I decided to share a bit about my Divine Comedy retelling/reimagination I am not sure how to label it. It has Beatrice midway though her mortal life going on a field trip to hell (with Dante included, the boy sure likes revisiting that place I wonder why 🤔).

honestly i love goblin slayer. the whole point of the show is how trauma shapes people... and yet, you can still recover, no matter how slow it is. goblin slayer himself is slowly healing and becoming less mechanical with each adventure he and the rest of his begrudging party takes him on. it’s slow and painful but it’s there. in later volumes of the light novels, he considers others in the town to be friends, willingly takes off his armour at home, and, most importantly, takes breaks from goblin hunting.

this is a man who experienced a horrific amount of trauma and has had no support network up until he re-met with cow girl and started living on her and her uncle’s farm and rescued pristess, who has attached herself to him to form a two man party. eventually, high elf archer, dwarf shaman, and lizard priest also get involved in his party. but he’s healing.

and i’m rooting for him all the way.

me, watching any shounen with any protagonist: ok but izuku midoriya is better

However one interprets her character, Emilie's "Representation" backstory of leaving her rich people home (indicated to be stifling and controlling and a big deal for her to return) to learn and grow and see the world makes her involvement in Adrien being isolated and kept from going to school pretty hypocritical.

YEah......

On one hand, there's the cycle of abuse and continuing what you grew up with not knowing different.

On the other hand, there's her knowing her own situation was fucked but creating the exact situation but worse because since he's a senti Adrien doesn't have an option to escape like she did.

I keep thinking about how on earth they would canonize ggy bc like. at this point if they have to sacrifice Gregory screentime of just him to make something we already know actually canon, I would rather just take the screentime, but on the other hand they have to canonize it if they want to do anything at all with that plotline, and that makes me wonder if theyll stick with it as canon in the games at all or just leave it as background knowledge if u read the book 😭

Reading Patience (the official Aaravos POV short story) reconfirms my theory that Aaravos genuinely has a saviour complex a la Viren's "bright future for humanity." On the surface, yes, he *appears* affectionate towards humanity. He admires their patience, their character, and it's strongly implied he "gifted" them with Dark Magic so as to help them prosper. At the same time, part of his contempt towards Xadia and his kind seems to derive from the way they scorned humanity ("The stars, after all, have no interest in the lives of mortals. The stars are arrogant, blinded by their own incandescent light...") But Aaravos' 'affection' is clearly not without fault. He uses people for his own ends, playing the cosmic game of chess. They're "vessels," puppets, figurines. In many ways, Aaravos is as arrogant and apathetic as his brethren. He, too, dismisses the lives of humans. But the key is that Aaravos sees potential in humans where his brethren don't. He's intrigued by their patience, their character, and we can see that in the way he preys on those with "strong minds and strong hearts." So this 'affection,' such as it is, is Aaravos' way of saying: 'humans have infinite potential, and I wish to help them fulfill it.' And why? Well, he sees an opportunity to be revered, to be worshiped for his greatness and hospitality. He would be the one to share the "brilliant light" of his kind. To be 'the one' that fulfilled humanity's true potential.

And if he's the one that 'saved' humanity, then the "arrogance" of Xadia isn't justified.

Emily of New Moon deserves to have its own Anne with an E. It would work so well too considering the fact that the books are very dark and it would do a good job of expanding the characters, particularly my boy Teddy Kent because he was done dirty in the show from the 90s.

I’ve been watching playthoughts of love and deepspace and tbh the game is one of the best otomes I’ve seen. The amount of detail put into the game actually amazes me.

I would download the game myself but I have no storage and I don’t want to play another gacha game. Also the games a little too intense for me (I say all this but I’ll end up downloading the game within the next week).

like sure its not the biggest thing ever but one of these characters was pouring their heart out to a girl in the rain about how important she is to her and how much she depends on her while a rainbow comes out, has an arc about breaking out of the strict roles her mother forced her into, and literally gets an RGU reference in the anime and a deeply devoted "best friend", and its not jessie. sure none of that is exactly explicit groundbreaking stuff and i personally wouldnt say youre meant to see lillie as bi, but its more than what jessie's got

some time after chapter 3: "ok i get that he has a crush on sonia but like. he's becoming a simp about it. hope that doesn't last"

chapter 4 onwards to the end of the game basically: "???what the fuck have they done to you you annoying little shit"

and my opinion of him now? he's my scrunkly, he's a dumb little bitch baby, he's my little meow meow, a wet tissue paper boy (all said with affection) <3 his design still slaps and i lov him. feels like im doing this 👇🏼 to him in my brain:
