every so often I get really tempted to see how many of the doubles of my source we can have co-fronting at the same time just to see what would happen. I'm pretty sure we'd just get really blurry because that's what happens after a while when I co-front with Sylvain, but like, would we all just vibe or would it be absolute chaos

summary- Slowing taking down built walls
i didn't proofread this so excuse any spelling mistakes
---------------------------------------------
When Rick's group first arrived at Alexanderia you were delighted. You were do excited to meet new people, and of course keeping your distance but overall being nice and helping out.
After a couple months of them being there they finally started to warm up to everyone. You had made friends with Michonne and Rick, along with Carl. Sometimes You'd have them over for dinner or offer to watch Judith.
You did however, have your eyes on one special person. You worked in the infirmary here and there and when you did see him it was Carol forcing him to have someone treat his infected cuts. He never said anything to you, just glaring at Carol as she shoves him in the door. It startled you the first time, and when you turned around he stoof there looking at you before lifting his shirt and showing the injury.
nothing needed to be said, you just nodded your head and gestured to the bed as you grabbed supplies and cleaned him up. You mumbled a finished as you threw bloodied tissue and such away and he left.
Even though you worked a bit in the infirmary you also went out on runs quite often and had a good say in how things rolled. Whether the runs were longer or shorter, whenever you returned you always saw him near the gates. You wanted to believe he was making sure you were there but you were never sure.
One day, a couple months after Rick's group joined Alexandria, you opened your door to see daryl holding a small box. "Here. Collected these fer ya. ya don' gotta wear em'." He hands you the box and it's filled with jewelrys and small little knickknacks. "Thank you Daryl." You smile and whether or not he'd admit it, there was a small smirk on his face as he walked away.
You took the box to your dining room table and sorted through it. There were all kinds of necklaces and rings. You could tell they've been cleaned and fixed up. You put on some of the bracelets and necklaces, along with a couple of the rings. There's small little animal figurines, and you put those on your window sill above your sink.
Often times you'd find Daryl sitting on your porch, cleaning his crossbow or fiddling with whatever he managed to find on his runs. You'd bring him a glass of water or lemonade, sometimes a plate of whatever you were cooking. Sometimes You'd ask if he'd try a new recipe, other times the two of you would just sit there in comfortable silence.
It's around 6pm, You walk out to give Daryl his glass of lemonade and you start to walk to your chair on the porch when you feel him grab your hand stopping you. "Sit wit' me." Surprised but not upset you turn back and sit next to him. "Why are ya so nice to me?" He asks. "Why not?" You reply. "Others just look at me weird and keep their distance, You smile at me and invite me in. Whatsup with tha'?" He asks. "Because Daryl. People tend to judge all books by their covers. I like to read the book before I say anything. I know you won't hurt me or be a creep. I trust you." You smile softly at him again, and for a brief moment you could see a small part of his eyes soften.
"You trust me?" He asks, his voice a tone softer then usual. "With my life." Your smile stays unbroken and this was the moment you see him smile, fully smile. "Yer stupid." He chuckles softly and shakes his head looking out in front of him.
"Maybe. But it pays off in this case." You laugh and look to him, taking in all his features. "I'll be right back." You smile to yourself and run inside to grab the Instax camera you found on a run.
You rush back out and sit next to him, putting yourself as close as you can be. You wrap your arm aroun him and hd the camera up. "Smile!" You click the button and the flash goes. You move your arm and pull the picture out, waving it hoping it develops quicker.
"Look." You show him the picture, its you smiling at the camera and him smiling at you. "Ma turn." He takes the camera from you, doing the same as you, putting his arm around you and holding the camera up.
When the picture prints he grabs it and waves it. "Look at us." You smile. "Let me get on of you." You take the camera and point it at him. "Smilee." You say. "don' know how ta smile fer pictures." He says. "Imagine Glenn falling down the stairs." You suggest. He smiles, not at what you suggested, but at you trying to make him smile. You take a picture and grab it.
You smile at the picture you took of him, and you look to him still smiling as he calls your name. Theres a flash, followed by "Daryl!"
"What?" He says. "I could've looked bad and im that I wasn't ready!" You say. "Ya never look bad." He waves the picture in his hand. "You think?" You ask. "If anything I'm the one who looks bad." He looks at he picture in his hands. "See?" He hands you the picture. "Ok I guess its not that bad." You give it back. "Here I'll keep the one of you and the one you took, and you keep the one of me and the one i took." You hand him the other picture.
He puts them in a pocket of his vest. You look at him, his eyes eventually meeting yours, and you can't look away, you see him lean in, a look crossing his face asking for permission. You lean in further connecting your lips with his. "Mind if i spend the night?" He asks. "Not at all." You smile as he kisses you again, moving his arms around you, the same arms that'll be holding you as you drift off to sleep.

I realize I already haven't been posting a lot of DA stuff relative to how much FFXIV is on here these days, and that is probably going to be the case for the next couple months, until I've had time to play the new game at my own pace.
While I have found the barrage of promo material a bit overwhelming and have mostly chosen for myself not to worry about keeping up with it all, I'm not especially worried about spoilers ruining the game for me. For one thing, spoilers don't ruin a story for me, and for another, Bioware loves to do fake-outs in promo material where they show you something out of context that look like a massive spoiler and in some sense is but they don't give the context and it usually turns out to be something very different than the impression it gave us (showing In Hushed Whispers Leliana without revealing the time travel thing, for example, or showing Shepard's death like it was a potential ending for ME2 and not the prologue to the game). So like, whatever wild shit they've already shown or will get talked about after previewers get to play a scant few hours of the game, I'm pretty confident that there's going to be plenty of big moments and story context that very deliberately will not be shown before release. I'm going to beef up my blacklist, but I'm also not worried about it, personally.
Mostly, I am probably just not going to be engaging in a lot of meta discussion for a bit, because this just isn't my favorite time to be doing that. I was around for the hype train for DAI and also for the game's initial reception and I'll just say it was not the most pleasant time to be in DA fandom. And please don't misunderstand me--I'm not saying that none of the criticism was warranted or that nobody should complain when they play a new game and don't like something.
I'm just saying that a big new story with lots of new characters and lore and locations and details takes time to absorb. It takes more than a couple of weeks to fully process and analyze a complex story sometimes. And in my experience, the meta and lore discussions get better and more nuanced and interesting with a bit of distance from the initial release. And personally, that's where I start to really enjoy it. I had a lot more fun talking with people about DAI--its strengths and its faults--once the initial hype and backlash had died down. I expect it will probably be that way with DATV too. Again, I want to stress that I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing and discussing first impressions, including negative ones, just that I will probably enjoy the discussions more once things settle a bit.
So if I'm not talking about Dragon Age much here for a while, it's not from lack of interest, I just might chill for a bit and enjoy it on my own before jumping back in.

