Anon I'm going to try to be as nice to you as I can but like. this does sound weird! I understand having trauma associated with your father, but taking that to "hate the guts" of literally everyone else with the same addiction has extremely negative social consequences. The idea of addicts (and since we're in context, especially black addicts!) being inherently more violent, aggressive, dangerous, etc. is an extremely prevalent and harmful social idea that does absolutely nothing to help anyone and instead reinforces the terrible treatment of people with addictions (who are almost always also mentally ill and/or physically ill and/or poor, etc.). Again I understand why you feel that way and I'm not saying you're not allowed to have triggers, but when your triggers are affecting the way you see a vulnerable group of real people (because this kind of thing does not stop and end at fictional characters), you need to like. step back and take some time and self-reflect and sit with yourself and let yourself feel uncomfortable for a little bit. Challenge your ideas. A lot of people leading a lot of negative social change use their trauma as a shield for why they think the way they do, and if you don't catch it fast, that's how it ends up. There are so many lovely, lovely people in this world who also happen to be alcoholics, reducing a person (or in this context a videogame guy lol) to their addiction and using that reduced, dehumanized version in your head to write them off as bad and inherently just like your shitty father is um. it's bad to do that. People with addictions, just like people with any other illness, are still people and deserve your respect lol idk what else to say about this

Mona : He thinks hes cute because he looks like a cute cat and sergio likes cute things and cats. Thinks he is charming. Tries to treat him like any other person despite how adorabubble he is. He starts thinking of him as his big brother naturally later on, he really trusts him and tells him things he doesnt tell anyone else, asks him for advice on his problems and thoughts and yeah really values his opinions.

Ann: He figured she was a Loud girl at first without even talking to her, he doesnt have a neutral opinion on women in general tbh so bad start, but as soon as they became friends and he heard her talk about what happened and how angry and frustrated she was he was like.. woaghhhh. no way.

Sergio has historically never been good at talking/making friends with girls or has had much of an interest in doing so, he mostly avoided them, so idk it seems stupid but he was like... woag. At first Sergio in his mind is like. WELL ANN is cool because SHES NOT LIKE THE OTHER GIRLS nope shes COOL AND REAL unlike the Other GIRLS (sergio turn around) BSDDVJBJFVJ. dont worry he figures it out later.

Anywho he thinks shes awesome and so nice to him and he admires how dedicated she is and how she tries to be upbeat but does worry about her and encourages her to break things if angry. Goes on her shopping trips even if he actually hates shopping because he loves Ann. Is encouraging about the things Ann wants to do but still tells her when theyre a bit silly (like in her social link where she sets impossible things to do hahah). Likes talking about more emotional things with her because he feels embarassed to talk about those things with the Boys (sergio turn around again)

Ryuji: Thought he was a bit strange, annoying at first. Just barging in and making him get involved in weird shit. But like with Ann he starts talking to him and they become buddies because they encourage their silly activities. He feels angry for ryuji and what happened to him; he thinks he should kill everyone in the track team actually/j .

Likes spending time with him, he appreciates that ryuji seems to understand him and likes to have fun with him running and excercising and playing videogames etcc. Bro bonding. They do mischievious activities together.

hes so fun to be around and sergio loves how hes such a kind person despite everything : ). They make stupid jokes together. Ryuji stops sergio from killing people sometimes. See, Sergio is like a Bro Character but hes the leader and also he has poor impulse control and is very angry.

Yusuke: He adores Yusuke he thinks hes so talented and everything he does is literally a masterpiece (hes right)

At first yusuke came off as a bit strange and aloof, but sergio was an instant fan as soon as he saw his work LOL. Yusuke appreciates the support. Sergio really admires and respects yusuke, even when he does “weird” things its like. Well its yusuke so. Yusuke = cool, then thing = cool as well right ??!!! normal

Makoto: Sergio thinks at first shes uptight, too serious, no fun, a snitch. I guess hes not wrong per se but ..

He was sooo mean to her at first when makoto hadnt joined the thieves and was spying them LOL. He did feel very sorry later and begrudgingly apologized along with ann and ryuj.

Nowadays he thinks mako is pretty cool, super smart and super strong. he still thinks she should let loose more, have more fun. He recognizes how hard she had it before joining. She appreciates how cunning she is. He had a playfight with her but sergio fights like a rabid animal and mako actually knows aikido . Im not sure if it continued but their fighting styles and what they look for in a fight are so different it didnt work out too well : ( sad. its ok.

