patrick saying his we made it moment is seeing people stay for saturday is making me feel sooo insanely emotional because it’s like. such a personal metric of success?? like. saturday was never a big hit, but they chose to end every show with it years ago anyways. even when they could see people leaving during it, they chose to keep playing it. because it meant something to Him and to Them, and to the diehard fans too. and just imagining, as time goes on, seeing people choosing to stay. actively seeing peoples opinions and hearts change over time and decide that its worth it to stay, to feel the love and importance that song holds for the band. it’s beyond just a symbolic show that your music is resonating with people and making it into their hearts- people staying Literally shows that. all us believers still believe everytime we sing two more weeks, y’know? and with every show, maybe they’re picking up more believers. and That is how patrick measures his success— in how many people are choosing to believe and to stay.

After throwing the last of the tp onto the manor they hop back over the wall, wandering back to where Jason parked his motorcycle earlier.

Honestly, Jason knows that it felt like it was too easy.

And it was.

The only reason they were able to freely “break into” the manor is because Jason was with Danny, showing he wasn’t a threat. He’s certain Babs has already noticed the loop he had put the cameras on. She probably hasn’t interrupted them yet out of politeness, or so that she can gather more blackmail.

It’s likely both…

Jason conspicuously checks his phone while walking when he notices he has a new message.

Jason, knowing he’s already lucky enough that Alfred isn’t upset with either him or Danny, lets out a relieved breath. He quickly answers Alfred, apologizing for the tp-ing despite absolutely not regretting it in the slightest and replying to the implied question in the positive.

It’s also a bonus Alfred approves. He supposes as he reads Alfred’s next text.

Steph stares in shock at the manor, completely covered in tp, in front of her. She drops the bag she’s holding onto the ground.

How dare they…

“Damn it!”

Out of the dropped bag rolls a roll of toilet paper.

“Who got here before me?!?” She exclaims, feeling oh so deeply betrayed. “And why wasn’t I included?!”

She quickly takes out her phone, a displeased frown on her face, paired with a pout. She opens the group chat and takes a pic of the manor. As she’s typing, she vows to herself…

She’s going to get to the bottom of this.

Danny checks his phone for directions to the location he had in mind.

Earlier that week he had scouted the city in his ghost form in order to find a place for the date. After finding the perfect spot, he marked the location down on his phone so he would easily be able to find it again.

After double-checking his phone, Danny puts it away and they both get on Red Hood’s motorcycle again. Danny gives him the directions as they drive, the sky slowly beginning to darken.

The location he chose wasn’t too far off from the manor, and in no time they arrived at the top of a hill looking out over Gotham City.

They get off of the motorcycle and Danny gets his bags out of the saddle bags as Red Hood, who had already taken off his helmet and is currently holding it under his arm, seems to be looking around.

“So, what’s the big plan, Polaris?” he asks.

Danny raises a curious eyebrow at the nickname.

“Polaris?”

Red Hood nods.

“You’ve mentioned before, while you were telling me about Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, how Ursa Minor is also known as the Little Bear constellation and how it contains the North Star, which is also referred to as the Pole Star or Polaris.

“Besides that, I felt like Polar Bear was a bit too long for a nickname, and Polar-is, which again is in the Little Bear constellation, just seemed to fit perfectly.” Red Hood says, a cheeky grin on his face.

Danny pauses, his cheeks flushing a little.

“You know what? That’s pretty creative, I’ll give you that.” Danny says, nodding.

“Though, to answer your question, I thought this would be a nice place to have a picnic dinner,” He says with a smile as he takes out a picnic blanket and some food and drinks he had brought along as well.

Red Hood smiles back at him.

“You know what? That sounds great. Here, lemme help you put it down” He says, reaching out for the blanket.

A little while later, they’re sitting on a blanket, looking up at the stars. They’re taking their time enjoying the food and looking out over the city and the night sky.

 Jason has his helmet set down next to him, mask still on his face, of course. He’s almost fully lying down, leaning back on his elbows. Danny sits cross-legged next to him.

“So, Mr. Aerospace Engineer, what can you tell me about what we’re seeing here?” Jason asks, gesturing at the night sky.