I’d like to hear about Bill’s dad being intersex!
Anonymous asked: just in case no one else has asked about it yet: how *is* bill's dad intersex? All the bill home dimension world building lore is so fascinating
Okay here you go!!
(For reference for anyone who hasn't been watching me gradually infodump over the months: I've decided to chuck "lines are Just Girls and polygons are Just Boys out the window" and am headcanoning that each individual polygon is considered a separate sex. Reproduction just happens to require 1 line and 1 of any of a multitude of polygon sexes, because I'm more interested in overhauling the social category of gender than I am in inventing new reproductive methods.)
So with a few exceptions, typically a polygon will inherit either his dad's polygon genes, or unexpressed-but-still-present polygon genes in his mom's DNA. So a hexagon dad and a mom with invisible octagon genes will usually either have a hexagon or an octagon.
(This helped give rise to the now-debunked myth that the number of sides in a family's sons "should" go up with each generation; it's a lot harder for a line to marry up than to marry down, so you'd frequently see, say, the daughter of a pentagon marrying a square; and then if half their sons are squares and half are pentagons, hey! The sides are increasing somehow! Meanwhile that line's pentagonal brothers are typically marrying the daughters of hexagons, and some of their sons are coming out hexagons... You see how they might have gotten the wrong idea when they didn't understand how genetics works.)
Tumblr media
Just like in humans, sometimes you can get identical twins if a growing shape splits in half during pregnancy; and if it happens just late enough that the shape's sides have already grown... sometimes you might get, for example, two baby trapezoids rather than one baby hexagon.
Tumblr media
This means that they're socially considered quadrilaterals, and will likely be raised that way; but they've got hexagon genes, and their children would turn out hexagonal, not quadrilateral.
Tumblr media
And it affects more than their DNA; in this situation, a trapezoid twin's internal organs would looks like 1/2 of a hexagon's organs rather than like a normal quadrilateral's internal organs.
Tumblr media
For a long time, identical twins were considered a family tragedy—your children lost several generations of sides AND came out irregular! After the genes at work became better understood, two "symmetrical twins" were considered as regular as a singlet regular shape.
By modern times you have the usual morass of "well what shape are they REALLY???" and poor medical understandings of how their bodies work; a higher acceptance of irregularity has reduced but not eliminated medically unnecessary cosmetic surgeries.
Bill's dad slid around the "well are you really a hexagon or a trapezoid" issue by going "I'm a rectangle, actually."
It shows how much society's evolved since Victorian times that a hexagon can father two visually irregular quadrilaterals and one of them fathers a triangle and the grandparents are just like "great!! that's a damn cute triangle!"
"How much of this will be relevant in what you're writing?" god probably none of it

WIBTA if I confronted my BF about not ordering from my store?
My bf (nb they) and I (m he) have been together 3 years, and have lived together half of that. I moved across states to be with them, and I am very happy being here with them.
Since moving here, I've worked at a fast food restaurant about a mile away from our house. It used to be one of my boyfriend's favorite places to eat, and they still order there sometimes. However, recently, the past year or so, they've been ordering from the location about three miles further away.
They DO still sometimes order from my location, but it is very rare. Usually when they have to pick me up from work. But outside of that, they order exclusively from locations that are further away and even more inconvenient to get to.
I think there's one main reason for this. Before I moved and began working here, they had a bad experience at my location, and this bad experience led to them (drunkenly, stupidly) leaving a couple of bad reviews. (Which was stupid of them.)
About six months into me working here, I sprained my knee, and my boyfriend met my boss and I at the urgent care. Turns out, my boss remembers those bad reviews, and she called them out on it! I think she's a total bitch, mostly for reasons unrelated to this, but her animosity towards my boyfriend explained a lot of her animosity towards me in the following months.
Anyway, my boyfriend was thoroughly embarrassed. I can't really say I blame them. But I was embarrassed too! Almost every time my boss acted like I was scum of the earth (when it couldn't be explained away by my own mistakes, which was often, because I'm actually really good at my job!) I found myself wondering if it was because of my boyfriend.
But I had to move past it, because this is my JOB. and I LOVE this job. I love the work I do, no matter what people think of it. I love everyone I work with, aside from my boss. I love learning new skills. I love the thrill of the lunch rush, and the thrill of working on a giant catering order and thinking "There's no way I'll ever finish this" until, all of a sudden, it's finished. I did office work before this, and this is so much more satisfying to me.
Anyway. All that to say, I moved past it. But my boyfriend, however, is still stuck in that stupid stage of embarrassment. No one who worked there while they made a fool of themself is still working there. No one knows or notices or cares, except for them. And I've told them this. And I'd really PREFER for them to order from my store, because it makes me feel valued and important to someone close to me. (Plus, any tip they leave is money directly back into our finances, which is good, IMO.)
I want to talk to them about it, but I know they'll just say how the embarrassment is too much for them. (Also, somewhat related, they've been trying to get me to apply for a new job further away, which is a pain because I can't drive and walking just a mile from the shop is too much for me, because I'm out of shape.)
I think they really don't want me to be here, but I WANT to be here. I think they don't like the work I do, but I LIKE the work I do. I would really appreciate it if they supported me by, at the very least, ordering from my store.
Would I be the asshole if I confronted them about this?
(Last couple details: my boyfriend always orders the club sub, which comes with bacon. They say our bacon is mid. I think they're full of shit, I've eaten so much of our bacon and think it is literally the best. I don't really see how another store could have better bacon. Also, when I first made sandwiches for them, I tended to show my favor by giving them extra meat and stuff. They said it messed with the "ratio" so I stopped doing that. Could that be why they don't order from me anymore? I don't see how that could be, since I took their feedback to heart and stopped doing it. Idk.)
What are these acronyms?

CRACKS FINGERS
immediate rec is your lucky break by @forthlin bc millies writing makes me throw up and scream and cry and this is the fic that got us talking so!! also, young paul and dilf john and I eat it UP. also literally any of their fics are so so good. the latest one is our fic together so I won't rec it but... their writing in the john pov they wrote is soooo good so. I'll rec their half!
✨ = all time fave
just pulling from my bookmarks.......
grow old with me
Paul breaks his arm, and John panics
explicit. fix-it.
and when the broken bodies are washed to shore (who am I to ask for more)
“Jesus, took you long enough,” John says, adjusting the duffle over his shoulder. “Thought I might be out here til morning at this rate.”
For a second he wonders if he’s drunker than he thought, but no. As far as he can tell, it is still 1980, and he hasn’t seen or so much as spoken to John in ten years
mature. fix-it.
John My Beloved ✨
They've always loved each other, in their own way...
explicit. major character death. literally fucking killed me I sat there at 7am after staying up all night and teared up. I cry like. once a year.
i was a younger man then (now) (post hoc) ✨
John’s twelve when a bloke appears from a flaming pie and says, “From this day forward you are Beatles with an ‘a.’” The bloke is Paul.
Or: paul and john meet at all ages and eras and john is the time-traveler’s wife the way only john lennon can be
mature. fix-it. time traveler's wife au that lives forever in my mind rent free.
Stop all the clocks (by @javelinbk)
‘1967. After Brian dies, Paul decides not to go ahead with MMT, and takes John up to Scotland for a month instead.’
mature
Like Love, The Archers Are Blind
He wants to push Stuart out of the way, not even with a violent yank of his collar like he sometimes imagines. Just to melt into his place like butter sliding in a pan. Have it be an effortless breath of fresh air when John looks up at him and sees it all reflected back in his eyes. It’s you.
Hamburg, 1960
explicit
Boy, You've Been A Naughty Girl ✨
John makes Paul a bet. Paul takes him up on it. Crossdressing shenanigans and angst ensue, and ~feelings come out in the wash. 1961.
OR: boys in knickers, lots and lots (and lots) of sex, angst, homophobic slurs, schmoop. The Pineapple Club is fictitious. Originally posted on LJ in 2012
explicit. what can I say but whshwjjajjakak
I Still Miss Someone (series)
It's 1976 and Paul keeps showing up on John's doorstep with a guitar. Eventually John turns him away and Paul goes off to sulk in his hotel room the night before his flight from New York. Based on real events
explicit. not a fix-it.... real to me though
christmas lights (keep shinin' on)
"I'd have you," Paul said, eventually, and John felt the air being knocked out of him. "If it was different. If we were different."
mature.
two of us (burning matches)
It won't stop raining. Paul doesn't know what his feelings are doing. John's practising his right swing. Somewhere along the way, they fuse together
explicit. honestly literally everything by obstinatrix is 💖💖💖
one and one and one is three ✨ by @pauls1967moustache
Even with how badly he wants this, John wouldn't want it if he didn't think it would make Paul feel good. That's the point. It can be good, the three of them. It can work, if Paul lets it.
explicit. failed yoko/john/paul. also literally everything this author writes...... shout outs: a great threat (female paul/yoko w delicious mclennon in the bg) baby it's all relative verse (don't talk to me. the one time I've ever Ever in my life read foot kink and it???? it works??? they'd do this. I don't want them to. but this is real. entered my "psyche of john lennon" file. )
PROBABLY MORE....... but these are the ones that I keep thinking about and ruminating on.

