Sam: Hey, how you doing?

Deeks, wincing as he lifts his head: Great.

Sam, scrutinizing the cut on his temple accompanying bruising: Damn, you don’t look good.

Deeks, sarcastically: Sorry I’m not my usual stunningly attractive self. Getting ambushed by three guys and hit, repeatedly, in the head will do that.

Sam, surprised: Deeks, I’m serious. I think you need to go to the emergency department.

Deeks: Yeah, right. So you and Callen can rib me about being soft and weak tomorrow. I’ll take a couple Tylenol and be fine.

Sam: Hey, I’m not going to make fun of you. And if anyone else does, they’ll answer to me. Now let’s get you checked out again.

Deeks, slowly standing: I think I should either be touched or offended by that. Not really sure right now. Yeah, we should probably go to the hospital.

Sam, offering him a supportive arm: You’ve had a rough year.

Deeks, snorting: Yeah, tell me about it.

Sam: We’ll get you fixed up. Can’t have Kensi coming back to a broken partner.

On Sam, looking at Torres in the hospital, hearing footsteps come up behind him.

Sam: "It's a private room. Go away."

Bucky comes into view beside Sam.

Bucky: "Missed you too."

They look at each other. Bucky a soft smile. Sam looks away, a smile tugging the corner of his mouth.

Sam: "I hate to admit it...I'm glad you're here."

Sam looks back to Bucky and they both go in for a hug, Bucky closing his eyes in it. They part, stood side-by-side again.

Bucky: "You looked good out there on that 6 o'clock."

Sam shakes his head a bashful smile. Then sombre again.

Bucky: "But then I saw this."

Sam: "Doctors had to restart his heart. They don't know if..."

Sam closes his eyes.

Bucky: "This isn't your fault."

Sam: "It makes me think of Steve. How many alien invasions did he stop, again?"

Bucky: "Two."

Sam: "Two. Wow. What made me think I could follow that. I should have took the serum. Like Steve. Like you."

Bucky looking at Sam.

Bucky: "Why?"

Sam: "Because this is all starting to seem much bigger than me."

Sam turns to fully face Bucky.

Sam: "Ross, he asked me to restart the Avengers, Buck. But Joaquin's in here. Isaiah's in prison. And Sterns...I had him. I had Sterns. Right in my hands. And he got away. He damn near pushed us to the brink of war, because I wasn't—"

Sam emotionally cuts himself off.

Bucky: "Say what you need to say."

Sam looks down, then back to Bucky.

Sam: "Steve made a mistake."

Bucky: "No he didn't. He gave you that shield, not because you're the strongest, but because you're you. You think if you had that serum, you'd be able to protect all the people you care about. Steve had it, and he couldn't. You're a human being and you're doing your best. Steve gave people something to believe in, but you...you give them something to aspire to."

Sam squints at Bucky.

Sam: "Did your speech writers help you with that?"

Bucky: "They did, yeah, the ending, a little bit. Well, did you like it? Was it—?"

Sam: "No no, it was good. Solid...B plus."

Bucky: "Yeah. Emotional."

Sam: "Very. I felt it."

Bucky: "But just enough."

Sam: "Yeah."

Bucky: "Listen, I've gotta...catch a plane. I have a campaign fundraiser. It's so stupid."

They look over Torres, smiling. Bucky looks at Sam.

Bucky: "He's gonna be all right, man."

Sam looks at Bucky, shakes Bucky's hand.

Sam: "Thanks, Buck."

Bucky: "I love you, buddy."

Bucky cuffs Sam's arm and leaves; Sam nods, looking after him.

Despite Danny's best efforts, no matter how much time past, Amity Park refused to see Phantom as a hero.

Sure, there were pockets of support, particularly among teens, but most of the town blames Phantom for the property damage, saying if he didn't fight the ghosts then it wouldn't be so bad, to that time he got mind controlled by Freakshow and "attacked" the mayor. It wears him down. It wears Tucker and Sam down. Jazz can only try to support them all.

Then one day, a member of the Justice League visits. Someone minor, and kinda a jerk... maybe a Wonder Twin? Zan? Whatever. They don't investigate; they don't look deeper. They listen to the town folks and declare the ghost hunters, Red Huntress and the Fentons, to be the official heroes of the town.

Worse? Danny Phantom is officially considered a villain to the Justice League. Tuck hacks into the Watchtower and confirms that they have a file (a heavily inaccurate file) about how to defeat Phantom.

