oh my gosh! thank you!! i really love character interactions and relationship dynamics, so i wanted to depict two girls who seemed like opposites - one cool and laid-back, the other soft and sweet. after a while they started to take on a life of their own, and i thought it'd be wonderful if their story could evoke the feeling of a shoujo romance!

i had a lot of things on my mind when i wrote the script... friendship, intimacy, communication... communication can be so hard! sometimes it's harder with someone you're close to because their opinion is so important to you. and what happens when you've got a character who's non-confrontational and has low self-esteem + someone who prefers actions over words, and would rather burn bridges than admit to feeling vulnerable? how would they get past that? i wanted to write their flaws as believable, and how their life experiences have shaped the way they think about themselves / the way they respond to personal conflict... but also how they learn from each other and grow ❤️ tysm for the question!!

thank you both so much!!!! <3 a sequel is actually one of the ideas i pitched for my second book! my editor cautioned against it in case IYHM didn't perform well, so i ended up going in a different direction - but my fingers are crossed for future opportunities 😤 realistically, it will probably depend on sales... but for the record, i'd want to do one regardless of the numbers...

i have one more book coming out, which i'm working on right now! the timeline is a bit up in the air atm but i'll try to keep everyone posted. making a book is so slow but i'm so grateful to you all for waiting 🥺💛

You were having too much fun. Way too much fun. It was a weekday and you had to be awake in the coming hours, but you didn't care.

The DJ was showing out and your friends were live. Running into your crush and his crew was the icing on the perfect cake that was your night so far.

Eventually, you found yourself nearly alone with Fontaine as you both leaned up against the way to avoid the surge of the dance crowd. Ever the gentleman, Fontaine let you take the corner as you finished the last sips of your final drink.

A drink that had you staring hard at Fontaine's face in the low lighting. Hard enough the man noticed and nudged you enough to break his unintentional spell.

"What's got you thinking so hard in this loud ass club?"

"Don' be mad at me, but you need some of this." You giggled, swaying a bit from the tequila you've been drinking as you stared at Fontaine's mouth.

"Lemme get some, then. "

You looked up at Fontaine in surprise, following his nod to the small tin of Carmex still in your hand.

He had one hand in his pocket, the other held a plastic red cup. He stepped closer, ducking his head down accommodate you.

Keeping your hand as steady as you could, you rubbed enough balm onto your middle finger before spreading it across Fontaine's bottom lip.

Warm and full, the feeling of it went straight through you. Distantly you remembered how wild this was to do in public, but then realized you didn't care 'bout all that.

It was just you and those beautiful lips. It would have been crime to let them go crusty...

You intended to keep your stare to your finger, but you couldn't resist glancing up.

Fontaine's eyes were dark his brows nearly pinched together as he watched you. You rubbed the remnants of lip-balm to his upper lip and when you went to move your hand away, his shot up to keep hold.

Fontaine rubbed his lips together, drawing your stare again. You felt like flying apart from your desire, you wanted to offer everything, you wanted him to understand.

'Calm down. Calmdowncalmdooown.'

He put his cup down and took yours as well as you stood pinned by his gaze. Then those wide, beautiful hands were cupping your face. The smell of warm cinnamon filled your senses, before he pressed a gentle kiss to your lips.

A hum slipped from you and you shifted closer, one of his hands going to your waist.

More. More, more more...

"How much more?" He pulled back and asked, "Tell me what you want."

You blinked, too greedy to be embarrassed that you slipped up on your thoughts.

"I want everything. I want you to know I like you wanting me and I want you too," you couldn't stop talking, "I-I want you to know I like you. Do you know that I like you? I...should say that."

Fontaine crowded you up against the wall, grin going all promising and smoky.

"I like you too. Like-like you, even. I thought you knew that."

"I wasn't sure, I didn't want to assume..."

Fontaine cupped your face and pressed his smiling lips against yours, once and once more before speaking into your ear,

"You mind if I make it a bit more clear for you, baby?"

You grinned up at the ceiling and thanked whatever deities were looking out for you. Then, you wrapped an arm around Fontaine's neck as your free hand tugged him closer by his hoodie pocket.

"Y'know what, 'Taine? I don't mind one bit..."

I dream of making a heartwarming comic retelling the entirety of Explorers of Sky someday. Special episodes included. And maybe even focus on things you don't see in-game, such as Partner's life way before joining the team. I'd like to keep it as close to canon as possible to make it relatable to everyone though!

But I still want to practice more before that... I need to find a great art style for it... and also learn how to draw Mudkip, since that's been my greatest struggle all my life lol (I already tried making a Explorers comic when I was very little but I just couldn't get Mudkip right haha, that creature has such a difficult head!!)

I'm still cool with just making illustrations of some key scenes though, I follow a couple of wonderful artists who have done that already (Maplecometpunch and Hakkentai !!!) and I absolutely loved it. And I also want to make artworks/comics for the rest of the series too: in fact that's exactly what I'm planning to continue doing with PSMD

It's just that, you know... Explorers has a really warm spot in my heart, and if I'm going to pay my tributes to it somehow I want to do it right. So I'll work hard to make that dream come true! ✨💖