Listen up, fellow queers and token straights, we're not gonna whine about the lack of new media during the strike and we're not gonna waiver in our support of the strikers.
In the meantime, we are going to recommend to each other more already-existing media than any of us could ever watch given several lifetimes to do it in.
I'll go first. Here are just a few of the creators I care about and want you to support.
FREE TO WATCH:
Filmjoy: This YouTube channel (Movies with Mikey, Deep Dive, etc.) makes incredibly well-produced video essays on film and occasionally TV and games. The channel's focus is on positivity and finding things to love about everything. And YouTube doesn't promote that sort of thing anymore, so the channel's creators (one of whom has multiple sclerosis) are running out of money and close to losing their house. Binge these genuinely incredible video essays with adblock turned off or, better yet, sign up to their Patreon and binge them with adblock on. Seriously, I love this channel so much, and if they don't get a boost in income soon, they're going to have to stop making videos. And I want more videos. Seriously, even watch the videos about things you haven't seen. They've persuaded me to watch loads of stuff I never would have watched otherwise and they're very good about not spoiling things (and giving spoiler warnings when needed).
AyeForScotland on Twitch: This is Tumblr's very own very handsome pro-Scottish-independence @ayeforscotland who has an incredible accent and plays loads of interesting games. He's going for Partner on Twitch now, which he has already earned but been denied due to an absurd technicality regarding whether viewers being linked to the channel directly from Tumblr integration. Go follow him now if he's not live, and when he goes live, go to Twitch and manually click on his name to watch the stream, since that's apparently the best way to get him the boost he needs. He sometimes has @thebibliosphere on as a guest (DOUBLE SCOTTISH ACCENTS HELL YES) and you can watch archives of many of his streams on his YouTube Channel.
Africa Everyday: This YouTube channel is run by Babatunde, a Nigerian man who shares his life and culture, makes cooking videos, and generally is a pleasure to watch and listen to. Seriously he's one of the kindest human beings I've ever spoken with. The money he earns from the channel goes towards helping his family and his community.
CHEAP AND WORTH PAYING FOR:
Dropout.tv: You simply will not find better comedy entertainment for the money. A monthly or yearly subscription is just a few dollars a month and gives you access to countless hours of top-quality entertainment from a company that started their own streaming service rather than cater to YouTube's algorithm. This is the place that started as College Humor, but if you haven't seen them in a while, you really need to check it back out. They're incredibly inclusive in their casting and theming and the production values are insane. I recommend starting with Game Changer, a show which has made me laugh so hard I choked and almost threw up. They also have Dimension 20 (or D20), the highest-quality DnD series out there, with custom-made sets and minis, usually with a focus on sheer comedy rather than drama (most of the cast members are comedy writers or comedians) - but it WILL and I mean WILL make you cry now and then. The currently in-progress season of D20 is called Dungeons and Drag Queens and the players are four literal actual fucking drag queens including Bob the Drag Queen and friends? You need to be watching this. If you have any doubts about whether Dropout is worth it or don't have any money, you can watch many full episodes for free on the CollegeHumor YouTube channel, although they have to censor the swears on there.
Nebula: Remember Lindsay Ellis? She left YouTube because of [too many reasons to list] but it turns out she's still active, she's just on Nebula now. Nebula is the co-op of streaming sites. Users sign up for a low monthly fee and the income is distributed among the creators, weighted according to how many views they get. The videos are uncensored and ad-free and contain lots of stuff that later needs to be edited out of YouTube videos to avoid copyright strikes. They've got FilmJoy on there (remember them from the start of this list?), Philosophy Tube (@theabigailthorn), Jacob Geller, Extra Credits, and loads and loads of other stuff on all different sorts of topics. Many of these channels also have YouTube channels that contain most of their content if you can't afford a Nebula subscription, but Nebula supports them more and gives them more creative freedom.
I'm gonna stop here for now but I'll add more in reblogs as the strike continues.
I hereby invite all of you to ruin my notifications until the strike is over. Reblog this, add your recommendations (especially ones that most people might not know about), and pass it on. There will not be a single complaint about lack of things to watch while the strike is ongoing.
(Why yes I am looking for more things to watch too. I've already seen all of the above. Bring it on.)
(And if you have a few dollars to spare, support the strikers directly at the Entertainment Community Fund.)

Fifty-four days it's been fifty-four days since the initial outbreak. I am trying to remember how I got here with this group by a quarry just a bit out of Atlanta. It's all jumbled together: how my roommate got infected, how I got out of the city, how Shane found me stumbling towards their camp. There were many people here, enough to keep each other protected. We had a couple cars and tents, guns and weapons. Some of us go out for supply runs every now and then just to pick up food and other essentials.
There's a couple kids here too. I don't know how they can play around and be happy-go-lucky after what they've seen. All the people here are lovely except for a few I don't bother with because I'm scared of them. Like Daryl and his brother Merle, those two motherfuckers scare me. They both have heavy Southern accents, and I swear they do drugs. Since we were running low, Daryl, Shane, and Glenn had gone into the city to grab some extra food for the camp.
It was starting to get dark. I'm sitting in a lawn chair by the fire with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders. They had been out for about 3 to 4 hours when we heard the sounds of cars pulling up. Everyone turns around to ensure it's them and not some random person. It is them, though.
They all get out with backpacks full of things like food and water. If we're lucky, they'll bring back some toys for the kids, new clothes, and even random little gadgets. Some kids ran up to the cars as the three men got out. I turn back around, staring at the fire.
I don't know what day it is, what time, or what month. It's starting to get dark. The walkers are way more active at night, so I always try to get into my tent as soon as the sun begins to go down. Amy walks over and sits next to me. Amy and I get along well because we're the same age. "You alright?" She asks I shrug in response. Sometimes, I just think, think, and think, which makes me go down the rabbit hole of asking myself, why me? Why was I here? Why was this happening? What did I do to deserve this? "Just a bit hungry, y'know?" I whispered.
We don't get to eat three meals a day like we used to anymore, and my body was still getting used to the scarce amount of food. "Me too," she whispers back. I watch as Shane walks back towards camp with Lori and her son Carl. Carl has short brown hair, blue eyes, and freckled cheeks. You'd often mistake them for a family, but they're not. Apparently, Shane was a cop and was Lori's husband's partner before the outbreak. Lori's husband died, so Shane's taking over. Carl has a brand-new toy car in his hands, which he's showing off to Sophia, Carol and Ed's daughter. She's got an almost strawberry-blonde bob, brown eyes, and freckles.
"Hey." I see Daryl standing before me with a package of instant noodles. My brows furrow, confused because I've never really spoken to him. His hair is short, like he had a buzz cut, but it's grown out, and he has blue eyes. I wasn't going to lie. He was a handsome man, just kind of scary at times. "Hi?" I say in more of a questioning tone. "I, um, got ya this while we were out," he said, tossing me the package. I smiled. That was sweet. "I heard ya talkin' bout missin' it, so I just..." he said, trailing off. "Wow, thanks, Daryl," I say with a giggle. He nods but quickly walks off to his brother. "That was cute," Amy says, and I roll my eyes. "Okay..." I sigh as I pat the package of noodles. "...I will admit that was actually really sweet." I sigh as I lean my head back. The sun is getting lower. "you gonna head out?" She asks. I nod as I push myself up out of the chair. "Night Am's," I yawn as I walk toward my tent.
I unzip my tent and step in. I try to make my tent feel as comfortable and at home as possible. So, I have bunches of pillows and blankets I've brought and collected throughout the month or two we've been going through this. I sit crisscrossed on my sleeping bag and zip my tent back up. I sigh as I lay back, placing the package of noodles with all of my other belongings. (Books, clothes, and other things I managed to grab before fleeing my apartment.)
I began to think about Daryl, realizing I never expected him to be that sweet. Especially to someone he's barely talked to. He was usually hot-headed. Both he and his brother had unpredictable tempers. That was Nowhere near the Daryl I had spoken to earlier. I don't remember falling asleep, but I shot up in a cold sweat. I don't even remember the dream, but I instinctively grab my knife. I listen closely to make sure I don't hear any walkers before unzipping my tent and crawling out. The fire is still blazing, and I can see Glenn sitting in front of it. It's definitely early morning.
I could tell by the sky. I walked through the overgrown grass, it tickles my lower legs as I did so. I sit next to Glenn and sigh as the heat of the fire hits my face. "Hey," I say quietly. He looks up at me and smiles. "Hey, y/n/n. Can't sleep?" He asks. I nod slightly as I lean back in the chair, I'm sitting in. "nightmare," I whisper. He nods. "Same, can't close my eyes without seeing a Walker. "I lean my head against his shoulder. Glenn was the first person I was open to talking to once I got here. I was too scared of the others, but Glenn was the sweetest guy I've ever met.
"Do you ever think about how it was before?" I ask, and he nods. I think about it all the time: what if this never happened? Would I still be going to college; would I still be living in my shitty apartment. Sometimes, I think about how I would've never met Glenn or Amy if this had never happened. "Yeah, all the time," he whispers as he grabs my cold hand, warming it up. "Do you miss it?" I say, turning my head. He nods. "of course I do..but if this never happened, I'd never have met you." I nod with a smile and a laugh. "You're like my best friend, y/n," he says, and I laugh as I bury my head in his shoulder. "You should go back to bed," Glenn whispers. I nod, lifting my head off his shoulder. "I'll see you later," I say, pushing myself off the chair. "Love you!" Glenn shouts as I walk away.
"Love you too!"