Danny doesn't think he can do this anymore.

A few weeks later, a young villain escapes into Amity and demands (begs) that Danny help them escape from the hero after them. No idea who, I can't find a lot of info on teen villains in DC, so let's fudge some ages and make it Kyd Wyckyd from the Teen Titans cartoon. Danny agrees, because to hell with the Justice Losers, and they defeat the hero, becoming friends in the process. Kyd confesses that they became a villain after being ostracized bc of how they look, and they've been trying to avoid villain organizations because HIVE was abusive, but it's really hard to be a villain alone bc of all the heroes.

Sam gets an idea. Tucker agrees with the idea. Jazz is just happy they'll end up making friends.

The next day, the Teen Villain Alliance is formed, ready to assist with any teenage illegal shenanigans their allies might get into.

Some notes:

It's created to be a healthier option for teen "villains" to connect with others and support each other.

It's more important that this is for Teens rather than Villains. They're tired of adult villains taking advantage of them. The TVA would rather ally with a teen vigilante than with an adult villain.

Again, no idea who the teen villains are, but Klarion is definitely here. He leaves the Light for the chaos of the TVA. Maybe Ember is there too?

Timeline wise, this is around when Tim is still Robin, but Damien has arrived at Wayne Manor.

This is because, when it comes time to try to infiltrate the TVA, they'll have a convenient child-assassin who has none of the monitors of a teen hero that Phantom immediately picks up on.

Damien, who at this point has been abandoned by his mother, dismissed and scolded by his father, and has had no success at carving his own place in the family, jumps at the chance. He is then surrounded by peers who don't insult him or try to change his behavior (too much; jazz is trying to help him find healthier methods of expressing himself). He... might not want to continue being a spy.

Danny, Sam, Tuck, and Jazz are the founding members.

Danny reinvents himself as the High Prince of the Infinite, Prince Phantom Dark. He got kingship from fighting Pariah Dark, but since he's still alive, he's only a prince. He steals the last name Dark as an intimidation tatic against those in the know; only Danny would have the balls to claim family with Pariah.

Sam works as a powerless villain, but she might no be powerless? Either way, Danny gives her a bunch of repurposed Fenton tech, and she buys the rest with her parents credit card. She does NOT care if that's traced back to the Mansons. She would choose something goth, maybe something spider related or even bat?

I love Pharaoh Tucker, so I think he should get magic powers? Since pharaohs of old were considered the balance between the real and the divine. He's still a tech guy, now he's a tech and magic guy.

Jazz isn't really a villain, more of a team mom who's planning on using everyone's psyche's as her thesis paper. You know what, that's her callsign, she's Psyche. Sometimes she flirts with Nightwing.

Celia is just like such a character because what if your hell was being stripped to nothing, no past, no name, no self, an ego without a home, lost and restless. And then you were delivered out of hell into this strange world, emaciated and stripped of your own body (who took care of you when you arrived, Celia? who nursed you back to health?) and you have a son now, and suddenly none of what you lost is important anymore because your identity as a mother is rock-solid and immovable. Suddenly this boy is your tether to having a self again and it doesn’t matter who you are as long as you are someone to Jack. (Were you a mother before? before it was peeled from you like skin under a scalpel, were you a wife? a daughter, a sister, a coworker, a best friend, a mentor, a person? why did the Stranger choose you?)

But now he’s being torn from you, as the person you were drags you inch by inch back to the place where there is no you anymore, back to where whatever you are to Jack doesn’t matter, to where you’re just Celia, poor lost girl without a name. And you can’t have that. (And now you really are an embodiment of the Stranger, aren’t you? Drifting in from faraway lands and putting on a friendly face, deceit spilling from your mouth like blood. You now wear the face of the thing that violated you, luring another poor soul to be torn from his place, from his time, from his self—)

But you’re not a bad person. It’s not about you, see?

It’s about Jack.

You’re a mother, after all. You have to put him first, and he needs you— he needs his mother.

If it was only you, of course you’d do something for poor Sam. Of course you’d take your chances at going back to hell. (If it was only you, you’d have nothing to lose.)

But you’re a mother (you have a role again). You are a mother (you have a place again). You are a Mother, and therefore, you Are.

Collateral Damage, Part 2

“Kensi’s pregnant?”

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“Oh my god, that’s why she was sick for two weeks.”

A sharp whistle cut through all the chatter and jarred Deeks enough for him to realize Sam was walking towards him, blocking out everything else.

