So Here's the Thing About the Fenton Parents...
I have written more than one post about the Fenton parents now. You might have seen them, you might not have. These are the two posts if you're curious: meta post and the original ask that inspired the meta.
From these posts, I've learned that this topic can be very divisive in the fandom. There are those that prefer them depicted as good parents, others as bad, some search for a more mild depiction of the Fentons' poor parenting, so on and so forth. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you want a certain depiction or trope, please read those and be respectful to those who don't. It's as simple as that.
However, there is something that I realized we don't talk enough about as a fandom. I'll admit, I've done the same:
How can we depict the Fentons as good parents when they cannot adhere to basic safety standards?
It's easy to excuse this as quirky, eccentric behavior. This is a cartoon show after all, we shouldn't take it that seriously. Except... Danny Phantom, the show, has also showcased how their lacking safety measures has hurt and injured the people around them. More than once.
Vlad was first with the proto-portal in college. Arguably, their children have been struggling with their parents' carelessness long before the portal was ever finished: their food is constantly ecto-contaminated, coming back to life to traumatize their young kids, as we see in "The Fright Before Christmas". And then, of course, we have the Accident. Danny is turned half-ghost, and the rest is history.
Only... now these two have ecto-powered weapons that they use to hunt ghosts, caring very little when their hunts intrude on or injure their children, like the multiple occasions they have turned their weapons to Jazz, who is neither half-ghost or anything ghost-adjacent in canon.
There have been multiple scenes where the Fentons blatantly choose to ignore safety standards. The meta post I linked earlier shows a couple of such examples. But you might be wondering, what does this have anything to do with their parenting style? Well...
If they were good parents, their children's safety would be top of mind.
The Fentons cannot be wishy-washy with their basic lab procedures and also be good parents. These two facts cannot coexist, especially so when their lab headquarters is in their home, where curious children can walk in at any time, unsupervised. Should kids be walking into a lab with dangerous chemicals around? No, but it is their responsibility as parents to make sure their kids don't roam about.
It is their responsibility to teach their children this basic safety procedure, and adhere to it themselves, because it is meant to protect them and everyone around them. This cannot be a "do as I say, not as I do" situation. Their failure to be responsible can both directly and indirectly harm others, as we see from canon, where Danny becomes a halfa in a second portal accident.
Strictly speaking, if Danny had good parents, he would not have become a halfa in the first place. If the Fentons were good parents, they would have been there, in that lab, with Danny, Sam, and Tucker, supervising their visit. Danny would have never been allowed into the portal which- at that time- had been dysfunctional. Furthermore, even if Danny had been allowed in the portal, it should have been unplugged in adherence to safety code. Therefore, even if Danny did trip and hit, say, a misplaced "On" button inside, it wouldn't have turned on because it should not have been powered up to begin with.
More than once, safety measures could have been implemented to prevent a lab accident, yet nothing ever came out of it.
Furthermore, neither Fenton parent make an effort to reach out to Vlad after his own accident. Of course, we could extrapolate and say that the Fentons tried but were barred entry. However, that is more wishful thinking and personal headcanons than based on concrete canon evidence. What does this indicate about the Fentons?
Simply put, they are not good people. Of course, there are many characters in media that are depicted as villains but show compassion and care for their children. The Fentons are not one of them. They say they love their children, but very few times do they show it outside fighting off ghosts- which they would have done regardless if their children were there or not. They do not have respect for personal boundaries, public or private property, or public safety.
There are more than a few examples of this, but here is a very obvious one: the portal itself.
The Fentons believe that ghosts are nothing more than scum; they believe ghosts are malicious entities that would destroy the world given the chance. And yet they thought it was a good idea to create a portal to a world full of so-called malicious entities with little to no preparation whatsoever.
Oh sure, they have their weapons, but as we can see these two cannot be everywhere at once. Not even Danny, with superpowers, can be everywhere at once. The Fentons do not build a door for the portal until episode 13 of the series. 13 episodes. By this time, there have already been multiple ghost attacks, some of which spanned city-wide.
Incompetence is not an excuse. In fact, that incompetence should outright disbar them from keeping their children.
At the end of the day, whether you believe the Fentons really do love their children beyond their prejudice, they have repeatedly shown that they cannot be trusted to care for their children. This begs the question:
Is it still possible for the Fentons to be good parents?
Technically speaking, yes. Everyone is capable of change. The Fentons are more than capable of learning from their mistakes, although evidence indicates that they likely wouldn't, seeing how there were two portal accidents.
But yes, they can learn from the past and become better parents in the future. Jazz and Danny would likely have to be removed from the home until they update and comply with safety regulations, and they may even lose their business license because of their failure to adhere, but it is still possible.
However, the Fentons were not always good parents. Even if they were to learn and grow as people, it cannot be ignored that once upon a time, they had been responsible for a lot of damage: material, physical, mental, and emotional. This can come with consequences, including prison time and losing custody of their children.
Of course, we could choose to ignore all of this. We as a fandom do that for many aspects of canon, the Fenton parents could just be another one. You could argue that canon declares the Fenton parents are good.
But here's another thing:
The Fentons redeem themselves as parents when they accept Danny after a reveal. They are not automatically good ones.
Hopefully this will be the last meta on the Fenton parents from me. I understand people want Danny's parents to be good, and they certainly can be, but I am tired of people ignoring the very real neglect and abuse both their kids suffered. You do not have to have the Fentons dissect Danny to make them abusive. You do not have to have the Fentons work day and night to make them negligent.
Abuse and neglect cover a variety of cases. That includes kids like this too.
Thank you for reading.

If you feel comfortable can you do ateez being OBSESSED with reader's boobs
ateez being obsessed with their s/o's boobs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre: fluff, suggestive ig?
warnings: not proofread, suggestive but not really - all boob talk in these headcanons are strictly fluffy and non-sexual. just some cute lil boob appreciation :D
a/n: yk what i don't usually do stuff like this but i WILL do this one because boobs need to be appreciated and loved :3
Tumblr media
hongjoong
god, he loves them...
so he mainly uses them as pillows
will complain about the ache in his neck a lot because he's been tiring away and hunched over in the studio for hours bless 🤧🤧🤧
and he gives you shiny eyes
"you know what would really help me?"
you already know the answer
so you sigh in defeat as he happily snuggles his head on your chest and just lays there
and its endearing because he has never drifted off to sleep so fast before...
seonghwa
this is so funny because i have seen most to leasts of who is most likely to be a boob guy in ateez and seonghwa is ALWAYS< WITHOUT FAIL on top
like... is this canon??? where you guys getting this info from to collectively agree with each other??
anyways, the rumours are true. he loves 'em
just likes a soft they are
and how they look
and how they feel when he hugs you...
idk he just adores them, you get the idea
yunho
openly adores your boobs
he's a man who knows what he wants, yk?