Stiles chews on his thumb a bit harder, and for a second he thinks about saying no. He thinks about letting the whole thing go and just going back to his life, the safe and easy way out. He considers just settling for someone who’ll never really get him, some boring guy who touches him the wrong way and buys him flowers sometimes. He’s been doing it for years upon years, now, and really, what’s a little bit longer? And then, what’s the rest of his life?
What’s the worst that could happen, he wonders? Trying something is better than not trying at all.

“I know. It’s okay. That’s what you have me for. Right?”
“To feed me?”
Derek pauses to look over at Stiles, cross over to him and wrap him up in his arms again. “To take care of you,” he whispers into his ear, holding him close. Stiles melts against him. He squeezes tight and then lets go, directs Stiles to the oversized chair with a view of the kitchen.

Derek was an Alpha with a pack and a multi-billion dollar company to take care of. Stiles was a college kid with assignments and student debt to worry about. Neither of them were looking a serious relationship. A one night stand turned into an easy no-strings-attached arrangement. Although nothing is ever as easy or as simple as it first seems.

It’s not just that nobody would want him unless they were getting paid—it’s that nobody would stay unless there was something in it for them. So when a date with Stiles, the gorgeous, kind stripper, goes wrong, Derek figures out how to get him to stay, despite his baggage.

Can I ask for Poly Wendy and Stan concept of them sharing a darling, please????? Thank you! <3
Sure! Aged up as usual, AU sometime after high school but somewhere before Post Covid. Sorry this took months, working on older requests now!
Yandere Stan Marsh Concept
Yandere Wendy Testaburger Concept
Yandere! Wendy Testaburger + Stan Marsh sharing a Darling
Pairing: Romantic - Poly
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Manipulative behavior, Obsession, Poly yanderes, Dubious relationship turned forced, Possessive behavior, Social sabotage, Implied murder, Stalking, Kidnapping,
Tumblr media
Let's start with comparing yandere behaviors, I usually do it with rivalries but it works here too
Wendy is Manipulative, Easily jealous, Caring, Possessive and Obsessive.
Stan is Obsessive, Clingy, Manipulative, Caring, Sympathetic, Delusional, and sometimes violent.
Both of them share the Manipulative, Obsessive, and Caring traits.
These traits would show when they share a darling between each other.
When sharing a darling the two would try hard to keep their darling between them.
Both of them have the potential to be dedicated and controlling yanderes to you.
They both act the same as they do in their respective yandere concepts, but they also play off each other.
Stan is both dedicated to you and Wendy and doesn't use alcohol as often.
I also feel Wendy is the more dominant yandere in this pairing.
She's more easily jealous and most likely manipulates Stan's yandere behavior.
The two yanderes tend to work together to secure their darling between the two of them.
Social isolation is easy as Wendy is fully capable of spreading rumors to keep you alone.
But it'll all be okay in the end... Stan and Wendy will cheer you up when all your friends leave.
Wendy is more intense with keeping the relationship together and can be considered more hostile with her possessive behavior.
On the surface, the relationship between you three is very loving.
The two care and love you a ton and often do things with you.
Dates are cute and group cuddles feel very passionate and full of love.
For a long time you won't know they're manipulating you.
Wendy's so skilled at it you usually never know why your friends don't talk to you anymore.
You know they never approved of your relationship with Stan and Wendy... but why do they ignore you?
In fact, you never see them anymore.
That couldn't possibly be due to Stan leaving you alone with Wendy that one time, right?
The two are careful when weaving you into their large web of lies.
They both blind your vision with love and affection, Wendy coming up with new date ideas and Stan holding you close while you three chat...
But they're both plotting behind the scenes.
Your relationship is quietly planned behind your back.
Even when they offered for you to be their third, they planned it.
Before they took you in they've been watching for awhile to see if you'd be perfect for them.
Turns out you were the perfect match, which sealed your fate in the end.
The two are very careful to make sure you don't know what's really going on.
They want you to be with them in pure bliss.
You should only have to know about the warm hugs and cute kisses...
Not any of the manipulation behind the scenes.
Although... soon you may manage to find out.
If you did... well, your relationship is tense.
Even if you did finally learn how they were keeping your relationship together, they aren't just going to let you walk away.
Stan begs you to stay as they truly do love you... plus where else do you have to go?
Wendy also manipulates you, driving home the fact you only have them now and you were meant to be with them.
The moment you joined this relationship, you're stuck.
If you tried to leave them they may just be crazy enough to kidnap you.
There's no use in lying to you anymore once they kidnap you.
Their relationship just isn't the same without you...
You can't leave them... they won't let you.
Your place is with them, it's always been with them...
They'll still love you in the end... even if they have to restrain you to keep you between them.