“Everybody shut up for a minute,” Sam said. Gripping Deeks’ shoulder, he dipped his head, giving the illusion that it was just the two of them. Deeks focused on the tight, almost painful pressure of Sam’s fingers. “Deeks, can you hear me?”

Deeks nodded sharply, purposely drawing in a long breath.

“Good. Now are you sure about Kensi being pregnant?”

“Yeah. She’s 13 weeks,” Deeks answered, his chest squeezing so tight he thought he might pass out.

“Hey, steady Deeks, it’s going to ok,” Sam said, centering Deeks with a palm in the center of his chest. Glancing over his shoulder at the rest of the team that Deeks only just now noticed were still watching. “C’mon, let’s go take a breather. You guys get everything together. We’ll be back in a few minutes.”

Deeks numbly followed Sam to the locker room, barely aware of anything around him. In the back of his mind, he knew he needed to rescue Kensi, but overwhelming panic made focusing on anything impossible. Kensi, their children, could be dead right now.

“Hey, Deeks, breathe!” Sam ordered him as he carefully shoved Deeks down onto a bench.

“I—I can’t,” he stuttered out between ragged breaths that did nothing to stop his fuzzy vision or shaking hands.

“Yes, you can. Focus on me, Deeks.”

Deeks looked into Sam’s eyes, forcing himself to study the way his pupils almost blended into his irises.

“That’s good, Deeks. Now breathe with me.”

After an unknown amount of time, Deeks felt his heart rate start to slow, and the tightness in his chest eased.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I’m terrified, Sam. I feel like I’m about to lose everything.”

“That’s understandable,” Sam assured him. “This is scary.”

“If anything happens—this pregnancy is everything to both of us, but for Kensi. I don’t know what she would do,” Deeks whispered. “This can’t be happening.”

“We aren’t going to let anything happen to them. In order to do that—and I’m probably going to regret saying this—I need angry Deeks to come out to play. Because as destructive as you can be when you’re angry, you get things done. And Kensi and your baby need you right that from you right now.”

“Twins.”

“What?” Sam asked, thrown off by the single word. At any other time, Deeks would have been pleased to shock Sam Hanna.

“We’re having twins,” Deeks repeated slightly more loudly. He laughed weakly. “Not exactly how we planned on telling everyone.” Tilting his head back, he swallowed against his teeth. “I need them back, Sam.”

“We’re going to do everything in our power to make that happen,” Sam told him. “And you’re going to be right there with us.

supernatural movie reboot but its a ghostfacers mockumentary about their attempt to make a “serious film” about sam and dean winchester. opens on ed and harry going “CUT!” and the camera pans to a guy that looks kind of like jared padalecki pulling off a party city wig. turns out the finale was actually part of the ghostfacer’s retelling of supernatural. Sam Dean and Castiel spend the entire movie chasing after ed and harry trying to stop the thing being made. (its a huge commercial success and they screen it at the destiel wedding)

I just wanted to make a version of the characters in my own style, it's more of a design than an illustration so the poses are pretty boring, I'm drowning in homework right now so that's all I managed to do during the break between classes, but I'll probably draw Tucker Jazz and Plasmius/Vlad

That's all they had to get this right

But that's all they needed.

Rolin was right.

There is something really heavy in this scene.

Sam and Jacob have spent three years carrying these characters inside themselves. Hundred of late nights and dawns together (on and off set). Conversations, debates, meals shared, laughter and probably tears too.It's clearly been a journey for them, not just their characters.

But there's something else happening here too.

Eric saw it. He watched these actors go places others won't (or can't). Something challenging and authentic.

Even Eric (a veteran actor of 50+ years) said he's never been on a show like this, never pushed himself so far outside his comfort zone. But for this show, he's happy to do it because he knows he can trust them.

Eric nailed it when he spoke about the importance of trust and engaging with genuine emotions for both Jacob and Sam:

Jacob talks about Sam the same way,

This is why this feels so real.

Because it's true when Sam says:

And Jacob was only half joking when he said:

It's their complete trust in each other. It's their willingness to engage truthfully with painful emotions.

Shared grief and shared sorrow hurts, and Jacob and Sam aren't holding anything back. They feel safe going to places that are deeply painful and hard. Ugly and nasty. Full of regret and remorse. And genuine love.

This is why it feels so truthful in that moment.

This is why they only needed two takes.