"life's too short to not love boobs"
a new motto of his. charming.
likes it when you wear clothing that accentuates or complements your boobs
he admires them <33333
also he's tall so you gotta watch out for when he's trying to take a peak which is always
yeosang
will absolutely stare at them mindlessly or when he is bored
you know when some people just zone out
he tends to do that a lot. but why does he have to look at that specific area?? idk you tell me
he just thinks they're nice :)
gets a bit shy when you wear an outfit that shows cleavage
he's constantly trying to reprimand himself like "don't look it's not polite"
all i'm gonna say is that you can totally use his obsession to your advantage hehe
san
he's a very clingy boy
and yk what, idk about you but, i'm here for it
he is a cuddle bug and wants to cuddle into you 25/8
claims your boobs are simply the most comfortable things on the planet
and simply has to be in contact with them in some way whilst you guys snuggle up
he does like being on top of you and having his head on your chest. that's less of a boob-obsession thing and more of a comfort thing. he jsut likes being held and being close to you like that ;-;
idk he's a softie
mingi
i classify this guy as being the number 1 boob appreciator in ateez
there's just something about him
i can just TELL he lovesssss them
more than he should, probably
but we can cut him some slack cos he's cute :]
he tries to be subtle with his admiration for your boobs but he literally isn't fooling anyone
another tall guy to look out for because he can and will stare at your boobs
he can be so obvious sometimes it's actually embarrassing
wooyoung
every time he goes in for a hug, his head ends up on your chest as he hugs you
i have a friend who does that all the time like it's a real thing
it's kinda cute actually
and it's less to piss you off and more because he thinks they are comfy
will also use them as pillows
but likes it when he's the small spoon and he can feel them behind him
idk he's not picky when it comes to this so 🤷
jongho
he thinks he's so slick and prim and proper but the moment he catches a glimpse of your boobs it's over for him
he's surprisingly shy about his love for your boobs
like
he doesn't know what to do with himself
wants to touch them non-sexually but second guesses himself
'would you find it weird? am i going crazy?'
those are the types of things going through his mind
but he just stays a blushing mess while you're blissfully unaware of the effect you have on him

idk if you've done this. but—nsfw head canons for erejean threesome? 👀
no, i haven't answered this yet!! thank you for asking because i desperately wanna talk about this 😫
kinda tbaw jean/eren but also kinda just general jean/eren threesome headcanons
also sorry this is REALLY horny i'm super drunk rn
Tumblr media
eren&jean
this is definitely eren's idea. he proposes it as a joke, but doesn't back down when jean takes it seriously
i think eren is initially intimidated by the size of jean's dick, so he proves himself by making you cum with his fingers and his tongue as many times as he can
they definitely keep score for who can make you cum the most 💀
once they start having sex with you i think their attitude completely switches up from being competitive to cooperative
jean fucks you first because you've already been sleeping with eren for a while so he wants to help coach jean through it
you're leaning with your back pressed against eren's chest while jean fucks you. eren's holding your legs open with one hand while his other hand is swirling on your clit and egging jean on she gets so fucking tight when she cums -- can you feel it?
eren gets really turned on by the way you squirm and the sight of your pussy stretching out around jean's dick and he's grinding up against your ass until he finally asks if he can put it in
you guys have to switch positions to find something comfy and eventually decide on: jean on his back, you straddling his hips, and eren standing off the bed between jean's legs -- that's the only way you can get both dicks in you at once
you don't even have to move, both boys are just fucking you while you hold still and try not to explode from the feeling of having two cocks in you at once
jean cums first and eren absolutely gloats about it afterwards
(in a world where ass-to-pussy doesn't cause issues) when jean pulls out, eren switches to your pussy and loses his mind about how wet you are and how he's gonna fuck both his and jean's cum so deep in you
eren/jean
jean is definitely more comfortable w his sexuality than eren. he's fucked around with guys, maybe he's had a boyfriend or two, but eren has strictly only done drunken one night stands because he has a lil bit of internalized homophobia
but jean is very nice about it and encourages eren to jerk him off just close your eyes and pretend its your dick but then gets angry when eren is too rough
then jean shows him how it's done and the two boys are jerking each other off in front of you 👀
when they kiss it's rough, like they're trying to bite each other and they're moaning and groaning, gripping each other's cocks tightly until eren pulls away and is like we're here to fuck her not each other
i think jean makes eren suck him off and is kinda rough about it. revels in the way that eren chokes on his cock with a fistful of his hair in his hand like awww can't take it? is it too big, eren?
they switch so you can sit on eren's face while jean is sucking him off and eren nearly loses it and has to shove jean's face away
similar position to before: jean on his back, you in his lap, and eren between jean's legs -- but this time, eren fucks jean 👀

Welcome to the lab...
Overview:
In the aftermath of the events of the Sumeru Archon quest, Epsilon is a Segment on the run from his creator, Dottore. Saved from being purged like the other Segments by only a bit of faulty programming, Epsilon is now forced to reckon with his creator's actions, his imperfections, and a newfound sense of individuality.
Rules:
Mod is a minor, so absolutely no NSFW is allowed. Any NSFW is an immediate block and blacklist. If this account interacts with you and you are not comfy with interaction with minors, mod apologizes, despite his efforts sometimes things slip through the cracks.
Mod likes morally corrupt characters. Yes, mod still has boundaries about how far he is willing to take them. Push these boundaries and you will be blocked.
This blog allows shipping so long as it is of age. That said, no relationship with Epsilon will ever be fully healthy or normal. He is highly likely to see the whole relationship as an ongoing experiment and it shows.
No shipping wars. I'll just block you. Also most of mod's personal ships are OC x canon, so please respect that he often has no opinion on most canon x canon ships. While he is happy to talk about his headcanons and OC x canon ships, harassment over it will lead to a block.
All ships will be a medium to slow burn. Epsilon takes awhile to actually trust people.
Epsilon identifies as panromantic sapiosexual. Please respect that.
Proshippers are strictly prohibited, as are bigots (this is your one warning, should any interaction occur you will be immediately and publicly blacklisted as well as blocked)
DO NOT INTERACT IF YOU HEADCANON DOTTORE AS ANY KIND OF PREDATOR. It makes almost zero sense for his character and frankly you're just not welcome here. I especially don't want that stuff being pushed onto my own character.
Please keep in mind that mod is multifaceted and has his own life and interests. I ask that you attempt to see the person behind the screen and find out more about him at @potatothemoose
Mod is nervous around Kazuha-related content due to bad associations, please be patient.
Personality:
Epsilon is an intelligent man with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, but he's also a coward at heart. He's arrogant and often too proud to ask for help - or too afraid to. Generally, he gives off the unsettling vibes of an unstable madman, which he is. However, he is also talkative and curious, and who's to say he can't occasionally rein himself in long enough to be 'normal'?
Appearance:
Epsilon is a tall and lanky individual with messy blue hair, red eyes, and a chemical burn scar over the upper left side of his face. He tends to wear all kinds of glowing vials of liquid, button-up shirts, an oversized labcoat, and a bright red bandana. His smile is filled with unnaturally sharp teeth. Pressing down too hard on the bridge of his nose will open his faceplate and reveal the mechanical workings beneath.
Other trivia:
This man is way more easily startled than he'd have you believe
Epsilon carries all of Dottore's memories, including any and all traumatic ones (being branded a heretic, facing continuous rejection from his own people, being an outcasted child prodigy...) and it heavily affects him
He doesn't really need to eat but he loves meat. Raw meat. Please don't let him prepare food for you

Hey! I'm really sorry that life has been so rough lately, I'm keeping you in my thoughts 🙏 here are some things I'd love to hear your thoughts about, & feel free to make it as long & detailed as you want! 1/your favourite piece of Bajoran worldbuilding (from the show or from a fic you've read or from your own headcanons - you decide!); 2/your favourite type of alien clothing on any star trek (or single favourite alien outfit) & why you like it; 3/what your concept for Ben & Kasidy's child is: who they are, who they grow up to be, etc.; & finally, 4/your opinions about the clock Ben builds in "Dramatis personae". Here you go! Take care <3
... this is so incredibly sweet, thank you😭😭 I really truly appreciate it, as well as all of these Very interesting questions❤️❤️
Ahhh it's hard to pick, I love so much about Bajoran worldbuilding! First of all the non-linearity of their religion is SO COOL & mind-blowing to think about, & I really love the way it- by its very nature- allows you to re-contextualise so much of the show's lore. Like- is Joseph Sisko written into ancient Bajoran prophecies thanks to his non-linear affair with a Prophet?? Do those prophecies inform or influence traditional archetypes of love in Bajoran culture?? Did Kira grow up learning about an archetype of corporeal love based entirely on Joseph Sisko, the father of an alien man who would decades later become her boss??? I don't know!! But I can write fic about it!!! (And then not post it!!!🙈😂) I do headcanon that dominant Bajoran cultures all have strong archetypical figures, it just makes sense to me given their caste system & that "three brothers" story Kira tells Ben & just how much emphasis they as people place on roles and duty and their place in the world (and on their world). I also love the recurring theme that they greatly value (and like, listen to) their planet. They talk about Bajor like it's a living organism, one big ecosystem they are all a part of, and whenever there are floods, famines, earthquakes, etc, they pay attention, as if its a bug in the immune system- such an interesting contrast to Cardassia, where they plundered their own resources & then came for others. There's this whole collective spiritual (rather than strictly political or social) connectivity that I find very fascinating- something about Kira thinking of herself as simply an empty "vessel" to the powers that safeguard her planet & connect her to her fellow Bajorans. It makes me wonder about their large diaspora, & the sort of pain Bajorans like Ro may carry around over that forced separation. Oh, and that they have Fire Caves. Like those Fire Caves were really just hanging around the whole time huh. Also that Proper hasperat is apparently supposed to be made with a brine so strong your eyes water. So that's five things!
