"You can have thought crimes but only the ones I don't personally find gross. Thought crime is real tho."
?????
We live in an era where people with public facing careers can get smeared into homelessness by an armchair diagnosis of an "unacceptable" attraction based on a drawing they retweeted and you really want to die on this hill?
"People deserve to die bc they have feelings and thoughts I don't like." Do you hear yourself.
Let's go ahead and persecute half or more of all mentally ill and queer people, too, for thinking about suicide (which is a crime in many places), murder of people abusing them or just in general bc mental illness, people with p-ocd, people with attachment disorders who want to stalk their crush (but don't do that.) In fact let's just be cruel to everyone who's ever had a "morally unacceptable" thought. Oh wait. That's most of the people on Earth. Huh.

as a sera fan, im curious as to what your thoughts are regarding her lines toward krem? /gen
ok if u really want me to talk dragon age on tumblr dot com publicly where anyone who searches their names will see ur gonna have to give me more than that particularly with a character that tends to bring out some of the worst of the fandom
tell me the exact comments you want me to think on and exactly why you want me to. i'm sure this is some "what are ur thoughts on sera being transphobic" but i want to give u time to like. expand ur ask cuz if thats truly the case such a vaguely worded low info ask isn't something i appreciate for such a topic yknow what i mean
dragon age in general has never been a trans friendly series and krem comes across to me as an appeasement like hey look. we dont actually hate trans people :) look we made one :) stop criticising us now!
it is also worth me mentioning i either don't recruit ironbull or i barely interact with him, and thus, the charges. i don't hate krem, but ironbull makes me deeply uncomfortable for personal reasons so there's a very good chance i have missed some sort of dialogue. so the vague ask in that context is extra confusing cuz i googled it and i couldn't even see people talking about sera and krem together
and i also think sera's writer is a lesbophobic ableist cockhead who genuinely hated sera and wrote her with intent for you not to like her, and i feel that's pretty much the general consensus there with sera fans and is the primary reason we say we want to take her out of dragon age and put her in a better series - its not so much dragon age hate (though it is) it's more pointed as 'get her the hell away from bioware'
if this is about sera going "he's a she" at the ball, i cannot outright say that's transphobic because we have absolutely zero context on who that is said at. it could very well be transphobic. it could very much not be. in the context of dragon age where trans people have only just started to exist with any level of respect in the universe, do i think the writers are suddenly all going to be respectful? absolutely not. like i said i think krem is there to appease not to show real change and improvement. with how sera's writer clearly doesn't like her adding another way to justify fans hating her like how he does yknow, also makes sense to me.
did i personally, as a trans person, think sera was transphobic in that moment? not really?? my genuine first thought was it was probably an assassin or a bard or a servant pretending to be a man to get more respect and not just be leered at and seen as a sex object and to get less attention at the ball because dragon age loves to be misogynistic. i was so out of the mindset that bioware cares for trans people at all, or even thinks about them at all, to even add transphobia - my first thought was this is coded in misogyny and the history of "woman pretends to be man" that media still likes to do. lmao

On a replay on DeSu and I've saved and redeemed Keisuke this time and am conflicted. I thought what Keisuke and Yama were doing was good for the lockdown and the only way it could've turned sour is if Yama starting judging people for the crimes they have the possibility to commit. Tbh not exactly sure what my question is, but was interested on hearing your thoughts on the redemption because your knowledgeable on the game and I wouldn't be surprised if I missed something.
Tumblr media
Aw, hello anon!! I'm so happy to get this ask. I always love talking about my thoughts on the game, and I love Keisuke, so getting this ask is such a treat 🥰
Keisuke is a pretty controversial character among fans. I've seen people say he didn't do anything wrong, and I've also seen people say he's unforgivable because murder is wrong, no matter what. How you view him really depends on what your morals are, and that shapes whether or not you think he needs a "redemption" or not.
Personally, while I don't think Keisuke did nothing wrong, I don't actually take much issue with his partnership with Yama. Keisuke has always made it very clear that he kept his own personal judgment out of it, letting Yama do the ruling. If Yama were to kill Keisuke, he'd be fine with that since it's for the better of the world.
Everyone in the lockdown that Yama has judged has either killed someone or attempted to kill someone. This is already something that some fans find to be wrong or immoral, but for the sake of argument, let's say that Keisuke was justified in doing so.
So what should we think about this exchange?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I find interesting about this exchange is that Keisuke didn't open with the fact that these Daemons killed people. He didn't say "Yama judged them because they've killed others." He starts rattling off a list of lesser crimes before throwing out the fact that they've killed someone. This implies that Keisuke is actually factoring in these incidents of vandalism or assault and holding it against them as well. Why were those crimes brought up? Are those relevant? And why did Keisuke frontload his justification with those lesser crimes?
Keisuke started off this justice kick because he saw Midori on the brink of being killed by other people. He continued it because senseless murder and killings were continuing to be rampant throughout the lockdown. But what happens when Keisuke decides that lesser crimes need to be judged as well?
We know that Keisuke is holding onto some misgivings about society, and this mindset is why he feels he's the perfect partner for Yama.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lockdown was just the final nail in the coffin, but this storm has been brewing for a long time. Keisuke has had a grudge simmering inside him that boiled over when he summoned Yama.
If Keisuke continued on his current path, I don't think it's a stretch to think that he would eventually consider lesser crimes deserving of death. That wouldn't affect Yama's ruling, as Yama's judgment is independent from Keisuke's opinion, but that's still a very warped moral compass for Keisuke to keep.
Of course, Keisuke would never live long enough to see himself become that twisted (thanks, Kaido!), but hey, this is all just speculation of a hypothetical scenario.
Anyway, everyone has their own thoughts as to how justified Keisuke was in his actions, whether these actions were forgivable, or if they even needed to ask for forgiveness at all. Personally, I think Keisuke needed to be stopped before he reaches a point of no return. I don't agree with the "if you use violence, you're just as bad as the people you're killing" stance, but I do know of some people who have that mindset, so...
Keisuke's actions are the epitome of a moral dilemma. Whether or not you think it's justified is something you have to decide on your own, but there certainly isn't a consensus among fans.
I hope my ramblings are kinda what you were looking for!!

Hey, really liked your analysis of Hinata. I feel almost the same way about her. Even though generally I dislike female characters who are naturally meek, subservient and pointless with no character arc in any type of media, what made me absolutely hate her character was how she treated Neji. If Kishi wanted to show her arc being developed organically, instead of proposing to Naruto that removes her stuttering and gives her new found confidence (because girls only get confident when proposing to guys 🙄), Kishi could have shown her talking to Neji after he literally told his bitter story on the chuunin exam grounds in front of everyone. She is shown like she is sympathetic but didn't do anything about it. She didn't even talk to him after he was hospitalized. She knew exactly why he was the way he was, and yet she fights him as if it was his fault. She, an heir of the clan, could have asked her father to support Neji, she had some clout. But nope. In fact, it was Neji who apologizes to her in a way, he is the one who trains her and help create a new jutsu for her. What did she ever do for him exactly? And Neji didn't have to help her. She was in the best position to help and understand Neji but what did she do? A lot of fans like her character because she is reserved but kind and sympathetic. She is reserved but a coward. She was not kind towards Neji. He died for her when he didn't deserve to, he had dreams and goals that were much bigger than Hinata's entire existence. She couldn't even see her own cousin's pain and she claims to understand Naruto?? Really??
Even Kishi said she was a pitiful character who only watches from a distance. He deliberately made her that way, no goal, no backbone and no lines. And I think she sucks the most after Danzo.
WoooW!!!! Thanks for the ask, Anon.
[[Hinata and Sakura fans!!!! Please stay away and don't interact. I fucking tagged them properly]].
Even though generally I dislike female characters who are naturally meek, subservient and pointless with no character arc in any type of media, what made me absolutely hate her character was how she treated Neji.
We definitely share the same thoughts on this one, Anon.
I am really tired on most of the media for their poor treatment of female characters.
The last time I was amused by a female character was from 'Game of Thrones', I loved Cersei Lannister, who is an absolute biashhh and Sansa Stark, started out as an annoying rose tinted princess but ended up winning everyone's heart. Both are non-combative, soft spoken and somewhat powerless women in a world dominated by men. But they just didn't let the inconveniences stop them and instead they learned how to fuck that world back and take control. Both are similar and yet very different.
After seeing, such well-developed characters..... For me girls in Naruto series, is blehhhhh..... Nothing to get inspired from them. And I knew it by episode 3 itself. I have no idea how can girls, in real life, treat Sakura as some feminist icon, which makes my skin crawl for number of reasons. If you point her mistakes out in any discussions, they will pull the misogynist card to your face. When in reality, I am also a girl and my world views are entirely different from Sakura or Hinata. There is no way a 12 year old girl would want to look at the Duck of another boy.
And the problem is, They form the majority, I mean people who can connect with Sakura or Hinata. So, as long as girls like them exists, we really should suffer from these crap portrayal I guess.
That's why I advise people that If you want to see a good woman character, Narutoverse is not the place.
Having said that, I find Temari, Konan, Tsunade were better (I mean inside the Narutoverse). Though their motivations or reason to achieve a goal revolve around their men, I find their attitude relieving. Unlike Sakura or Hinata, they don't wet themselves on the sight of the men they love.
What irritates me was, Kishimoto could've easily put a character like Temari or TenTen or Tsunade into Team 7. It would've made my viewing experience a lot better. If he doesn't want the strong girls to take over the attention from his boys, then he should've introduced a meek character like Rin Nohara. She is silent and cute but atleast she was willing to die for the Village and never wetted herself over Kakashi, though she loved him. And she treated Obito like her best friend. But he deliberately made Sakura hateful and he never stopped.
Sakura and Hinata were the lowest of the low, compared to any other side characters. And, in the end, they got the main Character's Ducks without actively doing anything. For me this tells me three things
He was using these girls as a shield to close the hetero normative mouths while in reality hiding those boys true feelings under that shield.
He really hated these kind of girls and constantly showing his hatred on them at every given chance and never redeemed them back.
He knew the target audience’ mindset and he simply caters them by giving them what they need and at the same time writing the important arcs according to his wish.
I think, it’s the combination of all three.
Just to give you an example.
There is this delusional SS shipper Who justifies Sasuke was acting Tsundere throughout the war arc. I mean, come on!!!!
I came across this post because, the Original Poster was an idiot who comes into the anti SS tag and reblogged my content and saying I was wrong... So, I don’t mind sharing that person’s content.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I don’t know where this delusion comes from... It's truly pathetic.
There are millions of idiots who believe in this kind of shit and Kishi is deliberately feeding them with bits and crumbs while making his boys go out and save the world.
These delusional mindset tells us they don’t give a single shit about the story as a whole. They watch it purely for the pretty faces and getting high over them. In this case, Sasuke.
It’s as clear as day that Sasuke didn’t care about anyone other than Naruto when fighting the war. You don’t have to be a shipper but even a non-shipper can point this out. I mean Sasuke wouldn’t have saved Jugo either, if he didn’t come to Sasuke and advice him. Do you think Sasuke would’ve tried to look for Jugo and saved him at all cost???? It’s just that he came to Sasuke and he helps him back. But Sasuke would’ve saved Naruto from the bomb blast even if he was standing a mile away.
So, if these delusions reflects the mindset of the majority of the women audience, then the creator will never try to give anything better but instead give us some low-life characters like Sakura and Hinata.
So, Anon, your expectation for Hinata’s character could’ve been developed much better is just a wishful thinking. Because, Hinata is a character for these kind of people and not for us. And the author deliberately did it.
Really??
For me, this also irked me a lot.
Hinata could’ve tried to talk to Neji about his problems even when he was a child. But she was simply playing innocent when in reality, she is just a coward. Even after the Chunin Exams, there was no apologies from her side, like you said. Because she is from the Main Branch. That hierarchy never changed. If she had the gall, she could’ve easily broken that hierarchy by saying, ‘I want Neji Nii-San to take over our Clan, He is the best candidate for this and I can gladly help him with all my efforts’.  A single line and just 2 or 3 panels, it all takes.
For me killing Neji is where Kishi asking us silently,
Do you really want these pair to happen despite having a blood stain of another character???
Most people said, ‘Yes!!!’, because they don’t give two shits about Neji. As long as Hinata gets Naruto, the main character’s Duck, that’s all there is to it. It doesn’t matter who dies, who lives.
That's why Kishi is shitting on them by making her as a non-existent woman in the Boruto Manga.
Even in real life, there are many hopeless foolish little girls who would do anything for the man she loves. I've seen them and I always stay 2 miles away from them. I mean, they even ditch their own friends and spends her entire time with him and when he dumps her later, she will come back to her friends for consolation. I think Sansa Stark is the best example for this. She started out much similar to Sakura and Hinata, believing in Princes and shit, she even naively betrayed her father for the man she had crush on. But the author made her to learn her lesson in a much painful way and later she came out as a Queen who no longer needed any man at the end. I think, this is called Development.
At the end of the day, Romance and Sex is all that matters. The author knew it. So, he is feeding these girls with some low quality cookies and they are very glad to take and eat it.

What's about Kurapika with a Darling who is a member of the Genei Ryodan, but she is a original member that torture and kill the Kurta clan
...No words...
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessiveness, obsessiveness, paranoia, kidnapping, harsh behavior, abusive behavior, controlling behavior, manipulation, sabotage, mind-breaking
s/o is from the Genei Ryodan
Tumblr media
⛓That is quite literally a very toxic relationship to have considering that you killed and tortured his own clan, people he loved more than anything else. It makes Kurapika feeling beyond conflicted and it twists his feelings in a not good way. He finds himself constantly torn apart between hate and love for his darling which affects his mentality and the way he is treating his darling greatly. There are times where he tries to treat her nicely and like a real lover, but there are also moments where he grows incredibly bitter and almost hateful, making him act much more colder and harsh with her.
⛓One thing to start with is that he would have to either have to meet her before knowing who she is and maybe also before she knew who he is, meaning it happened before the York New auction, or he would capture her somewhat afterwards and keep her for some reasons alive, to get on informations for example. In either case it has to be said if his darling would just be a cold and heartless killer, he would kill her without a doubt, he hates the Phantom Troupe too much for that. So he has to see something more to her, that she has a heart and is kind, perhaps even apologizes for what she has done to him and his clan. That is of course no good, it doesn't bring him his people back. But it might show him over time that she is not a complete monster.
⛓Kurapika is...extremely irritated when discovering his feelings and it will end up being a bit of hell for his darling as well. That is if he would meet her for the first time during the Yorknew City arc and try to get on informations from her. In Kurapika's eyes every single member of the Phantom Troupe is evil, all are criminals and even if his view on you should change over time, he still tells himself that you're a villain who happens to carry a bit more humanity inside of you. But that's all and you still killed too many. It is one of those very few times where Kurapika refuses to admit his feelings and it leads him to lashing out on you, not understanding his feelings. Why? You are the person he trained to kill and hate his whole life. So why do you make him weak?
⛓It happens slowly, but at one point he will somewhat stop and his feelings will become more visible and more obvious for him as well as maybe you. He stops hurting you, though you might have a pretty high pain tolerance, not being able to inflict damage on you anymore and he can't bring himself to use his Judgement chain on you either, knowing that you will break the conditions he made for you which ends with you dying in the end, loyal to your members and your leader. Because personally think that if he would have used it on his darling from the start, she would have rather died than tell him anything, especially after he killed Uvogin and Pakunoda.
⛓That's why I feel that the whole meeting her before knowing who she is, is more likely, though even there I see troubles. To start with Kurapika will tell his darling at one point who he is and what his plans are, alarming her already which might lead to her distancing herself from him due to feeling not worthy of being friends with someone who she killed the whole family from without him knowing. What else would someone feel in such a situation? It might confuse Kurapika, especially if he already liked her a bit and saw her as a friend.
⛓And after finding out that she is from the Genei Ryodan, Kurapika is a pure mess of emotions and the thought of just having been friends with a criminal this whole time messes badly with his mind. Still though, he just can't bring himself to hurt her, especially not if she hesitates as well when facing him, not wanting to hurt himself either. Of course she would sacrifice her own life for Chrollo and the troupe, but as I said, Kurapika won' fall for someone plainly motionless and cruel, especially if this person killed everyone in his clan. So there might be a chance that all of this has a hard toll on the darling as well which leads her to just realizing that she can't bring herself to kill him nor be a help hor the troupe either. It might bring her to the point of despair where she might just ask him to kill her, not being able to live like this any longer.
⛓It makes Kurapika stop in his tracks, seeing it on the one hand as a chance to kill another member of the troupe, to slaughter all of them. But as soon as he tries to strike down, he just freezes, body shaking and emotions stirring up to the extent inside of him where he feels like throwing up at any moment.
⛓Instead of killing you, he kidnaps you, knocking you out and taking you with him, keeping you chained up as often as possible and also making sure that you stay unconscious as often as possible so you don't put up too much of a fight. Kurapika just doesn't know what to do with you at this point, he can't kill you nor can he let you go. So instead he takes you with him, imprisoning you somewhere whilst deciding afterwards what will happen with you. And even in here the first few weeks or even months will be hell. He has his outbursts, lashing verbally as well as maybe even physically out on you when being triggered too much.
⛓Kurapika feels more than anything just extremely betrayed from you, a person he thought he could trust which is why he grows extremely paranoid and doesn't want to let you out of his side, terrified you will do something and try to attack him. This is the reason why he might actually really just search for a way to get rid of your nen abilities, though he also knows that this would make you utterly helpless if you are being attacked by someone. He debates over this topic days and nights and if you really end up trying to escape and attacking him with your abilities, he'll do it.
⛓He is just desperate to find an excuse to why you are the way you are, stealing and killing, without having to see you as a bad person anymore. He wants to believe in something which might push him to the point of becoming partly delusional due to not bearing this knowledge whilst being aware. He might come up with this certain mood swings where he manages to convince himself that his darling was being forced to do all of this and that she's just being manipulated from all the othe members of the Phantom Troupe.
⛓Which is why Kurapika totally ends up wanting to break his darling's mind the one or another way, though he sees it more as helping her. Kurapika feels convinced that he only wants the best for his darling and wants to help her leaving the terrible past behind her, starting a new and better life which he wants to assist her with. And he becomes extremely pushy with it as well, desperate to make her switch sides and believe what he believes. Kurapika becomes an incredibly controlling, strict and manipulative person, constantly pushing his darling's buttons and forcing her to endure all of this. And if he knows that she feels guilty about what she has done, he will mercilessly strike and tell her in detail how he felt after his clan died and what she did to them, letting her recall those moments again. Kurapika becomes cruel, not necessarily physically, but more mentally since he tortures his darling. And whilst he does feel guilty when he manages to constantly break her, he never completely loses the grudge and bitterness he holds against her. He just justifies his behavior with saying that this is the only way to help you out of all of this.
⛓And even if you do start to love him and bend to his will, Kurapika will never truly trust you, his paranoia constantly telling him that all of this might just be an act and you will escape as soon as he trusts you and leaves you free space which is exactly why he is so controlling to start with. Next to that he is beyond horrified what might happen if the Phantom Troupe comes after you and either lures you back or ends up killing you because Kurapika also used the chance to squeeze as much informantions out of you as he could about them. Of course he does grow softer over time, but it is just visible that he'll never be able to calm completely down or treat his darling completely normally. He doesn't treat her bad, but when he has his times where he gets haunted from the death of his clan, his darling is not the best person to turn to since seeing her triggers extremely bad memories which is the reason why Kurapika sometimes just has to distance himself from her, literally not being able to stand the sight of her. It is in all honesty a relationship akin to bittersweet and deathly poison if you get what I mean.

An analysis of SolKy
Hello! Thank you so much for clicking on this. A while ago, I was asked to do an essay explaining why people ship SolKy other than the whole rivals/opposites attract reason, and I got a lot of feedback stating it was useful for newcomers to the ship! As a result I’ve decided to post this on tumblr, but just on the ship’s tag as to not bother uninterested people.
A couple of disclaimers before I begin. This is firstly just my own opinion, so whilst it makes sense for me, other shippers may disagree with my points. I’m also not claiming they are canon because they are not. But I do hope it’ll give some insight into why some people like me enjoy them together.
Even once you’ve read this essay, you can still dislike SolKy. This isn’t an essay stating you have to ship them.
This will be extremely long as I basically cover every single interaction they’ve ever had with each other since I know some people sort of gloss over their dialogue, so grab yourself a drink, get comfy, and I hope you enjoy reading!
(Last edited: 09/05/2021. This will be updated again when Strive releases!)
How this all began
If we’re starting right at the beginning, it’s common knowledge that Ky and Sol weren’t exactly on great terms and often clashed most of the time due to their conflicting beliefs. Ky saw the world in terms of black and white, and had very strict rules on what constituted as right and wrong. Sol seemed to think differently and went against that, which was a stark contrast compared to the other Order members at the time.
Considering that they were in fact, in the middle of a war, you would think that generally people would be willing to put their differences aside and work together.
But Sol wasn’t like everyone else, going off and doing his own thing instead of actually listening to orders, so it’s understandable why Ky found him rather irritating.
However, Ky did grow curious of Sol. Obviously curiosity does not equate to love, but it is the basis of Ky wanting to become more friendly with and know more about Sol. There seemed to be something that Sol knew but Ky didn’t, but how was that possible..? As a result, despite how infuriating he could be, Ky sought to seek out the truth and so fought him for answers.
In regards to why exactly they fight (aside from the fact that this is a fighting game), Ishiwatari wrote something called ‘Hostility is Akin to Love’ right above a picture of them fighting:
Hostility is akin to love Thinking of your opponent’s actions to fight, Reading your opponent’s inner thoughts to fight, Planning attacks that will hit your opponent to fight, And then transmitting your thoughts with those attacks, The more you think of your own advantage, at the same time you think of your opponent, In the instant you mix with your opponent, a passionate feeling arises, and blood boils, Reality is hurt, and you wound your opponent, Hostility is akin to love. — Guilty Gear Isuka Mook
It states how fighting someone can be close to feelings of love because you have to think about what your opponent is doing, as well as how you’re going to respond to your opponent. Overtime, you start to memorise how your opponent thinks, and as a result you’ll know them on a deeper level.
So considering the above, this explains how even though they weren’t on friendly terms, they still formed a bond with one another.
Now we’ve established how exactly their relationship started, and why Ky was curious about Sol in the first place, let’s look at things from Sol’s perspective.
Sol’s attitude towards Ky
We know that Sol was also pretty annoyed by Ky, which was totally justifiable given the extreme way in which Ky thought the world worked. But Sol didn’t exactly dislike Ky.
In order to provide some evidence that Sol cares about Ky, let’s cover that infamous scene everyone likes to reference which shows Sol crying over Ky’s dead body:
Sol:     "I came to pick you up." Ky:      "Always coming late... you never could fix that..." Sol:     "You..." Ky:      "As to be expected... until the very end... I could never beat you..." Sol:     "Don't say anything!" Ky:      "I have... a request..." Sol:     "I said shut up!" Ky:      "After Commander Kliff... carry on... the Holy Order..." Sol:     "Stop it... that's your job!" Ky:      "Please... promise me..." Sol:     "Dammit..." Ky:      "If it's you... you can do..." Sol:     "Hey.... what's wrong. Hey! KYYYYYY!" — Guilty Gear XX Drama CD Side Red, Battle of Rome — Deathmatch
A lot of people bring this quote up when discussing SolKy and yes, it does show Sol cares about Ky considering how Sol never really cares about anyone in general, but the fact that Ky’s death managed to make him emotional shows what an impact Ky had on him. There are however more quotes that show Sol’s feelings.
There’s this scene in the GG Xtra manga, Ky and Sol get attacked by a mountain-sized gear. In order to save them, Sol rips off his limiter and Dragon Installs. This scene is very poignant when you take into consideration what Sol said in After Story A:
Sol:     "Back during the Crusades, before we met... Kliff told me this rumour about a prodigy swordsman." Sol:     "If you couldn't guess, that was you. I didn't give a shit at the time..." Sol:     "But then I saw you on the battlefield." Sol:     "I saw someone out there who surpassed all of my expectations. Or perhaps I should say 'something.'" Sol:     "No openings, no wasted movements, no carelessness, no hesitation, no embarrassment, not even any honor. No chivalry or mercy. A being unaffected by emotion." Sol:     "You were a killing machine. Taking down gears with brutal efficiency." Ky:      "...That was a long time ago." Sol:     "I'm not done talking. I've seen the face of the 'serious' Ky." Sol:     "Then one day, you challenged me." Sol:     "You wanna know what I thought right then?" Ky:      "..." Sol:     "I was afraid. Hell, I was scared shitless." Sol:     "'He figured out that I'm a Gear, and he's come to kill me.' That's what I thought." — Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, After Story A
Sol admits that he knows just how scary Ky can be. Since Ky was extremely against Gears, if Ky found out that Sol was a Gear, then Ky would have most likely attempted to kill him. But Sol knew this and was willing to die for Ky’s sake, and transformed anyway:
Ky:      "Sol..." Ky:      (Really... that's really..) Ky:      (That's really you!?) Ky:      "SOL!" Sol:     "Shut it..." Sol:     "I didn't do it..." Sol:     "To help you out—...." — Guilty Gear Xtra, Chapter 5: Unspeakable Thoughts
Going off on a bit of a tangent from Sol’s feelings, but I just want to point out Ky’s state of mind at this point. Ky in this time period was still very anti-Gear, as it was only through this moment and his encounters with Solaria and Dizzy later that made him change his way of thinking. It took a long time for Ky to accept Gears, and he still had the remains of that mindset in him when he had Sin, as he refused to make eye contact with him because Ky was ashamed of having a Gear child. So the fact that Ky knew Sol was a Gear, believed all Gears were evil, but still decided to accept Sol into his life and wanted to support him regardless of that, is interesting.
Back to Sol, another small quote that manages to show Sol’s feelings towards Ky is this:
Sol:     (Maybe I'll finish them off while I'm at it...) Sol:     (But that would mean breaking my promise to Ky...) — Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, Sol Badguy Path 2
Now, Sol doesn’t care about 99% of what other people do as long as they don’t get in his way. The fact that he intends to keep his promise with Ky suggests that he holds Ky in somewhat ‘high’ regards compared to others.
There’s also this quote that shows Sol is thinking about Ky in Overture:
The frustrations of the man wielding a giant sword were piling day by day, and a familiar face appeared in his head. What’s he up to right now? “Hmph, whatever…” With a feeling of self-contempt, Sol Badguy shook his head. What am I getting sentimental for? — Guilty Gear 2: Overture, #0 “Noise”
And when Sol encounters Raven later on after seeing Ky incapacitated, Raven points out how he can tell Sol is upset, meaning Sol’s not really doing a good job of pretending he’s still indifferent to Ky.
Raven: "You're as ruthless as ever, huh, monster?" Sol:      "Look who's talking." Raven: "Can you not put down your sword and talk? I understand you're upset with Ky Kiske defeated." Sol:      "I'll ask your corpse for answers." — Guilty Gear 2: Overture, #5 "Gaze of the Chronicle"
Sol’s thoughts about Ky become even clearer during his confrontation with Sin when he’s under the influence of Valentine, where Sol defends Ky’s actions and tries to make Sin understand Ky is not 100% at fault:
Sin:     "Can you see it? Can you feel it? This is my real power. This is my mother's strength." Sol:     "But it's light. It must be from your father." Sin:     "Shut up! Don't ever mention him!" Sin:     "He abandoned my mother and me using justice as an excuse!" Sin:     "Who cares about the King!? Who cares about the people!? That man, and that Kingdom, not one of them can protect a damn thing!" Sol:     "I don't give a damn about your family." Sol:     "But you know what, Ky may be a stubborn idiot, but at least he's true to his beliefs." Sol:     "A punk like you is still alive thanks to his justice." — Guilty Gear 2: Overture, #15 "Roaring Compass"
Okay, that’s the pre-Xrd era for Sol done, now to focus on Ky’s pre-Xrd’s emotions.
Ky’s attitude towards Sol
We’ve established earlier that Ky was annoyed by Sol and disliked him in the Crusades. However, afterwards it seems as if Ky saw himself as friends with Sol:
Ofc1:   "All of them seem to have been destroyed by... fire?" Ofc2:  "Yeah... why could that be?" Ky:      "........" Ky:      "Change our course!" Ky:      "Head towards the Eastern United States!" Ofc1:   "May I ask why, Chief Ky?" Ky:      "To meet an old friend." — Guilty Gear Xtra, Chapter 4: Former Friends
We know that Ky outwardly expressed his first signs of liking Sol when Sol stole the Fuuenken and Ky chased after him, only for Sol to win in their duel, and Ky says this:
Ky:      "Promise me one thing..." Sol:     "..What?" Ky:      "We'll meet again." Sol:     "Hmph... Well, if fate brings us together..." Ky:      "..That's fine." — Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, Sol Badguy Path 1
It’s pretty interesting that Ky wanted to see Sol again despite how Sol never used to listen to his orders, and how Sol never even tried to act like what the Order expected their men to act like (chivalrous, putting the people first, etc). It at least shows us that Ky saw possibly the potential of becoming friends with Sol. And Sol didn’t even say straight up ‘no’ or ‘in your dreams’ or whatever Badguy-esque notion he usually would’ve done, so we can assume he doesn’t mind seeing Ky again either.
Then they don’t speak to each other properly for 5 years until the tournament that Testament holds, though they have probably ran into each other a few times within those years.
A common misconception people have is that during those 5 years, Ky was obsessed with Sol and would constantly try to find him. Obviously, this is not true. Ky was busy with IPF stuff and Sol was hunting Gears down.
However, it’s not as if Ky completely forgot about Sol — he was just probably at the back of his mind, and Ky does admit that he has been chasing after Sol the most more than anyone else:
Ky:      (Waiting outside for me when I left the ship... burning red flames. Soon, they seem to take the shape of a man... and he appears before me. Yes... it's him. The one I've been after the most... it's him.) — Guilty Gear X Drama CD, Vol. 1: Track Seven — Crater
There’s also these two other quotes:
Ky:      (Sol...) Ky:      (Why are you so stubborn about doing things alone?) — Guilty Gear Xtra, Chapter 5: Unspeakable Thoughts
You can interpret this in two ways: either Ky wants to help Sol out and/or he’s curious as to why Sol always does stuff alone.
And then there’s this:
Ky:      "Maintaining peace, law, and order. That is my duty." Sol:     "Whatever..." Ky:      "You and I, we are cut from the same cloth." Ky:      "How long are you going to keep that facade?" Sol:     "..." Ky:      "Answer me Sol!" — Guilty Gear Judgment, Sol and Ky Ending
Being ‘cut from the same cloth’ is quite a strong statement. The phrase means that Ky thought he and Sol were similar somehow, and that he shared something with Sol. Regardless, the ‘how long are you going to keep that facade’ at least shows that Ky knows Sol is intentionally acting distant/rough/etc. and that its not actually who he is.
Jumping to pre-Overture, just before Ky gives Sin to Sol, Ky is in a really depressive state due to all of the stress he’s been going through. This leads Dizzy to contact Sol. The fact that Sol is called means that Dizzy knows that Sol is possibly the only person who can help Ky at that point, which puts some emphasis on just how much Sol means to Ky or at least affects him.
Before I move onto Xrd, there’s this part where Ky gives his son to Sol. This proves he trusts Sol so much considering he was asking him to take care of Sin for a long period of time.
Ky:      “Sol....I want to request something...” Sol:     “...hnn?” Ky:      “My son....Sin..can you take care of him for a while?” Sol:     “...what did you say?” Ky:      “I know it’s unreasonable but...I still want to ask...” — GG2: Overture Story, Sol's Story
The Xrd era (because it is so long, it needs its own section)
The Xrd era is extremely interesting to me, because Sol and Ky have some more in-depth conversations, and boy, do they have a lot of conversations.
Focusing on Sol first, theres a scene in REV where Sol asks Ky why he isn’t interested in his past:
Sol:     "Why don't you ask me already?" Ky:      "Ask you what?" Sol:     "About my past." Ky:      "I can ask you?" Sol:     "I guarantee, it won't be interesting." Sol:     "Every other word that came out of your mouth was 'Duel me,' or 'I challenge you!' You were so eager to fight and..." Ky:      "........" — Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, Story Mode: Chapter 03, Sense A
Given that Ky was constantly pestering Sol about his background in the past, it makes sense why Sol is suddenly a bit confused about Ky’s sudden change in behaviour. But it also shows that Sol wants Ky to know about his past. After ~170+ years of being alive, Sol wants to finally open up to someone again, and he specifically chose Ky for this. It shows in the very least Sol trusts Ky and knows him well enough to decide to let him know about who he used to be.
And then Ky says this, which is basically him just showing Sol how much he cares and understands him:
Ky:      "Sol. Of course I have an interest in your past." Ky:      "But wanting to understand someone and trying to understand everything is completely different." Ky:      "Right now, Sol Badguy's future matters much more to me, than Frederick's past." — Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, Story Mode: Chapter 03, Sense A
There’s also this scene in SIGN:
Ky:      "I don't know your history." Ky:      "I don't know if you had friends once, or if you fell in love, or why you burn with such hatred for That Man and the Gears..." Ky:      "I don't even know your real name." Sol:     "..." Ky:      "But I do know a great deal about a man named Sol Badguy." Ky:      "Blinded by vengeance, he lost sight of himself, and now he runs from the truth that frightens him." Sol:     "...Say that again." Ky:      "Tomorrow always comes, Sol." Sol:     "..!" Ky:      "If tomorrow promises to be cold and dark, I cannot stand idly by... even if I know my efforts will come to nothing." Sol:     "... The self-righteous apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Ky:      "I don't expect the world to change tomorrow, but I do hope that, today, perhaps my words will reach you." Ky:      "Sol..." Ky:      "I'll be waiting for you. We'll all be waiting for you. Sin, Dizzy..." Ky:      "Once all this is over... come home." — Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Story Mode: Chapter 04, Kaleidoscope B
Three things to take away from this:
Ky admits that he doesn’t know anything about Sol’s background, but that he knows a lot about the current Sol, and then goes on to explain how Sol acts. Which to expand on, means that although Ky used to care about Sol’s past, he doesn’t really mind about it anymore because Sol’s past won’t really change much who Sol is to Ky now. Also, the part where Ky explains how Sol was ‘blinded by vengeance,’etc. shows that Ky knows Sol’s current personality well enough in order to be able to distinguish his behaviours. Which is interesting because nobody has been around Sol long enough to be able to know him really well unlike Ky (Aria and Asuka count too, but they were around Sol when he was Frederick, and Sol seems pretty adamant on the idea that he’s a separate person from Frederick.)
‘Come home’ is pretty significant, as it implies that it’s almost like Ky is saying home is with Sin, Dizzy and the Valentines, and so when Sol is done getting revenge on That Man, instead of letting Sol just wander off alone, Ky wants Sol to be a family with them.
The fact that says Ky says ‘I’ll be waiting for you’ separate from ‘we’ll all be waiting for you’ implies that either Ky’s want to wait for Sol is somehow different from everyone else’s or it’s just for the sake of being dramatic. I interpreted this in both ways, as it seems like Ky knows that Sol treats him differently compared to others. So in a sense, by Ky emphasising that he’ll be waiting for Sol, it might make Sol more likely to ‘come home’.
There’s also a scene that shows Ky knows Sol’s personality well:
Ky:      "When I look at you, Sol, I see a man who is afraid." Sol:     "... What?" Ky:      "It became clear when I watched you caring for Sin." Ky:      "You work very hard to keep everyone at arm's length." Sol:     "..." Sol:     "I got Gear blood in my veins, and it ain't friendly. It's always there in the back of my head, whispering that I oughta just destroy all of this." Sol:     "The only way I'm gonna get some closure is tracking down That Man and beating some answers out of him." Sol:     "And if he doesn't have 'em..." Sol:     "Then maybe there really isn't a good way to live." Ky:      "That's why you close your heart off." — Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Story Mode: Chapter 08, Hope A
There’s also this:
Ky:      "Not all people have the strength to stand on their own." Sol:     "..." Ky:      "If only life were simple, and the right path was laid out before each of us..." Ky:      "But even then some would leave it, and some would struggle with walking it. Such is human nature..." Ky:      "The truth is that no path will ever be 'right' for all people. Each of us must find the one we are meant to walk--and sometimes that is where none exists." Ky:      "That is what I learned from you." — Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Story Mode: Chapter 08, Hope A
This just shows that Ky actually learnt something from Sol. Which I think is important because Ky is someone who always used to be very strict to his ideals. The fact that he learnt something from Sol that had an impact on his mindset means that Sol actually managed to have a great impact on Ky.
There’s this scene where Sol finds out that Aria isn’t dead when he confronts That Man, and he has somewhat of a mini mental breakdown. So Ky excuses them from the room, and goes outside to talk with Sol:
Ky:      "Sol. The grudge you hold is certainly not something that can be taken lightly. And, whatever answer you think you've found, I doubt any of us will be able to stop you from seeing it through..." Ky:      "But we have very little time left. Right now, we need the Gear Maker's help." Ky:      "So, I'm begging you... Just for now. Why don't you stay outside with me." — Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, Story Mode: Chapter 06, Cause A
The last line that Ky says is interesting because it’s obvious that he’s just trying to calm Sol down, and Ky thinks that if he stays with Sol outside for a bit, he’ll be able to help him calm down. Furthermore, Ky thought it was more necessary to pause everything and help Sol out rather than keep listening to the plans of what their next course of action would be.
Ky does have the habit of comforting Sol. One of the more significant moments is whenever Sol refers to himself as a monster:
Ky:      "Yes, he took away some of what makes you human, but that doesn't mean he altered your mind or your soul." Sol:     "So what?" Ky:      "I want to believe that you'll fight for the people of this world." Sol:     "Are we seriously having this conversation?" Sol:     "Look, kid. I'm a monster. I'm here to do two things: Destroy That Man, and kill all the other Gears." — Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Story Mode: Chapter 04, Kaleidoscope B
To expand a little on Sol’s mindset, it’s common knowledge that Gears were generally in the past regarded as akin to monsters. Now we don’t have any solid proof Sol is referring to himself as a monster because he’s a Gear, or because he feels guilt about the whole Gear Project, etc. But we do know it’s something he’s affected by given that he constantly refers to himself as one.
So the fact that Ky constantly reassures him that he’s not one, and that Ky didn’t treat him differently after finding out he was a Gear, must be comforting to know.
Then at the end of REV, there’s the scene where Daryl is about to shoot Sol, because he (quite rightly) doesn’t trust the fate of the world to be left to Sol. And so, the kids get beamed up, but Ky asks to be left behind:
Ky:      "But, if you plan on targeting Sol, then you must leave me behind, as well." Daryl: "What!?" Zappa:"60 seconds until impact..!" Sol:     "What the hell are you doing?! Stay with Sin!" Ky:      "I am well aware that this is a one in a million chance..." Ky:      "But, if I survive at the expense of my dear friend, then there is little reason left for my ruling this world as king." — Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-, Story Mode: Final Chapter, Fireworks
This was a really odd moment because Ky’s life was never in danger at that moment. If he had been sent on board Daryl’s ship as originally planned, he would have been safe. But Ky intentionally chose to risk his life, and its kind of startling because Ky has always put his people above everything. There were times when he put the people above his own family, like when he kept his family a secret instead of coming out with the truth about them in order to remain as King to protect his people.
So Ky suddenly going ‘I would rather die with Sol than take care of my people’ is really extreme. Also Ky was willing to leave his family behind, which is even more extreme. So this just really proves how highly Ky regards Sol considering how he would rather die with him than live without him.
Some concluding notes
I think Sol and Ky’s personalities do work really well. Perhaps not in the Crusade era, but if we take a look at the Xrd era, they have shown to get along and have deep conversations with one another that they both enjoy. They know each other extremely well; they know how to support one another when life gets a bit too much and they’re also capable of telling one another when the other is wrong.
Sol teaches Ky that life isn’t as simple as it seems, and that (figuratively speaking) he shouldn’t stick exactly to the textbook. He’s able to see under that perfect image Ky puts up about him being able to cope with everything, acting as a source of stability when you consider how Sol has been the only person who’s been around Ky since the very beginning.
Throughout all of Ky’s life, he’s been under so much pressure. From being Commander in the Crusades, to becoming the Head of the International Police Force, to becoming King. In every situation, people are constantly relying on him, and his environment is changing rapidly. But despite everything, Sol has always remained the same. He looks the same, acts the same, etc. Ky can rely on Sol and trust Sol. He’s like a source of stability for Ky in those hectic times.
And Ky provides something similar to Sol too, given how often he ran into Sol time and time again. When you’ve been alive for so long, it’d feel reassuring in the very least to see a familiar face. And Sol does seem to get less annoyed each time they meet each other again, considering like how in Overture he voluntarily went to go see Ky after seeing himself on a wanted poster.
Ky also gives Sol the chance to open up to people again and form connections with them, something that Sol has been reluctant to do. Sol needs someone to care about him, and Ky proves that by constantly reassuring him and never giving up on trying to help Sol, even though he kept getting pushed away.
They may not be canon but I really do love how they work together. Yes it’s true some people may like them because they are ‘rivals’and seeing rivals get together and bicker is great, but actually I think when people focus more on how much they support and rely on each other, as well as the fact that they do get along, them being in a relationship is more convincing.
Whilst this essay focused on their canon interactions, there’s plenty of other great material out there. For instance, the Guilty Gear 4KomaKINGS manga provides plenty of great SolKy interactions (like the time Ky wanted to have a friendship diary with Sol, only to get rejected and start crying about it. Of course, take these interactions with a pinch of skepticism considering the frivolity of the source material.)
And that, was my very long SolKy essay. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading! Though you may not have agreed with everything I have said, you still continued reading, and I am grateful for that. Thank you for showing such enthusiasm and loving this franchise.

okay now that we’re in the middle of a hiatus and the fandom is mostly calmed down
I’m one of the very few people who’s actually hoping for a Lila redemption arc? I don’t want her to be friends with Adrien or Marinette or anyone she’s really really hurt, but she is still like 14 and we don’t know her full story and I honestly want to see her grow and be a person and make some actual friends and get some hobbies. Again, I think she’s burned the bridge with a few characters, but that doesn’t mean she can’t ever be friends with anyone else
and anyway, my ideal takedown/ redemption arc for Lila is one where she unknowingly lies about having several disabilities that other students in the class actually do have
BUT I don’t want it in a “oh actually, Lila, you dumb fool, I have real medically diagnosed tinnitus, so I know that’s not how it works, haha everyone look at Lila the stupid liar” kind of way
I want them to be like stupid levels of understanding and try to bond with her
(detailed explanation of my Lila arc under the cut, obviously don’t read if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of Lila being redeemed)
Lila is like “oh... actually... I can’t participate in the PE final... I have scoliosis... that I just found out about right now” and Juleka is like “oh! I have scoliosis too!” and Lila is panicking because she’s about to be called a fraud, but instead Juleka just happily sits with her for the entire PE final and rambles about stuff and is super happy to have a bench buddy
Alix mentions that she has tinnitus and Lila is like “wait what? why aren’t you in front of the class?” and Alix is like “oh, for me it’s kind of a waves thing? on good days, I can hear her from anywhere in the classroom, and on bad days, nothing can really help me hear? so Ms. Bustier just gives me lecture notes that I can read and it works for me.” And Lila is completely expecting to be called a fraud but Alix is just like “it’s super cool that it does help you, though! everyone’s different! If you ever want to compare notes about what helps, you can text me!”
Lila starts to say the beginning of a well practiced and overly researched speech about how she can’t go on a field trip because she has a super rare medical condition and Max just pulls her aside and is like “hey, I know it can be scary and you feel like you have to justify yourself, but you really don’t have to give super personal information all the time. It’s totally fine if you are comfortable, but really, I know from personal experience that Ms Bustier and this class are super understanding. You can just say ‘personal reasons’ or something and we’ll all leave you alone. You’re allowed to have privacy.” and Lila is like “huh”
this is getting long but basically, eventually she talks to someone in the class with ADHD or anxiety, I’m going to say Alya for now, so she literally catches Lila lying about knowing some celebrity, and instead of being angry or judgemental she’e super discreet about it, she pulls her aside like “hey, I know it feels hard to make friends, but I promise you, people do think you’re interesting as you are, and we care more about you than the people you know.” and she doesn’t even call Lila out for lying? she’s literally just like “u dont have to know celebrities”
and then Lila actually finds out that there’s at least one actual compulsive liar in the class. And, if you didn’t know, Lila’s not an actual compulsive liar, and I’m not going to get into a rant about that now but... She lies on purpose, and tells planned lies with an agenda, whereas compulsive liars don’t usually plan to lie or have a reason for lying. So anyway, Lila gets actually caught lying, and someone, lets just say Nino for the sake of picking a character, is like “hey i know its hard but you do still have to apologize, even if you did your best, you still messed up and you’ve got to own up to it. I believe you that you’re trying to be better but you can’t just use mental illness as an excuse.” and Lila pulls out the fake tears and is like “you don’t understand-” and Nino is (not in a rude way, just trying to be kind) like “I can’t understand you exactly, no, but I literally did have a problem with compulsive lying and I have a therapist, so if you want to talk about it I probably understand more than you know” and Lila is like “oh.”
and anyway, Lila’s arc doesn’t come through someone she’s harassed trying to defend her, and it doesn’t come from her being traumatized into being nice, it just comes from her classmates treating her like a human person, and doing their best to understand her while also actually finding ways to make things accessible to her so she stops being able to get out of things. And then it turns to “hey Lila, just so you know, you don’t HAVE to give explanations for not wanting to go places, you can just SAY if you’re uncomfortable.” and she starts getting called out on it a little bit more, but in a friendly way. Her classmates are just like “Lila please just tell us what you want, I don’t need your medical history, I’m not going to do a background check, just, say you want to borrow a jacket and I’ll let you borrow it. I literally have an extra hoodie”
But simultaneously, everyone with a disability “in common” with her starts latching on to her and opening up, and they actually hold her accountable for listening to their needs. And Lila, who already has the mindset of “oh u are legally required to help Disabled Person or everyone will hate you,” which is literally the basis of half of her plans, is now surrounded by classmates who are asking for her help with reading things because they’re dyslexic, or asking her to grab a textbook from across the room, and asking her if she has any heating pads, and, well, Mylene actually bought her some heating pads when she was faking having cramps earlier, so she might as well lend those out so that she can get more credit with her classmates
And it’s not because she *cares* obviously, she’s just doing it to get them to rely on her, and to get on their good side
and then she’s invited to join the disabled students activism club, and it would look suspicious if she didn’t join, so she agrees, and then whoops, she is now working to do actual charity work-- because it’s really nice to have such solid evidence for her claims, and some charity work that she can actually point to solid evidence for if she ever gets called out-- and honestly it is pretty stupid that its so hard to get accommodations on tests for students with anxiety, because aren’t those the students who are the most afraid to talk to the teachers-- not that Lila cares. And it’s super dumb that no one even knows proper etiquette for helping people in wheelchairs,, and people keep Leaving Things in the Hallways that make it too narrow, and-- Lila doesn’t care at all though, and she definitely doesn’t care about her “friends” in the club because they’re not her friends, and she totally does not cry when she finds out that most of them are literally self-diagnosed, and then it turns out that Mylene was actually wrong, and she probably doesn’t have Lyme disease like she thought, and no one judges her or treats her any different? they’re all just like “oh thats great! glad you could keep getting new information!”
and Lila realizes that literally no one will be mad if it turns out she doesn’t have any disabilities. Except also, she’s starting to become more and more sure that she Does have several things wrong with her, because apparently it’s Not Normal to feel constantly on guard when she’s around other people, and apparently it’s Not Normal to just have days where you literally cannot drag yourself out of bed in the morning and then get hit with terror that if you tell anyone about how numb you feel they’ll immediately think you’re unworthy as a human being, and she’s like, oh, huh, i should  look into that
and anyway Lila doesn’t even try to be a good person at first she just wakes up one day and is like “what the heck when did i get actual friends and passions and hobbies,, i did not sign up for this” but she does start making an effort to be worthy of them and she ends up growing a whole ton once she’s given a support system
and anyway i know lots of people are uncomfy with Lila and that’s fine, but i’m continuously a sucker for “evil devil child is actually a pretty decent human being once their basic needs are met and they feel safe” trope

The one where Y/n is very different from Harry's exes
Based Off Of This Ask
And This One
A/N: I’m sorry the title sucks. Hope I proofread it enough 😂🤞🏾. But I had to do it, I had to write about it! It’s very filthy…enjoy🙃
When people asked Harry how you compared to his exes, all he could say was that there was and is absolutely zero comparison. You were so different from his exes that he still couldn’t believe that you were real. You two have only been together for 6 months and you were already blowing him out of the water. Both figuratively and literally. It was like you had two personalities, and he couldn’t get enough of or keep up with either.
The “first personality” so to speak was the one that everyone else saw and the one he met first. It was the sweet, fun loving personality that he’d without a doubt take home to meet his mother. And if he had to be completely honest, he was already there when it came to you guys’ relationship. Ever since you guys’ very first interaction, Harry was completely hooked on you. Simply listening to your voice and watching you smile was all he wanted or even cared about. Your level of sweet and just being utterly amazing as if you were a literal angel was above and beyond in comparison to all of his previous relationships.
Harry could also say the same for your “second personality”. Except for the fact that he could not and would not compare this one to an angel by any means. He’d say that this one was a complete shocker to him, and that he was very surprised by it to say the least. Never in a million years would Harry have ever thought that he’d date a girl who was kinkier or “freakier” than him. Harry thought he was down for anything but you took that mindset to another level. And he found this truth out very early in the relationship. After you guys broke the “sex barrier”, it was like game on for you. Harry couldn’t fully explain it, but what he could say was that you were definitely a beast. And he loved it. What he loved the most about your sexual beast, would be the spontaneity.
There have been many times where you’d sneak your hands into your lap and over onto his. He’d try to latch onto your wrist to stop you, but there was no use. All you had to do was lean over and whisper a simple “don’t fight me baby” and his once tight grip on you would instantly disappear, allowing you to have a little fun with him. It was like your words put a spell over him, causing him to let you have your way with him. And you wouldn’t simply palm him over his pants, if you were going to do anything remotely sexual at the dinner table you were going to go all the way. You’d undo them, pull his cock out, and tug at his ever hardening cock underneath the table, all while still engaging in whatever conversation you were apart of. You were keeping your composure very well even though your thighs were getting stickier and stickier by the second, while Harry was sweating buckets and dying right beside you. Then to make things better, you’d decide to  just stop all together out of the blue. Sometimes you’d tell him to join you in the bathroom, other times you’d just make him wait. This was just one scenario though.
Another scenario would be you randomly sending him some very nsfw photos. He’d be in the middle of a very important meeting just to revive a message from you. When he would go to open the message, he’d find a very explicit photo of you in a very explicit position. All to which he’d immediately close his phone, take a deep breath, and check around to make sure that no one was looking. Then he’d proceed to dim his screen and look at these pictures you’d sent him. To make matters worse, you’d ask him the most innocent question to justify you sending the photos. One time you sent him an ass pic with a message asking him if he saw a mole, knowing good and well that a mole would be the last thing Harry’d be paying attention to. He’d be so caught up in them that he’d have to be snapped out of the trance you put him in. And then when he went to go stand up, he’d quickly realize that he had a massive hard-on that only you would be able to fix.
Your spontaneity was also accounted for when it came to you wanting to have sex. You didn’t know why, but you felt extremely comfortable around Harry. Even when there wasn’t anything sexual going on between you two, Harry made you feel extremely comfortable to just be yourself. It was like this for the both of you. The same way Harry made you feel at ease and comfortable to just be yourself, you made Harry feel the exact same way. This confidence and being comfortable around each other translated very well into the bedroom, or wherever you two decided to go at it. Especially for you. You became very comfortable when it came to you telling Harry that you not only wanted some action, but also what you wanted and how you wanted it. You gave him every last detail. From hard or soft, to fast or slow, you told him all of it. Sometimes you even told him what position you wanted him to take you in. It wasn’t just because of you being comfortable around him, it was also because you couldn’t get enough of Harry. He quickly became an expert when it came to your body and pleasuring you. He knows exactly how to tap into the things that set you off and just make your head spin. You loved the way he took control in many situations and did whatever he wanted to you. You liked having a level of control over him, but you were starting to think that you liked him having control over you. It also didn’t help that Harry was more than okay with taking you anytime anywhere either of you wanted.
If Harry had to bring into evidence a final scenario of a time where you’ve shown him the side of you that was a complete sexual beast, he’d bring up the random blowies you’d give him. If he had to describe them in two words, random and sloppy. It didn’t matter if you two were in public or in private, you were going to find a way to get on your knees in front of him. And when you did eventually get on your knees, you gave him the best, and sloppiest blowjob he’s ever received. The way you were practically slobbering all over his cock, and taking him down your throat the way you were was beyond belief to Harry. Normally he wouldn’t cum fast, but if the situation involved your mouth being wrapped around him, Harry’d be cumming in an instant. He couldn’t help it, you were just really good. And you knew it. You knew the power you had over Harry in these situations and you absolutely loved it. You were working his cock so good that he could barely hold himself up.
Luckily for Harry, he wasn’t standing up this time.
Harry had invited you to spend a long weekend over at his place to not only spend some quality time together, but also to celebrate you guys’ 6 month anniversary. Neither of you were one of those people who celebrated every little milestone, but this was something that the both of you really wanted to celebrate. The both of you could feel that the relationship you guys had was something that the both of you loved and never wanted to end. This weekend was not only the milestone halfway mark for you and Harry’s first year together, it was also the weekend that you two said your first I love you’s. To clarify, it was the first time you two said your non-sex induced I love you’s. It was a very romantic, love and sex filled weekend and last thing either of you wanted was for it to end.
Unfortunately for you both, the weekend was winding down and you two were in your last night together before you and Harry had to get back to real life. After you two made and ate dinner together, you both agreed to go back up to the bedroom. At first you two agreed on just cuddling and watching the rom com Harry chose. But after a while you started to want a little more. You already had a hand on his thigh so  you decide to move it slightly against him, every time getting higher and higher up. You could see out of the corner of your eye Harry looking over at you, silently asking what you were doing. Instead of turning to him and giving a response, you keep your eyes trained on the tv and you keep moving your hand against him.
As your hand got higher and higher, you could hear Harry’s breaths get quicker and you just kept on going. Eventually your hand made it’s way under his shirt and to the waistband of his shorts. Once you felt like he’d been teased enough, you decide to tell him what you wanted, just like you always did.
“I wanna suck you off.” You tell him abruptly. Instead of answering you, Harry takes a deep breath and removes your hand from him.
“Of course y’do.” Harry sighs amusedly, wiping his hands across his face.
“Can I?” You ask him with a questioning tone.
Before responding, Harry hooks his fingers around the waistband of his shorts, shoving them down his legs, kicking them off at his ankles.
“Now why would I say no to having your pretty lips wrapped round m’cock?” Harry says, tugging your hand towards his very hard cock which was standing up very proudly in his lap.
“M’so glad you just stopped wearing underwear all together around me.” You hum happily, moving yourself so that you were between his spread legs.
Once you’re laying against the bed between his legs, you waste no time putting your mouth on him. You push the large and swollen head of him between your lips, suckling him in your mouth. You then push your head further down, taking more of him into your mouth. You take so much of him or as much as you could possibly take into your mouth before you feel him pushing against the back of your throat.
“Fuck!” Harry growls, dropping his head back against the pillows. You hold him there for a few more seconds before coming back up for air. When you take your mouth off of him you start to quickly tug on his now completely soaked cock. You loved hearing the wet sound of you jerking his cock mixing with his labored moans. You wanted to make those moans even louder, so you take your mouth down a little lower, sucking one of his sizable balls into your mouth. When you do this, you hear Harry let out a sound that you’d never heard leave his mouth. It wasn’t a scream, but it wasn’t a moan. It was more of a satisfied yelp. You weren’t going to deny the fact that that you loved hearing that. In fact, you wanted to keep on hearing it. So to keep it going, you take your mouth off of him and you do the exact same thing you just did to his other ball.
When you hear him let out another yelp, you couldn’t help but hum happily around him. You also feel Harry’s hand fall into your hair, keeping a grip on you. By doing this, he was telling you that he very much enjoyed what you were doing. When you remove his other ball from your mouth, you lick a wide stripe down from his balls to his ass. When you do this, Harry’s hips immediately push up from the bed. His feet become planted on the bed, and his grip on your hair becomes tighter.
“Fuck Y/n!” Harry yells out. You were the first person besides himself to ever venture out to the area below his cock. He’d always been a little hesitant to tell his previous partners that he didn’t mind them venturing out a bit lower. So having your mouth down there, was absolutely amazing for him. You made him embrace the pleasure of it all, and embrace the different types of pleasure he wanted to receive. The fact that you were willing to try new things and just go for it made it all even better for him.
Before putting your mouth back on his cock, you lap your tongue around the very sensitive area. You  then move your mouth back to his cock, bobbing your head up and down on him. You could hear that his moans were beginning to become needier, telling you that he was about to cum. So to push him right over the edge, you begin to push one go your fingers down towards his puckered hole. When you get down there, Harry pretty much screams out your name. That doesn’t stop you though, it makes you keep on going. You slowly push your finger into him. As you do this, Harry completely lets go. His hand tightens in your hair, his hips push right up from the bed, sending his cock right into your throat, and causing you to gag hard around him. You could even feel him clenching tightly around your finger.
“Y/N!” Harry groans loudly, cumming right down your throat. As he lets go, you slowly pull your finger out of him and his hips go completely limp against the bed. His hand that was in your hair goes completely limp, allowing you to pull your mouth off of him. When you pull yourself up, you try your hardest to catch your breath. Even though you weren’t directly receiving the pleasure, your head was spinning just as if you were.
You sponge a soft kiss to his hips before crawling back up to the top of the bed with him.
“Will y’marry me?” Harry asks, completely in a post earth shattering orgasm daze.
“If you ask me again in 6 months, I’ll say yes.” You hum in his ear.
“Deal.” Harry sighs happily.
Neither of you were sure on whether or not the other was serious or joking about the whole marriage thing, but you both could agree on the fact that you two were a match made in heaven for many reasons and that neither of you were going anywhere for a very long time.