Fuba: Fuba is like Sergios little sis : ). He wasnt sure if they should do something at first when the situation came up but he realized fuba was acting kinda like him before, isolating and being angry and sad etc... felt fucked up to not do something or try to help but he didnt want to be super pushy about it because he knew how he felt and how he didnt appreciate anyone who tried to drag him around even if they had good intentions. But yeah his friends made him realize how they ahd kinda pulled him out of a hole too at the beginning and he figured everyone could use a chance like that..

He really cares for her and tries to spend a lot of time with her, play anything she wants and watch her funny animes etc. He absolutely plays along with every game; he has a lot of fun too hes so silly as well. They bully eachother lovingly hehe. Hes willing to accompany her everywhere but i guess he realizes he wont be there for her forever so tries to gently push her a bit to be more independent.

Sees something about himself in her, although different. He tries to be someone that Younger Sergio would have appreciated in his life.

Haru: Sergio respects her a lot and thinks shes super kind perhaps too much.

He tries acting more serious or polite etc at first with her but haru ofc notices and is like. sergio its ok you can be yourself : ).

He still doesnt really act with her like he does with the others because idk theres this enormous barrier of respect that it seems unprope to act like that with her.. She IS sergios friend he just finds it super hard to be casual with her completely.

They like gardening together and showing eachother their plant children so thats something where they can be ever so slightly more relaxed in. I wonder if haru feels sad that sergio doesnt dare act casual or be himself in front of her like the others : ( He super appreciates whenever haru gifts him something unprompted etc.

Sumi: Sergio doesnt know sumi that well. He just thinks shes a cool , super kind girl whos very talented , polite. He always treated her really nicely. I think he enjoys the tyoe of respect he gets from Sumi even if its embarassing sometimes hahah since he feels she gets a different perspective of him ahah. He starts acting more casual in 3rd sem etc but theres also a barrier of respect here like with haru. Its more like.. welll sumi .. she thinks im cool and responsible i.. must fulfill that...

Goro: Well .. we already know LOL right sunset-bridgers?

He is someone so fucking cool in sergios eyes. He considers him his worthy rival and admires him a lot ; hes just so damn cool, talented, smart , strong.. it kinda feels like he always knows whats he doing and even if he makes a mistake sergio finds it charming.

He used to feel envious and jealous of him for having thigs he didnt and apparently being much more succesful in general. But ofc things happen.. he realizes things werent as simple as they seemed and how goro felt quite similar to him.

He really appreciates how they seem to see things similarly. have a similar world view so they can understand eachother easily and talk soo sososo much. Like.. wow hell yeah this guy gets what im saying yeah finally. guy who can keep up with me in snarky convos. Guy who likes to play the same silly challenges as me. Guy who fights with me and is strong as hell so we are matched. In goro he finds someone who likes him to his core; sees right thru his disguise and is interested in spending time with real Sergio. He takes him seriously. No one takes sergio so seriously or seems to give such weight to his words....

Ive like talked a little about stuff related 2 her identity problems ☝️ ✌️ and everything but like. vague hand motions heres the whole thing:;;;

Tbh im not sure where it started but to me its a mix of her ties to dionysus being expression and emotions and me just projecting onto her. her powers are focused on influencing others and manipulating things rather than just nature or art so shes like. full of chaos. not even in a silly personality trait way its literally just built into her. thats what her powers are. chaos and change. thats what she embodies. [which contrasts angels motif of calmness and cowardice and brings a cool balance to their relationship]

so obviously that and having bipolar disorder can make things messy sometimes and she struggles with truly being happy with her friendships. which is bad on its own but these also make her really cling to predictability and the idea of being in control (most obvious ex. is taking the role of leader during the quest for herself and planning out everything they do) which like. is related to the uncertainty she feels towards herself and her future cuz shes like getting closer to being an adult [and also the age lots of demigods dont make it very far past but she hasnt had to worry much about that until now] but really isnt ready to do that nor does she have any real passion for any job or thing related to it. shes just focused on finishing highschool and then she’ll have to worry about that. which she hated cuz yk. Mentioned stuff.