2. Garak's Watermelon Suit.
3.
Lol jk. Garak does have some fire 'fits tho (that red and black tunic with the embroidery? A Look🙌) Anyway,
2. I also think Lenara's purple formal dress was really pretty! And most of Quark's outfits are killer tbh. The detail!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kira's dress from 'Fascination' was fun- and I like both Winn Adami costumes a lot, the vedek robes with the opera house hat & also the golden kai robes. Again, there's a lot of cool details (esp with that elliptical Bajoran symbol & patterned fabric which the 90s quality completely nukes.) Oh, and speaking of hats- all of Guinan's hats are iconic, and Jadzia's Klingon wedding dress was pretty cool too. Basically I am terrible at choosing things; I just now remembered Spock's Goth Chic robe from TMP and that reminded me SNW has been doing some really cool things with T'Pring's wardrobe-
3. The siskasidy baby!!! I have named this baby so many different things in post-canon fics lol, everything from Jennifer to Sarah to Jadzia ("Jazzy", or "Jazz" for short- I think this is my favourite, given how Avery Brooks seems to be irl about jazz.) I don't think I have any real headcanons about who they grow up to be (I'd love to hear any ideas you may have!) but I did come to terms with Ben missing out on their first year(s?) by imagining he sort of spiritually shares consciousness with several Bajorans over that time period (very much consensually, like this is an experience that allows these Bajorans to walk with the Prophets for a time & also enriches Ben's- and the Prophets'- understanding of Bajoran life) and these Bajorans befriend Kasidy & look out for her and the baby <3
4. Lmaooo I have SO many feelings about this clock. Like WHY did he build a CLOCK. *frantic strings across conspiracy board* I know, I know, the writers were probably just going for something random at the time, it was, at heart, a goofysilly s1 episode that easily could've been on TNG or VOY- but it really does become sort of mind-blowing when you consider it in the grander scheme of Ben's arc. Plus- they kept it in his office throughout the series!! They put it in JAKE'S HOME in the alternate 'Visitor' timeline!! I do think that episode implies their weird behaviours also came from somewhere within them (that's how I like to explain Kira Your-taste-in-men-frightens-me Nerys flirting with Weird Aliens Odo & Dax anyway😂), so I like to think Ben just has this deep ponderance of time & temporality just like. Sitting within him somewhere. The clock was actually from an ancient Gamma Quadrant civilisation whose memories possessed them all, but I still feel like that last shot where Ben sets off the timepiece he (for some reason) built from scratch and lets it tick was Symbolic somehow. Like- this man is part-Prophet!! He was conceived non-linearly his birth was arranged he was always meant to discover the Celestial Temple aka the path to- you guessed it- the Gamma Quadrant!! Something something Events Set In Motion

I've been in and out of the VnC tag in the past couple of days after doing a reread of the series (and finally watching the anime) and one thing I keep seeing is people asking if the whole thing between Vanitas and Noe is "queerbaiting". I can kinda understand why some people might think that, but here's my personal take on why Mochijun had no such intention (TL;DR I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE BEING MEAN ABOUT THIS SERIES AND I AM TIRED OF THE ONES DEFENDING IT BY SAYING THEY'RE NOT GAY. COME AND FIGHT ME.)
So, a lot of these opinions are going to come from some of my understandings about Japanese fandoms and the way their genres work. In order to explain this, I'm going to need to talk about another piece of media I like, an indie game called "Witch's Heart". I PROMISE I will get to why this has to do with VnC and the idea of queerbaiting.
Awhile ago, the dev of Witch's Heart came under fire for saying that any non-canon ships should not be put in the main tag, especially gay ones because "Witch's Heart is not a game about gay people" (please keep in mind that the dev could not speak English very well before you get your panties in a wad about the poor wording. They've already stated they have nothing wrong with gay ships or LGBT headcanons). A lot of people were outraged, especially since the American fandom for this game is heavily LGBT. But the thing is; the dev themself has been seen liking gay ships and art of their characters as trans, so many argued that there's no way this person hates to see those things *period*, they just didn't want them in the main tag for some reason.
That's when the Japanese members of the fandom came forward to explain; and here is what I learned. Japanese fandom tends to focus a lot on the idea of "fantasy", that being the idea that anyone can interpret any relationship as being romantic or platonic according to their wishes. That's why a lot of relationships when written tend to teeter on that line of romance and friendship, and why a lot of characters may seem subtly LGBT coded. It was stated that the reason headcanons and non-canon ships did not belong in the canon tag is because in Japanese fandom, the canon tag is strictly to give people an idea of what the story is about, whereas the non-official tag is for any headcanons and ships that aren't canon-compliant. Posting something unofficial in the canon tag is thus seen as selfishly declaring your ships and headcanons to be canon, prioritizing YOUR fantasy above anyone else's. That's why a lot of people took issue with it and saw it as rude.
It was also stated that LGBT things, especially M/M and F/F relationships, tend to be shoved aside into their own "genres" regardless of what the story is actually about. For example, sometimes I even see "No. 6", which has a very heavy plot outside of the romance, sometimes tossed to the side and categorized as "BL" (which grinds my gears for many reasons. And if you're asking "what's no. 6"-- go watch it). Thus when they said "this is not a story about gay people", they were referring to those genres.
You may be asking "okay cool but what does this have to do with VnC--" hold on hold on I am GETTING THERE.
So what I am saying about VnC is this: A lot of Mochijun's stories tend to have very homoerotic themes and relationships in them, but nothing that seems explicit. I personally believe that this is because she wants to create that "fantasy" I mentioned earlier without her stories being shoved aside and being considered "Just BL" stories. I think that doing this and allowing LGBT people to fantasize about seeing themselves in these characters they love might be the best she can do without her stories simply being tossed aside, and I don't think that what she's doing specifically counts as "queerbaiting". Several of her characters and their interactions are queer coded: Domi and her gnc manner of dressing and flirtations with women, Jeanne's way of acting around Domi, the way Roland acts around Vanitas and Noe (and how Noe blushes in response), the way Jean-Jacques and Noe's interactions happened when they could have easily put those interactions between him and Chloe instead, and of course; whatever the hell Vanitas and Noe have going on. I will never believe that she did this all just because she hates gay people and wants their money. I believe she did this out of love for her LGBT audience and a desire to give them characters they could relate to even if it can't be entirely explicit. And many people may be frustrated that it never will be as explicit as they want it to be-- and hey! You know what? Your frustration is valid! But I don't think Mochijun is the one to be angry with-- I think we should be more angry with censorship and those who shove stories with LGBT characters to the side in the first place and act like those stories don't matter outside of the relationships.
People may be thinking "did you write this just to yell at the queer fandom" and actually, I did not. I wrote this bc all of the discourse I saw defending this show was saying that Vanitas and Noe were "just friends" and that their interactions were not at all queer coded. Don't get me wrong: if you wanna see them as just besties, that's fine but to deny that any homoerotic subtext is there is being willfully ignorant at best. I won't tell you why because there are literally a million other essays you could read on the matter by fans that are more mentally ill about dedicated to the matter than me, and this has gone on too long anyway. But I couldn't stand the idea that the only two options were demonizing Mochijun or turning a blind eye to queer interpretations. There HAS to be a middle ground, people.