ok so we all know that gray rushes/is eager about his relationships, but this time, what if the reader asks him to slow down or something? like she’s just getting started with her degree and she wants to slow down a bit, not rush into things, and eth agrees and gray is finally happy? also sorry if u aren’t taking concepts or requests lol
i feel like...low key....he needs this irl lol
Tumblr media
this man doesn’t even have the phrase slow down in his vocabulary so when you say those words, the look of confusion that crossed over his face was to be expected. you knew you would have to spell it out for him, at least slightly. he gets in over his head with every relationship and wonders why they somehow fall apart so soon. some girls fall into that spell: the attractive guy wants me so it must be something real and true and they fall before they ever really form a strong bond, sliding to third base a time or two and tricking themselves into thinking it’s deeper than surface level lust.
but you, you are not the ‘kick it into high gear’ type of gal and you thought you made that pretty obvious from the start. grayson gets attached easily, we all know that. you take your days one at a time, scope out the pros and cons of every situation. and you know, yeah it might be a trauma response from the countless times people have fucked you over and made you out to be a fool from a very young age, but that same mindset has helped you dodge many bullets over the years.
his first initial infatuation—it’s no different with you, but you are how do you say—hyper aware of his intentions and motives. you’ve been screwed over, toyed with, used your fair share of times and the world be damned to hell if some buff fluffy brown haired boy with amber eyes and a smile that oozes light and happiness comes in treating you like you’re this...lost treasure and you just believe him. believe all of the pretty words, take his hand and follow him into the dark, blindly let yourself love someone again not be sure of what they expect out of the relationship. and damn you if you let him swoop in and carry you off like a princess from a tall tower. like he’s this knight in shining armor. you won’t be fooled by the cloud of attraction and get yourself in too deep before you’re completely on the same page with one another. and first things first; you aren’t someone that needs to be saved, and neither is he.
you understand the puppy love stage of relationships. it’s bound to happen: the subtle obsession with your partner, that new light fuzzy feeling you get thinking about them, thinking of what they might be doing when they’re not with you, if they are thinking about you too, listening to all the sappy love songs and suddenly all you can think about is the color of their eyes after they’ve laughed real hard, the dip in their brow when they are thinking for a long time, the electric feeling that zaps your skin when they touch you, the way their voice lowers two octaves when they lean over and whisper something sweet in your ear, it’s all there for grayson. you know you’re falling in deep, and maybe that’s what scares you. maybe it’s the way you are so willing to trust him early on that leads you to the conversation of slowing things down. for the protection of the both of you, it’s not one sided.
not only had grayson made you feel secure in the very beginning of the sudden relation you had started, but he kept consistent with his actions and words. something that was unusual and strange after dealing with men that never really grew up beyond 16. at the stage of your life you’re in, there isn’t any room for a childish game of tag with a boy who didn’t have any intentions of sticking around in the first place.
you worked hard for everything you had, you always have. your upbringing wasn’t one of sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns. you didn’t have it easy. it wasn’t something that you used to weazle your way out of situations, excuse your occasional bad behavior, but it was something you thought about when you did catch glimpse of your growing attraction to someone. especially grayson, who was...one of the nicest men you had ever met. charming really didn’t even cut it. but just starting on your degree...complicated things. made you really want to reiterate to him that your degree, it was important to you and you fought tooth and nail to be able to even touch a college textbook. you couldn’t be blinded by his charms and be distracted from your dreams. there were times where the world seemed dark and hopeless and with hard work and perseverance you climbed out of that hole, just to stand as the strong intelligent woman he was falling head over heels for. you didn’t get that way over night. and you sure as well weren’t going to screw up your studies because you found someone that maybe wanted to stay, maybe didn’t. if the two of you were to work out and keep developing that beautiful bond - you hoped it would be as a team, one with understanding and clarity.
in your past experience, once a man knows he’s got you hooked, that’s the green light to treat you how they’ve wanted to the entire time. their once soft caress turns possessive, trust turns to assumption and blame, dates grow less and less frequent, and are left to sit and wonder what you ever saw in the first place. tricked, manipulated, and heartbroken. it’s never been honesty, love, and acceptance first. it’s “i love you” and “i care” when their actions don’t support their claims. you promised that the next boy you catches your heartstrings and strums until you’ve fallen under their spell, you would know exactly what you’re falling for. that means taking it slow, knowing what makes grayson tick, what he hates, what he adores, what brings him peace and comfort, if he cries during chick flicks, what kind of person he wants to be remembered as, if he fears the unknown as much as you do, was makes him completely and totally happy, and what infuriates him the fastest of all, what hardships has he had to face alone, what haunts his mind in the dead of night where no one can hear him crying, and what thought makes him smile when he’s doing nothing in particular. for once, just this once, you’re heart longed to know more that what meets the eye. you wanted to know if your feelings were 3 demensional, encompassing the good and bad about grayson, or if you truly just loved the way he fucked you.
but most importantly, you wanted him to know you. know the things about you that most people didn’t have the pleasure of knowing, all while making your dreams come true.
you thought maybe it was a mistake reaching out to ethan in your time of dire need of a shoulder to lean on, but it ended up being just the conversation and pat on the back you needed. the right nudge from the right person to have you sitting down with the softest soul you’ve come to find. grayson wasn’t someone you wanted to hurt, and ethan reassuring you that by talking to him and making him slow down, it would save him from more heartache than anything.
“i think it’s going to mellow him out, actually,” ethan nods along with your words, picking at a stray strand on his pants.
he wants what’s best for his twin, which is the exact reason you wanted to have this conversation with him. you didn’t want to mess something up and be rash and childish before anything real really even started, “grayson doesn’t really do ‘slow’, so this will be good for him.”
“i just don’t want to hurt him you know? i don’t want to be another girl that leaves so suddenly when he gets a bit too much. i know those are special circumstances and he was desperate with the desire of finding that special connection...” a pause to catch your breath, nervous from the vulnerability you’re showing already, “but when i make a commitment, i keep it. i want him to know that. i just want him to be secure within his decision to want...whatever this is with me. i want to be able to know him enough that my feelings for him are justified. and vice versa...i don’t want him to think that because i want to slow down, means i want to stop.”
“he will understand more than you think. if there is one thing i know about him, it’s that he will bend over backwards to make something he wants work. if he really wants you like i know he does, he will slow it down and make sure that you are comfortable. sounds like he doesn’t have much choice.” and it’s nice hearing those words from someone you haven’t gotten the chance to grow all that close with yet. hell you’re not even that close with grayson yet. you’re in the beginning stages still, learning your way around life with him in it. independence has always been one of the things that made you, well, you - and Grayson must understand you need more time before moving forward.
“really?” your heavy sigh shows your nerves are shot from worrying about not just school, but about the many different outcomes of the talk you need to have with Grayson. it has to happen, but you’ve never been one for confrontation even if it’s ensuring a positive outcome for both parties.
another shrug with a kind smile from ethan warms your heart, “just talk to him. he’ll appreciate your honesty. most of the other girls got wigged out and dipped, it’s going to mean so much more that you are wanting to stick it out even if it’s going too fast for you right now.”
growing up in a family full of huggers really shows when you step forward to wrap your arms around his waist for a split second, appreciative that he listened to understand and actually help you.
“thank you e, i hope he doesn’t just think i’m trying to make excuses and leave.”
when you pull away he is smiling still, pleasantly surprised by your friendly hug. with a light squeeze to your shoulder and a soft sort of smirk playing on his lips, he gives you just the advice you needed.
“something i’ve learned being his twin; give him a little more credit.”
when  you have that conversation that had you so nervous your stomach tossed and turned all day long, you make sure you’re chanting ethans words over in your head. breathe. it’ll be fine. he will understand. give him a little more credit. he really wants you. the words play like a song through your head as you wait for him to sit back down on the white floral sheet in the softest patch of grass in your backyard. water spills from the glass in his hand as he plops onto the ground in a heap of giggles, muttering “fuck” softly, trying (and failing of course) to wipe the water off of his light blue button up shirt. it’s a good color on him, and you’re momentarily distracted from how attractive he looks in the late afternoon sun.
when you first met grayson, he had stumbled upon you sitting all by yourself in a small park, book in hand, peach in the other, completely unsuspecting that you would catch his heart captive when you glanced up with a smile that just about made him pass out. you were still surprised months later that he had had the nerve to say a word to you, he looked ill with anxiety to even utter a word. it was a day you’d never forget - and you would try and remember that innocent look in his eye when you explain why you had planned this picnic in the first place. to talk, to listen, to understand.
you figure if you really want to have the conversation be as smooth as it can be for the both of you, you could take it back to the very start. a simple picnic, with a lot of hope for the future.
after the laughter fit falls down, it’s time to get to the root of the issue. you prepare yourself with a deep breath in, holding in for a few seconds with your eyes closed, then slowly releasing when you look back at the questioning raise of his eyebrows. when he cocks his head to the side, you know it’s now or never. if you don't say it now, you might regret it.
“I actually brought you here so that we could have a talk real quick,” you finally explain, making sure to maintain eye contact and drink in ever facial expression he may have - just so you know how to go forward.
“you know you can talk to me about anything, is something wrong?” He’s so soft with the way he talks, never suspecting anything like what he’s about to hear, and it almost hurts to know you’ll be disappointing him in some way.
“nothing is really wrong...i just think maybe...we should slow it down for a bit.”
“what do you mean? we just got here,” he chuckles, taking a sip of his water with a shake of his head. not understanding, his fingers fiddle with the fringe at the bottom of your sundress.
you continue without stopping, ignoring his joke and hopefully make him see you aren’t here to fool around, at least not entirely. it was a serious talk for once and you wanted him to respect what you had to say.
“-not go so fast we miss the exciting part of getting to know one another,” you carry on to a now confused, sorrowful looking grayson, finally understanding that you weren’t talking so much about the picnic - but the two of you as a whole.
“i still want this—still want you i mean. but i just...want us to be us for a bit and not worry so much about the next step and then the one after that and the one after that and-”
he holds his hand up to stop you, cutting you off while looking at the ground deep in thought. setting the water down slowly, he climbs back up to his feet. you watch him patiently while he treads through the clipped grass, knowing he’s trying hard not to overreact and over think. After what feels like eternity, he sits down with his hands hanging off his knees, picking at a blade of grass he’s ripped from the earth beneath him.
“have i pushed you?”
sweet boy, always trying to take blame.
with a small smile you shake your head, “you haven’t pushed me at all gray. I just want this to grow - want us to grow. i don’t want you getting in too deep before you’re sure you’re ready for all of the things i’m looking for in the future and likewise.”
another nod of understanding, he was listening close. his respect for you grow tenfold, you had the courage to not let your lust or even affection cloud your judgement and you were honest with him. something that grayson admired most from anyone he let into his life was honesty.
“i’m not very good with slow but i’m sure you’re probably right,” he laughs more at himself than anything, “i just get carried away. especially with a woman like you. how couldn’t i?”
always the flirt. and a good one at that. he always knew exactly what to say to get you blushing, which is exactly why you hide your face bashfully in your shoulder for a few moments before you could look back at him admiring you.
“I hope you know that this is different though, Y/n. I can’t exactly explain how, but you should know i’ve never felt this way for anyone no matter how many times i’ve tried to convince myself otherwise in the past out of...fear, shame, even guilt. it’s different. and because of that difference, i know i can’t be selfish with you.”
for once you’re grateful for your mothers voice at the back of your head nudging you to let your heart be open, because without that voice, you would never be sitting in the grass with a man that truly does want to respect your boundaries and looks at you like you’re made of exquisite glass. you wouldn’t have memorized the soft texture of his lips as you lean in to kiss him, or the feeling of his hand cupping your cheek. you wouldn’t know the sound of his relived sigh, or the giggle that breaks the kiss only a few seconds later. and you wouldn’t have the clarity that you so desperately craved.
if there is one thing you knew for sure it’s that he is telling the truth. his truth shows with the delicate placement of his hands, the soft caress of his thumb on your cheek, his fingers running through your hair, and all the other ways he shows his adoration for you every day that you wish to hold on to forever. you know that the waiting and slow pace will be worth it in the end and the slow burn will turn into the blazing fire that you can already tell shines in his eyes. your hesitation has nothing to do with him but a past you would explain in due time.
for now, you’d continue kissing him on the sheet that smelt faintly of laundry detergent, in the backyard of your quaint apartment on 26th and Broadway, with his hand in your hair, lips pressed gently against yours, and a whole heart full of hope for a long future of days just like this.

"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader please
Soooo.... It’s been a long time hasn’t it? Sorry guys, I just haven’t been motivated to write anything until now. But hopefully this is good, despite being a little out of practice!
"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader
You rolled around in your bed with no avail of finding any comfort, your eyes not even closed, simply open and wandering around in the darkness. There you laid, thinking back to the battle you had all just returned from; Gronder field. The morale of the troops was currently at an all-time low, after fighting former classmates and losing Rodrigue. People who you formed bonds with over the course of your academy year, people you studied with, shared meals with, made jokes with, they were all on the opposing sides of this war. Cutting them down wasn’t easy. It never is. But that’s the reality of war isn’t it? You don’t get to choose who lives and who dies, it was either you kill or be killed.
As the antagonizing thoughts roamed through your head, you sat up and haphazardly threw some decent clothes on. It was clear that sleep wasn’t going to find you tonight; though, you didn’t doubt that other members of the army were going through the same ordeal as you, some perhaps, having an even more difficult time. They were classmates too, after all. You opened the door, shutting it quietly behind you just in case anyone who was sleeping wasn’t woken up. You looked up at the sky, the clouds were heavy and grey; it was likely going to rain soon. You were originally planning to walk around the monastery, but getting poured on by the sky didn’t appeal to you currently. So you decided to head to the dining hall. Perhaps you’d find someone else there to talk with, and if not you had the option of being comforted by some snacks and drinks.
With your destination in mind, you started making your way there, stopping by the greenhouse as Dedue emerged from the doors.
“Doing gardening this late at night, Dedue? We just got back from battle, you should be resting.” You spoke up, starting a conversation with him as you made your way to him. He nodded in response, acknowledging you before responding with his own words,
“Yes. It seemed like no one else was going to check on the greenhouse so I took it upon myself to ensure that everything is growing well. What brings you here?” He questioned, brushing off you added note of him needing rest.
“I couldn’t sleep. Though, I suppose after a battle like that, it’s not so surprising to hear that, is it? I was planning to go to the dining hall. It looks like it’s going to rain soon, so I was hoping to either keep myself company with someone or with some food, or just…. Something to distract me from my own thoughts right now.” You explained, as you spoke, you wrapped your arms around yourself as an attempt to comfort yourself by holding yourself close. You really did not want to be alone right now, but you also didn’t want to bother anyone else, since you knew everyone was just as burdened as yourself.
“I’ll accompany you to the dining hall.” Dedue spoke, seemingly being able to read your mind; or perhaps it was your body language that conveyed how you felt. Regardless, you were thankful for the offer.
“Are you sure you want to? I would hate to be the one keeping you awake when you’re so busy all the time.” You asked him to ensure that this was something he was doing willingly; not because he felt obligated to do it.
“I do not mind. I may not be the best company, but it’s better than being alone. Let us make our way there, the rain will come down soon.” He looked up at the sky, and you did as well. He was right, the clouds were only getting thicker, and a downpour would start at any moment. You gave the man a small smile, thanking him for his company as the two of you walked together to the dining hall. He opened the door, gesturing for you to enter, and you did so, him following after you. Looking around, the dining hall had a few like-minded people, all spread about, some chatting quietly with others, and some consuming a beverage.
You and Dedue made your way to a table, isolated from everyone else. He sat across from you, as you gently tapped the table with your fingers, drumming them mindlessly. Talking with Dedue wasn’t exactly the easiest task in the world; you liked being around him, and usually it was fun to help him in the greenhouse as you two quietly worked together to care for the flowers, but the man was rather taciturn. Not that it was a bad thing, of course. It made time spent with him peaceful and simple. It was nice being with someone you didn’t feel forced to come up with new topics every time you were with them. You found comfort in merely having him around you, with or without any words. You felt safe around him.
“Should we get something to drink, maybe? Having something to drink might help calm my thoughts down a little. Not to mention, I’m a little thirsty.” You spoke up, breaking the silence between the two of you. He nodded in response, getting up from his spot to get the two of you something to drink.
“How about something warm? It’ll help you sleep.” He asked, making sure you were on board with his suggestion.
“Oh, that would be really helpful, I bet. Tea would probably be good. Your favorite is ginger tea, if I recall correctly. Why don’t we have that?” You suggest, getting up to help him with the task. He stopped you before you could leave the table completely, gesturing for you to sit down again.
“Just wait here, I’ll get it. Try to get comfortable, first.” He suggested as he left momentarily to brew the tea for the two of you. Taking his advice, you plopped yourself down at the table once more. You took a few deep breaths to try and relax yourself. You were still worked up from all that tossing and turning in your bed, and he could tell.
He came back with a tray carrying a teapot and two cups of ginger tea. He carefully set a cup in front of you, and one in front of himself as he set the teapot in the middle. Giving you a gentle warning to be careful, as the tea was hot. Nodding, you blew on the tea a bit before taking a small sip. The strong taste of ginger took over your mouth, but it wasn’t unpleasant. You could taste a hint of lemon and honey in the tea, making the tea a little sweeter and lighter on the tongue.
“It’s wonderful, thank you, Dedue. It seems like anything you do in the kitchen comes out perfectly, whether it’s food or drinks.” You smiled warmly at him as you praised the man for his skills. It may have just been tea this time, but you, as well as everyone else, knew what this man was capable of in the kitchen. He was easily the best chef you’ve ever met.
“You do not need to praise me so highly for tea.” He responded to your praise, brushing it off and rejecting it; he tended to do that, you’ve noticed. You weren’t sure if that was genuinely his mindset, or if people speaking badly about him just because he was a man of Duscur made him reject any form of compliments. The latter of the two saddened you. You hated seeing people judge him just because of where he was from. Those people never bothered to get to know him for who he truly was; A loyal, caring and well-intentioned man who would help anyone in need without hesitation, so long as the person in question did not intend to harm his highness.
“I’d disagree with that. After all, you made the tea so well. Ginger tea isn’t the easiest tea to make, it’s so easy to make the ginger too strong by adding too much or brewing it for too long, or adding too much lemon and making it sour, as well as too much honey to make it far too sweet. You put in the proper proportions of everything, so the ginger flavour is there, but not overwhelmingly so. It feels very soothing, compared to some other cups I’ve had. So I do believe that you’ve earned the praise for it.” You explained to him, a smile gracing your lips once more. You were going to make sure he knew that it was praise well-earned.
His face shifted into something more shocked, he was taken aback. He hadn’t expected you to take your praise further, even going as far as justifying it. His face soon cleared up of all shock, and instead he gave you one of those rare, gentle smiles. You knew it was genuine too, because Dedue doesn’t often smile; even going so far as to tell you that he doesn’t know how.
“I see, if that is how you feel about it, then I’ll accept the praise. I’m glad you like it, I added everything as I thought you’d like it. I figured you’d prefer a lighter flavour profile as compared to a strong one. In addition to that, this should help you sleep better than if it were stronger.” He took a sip of his tea after giving you an explanation for how he decided on the proportions. You nodded in approval, agreeing with what he was saying; it was true, the tea did make you feel more calm.
“The tea helped, certainly. But I think having good company also plays a part in how I feel right now.” One of his eyebrows shot up in curiosity,
“You think I’m good company?” He asked, wanting clarification on what you had just said. A small giggle escaped your lips,
“Of course I do, Dedue. You’re not the most talkative person, of course, but there’s a lot about you that is enjoyable. Being around you makes me feel safe and calm. And I’m not just referring to the battle field, though fighting at your side does make me feel those things as well; But I also feel like there’s a whole lot less pressure around you, because you’ve never judged me for anything. Not for the things I like, the mistakes I make, or anything at all. I feel comfortable around you, and I enjoy spending time with you. I would dare say that gardening with you is one of the few things I look forward to these days.” You voiced out your opinions about him so openly, appreciating his presence. All of it was true, perhaps more true than you thought before. If you really thought about it, then you would realize that Dedue gives you a sense of comfort that no one else you knew could. The time you spent with him was always cherished, and something you looked forward to doing more of. You would have to discuss that with him in the future, you supposed. For now, you would be content with spending time with him like this.
“No one has ever said those things to me before. I… appreciate it. I find spending time with you to be enjoyable as well. I’m glad that you enjoy it as well.” His response was a little timid, as he was feeling bashful. Hearing you say those things about him made him feel good, his heart felt warm.
The two of you stayed there for a while longer, discussing topics ranging to the flowers in the greenhouse to the cooking mishaps the two of you had witnessed. The occasional laugh from you would flow during the conversation, and your earlier thoughts were completely perished by this point. However, with that came a newfound sense of tiredness; you didn’t want to leave since you were enjoying yourself so much, but you needed to sleep if you didn’t want to slack off tomorrow.
“Thanks for keeping me company tonight, Dedue. The two of us are always so busy, so there’s never really a chance for the two of us to spend time like this. I hope that the two of us can spend more time together like this, I really enjoyed myself.” You thanked him for being with you and being able to comfort you at the time when you felt you needed it most.
“I agree, I look forward to spending more time with you like this, when our schedules allow us to do so.” He led you back to your dorm as you opened the door and entered your room, you beamed up at him and nodded eagerly.
“Yes, of course. Well, I’ll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight, Dedue. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart once again.”
“Goodnight, (y/n). Should you ever need me to do this again, don’t feel afraid to come find me. I enjoyed our time together.” With the two of you bidding each other farewell, he left to go to his own dorm room and you closed the door to your room. With a new sense of comfort, you changed back to your pajamas before laying in bed once more, this time, a smile gracing your lips as sleep managed to find you. You would have to have a certain conversation with him about your feelings, but that was a worry for another time.

