened?" Bambi asked.
"Oh, just work." She shrugged. "Are my babies feeling better?"
"Yeah, Aunt Carol made us drink a red tea, it wasn't very nice, but she said we would die if we didn't drink it."
"She said that to you?" Natalia asked, anger flooding into her tone, as she walked towards the sink, to wash off the blood from her hand. "Where's Archie?"
"Carol dropped him off with Rosita, she's feeling better too, so thought she might want the company, and so he wasn't stuck with us."
"Carol has some serious nerve." Natalia muttered under her breathe. “Eve's you busy." She gestured to her hand, but the teenager was already up searching for the supplies to properly treat it.
"Mom, come sit down, the girls can learn a thing or two." She ushed her mother to sit at the table, as the six year olds watched eagerly. "Y'know, the first medical treatment I gave, was to Dad." She smirked, looking at her younger sisters.
"Our Dad?" Daisy asked, her eyes swam with wonder, the same as her twins.
"Yeah, gave him stitches, and I was around your age, too."
"Cooool." The kids oohed.
“Eves, what happened to your own hand?” Natalia asked, looking at the girls knuckles, which looked a bit sore, themselves.
“Oh! Nothing, don’t worry about it.” Evie brushed off, pulling the sleeve of her sweatshirt down, covering her hand.
In the night, Siddiq was unfortunately the one to discover the mole inside the walls of Alexandria, it had been Dante, and upon this discovery, the man had killed him, to keep the secret, though Rosita hadn't known this, not until she walked in on the scene with a one year old in her arms.
She almost broke down in tears as she explained to the parents of Archie, how she fought, not just for her life, but for their son's, against Dante and an reanimated Siddiq, and how she hadn't let anything harm him.
And in other news, Carol had led Lydia out of Alexandria deep into the woods, where they had ran into Aaron, that was before a whisperer had spotted the girl, realising the truth of her existence, fleeing the scene, and it was at that moment Lydia had connected the dots on what her place was in Carols scheme, the “help” she needed, causing the girl into also leaving, refusing to not come back.
Natalia bounced her baby on her hip, reassuring her friend, as Daryl beat the ex-doctor, who was actually an whisperer.
"Hope that hurts." He spat, shaking his hand, moving to stand beside Natalia.
"It doesn't matter." Dante said, spitting out blood onto the infirmary floor. "None of this matters. Watch enough people get incinerated, devoured alive, you see how ridiculous it is getting attached to ourselves. But knowing that sets you free." He smiled.
"Is that what you're doing? Setting us free?" Carol entertained him.
"If you learn that lesson, it'll only help you."
"What, so we can be more like you?" Daryl asked.
"Accept the future." He raised a brow, smiling at the man, as he stepped away from his wife and child, lighting an cigarette.
"Why put him through all that hell in the barn just to kill him months later? I-I can't see an ideology behind that." Gabriel pressed.
"I liked Siddiq. "
"Oh, you liked him?" Rosita scoffed.
"He wasn't part of the plan." Dante whispered. "But he found out who I was, so I had no choice."
"What plan?" Carol asked him.
"Encourage your paranoia about us... which will push you into bad decisions. Places like this are cruel promises to their people and they crumble at the smallest nick. Hell, I'm gonna enjoy watching you rip each other apart over what to do with me. Just like with Negan." He winked at the Dixons.
"Easy, we're gonna kill you." Natalia spoke up for the first time. "You ain't no Negan, honey, and there ain't no one around who's gonna sympathise with you, not a single soul, after what you've done, you're the enemy, and now, we have a face to put to the hysteria."
"We helped you." Rosita was still trying to wrap her head around the betrayal.
"Why?" Dante asked. "'Cause you wanted another doctor around? You got something from me, too. Don't pretend you didn't." He grinned, shaking his head.
Rosita begun cursing in Spanish, pacing behind him.
"No one is actually kind. We are selfish. We are brutal. Come on, that's why she's been using her time popping out all these kids, during all this, I was trying to do the both of y'all a favour, I hear boys are always the hardest to raise." He nodded at Archie, but Rosita had kicked him to the ground, hard, ending his monologue about the near murder of Archie Dixon.
She then stormed out of the door that Aaron had just happened to be walking through.
"He's been here four months." Aaron had reminded, during their debriefing on what to do about the situation. "How didn't I know?"
"None of us did." Daryl said, his way of trying to comfort the man.
"We all ate together. Talked about training the militia. He treated Gracie." He choked up.
"You can't do that to yourself." Carol told him.
"Hey." Natalia layed an hand over his. "He treated mine, too, I sat with him, had conversations, you're not the only person who could've or should've spotted him, We especially can't do anything about it now, we do not cause or fault ourselves for other people's actions, we can't do that, it is not our responsibility."
"All we can do now, is figure out what's going on." Daryl gave his opinion, seating himself on top of the counter.
"Mary, the Whisperer I've been talking to, um, told me where Alpha is keeping the herd."
Daryl and Carol both jumped at this, eager to know more, but Natalia took her hand back, placing it to her forehead as she prayed for strength, with a heavy sigh.
"Just over the border, on their side. It's this sunken field. On the edge of the natural forest."
"We can leave right after the funeral." Carol suggested.