1. No asking me to do smut because I’ll say no. Keep in mind that I’m a minor, and I don’t particularly want to write a lot of that. Minor sexual innuendos are fine, just no straight-up smut. Go to 18+ blogs for that please.
2. Please don’t pressure me to keep writing; every once in a while is okay, but I have a life outside of Tumblr (high school wants to kill me).
3. Remember that I can and will only do things that I feel like doing. So don’t get mad if I don’t do your request.
4. I do character x reader, oc x reader, and oc x oc - no character x character (No hate, I’m just pretty bad at it; writing canon characters that are in character is hard enough for me). For a list of my OCs, go here or here (I apologize that I don't have anything on Tumblr, I just haven't had the time). To add to this, I make all of my writing gender-neutral as possible, even when gender is specified by a request (I know the feeling of being pulled out of a story when seeing the wrong pronouns, so I try to avoid it). That being said, I will do things like "how ___ would react if the reader was on their period" or something like that, but it will continue to have as few pronouns as possible. Most often, the only times that I will specify gender for a reader is if it is for a specifically trans reader (as I do have more ideas for those than cisgender readers... It's probably because I fit into the trans category haha). I will rarely write specifically for female readers as that can give me dysphoria, and I don't really like that.
5. Also, no homophobia, transphobia, queerphobia in general; I’m not going to tolerate that. To add to that, any misogyny, sexism, racism, etc is not okay (So basically, if you hate people of color (especially Asians) that were born female and are not cisgender or heterosexual, you probably shouldn't talk to me).
6. No adult x minor (because it’s illegal) and I feel really uncomfortable with that topic.
7. Please be specific in your requests for writing; include ship, what sorta plot, and what point of view (also gender of reader, if applicable, otherwise I'll make it a gender-neutral reader). Here’s a general outline:
Ship: oc x oc (e.g. Tatsuya x Kenji), oc x reader (e.g. Chisuke x female reader), character x reader (e.g. Bakugo (I love him so much-) x gender-neutral reader), character x character (e.g. Iwaizumi x Oikawa (yes my OTP))
Plot: Mood (e.g. Fluff/angst/comfort/fluff to angst), trope (if applicable) (e.g. enemies to lovers, forbidden love), actual plot (e.g. Character A and Character B get into a fight, and Character C (their mutual friend) makes them a homemade date to make them get back together).
Point of View: First person (i/my), Second person (you/your), Third person (she/he/they) (e.g. Both Tatsuya and Kenji’s point of view, changes from time to time- third person; first person, reader’s point of view; second person, Dabi’s point of view, etc)
Other: (add anything else here-) (especially any little things you want me to add (like if you want to have your pet in there or anything-)
8. I am not comfortable writing readers that are a trans female, nor am I comfortable with headcanoning characters to be a trans female (unless they canonically are). I would rather not write them at all than write something that really sucks and could be unintentionally transphobic etc. (Also since I'm already kind of struggling with trans guys (even though I'm like really close to identifying as one) I just don't want to struggle more with trying to do good representation yk.)
9. Please don't follow if you're strictly an 18+ blog? Reading, liking, and reblogging are fine but I'd rather not have blogs that aren't for minors following me, I hope you understand :)

For the bingo any or all of the following: Griffith, Charlotte, Jeeves, Lan Xichen, Father Mulcahy
aw thanks for the ask Moth <3, I did all of 'em!! which means this is kinda long so I'll put it under a cut
in order: Griffith
Tumblr media
the only reason he didn't get a bingo w/ 'they're deeper than they seem' is because he's already a well written and pretty deliberately nuanced character in canon! but he gets a bingo in my heart :') undoubtedly one of my blorbos. I think his level of screen time (or page space, as it were) works well with the story, but I don't care, I wish there was mooorreee, I esp wish that there were scenes between him and Guts just hanging out during the three year time skip, but alas. I'm basically obsessed with Griffith, the only reason I'm not saying more here is becase then I'll never stop.
Charlotte:
Tumblr media
Charlotte is kind of interesting to me, because if we're talking strictly about her in canon, then I don't actually have that much to say. she's fine; I like her because she's a bit of a sweet and naive reprieve from an arc otherwise filled with some angsty drama queens, and she has a narrative purpose that she fulfils, but she's not a very interesting or complicated character. I think more could have been done with her, but not in a way that's distracting, at least during the GA (post-eclipse has me feeling a bit stronger about the wasted potential tho). but in terms of headcanons and stuff I've made up about her for my own purposes, then I'm very fond of her and her hypothetical journey lol.
Jeeves:
Tumblr media
this was kind of haarddd because while I like the Jeeves stories, I'm not deeply attached to Jeeves on his own, you know? he's a fun unit when he's concocting shenanigans with Bertie, but we don't ever really see him on his own since the entire series is from Bertie's pov (save for Bertie Changes His Mind ofc). I do wish Jeeves had more screen time especially in the later books, because while I like that their relationship becomes more equal as the series progresses, the story always ends up sending Jeeves away for whatever reason so that Bertie is forced to deal with The Plot on his own for a lot of it. that's pretty fun in it's own right too, but I just want more scenes of Bertie and Jeeves being chummy together lol. ALSO Jeeves definitely pulls some dick moves and fucks Bertie over particularly in earlier stories, which is the reason for the uncommitted 'wow! they are a horrible person' lol. Lan Xichen:
Tumblr media
BINGO! haha I love Lan Xichen a lottt, especially the cql version, mainly because that's the adaptation I'm most familiar with (and ngl I am attracted to Liu Haikuan specifically as Lan Xichen lmao, he's just so beautiful god). I really like what a decent person he is, and how deliberately fair and understanding he tries to be, and how despite that-- or maybe because of it-- his story ends up being so tragic. I love his relationships with others, especially with JGY (though I also love his relationship with LWJ & like, the Lan Sect lmao), and how he quite literally goes through heartbreak and enters a deep depression after JGY's death-- like even though JGY's crimes and lies came to light, to me it always felt like what messed him up the most was that JGY had lied to him about it all, and his dismay at everything JGY did wars with his compassion for the things JGY had to deal with. Idk idk, Xiyao makes me crazy lol.
Father Mulcahy:
Tumblr media
this one was hard too! Mulcahy is one of my favorite characters in MASH, but my feelings aren't intense enough for most of the bingo squares to like, fit... I just like him because he's nice! He tries his best despite not actually being a medical professional in an active warzone, and his eagerness to help is very endearing. I also like the contradiction of him having long moments of self doubt about his usefulness as a priest at a MASH unit vs his desire for the acknowledgement that he feels he deserves. I like the hints of his impoverished childhood where he was bullied, and got into boxing as a way to defend himself. And while we're at it, I love that he boxes and is probably the most athletic person at the MASH unit lmaooo. Something about a little nerdy priest who could probably punch your lights out but chooses not to, yannow? (also 'why do they look like that' is hearted because he often makes me think of like, bi girls that I went to college with aofiajeogifja)

Blog Intro:
- This blog is for my OC x Canon Universe, AUs may be introduced at somepoint, and will be under #au you can ask messages to the AU, but please specify. I use my own headcanons here and my version of Diluc, it may vary from what you wish/want/or perceive as canon. I wouldn't say my version necessarily but just, "my writings/written Diluc" / "how I write Diluc"
-Diluc will respond as the OC x Canon Universe version regardless of the ask, although unless Lily is mentioned, there really isn't any need to specify this.
-This blog skips around in the timeline often, if you wish to ask a question to a certain part of time, please specify
-You can ask romantic questions, it will be tagged as #noncanon since it is.. not canon to any universe I have. Honestly if you want to do this just ask me to roleplay with you in dms, its easier and more fun for me, I prefer writing vs simply replying in character though. Lit Roleplays they are called right? >< Minors please do not ask direct romantic questions, general things as "what is your dream date" are fine but I don't want to write any romance for a minor.
