Danny runs for Mayor
Simple Prompt: Danny runs for the Gotham Mayor position
Extended Prompt: Danny is an absolute little shit throughout his entire campaign but still manages to win because he is legitimately one of the best candidates around
Just imagine the crack that could come from this!
Reporter: What is your stance on Vigilantism? Danny: Well I agree that Vigilantes are helpful for the communities that need them, and they should work with the police at every opportunity, I feel like the idea will always be a city where Vigilantes are not needed. Also I fail to see the relevancy of the question, there are no vigilantes in Gotham Reporter: What do you mean? What about the Bat-Family? Danny: No, Batman isn’t a Vigilante. Batman is a Crime Lord.
Or
Danny: As mayor, I promise that I will not be infected by corruption. Not because of my moral standings, but because I absolutely fucking hate clowns and I will never accept a bribe as long as that guy is still alive. Yes this is me putting a hit out on the Joker. Crime Bosses, if you want to try and bribe me, you gotta kill him first or I won’t even consider it!
Or
Batman: Why is a Meta-Human running for Gotham Office? You know this city doesn’t have a very good track record with people like you. Even the Signal had a rough start. Danny: Well, I just had a strong compulsion to help this city reach the peak of it’s potential *looks over Batman’s shoulder to see Lady Gotham holding up Cue Cards telling him what to say. She promised to help with his paperwork for the next 50 years if he became Mayor and helped fix her city* Danny: Such a strong compulsion...
Or
Penguin: Look kid, I don’t care if you have enough power to destroy me at the subatomic level, I have enough money to ruin you, your sister, your parents, even your uncle! Danny: Oh really? I could get the souls of every person you have ever killed to get confessions out of them. Or I could give them the power to rip you apart. Or I could even just possess you and donate all your money to charity.
Or
Danny: Oh god dammit! Vlad: Hello Badger! Glad to see you followed in my footsteps instead of your fathers! Danny: This wasn’t because of you! Lady Gotham asked for help! Vlad: A WIN IS A WIN!

One thing I like about how dunmeshi handled Falin is that imo her subordination is not eroticized (as such). To me, she has more of an alien, loose-horse thing going on—sure she’s bound to the will of the dungeon lord, but what that looks like is that she’s mentally closed off, underutilized because he’s insane, and has developed hostile priorities. Like idk it would bother me to look at if she were constantly languishing around, suffering, an image of power restrained. Instead she’s like, busy. She’s got things to do. Her mind’s no longer her own, but she is here on business.
Like, her manager is an idiot but she is trying to deal with it; her subordination is like… familiar… her struggles are not languid miserable restrained anime woman struggles, her struggles are with trying to meet workplace expectations. Her monstrous new form is eroticized for other reasons.

I have to give props to Chuuya. The fact that this man has canonically lost three whole friend groups (The Sheep through betrayal, the Flags to Verlaine, and those killed by Shibusawa during the Dragon Head Conflict) throughout a 3-year period, then loses his partner (Dazai) and has no idea where he is or if he's alive for 3-4 years...
You have to admire his mental fortitude, because he's relatively well adjusted for how much shit he's been through. (Not even counting his status as a government experiment and his existential crisis on whether he's human or not.)

yooo it's the factory bots, i've never drawn these guys before so it was fun coming up with my take on them! i thought it would be cool to give them consistent differences in design based on how new/old they're implied to be: inspector and melter having ball joints and complex fingers, they're always being scrapped and rebuilt and have more involved tasks, versus the dredger being a bit closer to p03 in design since he's older and crustier (they all get the hover tech though, i feel like that was a factory-wide retrofit lol)
also jimmy is here! idk i think it's funny if he's just kind of around lmao

Dazai abusing his power as an executive in the PM through childish means like:
Refusing to do work he deems boring so he orders a subordinate to do it
Hiding in his office when he just wants to be alone or wants to sneak in a power nap, and even furnishes it with a really nice executive chair and couch and keeps a blanket or two lying around
Subordinates will randomly be unable to reach him because he'd be out with Oda and Ango or he'd see the caller ID, automatically know what a subordinate wants, and conveniently pretends to be very busy
Every time Dazai ruins his suit while out working he has someone ready to fetch him a new set of clothes at any given moment
Staring off into space during executive meetings as Mori drones on, his eyes glazing over until an assistant goes around handing drinks out.
Taking calls while in his office and putting people on hold for really long times unless it's an emergency just because
Calling someone into his office under the guise of an emergency, and he makes them go on a tea and snack run because he's been stuck in his office doing paperwork and needs brain fuel
Goes on bandage runs to the store while on the clock and on Mori's dime

first of all, i COMPLETELY understand why the two reptiles and sleep beauty are terrified of him because if that's the same man that would put a bottle or a mug near my lips i wouldn't hesitate to even drink like a 60-year old man reading the morning newspaper.
like look at the first pic this way, him cradling baby silver when he found him. i would immediately stfu with my pathetic ass cries like i'm sorry i cried in your oxygen sir i will not do it again.
second, if his groovy also has the same smirk – if not as menacing – as his lab coat while beating up someone's ass i would become a pebble. like how did baby mal burn THAT man's bangs. HOW did his 3-hours old burn those bangs while he's staring down at him like THAT.
your majesty maleficia i think we need to TALK.

On my list of things it would be fun to see expanded on in fic is also: Wen Ning's subordinates.
They followed him to Lotus Pier when he went running of his own volition in hopes of helping Wei Wuxian; helped him get Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian out and smuggle them into Yiling despite this being highly treasonous. (Cql decided to remove this and replace it with Wen Ning poisoning everybody, which was very funny and probably the right choice for the adaptation. But still.)
Were still with him, presumably less some fatalities, after the war, when Jin Zixun pressganged the lot and they wound up at Qiongqi Pass.
We can fairly confidently presume the survivors of that made up a solid fraction of the escapees who followed Wei Wuxian out, when the Jiang's nightmare necromancer took their gongzi's corpse and unconscious sister and the baby, and rode hell for leather.
All Wen Qing says about this group is that they're all yes-men like Wen Ning, and if Wei Wuxian got to know any of them at all during the Burial Mounds period, it doesn't make it into the book.
So we have the information that Wen Ning, who was after all fairly high-ranking by heredity being the child of the sect leader's first cousin, even if his personal rank was relatively low due to lack of accomplishments, had surrounded himself with nice people who were personally loyal to him.
He was not a loner! He had very possibly the most access to the company of people who liked him of anybody in the book! He was anxious and bullied by his higher-ranking cousins and insecure but he wasn't alone.
Idk I'm personally curious about these people and how they interpreted everything that happened, and what kind of relationship Wen Ning had with them, and if in another storyline any of them might have done anything interesting.
Wen Ning, too, is one of the cast members who could absolutely have held up a whole novel on his own. Well. With a lot of backup from Wen Qing, anyway. He'd be a perfectly serviceable protagonist, and I appreciate that.