"We?" Natalia scoffed. "He said it's on their side, not our business, not our problem. Besides, it really wouldn't hurt to have some compassion, Siddiq is dead."
"You wanna do nothing?" Carol asked.
"Lydia's still gone." Daryl reminded.
"Oh, yeah, because Carol let her go!"
"We don't even know what that means yet." Daryl continued.
"Alpha doesn't know that." Aaron whispered. "With Dante locked up in a cell, she never has to."
"We ain't gonna talk about how this is probably an ambush?" Daryl asked.
"Well, the baby that Connie rescued, apparently that's Mary's nephew. She wants to see him."
"Hell no" Natalia put her foot down.
"I don't think she's lying." Aaron told her.
"Alright. Get a group from Hilltop and meet us there. Second we're done, we're going looking for the girl." Daryl ordered.
"Yeah. I'll radio them. Maybe they can get the news to Michonne, too."
"Alright."
Aaron then left the house, and Carol followed, but Daryl stopped her.
"Hey. Why don't you stay here? I'll go." He said.
"What?" Natalia stood up, facing him.
"Why?" Carol asked.
"You gonna tell me what really happened out there?" He glanced at Natalia, before facing Carol again.
"I told you. Lydia didn't want to come back. I couldn't make her."
"Because you scared her."
"Nat, you weren't there!" Carol snapped at her.
"Hey! Her being here protects us. You know that.
"So, that's it for her now, to be our shield? Just lock her up again? I showed one of Alpha's people that their leader lied to them, and that's good for us. We can push on their wounds, too."
"Oh, of course, yeah, because keeping her behind these walls and keeping her safe is unfair to the young girl, so that she can actually have a chance of growing up, but using her as an tactic is fair game, right?" Natalia mocked.
"Bottom line is, you should have told us." Daryl moved on before the two women could get into it.
"I'll help you look for her, but I don't think she wants to be found." Carol shared.
"Are we talking about her, or are we talking about you?" Daryl pressed.
But she didn't give an response, instead left their house without another word.
"I'll go get the kids ready for the funeral, then, I'm going to take a shower, you can either help me or go chase after her." Natalia told him, heading upstairs.
It was silent for a half a minute, then the sounds of heavy steps moving towards the stairs alerted her of his decision.
The pair worked together to get the twins as well as RJ, washed, dressed, teeth and hair brushed, as well as reminding them on manners and funeral behaviour expectations, it was a lot, and it was a hard conversation on why people had suddenly begun dying so often, when neither child had experienced it since the new people had joined their lives.
Evie was already out, with no other Doctor in the community, she had volunteered to take on the rounds and to do house calls for all the people who had got sick from the infected water, most of them were already on the mend, luckily, but Carol's special tea was helping.
When they quietly opened Archies room, he was playing with his blocks, curiously, as though he was trying to work out a specific pattern for them to be stacked.
The couple leaned against the doorway as they watched, taking in their youngest child, Daryl glanced at his wife, hearing a small sniffle from her, noticing the tears that welled up in her eyes, the sad expression on her face as she watched their baby.
"He's alright." He murmured, tapping the back of her hand with his own.
"We almost lost him, Daryl, we almost-" She choked up, screwing her eyes shut, tightly. "I knew something was off about that guy, I felt it in my gut, and I just left it alone, that's not me, I never make a mistake, not like that, but-- and Henry, I saw her, I spoke to her at that fair, I knew it was her and I ignored it, now, Carol is going to get herself killed for revenge, and you, and it's all my fault" She dug her fingers through her hair, pulling at it with frustration.
"Hey, hey, come on." He grabbed her wrists, stopping her as he walked backwards, towards their room, shutting the door.
"It's all my fault, this is all my fault, Henry wouldn't be dead, Tara and Enid wouldn't be dead! And I haven't done anything to do anything! Our friends are dead and I did nothing to prevent it! Now, Archie was almost eaten, eaten alive by Siddiq, the doctor who helped me with the twins, who Carl risked his life to save, I mean, the irony in it all." She laughed with horror.
"Nat, stop, just breathe." He sat on their bed, bringing her to stand between his legs, rubbing her arms up and down, trying to get her to concentrate on him instead of breaking down and snapping. "Archie is safe, alright, he's fine and alive and I've checked him over, Rosita's checked him over, so has Evie and you've already done it about five times, he didn't get bit, he's gonna be fine, and he's too young to even remember last night."
"That's not the point, Daryl!" She raised her voice. "I could have prevented it even happening, I could have prevented all of this, but I didn't."
"You couldn't have done anything." He held her tightly, trying to get her to come off of it. "There's nothing that you could've done, you didn't know, but you know now, that's what matters."
"If,... If I never killed that guy... If I never killed those guys, that day... Glenn would still be here-"
"Nat, stop it!"
"Glenn would still be here, then Maggie wouldn't of made me distract Michonne, she wouldn't of tried to kill Negan, and the bridge never would of exploded, Rick would still be here, and none of this would happen, because Rick would've known what to do, he would've known what to do, and this wouldn't be happening, then Henry wouldn't be dead, and Carol wouldn't be going nuts, and they wouldn't all be dead, but they are, and it's because of me that they are, I can't keep anyone alive."
"Natalia, listen ta me-"
"Do you regret having the kids?" She seemed to have awoken from her self-deprivation.
"What?" He looked at her, he wasn't sure if he should be stumped or angry at her question.
"Just, our lives would be so much easier if we didn't have them, and I'm not saying that we shouldn't of had them, cause we never planned them, that was all your fault, okay, my body just bakes like it's supposed to do, but you're the one who gave it the ingredients, but I just mean, like what if there was another world in which we didn't have kids, so we could just focus on ourselves, and maybe we wouldn't be so preoccupied and less people would have died because of it, which is kinda funny if you think about it, but totally morbid, y'know, like take a life, leave a life... well, birth a life, but then there's reincarnation, we have three kids, a lot of people have died because of me, but out of those people, three of them could be our kids, but then what if it turns out that it's one of the bad people I've killed, instead of the good people, like what if one of them is Harley, now that would be bad-"
"Natalia! Shut up! Just stop talking, damn." He could barely keep up with her talking 100MPH, but he was catching bits of it here and there. "Just... just shut up, we're gonna be late for Siddiq's funeral." He slightly nudged her away from him, getting up from the bed and walking out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Natalia look a deep breath in, then exhaled, before moving to have a quick shower, before getting ready, building herself back up.
"I remember this passage from my studies. Written by a scholar centuries ago who was trying to understand the impossible." Gabriel told the crowd at Siddiq's grave. "Let me live if life is better for me and take my life if death is better for me." He had surrendered himself to fate because his world defied logic. Defied justice." He walked towards the mound of dirt, throwing a handful on top of Siddiqs cocooned body. "We created you from it... and return you into it... and from it we will raise you a second time." With every pause, he threw another handful. "Evelyn... would you like to share some words?" Gabriel looked to the girl, who was stood with the Gage boy, who had a bruised cheek, but no one cared to ask about it. "You probably spent the most time with him, than all of us."
Evie looked around, as the people waited for her to speak, she then turned to her parents, who gave an encouraging smile along with an nod.
She then stepped forward, clearing her throat.
"Uhm... I met Siddiq when I was only seven years old, which means, Carl Grimes had risked his life ten years ago for him. And Siddiq never let himself forget it. Because since before Uncle Rick allowed him into our community, he was already pushing himself to help in any way he could, it didn't matter who you were, he just wanted to help, no matter what..." She let herself peer into the grave. "Siddiq was my mentor, but he wasn't my first mentor, no...but... he didn't even know me and he saw my potential, he never left me out despite my age, either... I mean, the man was teaching me fractions the same time he was showing me the proper way of how to amputate a limb." She laughed with watery eyes.
"Boy am I thankful you could both multi-task." Joe, the amputee from the story commented, earning a chorus of laughter.
"Then he was teaching me how to read blood, and what it could mean, that's how I found out a certain person was having twins, yet he failed to share that it was my own mother." She earned another chuckle, and a small smile from Natalia, the twins were looking up at her realising that they were their mothers twins. "Siddiq was a person who was full of light, he was a person for the people, he was fearless, he never had to prove to us that Carl Grimes sacrifice wasn't a waste, because that was just Siddiq, that was just who he was, and we dall have many thanks to give..." She then crouched down, picking up a handful of dirt. "I'm going to miss you, Siddiq." She said, lowly, before dropping the handful.

Warnings: reader attacked, reader drugged, mentions of drugging, blood
When his phone started ringing, Stiles fumbled in his pocket as he watched the ambulance pull away. Lydia was talking with Parrish about the scene when she’d come across it.
“Yes?” Stiles said quickly. He hadn’t checked who called but he knew it was you the minute you spoke.
“Stiles?” You said quietly.
“What’s happened?” He asked. Your voice was quiet and fragile.
“Can you come over? I don’t know what happened. I woke up covered in blood.” You muttered. Stiles sighed and glanced at Lydia. She frowned over at him as she tried to gauge if he was upset or just stressed.
"Fine I’ll come over but if you’ve killed someone you’re digging the grave yourself." He said. He’d meant it to be a joke but you hung up on him immediately. Motioning to Lydia that he had to go she gave him a thumbs up and pointed to Parrish’s car to indicate she’d get a lift home from him. Stiles nodded and hurried to his car. The Jeep crunched and groaned as he sped through town. He jerked the gearbox and twice he managed to stall the car.
He pulled up on your drive and let himself in. There was blood everywhere. A lot of blood. He started to panic immediately.
“(Y/N)! (Y/N)!” He yelled frantically. He hurried through the house, trying his best to avoid stepping in the blood and spreading it further. He found you huddled in a corner of the kitchen. You were covered in blood too.
“What happened?” He asked.
“I don’t know. I went to bed and woke up down here with blood everywhere.” You insisted. Stiles nodded and reached for his phone.
“I have to call my dad but it’ll be ok.” He promised. You didn’t acknowledge him. Phoning him seemed to be as much as you could handle. You were practically catatonic when Melissa and his dad showed up. She looked you over while Stiles’ dad tried to find some kind of evidence that he could dismiss you as a suspect for whatever had happened while Stiles fidgeted at the sidelines.
“Oh god.” Melissa said quietly. She called Stiles’ dad over and showed him something in your hairline. His face turned grim, losing all of its colour.
“This is Sheriff Stilinski. I’m going to need a crime scene team out here asap. We had another break-in. Send an ambulance… There are signs of drugging like Parrish’s scene. Be advised that the house you’re coming to belongs to a person who has consulted with us in the past.” He said as he stood up. Stiles didn’t say anything. He didn’t even fidget. He stayed perfectly still as Melissa said he could take your hand. He didn’t let go. Even when they loaded you into an ambulance. He sat next to your bed as blood was drawn and people came to interview you. Even when Lydia, Malia, and Scott showed up he wouldn’t budge.
“I knew I should have picked you up on the way. If Lydia hadn’t been so freaked out. It’s probably why isn’t it?” Stiles said quietly as Scott came to sit next to him.
“Your dad says that the evidence is all in and it looks as if whatever did it was trying to frame (Y/N). There are claw marks on one of the windows in the basement. It's how it got in.” Scott said as if trying to be soothing. Stiles reached out and squeezed your hand. You’d started to doze off, feeling tired.
“What if it’s not just framing? What if it was a warning? A threat? They got right in the house. Besides, What kind of clawed monster needs to use a sedative to knock out its victims?” Stiles muttered.

"Where are we going?" Scott asks Stiles as the brunette leads him somewhere.
"You'll see." He responded.
"'Cause we really shouldn't be out here. My mom is in a constant state of freak-out from what happened at the school."
"Well, your mom isn't the Sheriff, okay? There's no comparison, trust me."
"Is Y/n not coming with us?"
"No. I didn't want to bother her. So it's just a guy's night."
"Can you at least just tell me what we're doing out here?"
"Yes. When your best friend gets dumped-"
"I didn't get dumped. We're taking a break."
"All right, well, when your best friend gets told by his girlfriend that they're taking a break..." He stops and turns to Scott. "You get your best friend drunk." He holds up a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Pretty soon the bottle clinks on the stone as Stiles sets it down, now half empty. He falls back with a sigh and looks up at the sky. Scott sits on the rock Stiles' head is propped on. "Dude, you know, she's just one... One girl." Stiles' speech is slightly slurred. "You know, outta so many, there's so many other girls in the sea."
"Fish in the sea." Scott corrects. He's as sober as ever, like he hadn't drunk any booze.
"Fish? Why're you talking about fish? I'm talking about girls. I love girls. I love 'em. I love especially ones with strawberry... No. I love ones with h/c hair, e/c eyes, yay tall..." He held his hand in the air in a loose approximation of someone's height.
"Like Y/n?"
"Huh? Why would... Actually yeah, exactly. Hey, how did you know I was talking about... About... What was I talking about?" He giggles. "Hey, you're not happy. Take a drink." He groans a bit as he sits up to grab the bottle.
"I don't want any more."
He falls back again. "You're not drunk?"
"I'm not anything."
"Hey, maybe it's like... Maybe it's like not needing your inhaler anymore, you know? Maybe you can't get drunk as a wolf. Am I drunk?"
"You're wasted. Y/n would probably be scolding you by now."
"Yeah!" He holds his fist up for a bump, but Scott doesn't do it. "Aw, come on, dude, I know it feels bad. I know it hurts. I know. Well, I don't know." He laughs. "But I know this. I know that as much as being broken up hurts, being alone is way worse." Scott furrows his brows at Stiles. "That didn't make any sense." He chuckles. "I need a drink." He sits up for a drink when another hand snatches it up.
"Well, look at the two little bitches getting their drink on." The dark skinned man says, his friend smirking at the teens.
"Give it back." Scott demands.
"What's that little man?"
"I think he wants a drink." The friend says.
"I want the bottle."
"Scott, maybe we should just go." Stiles says a little nervously.
"You brought me here to get me drunk, Stiles. I'm not drunk yet." The man scoffs and takes a swig of the drink. Scott gets up and stands in front of the man. "Give me the bottle." The man shakes his head and Scott glares, his eyes glowing. "Give me the bottle of Jack." His voice is slightly distorted and his claws grow behind his back making Stiles perk up.
"Scott?" He calls in worry. The man hesitantly offers the bottle and Scott snatches it, eyes back to normal, swiftly throwing it and smashing it against a tree. The teens walk away and Stiles stumbles a bit as he catches up to Scott. "Okay, please tell me that was because of the breakup. Or 'cause tomorrow's the full moon." Scott opens the passenger door for Stiles. "Going home now, yeah?" He falls into the seat.
...
"It's just weird. Everybody's talking about what happened the other night, and nobody knows it was us." Allison says as she, Lydia, and Y/n walk through the halls, the school having been reopened that day after the whole fiasco the other night.
"Thank you, for the protection of minors." Lydia sighs with a smile.
"Guys, do you think I made the wrong decision?"
"About that jacket with that dress? Absolutely."
Allison rolls her eyes with a smile. "You know what I mean."
"Hello? Scott locked us in a classroom and left us for dead. He's lucky we're not pressing charges or making him pay our therapy bills."
Y/n rolls her eyes not with a smile. "Lydia, he was trying to protect us. I know Scott, better than both of you, and I know he wouldn't put us in danger on purpose. What he did, although it was frightening, was to keep us safe somehow."
Lydia scoffed. "Sure."
Y/n sighs, but perks up a bit when she sees Stiles coming around the corner, heading for the same class she and Allison had a test in. "Stiles!" She jogs to catch up with him as her friends continue into the room. He looks up at her a little startled just outside the door. "Hey." She smiles at him.
"Hey. What's up?" He smiles back, a touch of nerves in his tone. What he had done with Scott was a bit fuzzy but one of the most clear parts was talking about h/c hair and e/c eyes.
"I never got the chance to thank you for the other day." He gave her a confused frown. "When we were in the Chem lab. You comforted me and I really appreciate it. I normally don't get so scared. I-" She sighs and glances down. "It's just... There was something about that situation that reminded me of when my mom was killed. Being chased and cornered... It just felt like that night all over again."
Stiles was mildly surprised. In all the years he and Scott have known her she almost never talked about when her mom died, only a few bits of what her mom was like. "It's, uh, it's no problem."
"I mean it." She gently grabbed his hand and smiled at him. "Thank you." After a moment of thought she gave him a quick peck on the cheek. When she pulled away to see his eyes as wide as saucers she smirked and winked, turning on her heel and striding into class. Stiles gaped after her even after she had left his line of sight. When he noticed more students going into the room he blinked and seemed to gather himself again before also going into the room. He glanced at Y/n when he sat next to her and he could see the faint smirk still on her face as she focused on her papers.
Scott walks in and hesitates when he sees Allison. He stands in front of her and looks at her. Neither of them say anything. Mr. Harris looks at Scott when he gets to her desk while handing out the tests. "Mr. McCall, please take a seat." Scott moves and sits in front of Stiles. "You have 45 minutes to complete the test. 25% of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." Stiles jumps to writing his name, Y/n doing the same just to get that over with. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher. So let's get the disappointment over with. Begin." He presses the button on the timer and sits at his desk, the students start their test.
Y/n works on her test, everything seems to be going smoothly. She can ignore the scratch of pencils, the scrape of erasers, and the clicks of pens as she goes, yet it seems Scott can't as she feels the anxiety grow in him. She furrows her brows and glances at him without lifting her head. "Scott?" She whispers in question. He doesn't seem to hear her and eventualy grabs his bag and runs out of the room.
"Mr. McCall?" Mr. Harris calls after him. Stiles jumps up and follows with Y/n on his tail. "Mr. Stilinski! Ms. L/n!" Neither teen pays him any mind as they get to the hall.
"Scott?" Stiles calls looking one way.
"Stiles." Y/n gets his attention and he sees Scott's bag on the floor. They go over to it and Stiles picks it up.
"Scott?" He calls again, but then pulls out his phone to actually call Scott. They follow the ring to the locker room where they hear the shower running. Stiles takes the lead as they cautiously walk towards the showers, and he breathes a sigh of relief when they find Scott standing under the water without his shirt.
"Scott, are you okay?"
Scott pants as he turns the tap off and faces them. "Guys, I can't..."
"What's happening? Are you changing?" Stiles asks.
"No. No, I can't breathe." Scott wheezes and Stiles quickly fetches his inhaler.
"Here, use this." Scott looks at him in confusion. "Come on, do it."
Scott takes the inhaler and takes a puff, his breathing returning to normal a moment later. "I was having an asthma attack?"
"Not really. You were having a panic attack." Y/n answered.
"But thinking you were having an asthma attack actually stopped the panic attack. Irony~" Stiles added in a singsong.
"How did you know to do that?" Scott asked.
"I used to get them after my mom died. Not fun, huh?"
Scott slightly shook his head. "I looked at her, and it was like someone hit me in the ribs with a hammer."
"Yeah, it's called heartbreak. About 2 billion songs written about it."
"And just as much art and poetry." Y/n added.
"I can't stop thinking about her."
"Well, you could think about this: her dad's a werewolf Hunter, and you're a werewolf, so it was bound to become an issue." Stiles chuckles a bit to lighten the mood, but gets cut short when Y/n lightly jabs him with her elbow.
"That's not helpful." She muttered to him, he relented.
"Dude, I mean, yeah, you got dumped, and it's supposed to suck."
"No, that's not it. It was like I could feel everything in the room, everyone else's emotions."
Welcome to my world. Y/n thought. "It's probably the full moon." She suggests.
"So we'll lock you up in your room later just like we planned. That way the Alpha-"
"Who is not my guardian."
"-can't get to you, either."
"I think we need to do a lot more than lock me in my room." Scott admitted.
"What, you mean because if you get out, you'd be caught by Hunters?"
Scott shakes his head. "No. Because if I get out... I think I might kill someone."
...
Later Y/n stands with Lydia and another girl waiting for Stiles and Scott to watch them practice. Lydia is trying to get her to make more friends and, while it's nice of her, Y/n isn't looking for any more friends than she has unless it happens naturally. Scott and Stiles come out of the locker room with the rest of the team, Stiles having just been put on first line as 'Bilinski' and Scott being named Co-Captain.
"Are you not freaking out? I'm freaking out." Stiles says to Scott.