DAILY BRAINROT
Disclaimer: If nothing I say makes sense, it's probably because I'm so stressed I almost set the microwave on fire.
I'm glad to see that the Warriors knits headcanon is alive and well. In fact, it is thriving. This brings me immense joy because I've been losing my mind over it for the past several months, and it looks like it's here to stay. :) The best part is when someone writes a scene where Legend is embroidering/sewing and Warriors is knitting, and they're BONDING OVER THEIR CRAFTS.
In other news, I am seriously considering making glowing Warriors' power and having it be kind of like those glow-in-the-dark stickers people put on the ceilings of their kids' bedrooms. Hear me out. He can be powered by the sun, like a solar panel, and store the extra energy to do Cool Superhero Stuff with. The unfortunate side effect being that he tends to burn off excess energy by glowing in the dark. This means he has been explicitly banned from working night shifts because his cover would be blown.
It also means that he's the perfect nightlight for kids with nightmares.
I'm really looking forward to writing up more of the first meeting stories now that I've gotten the one about Legend & Wild posted, but since I'm making myself wait until I get the next chapter of Hyrule's fic up I'm just going to ramble at you about it instead.
I haven't decided which one to do next, but I have thought about the one for the trio (I also need a better name to refer to them). Anyway, I'm thinking that Twilight and Warriors actually grew up knowing each other, but sort of lost touch for a little while. Twilight was busy with the Twili stuff and getting used to his new abilities, while Warriors was in the middle of the mess with Cia. Sometime after that, they get back in touch, and they've both decided that they want to move out. Twilight wants to leave Ordon because he feels uncomfortable there now, and Warriors wants to move to a different district in Castletown to avoid anything related to Cia. Right around the same time, Sky is looking for roommates because he doesn't want to go to college in Skyloft or something. Ghirahim probably has something to do with it because I kind of doubt that he'd be very chill about Sky killing his master... Regardless, they get introduced to each other and the rest is history.
Slightly related to that, Sky is going to be an interesting combination of ideas here and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine for this project. He's kind of similar to Time because he's an incredibly powerful individual that dropped off the radar. He showed up, kicked villain butt, and then vanished (curtesy of Sun). I'm poking him because I have a lot of ideas about that. Maybe he doesn't like thinking about it? Maybe he doesn't remember what he did? Maybe it wasn't actually him and he was just possessed or something? Could he maybe be the source material for the experiment that made Wild? Is he just like this or is it trauma or his power(s) or did someone else do this to him?
Gnawing on all these questions as if I don't have things due tonight.
IM SO SORRY DUDE. they call me the kitchen appliance killer, i think the only thing safe from me is the stove and the blender- but i’m also afraid of fire so like, i don’t go near the stove anyway lmao 🕺 but fr I really hope you feel less stressed :(
YES YES YES. I love the wars knits headcanon it’s everything to me, i’ve been tryin to find a good place to throw it in a fic. AND WARS AND LEGEND BONDING OVER CRAFTS IS JUST PEAK
DO IT. DO IT, TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY. /j SOLAR POWERED NIGHT LIGHT GLOWSTICK WARS IS EVERYTHING TO ME
ooooooh okay okay, i like it >:)
istg the ‘hero/vigilante’ type au turning sky into peoples favorites is a real thing, it happened to me writing FH9. He’s my FAVORITE character in that ENTIRE au 😭 im so excited to see what you do with him in this 👁️👁️

silly thing in my Copia/Aether/Dew AU where Copia and Dew are coming home from tour :)
-
"They're due back any moment now," Sister Imperator says as she watches Aether clear the oak desk in Copia's office, collecting and organizing various piles of paperwork as he goes. "Shouldn't you be waiting for them?"
She'd come a long way since the beginning, since the brothers' deaths and the near uprising that Copia had caused early on as Papa, so new to everything after Nihil's sudden death.
Aether likes to think that, since he'd stayed behind this time to take on more administrative duties, they've grown close—the mother to his lover and he, one of her son's ghoul lovers.
Her fondness for Dew had been easy, despite his sometimes prickly exterior, he'd always treated her with respect, some admiration for the way she ran the church, even if her way didn't always sit right with Copia—and if there was one way to get in Sister Imperator's good graces it was to treat her respectfully and follow orders.
Aether, surprisingly, had clashed with her more than anyone expected, but he'd been privy to too many nights of Copia not thinking he was enough of a man, enough of anything to stand in the same spotlight as Nihil's offspring, and whether she had meant to or not, Sister had been the cause of many of his sleepless nights, working himself to the bone just to make her proud.
When he has ascended and stepped into place as Papa, he'd very quickly put a stop to the Clergy meddling in his affairs, there'd been a blowout of sorts, between Copia and Sister that had ended in a lot of angry words and (in Copia's case) an ultimatum.
Aether wasn't sure exactly when or how things had turned, or when Sister had started seeing Copia as Papa and not as her awkward Cardinal son, but when she did, things got better.
Not perfect, but better.
Aether sorts a pile of papers into the out box on the desk, knowing that after a good night's sleep, Copia would be back to it bright and early the next day—the least he could do after spending the last few months fielding all of the Treasurer paperwork was make sure the finished things were properly accounted for.
"Dew texted and said that they're held up in some traffic. They'll be arriving late."
Sister hums to herself, standing by the window facing out to the courtyard.
It's quiet for a bit then, except for the occasional shuffle of papers and Aether's low humming as he moves and eventually, once he's finished with the desk, he moves on to straightening the rest of the office, smoothing out the wrinkles on the blanket across the back of the couch, straightening the cushions that Sunshine would constantly move when she was in the office with him.
"My son's agreement to retire feels...too easy, after everything." Sister says after a few moments, her words are a little stilted, careful like she's not sure why she's voicing her thoughts. "He raised so much fuss when he was asked to retire before, and now..." She trails off meaningfully.
Aether hums softly as he straightens some of the books on one of the bookshelves, "I didn't have anything to do with his decision, if that's what you're hinting." He says, glancing over at her from the corner of his eye. "Neither did Dew."
"Has he told you why?" She asks hesitantly.
"He's tired," Aether says simply, "Touring takes a lot out of a person. He may not be fully human but he is still somewhat. Nearly two hundred shows for one cycle..." He trails off with a shrug. "He knows he can do more here at the church. It's why he fought so hard for..." He trails off, glancing over at her again. "That's why he fought so hard to lead the church."
Sister has a sort of severe look on her face, thoughtful, "That's why he was promised my position." She fills in for him, saying what Aether had been thinking.
"You're the one going into retirement," Aether says with another shrug, finally finished with straightening things, the office as tidy as it'll ever be. "How does that feel?"
It's quiet again, and Aether leaves it, not wanting to push this tentative truce that the two of them have, Copia may be a grown man, but Aether has seen the lengths that Sister will go to to protect him.
His phone chimes softly, saving him from too much awkwardness, "Looks like they're arriving now," he says, typing out a reply to Dew before pocketing his phone. "Shall we go greet them?"
Sister moves away from the window, the severe look on her face melting into something softer, fonder, at the prospect of seeing her son again—she motions Aether ahead of her and the two of them leave the office together, heading out of the Administrative wing together.
"I'd like to go to the beach," Sister finally says as they're crossing through another wing, the excitement of the siblings and other ghouls buzzing around them as the arrival of Papa and his ghouls imminent. "Mr. Saltarian has offered me use of his beach house after this." She adds, "A vacation, low stakes, could be nice for a change."
Aether smiles a little at that, at her attempt at opening up to him, she is trying, so he offers, "And what about Papa Nihil?"
Sister scoffs a little, there's something fond on her face but it disappears quickly, "I think it's time for him to rest now. The era of the middle ages is...over." she looks over at Aether for a moment, contemplative, "I think it's time for the bloodline to come to an end. A new era where the successor is chosen by the predecessor but not because of bloodlines or other arbitrary means."
Aether laughs then, eyes crinkling in the corners, "Ah, so Copia's given you the speech then." He says, "I was wondering when he'd come to you about it."
"He has," she answers, a certain fondness on her face that's only present when she talks about Copia. "The church will be in good hands with him leading."
Aether hums, "It will." He agrees easily and then they're at the front doors of the church, and already Aether can hear the loud voices of the siblings gathered to greet Papa and the ghouls, the crunch of tires coming up the gravel road leading to the church.
"Well, shall we welcome them home?" Sister asks, motioning towards the door.
Aether nods, pushing open the door just as the top of the bus comes into view.