He glances over at Danny. Danny, who had been looking up at the sky in awe, meets his gaze. Danny takes a moment to respond, looking back at the sky and then looking Jason over before meeting his gaze once again.

“Why don’t you tell me more about yourself?” He asks instead, tilting his head.

“You’ve told me before how you love English literature, especially the classics. But what’s your favorite book?”

Jason’s face lights up with a smile as he starts telling Danny about Sense and Sensibility from Jane Austen.

There’s a lull in conversation when Jason looks over at Danny, studying his peaceful expression. While taking in the beauty of the man next to him, Jason makes a decision.

To hell with it.

Jason takes off his mask. The action causes Danny, who had just turned to look at him, to immediately avert his gaze, cheeks slightly red. Danny opens his mouth to say something but Jason interrupts him before he can.

“No, no, it’s alright. If we’re actually doing this, if we’re actually dating… perhaps becoming more… then at the very least you deserve to know who you’re dating”

Danny hesitantly looks back up at Jason, making eye contact. Jason smiles at him, Danny giving a small smile back in response. He holds out his hand. Danny glances at it before giving him a questioning look.

“I’m Jason, Jason Todd.”

Danny’s smile transforms into a small grin. He grasps Jason’s hand, shaking it.

“Hi, Jason… I’m Danny, Danny Fenton.”

They shake hands and let go. The short silence afterward gets broken by Danny in no time.

“Jason?”

He makes a questioning noise in response.

“Can I kiss you?”

The question brings Jason’s thoughts to a stop and he sucks in a breath. Danny watches him, face filled with nervousness. Letting out a breath, Jason replies with a small teasing smile.

“Well, since we’ve already been to dinner I suppose I’m still owed one…”

After a few seconds, realization crosses over Danny’s face.

“I totally forgot I actually said that, oh the Ancients.” He takes a deep breath, running his hands over his face before dropping them back into his lap.

“Wait, so that’s why you came over to my apartment that first time with flowers and took me out to dinner?”

Jason sits up fully, turning so he’s facing Danny better. His gaze is filled with fondness and exasperation as he responds.

“You mean to tell me you forgot we agreed to go out to dinner first after I asked you if I could kiss you? Did you think I was just taking you out without asking then?

“Why did you even let me lead you out the window? Did you have any idea what I was talking about when I told you of the plans I had made that evening?”

Danny’s cheeks flush. Embarrassment fills his voice as he speaks.

“I mean, I don’t know, I thought you were just taking me out to dinner to thank me? For the— uh, murder?” He whispers the last word.

“I was, but I was mainly taking you out on a date. You do know that, right? I had considered that our first date, the tour being the second one.”

“Well, I did wonder later on if the dinner and observatory might have been a date but I figured it might have been some form of false hope, and I didn’t wanna have to ask. Especially if it wasn’t actually meant as a date....” Danny says.

Danny is rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, looking down at the blanket. His cheeks are still flushed. Jason lets out a sigh as he shakes his head a little.

“Well, it’s not entirely your fault. I guess I also could have been clearer. But… You don’t mind that having been our first date?” Jason asks, keeping his gaze on Danny’s face to study his reaction. “Even if you didn’t quite realize it was meant to be a date at the time?”

Danny shakes his head, smiling at him.

“No, no… I don’t mind.”

They’re both gazing softly at each other. Danny moves a bit closer and raises his hand, gently placing it on Jason’s cheek. When he speaks, his tone is a soft whisper.

“Well, since we got a liiiiittle bit off-topic I suppose I’ll ask again. Jason Todd, can I kiss you?”

“I’d like nothing more”

Now, having verbal consent, Danny places his other hand on Jason’s other cheek. Jason places his hands on Danny’s arms. They both lean in, closing their eyes.

They kiss.

It’s only a short moment after when they both suddenly jerk away from each other.

Two pairs of toxic green glowing eyes meet.

One gaze filled with shock, realization, and a small twinge of excitement. The other filled with pain, comprehension, and horror.

They both speak at once.

One voice filled with amazement. The other filled with devastation.

“You’ve died?”

Siv(my oc)/Archibald(selkys's oc) : Truly The Ship, at the core of the story I'm rp-ing with Selkys. They fought the plot AND tons of shit in-universe to be together. How to sumarize them... ha, picture an evil genius Sith Lord suddenly switching his whole reason of living from revenge to absolute devotion toward his fiery sunshine smol wife and you get and idea !

