Hello, I saw your all for you AU and I was wondering how smart tails is gonna be in the AU? Does sonic have nuclear bomb blueprints made of crayon on the fridge?
Something like that, but more like planes that can shoot missiles(he's obbessed with air crafts). As for his level of smarts - Tails is very gifted with growing intelligence. He may not know everything now but he's got a curious mind that is ready to learn anything and everything. He's still very young so he doesn't have the exact smarts as modern Tails does, but still more than any 4 year old should. He's also smart enough that when he is tagging a long with Sonic to a tutoring session, the young fox will grasp the topic faster than Sonic
Oh and he can talk in complete sentences, with the occasional pronunciation struggle, but he could read like 4-5th grade level(he still prefers to be read to though).
He is still a toddler and believes in Santa and the tooth fairy, so kinda maybe imagine boss baby but replace the seriousness businessmen with a more toddler like inventor genius.
I hope that answers ur question and even gives ya more info on him!

I’m sorry but nobody can convince me that Rui’s autistic ass doesn’t infodump about sea creatures. Can I explain why? Absolutely not. I have no evidence for even thinking he likes them aside from his jellyfish themed card and his favorite animal being a platypus. But in my mind it is completely canon that Rui has sea creatures as a special interest, along with technology and engineering ofc. BUT TAKE THIS MAN TO AN AQUARIUM AND HE WILL BE IN HEAVEN. I’M NOT SURE WHAT JUST POSSESSED ME TO WRITE THIS BUT I REALLY JUST NEEDED TO SHARE. OKAY I LOVE YOU BYE-

Thinkingggg about a Reader who gets kidnapped by König but can’t be arsed to care all that much because a) he’s incredibly hot and b) her living situation was genuinely really really bad. Like to the point that when she tells him about it, it distresses him to know that his pretty thing had to live like that.
Konig being in a "Bitch, you live like this" situation with his pretty darling. He was actually fucking horrified when he first got to your place - he had seen war prisoner cells that looked better and torture chambers with much cozier setups. He also doesn't think that having three roommates who all look like they take and sell meth mixed with dish cleaner is a good environment for his darling wife. He is glad he took you away before something bad could happen - he is glad that the only thing you wanted from that rancid apartment of yours were some personal things that can be easily cleaned and given to you. He will get rid of them eventually, not wanting anything to remind you of your old, pathetic life - but he can indulge you for now since you're being such a good girl for him. You don't fight, you don't resist - you might be a little bit bored with sitting in his house the whole day, but he brings you plenty of enrichment. Games, books, whatever you want - he doesn't mind giving you limited internet access in terms of online shopping, as long as you're under his supervision and don't try to call the police. You don't ever try to escape, which worries him at first - while he is glad you're such a good sport about being kidnapped and dragged into his house where he barely even cleaned up his gans enough to make you a nice little play area, Konig is also worried, that this is all just an act, a ploy to make him trust you and then easily running away. But, then again - you're too fucking adorable to do this, you pretty thing. God, he fucking loves you. He needs to have you as his doll, adorable darling, but he is too weak and pathetic even to try to run anywhere he can't find you. You can try and resist him, of course, but he will always find you in the end - would always force his cock into you, always makes you put up at least a little fight so sex won't get too boring.