i guess we kinda already have the answer for holly lol it was very swift and reciprocal amicability but even if they met outside of circumstances like that, i think it'd be mostly the same. holly is very sweet and it's easy for her to be motherly to anyone younger than her esp someone who can be as polite as kakyoin. i think he'd be very overwhelmed with it tho 😭 if it were different circumstances than canon i think it takes a bit of both a) just getting used to and b) making their relationship more personal before kakyoin like. adjusts and is able to like accept it me think. once he does it's very easy for him and her to team up against jotaro. there's art where holly kisses one cheek and kakyoin kisses the other and jotaro is blue-screening ohhh i lvoe that shit i eat it up i do not care i know it's cringe i dont care it's fun

i do think the nuances of it would depend on which au ur looking at (if it's a kakyoin lives, if it's a kakyoin lives and was never injured au (cowardice btw), if it's a no-journey-happened au, reincarnation, etc etc etc) BUT i will say:

i dont think they would hate jotaro, no matter what. even if kakyoin is dead and jotaro is visiting after the fact to apologize/explain, i do not think they would hate him. probably uncomfortable with him, but they would not hate him cause he is literally a kid too. it's not his fault all this shit went down. he didn't ask for it. and it's the least they can do for noriaki now to watch over his friend. i have a post about this here

i think that ^ is echoed in kakyoin-lives aus. they would never hate him. like no matter their opinion on the adults in the situation, they'd see jotaro as a victim too. i think they'd be glad someone as big and strong as jotaro was there for kakyoin while whatever happened, happened. even if theyre a little weirded out by jotaro cause he's just so yknow. bizarre. el oh el. i think just by nature of like, kakyoin's parents being such normal people, that they never completely understand jotaro so while they see that he makes kakyoin very happy and theyre happy for that by extension, they def just don't get it 😭 but with how dedicated jotaro is to their son i dont think they'd feel that they need to get it tbh. esp cause since meeting jotaro/the rest of the crusaders, kakyoin begins learning how to reach out to them, too. basically im saying, i dont think kakyoin's parents and jotaro would ever get on like holly and kakyoin do, but i think both parties would come to respect each other and bond over their love for noriaki if nothing else. kinda like a teammate/coworker relationship than an outright friendship/familial bond. but yeah

Hello gonna ask a question that doesn't really have a straight answer but like why do blogs post opinions on jason and if they get a lot of notes they're suddenly treated like the absolute truth and only good interpretation of jason? Some blogs get treated like they know characters (jason) so much better than anyone else and you look and it's just the same complaints and takes over and over again. Like no I don't take every appearance jason has as canon because some of them are deliberately ooc or just written out of existence at this point. But you have people who just insist jason did every bad thing ever and you have to admit he's wrong and the replies are all "omg how does it feel to be completely right?" I don't think they know how it feels because they're not actually right lmao.

hi tumblr! how are you guys doing? how was everyone’s weekend? ako, im ready to talk about my date yesterday so if youre bored and you wanna join me in dissecting the events of yesterday’s date then please feel free to read along

we met up in coffee academics and it felt almost nostalgic seeing him again? kasi the last time we saw each other was early 2022 and alot has happened since then and i ultimately felt like “im so glad he’s meeting this version of myself naman”

it was really fun, like it was so good to remember how fun it actually is whenever we’re together; ang ingay niya, pero ako rin, tapos ang kulit namin saka ang gulo ng mga topics namin and i enjoyed every single bit of it, we talked about serious stuff as in we really wanted to know kung anong nagbago samin and also we were talking about aliens and weird stuff like that basta tawa kami ng tawa

he was nice enough to go with me to atc to buy food for my family and back to molito again kasi he was parked there

we ended up hanging out a bit sa car niya for a bit in the same parking spot just talking and listening to music and eventually thinking of somewhere else to go kasi nga we didnt want to go home pa naman; he also asked if i still remember the name he gave his car and ofcourse i still remembered it and i dont think im ever gonna not remember it

we ended up going to a more quiet parking spot away from the malls and just remembering everything now is making me emotional?

he opened up the back door of his car (the type na paside yung open ng door) and we just talked - we talked for hours as in we were there from siguro 7 pm to 11 pm just talking

okay so ofcourse there was some flirting and i loved every bit of it and he was really touchy which i really loved too pero the fact na he initiated converstations really had me feeling really good and fuzzy inside? i was telling my bestfriends na it felt so refreshing to just talk to someone about everything and anything after months of just keeping everything to myself

we laughed lot - i cant explain why or how but this is so important to me, and i think im craving this more than sex?

we did end up making out but again that was just the cherry on top of everything else just being so good

but there are things na i got to take away from my our date last night which i guess would help me from putting a label on how im feeling right now:

he isnt really looking into dating seriously so thats the catch, and tbh i dont know if he ever will be and if im even going to be on his list of people he would even want to consider dating?

with that being said, and i actually told him this din - i actually dont have enough time and energy to wait around for him or for anyone who would be similar to him

kaya ang sakin lang is - im just glad i got to show him who i really am and i hope thats enough for him to see what he could lose if he does end up not pursuing me

im glad na i also got to show him who i am genuinely and im also glad na atleast now, i really know what i want in a relationship

Ok, since many nightfall readers freakin hate the train scene so much, do you guys have any ideas of how it could've been done better? Because tbh i had this question since the beginning of me hating that scene, but for some reason, i could not for the life of me imagine the train scene to be something else. Because i just knew that PD had to do something very very very weird and ugly, and over the top to amp up the "craziness" of the last book for this series. I just knew since the moment alex appeared, she would cause unnecessary drama for emmy and will, so a very very very ugly and big closure would have to happen and like i said, i cant think of anything else. I know the train scene was absurd AF, but i dont know a better scene to fix that part of nightfall.

I think pd already ruined the whole book since the moment they dropped aydin and alex in that book. And the moment alex came in, it's like watching a car crash, it got worse and worse and worse, so the ending should be for emmy, will, alex and aydin to confront their deeply ugly feelings of jealousy, envy, anger etc. etc. in a ridiculously "devils night" way. Yeah, do you get what i'm saying? If any other anons can give some other possible headcanons of what could've happened to solve emmy and alex's + will and aydin's stupid rivalry in the last moments before they ran away from BC + in the train, please do share. Readers kept on being angry at that scene (me too) but i never saw anyone actually suggesting a scene that can wrap up the whole ridiculousness of this weird emmywillalexaydin foursome problem better than what was in canon. And i hated that i couldnt give a better suggestion because those scenes were shit as hell!

I agree with the anon that said about PD's writing shit ass development writing. I feel like a lot of things pd wrote in this series, were really just for shock values that they couldnt integrate and blend well in a more coherent plotting or characterisation. Idk, it does take me out of the story because what the hell was that for? This was the same reaction i had for all the threesomes and orgies in the past 3.5 books too.

That’s a good question, and honestly, I don’t have much of an answer. As it’s been discussed, PD particular brand of sharing doesn’t hit right with a lot of readers, so I’m not sure there is anything that could be done to change this.

However, I think if one were to attempt to write an AU for this scene, it would be important to look not at what happened, but the characters at play.

I used to think that the train scene was supposed to parallel the gym scene with Damon and Will, and for the most part I still do. In the train scene, Will becomes Emory, having to watch the person he cares about most being intimate with someone else. However, Emory doesn’t become Will, she becomes Damon. Which is an odd choice. I think it was supposed to back-up the idea that Emory is finally going after what she wants and desires; giving into her impulses without giving it a second thought or overthinking like she had before.

It’s just her desire for Alex comes out of nowhere. There really is no build-up to their friendship that would lead to this. On top of that, it’s paralleling Damon and Will’s friendship, which is supposed to be so deep that it has no comparisons in the series.

Because of these reasons, it aligns more with the Rika/Banks scene in Hideaway. Emory effectively says “All of you have had Alex, so why shouldn’t I? That would even the playing field.”

But I didn't understand why that solved the problem Banks and with Rika, and it's the same here. The Alex/Emory scene doesn’t work for so many because it doesn’t seem to offer a good reason for why their problems with each other are resolved.

If PD wanted to put Will in Emory’s place so he could experience what Em’s had to go through with him “playing the field”, Emory needed to be the one accepting pleasure, not giving. Not having it forced on her.

Wanting and accepting and inviting. From someone not Will.

Instead, PD put Emory in Will’s place, with her pursuing pleasure thoughtlessly.

But didn’t we just learn that that type of behavior got Will nowhere? So, why put Emory in that place?

And this is why I say I think the scene was supposed to parallel other scenes but I can’t say for sure, because after a while it gets confusing and tangled. I can’t wrap my head around what this scene was supposed to accomplish narratively other than being spicy.