— THE SHADOW WARRIOR series
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHAPTER TWO; Quinnjet
pairing(s); recovering!buckybarnes x oc!victoriastark
warnings; light swearing
word count; 1,363
proofread?; yes.
note from author; link to wattpad, link to character's spotify playlist (comment songs also!), find the full masterlist here.
summary; In the depths of Africa, the mysterious nation of Wakanda has reached out to the outside world for help. A mission has been set in place for Victoria Stark, to save Bucky Barnes - the former brainwashed assassin - from his past self. Can she rescue him from HYDRA's grips as the world watches and waits or, will he forever be lost to the shadows?
Tumblr media
Victoria had to get ready for her mission that she had been tasked with. She headed back downstairs to see her father, who had just finished fixing up his suit.
Tony turns around as you enter the workshop, wiping his hands on a rag. "Done pouting upstairs?" He's trying to keep it light. The tension between you has been growing for months. He needs to fix it, but he just doesn't know how.
She rolled her eyes. Their relationship was always sarcastic banter but sometimes, he didn't agree with her decisions. Especially when she avoided his monthly functions. "I wasn't pouting." She stated, leaning on one of the shelves. "I got a mission so, scratch my name off the guest list for tomorrow night."
Tony's smile fades. He looks at you for a long moment, his expression going tight. He's not happy about you skipping yet another event. But rather than start an argument, he asks instead, "Where are you headed?"
"Wakanda." Victoria answered, not elaborating.
Tony's eyes widened, a slight flicker of surprise crossing his face. Wakanda? He hadn't expected that. "Why?" He tries to keep the tension out of his voice, but there's no hiding the concern in his eyes.
She was happy that her father hadn't started giving her attitude about her not attending the party. "Steve's friend, Bucky." She started to explain. "He's in Wakanda, the Princess is treating his conditioning - trying to demolish the Winter Solider." Victoria shrugged. "You know me and advanced technology. He thought I could help...and he wants a friend there."
Tony's worry eases slightly. He knows about Bucky, of course. The Winter Soldier, the infamous assassin. Helping to undo what HYDRA did to him wasn't something he objected to. And he understands the need for support.
He gives you a small nod. "Alright. Keep me updated. And...Victoria?" His voice goes soft. "Be careful."
She nods, turning back to the door. "Oh, and I'm bringing FRIDAY with me."
Tony raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement returning to his expression. "Bringing the bots, huh? Trying to show off your tech prowess, aren't you?" He smiles, glad to see you a little more lighthearted for the first time in a long while. "Alright. Just watch out for Wakanda's tech. They've got stuff that will knock even you on your ass."
Victoria chuckled at his comment. "You better up your own game, then." She rebutted.
Tony gives you a wry smile. "Don't worry, kid. You forget who you're dealing with here. I'll have some new goodies for when you return."
He crosses his arms. "Now, get out of here. Before I change my mind about letting you borrow Friday."
She grinned. "Yeah, yeah." And with that, she left the workshop - her feet echoed on the floating stairs that shifted under her feet as she made her way to her room to get her gear.
As Victoria ascended the floating stairs to her room, thoughts of the upcoming mission start to swirl through her mind. She begins packing her gear, making sure she has everything she might need in Wakanda. As she sorts through her supplies, a mix of anticipation and apprehension fills her. The unknown always holds a thrill, but it's also a constant reminder of the dangers that lie ahead. Despite the nerves, she can't help but feel a sense of excitement.  She's eager to see Wakanda's advanced tech and how it compares to Starks. As she packs, she notices two pictures. One is of her as a kid, asleep in her dad's embrace, and the other is her and Tony, taken not long after, on their first successful mission together. They're a team. She smiles softly before placing both pictures safely inside the bag.
With all the essentials packed, she heads towards the garage. The Quinjet is waiting for her, already fueled and prepped for takeoff. As she approaches, she can see the familiar shape of Friday's housing unit being loaded into the jet.
"All ready to go, Tori?" She asks, her voice filled with anticipation. "I've already downloaded a comprehensive database on Wakandan technology. It's quite impressive."
Victoria nods gently, though Friday can't see her. She was secured in an earpiece in her ear. "What else should I know? About Barnes, about Wakanda...?"
"Barnes' condition is improving with the help of Wakanda's healers and tech. They've already managed to dismantle some of the indoctrination that HYDRA instilled in him," Friday informs. "As for Wakanda, they value their privacy and highly protect their technology. The Dora Milaje, the warrior women, are formidable and will likely keep a close eye on us both." She pauses. "Oh, and the food is fantastic."
Victoria chuckled. "Sadly, I'm not going there for the food." She paused when both her father and Steve stood at the entrance of the Quinjet.
Tony and Steve stood near the Quinjet, watching as Victoria approaches. Tony's expression is a mixture of concern and pride, a look she's seen time and time before. Steve, ever the serious one, nods in greeting. The two men can't help but worry about your well-being, especially for this mission.
"I'll be fine, yeah?" She said to the two of them, in reassurance. She turned to Steve. "I'll bring your best friend home."
Tony gave a small nod, his expression softening, but the worry remains in his eyes. Steve, however, gives a small, almost imperceptible smile of approval.
"We know you will," he reassures. "Be careful in Wakanda. And don't hesitate to call if you need anything."
Victoria nodded. "Sure thing." She went to go into the jet before turning back around and hugging her dad.
Tony is taken aback by her sudden show of affection. His eyes widen slightly before he quickly composes himself. He hugs her tightly, ruffling her hair affectionately. It's a rare moment of parental vulnerability from him, and he cherishes it.
"Stay safe," he whispers, holding her close for a moment more. "We still have plenty to argue over when you get back."
She chuckled. "Yeah, like who let you wear those shoes."
Tony playfully rolls his eyes.  "Kid, these shoes are a fashion statement. You wouldn't know style if it smacked you in the face." Tony pulls back, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He looks down at his worn-out sneakers, a comfortable staple in his wardrobe. "Besides, these are just... comfortable."
Steve, still standing nearby, can't help but chuckle at the exchange between the two. It's moments like this that remind everyone of the family bond they've formed over the years.
Victoria walked backwards onto the boarding ramp and snickered. "You do realize, I'm the one who did most of the draft designs for your suits?"
Tony gives her a mock-indignant look, his hand over his heart. "Are you saying my suits are outdated?" He feigns hurt, though the playful glint in his eyes reveals his true feelings.
"Maybe we should leave the redesigning to the professionals," he quips with a grin. "Besides, we can't all pull off the casual sneaker-and-suit look."
Steve piped up, waving goodbye to me with a chuckle. "You definitely can't, Tony."
Tony rolls his eyes but can't resist a smile. "Keep it up, Cap. I could always program Friday to play baby shark on infinite loop in your helmet next time we're in the field."
"Hey Friday, keep that as a note." Victoria chuckled loudly...getting onto the Quinjet.
Friday's holographic form appears, shimmering beside you. "Noted," she assures Victoria, her voice filled with digital amusement. "Any other requests for Captain Rogers, while you're at it?"
Victoria smiled. "I'll think of something."
With a final farewell wave, the Quinjet's door seals shut behind her. She's enclosed in the sleek interior, the hum of the engines signaling that the adventure is just beginning.
As the Quinjet soars into the sky, heading towards the unknown lands of Wakanda, Victoria is filled with mixed emotions: excitement, anticipation, and a touch of anxiety. But as long as she's got Friday and her wits, she knows that she's ready for whatever comes her way.

miles' love — kaoru suzuki was one of the greatest names in baseball during the time miles attended university. to miles' surprise, when he arrives at stanford, there's a boy on his team: sora suzuki. they're teammates to begin with. the pair would show up to practices an hour early to use the weight machines without interruption. it's before the 6 a.m. gym rush and they'd get moments in passing to talk. it's starts out with the simple things: what classes are you taking? how long have you played baseball? all conversations that eventually pivot into talks about life. while miles never had in mind what kind of partner he was looking for (he always felt like such a kid, he was a devoted son, he wanted to be his siblings' baby brother, and he craved his mother's affection as a toddler would), there was something about sora's drive to do better that had the pair clicking the way that they do. sora suzuki was a crossfitter, he was a world traveler, and most importantly, he wanted to make a change in the world. there was always a goal to do better for himself and in turn, that would give him the tools to contribute. while it was expected of him, he knew that baseball wasn't going to help him change the world. the got to bond over over certain pressures and hurt. at the very least, they'd listen to one another. that fades into a certain kind of love. one that the two didn't quite know how to pinpoint. because love always felt like an understatement. it couldn't be hidden by a sense of camaraderie, the two were never seen without the other. there was no issue in sora's need to hide miles from his family. with their families renowned names in their respective industries, miles would have been a fool to not understand. on the other hand, miles never felt a need to make any sort of announcement. it was a simple love. when his sister ronnie visits, they don't hide. miles brushes sora's hand and helps fill his boyfriend's plate with food. after university, they move to los angeles to play baseball professionally. there are marathons in the city that the two run together. life with one another is a lovely thing. they learn from each other and find ways to navigate responsibilities outside of their bubble. they were never the type to take work home. that is, until sora's first game of the season requires him to undergo a UCL surgery. for recovery, he moves back to the bay area. it's mentally taxing for both of the boys and they decide to gives each other some space. it's not no contact so they talk to each other here and there. the love between the two never fade but brows are raised amongst their circle of friends when sora goes months without speaking to anyone. it's unlike him and miles does make a bigger attempt to make contact when their annual marathon comes around. considers the years they've spent training alongside each other and how despite any disputes, sora would show up. though there were no plans, they'd sign up for the marathon prior. sora is nowhere to be found and miles finds some acceptance that maybe it was the end of their relationship. trigger warnings: death there's an obituary that's sent around the friend group and one that's later found in the news. all those months, they had been messaging someone that couldn't respond. miles was projecting insecurities and waiting on someone that was no longer there. sora suzuki was hit by a vehicle that blew through a stop sign and succumbed to his injuries hours later. image description: miles lee receiving the news about sora minutes prior to a press conference.