you are the first person ive encountered in my whole life who has actually attempted to really answer some of the more aggravating questions surrounding children and sex and just reading some of your recent posts has already enlightened me to my childhood situation a lot better. i will try to keep this brief bc my intent is not to air my whole childhood to the masses but to like. present a sort of spiders georg situation to help people understand why these things are important. here we go: (it is relevent to point out that i am extremely autistic and started presenting symptoms from two years of age onward.) i believe that i started being sexually active around four or five years old. i was extremely curious about sex to such a degree that it got me in trouble at school multiple times. it disturbed my mom greatly how often i brought up sexual topics. i discovered porn at the age of eight due to very poor parental supervision and a high level of internet access and i was immediately obsessed. i can confidently say that i watched more porn than any other kind of media as a child. by the time i was 10 id already had dozens of sexual encounters with kids my age and older, mostly initiated by me. i agree now that children cannot consent to sex with adults, but it took me a long time to come to that conclusion. for a very long time i wished more than anything for an adult who knew the ins and outs of sex to have a sexual relationship with me, bc i saw it as the only way i could be satisfied. children do not make good sexual partners when you are essentially ahead of the sexual curve i guess. i received absolutely no sex education until i reached middle school. my parents didnt talk to me about it whatsoever, deflecting everything i said about the subject. the sex education i did receive was piss poor, and i knew it. it was an "abstinence only" model of sex ed. no one took it seriously. my lack of understanding came back to bite me severely in high school. nowadays i understand concepts like consent and boundaries very well, and i think about these subjects deeply and am careful to consider them when interacting with other people. this was not the case in high school. my unusual sexual obsessions in childhood made me very uncautious about it with other people, and my level of autonomy and power was high enough that abuse was extremely possible. i am not proud to say that i did in fact commit sexual abuse in high school. i knew it was wrong. but to me, the wrongness was on the level of severity of stealing a pack of gum from the store. as soon as i had done it, i started to understand the true level of severity of what id done, and that still haunts me. i had up to that point believed that everyone must on some level have an interest in and desire for sex. i would have been ok with someone doing what i did to me, so it would surely be fine if i did it to someone else. i had no real conception of sexual violence and sexual coercion being real things that affected people deeply, both due to my physical and social isolation and extremely skewed perspective from watching porn for years. nowadays, i have very little sex, both because of lack of percieved opportunity, lack of motivation, and fear of committing the same transgressions i did in the past. nevertheless i remain extremely interested in and obsessed with sex, and wish i could spend all day having it. so i guess as someone who was sexually precocious: your kids need to know about sex. they need to be educated about it. a sufficiently determined child will find out about it regardless, and you need to give them the tools necessary to navigate it without hurting themselves and others. and additionally i think it would be a lot better for trans girls if our first exposure to transfemininity wasnt porn the majority of the time.
💯 thank you anon ♥️

AI is a WMD
Tumblr media
I'm in TARTU, ESTONIA! AI, copyright and creative workers' labor rights (TOMORROW, May 10, 8AM: Science Fiction Research Association talk, Institute of Foreign Languages and Cultures building, Lossi 3, lobby). A talk for hackers on seizing the means of computation (TOMORROW, May 10, 3PM, University of Tartu Delta Centre, Narva 18, room 1037).
Tumblr media
Fun fact: "The Tragedy Of the Commons" is a hoax created by the white nationalist Garrett Hardin to justify stealing land from colonized people and moving it from collective ownership, "rescuing" it from the inevitable tragedy by putting it in the hands of a private owner, who will care for it properly, thanks to "rational self-interest":
https://pluralistic.net/2023/05/04/analytical-democratic-theory/#epistocratic-delusions
Get that? If control over a key resource is diffused among the people who rely on it, then (Garrett claims) those people will all behave like selfish assholes, overusing and undermaintaining the commons. It's only when we let someone own that commons and charge rent for its use that (Hardin says) we will get sound management.
By that logic, Google should be the internet's most competent and reliable manager. After all, the company used its access to the capital markets to buy control over the internet, spending billions every year to make sure that you never try a search-engine other than its own, thus guaranteeing it a 90% market share:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/02/21/im-feeling-unlucky/#not-up-to-the-task
Google seems to think it's got the problem of deciding what we see on the internet licked. Otherwise, why would the company flush $80b down the toilet with a giant stock-buyback, and then do multiple waves of mass layoffs, from last year's 12,000 person bloodbath to this year's deep cuts to the company's "core teams"?
https://qz.com/google-is-laying-off-hundreds-as-it-moves-core-jobs-abr-1851449528
And yet, Google is overrun with scams and spam, which find their way to the very top of the first page of its search results:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/24/passive-income/#swiss-cheese-security
The entire internet is shaped by Google's decisions about what shows up on that first page of listings. When Google decided to prioritize shopping site results over informative discussions and other possible matches, the entire internet shifted its focus to producing affiliate-link-strewn "reviews" that would show up on Google's front door:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/04/24/naming-names/#prabhakar-raghavan
This was catnip to the kind of sociopath who a) owns a hedge-fund and b) hates journalists for being pain-in-the-ass, stick-in-the-mud sticklers for "truth" and "facts" and other impediments to the care and maintenance of a functional reality-distortion field. These dickheads started buying up beloved news sites and converting them to spam-farms, filled with garbage "reviews" and other Google-pleasing, affiliate-fee-generating nonsense.