"What's the point? It's just a stupid title. And I could practically smell the jealousy in there."
"Wait," Stiles stopped them walking, "you smelled jealousy?"
"Yeah, it's like the full moon's turned everything up to ten."
"Huh. Can you pick up on stuff like, I don't know, desire?" He glances at the three girls down the hall.
"What do you mean desire?"
"Like sexual desire?"
"Sexual desire?"
"Yeah, sexual desire. Lust, passion, arrrousal." He rolls the 'r'.
Scott also looks at the girls. "From Y/n?"
"What? No, in general, broad sense, can you determine sexual desire?"
"From Y/n to you?" Scott has a slight smirk.
"Fine, yes, from Y/n to me. Look, it feels like things have been changing and I'm kinda crushing on her so I need to know if I have a chance with this girl, okay?"
While he normally would be happy about this admition, Scott's mood and attitude are being affected by the full moon too much for him to really notice. "Why don't you just ask her?"
"Well, to preserve an amazing friendship and save myself utterly crushing humiliation. Thank you, Scott. Okay? So, please, can you just go up and ask her if she likes me? See if her heartbeat rises, pheromones come out."
Scott rolls his eyes. "Fine." He walks off down the hall.
"Wh- I love you. You're my best friend in the whole world." Stiles calls after him.
"Hey, Y/n? Can we talk for a second?" He asks once he gets to the trio.
"Sure. I'll see you later, Lydie." Y/n waves to her friend and the other girl as they walk off. He leads them to Coach's office and shuts the door. "What's up?"
"Just I needed to ask you something. Do you, uh... Do you know if Allison still likes me?"
"Of course she does."
"Really?"
"Yes. I mean, obviously once you care for someone you always will in a way." She amends. "Allison is just confused and upset. It's understandable from her point of view if you think about it. She was trapped in a school with a killer on the loose, her boyfriend throws himself into the fray and suddenly he locks her in a room. It's scary when you know everything, it's terrifying when you hardly know anything. I know you did it to keep us safe and I'm very grateful for that." She gives him a smile, but it falls slightly when she feels the tension in the room shift.
"How grateful?" He looks at her intensely.
"I don't know what you mean by that." She said cautiously.
"I mean, how grateful are you?"
"As grateful as any friend wou-" She's cut off and her eyes widen as Scott suddenly kisses her. After a moment of shock she pushes him away and she stares at him angrily. "What the hell?! God, Scott, that was my- ugh!" She wiped at her mouth and shoved past him, storming out of the office. It's just because of the full moon. That's it, that's the only reason why he did that. Just the moon. She understood, but that didn't mean she was any less upset.
Scott walked to the lacrosse field and Stiles perked up when he sat next to him. "Hey. What happened?"
"What?"
"What do you mean, what? Did you ask her? Did she say anything? Did she say she liked me? Did she imply she liked me?"
"Yeah. Yeah, she likes you. In fact, she's totally into you." Stiles becomes too excited to notice Scott's strange behavior or Y/n's absence until they actually get on the field to practice.
"Scott, you okay, dude?" He doesn't answer. "Look, I know we just got good news and all, but there's still seven hours till the full moon, okay?" He can't say any more because it's Scott's turn to run the ball. He goes forward, but two players team up to knock him on his back.
"Guess some people don't appreciate your new status there, McCall." Coach laughs. "Who's next?" He blows his whistle. "Let's go." Scott flips back onto his feet and Coach focuses on Stiles who was hesitating. "You have a problem with that, Bilinski?"
"What? Yeah, no." Stiles nods.
"All right, you're up, big boy. Let's go!" Stiles gears up, but then Scott pushes him back with his stick. "That's it, McCall! That's the spirit! You earn it! Earn it, McCall!" Scott gets the ball again. He rushes forward, flips the two players and smacks Danny in the face to score the ball. Everyone rushes to the dazed goalie to check on him.
Stiles goes over to Scott on the side. "Dude, what the hell are you doin'?"
"He's twice the size of me." Scott defends.
"Yeah, but everybody likes Danny. Now everybody's gonna hate you."
"I don't care." Scott walks off and Stiles looks around for Y/n. She should have been there by now. He spots her far away on the sidelines looking upset and he goes to her.
"Hey, where were you?" He asked.
"Do you think you can take care of Scott by yourself tonight?" She suddenly asks.
He looks at her confused. "I, mean, yeah? Are you okay? What happened?"
"It's just... Earlier Scott wanted to talk to me and he asked if Allison still liked him. I told him she was just upset. And then all of a sudden he just kissed me."
"He kissed you?" He asked in shock, a bit hurt at Scott's actions.
"Yeah." She frowned. "I mean, I get that it's just the full moon and he'll be better by tomorrow, but I'm just... I'm very uncomfortable around him right now."
"Yeah. Yeah, no, I'll be fine tonight."
She gave him a small smile. "Thanks."
"I'll, uh... I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah." She hugged him and he was quick to hug back before he let her go. He watched her leave with a frown.
...
Stiles walks into the McCall house that night with a duffle bag. "Scott?" Melissa calls when she hears the door close, but when she comes around she finds her son's friend.
"Stiles." He smiles at her.
"Key!" She notices the object in his hand.