Hazel(OC)/Sycamore (Pokemon) : Basically started because I wanted to explore a ship with Sycamore and Hazel was my only Pokemon OC at the time - I didn't even knew much about him except I liked his design and vibes immensely. I actually managed to write a deliciously complicated story around them and I really hope to explore more♥

Willow(OC)/Grimsley(Pokemon) : Willow is my pokemas protag and in a game were you basically meet all pokemon trainers, I do have many ships with her and that is originally why she was created, just a character to be indulgent and explore different stuff. But Grimsley is my fav pairing for her because I imagined such a """fun""" (for me 8D) dynamic between them ! Two word : trust issues.

I can't really remember my first FIRST ship, but growing up I wasn't too much into romance stories I think. But I do vividly remember my first "holy shit you can do THAT??" when playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time and discovering you could romance Garrus. And note, this is for subspecies, not factions, so there wouldn’t be one for autobots and decepticons,

And if I should put all beast formers(like the insecticons and such) or have the insecticons be their own subspecies, a sort of hive mind one

I also had this idea of headmasters being a subspecies but am a bit iffy on it,

I also just wondered if cybwrtronians with animal robot modes should count as their own subspecies or as part of the beast formers, and what their relation with beast formers would be

Probaly won’t have girls be an entire subspecies and just not give gender, more have it that they are all trans in that each one chooses its gender

i really wish transformers fiction had like.a reasonable way to explain the different sizes and types of cybertronians since as far as i'm aware there aren't any tf universes that .reproduce in a way that passes on physical traits to offspring so evolution in the way we're used to probably isn't an option.,?? but there clearly are distinct types that are made of groups too large and have differences too great to just be individuals that are like,, racecar vs warframe, that can more or less switch their alt mode to something generally similar to their original

like i'm sure this is what you're referring to as well, there's massive difference between minicons and titans and the main autobot cars right.,.even between ground vehicles and fliers,.

okkokok i don't know if you're basing your ideas off a specific existing continuity or making your own here but the ones i'm most familiar with at the moment are cartoon g1, aligned, idw1, and then some of animated so i'm mostly sourcing my braindumping out of those

so the alternative to like.survival of the fittest over generations of passing on traits seems to be. possibility one is that a higher power like the original primes or another kind of pressure arranges for existing cybertronians close in location or social standing to get reformatted into the subspecies that you've mentioned above, for greater chance of survival in their environment, to be useful in terms of functionism, or something else that i can't think of right now..

or another possibility could be that all cybertronians simply get born from the allspark or the matrix or whatever with like. a random chance of emerging as a beastformer or a triple-changer or anything, or if i pull this back towards your ideas of the primes representing these subspecies, maybe the primes would have had some sort of control over the physiology of the new cybertronians,,,,but then i get the question of why would they do that.,,. and then theres the question of,, if a bot gets reformatted or gets a full-frame overhaul or something, like idw megatron going from mining tank to handgun to space thingy to.i think some kind of tank again,, does the change in frame type change what the individual is classified as?,.;']?

and then also do you happen to have any ideas/hcs of how these subspecies are different from each other apart from the obvious bit of the alt modes? bc i don't know if anything has suggested that there are in canon series, but i think there really should be because its fictional alien robot biology and its cool and im always craving it

On July 26 we're going to post fics, hcs, art, cosplays, vids etc to show ppl that were back with a force 💣👏 Ive set some ground rules for OPERATION HOT CHIMP and all DD content going forward. Lets face it, DD is in shambles but this will place us at the top of the fandom:

i don't think I've ever truly realized and really absorbed just how much being the therapist friend for slightly less than a year messed me up (personal rant below cut)

like- I really do hope that none of y'all have to experience opening a group chat just to see so much drama. I hope no one else becomes the default venting one-stop shop.

and I totally get how I ended up there. I've always been willing to reach out and help, at least I think so. even in my character ai chats where I can go loose and wild, I often choose to go the angst route and comfort the characters. I know that part of me exists. however, months of being a therapist friend slowly killed that part of me.