(These news-sites were vulnerable to acquisition in large part thanks to Google, whose dominance of ad-tech lets it cream 51 cents off every ad dollar and whose mobile OS monopoly lets it steal 30 cents off every in-app subscriber dollar):
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2023/04/saving-news-big-tech
Now, the spam on these sites didn't write itself. Much to the chagrin of the tech/finance bros who bought up Sports Illustrated and other venerable news sites, they still needed to pay actual human writers to produce plausible word-salads. This was a waste of money that could be better spent on reverse-engineering Google's ranking algorithm and getting pride-of-place on search results pages:
https://housefresh.com/david-vs-digital-goliaths/
That's where AI comes in. Spicy autocomplete absolutely can't replace journalists. The planet-destroying, next-word-guessing programs from Openai and its competitors are incorrigible liars that require so much "supervision" that they cost more than they save in a newsroom:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/04/29/what-part-of-no/#dont-you-understand
But while a chatbot can't produce truthful and informative articles, it can produce bullshit – at unimaginable scale. Chatbots are the workers that hedge-fund wreckers dream of: tireless, uncomplaining, compliant and obedient producers of nonsense on demand.
That's why the capital class is so insatiably horny for chatbots. Chatbots aren't going to write Hollywood movies, but studio bosses hyperventilated at the prospect of a "writer" that would accept your brilliant idea and diligently turned it into a movie. You prompt an LLM in exactly the same way a studio exec gives writers notes. The difference is that the LLM won't roll its eyes and make sarcastic remarks about your brainwaves like "ET, but starring a dog, with a love plot in the second act and a big car-chase at the end":
https://pluralistic.net/2023/10/01/how-the-writers-guild-sunk-ais-ship/
Similarly, chatbots are a dream come true for a hedge fundie who ends up running a beloved news site, only to have to fight with their own writers to get the profitable nonsense produced at a scale and velocity that will guarantee a high Google ranking and millions in "passive income" from affiliate links.
One of the premier profitable nonsense companies is Advon, which helped usher in an era in which sites from Forbes to Money to USA Today create semi-secret "review" sites that are stuffed full of badly researched top-ten lists for products from air purifiers to cat beds:
https://housefresh.com/how-google-decimated-housefresh/
Advon swears that it only uses living humans to produce nonsense, and not AI. This isn't just wildly implausible, it's also belied by easily uncovered evidence, like its own employees' Linkedin profiles, which boast of using AI to create "content":
https://housefresh.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Advon-AI-LinkedIn.jpg
It's not true. Advon uses AI to produce its nonsense, at scale. In an excellent, deeply reported piece for Futurism, Maggie Harrison Dupré brings proof that Advon replaced its miserable human nonsense-writers with tireless chatbots:
https://futurism.com/advon-ai-content
Dupré describes how Advon's ability to create botshit at scale contributed to the enshittification of clients from Yoga Journal to the LA Times, "Us Weekly" to the Miami Herald.
All of this is very timely, because this is the week that Google finally bestirred itself to commence downranking publishers who engage in "site reputation abuse" – creating these SEO-stuffed fake reviews with the help of third parties like Advon:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/05/03/keyword-swarming/#site-reputation-abuse
(Google's policy only forbids site reputation abuse with the help of third parties; if these publishers take their nonsense production in-house, Google may allow them to continue to dominate its search listings):
https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2024/03/core-update-spam-policies#site-reputation
There's a reason so many people believed Hardin's racist "Tragedy of the Commons" hoax. We have an intuitive understanding that commons are fragile. All it takes is one monster to start shitting in the well where the rest of us get our drinking water and we're all poisoned.