"Yeah. I had one made, so..."
"That doesn't surprise me. It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me." He lets the bag drop and it makes a loud metallic 'clunk'. "What is that?"
"Uh, school project."
"Mmm. Stiles, he's okay, right?"
"Who? Scott? Yeah. Totally."
"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore, not like he used to."
"Well, he's had a bit of a rough week."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Yeah, um... Okay, uh... Be careful tonight."
"You, too."
"Full moon."
"What?" He blurts, shocked.
"There's a full moon tonight." She laughs. "You should see how the E.R. gets. Brings out all the nut jobs."
"Oh." He chuckles. "Yeah. Right."
"You know, it's, um, actually where they came up with the word 'lunatic'." And Mrs. McCall leaves for her job on that interesting note.
Stiles goes up to Scott's dark room and sits the bag down, turning on the light. "Oh, my God!" He exclaims once he sees Scott sitting in his chair in the dark. "Dude. You scared the hell out of me. Your mom said you weren't home yet." He moved the bag closer to show Scott what he got.
"I came in through the window."
"Okay. Uh, well, let's get this set up. I want you to see what I bought." He starts rummaging through the bag.
"I'm fine." He sounds anything but 'fine'. "I'm just gonna lock the door and go to bed early tonight."
"You sure about that? 'Cause you've got this kind of serial killer look going on in your eyes, and I'm hoping it's the full moon taking effect, 'cause it's really starting to freak me out."
"I'm fine. You should go now."
"All right, I'll leave. Well, look, would you just at least look in the bag and see what I bought? You know, maybe you use it, maybe you don't. Sound good?"
Scott slowly gets up from the chair and crouches down in front of Stiles and the bag. He reaches in and grabs a fistful of chains, holding them up. "You think I'm gonna let you put these on and chain me up like a dog?" He lets the chains fall.
"Actually, no." In one swift motion Stiles grabs Scott's wrist and the handcuffs he had in his pocket and cuffed him to the radiator. Stiles quickly backs away as Scott grunts angrily.
"What the hell are you doing?" He pulls on the cuffs, yet they don't budge.
"Protecting you from yourself... And giving you some payback... For kissing Y/n."
...
After a bit of leaving Scott by himself Stiles comes back with a bottle of water. "I brought you some water." He holds up a doggie bowl with Scott's name on the side and pours the water in it. He tosses the bottle aside and sets the bowl where Scott can reach it. He turns to sit outside the room and Scott throws the bowl, making water go everywhere.
"I'm gonna kill you!"
Stiles rounds on Scott angrily. "You kissed her, Scott, okay? You kissed Y/n. After I told you that I was liking her and that maybe I was liking her more than I- and, you know, the past three hours, I've been thinking, it's probably just the full moon, you know, he doesn't even know what he's doing, and tomorrow, he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won't even remember what a complete dumbass he's been. A son of a bitch, a freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend."
"She kissed me."
"What?"
"I said, she kissed me." Stiles scoffs and leaves the room, leaning against the wall out of sight. "She would have done a lot more, too." Stiles slides down the wall and closes his eyes to block out Scott's words. "You should have seen the way she had her hands all over me." He heard it from her, she wouldn't lie and even if she didn't tell him, he knows she isn't like that. "She would have done anything I wanted." He's just trying to provoke him. "Anything!"
It doesn't stop it hurting when he imagines it though.
...
Y/n stands outside of the Hale house, looking up at the scarred building with an apprehensive gaze. She closes her eyes as the screams start up again, trying to ignore them. It should be a bit easier by now, but for some reason this house is hard to ignore. She racks her brain for something to focus on and she remembers the first time she was there, what she listened to to block them out. Stiles' voice. With that she remembered his laugh and his rants he gets into when he's excited.
With a smile she opens her eyes, relaxed and no longer hearing the house's pain. Now to do what she came here for. "Derek?" She calls. "I know you're here. I need your help."
After a moment the Hale steps out of the dark house and looks down at her. "What?"
"Scott. He's gonna need help tonight. He's stressed and scared and he doesn't have a hold of his shifting yet. I need you to keep him from doing something stupid."
"Why should I? Thanks to him I'm a wanted criminal."
"He panicked and you were the easiest explanation. And besides, you're brothers, aren't you? You said it yourself."
"Why can't you help him? Use some charm or spell or something."
"There's only so much I can do to help, but another wolf would help more."
He's quiet for a moment. "Fine."
She gives him a nod. "Thank you." Derek leaves and she starts to walk away, but she pauses and looks in a certain direction. Scott's house. Something is pulling her, like a faint tug on her heart leading her that way. So she follows.
...
Scott tugs at the cuffs until his wrist starts to bleed, but it still holds strong. "Stiles, please let me out. It's the full moon, I swear. You know I wouldn't do any of this on purpose." Scott tries only for Stiles to ignore him. "Please, Stiles, let me out. It's starting to hurt."
Stiles' arm twitches like he wants to get up and help, but a hand stops him. "Don't." A voice whispers. He looks up to see Y/n next to him. He hadn't even noticed her come into the house, he's thankful she's there all the same. "Don't let him out." She leans her head on his, something for him to focus on to ignore Scott's plea's.