trigger warnings: abandonment, smoking cigarettes parker's to blame — “ sometimes i think about it and i feel like patience would still be around if parker wasn't such a...  ” phoebe's voice trails off and there's a palm to the table. parker hears some of the silver to porcelain clink as her and logan, her partner at the time, sighs. “ he's turning eighteen next week right? can't we technically just cut it off? it's like having a kid and i'm not ready for that.  ” he stands in the dark, silently praying for any bit of context. in his own mind, he considers his recklessness as a kid. there's a scene he watches from the window: a group of older boys walk and loiter in the corner street of the neighborhood. he watches them go through packs of cigarettes before tossing some over the shoulder. the grass is drier that season and by no means was free from assisting the fire that comes. their home is one of the many that go down. when a new family takes them in, there's an unease. parker could tell that there was something that strikes fear in patience. it's not until her open-casket that he finds himself questioning more and more of the family and the system they've been forced into. maybe that's the grudge that phoebe holds against him. parker had told his sisters that he'd seen the group of kids with the cigarettes. they seemed to think the detail was unimportant until they hated their new home. phoebe is in shambles when she finds that perhaps, parker's silence was the cause of every unfortunate event that leads up to that funeral. “ oh you're home already?  ” ... “ how much of that did you hear?  ” he shrugs, “ enough to understand that you want me out by next week. yeah, that can happen. i'll figure it out.  ” when the following week comes, phoebe takes parker out for dinner. “ life has always been hard, hasn't it? ” she follows up by saying that she was looking into places for the two of them to stay. she admits that there are hard feelings about patience but she couldn't find it in herself to cast him out so she left logan instead. “ phoebe, i think this is the first time you've blamed me for something that's going to sit with me for a very long time.  ” parker leaves his dinner untouched. image description: parker naveau overhearing phoebe and logan.

Chapter 25
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jules had now been on tour with the driver era for a week now, they had played 2 shows in LA one in san diego and had just finished the show in san francisco.
Jules's heart had started to heal, it had taken a while and it still hurt everyday, especially when she found out from charli that matty and jade had started dating. When she heard that news her heart broke again, luckly ross was there to hold her in his arms while she cried. She was still in love with matty, he was her first love, first everything really and that's something that's hard to let go. But things were looking up for the blondie, a certain new front man had caught her eye and tonight was about to change everything.
After the set was done, and jules had packed up everything, she made her way backstage to go say hi to ross. She quietly knocked on the dressing room door, "come in" his voice responded , jules slowly opened the door, revealing a shirtless ross. "Oh shit sorry, i can leave" she said, her face turning a dark shade of pink. Ross chuckled "jules you've seen me without a shirt on before" he said, walking over to her and pulling her hands off her eyes. "I know but-" before she could finish her sentence ross connected his lips to her, jule's eyes fluttered closed as she continced to kiss him. The two pulled away from eachothers embrace " wow" jules said, her face turning pink, "I've been waiting to do that forever" he responded. Jules was shocked, she enjoyed the kiss truthfully, and knew it was ok to move on since matty had as well.
Instead of getting into her head to much, she decided to go with her heart " i'm glad you did" she responded back, and leant forward to place a quick kiss on his cheek. "Could i take you out sometime?" he asked, jules nodded her head "i'd like that".
Time Jump 1 month
Lots has happened in the past month, Jade and matty were still together and the 1975 just announced the release date of their new album.
Meanwhile jules and ross had gotten together, to jules the relationship felt right but part of her knew deep down that her and ross were just using this relationship to substitute for the fact they were both missing their soulmates.
Jules had learned early on that ross too was heartbroken, they needed eachother to ease the pain but both knew that it wasn't long term. But in the mean time both were happy and the driver era had just finished the US leg of their tour, and next stop was Europe!

Jules had heard from charli that the 1975 were playing a "One night only" show in london, she desperately wanted to go, she wanted to see him, she needed too. but still she was nervous to go, seeing him with her would be difficult, but she'd bring ross with her and that would help... maybe?
"Charli you're lucky i love you" jules told her friend over the phone. " it'll be fun! plus carly's not here so i'm sad, i miss my girls and i refuse to befriend jade and i haven't seen you in so long, bring ross along ok? " charli responded back. " ok ok, we'll be there around 6, i'll message you when we get there ok?" jules replied, "yay! see you then! bye girl!" charli said, before hanging up the phone.
"She's coming tonight isn't she?" a voice asked charli after she had hung up the phone. " Yes, i miss her and i'm not letting you be the reason my friend can't enjoy the band she's loved for ages, plus she's bringing her boyfriend " charli said and quickly covered her mouth after realizing she just revealed a secret.
Mattys face dropped when he heard those words, "shit you weren't supposed to know that, they've both kept it quiet she didn't want a lot of people to know" she said, part of her glad she let it slip since jules deserved to rub the fact she moved on in mattys face.
"oh" was all he could muster up "you don't get to be sad healy, you dumped her then got together with jade 1 week after the breakup, if you really loved her you'd just be happy she's happy" charli said to him before leaving the room.

Jules was quickly running around her apartment, making sure she had gotten everything she needed for the show tonight. Soon she heard a loud knock at her door, signaling that ross was there to pick her up, she quickly opened the door and greeted him "hey babe" she said, and leant forward to give him a kiss, Ross smiled widely at the gesture, "hey jules, you doing ok? I know seeing your ex and everything might be hard, but just know i'm here if you need anything ok?" he said. Jules nodded her head in response, then turned to shut and lock the door, the two then made their way down to his car and headed over to the venue.
Once the couple arrived at the venue, Jules quickly messaged charli, and let her know that they were there.
Soon Jules saw the familiar face of her favorite security guard, "Mark! Its been so long! I've missed you" she said, as she pulled him in for a hug. "I've missed you too jules, it hasn't been the same without you" mark replied back, pulling away from the hug, his eyes quickly met ross's, "Mark this is my boyfriend Ross, Ross this is mark hes like my tour dad, since I couldn't be around my family since I moved to england, he's always been there for me" jules said, smiling at the security guard she had grown to love.
"Pleasure to me you" Ross said, as he extended his hand out to shake his, "You as well, now take care of her ok?" mark said, ross nodded his head in response. "Now charli said to let you both in, i'm assuming you don't want to see him jules so i'll take you to the vip area and you can hang there till the show" he said, handing the couple two passes and leading them to their seats.