The financial markets love these monsters. Mark Zuckerberg's key insight was that he could make billions by assembling vast dossiers of compromising, sensitive personal information on half the world's population without their consent, but only if he kept his costs down by failing to safeguard that data and the systems for exploiting it. He's like a guy who figures out that if he accumulates enough oily rags, he can extract so much low-grade oil from them that he can grow rich, but only if he doesn't waste money on fire-suppression:
https://locusmag.com/2018/07/cory-doctorow-zucks-empire-of-oily-rags/
Now Zuckerberg and the wealthy, powerful monsters who seized control over our commons are getting a comeuppance. The weak countermeasures they created to maintain the minimum levels of quality to keep their platforms as viable, going concerns are being overwhelmed by AI. This was a totally foreseeable outcome: the history of the internet is a story of bad actors who upended the assumptions built into our security systems by automating their attacks, transforming an assault that wouldn't be economically viable into a global, high-speed crime wave:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/04/24/automation-is-magic/
But it is possible for a community to maintain a commons. This is something Hardin could have discovered by studying actual commons, instead of inventing imaginary histories in which commons turned tragic. As it happens, someone else did exactly that: Nobel Laureate Elinor Ostrom:
https://www.onthecommons.org/magazine/elinor-ostroms-8-principles-managing-commmons/
Ostrom described how commons can be wisely managed, over very long timescales, by communities that self-governed. Part of her work concerns how users of a commons must have the ability to exclude bad actors from their shared resources.
When that breaks down, commons can fail – because there's always someone who thinks it's fine to shit in the well rather than walk 100 yards to the outhouse.
Enshittification is the process by which control over the internet moved from self-governance by members of the commons to acts of wanton destruction committed by despicable, greedy assholes who shit in the well over and over again.
It's not just the spammers who take advantage of Google's lazy incompetence, either. Take "copyleft trolls," who post images using outdated Creative Commons licenses that allow them to terminate the CC license if a user makes minor errors in attributing the images they use:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/01/24/a-bug-in-early-creative-commons-licenses-has-enabled-a-new-breed-of-superpredator/
The first copyleft trolls were individuals, but these days, the racket is dominated by a company called Pixsy, which pretends to be a "rights protection" agency that helps photographers track down copyright infringers. In reality, the company is committed to helping copyleft trolls entrap innocent Creative Commons users into paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars to use images that are licensed for free use. Just as Advon upends the economics of spam and deception through automation, Pixsy has figured out how to send legal threats at scale, robolawyering demand letters that aren't signed by lawyers; the company refuses to say whether any lawyer ever reviews these threats:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/02/13/an-open-letter-to-pixsy-ceo-kain-jones-who-keeps-sending-me-legal-threats/
This is shitting in the well, at scale. It's an online WMD, designed to wipe out the commons. Creative Commons has allowed millions of creators to produce a commons with billions of works in it, and Pixsy exploits a minor error in the early versions of CC licenses to indiscriminately manufacture legal land-mines, wantonly blowing off innocent commons-users' legs and laughing all the way to the bank:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/04/02/commafuckers-versus-the-commons/
We can have an online commons, but only if it's run by and for its users. Google has shown us that any "benevolent dictator" who amasses power in the name of defending the open internet will eventually grow too big to care, and will allow our commons to be demolished by well-shitters:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/04/04/teach-me-how-to-shruggie/#kagi

so what do you think our fav radioactive fire skelly would be like with a scientist s/o?
rubbing my hands together like a fly >:3 oh boy have i got some thoughts to share
prior to dating i think he'd be so competitive with them LOL
like regardless of their field of study i really do think he'd try to one-up them constantly (rivals AND lovers anyone?)
he admires their intellect even if he'd never admit it aloud initially
but it shows in small ways!! he lingers whenever they start going on about a concept that they could spend ages talking about even if everyone else drifts off
when he starts falling though? oh now he's actively asking for them to tell him more, and he doesn't mind when they correct him or when they ramble a little too long
i mean it's also because 1) internet access in belle reve, i assume, is restricted/supervised/probably straight up banned and 2) listening to someone he may or may not be falling for recall facts to him is a much more fun way of learning something new
he'll also start slowly sharing his old research with them, and i think that's when scientist!reader might actually start falling for him too
here's a man who only wanted to make the world a better place, and somehow, even if he's known nothing but pain for years, being with them makes him feel like he could be alexander sartorius again

You really gotta get rid of the idea that only some "bad" men watch "bad" porn. There is no such thing as good porn. And those watching? It's your doctor, it's your lawyer, it's your kids' teacher, it's the cop that stops you cause your light is out. It's your brother or your dad or your friendly colleagues. It's your mailman, it's your first responder/EMT. If you need more examples: Gisele Pelicot. Only 70 something of the 90 something perpetrators were in court. Because they couldn't identify the rest. But those 70 men lived within five(5) sq miles of her. Wake up. Porn is the theory and rape is the practice.