- I have not run a blog like this before, be aware of that
- the in universe explantation for this blog is that lady beatrice gave everyone a book and they write and receive questions and no one else can read the book..or .. simply it doesnt matter. Basically Diluc is aware of the universe he is receiving questions from is a paraell of 'Lilys Original Universe' (think that book from sunset to twilight in equestria girls.. that was the main inspo)
- Questions can be sent for Kaeya, Claret, Lily and other ocs if I ever add any more (specify or it default's to diluc)
-You or you're ocs can reply, if its an oc, please specify for me
-Lily is literally just me, but as a written (fictionalized) version of me that is in Teyvat, there are differences since.. she is an alternate me essentially. Although what she says does not correlate to me always. If Lily is rude to you/your oc it doesn't mean I am. I think writing an Isekaied version of myself and the problems/dynamics it has is super fun and interesting. Lily has a third person perspective on Teyvat and knows more about it, due to being a 'reader' Diluc meanwhile lives in it. Also Genshin is simply referred to as /the story/ since it gets too idk I just like it like that lol
- I do full literate roleplays in DMs Only, I have the right to decline, say I'm too busy etc (although.. this is rare for me) I can do OC's or as previously mentioned. I find it super weird to have anyone share my writing where anyone could see the roleplay/full roleplay. I do prefer to roleplay on discord if its a full literate roleplay.
- do not be scarred to talk to me PLEASE.. i am begging for people to interact with 😭
-NO NSFW, I do not mind jokes but I keep that strictly to my friends (my mutuals are friends) if we are friends just talk about that casually with me lol
- Proship (yes that includes k/eluc) do not interact, I am adopted myself, my partner is chinese, we know Kaeya is adopted. Please leave me alone and stop making weird comments about my family origin and adoption as a whole. I will block you. If you're blocked on my main blog, I'm not going to respond to you here either. Didn't read all this? PROSHIP DNI
-important tags include (will update as needed):
#diluc #kaeya #claret #lily #beatrice #character intro #au #noncanon #ooc #ask #bloginfo
Tags are in the bottom of this post for easily finding it

Hi! How do you think the yotsu's would react if they had a child? What kind of parents would they be?( Let's not focus on the circumstances that led to the child)
hi! thank you for the ask!
i'll start with hatori and takahashi since they already have kids. i think they're both good fathers! my headcanon is that hatori has a daughter and a son, and takahashi has a daughter. i think both of them always wanted to have kids are were pretty overjoyed when they found out.
we know that hatori's the product of an affair the company president had, and i don't think his dad was very involved with him as a kid. because of that, i think hatori tries really hard to be as present as he can for his kids. he's very affectionate and supportive. his kids are really the most important thing in the world to him.
takahashi is also an affectionate father. i think he's a little more awkward sometimes just because he isn't as good at communicating as hatori, but he cares a lot.
putting the rest under the cut!
there's like... a scale of how decent i think the other six yotsubas would be as parents. i don't think any of them particularly want kids in canon - especially kida, otherwise he'd probably have them already considering he's married. since we're not focusing on the circumstances, though, i'm not going to talk too much about the different ways they might respond to like... surprise pregnancies or that sort of thing. the assumption is that they're all, in these scenarios, married and intentionally have a kid with their spouse (whether the kid is theirs biologically or they adopt doesn't matter) when they're a little older than they are in canon.
shimura and ooi would be the best, i think. shimura, similarly to hatori, didn't have a real father figure as a kid, and i think he'd be hyper-aware of all the ways he could fuck up. the entire prospect of fatherhood stresses him out, like, a lot, but i think he really cares. he'd want to give his child the love and support he didn't really get as a kid. (also, as a side note, a friend of mine has a "shimura has a daughter" AU! so, if you're interested in this, consider checking out their blog. all the posts after the top two are about that AU as of writing this, so it shouldn't be difficult to find!)
ooi is kind of the opposite of shimura here, but not in a bad way. my headcanon is that his father passed away when he was a kid and his mother remarried, and while he had/has positive relationships with both of them, there's this sort of bittersweet feeling attached to it. he wants to be the kind of father who would have made his own father proud, but he's also very self-assured and feels very strongly that he's parenting the right way, unlike shimura; he just isn't prone to self-doubt in general. i think ooi would be very good at providing guidance and support to his kid, but he'd also be stern about certain things.
(i will note, though, that i think ooi is the least likely to actually have a kid. he's the oldest of the bunch, and i think if he had wanted to settle down, he would have. i think he's happier just doing his own thing and having casual relationships.)
kida and mido are similar in my mind in that i think they'd both just kind of go through the motions. they know what's expected of parents, and they'd try to fulfill those expectations, but i think they'd both be distant. they were both parented very strictly as children and held to high standards, and i think kida in particular would reflect that on his own child. mido is more aware that her parents' way of raising her didn't do her any favors, so she'd try to be more lax, but i think she might just end up being a little too hands-off. they'd both care to some degree, but i think their kids might end up resenting them, especially as teenagers.
for some reason, though, the idea of mido having kids is really dreary to me... i just can't imagine her doing it for any reason other than "well, society says i'm supposed to do this now" and she'd probably end up miserable. not that mido isn't already a bit miserable.
higuchi is... a mixed bag... i know i said i wasn't going to focus on the circumstances, but i think it depends on who he's married to in this scenario. if this is a "rich guy marries young attractive model for her looks and she's only after his money" sort of deal (because higuchi is the only one of them i can really imagine doing that), he honestly just. would not raise that kid. it would be all be up to some nannies and maybe his wife, especially in the first few years. i do think he'd want to uphold all the old fatherly tropes, though... he wants to give life advice and play catch at the park maybe once a month, he just doesn't want to do all the dirty work.
if he's married to someone he really cares about and actually has a loving marriage, i could imagine this going differently. i like the idea of higuchi having, like... a redemption arc of sorts. you know, that sort of typical villain thing where they have a kid and then start raising them and are like... "why do i want to protect this child? why do i feel so emotional? what is this feeling..." i think it'd be a cute scenario for higuchi. a real "the kid raises you" sort of thing. in a case like that, i think he'd end up being a decent dad, he'd just have a lot to figure out. he was never close to his dad, so he's sort of flying blind. he'd definitely make some fuck-ups along the way, but i think he could be good at it in the end. they'd definitely have a rough patch when the kid is a teenager, though. i think a part of higuchi will always want to be a Cool Rebel despite being a rich kid all his life, and i think as his kid hits that Rebellious Phase, he'd start to realize that he's become The Authority Figure and have a mid-life crisis over it.
namikawa would be the world's first transgender absentee father!

I think another aspect of this discussion is recognizing that racism as a form of oppression often involves an imbalance of power and a contextualization of that. Like, the dominant white culture whitewashing poc in America is bad because that imbalance of power makes it harmful. (Especially in a historical context) It strips representation and credit from a marginalized group. It keeps the power in the dominant social group.
Somebody making edits of anime characters so they're Latino or black or making aus where the characters are not strictly Japanese is not going to be on the same level because at the end of the day, they are canonically Japanese. (It might be upsetting to orhers absolutey but it isn't going to rewrite canon)
Headcanons like that will never erase the fact that these characters are Japanese outside of niche circles of fan spaces that use or prefer those headcanons. Official art and merch isn't gonna magically change because people headcanon Mina as black or blasian.
Headcanons are simply how one person (in their head) chooses to interact with, transform, or interpret a piece of media. They don't have the power to actually change it.
We should also recognize that the argument against these headcanons is often used to exclude or antagonize non white anime fans. Not saying that's what rhe anons here are doing but these discussions do get used to cause harm and hurt people and its just something to keep in mind like I hope ur not getting shitty anons over this.