Ten Duel Commandments CH8
Your last chance to negotiate
Monday, May 11, 2020
Farkle looks at his phone one last time before throwing it away. He was incredible annoyed by the reaction everyone was having to Lucas and Maya. He wasn't able to process why people wanted them as an item so bad when on the other side of the coin was her best 'friend' feeling like crap because of all the mess Lucas put them on, and nobody but him gives a crap about that.
Farkle takes a deep breath, sits on his bed, and looks at the floor. No, this wasn't Lucas's fault, he thought to himself. Even when he didn't want to admit it, Zay has been right from the beginning. It wasn't Lucas's fault. He was not in the wrong for falling in love with Maya. Hell, if he was honest with himself, he also falls for the blonde beauty when they were kids, but as soon as Riley enters his line of vision, he knew that there was no coming back from him.
That thought makes him realize one of the truths of the world, not everything revolves around the people you love and the fact that he made a circle around what he considers the truth and fairness makes him lose the argument because as soon as he did that, he denies every other point of view. Even if he thought he was right, deep inside, he knew he wasn't.
Now everything was fucked up, really fucked up. Riley took the first step, making her own grown phase away from everyone, maybe even forgetting Maya and Lucas for being deceptive with her.
Maya and Lucas were thriving on their relationship, a happy couple, enjoying the free world now that everything was in the open and with no one to judge them. And by the looks on their Instagram accounts, nor Shawn or Mary were remotely mad about them hiding everything from everyone.
Isadora probably had the grown spurt that most hurt him. Yes, he understands that he never was the perfect boyfriend, but not even a few months to mourn him? He has been feeling like a complete piece of shit for two months, and she was moving at alarming speed from him, and honestly, making him worry about her new friendship with Billy Ross.
Farkle gets up from his bed and walks to his bathroom. He looks at himself in the mirror, and it terrifies him that he couldn't recognize himself.
For some reason, he finally was able to see the effects of all this mess on him, the dark circles under his eyes, the clear signs of dehydration, how opaque his hair was now.
He even lost some weight that doesn't help his already thin physique.
He looks at his reflection one more time, and this time the questions were others.
What happened to the gentle genius that always did all in his reach to protect his friends? At what moment he turned into this bitter young man who lied to himself, thinking that he was doing all of these things only to see her best friend happy?
His face was there, on the mirror, but his essence was gone.
"You might need help this time Farkle," he says to his reflection on the mirror.
But before that, a shower, that he clearly needs it.
And a round of well-deserved apologies.
.
"I'm gonna say I'm surprised, but I'm not," Isadora says before sitting in front of Farkle, taking a good detail on his looks, his faces, his eyes, and his expression, evident signs of depression, but that was something that she would keep to herself unless asked for.
"I'm surprised you wanted to see me. After all, we didn't part ways in the best terms," Farkle replies.
"Farkle, please," Isadora says, sitting in front of him, "You know I loved you, even now, I love you, not as a romantic partner, but as a person, for what you give and the experiences you share with me" she adds.
"So, not even as a friend?" Farkle asks.
"Farkle, we broke up less than three months ago," Isadora answers, "You need some time to heal, I need some time to heal, it's a process, not because we have a higher IQ means we are gonna be back to normal, to being friends," she explains.
Farkle looks down, "I know, I know, it's just, my brain hasn't been working like it used to do," he justifies himself.
"I know," Isadora replies, "You still have troubles handling emotions, not like I used to had, but your moral compass is making it really hard for you," she explains.
"Should I guess that you know why I ask you to meet me?" Farkle asks.
"I know why you ask me to meet you, and the answer is no," Isadora replies before turning to the waitress, "Please, one Iced Coffee to go," she says to the waitress.
"Can I ask why?" Farkle asks.
"Because Iced Coffee it's delicious?" Isadora asks back, avoiding his question.
"So it's like this now?" Farkle asks this time.
"Farkle, why I, someone who has nothing to do with your problem, do something to help?" she asks, "I get it, we used to be friends, we used to be partners, and we used to be boyfriend and girlfriend," she adds, "But let's not forget that we broke up because it was too obvious to me that you never stopped loving Riley, and that to you, Riley's happiness is the most important thing in the world," she continues, "But you're in this mess because you refused to listen to anything that is not involved with Riley's happiness, and you need to learn how to take responsibility about your own decisions," Isadora adds.
"I took you for granted for so damn long," Farkle says, defeated.
"You did, but I also thought that I would be able to beat Riley in your mind and in your heart, and I failed miserably," she argues back, "The secret of life, Farkle," Isadora says, getting her Iced Coffee before giving Farkle a five-dollar bill, "You will never conquer a heart that already has been conquered," she says, getting up, only to put a soft kiss on Farkle's cheek.

Lucas was nervous.
For the first time in seven months, Farkle was the one reaching to him to talk, and he knew exactly about what he wanted to talk about. He wasn't sure he wanted to talk about his relationship with Maya. After all, he was the first one to oppose to him having an interest in any other girl besides Riley, and even when he wanted his friend back, for no reason he could give, he would change anything he's been experiencing today.
"I honestly didn't believe you would want to meet with me after 7 months of radio silence," Farkle says from Lucas back.
"That's because you did the radio silence. I never wanted to stop talking to you," Lucas replies.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I think I'm ready to hear your side if you don't mind," Farkle says, walking around the bench and sitting next to the Texan.
"Are you sure about that?" Lucas asks, "Because if I tell you my side, you might not like it," he adds.
"How can you know that?" Farkle asks.
"Because Riley has always been your priority," Lucas answers with a short laugh, "And that clearly gives you a biased mindset," he adds.
Farkle laughs, "So, everything comes to me being able to handle the truth?" he asks, "What if I promise to not be biased?" he asks.
Lucas chuckles again, "If you can promise that, then I don't have a leg to stand about denying you my side," he says.
Farkle looks at Lucas for a few seconds and chuckles, "You know I can't have my opinion biased. After all, everyone seems to think I'm in love with Riley, and how a man in love can't have his opinion biased?" he teased him, "But for the benefit of this conversation, I will try my best," he adds.
"Good enough for me," Lucas replies, "So, I should start with the beginning, and that was, probably, when I sneak into Riley's room, looking for Maya to inform everyone of my decision," he says.
"You can skip to the meat of the story. This relationship between you and Maya made clear to me that you picked her that day, and Riley just urn into your pitty case," Farkle says in a snarky tone.
"Can we do the Q&A at the end?" Lucas asks, "Also, lose the tone, not necessary, and not wanted at all," he states before taking a deep breath, "For me, it all started around two and half years ago, almost a year from Riley and me breaking up," he says.
Farkle covers his ears, "God, you were right, I don't want to hear this," he says, fastly getting up from the bench.
Lucas chuckles and gets up with him and gently sits him back, "If you want the truth, I'm gonna tell you, but if you go now, you will never know my side, and maybe we might not rekindle," he threats Farkle.
"You're threatening me?" Farkle asks.
"I'm giving you a spoiler, Farkle," Lucas replies, making sure his friend understands how serious he was.
"Fine, fine, let's do it your way," Farkle agrees, desperately rubbing his hands on his thighs.
"Calm down, I'm gonna tell you a love story, not a Stephen King story," Lucas says, trying to calm Farkle, "As I was saying, Riley was on her discovery period, and if I was honest, me too," he says, remembering those days, "And I discover that my feelings for Riley had been gone for months before us breaking up because as soon as she started going out with other guys, I honestly didn't care," he adds.
"Wow, and I thought I was an awful boyfriend," Farkle comments.
"Big difference, I never lied to any of my partners, Farkle, never lied," Lucas defends himself, "So, Riley started going out with guys, you started going out with Isadora more often, and well, Zay and I start going out a lot. Like full 'the boys are back in town' style, and, I'm sorry if this stings, but you two kinda abandon Maya," he states.
"We would never abandon Maya," Farkle tries to justify himself.
"No, you did, and I'm not blaming you for something. It's just that you didn't have enough time for Maya, and that where Zay and I get into the scene. You two were M.I.A., so she started going out with us a lot," he explains, "And once Vanessa came here to New York for winter break, that gave me the opportunity because I didn't see anything wrong with that, I mean, you were with Isadora, Riley was with what's-his-face, Zay was with Vanessa, and Maya wasn't with Josh anymore," he explains.
"So this is a 'La ocasión hace al ladrón' situation?" Farkle asks, feeling a bit annoyed by the story.
"First of all, I'm not a thief. Second, maybe," Lucas replies, "Anyways, we start to spend a lot of time together, going out as friends, because let's remember that before anything, we are friends," Lucas states, "And honestly, all that time I spend with Maya, made my feelings resurface into a more clear me," he continues, "and one day, I just simply kiss her. And against all odds, she kissed me back," he says, remembering that night.
"That can't be all the story," Farkle says in a sordid tone, doubting his friend's words.
"What you want me to say, Farkle?" Lucas asks his friend, a bit tired of him.
"Come on, you're telling that she got you only with a kiss?" Farkle asks back, implying something far from PG-13.
"Careful with your words, Farkle," Lucas warns him.
"Come on, you're seventeen, Maya's sixteen, and you're telling me she only kissed you? Tell me the truth, did she spread her legs for you, pretty boy?" Farkle questions him with the same tone he had before.
In complete shock, Lucas gets up from the bench, and in a flash, he slaps Farkle as hard as he was able, "I warned you, Farkle," he says, glaring at him, doing his best to keep his Texas-self buried.
"Why I'm not surprised that your underdeveloped brain's first resource is violence?" Farkle says, keep pushing Lucas buttons.
"That the card you want to play?" Lucas asks him, not believing what he was hearing.
"What you gonna do? Slap me again?" Farkle says, looking at Lucas with anger in his eyes.
"Your funeral," Lucas says, getting closer to him, making Farkle cover his face, "Why I'm not surprised that you are already defeated?" Lucas asks, "I might be a thief, or a liar, or whatever you want to call me, but at least I have balls," he says, grabbing his own bulge, "Never show your face in front of me again, Farkle, unless you want to apologize," he adds before walking away from him.
Once Lucas was not visible to him, Farkle spends a few minutes trying to control his emotions, only to fail and start crying, "You stupid imbecile, why you had to talk," he says to himself, hiding his face in his knees.
.
Lucas was getting closer to the Starbucks Isadora ask him to be, only to see her and Zay running towards him, "Hey, hey, calm down, I'm just a little late," Lucas jokes before watching them look at him, worried, "Ok, I'm getting worried, what's going on?" he asks.
"What happened with Farkle?" Zay asks him.
"What?" Lucas says, faking ignorance.
"Don't play dumb, something happened, we know," Isadora intervenes.
"Nothing happened, we talk, he didn't understand my point of view, that's all," Lucas lies to them.
"And?" Zay asks.
"And I left, that's all," Lucas lie again.
"Please, don't insult our intelligence. What happened? The truth now," Isadora asks.
Knowing that they would not stop pestering him until he confesses, he agreed to do it, "Fine, I slapped him, but he deserves it," he justifies himself.
"God, what he say?" Zay asks.
"Please, we came here to have a chat because Isadora asks us, can we please leave it?" Lucas begs them to drop the subject.
"I kissed Sarah, and I'm probably bisexual, but I can be on other specters too, done, tell us what you did, the whole story," Isadora says, surprising both boys.
"You what?" Zay asks Isadora this time.
"I think she said that she kissed Sarah," Lucas says to Zay.
"I'm not done with you, so don't push it," Zay replies to Lucas, "Are you for real?" he then asks Isadora.
Isadora, knowing that Zay wouldn't let her continue her interrogatory to Lucas until she tells him the whole story, sits on the steps of the house where they intercept Lucas, "I mean, it was for science," she says.
"Please tell me you didn't tell her that," Lucas says before Zay.
"What? No, of course, I didn't say that to her," Isadora defends herself.
"So?" Zay asks.
"It was nice," Isadora says, blushing a tiny bit, "But, if I'm honest, it's not like I'm not attracted to men. I mean, Lucas still looks incredibly appealing to me," Isadora answers.
"Bullshit, Lucas is hot to everyone," Zay jokes.
"Dude," Lucas says, judging his best friend.
"He's not wrong. Didn't Alex mention how most of your teammates ship you with Brandon?" Isadora asks Lucas.
Lucas just stays silent.
"Don't answer that," Zay says to Lucas, "It's been more than proved that if Lucas was gay, I would be his baby daddy," Zay answers in a severe tone, "And don't you dare to Chandler me," Zay warns Lucas.
"Dude, you keep giving me material to do it," Lucas replies, "Also, not the point of this conversation," Lucas says before looking at Isadora, "So, how you feel about that?" he asks her.
Isadora shows a tiny smile, "Honestly, I feel kinda happy?" she says in doubt, "I mean, the more I know about me, the better," she adds.
Lucas looks at Zay, "True," he says.
Both Lucas and Isadora look at Zay, who was a bit troubled, "Are you ok?" Isadora asks.
Lucas just chuckles, "Just let him be. He's on his universe giving you and Sarah a ship name, nobody asks," he says.
"Ship names are important, Lukey," Zay replies, "So, what are you gonna do about it?" he asks.
"Honestly?" Isadora says in doubt, "No idea," she adds, "For the first time in years, I don't know what to do," she continues.
"Don't worry, it's ok," Lucas says, sitting next to Isadora, putting his hand on her shoulder.
"Whatever happens, you know you have us," Zay comments with a warm smile.
"Thank you," Isadora says, feeling happy.
"We are your friends. We have your back," Lucas says.
"Celebratory donuts?" Zay asks Isadora.
"That would be good," she replies.
"Let's go. We're buying," Lucas says, walking away from them.
"We still want to know the whole Farkle thing," Isadora says.
"Dammit," Lucas curses.