And with the rise of smartphones, we have the rise of children's access to the Internet. And guess what? The amount of child on child CSA has fucking skyrocketed because kids are accessing porn. Too many of these situations have led to permanent injury, or even death, because kids are mimicking what they see without parental supervision.
Truly, I wish that filmed sex had the same stigma it had in the 80s. Back rooms in the video store, lingerie magazines under your mattress, one guy getting a pinup special and it being the talk of the town. Now you can film yourself sexually torturing a drugged woman and it's considered free speech.

How Project Monarch fails the "Six Ways To Debunk Any Conspiracy Theory" sniff test
The 2017 article Six Ways To Debunk Any Conspiracy Theory lists six characteristics of conspiracy thinking that break down with a small amount of critical thinking. (I recommend reading the whole thing for yourself!)
If we compare the claims made about Project Monarch to the six items on this list, we can see that they meet five of the six items all six items, including:
No Leaks: The type of programming methods associated with Project Monarch have allegedly been practiced for at least seventy years in numerous countries (including but not limited to the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, and France) in all levels of society, yet no documents containing evidence proving its existence (such as documents containing alter scripts, programming and ritual protocols, programming session notes, alter access codes, and various memos) has ever been leaked.
Evidence Gap: Investigations of cases where we might expect to find evidence of Monarch-style programming have never found any such thing. If this was happening in the way people claim, we should expect at least some criminal investigations (including but not limited to investigations of child abuse, drug possession, and murder) to also uncover the aforementioned document types. We should also expect the more obvious programming tools and props (such as human-sized cages, ETC devices, ritual sites done up to look like UFOs or whatever, programming tapes and audio files, etc) to turn up in conjunction with such documents. And of course, we should be finding a lot more animal and human remains, with all of the ritual sacrifices they're supposedly performing.
Inconsistent Capabilities: Believers claim that programming cults are so hypercompetent that can hide or destroy all physical evidence of their existence, and apparently never place any digital literature on unsecure devices or file servers. Yet they are somehow also so inept that they can't stop all of these alleged victims from telling everything to their therapists, writing and publishing books, and from posting online. (They've apparently never heard of stalkerware, or at least not allowing someone to use the Internet without heavy supervision.)
Prediction Horizon: The alleged triggers that supposedly force different alters to front or activate specific programming are often extremely commonplace stimuli, including (but not limited to) simple colors, patterns, and images (for example, the image of a specific flower), common phrases (for example, "I called to see how you're feeling") and common gestures (for example, clasped hands).
It would be impossible for programmers to prevent their victims from coming across many of these triggers by pure happenstance, because they simply can't predict or control other people's behavior on a large enough scale. They can't know or control, for example, when the pop song they've used as a trigger will play on the radio in a store, or when the neighbor will suddenly decide to plant a bed of daisies, or when a bank teller will wear a blue silk shirt. And considering some of the roles alters are allegedly programmed for, things would get really awkward really fast.
Method-Goal Mismatch: Monarch-type programming is still allegedly practiced today because numerous cults and abusive groups want perfectly compliant, obedient people. But the methods they are claimed to use are both extraordinarily risky and effort-intensive, and ultimately do not appear to be more rewarding than conventional methods of indoctrination, manipulation, and generally limiting a person's capacity to exercise autonomy (such as deprivation of education, funds, and legal papers).
Unfalsifiable: Failure to locate hard evidence of Project Monarch or Monarch-like practices are attributed to the alleged hypercompetence of the cultists, government agents, etc. When the question of why neighbors, teachers, doctors, etc. didn't notice anything strange comes up, believers claim they're all cultists or agents. Records that contradict claims of ritual abuse are claimed to be falsified. Obviously impossible events described by patients are simply chalked up to confusion from drugged states. Numerous books in favor of this conspiracy theory assures us that denying abuse or admitting to your therapist that you fabricated your claims is further evidence of programming.