I recently read +this & I think it's an interesting read wrt 'who can be racist'. but idk to me, at the end of the day, it all boils down to erasing the character's race and replacing it w another, and whilst which race is being erased/added affects the severity/spread of harm caused, it ultimately doesn't matter bc harm is caused either way, no matter what those races are, since the act of erasure itself is harmful. and i know I only asked abt anime edits but i think this topic does lead to a wider conversation of where to create a boundary, if any. like there's a laundry list of representation/race/etc issues between 'anime edits' and 'whitewashing', so where do we draw the line between what's acceptable and harmful? just some food for thought I guess.
also I'm not sure what you mean by "the argument against these headcanons is often used to exclude or antagonize non white anime fans." which argument are you talking about & how does it exclude/antagonise them if you don't mind expanding?

I'll be honest about Annilis, I love him and his sympathetic background AS well as his awful approach to keeping Hec-tor safe, because he's probably in some legitimate danger but he took it too far. I love HP, but I also wanna beat his ass too. Just grab him by the ears and yell, "What are you doing you idiot sandwich?!" I just wanna ask him "Are you even happy? And no getting pegged by a Shade isn't happiness." Don't want him to die though, only because it's a cop-out for actual punishment.1/2
2/2 That's what kinda bummed me on HP in-show, he did so much horrible shit, was an arrogant living "God", and he was just killed? That easy? HP's hubris was grotesque and he deserved a worse punishment than just a lightshow to the face. HP was also a non character in the end and whatever characterization he did have was lost quickly, gonna admit. But, an arrogant jerk dying that quickly is too easy a punishment, he has to suffer the consequences of his actions and experience his loss in detail.
sorry I'm sending you so many asks about HP. But dear God did the show drop the ball on Horde "supposedly endgame villain who was woefully underutilized until the last minute and even then was handed the villain ball to make sure what credibility he did have was lost" Prime. Could have been great, his story was there, but Crew-ra wasted time on frivolous characters(star siblings might have been cool but s5 needed to work on its existing characters, not introduce new ones)and wasted plot points.
I actually have done a ton of analysis on why prime just doesn’t work as a villain for pretty much six months now. Like I started doing this pretty much the day that the finale dropped cause I never liked S5 at all. There’s just much wrong with it, strictly from a narrative prospective than I cannot get over it, which I why I’ve kind of retreated into doing Fuck Canon aus. And I don’t think the major problems plaguing prime is that he’s a bad person or a cult leader or whatever, that would be fine. This is a matter of set up and pay off. This is a matter of narrative structure. Those are my major problems with everything about this.
Anyway, I guess we’ll try a flaccid attempt at positivity, just to make it clear that I am not coming strictly from a point of view of hate… the one thing I remember liking about prime is that creepy dinner scene. Loved that scene, I was so giddy when they dropped it as a teaser clip, and I got to enjoy it in peace for like a day and a half before my love for the show went crumbling. Prime is absolutely on his game in that scene, I can very clearly see his mind working, because my interpretation of the scene is that he’s trying to bait glimmer into giving him information. Did he actually intend to harm adora? Who knows! Does it matter? Not really, considering he got the information he wanted, which was what was needed to work the heart. I can feel the tension in that scene, that is how he should have been for the rest of the season.
So what the fuck happened? *cracks knuckles* well let’s see shall we.
Foreshadowing It’s Fun Cause It’s A Thing I’ve Heard Of
So I think we all remember just how shocking it was when prime actually showed up, and he wasn’t anything like we’d all come to assume he’d be based on what had been said about him up until that point. What we had been fed was essentially that he was cold, calculating, and didn’t look upon “defects” well. He saw the clones as disposable. And they set up that aspect of his character just fine, and I don’t have a problem with how that was set up.
What they utterly failed to properly set up (and even contradicted themselves on) was the cult thing, and how prime is essentially this messiah figure to the clones. I highly suspect this occurred because they were writing the show as they went along, and hadn’t fully fleshed out prime’s whole deal until he actually appeared at the end of S4, but that’s just my own speculation given some of the things that had been said in interviews regarding other aspects of the writing (namely that micah was apparently not supposed to be alive in the first place and that happened because of a miscommunication between noelle and one of the other writers).
Regardless, there are a number of things that should probably have been done differently in order to properly foreshadow prime’s cult leader status, that actually would have heightened hordak’s characterization as well. For one thing, there’s a reason we all assumed that the galactic horde was merely a military program and it’s because of how hordak acts throughout the first four seasons. We can talk in circles about headcanons until we’re blue in the face (i.e., he might have memory problems), but the fact of the matter is that those are headcanons and that hordak’s entire narrative changes from one of an ableist family to one of a religious trauma seemingly on a dime come the very end of S4 when prime shows up.
imagine how satisfying the foreshadowing would have been if hordak had actually been spouting dogma the entire show (i.e., “cast out the shadows” and “all beings must suffer to become pure”) only for it peter off once he’s befriended entrapta, if he had been calling those who he respected brother/sister instead of force captains (which is a far more militarized word to use, and judging by the galactic horde isn’t even a term they use), if he had still been dressed in his uniform and only actually started dressing differently after entrapta had helped him? Hell, he never even so much as implies that entrapta is leading him astray before he’s back with prime, he doesn’t even seem particularly distressed about being around her most of the time, and the only reason he even gets persnickety with her is because of his medical condition.
One point I’m going to expand on for a moment is the whole “brother” thing, because that is actually a very good way of explaining what I mean. Now, hordak doesn’t actually mention any other clones at all from what I remember. This is contrary to all of the clones in S5 referring to each other as “brother” pretty openly and it being seen as a term of respect. However, the only person that hordak actually calls “brother” up until S5 is prime, and this inadvertently ended up making the word seem far more neutral than it should have been considering the context of S5. The word “brother” is actually a control tool, and if they had wanted to establish that sooner, hordak should have been calling anybody he respected that.
So, either the writers hadn’t actually thought of that part of the narrative yet, or they’re just that bad at foreshadowing.
There are also three instances of the narrative contradicting itself with regards to prime, one in S3, one in S4, and one in S5. The first is that hordak wanted to make a new body for himself. While one could argue that this was meant to be foreshadowing that prime takes new bodies whenever his old one failed (which is fine, that works as foreshadowing), the act of hordak admitting that he was intending to do that is what actually creates the snag. With the context of S5, we learn that becoming a vessel is meant to be a place of honor, but this comes with the caveat that it seems like only prime is allowed to take new bodies. So why the ever living fuck would someone as “pious” and “unworthy” as hordak think that was something he could ever be allowed to do, much less that prime would welcome him back with open arms if he did it. But there’s zero hesitation on hordak’s part, he doesn’t even mention that this is something usually only reserved for prime.
The second is that prime literally looked at the heart of etheria and said it was “unlike anything [he had] ever seen” despite canonically fighting the first ones, so he’d presumably have recognized the energy signature that first one’s tech gives off and be like Oh Shit. This one in particular drives me absolutely nuts because if I was writing a villain who had lived long enough to fight the people this mystical weapon was created by I would never write them saying that what the actual fuck. My gripe here is not that prime is ancient, that’s fine, I could’ve vibed with that. But the fact that he not only fought the first ones but also recognized mara is really egregious in a way that borders on parody for me. Like what a flimsy excuse for him to be connected to adora (and we’ll get to that!)
The third and final one is that hordak was allegedly thrown out for his defects. That’s what we were told, that’s what a major facet of hordak’s trauma is centered around. However, at the same times, prime seems like… oddly fixated on hordak in a way that usually implies something deeper is going on here. That was why I was so convinced that hordak wasn’t remembering something clearly, because why would prime spare him instead of killing him immediately after returning if he was defective enough to warrant being thrown out? Come S5, prime seems to have forgotten about the pesky little plot detail that is hordak’s defects, since they never come up again! Nope! Hordak is not only completely healed of his ailments (which Can I Get A Yikes?) but he’s also been welcomed back to his original position as prime’s right hand by the mid-point of the season, and he stays there until the finale unless the plot demands he be elsewhere to interact with entrapta cause hordak was added in post. You can’t even argue that he was keeping hordak alive because eThErIaN kNoWlEdGe because he has those fucking mind chips. Literally every single person he’s chipped is connected to the hivemind because of that. He’d have every single bit of knowledge that he could possibly want right there at his fingertips. He doesn’t need hordak alive at all.
