Sometimes I think about how the entire history of the advancement of human weapons can be boiled down to: “we found more elaborate ways to hit things with rocks…”
Spears? Sharpened rocks.
Slingshot? Ranged rocks.
Arrows? Sharpened rocks with range.
Hammers/Clubs? Refined rocks.
Swords/axes? Sharpened refined rocks.
Guns? Sharpened, refined rocks, propelled by explosives…
We discovered how to make explosives, and we fine tuned that technology to better propel refined and sharpened rocks at insane distances… we are still hitting things with rocks… we just became experts in the science of hitting things with rocks… The human race is basically just a “dump everything into geology” build…

Prompt 279
Now Danny didn’t mean to make a Bootube channel. He’d meant to send that sleep deprived ramble to Tucker, but he had clicked on the wrong app and yeah. Apparently people enjoy his space rambles- or it could have been the ghost blob-cats that had decided to flop onto him. (Honestly he wasn’t surprised they would start to mimic the shapes of things in their surroundings)
Tucker? Found it hilarious, as did Sam and Val and… um, okay this has become their shared channel now, nice. Though there are some strange comments on some of the videos. Really, what do they mean green sky and crazy tech???

Aliens upon learning that we were not actually in a nuclear war: Ok? I guess testing a weapon makes sense. But why did you need to test the same weapon 2058 times?
Human: 2056
Alien: *visible fear as the realization kicks in and they question which ones weren’t tests

Prompt 168
So. Apparently halfas are like phoenixes or something, which Danny would’ve really liked to know.
See, usually with ghosts if they’re forced to retreat to their cores they reform as was, but apparently, since they’re still partially living, schrodinger's people and all that, halfas have to regrow their body from scratch. At least that’s what he’s understanding from Frostbite.
But how come he has to deal with it? It’s Dan’s fault for trying to pull such a stunt! Oh, it’s either him or Vlad? Well fuck, he might have calmed down and is going to therapy in both the living realm and the Zone, but he’s waaay not equipped to raise a child except for like, monetarily wise.
Well dammit, how long will this core incubation thing last, he has his new job in… let him check which offer he accepted again… He has his new job in Coast City that he needs to finish packing for and then all the rest of the stuff to do.
What do you mean it’ll take months?! He doesn’t have months?! Urgh, fine. At least being a mortician isn’t that exciting, nor dangerous. Just hand him Dan’s core and he’ll figure things out for the living side of things. He’s sure Tucker and Sam wouldn’t be against helping, if only to try and claim favorite aunt or uncle spots.

Chemical Weapon Woes
The new species are immune
We found them in a Bunt'az bunker from the last war. They entered it innocently to explore, not knowing it was an outpost that was far from safe. Our warning alarms were triggered as they entered the atmosphere and we were deployed to investigate. Sometimes ships veer into danger accidentally, and it is our job to lead them back to safety.
Their ship, a strange bulky craft with odd untranslatable hieroglyphs, was on the main landing pad by the time we arrived.
There was no one in the ship, they were all inside. We knew the chances of them being hurt or killed increased with every moment so we donned our armour and raced in as quickly as we dared.
They were there having already disabled two traps, how they knew what to look for and how we have still dared not ask them.
The third trap, the nastiest one, was set off while we were still an airlock behind them. We were safe, but they were surely dead. Air ducts pumped the toxic chemical into the room while sealing the door.
I watched them through the door, one turning to look up at the vent as the fans whirled into life. Handheld instruments were raised into the air, chemical detectors.
Expecting to watch them panic, I instead saw the unthinkable.
One of them reached up and unclipped their helmet. They took it off and stood in the midst of the most toxic environment the Bunt'az ever created, reacting with every sign of pleasure.
This may sound horrific, but I swear on the life of my hatchlings it is true, Humans can survive in pure oxygen. Not only that, but they have since told me they used it to help their sick. Yes, to help.
The mere existence of these creatures is insane.