In conclusion, while we know that Project MK-Ultra existed, claims of Project Monarch's existence and the widespread, even systemic practice of the techniques it alleged developed are easily demonstrated as nothing more than conspiracy theories.

hello!! if its alright i'd like to request headcanons for step 1 Qiu and Tamarack with a fem!reader who aspires to be an idol. they like to practice idol and vocaloid dances and wear frilly dresses and accessories. If you want too, you could add their reactions in step 2 to reader actually posting dance covers online and getting popular on social media. :3
thank you!!! I hope this isnt too complicated and makes sense <3
Tumblr media
♦ Qiu & Tamarack with Idol!MC (Step 1 and 2) ♦
► tags/warnings:
► words: 945
► A/N: Hope you enjoy! Little PSA. Since the request specified both Step 1 and Step 2 Tamarack and Qiu, I used he/him pronouns for Step 1 Qiu and switched to exclusively they/them pronouns when I wrote the Step 2 section.
► Masterlist
Tumblr media
Tamarack
Step 1 Tamarack Isn't at all familiar with idol culture, or Vocaloid, for that matter;
She is too much of an outdoorsy type to spend too much time online, and I think that at that age, her grandparents wouldn't let her go online, or would only allow it under strict supervision;
So she'd only have access to cool math games or things of that nature;
Mc would be her first exposure to idol culture;
Tamarack would ask SO MANY questions! It's something so important to her new friend that she'd like to know everything about it!;
She'd be FASCINATED by the frilly dresses, and would likely BEG to try on any of the hair accessories;
You can trust her to always be there, cheering MC on when she's practising, and Tamarack would be happy to help her come up with ideas for her future idol career;
Like, coming up with call and responses, fandom names and stuff;
Likely, practising with her around wouldn't be really helpful because she'd be dancing along to an entirely different choreography or excitedly cheering MC on;
It's amazing for morale but not so much for memorising your steps! ;
Also, at that age, she’ll be painfully blunt if she doesn’t like something, so she’s the best person MC can go to for honest opinions about stuff;
In Step 2, she still shows her support but in more practical ways!
Like helping MC set up their camera to film, or be able to give her pointers on how the audio sounds;
She's always the first person to like and comment on the videos, and is insanely proud of MC's newfound popularity, although she is not surprised at all that it happened;
I mean, she saw firsthand how hard she worked. How much she struggled and how much practice led to all the skills MC perfected over the years;
Of course she would succeed!;
At that age Tamarack is very insecure about herself, so I think part of her would wonder why MC bothers spending time with her now that she's internet-famous;
It's a thought she tries to shake but always comes back to torment her eventually;
Sometimes, when Tamarack thinks that she’ll move away with her parents, she’s thankful for MC’s videos, because they mean she’d still be able to see MC’s face and hear her voice whenever she misses her;
I think at that age, you’d see slight influences from MC’s hobby influencing Tamarack too;
Like, how you see more frills in her dresses, a light-stick charm with MC’s signature colour hanging from her bag and Mc’s covers littering her playlists;
She finds herself learning to play Vocaloid songs on her Cello;
Is still very honest about things she likes and dislikes in MC’s work, but is better at expressing it in a gentler way
Qiu
More familiar than Tamarack on idol culture;
He’s online a bit more, and I can totally see Ren as a Vocaloid fan that would introduce Qiu to it!;
So Step 1 Qiu is blessed with base knowledge, but he’d still ask many questions about it anyway;
Like what style Mc is going for, what songs they know how to sing etc…;
And he’d try to help her as much as possible;
But Qiu helping is a lot more different than Tamarack. Like, he may fumble his ballet choreographies sometimes, but he’d try to help her memorise hers!;
He’ll cheer her on while she practises, like Tamarack, but be more restrained about it and try to give her notes afterwards;
I think he’s also the type to think of ideas during class and pass her a bunch of little written notes from his notepads on things he thought of (including little drawings when he’s able to!);
He is much kinder about criticism, to the point of sometimes being a little too kind and not critical enough;
So he’s the person to go to for reassurance if she’s feeling particularly insecure about her hobby;
He acts a little like MC is already famous, and when questioned he just says, with a smile, that he can sense that she’s going to make it;
So he wants to assert himself as the first member of her fan club!;
Step 2 Qiu is colder, but they’re no less supportive;
Just, perhaps, a little envious of her sense of purpose;