Which brings us to…
It’s Almost Like He Wasn’t A Villain To The Proper People
The thing about villains is that, in order for them to not feel out of place, in order for their defeat to actually give a true feeling of satisfaction, you kind of have to put them up against the right people. The reason that prime ultimately fails in this respect is that he is not adora and catra’s villain, despite the narrative pushing him as that…
I actually once joked on twitter that if the rise of skywalker had come out when S5 was being written, then prime would have likely ended up being revealed as adora’s long lost grandfather in some attempt to make his fixation on her seem warranted. That’s the level we’re at in terms of how connected the two of them appear to be for the villain and hero thing. They just are not connected, and prime has absolutely no reason to be this fixated on her. They tried to explain it with she ra and prime being old enemies, but that’s equally as confusing because a) mara hadn’t mentioned him up until that point, b) this inclusion actually makes the first ones creating a superweapon look justified since prime is such a huge threat, and c) she ra is explicitly stated to have been on etheria long before the first ones even colonized it, so why the fuck is she just gallivanting around the cosmos fighting cult leaders?
And to be clear, if this whole prime versus she ra had actually been hinted at, I would not be taking so much issue with this. But as there was absolutely zero mention of him, it just comes off as egregious and very, very sloppy on their parts.
Prime also should not be as fixated on catra as he is, that doesn’t make sense at all. I know why this happened in particular, though, and it’s because the writing team was so in love with her that they just had to give her this arc. That just makes its inclusion all the worse to be honest. Why does he go to such great lengths to use catra to torture adora, why does he go into a total breakdown after catra escapes? He isn’t connected to either of them…
… because he is hordak and entrapta’s villain.
that prime didn’t immediately want entrapta dead continues to confuse me to this day, nearly seven months after the fact. Like you mean to tell me that this cult leader, who is presumably used to complete obedience from his followers, finds one of the wayward members of his proverbial flock lost on some backwater, who didn’t want to be found, and he knows exactly who is responsible for sewing those seeds of discord in this poor lamb’s head. And he doesn’t immediately want entrapta dead?
Not only does prime never mention her, despite it being very easy to push a plotline about how it’s necessary because she’s perceived as a danger to the rest, and especially to the poor lost soul who was ultimately returned to him. Instead, prime just doesn’t seem to realize entrapta exists. He doesn’t know who she is despite literally reading hordak’s mind. He doesn’t even seem to interpret her as threat considering he wasn’t worried about putting her and hordak right next to each other in the finale. He should have been using hordak to torture entrapta, and he should have had his break because hordak escaped him. That whole scene where catra is under mind control and adora was trying to snap her out of it was textbook entrapdak. Hordak should have been the one to delve into the hivemind to help adora. It was his story and it was taken from him when he was sacrificed on catra’s narrative arc altar.
And this is ultimately completely fixable. Because they had a villain they could have been using for adora and catra the whole time. Shadow Weaver. Y’know, their mutual abuser who was the main cause of strife between the two of them, and the person who kind of set the plot in motion since she’s the reason catra is the way that she is?
He Blew It. Super Hard. Complete Buffoonery.
Ultimately one of the biggest writing fumbles with prime is that he is just really fucking dumb as the plot demands, and it doesn’t make any kind of narrative sense for him to be that way, it is literally just him being at the mercy of the writers who need him to do something stupid so they can push the plot forward since they made him too overpowered for it to happen any other way.
There’s numerous instances of this across the season, including him bringing entrapta aboard the velvet glove when the very person he would have had very good reason to not let her near is standing right there, and him deciding to give catra pretty much free reign of the velvet glove and seeming to decide to trust her despite him knowing damn well that she’s likely to betray him the second he does something she doesn’t like, and the time he literally left adora to be beaten by catra instead of just killing her outright when she couldn’t even activate she ra. And in all these cases he had the fucking nerve to seem surprised when it happened?
However, there is one plot point that I feel illustrates how goddamn stupid he is to move the plot forward, and it’s the mind chips.
I mean one of the reasons I dislike it is going back to how little foreshadowing the writers actually seem capable of committing to. There is nothing to indicate in the narrative that prime actually employs mind control on anybody besides the clones, and this becomes especially egregious when we later meet the star siblings, and we find out that there are large swathes of the universe that are seemingly not chipped? It just screams like they needed some type of angst plot point for catra, so they had to find a way to make it work.
But the very inclusion of the mind chips as a plot point makes prime look so ridiculously dumb, because we are told those chips connect people to the hivemind, we are explicitly shown this for catra angst. So a) why does he need hordak around at all, because the excuse he needs to know about etheria doesn’t work since he literally chips like half of the etherian population later on anyway, b) if he needed information on the heart of etheria, why didn’t he just chip glimmer outright, it would have saved him a lot of time and hassle, and c) if he knew damn well that catra had betrayed hordak numerous times and was likely to do the same to him, why didn’t he just immediately chip her so he could mitigate two problems. If he had chipped catra immediately, he wouldn’t have lost glimmer, and it would have been next to impossible for adora and bow to storm the velvet glove through the means that they did.
When your main villain is that fucking stupid, the tension is completely sapped out of your narrative, and prime doesn’t have enough character unto himself to continue holding up his own arc. He is a sexy lamp cardboard cutout that just happens to be brought onto the scene when they were in need of someone to throw the idiot ball at. Prime is supposed to be this thousand year old body hopper who has the wisdom of the ages, and yet he was defeat by a group of teenagers driving a clown card held together by nothing but duct tape and prayers.
Anyway!
Guess Who Just Got Murdered!
Anon, I completely agree that the way prime got taken out was just… hm. Well, it was a choice, given how they had written the rest of the season.
I’ve said this before, but I really wish I could actually enjoy hordak yeeting him, but I just don’t feel anything. That scene is a culmination of an arc that never happened because hordak was barely on screen for S5. It feels like we’re missing this whole season-long arc about how hordak managed to break free of prime and was actively working against him, and that scene is the lowest point, right before the greater scope villain is ultimately defeated by the protagonist. Which just furthers my point that prime is really hordak’s villain, because hordak reads more like a protagonist than I think the writers actually intended for him to.
Since you mentioned anillis, I feel the need to comment on him as well, because I do know exactly what happens to him at the end of my au, because I actually planned for his ending from the beginning and built his arc towards that point. The very bare bones spoilers is that he isn’t going to die, because a) he needs to live with the consequences of his actions and b) him dying would affect hec-tor horribly, especially since if anybody had to deal the killing blow it would be hec-tor. And hec-tor doesn’t deserve to be forced to do that. He wants freedom, he doesn’t want his brother dead by his own hand.
So, I completely agree that just killing prime off feels a little… like a cop out? I’m not going to get into a discussion of how he was defeated by the power of (romantic) love because my issue there is not with the trope itself, but ultimately how it was handled, and that also has to do more with my grievances with how catradora was ultimately handled than my grievances with prime. However, him being like… exorcised…
Well it sure does clean up some loose ends that we don’t want to discuss huh?

Eh, fandom is weird.
For context, Misha Collins mentioned both Cas/Dean and Sam/Dean ships in a tweet, and I guess apparently people got offended by the mention of Sam/Dean? He wasn’t even comparing them, just mentioning ships within the fandom in a funny thing about Amazon or something. Like guys, they literally even made fun of Sam/Dean in the show—all the production staff should be pretty aware of all this shipping stuff in fandom.
This, however, does make me question the mindset here about those against incest shipping who do similar things.
Are people offended by incest purely by the premise of having romance between those who are related by blood (which to be fair is the ligeral extent), or is it offensive by having romance with those you just share a related by blood emotional connection [how people feel about/recognize each other] with?