Maybe like you said, it’s supposed to resolve the issues between Alex and Emory over Will and Aydin. But I don’t see how this puts everyone on even ground.

Narratively, I didn’t mind the shower scene (on a personal level, it's ew). I think it accomplished a lot in bringing the issue to a head. The issue mainly being that Will and Alex are too close and found too much comfort in each other. As much as the plot irritates me, Aydin proving that Alex still thinks of Will as hers, and her attachment to him wasn’t going to just disappear was a point they needed to understand.

But it goes nowhere. Instead, it’s framed as if Emmy doesn’t want it to go away, but wants to be apart of it.

So, in short, I don’t know how to fix the scene within the series as it is. I don't know who to bring in, who to move where, who should do what.

Ultimately, in all of my fix-it ideas, moving NF to the third book is still my go-to. If that were the case, we could bring Damon while he was still at his worst in to play, which might change the dynamics some. Either way, what I think should have happened was a clear shifting in who Will goes to for affection and intimacy. Not Damon, not Alex, but Emory.

Moving NF to the third book also means we don’t have to deal with Alex and Aydin’s relationship right away, which gives Willemmy some room to breathe because the series doesn’t have to resolve everything within the last 100 pages.

I also don’t think MichaelRika and Kaibanks needed to be there. That was weird and kind of useless.

(P.S. I haven’t said this before because it’s not that big a deal, but I kinda hate that Micah’s name is Micah because it means I can’t shorten MichaelRika’s ship name to MiKa. Their ship name is a mouthful as it is.)

I agree with the anon that said about PD's writing shit ass development writing. I feel like a lot of things pd wrote in this series, were really just for shock values that they couldnt integrate and blend well in a more coherent plotting or characterisation. Idk, it does take me out of the story because what the hell was that for? This was the same reaction i had for all the threesomes and orgies in the past 3.5 books too.

i only turned on my laptop so i could type this read more actually.... some weird realisation. putting the internet aside because i’ve probably talked about this a lot in some contexts online but i have not talked to anyone irl about my father’s dying probably ever... yeah i know it probably idk. means something not great about my emotional connectedness with people or whatever but whatever. like all my friends know about it but it is never discussed and i guess it’s ok? whatever. i think the only person i ever told something a bit more to until the past few months is the gemini... he is also the only person i ever told that my father had schizophrenia once when we discussed drugs and mental health.. i dont think i will ever tell this to anyone else tbh just like some other stuff wrt my father i cannot even type online on even the most private of private forums but anyway.

anyway. a few months ago i told a***d about my father it was just like. the general knowledge of died from brain cancer but also i think i may have mentioned something related to emotions and how it felt when he was still alive and meeting him (i think i mentioned it because we were on the wave of personal stuff because he told me some things too) and how weird it felt like meeting some imposter of someone you used to know. anyway earlier we were walking past where we usually go and he said ‘if we continue we’re gonna end up right near [one hospital in hai.fa thats by the sea]’ and then we somehow started discussing hospitals and i told him something i probably never told anyone ever how i for ages had really bad associations with this whole area of the hai.fa beach because when i first met my father after years after he had like brain cancer surgery and was legit a zombie it was at that hospital we mentioned and we met him outside at this balcony that was right by the beach and i just remember how awful that meeting was and that day was and for ages it was like my biggest association with the beach especially in that area there... it was just bad because it reminded me of it....

like not gonna lie it still does especially the area i think of it’s not even really close to that hospital probably needs like 20 mins walking but it looks similar enough to be upsetting. honestly i’ve gone to the beach there plenty of times since that day in 2013 and it always somehow felt like kind of melancholic to me... i went there a lot when i was very very stressed before i started uni, i went there a few times when i had entire mental breakdowns and started telling people i’m gonna drown myself and just sat there crying... i think i mostly went there when i was like extremely especially depressed... it sounds stupid and perhaps lame but it feels like the whole going to the beach thing got a new positive association to me because of a***d... like even from the very first time we went together after work in like may when i didn’t wanna go back home lol. i didnt tell him any of the parts in this paragraph btw i am not that insane but i am like realising this as i am typing... like i still think it is fun to go alone and walk by myself it is serene and good for the brain but it does not feel sad anymore... like all along the way it kinda just reminds me of him now? which is maybe sad in another way if i think about it in a way that makes me sad but it is good in other ways like friendships i guess. idk it’s almost 1 am it’s been a Day