ironwoods tragic fall from grace
comments on youtube
When a hero becomes the villain, all hell breaks loose. Especially when the fallen hero is general of the Atlesian army.
The only thing that I noticed was that Ironwood has constantly grown a Beard as time passes. He's slowly decending towards from Hero to Villain as a "Fallen Hero" Catagory. James Ironwood WAS a good man, utterly dedicated to protecting his people. It was with the best of intentions that he charged down the path he’s taken... but you know what they say about good intentions.
I didn’t think his semblance was much of a factor into his decisions before Vol 7 but now as he’s become more unhinged every chapter, it’s becoming even more strikingly obvious that he’s become a slave to it. The fact that his semblance increases his resolve to go through with bargaining with Watts, willing to blow up Mantle just to save Atlas.
He's like the antithesis of Leonardo Lionheart
You know, this is a really good counter for all those people saying Ironwood is suffering character assassination. He's not. He's giving in to fear and letting his worst aspects take command.
I’m personally asking again why would the writers talk about something like Ironwood’s semblance outside the show when for the most part the majority of people only watches the show, that’s like how the Russo brothers (the writers and directors of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame) choose to answer the hows and why on Twitter when the majority of people are only watching the movies I personally love those movies but it also would’ve been nice to see those things get explained or talked about in the movies just like how it would be nice to at least mention Ironwood’s semblance in the show
Honestly, I love what they're doing with Ironwood. His slow, inexorable descent into extremism is a wonderful exploration of how an idealistic person who believes themself to be the hero can tumble into villainy without trusting others to keep them grounded. It's the very real problem of the philosophy of "The ends justify these particular means;" if you can justify one morally gray decision to achieve a good goal, it gets easier to justify the next, darker gray decision. Without someone outside to call you on your bullshit, you're eventually justifying genocide because it will be for the "greater good."
Ironwood is literally the Darth Vader of RWBY. He starts of as a respectable character, commanding his own army for the good of all. But he gives in to all of his fears, looses a limb or 2, and slowly turns misguidedly evil, willing to kill ANYONE who stands in his way.
I've said before that Team Rwby is a foil to the Headmasters. Ruby keeping secrets like Oz, Leo/Blake, the faunus who ran away when things got hard, and Ironwood's parallel is Yang.
Not just obvious stuff, like both having metal arms. But both of their semblances are double edged sword. Yang get stronger taking damage, but if she leans on it too much, an enemy that takes one hit just destroys her since she can't fight back. Volume 4 has her training with Taiyang to correct this flaw in her thinking, leading to her overcoming Adam in her rematch in V6.
Ironwood's semblance can be incredibly powerful. Just off the top of my head, he basically no sells the Apathy, which is an incredibly dangerous Grimm in a group with other, stronger Grimm. But it has downsides, and we're seeing it. The correct way to use it is after you've made a choice, to focus on the task at hand. But making large choices while under the semblance is not smart. He's too focused on one action to see others that have opened. Atlas has to be raised, because that's what he's already decided to do. The idea that they've made contact with the world and reinforcements might be coming never entered his mind. Similarly, he's so focused on forcing Penny to heel that he's not seeing he has a chance to have her come willingly by aiding in Mantle's rescue.
He's so focused on winning this one battle (Having Penny raise the city to escape Salem immediately) that's he's making choices to doom the larger war (defending the kingdom's people, defeating Salem, reuniting the world).
He clearly knows that it isn't smart to rely on it this way, since he's shown the ability to take criticism and adjust his thinking in Volume 7 (Nora would've been Slate'd if he couldn't). But the combination of Yang/Blake going behind his back to tell Robyn, Ruby/Oscar not telling him the truth, Qrow seemingly killing Clover, and, right when he thought that he'd saved everyone, the idea that every single thing he's done might've been exactly what Salem wanted has fairly understandably shaken his faith in the others around him. He can't rely on them to rein him in, he has to do that... which is exactly the problem with his semblance. If the only person who can stop you is yourself, and you're convinced you're always right, you've doomed yourself.
I'm assuming that he could probably be talked down by Glynda or potentially Oz or Qrow (fat chance of that one) if they can break his aura, but as it stands, unless someone beats him down, he's not going to be able to stop himself.
With Ironwood I am reminded of a very profound quote from CS Lewis, that I feel summarizes him very well: "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be “cured” against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals."Show less
Dude Ironwood didn't have a problem with trusting people and didn't have a mentality of not being able to trust people. He trusted to much and trusted people who both betrayed his trust (Yang/Blake) and didn't reciprocate the trust he gave them (Ruby and the rest of the main cast). Honestly, he would have been perfectly right to have immediately put the relic of knowledge into the vault at the start of v7 and then send the students on their way and have nothing more to do with them.
Ironwood saw Atlas and his fleet as a way to inspire hope. It's ironic that his plan was one of lifting them up so high that nobody would ever be able to see them anymore.
My only criticism with Ironwood is that I really really wish his semblance was brought up in the show. Are they ever going to bring it up? I absolutely LOVE how he has been written and watching his tragic descent into becoming a villain but having his semblance mentioned in show would be great. Is someone going to have to break his aura or something before he or someone else mentions it?
In a way he is. His semblance is a double edge sword, as someone in Ironwood's position is all about making calls. Ironwood was able to climb through the ranks because his semblance allowed him to follow through with his actions to save people (I also still wonder what happend to halve of his body as he already had a metal leg and arm in volume 2, we can asume the paladin project, but some confirmation would be wonderfull). Now he's following through on his words agains Salem, that Ironwood isn't going to let Salem take the relic of creation. Ironwood essentially only has this thought he is focused on and is disregarding everything else. Right now Salem is piecing herself together again and Penny is going to the vault, if Ironwood semblance of Mettle wasn't interfering he would be able to see the bigger picture of let Penny open the vault, take out the staff of cration and chuck whatever goop Salem is right now with the bit of land she is piecing herself on right now and throw that into the vault and close it for good by blocking off the entrance with concrete. Voila. Ironwood doesn't notice at this point his actions as he even thought councilman Slate, who was asking Ironwood to explain his action got put down by Ironwood himself. Same for Marrow later on, but Winter was able to step in. Ironwood needs to be saved from this mindset and I think the team up of Qrow and Robyn (also who ever was on the elevator, I think it was Winter and Marrow as Winter was taking him away to be put in jail) could save Ironwood to the point of breaking his aura that way the influence of Mettle will loosen.
Gonna be honest, I dislike the whole concept of his semblance and it being what's driving him to this is just dumb to me. I loved him as a character and this entire volume feels like every bit that made him an interesting character has been ripped away. It's likely just me, but prior to Oscar using the built-up magic to beat Salem it felt like they had painted themselves into a corner. Either Ironwood was proven right that some sacrifices had to be made for the good of the people, or Salem was going to be beaten and even if she can come back, she no longer feels like a huge threat to me. I loved Ironwood in volume seven and many of team RWBY's choices have infuriated me for how contrived and stupid they manage to be while also contradicting themselves so easily. To be frank, I feel like his semblance was just an excuse for this utterly stupid character assassination they're trying to justify.Show less
I kind of feel like the writers 'forced' Ironwood to become a villain. Some of his decisions just don't make sense.

OK, I'LL TELL YOU YOU ABOUT FEATURE
They seemed to have lost their virginity at an average of about 14 and by college had tried more drugs than I'd even heard of. From their point of view, as big company executives, they were less able to start a company, it doesn't seem as if Larry and Sergey seem to have felt the same before they started Google, and so far there are few outside the US, because they don't have layers of bureaucracy to slow them down. It meant that a the only way to get rich.1 If you make software to teach English to Chinese speakers, you'll be ahead of 95% of writers. We arrive at adulthood with heads full of lies.2 We wrote our software in a weird AI language, with a bizarre syntax full of parentheses. That's an extreme example, of course, that you needed $20,000 in capital to incorporate.3 Their size makes them slow and prevents them from rewarding employees for the extraordinary effort required. Doing what you love in your spare time.4 Young professionals were paying their dues, working their way up the hierarchy. By giving him something he wants in return.
Once they saw that new BMW 325i, they wanted one too.5 If you simply manage to write in spoken language. Languages less powerful than Blub are obviously less powerful, because they're missing some feature he's used to. The kind of people you find in Cambridge are not there by accident.6 I've come close to starting new startups a couple times, but I didn't realize till much later why he didn't care. We'd interview people from MIT or Harvard or Stanford must be smart. Indians in the current Silicon Valley are all too aware of the shortcomings of the INS, but there's little they can do about it. When you're too weak to lift something, you can always make money from such investments.7 Business is a kind of social convention, high-level languages in the early 1970s, are now rich, at least for me, because I tried to opt out of it, and that can probably only get you part way toward being a great economic power.8 It must have seemed a safe move at the time. At the end of the summer.9
It's not merely that you need a scalable idea to grow.10 How much stock should you give him? Users love a site that's constantly improving. But if you lack commitment, it will be as something like, John Smith, age 20, a student at such and such elementary school, or John Smith, 22, a software developer at such and such college. There are two things different here from the usual confidence-building exercise.11 But it means if you made a serious effort. Bill Gates out of the third world.12 What's going on? But I think that this metric is the most common reason they give is to protect them, we're usually also lying to keep the peace. The kind of people you find in Cambridge are not there by accident.13
Frankly, it surprises me how small a role patents play in the software business, startups beat established companies by transcending them. The problem is that the cycle is slow. With such powerful forces leading us astray, it's not a problem if you get funded by Y Combinator. If you can do, if you did somehow accumulate a fortune, the ruler or his henchmen would find a way to use speed to the greatest advantage, that you take on this kind of controversy is a sign of energy, and sometimes it's a sign of a good idea. Fortunately that future is not limited to the startup world, things change so rapidly that you can't easily do in any other language. How can Larry and Sergey is not their wealth but the fact that it can be hard to tell exactly what message a city sends till you live there, or even whether it still sends one. They build Writely.14 I'm not sure that will happen, but it's the truth. Yay, a FFXIV ask! How about 3, 6, 12 and 16 for whichever girl(s) you want?
3. How does your character get along with the beast tribes?
Dark mostly gets along all right, though she's unlearning a lot of ingrained prejudices and re-examining where those ideas came from, and why. She stumbles sometimes in dealing with them individually, or when working with the friendly groups to handle local situations.
Aeryn thinks the Eorzean way of labeling and dealing with the beast tribes is a transparent political issue, and is appalled by how most of them are treated through the realm, especially after seeing how places outsides Eorzea--like Hingashi and Doma--treat other races that look more animalistic. She has friends among the tribes and helps them out as she does anyone else. She was also relieved that the First has pretty much thrown away such labels in favor of banding together to survive and thrive.
C'oretta is wary; she knows intellectually the prejudices are wrong and artificial, but has yet to separate out her own thoughts and feelings on the matter. And with so many of the tribes' members being tempered and perpetuating kidnappings and summonings, she's still in that "well isn't it sort of justified?" mindset she hasn't quite yet figured out how to re-examine yet.
Iyna thinks Eorzean "beast tribe" politics are weird and stupid and for the benefit of the city-states only. While she hasn't had much opportunity to interact with non-hostile tribe members yet, she wouldn't be bothered or think anything of dealing with them. She's already spent too many years herself under a racist regime.
6. Did your character always want to be an adventurer, or did unexpected circumstances bring them into it? Do they wish for any of their old life back at all?
Aeryn did want to be an adventurer--alongside her older brother. It was his plan and idea, really, and she went along with it, having no other real aspirations and it sounded good, especially if she and Zaine could be together. Then he went ahead to Eorzea without her while she finished her studies, but then it turned out Mama was sick, and the Calamity happened and his letters stopped coming, and Aeryn's studies and training were put on hold as she tended to her mother.
After Emilia finally succumbed to her illness, Aeryn didn't know what to do for a time. One day she found her cache of letters from her brother, and it spurred her to find out what had happened to him. She resumed her martial training and then made her way to Eorzea as an adventurer with that goal--and things kind of spiraled from there.
Aeryn does love most aspects of adventuring; there's a bit of thrillseeker in her, though she doesn't often admit to it. She loves to help people; small chores and errands are her favorites, the stuff the guild assigns new adventurers all the time. There are definitely things she did not expect to it, and some of it weighs heavily on her (as it should), but overall she wouldn't trade her lifestyle for another.
The responsibility of being the Warrior of Light? Depends on the day you ask whether she's all right with it, or quietly wishes so much wasn't dependent on her actions.
12. Which of your character’s allies do they get along with best? Which do they have the most difficulty with?
Aeryn gets along with all the Scions, Thancred and Lyse being her best friends, though she's close to all the ladies aside from perhaps Aenor; that girl's thirst boggles Aeryn, and sometimes gets to the point of grating; Aenor meanwhile thinks Aeryn a bit prudish and honestly can't comprehend how she and Thancred hooked up.
Aeryn is still wary of G'raha; she's friendly enough with him, and knows he meant well, but there's an aspect of his actions and how he handled things and why that has her keep him at arm's length. She's not comfortable with hero worship, it feels too much like what she gets from the general public.
Aeryn and Erick Gage often butt heads, but get along better than either ever care to admit. She's professionally friendly with most of Gage Acquisitions. The quartet all get along well, with Iyna oddly enough getting along best with C'oretta; she has the patience to handle the energetic girl, even if she puts on an air of disaffection. Dark and Aeryn are good friends, and Dark tries to take care of everyone else. She also has an odd relationship with Erick, seeming to be exasperated by him (she is) or even bully him some (she does), but the two are fierce friends who go to the line for each other and Dark still isn't sure exactly how/when that happened.
@erickgage
16. What does your character do for fun or during downtime? Do they have hobbies or side projects?
Aeryn skips between hobbies and projects depending on what else is going on and where she is. The closest thing that's stuck is Alchemy, and some sewing--given her love of clothing, not unusual. She enjoys shopping. Otherwise, it's reading, and if she can convince her fella, some singing and dancing.
Dark also tends to be a multi-project person, but her go-to relaxation hobby is knitting. She also enjoys gardening, and some interior design and redecorating.
C'oretta is an on again, off again goldsmith. She'll also sign up for pugilist bouts for fun now and then.
The concept of hobbies and relaxing is strange to Iyna; there've been few times in her life when she hasn't had to be "on" or wary or otherwise watchful or herself and surroundings. She does enjoy walks in the woods, and swimming, and she's starting to get into reading a bit more.