I think it was at some point in late April, when I was recovering from three months of a rock-bottom mental health state, that I slowly faded away from that group chat. I didn't want to care about whoever leaves or whatever they were feeling. to me, the moment I asked, I would be the "did [name] already tell you about-" and "I miss her so much" and "my parents do this and that" and I couldn't keep up anymore.

but that went too far. now, I absolutely hate the sound of anyone grumbling or crying or expressing literally any negative emotion. someone's mad? I need to escape immediately. someone's upset? I need to ignore them.

i think being a therapist friend damaged that sympathetic side of me so much that I did not even want to be a part of the problem. to me, if I escaped, it's as if it never happened.

and i know that's cruel. they're only expressing what they feel, even if it's negative. but damn it, forgive me if I was so used to that being the norm that the moment I was free of it, I wanted to never go back.

tldr: being the therapist friend killed some part of my sympathetic side.

so i'll start off by saying that, in my lil AU/canon story, Jack n Perse don't meet until a full year after the official ending of XS

i want to make a comic of them meeting sometime in the future, but to make a long story short, Persephone was an aspiring journalist wanting to make a headline, and Jack is/was an opportunist but also helplessly lonely right

(aaand he needed to repay her after wrecking her car....with his body. literally right after she spent all her savings on it)

also, in my AU, he is currently over 18, moved out of his parents' house and into his own warehouse-converted Evil Lair™️ (a nod to chronicles but not chronicles) Perse was willing to work for him as an assitant for him to repay her for her car but also had her own motives in the beginning once she got to know about all the mystical bullshit shenanigans revolving around Shen Gong Wu

their relationship at first had some bickering because they both have very strong personalities lol

but Perse is naturally a very curious and genuine person. she took a liking to Jack pretty early on because he was so different from anyone else in her life. she came from a very religious, cookie cutter background and appreciated him not conforming to any given mold set for him -- she found him to be relatable despite them coming from verryyy different backgrounds. they both know what it feels like to be the black sheep of the family and always being misunderstood, looked over, and not good enough

Jack took a lot more time to warm up to her presence, obviously he's not used to having a companion that won't stab him in the back or who isn't a robot he built himself (and also stab him in the back lmaoo)

so it definitely did take them a minute to Get Together!!! but they formed a pretty decent companionship before they actually started to get romantic with one another. i'd def describe it as a mutual pining situation except they're both dumbasses

ahhhh !!! i want to talk about this so bad thank you for asking!! spoilers for the manga up to chp 202 in this, so cont below the cut !!

ok ok ok so i posted the favorite character list and then, like, a day later i kinda fell in love with kunigami. in my defense, i had only read up to 78 when i made that post and then kunigami proceeded to do a series of things that made me insane: (1) lost the game w isagi, thus giving up chigiri, (2) got in a fight with shidou, who kind of drives me insane (derogatory), (3) chose the wild card door and then fucking disappeared???? and then (4) came back Changed™. i am so normal about the all of that. so so so normal.

but okay so basically, i am SO intrigued by kunigami's new development. the general "disappear and come back different" is SO interesting. i may just be missing some pieces, i kinda speed ran the manga instead of looking tooooo in depth, and now i'm kinda going back through and finding all the little details--so please lmk if i'm not seeing major bits or if i'm interpreting things wrong!!

but overall, the goal was to create the next noel noa, right? like, physique-wise? but like,,,, what did they actually do. i am sooo curious about whatever the fuck happened to him. i actually have so many questions and i. i don't even know where to start.

i was actually gonna make a post abt this--i decided not to because idk i didn't want to be annoying or whatever (which is stupid because this is the being annoying or whatever website, but i digress)--so i could talk about kunigami post-wild card and about chigiri and kunigami's friendship! the main point of the post was that i got SO invested in their friendship when they teamed up in the second selection in chp 44:

and then i'm invested in their friendship all over again when they actually play together in chp 58:

they're truly one of my favorite dynamics to come out of team z (bachira and isagi being my number one favorite, of course), and i'm so intrigued to see what's going to happen with them. i think it's also really interesting to look at the moments after the game (chp 68), right, okay because several things stick out to me there. so, first of all, isagi's words to reo:

which sticks out to me because what the whole "wild card" deal feels like to me is very much a "choose your fate" situation...like, kunigami could have exited OR he could have gone through the second door, not knowing what's behind it, and not being able to undo it. but this moment is also him taking charge of his fate and his future--on one hand, he's on his way out and he's kind of grasping at straws to stay and change his future, but he's also still reaching out and doing it, yk? i also wonder how many other people took this path--and even how many other people were offered the option in the first place.