At first, the answer seems to be strictly due to the blood relation. But then....why? And to be clear, the contexts of which people ship these kinds of things aren’t within the problematic contexts of which someone in real life would feel triggered by—we’re simply talking about people finding romantic potential between characters not related by blood but have this relationship regardless. Seeing how consistent people are okay with shipping those who solely have the emotional connection, who emulate the sibling relationship, I feel the real answer seems to be because a fan can’t reconfigure blood related character relationships in their headcanons like they want to without suffering that cognitive dissonance of platonic ≠ romance.
Which, this solely being based on the blood relation, is so....hypocritical?
This is where I start to question people’s logic.
Some people in any fandom have no problem shipping characters who only have the emotional connection of platonic familial relationships, that is, if they’re NOT related by blood. Then it’s good, then it should be "safe" to think about a “brother” being with a “brother” and.....
No wait, I mean two people who "don't" have that relationship.....in my head....
See, usually in both situations [blood related or not] you’d have people ship on the premise that the emotional connection changes. In other words, they wouldn’t view each other as brothers anymore if they were to be in a romantic relationship. Problem solved. Let’s write the fics.
But, for non-blood related shippers, if the real issue here is “don’t have romance with a sibling”, why would it matter whether or not they’re related by blood? To ease your mind if you do want to ship them? Since when has the biological technical really mattered for how people perceive each other and act upon that? Or how we recognize and use these ideas?
That is to say, can two non-blood related characters who have a canonical sibling-like relationship NOT be recognized by a fan? Absolutely if they happened to miss the information, but the understanding of the reality of the relationship should still be had once investigation starts. This all mostly applies to what actually is implemented (or logically implied) between characters, it doesn't necessarily count for non-confirmed emotional connections between characters.
At that point people are just arguing their personal perspectives.
But in a normal situation...how did you get there?
Especially in Supernatural, a show where literally Dean himself talks so much about how “family don’t end with blood”—this is one of the strongest, meaningful themes in the show. Why the hell should someone reconfigure the relationship if what is presented in the context IS a canonical platonic familial relationship in the first place? How’d you even get there if you DON’T recognize a sibling relationship as something with romantic potential?
You’re still shipping brothers for all intent and purpose—as they’re presented and meant to be identified as, something relatable to a real-life perspective and functionality. The issue thus is something that happens quite often in fandom, which is reconfiguring the context of the story and its characters for your own purposes. Which in and of itself isn't so bad, but doing this and then enforcing said reconfiguration onto others is really annoying, straight up.
It reminds me of the bullshit with Sesshomaru and Rin shippers back in the day for the first Inuyasha series—it doesn’t matter if you headcanon Rin as older, how did you even get the idea of shipping them when all that existed is the relationship between an adult and child? You’re shipping an adult Rin with an adult Sesshomaru second, but you’re shipping a child Rin and adult Sesshomaru first, otherwise the thought wouldn’t even occur. Who looks at the relationship between someone who looks like an adult and a literal seven year old and fantasizes about romance blossoming there? Especially when it follows all the patterns of the adult acting as a hogosha (guardian—parent sentiment)?
I don’t...
If what exists in the context is what it is, then that remains the basis of your ship no matter how you reconfigure it in your head. You saw that relationship and shipped it. You either just didn't recognize it or you're purposely ignoring it. But "not recognizing" it is a stretch for a lot of situations, and again, it makes me wonder how on earth you got there. Especially when, the process of shipping it usually includes the praising of the relationship as it is.
I don’t care as much about incest shippers as I would ones that are like, grooming scenarios. The latter severity there is much worse, obviously where contextually there’s no level where the latter isn’t problematic, and I am not by any means comparing the actual crux of these issues. What’s being compared here is the reconfigure shipping logic in the fandom—where the type of cognitive dissonance happening is the same with shippers rationalization for how they ship characters.
Shipping in general—I typically don’t care too much as long as fans aren’t trying to deny what the actual context is in actual discussions. You do you, I guess, that’s what shipping is for.
Which I mean, listen, I get the concentration of “eww, don’t be romantic with someone you share blood with”—I’m not exactly being an advocate here. But for me, my opposition is so much more based on the fundamentals of how we recognize and define those types of relationships to begin with. The romance concept naturally clashes with that of the platonic family relationships—it’s just a conflict of meaning. In which that's the reason you often see people recognizing the inherent platonic nature of sibling-like relationships, thus "they're like a sibling" is often used in real life as a deterrent to any nation of romanticism.
Just like with what Dean says, the above philosophy of recognition doesn’t “end with blood”. I don’t care for seeing incest anymore with people who aren’t actually related by blood because the existing meaning of family for an individual goes WAAY beyond that simplistic factor. Ya’ll know this.
But, apparently don’t care, I guess.
However, I just find this idea of being outraged by blood related incest shippers a bit fallacious when people also actively ship those who have the context of the emotional connection anyway—you know, something that is written and important for the characters, how they feel and perceive each other. Especially when you feel compelled to go after an actor for simply mentioning it, when like, they’re from a show that literally makes fun of the ship in the show. Really? Blood related or not, you’re both just creating headcannons that the way the characters feel about each other changes. You’re the same.
Now, stories that show a conflict with this, like one of the characters explicitly not feeling the same way, or if in the actual context, the deviation of this relationship is made—hell, I’ve read a manga where two people fall in love, but then LATER find out they’re related and have to struggle with the truth and their feelings—those situations are a bit more understandable, especially the latter in how we think about love. Some people find taboo/tragic/complicated relationships compelling, especially in contexts where the problem really is JUST the blood relation. I’m not really about it, but I can understand I suppose given the previous storytelling described above. But like, man, if the context is literally about found family and that is their relationship without any sort of complication......
For non-blood related shippers: Is the aspect of the blood REALLY the thing that bothers you? Or, is it really because only an emotional connection is something you can reconfigure without presenting a conflict for yourself?
If the way we recognize and appreciate familial bonds goes beyond blood, I find it odd that shipping philosophy doesn’t do the same. And then you get mad at others when you’re basically doing the same thing.
I just don’t get it.
Fandom is weird.
Anyone interested in my ramblings, I made a follow up post about recognizing relationships in media and such.

I'm wiriA. Hey. Here's a general introduction.
Yo, I make sentences. (I write!) On rare occasions, I might even connect lines. (Drawing is hard.)
Created this blog for Twisted Wonderland brainrot and the like. It's primarily meant for my own interest in organizing my TWST related thoughts separately from other general ideas I have. More information is under the cut.
About Me: I'm a student. I'm busy IRL. I try to write between deadlines and attempts to catch short intervals of sleep throughout the day, which tends to translate as me being up at odd hours. Consistent posting here is not my priority, so there's a good chance I'll disappear from this account for extended periods at a time.
About Writing: I'll write headcanons, Yuu-inserts, OCs, ships (with Yuu, OCs, or canon characters), and I'm down for reader-inserts provided that they remain strictly second person without mentioning anything like [Reader] or [Y/N]. The way I feel about it, that sort of thing breaks immersion, and deters me from further reading and writing. I'm open to requests, however please keep in mind that I'm not obligated to fulfill them.
About Art: I draw what I want.
Content Warning: I may get into NSFW at times, though I don't anticipate this happening very often. This is your first (possibly final) warning for stuff like that. I'll try to tag as appropriate, if I'm able to remember. The key word is able.
Feel free to leave any messages (TWST or otherwise) in asks! You can throw requests here too; for my own convenience, if you plan to send a request, please specify it as one. Unless we're friends, I'd rather not talk in private messages.
Riddle's my favorite character and Malleus is the one I find most compelling. Rook grew on me, though I'm certain it has some part to do with him being blond and a sketch where a Japanese fan artist drew of him as a girl with long hair and his hat. In the most nonchalant way possible, that art was life-changing for my TWST experience. It's hard for me to think of Rook in a general sense without the influence of that art. Besides those three, I'm rather fond of most characters in the game, to some degree or another. I wasn't a big fan of Sebek at first, but he grew on me.
I use the tumblr app on mobile; I don't like the website format. Posts may be kinda finicky because of that, so I offer my apologies in advance.
Writing Masterlist: I'll update this as I post more works.