Mark made his way back to the green room to tell charli that Jules was here. "Hey charli jules is here, her and her boyfriend are in the VIP area" he said, before walking off to go do the last of his checks. "I'm going to go say hi and chill with them for the show, you'll do great babe I love you" charli said, as she kissed george goodbye and made her way to see her best friend.
"If it isn't my favorite blondie" charli said, causing jules to turn around "Charli!" she exclaimed and quickly ran to embrace her friend. "I missed you so much" jules whispered in her ear as the two hugged, "I've missed you too, we need to catch up" charli responded back, before pulling away, "And you must be ross, i've heard so much about you! It's nice to finally meet you" Charli said, holding out her hand for ross to shake, which he did. "It's nice to meet you too! Jules talks about you all the time" he responded, "All good things I hope" she joked, "Of course" jules chimed in.
"I'm going to get something to drink would you ladies like anything?" ross asked, "I'll just have a glass of red wine" jules said, "Oo that sounds good I'll have one as well" charli chimed in. Ross nodded his head, then placed a kiss on jule's forehead, before leaving to go to the bar.
"He's cute and sweet" charli said, "Yeah he's the best" jules said back, her smile faltering. "You miss him don't you jules, he misses you too I can tell, but you have ross so shouldn't you be happy" she asked her friend. "You'd think but ross and I truthfully are both just using this relationship to fill the void, we both lost the people we love. He told me about his ex and I told him about matty, and though I love ross I think him and I are meant to be friends, I'm honestly not sure why we're dating" jules laughed sadly at what she had just said.
" We've been together for a few weeks but I think we're going to break up soon", charli frowned when she heard jules say that. "Oh jules I'm sorry, you guys will still be friends right?" charli asked, jules nodded her head " of course, hes an amazing guy but I think it's best him and I just be friends" she responded back.
Charli quickly pulled jules into a hug, "You know I'm here if you need anything ok? Also here's something that might make you smile, george told me that matty told him that he has refused to sleep with jade, shes tried but he hasn't gone for it yet. Geez that girl drives me crazy i swear, also apparently the other night in the bus george heard matty moaning your name in his sleep" charli spilled, jules couldn't help but laugh.
"Wow, i mean ross and I haven't done anything either, i think about matty all the time truthfully, i know I should hate him since he broke my heart, I've tried moving on but hes still in my mind" jules mumbled, almost ashamed to admit she still had feelings for her ex, while she was with someone. "It'll work out I promise" charli said, then pulled jules in for another hug.
Eventually the fans were let into the building, all of them quickly running to try and get the best spot up front.
After an hour, when everyone was settled in, the house lights went out and the stage lights went on. Cheers filled the stadium as the band took the stage, matty was the last one to arrive on the stage, his curls were unruly and he was wearing a simple suit, jules thought he looked stunning.
The familiar tune of sex started to play, and before matty started to sing he said "This song goes out to someone special whos here tonight" and looked over to where jules was standing. Her cheeks flushed pinked and she sunk further into ross's arms, which were wrapped around her waist. "What the fuck does he think hes doing" she thought.
About mid way through the show, matty addressed the crowd once more "Now as you know we just announced the release of our new album! Tonight I wanted to play a song from it, I wrote this a few weeks ago about someone from my past, I hope you guys like it this is called "San Francisco".
Julies heart dropped when she heard the song title, San Francisco was where they said 'I love you' for the first time, thats where she realized that not only did she love him but she was in love with him. He knew that place was special for the both of them, thats why he wrote the song.
"Holding on, I'm holding on to your clothing
Holding on, I'm holding on to our story
remember the time
In San Francisco
With me by your side
In San Francisco
You are such a sight, the deepest brown eyes
My dear, my dear
You know it suffocated our love
You really didn't do a thing wrong
Now I am superstitious of love
And baby, we overplayed our song
Our song, oh
Ah, yeah, yeah
Holding on, I'm holding on to your body
(To, to your body, to, to your)
Holding on, I'm holding on to this feeling (feeling)
Ooh
And we'll drive all night
To San Francisco
Our happiest time
In San Francisco
You know that I'm right, and there's reasons why
My dear (my dear), my dear"
Tears ran down her face as she heard him sing those lyrics, she couldn't sit through it anymore, she had to get out. Quickly, she pulled herself away from ross and ran to the exit.
Matty saw her leave out of the corner of his eye, he also saw a man, who he presumed was her new Boyfriend, follow her. He wanted so desperately to be the one to run after her, but knew he had a show to continue and a girlfriend to see after it.
Outside the venue, jules was stood against the wall, tears now pouring out of her eyes as she repeated the lyrics over and over again. "Jules" a familar voice said, quickly pulling her out of her thoughts.
"Ross" she mumbled, as she looked up at him " You still love him don't you jules, it's ok if you do, i think we both knew how this was going to end" he chuckled slightly, "I think we both just needed someone, but i think our hearts both belong to someone else" he said.
"Ross I'm sorry, you know you're one of the best guys I've ever met, but you're right about everything. We can still be friends right?" she asked. "Of course, you didn't think you could get rid of me that easily right" he laughed, and pulled her into a hug, "You'll still come on tour with us right?" he asked, "Of course" she smiled, as she wiped away her tears.
"I should probably get going then, do you want a ride or are you going to stay with charli" he asked, "I'll probably stay with charli, but thank you for the offer" she responded, and gently placed a kiss on his cheek. "She's lucky to have you ross, go get her while you still can ok?" jules said, referring to his ex, who she knew he still harbored feelings for. "I will" he said, before turning around and heading to his car

So one of my go-to favorite games whenever DC creates a new adaptation of their stuff is to imagine how I'd work my favorite characters into that new world. Or, on the off chance my favs are actually introduced into that world, how I'd adapt or work in some of their best stories. So while I may have mostly lost interest in the Young Justice cartoon, I still sometimes kick around my idea for a potential origin story for its version of Tim Drake.
It would be set around the era of the first season, when the series was at its best, maybe a few months after the whole thing with the Light went down. It'd start with Dick getting picked up from Gotham Academy early for some training thing, so he's alone outside the school waiting for Alfred to pick him up when, all of a sudden, a certain black-haired, blue-eyed child from the elementary school rushes up and grabs onto him, begging for help.
He's being pursued by two men in suits who are very deliberately *not* running as they demand Dick hand the kid over, insisting that they're here to pick him up for his parents. Kid says they're lying -- "My parents aren't even in the country and they're not my nannny." -- and Dick of course believes him. He pulls a fast one as Alfred pulls up, grabbing the kid and leaping with him into the back of the limo, shouting at Alfred to floor it; he does, and they leave the shouting goons in the dust.
In the aftermath, the naturally freaked-out kid starts crying, and when Dick tries to soothe him by telling him he's safe he says he knows -- he knew Dick would help him "'cause you're Robin."
From there it comes out that the kid is of course Tim and what he knows about Dick and how, which all pretty much lines up with canon. From there the story turns into a mystery about the disappearance of Jack and Janet Drake on their latest dig -- they were supposed to call Tim two days ago and they might travel all the time but they never miss their call-ins -- and then these strangers showed up trying to take Tim out of school with forged permission slips from his parents so something's definitely up.
Dick initially calls in just Wally for support (Tim of course pegs him as KF immediately), though the rest of the team gets called in once they put together what's actually going on: Jack and Janet have been kidnapped by some international organized crime group who are holding them for ransom. The D.I. board intends to simply not pay the ransom, let said criminals murder the Drakes, and disappear Tim so the company will be split between the board members instead. So the Team heads out on a rescue mission, with Dick leaving a distraught Tim with Alfred and promising him they're going to bring his parents home -- though unfortunately it goes bad and Dick falls just short of rescuing the pair from whatever poisoning/electric/super-science death-trap they've been placed in.
In a twist on canon, Jack is the one who dies in this timeline and Janet survives. The question of how Tim became Robin is answered by a flash-forward -- years later, when Dick is Nightwing and it's implied to be just after Jason dies in the line of duty, a now-teenage Tim meets up with Dick in a dinner, having stayed a close friend for all these years, and tells him he wants to volunteer -- he's been training all this time, and he truly believes that there needs to be a Robin both to help Batman and to save "people like me." He wins Dick over and the rest is history.
So, yeah. Bit of a rambling summary but I've got a few really strong detailed scenes in mind and then long stretches of pfffffffft.