"It's not like the first time." He continues. "It's the full moon. It's Allison... Breaking up with me. I know... That it's not just taking a break. She broke up with me. And it's killing me. I feel completely hopeless. Just, please, let me out."
"I can't." Stiles says.
The moon comes out from behind the clouds and as the light shines on him Scott panics and screams as he shifts. Y/n puts her hands over Stiles' from their place on his head, keeping her head on his, and gently squeezes. I'm here. She says. You're not alone. Scott screams and pulls at the cuffs endlessly. Until suddenly it does end. It's quiet. Y/n pulls away from Stiles as they look at the closed door. "Scott, are you okay?" He asks. There's no answer. "Scott?" They get up and Stiles opens the door, but Scott's not there. Only bloody cuffs and an open window.
Stiles runs out of the house. "Stiles!" She calls after him and follows. He drives down the road, tapping the wheel anxiously. She doesn't say anything, knowing whatever she says won't ease his nerves right now. They end up coming across police cars and an amubulance. Stiles pulls over and jumps out asking for his dad. When the Sheriff shows up Stiles immediatly hugs him and Y/n watches from the Jeep. She smiles at them, but it drops when she glances at the moon. The night's still young and she hopes Derek finds Scott before he does something he'll regret.

More Teen Wolf thoughts
So I knew next to nothing about Teen Wolf when I started watching it last week. I basically just didn't interact with any fandoms when it was live and so I'm coming in without any kind of preconceived notions of who/what the good character/ships/storylines etc other than the movie sucks and I shouldn't watch it. I was also vaguely aware that Ste/rek and Stydia were fandom things.
After watching it, I scrolled through an obscene amount of tumblr stuff related to TW and I truly have to wonder if we watched the same show.
Again, it's a very different viewing experience for me because I didn't have gaps between seasons where I could theorize, over-analyze, etc. I'm also older than the target audience so like that could probably affect how I view things too.
I'll also add that my own relationship had a similar trajectory to Stydia. My partner had a crush on me while I was literally engaged to someone else and we barely knew each other, but then we had a deep friendship form over time. By the time my last relationship ended, his crush had changed to genuine love and my friendship evolved to something romantic. We've been together now over a decade.
So with all that said, here's Stydia thought: I am truly BAFFLED by the fact that people think Stydia getting together was fan service. (More under cut)
Note: I have zero interest in debating or arguing, which is why I'm hoping this won't come up in other ship tags. If you feel the need to argue, just move along because I'll either ignore you or block you. These are just my thoughts - it's not that deep.
I admit I absolutely fell in love with Stydia. I am an absolute sucker for good friends to lovers, detective duos, etc so they were *Chef's kiss* to me.
That said, I'm more than capable of separating my feelings about a ship from a story. So when people say that Stydia was forced together, I'm just kind of dumbfounded since I thought it was literally the only well-written ship in the entire show.
When we start, obviously we have Stiles obsessing over an image of Lydia in his head. But even still, he was never into her popularity or anything like that - he was into the person she was at the core, even when she kept it hidden.
Then they became friends over the course of the next few seasons and Stiles fell in love with her in a different way. He got to know her better and his feelings only deepened. However, she was with other people so he tried to force himself to move on. This is very normal in high school especially.
I did not like the Sta/lia relationship, mostly because I thought Malia deserved a lot better than someone who was clearly still into someone else, but I'm not going to get into that here.
We have canon proof that Stiles was STILL INTO Lydia during season 4&5. So much so that Kira, new to the group and mostly only around post-Malia getting involved, picked up on it: "He still likes her, doesn't he?" "Yeah, but it’s different now." "Stiles was the only one who knew." "He paid attention. He listened to her. He remembered."
Stiles is constantly the one whose main priority is getting her out of Eichen House. He storms in and doesn't give a shit about self-preservation as long as he gets to Lydia and gets her out.
He breaks through his bonds when she's about to be injected.
The camera constantly focuses on their hand touches with each other - whether it's in the hospital, the care with which they constantly stroke each other's face, etc. When Melissa was about to inject Lydia in the neck, she told Stiles specifically to hold her hand - even though he has a fear of needles.
Both of them essentially brought the other back from the dead through their connection.
When he sees her hurt or about to be hurt, it goes back to "I would go out of my freaking mind" - and he does.
Stiles was in love with her for nearly a decade. That doesn't just go away in a few months.
Now, for Lydia, we have her focused on Stiles above all else. He's the one she calls when she's in trouble or upset. She goes to him for comfort. "Stiles saved me."
Whenever there's a Stalia moment and Lydia is around, the camera goes to her for reactions. What comes to mind immediately is in the Mexico car scene where Malia says she'd come back for Stiles.
Now, any of these things individually you could say are just friendship things - and you'd be correct. Above everything, they are friends. Probably best friends. But their bond goes so much deeper than that. Both of them needed that basis of friendship before they could fall into a truly deep love for each other - and that's what we see in season 6.
So yeah, I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that it was out of the blue. It's clearly been built up over seasons and while it *could* have stayed as just very good friends, that wasn't the story they were telling. I'll concede that s6 was kind screwed up because of DOB's filming and injuries but it still wasn't out of the blue.