How cool is it that MC has known what she wanted to do and who she wanted to be since she was little? And that, while she has matured, she’s only grown more certain of her dream?;
How they wish they had that same certainty about anything;
It doesn’t diminish their liking for her. It’s just another way they grow to admire her as they both age;
They find her newfound internet fame a little unsettling, but they're happy for her as long as it’s something she wants and enjoys!;
They know what it’s like for people to have certain expectations about how you act and what you can offer and the last thing they want is for her to burn out like they did;
So they check on her, discreetly. And makes sure MC knows she can always say no, and that her life doesn’t need to revolve around making her fans happy and satisfying their every whim;
Would only carry discreet merch, and would not make a big deal out of being friends with her;
They are still a big fan and supportive of her work, but they want their friendship with MC to be a respite from the turbulence of internet fame rather than an extension of it;
They snap at anyone who recognises MC and make her feel uncomfortable at school

I just found your blog and it's so good! Much needed, I love the dumps and I hope you bring more (no rush ofc!! Take your time <33)
In btd 2, Ren shows us our new room and says it's pretty simple because he doesn't know what we like yet
I was wondering, would he give us, like, a credit card (Strade probably had more than three? I don't know XD) to buy whatever we want on the internet, or would it be more of a "give me a list of things you like and want and I'll search the web and buy them for you" thing?
How long would it be until we could have our own pc and use internet? -letting us have our own privacy on it as well-, Since Strade eventually let him have his own, and time browsing online. Would Ren be even more "easier" in giving us permission or would he be more cautious, (more than Strade?) I know it all depends on how we behave, probably
Also, how much do you think he would supervise us?
Could you answer this question about how him and his older version in tpof would act in these situations, please? Are there any differences or would it be almost pretty much the same?
(I JUST SAW HOW BIG I TURNED THIS ASK, I APOLOGIZE LMAO)
Thank you!! Generally, Ren will be much more lenient than Strade was.
He’s definitely a list person! He won’t let you have your own credit card— you don’t need it, he can buy whatever you need! He’ll have you make a list and will pick things off of it occasionally as rewards.
When you’ll get internet access depends on your behavior. If all is going well, it’ll probably be a month or two (only if you’ve proven you can be trusted). He would install a lot of parental controls at first, and monitor everything you do. Even if he claims to trust you, it can’t hurt to see what you’re up to! He probably would never remove them, but as time goes on, the more he trusts you the less he’ll look at your activity.
He’s generally pretty open about giving you gifts and privileges. The thing there is, at one point in the game he stops and has a realization. He goes “I’ve been coddling you. No wonder this isn’t working.” So in order for all those nice things to be true, you have to be good and can’t let him get to that point. If he does, he’ll become more like Strade (because he thinks that’s what he needs to do to train you properly), which means he’ll be more strict and more brutal.
Fox is much more strict from the beginning. It will take a while of living with him and behaving well before he brings up the idea of a list, and once he does your gifts are sporadic. They’re not an offer to spruce up your room out of hospitality, they’re strictly rewards until you’re behaving consistently well. As time goes on he’ll get you more things more often, but it will take a lot of effort on your part.
He may not let you have your own internet. If you want to watch something, he’ll put it on for you. If you want to search something? He’ll look it up. Fox is much more controlling than his younger self, mainly because Fox sees you as a pet while Ren sees you as a new friend/replacement for Strade. (That can easily change to a pet depending on the route you take, but to begin with it’s still up in the air).
I’d say it would be many months before you get your own technology. He may let you use his laptop beforehand, but it’s always locked down to a few functions. It’ll take a lot of trust to have your own.

My access to the internet was actually rather over-supervised as a kid. So I learned to hide stuff early. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so wild and honestly damaging if it hadn’t been as strict in the first place.

The fact that demigod Wuxian has theoretically if not advisable access to the internet scares me
Wei Wuxian with Internet access is a terrifying thought just in general but demigod Wuxian with Internet access is next level terrifying.
Chiron tries to supervise when Wuxian is on the camp computers for exactly that reason.