in his last game, neither of them where "the one that chooses." reo got picked to join the other team. kunigami was the one who was left behind. but he still got to choose the second door. and i think that taking charge and making deliberate choices are both huge parts of succeeding at blue lock.

the wild card is also interesting because kunigami trades having to win every game / be the loser who gets picked by the other players in exchange for getting to the next phase but, like, at what fucking cost? he seems to have been hand chosen by ego after a different training and selection, but again, at what fucking cost?

so anyways, the other thing that happened after that match is what chigiri says specifically to kunigami:

this is interesting to me because this reminds me a LOT of what nagi and reo talk about in the germany v england match later on. in the beginning of the second selection, nagi talks about wanting to learn better soccer by being with isagi, then in the third selection, nagi says that his new whole goal is to beat isagi. if i recall correctly, him and reo start syncing up again in part bc of this goal to beat isagi.

so chigiri incentivizing kunigami by saying that WE have to win against ISAGI is reaaaallyyyy interesting. also, chigiri calling kunigami "hero" makes my little heart beat, but that's a side note.

this moment also makes me insane because it ALSO feels like a parallel to the bachira & isagi "i won't wait for you...if you want me, come and steal me" moment. i'm not quite sure what to make of any of that, but this is all spinning around in my head on a microwave dish.

then the other thing spinning in my head is the moment prior to the germany v england match, with chirigi, reo, and kunigami talking to each other (chp 173):

so coupla things here ig? first, "the same old you i knew" versus the switch from "hero" to "cynic hero." that's notable to me. not sure why. but it is. i think also this idea of fighting the same old you is really interesting because a huge theme i'm seeing in this manga on the first read through is the idea of change and evolution. there's no such thing as "the same old you" because they have all leveled up so much, they've all changed and grown and developed and evolved into something new--chigiri himself included.

so...maybe kunigami has a point that they DO all need to let go of who he used to be. the problem is that the person he used to be is so hard to let go of, especially when no one has seen this change happen or knows why it happened.

that being said, the idea of chigiri "waking him up" is kind of driving me up the walls. i feel like someone has to knock some light into kunigami again, but i have no idea how that's going to happen. i think it's hard because, in a lot of metrics, he's ranked really high and being really successful; whatever the wild card path was, it did something "right."

that being said, i then don't see much change in environment coming along, or any change in how his training is happening. if anything is going to change, it's going to be via some mid-game internal discourse sparked by isagi; and i think it would be most satisfying if chigiri was really important there too. but again, i don't think that it's coming soon, maybe not even in this general arc?

tbh, ultimately, i think, long term, kunigami won't make it to the best 23 as he is. that's not to say it's impossible for him to make it to the u20 team, but i think the way that he's going right now isn't going to be good enough to make it. he is genuinely performing really well, but i also can't see anyone building a team around him as a center point in the same way that the manga is constantly talking about building teams around isagi's most notable rivals and top competition (ex. kaiser, rin, and even nagi).

kunigami is great as his own little point of gravity, but no one is orbiting around him. which is actually really, really sad to me, because i think he truly could have been one of the best there if the circumstances had been even just slightly different. blue lock is truly so so tragic because there is so much skill in that prison and so much of it is being wasted and for what.

and kunigami honestly, from the very beginning, was always going to be hurt more than helped by blue lock. he was set up as a character who runs by fair play, someone who will win and will fight but will also still play by the rules. at the end of the day, yes, he gets results: he scored a goal in the first selection. but he also split his meal with isagi. he still rewarded the assist. that's not the goal of blue lock.

isagi kinda acknowledges something similar when he wins against him in the second selection, too. kunigami is strong and a great player, but he's not going to "devour" the others on the field in the same way so many others are going to do and going to try to do.

something about either the circumstances (blue lock) or kunigami himself was going to have to change in order for him to come out of this on top, and blue lock's rules aren't going to be changing any time soon.

idk. his story just feels so sad to me already and we don't even know how it ends yet.