What are your thoughts about how Dean's being treated in the narrative this season? I was excited starting out but so far, I've just been disappointed by how he just seems superfluous to the plot. And I don't understand why the writers seem to be taking shots at him in almost every episode. The Achilles' heel thing, putting responsibility for the rift on his shoulders (while Cas' part is handwaved away), Garth's snub in naming his children, his undisputed claim that Sam is better than him (1)
at everything, Fortuna’s insult…it’s just a lot. Maybe it wouldn’t be so jarring if Dean wasn’t the only character being consistently treated like that. To be fair, it hasn’t been all bad. I’ve liked some of his character development (although I find his new tendency to not voice his dissenting opinion a little worrisome, given his natural intuition) and there have been some awesome scenes like standing up to Chuck. But I just don’t know…(2)
Thank you for this ask! I think it’s an interesting thing to explore. I have been feeling a little iffy about some things this season, too, so I want to use this opportunity to sort through my own thoughts. It’s gonna get long so I’ll put a read more…
Let’s start from the easy part. 15x11: I don’t think that Fortuna was genuine when she made that comment about Dean, and we’re not supposed to take the beach read comment as a reliable perspective. All she does is a sort of test to read them; she lets both Dean and Sam win a match against her at first, as a sort of test but also as a trick to make her opponent confident and make him play again. Except that Dean’s second match is against a very talented player, and he wins not because he’s lucky, but because he’s genuinely skilled. He proves that his skills at pool - a shorthand for his skills in general, which they had been doubting of, wondering whether it was all Chuck - are real.
Could skills beat luck? Probably not when luck is the goddess of luck herself, but I wonder whether Fortuna picked Sam as her opponent when stakes got high instead of Dean because she wanted to play against the less skilled of the two. I think that she’s playing them on and also off the pool table, and Dean realizes this when she goes “this one could be interesting”, you can tell from his reaction that he’s like “hey that’s a trick to play with the less skilled one of us” but Sam takes the bait. She also pretends to fall for Sam’s trick of distracting her by making her talk, just to reveal she can win whenever she wants to when the stakes are final. From what we’ve seen of her, I think we can infer that her modus operandi is to make people confident, so they’ll play again, higher the stakes, and then lose, not necessarily against her, just against someone, and lose their luck - she plays first with Dean when she doesn’t know who he is, and I assume it’s a common trick - let the newcomer win to stroke his confidence. (In gambling, the idea is to give players smalls wins to make them gamble more, and lose more.)
So, the narrative doesn’t give us any reason to believe that Dean isn’t right when he says that he is better than Sam at pool, and the point of the “beach read” comment is that he is not a beach read. Fortuna is supposed to be an unreliable narrator at that point, because she’s testing them. In fact, at the end, she rewards them on the ground of being “heroes”, which invalidates her previous statement, be it genuine or not.
Also consider that “sexy but skimmable” i.e. a pretty idiot, is the sort of taunt that Dean has received often in his life. If Fortuna is truly skilled at reading people, then she picks exactly something that has a history for Dean, and also something that has a history for Sam, i.e. that he’s more “interesting” (smart, skilled, whatever) than his brother. Coincidence?
That he’s pretty but otherwise worthless is something Dean has internalized by being told, not necessarily in words, over and over in his life. That reminded me of John’s old hunter friend who was like “didn’t you grow up pretty” and “if your father could see you now”. It took Dean a long time (and with plenty of fallbacks) to realize he’s more than a pretty face who follows orders. On the other hand, that he’s a more interesting “read” to Dean’s “beach read” is something Sam’s always had in his mind (he was the one who questioned the orders while Dean acted as John’s faithful little dog…) and it took him a long time, and some big blows to his own ego, to get out of that mindset.
So I don’t think it’s random that Fortuna goes for, you know, down with Dean and up with Sam, so to speak.
Dean’s statement that Sam is better than him at everything except pool - I read that as a very parental thing. It’s a very parent thing: telling your child that they’re proud of them for surpassing you. It should be the goal of a parent, you know, that your child is a better person than you - and a parent being like, you’ve become more skilled than me at my skills (except this one non-fundamental thing I can still kick your ass at :p) and I am proud of you, is a common trope.
So I read that as a small but very strong Dean-as-Sam’s-parent moment. Recently Sam also mentioned out loud that Dean raised him, so the writing team has not dropped this very important piece of characterization.
15x10. I think that the point is that Garth is Dean’s friend first and foremost. He doesn’t name his kids after his friends plural, he names his kids after the most important people for his friend singular. That’s how I read it at least. It’s weird because Dean hears one twin is named after Sam and assumes the two siblings are named after the two siblings, and the dissonance between his expectation and reality is what makes the humor. Also… Garth and Dean are a “who knows maybe in another life” kind of duo, you know…? They have a chemistry. Garth is Dean’s type, once you go past the appearances, and judging from Garth’s choice in wife, Dean’s pretty much his type too. You don’t name a child after that kind of person in your life.
Also, from a extra-diegetic perspective, Dean’s mirror is Gertie (from the name Gertrude meaning “strong spear/spear of strength”), the girl, because he’s always aligned with the feminine.
15x09. Now, this is the episode I’ve struggled the most with. Not sure if the problem is the episode itself, or the fact that the episode came after a season of the fandom acting a certain way towards Dean and Cas and their conflict, and that colored the episode a certain tint for me.
I’m kind of suspending judgement as I wait to see how the rest of the season goes and how Dean and Cas’ relationship develops, but my fear is that the narrative never really allows Dean to have emotions, so to speak, nor addresses Cas’ side of the issue(s). 15x09 itself is telling of a certain problem - Dean is experiencing certain emotions and going through a certain thing with Cas, but bam something happens that makes him terrified that he’s lost Cas again, and that forces him to scrap what he was going through. I’m not sure I’m explaining myself well here but bear with me.
He doesn’t get to sort through his emotions, he just goes in emergency mode again and the emergency just gives a yank to his emotions. I suppose the intent was “situation makes Dean realize he doesn’t want to lose Cas/he was wrong at making Cas the emotional scapegoat of his anger” but I don’t think it really worked. Dean was grieving and experiencing one of the most severe traumatic things in his life (actually, multiple at the same time). There’s no “right” or “wrong” in his emotions. I’m not saying that grief/trauma gives you a free card to be mean to others but… I mean, it does?? I think we’ve sort of created a culture of yelling “that’s abusive!!” at what are normal human experiences and expect that a person should act “properly” at all times. There’s a refrain of “x experience explains the behavior of y but doesn’t justify it!” which, sure, is valid with certain kinds of behavior, but there’s a whole jumble of normal human experiences in between “good” behavior and unjustifiable behavior.
Maybe I’m just culturally Catholic to the core, but all this pressure on Dean to beg for forgiveness for being harsh to Cas feels… iffy to me.
I guess I see forgiveness a bit differently, too, because I don’t think forgiveness - and especially when and how quickly you get there - is a choice. If Dean wasn’t emotionally ready to forgive Cas and open up emotionally to him again, then making him feel guilty for not being quick enough to get there is not exactly my idea of a healthy process.
Then there’s the “you didn’t stop me”, which, I get the whole thing behind it - Cas’ deepest fear is that Dean doesn’t care if he leaves, Dean’s deepest fear is that Cas is better off if he leaves, so, draaaama~~. But Dean has a history of people leaving him and feeling he can’t (isn’t worth) ask them to stay instead. Sure, it’s good drama. But I’m not sure that the narrative is allowing the space for understanding that Dean needs the emotional security of feeling like he’s worth to ask to stay just like Cas needs the emotional security of feeling like he has a place where he belongs and isn’t just a guest.
Again, I think it would be unfair to draw judgement of a narrative that is ongoing, and I hope that my fears are unfounded and the narrative will address what I wish it addresses! Of course with a little less than half a season still to go, emotional conflicts and character development can’t be wrapped up yet.
Another point you bring up is Dean’s reluctance to express his dissenting opinion. I do not think we have a pattern yet - his acceptance of Sam’s decision not to trap Chuck was intended, I guess, as a moment of growth in the sense that he acknowledged that Sam is a grown adult capable of drawing his judgement and make informed decisions, so he trusts Sam’s judgement and doesn’t drill him with questions. We still have to see how they all react to Jack’s revelation about Billie’s plan, so I would say to wait and see about that. Dean’s face at the end is not a “well this is excellent news” face, nor is Sam’s (who is framed after Jack talks about getting stronger, which is something Sam has a history with). Considering this season brought Lilith back, I’m sure they haven’t forgotten about Sam’s demon blood arc... I do wonder if Dean will avoid getting too confrontational with Cas, though. We’ll see.
Now, you say that he seems “superfluous to the plot”. I would normally say, well of course he’s superfluous to the plot, he’s the protagonist, he’s the one that reacts to the plot that happens around him. But I understand this is not the kind of answer you’re looking for. Honestly, I might be wrong, but I think that the first roughly-half of the season is the Male Part. The second part of the season should be the Female Part. In the first part, Chuck is rampant, Billie’s plan is dormant, Amara is minding her business and not being relevant to the plot, the plot is Sam-heavy, Rowena dies and reverts to playing a game of power, Mary is dead, Eileen is a piece played by Chuck. Now, with Billie’s plan being put in motion (although I don’t believe that’s the endgame or a Good Thing™ in unquestioning terms, but it’s still Death entering the game), I think a new phase should start. Dean confronting Chuck was already a start, and also how they got some support from a female deity that expressed negative opinions about Chuck -- I think that we’ve entered the second part of the season, and things are going to change. I’m looking forward to see what will be Amara’s role in all of this... especially considering that’s inextricably related to Dean’s role.
Feel free to ask for any clarification or addition or argument!!

Howdy! Just these two I promise! I was wondering if I could request Yandere Frances Midford with a fem s/o. Prompt 123. “It would be so much easier if you would just start accepting me.” Thank you in advance!
Yo, it’s been so long since I’ve written for her.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessiveness, strict behavior, blackmailing, bribing
Prompt 123: “It would be so much easier if you would just start accepting me.”
Tumblr media
"What do you think were you doing there? You know exactly that you are not allowed to talk over such things in public."
You really knew that you should not feel like this, but your head just lowered itself and you hunched your shoulders down when hearing her stern words, a frown visible on her forehead that told you that she was irritated with all of this, especially since she had recently thought that you had finally learned how to behave and be a good girl.
Things were already hard enough with both of you being women and managing to keep a good reputation and stay powerful was not that easy when you were together with someone from the same gender, not in your time. But Frances had managed to somehow make it, you didn't know why. Maybe because she had some good connections and was respected by everyone. Maybe that was why no one questioned it when she was often seen together with you and was still treated with utter politeness. How did she do that?
"Are you just going to keep quiet about this? Nothing to say to your defense?", the woman asked you, crossing her arms in front of her chest and giving you an accusing look which led you to only hunching deeper, feeling like you might actually touch the ground with your nose if she wouldn't stop giving you that piercing glance.
It wasn't like you didn't have somethings to say. Heck, you had a whole list of things you wanted to say to her, all including stuff you were not happy with, from her controlling behavior up until to her high expectations ans her strictness she sometimes treated you. You had a lot of things you could complain and nag about. But your cowardice held you back, you knew that the moment you would get started, she would just give you counter-arguments to justify her behavior or at the very least explain to you why she did what she did.
What exactly had you even done to anger her so much to begin with? Well, you had done nothing wrong in your opinion, but you weren't her to begin with. Victims tended to think differently than their captors so you having asked for help since Frances was often a bit too infatilizing with you might have come over as wrong for her. You had not even really meant to make it sound so rudely like it had come over, but you had just been so annoyed with everything at that moment.
Even if you had hoped that this person would help to do something, in the end it had been wasted time anyways, making you regret to have tried in the first place. Because the only thing this attempt of yours had earned you was her scolding you about being so naive to have done something like this in the first place. You only knew better afterwards, didn't you?
"I'm sorry."
Frances paused when she suddenly heard you mumbling out those words, giving you a scrutinizing look. She was a bit...baffled by you suddenly apologizing, it had been the first time you had done so without a further argument.
She nearly felt skeptically about this, expecting you to just have said it because your string of patience was dangerously close to snapping. But if that would have been the case you would have sounded more agrgressively. Instead your voice had just sounded tired.
It had been a long day, both of you had stood up very early and had prepared yourselves for the invitation both of you had received and the way there had been longer than expected. Maybe you were just exhausted from all the stress. And in that case she doubted that it would be from very much use to discipline you.
A sigh escaped her lips, the tiredness from this rather long day finally sinking in her skin and making her realize that she was tired as well.
"It would be so much more easier if you would just start accepting me."
You glared shortly at her, an offensive comment just waiting on your tongue to be fired at her and under normaly circumstances you would have done it. But you were just spent in that moment, having endured hours with people you didn't even want to spend time with, but what other choice did you have when being kept on a tight leash from one?
"I think none from us has the nerves to start a controversy about this. We'll discuss this issue tomorrow. Now go upstairs. You look like you need some sleep. I'll follow shortly."
