My Souls Hot Takes

Decided to write up a couple of my less popular opinions for souls games. Please don't get upset over any of these, if you disagree that's totally valid

Dark Souls 1:

Bell Gargoyles is my favorite base game boss

I don't like Ornstein and Smough that much

Gwyn's theme is nowhere near as sad or dramatic as its made out to be in my opinion

Painted World isnt fun to me at all

Tomb of the Giants isnt that bad

I miss the whimiscal 80s fantasy aesthetic the series lost in the following entries even if i understand it narratively

Dark Souls 2:

I'm not just a hater or fail to appreciate an underrated gem, I simply dont enjoy this game

I think Darklurker is mid and the runback gimmick is stupid

The world and lore arent that much better to me than any other souls games and dont save the game

Life Gems are actually pretty okay

Old Dragonslayer is really not that big of a deal

Royal Rat Vanguard is the single worst boss in souls to me

Fume Knight is just kinda alright to me, I enjoy Sir Alonne much more

The health cap loss fucking sucks i hate it

Its perfectly fine to both love and hate this game please calm tf down

Corvian Knights are the coolest enemy in the trilogy

I mean, I DO think too many characters have blue eyes. Between Dante, Laurance, Garroth, Katelyn, Zane - thats already the majority of the friend group.

I dont mind the blue hair/blue eyes combo, but Dante AND katelyn having it is a bit much 🤷‍♂️ AND they couldve kept Laurances original colour pallet :( I totally get changing the design bc of the skins, but in MYS theres no lore reason for Laur having blue eyes so at least they shouldve been green right??? Im also devastated hes not ginger but alas <\3

I think overtime the girls in the show have less variety, particularly in the hair. No different lengths or anything. I mean, just take Cadenza! She has longass hair in s1 but it eventually gets cut the same length as Kate, KC and Aph. The girl with THE most variety in character design - and probably one of the best designs imo - is Kim, and i literally couldnt tell you a single one of her character traits other than 'possessed'. Her highlights are different and I like her colour pallet.

The guys all look... kinda similar too. But they did well differing them in little ways, like hair partings and such. I do want Laurance's long hair back tho. Jess dont be a coward give us ling hair ginger laurance

I think its very funny that Laurance has ABSOLUTELY NO fashion sense, but i would like clothes to be more consistent! I like Dante's outfit with the button up/button up/shirt combo, even if it was ridiculous it felt in character - although its a shame that after Aarmau was made canon no other character could wear purple or red, because dante looked good in red!! I love Garroth's hawaiian shirt getup and they should bring that vibe back for him for sure.

this isnt so much an issue with character designs because. minecraft. but there arent many different body types. Like, I think Aphmau and Zane are fat, and then Travis has broad shoulders (according to 1 line of dialogue in s1, and hes still buff). and everyone else is just somewhere on the sims4 slider of skinny and strong.

All in all im torn abt Luci because I think its cute for her to be the odd one out (as i said in my If-I-Was-Tasked-With-Rewriting-Mystreet post), but thats clearly not the intention and you kinda forget shes a witch at all. Which would be cool if it was brought up? idk. Her black dress + bow was her best outfit i think. The red eyes and the bright ginger hair is a lot on the eyes and the black is a good combo for that.

TBH, the only Aph outfit I liked was the one from Season 3, but her current skin (non-mystreet) is actually very cute. I like it a lot

People have said this a lot, but one BIG issue i have with the mys designs is the colour pallets. Im a big fan of shows where one character is heavily associated with one colour, and though this doesnt HAVE to be the case for Mystreet, Id like then to be consistent. Kate's colour has always been blue, Travis' colour has always been green, Aph/Aaron Purple/red, Kc pink, zane black/grey, and Garroth is usually blue. but Dante, Laurance, Lucinda, Melissa, etc have had some super inconsistent ones.

One character design that I like across the series is actually KC. Once they know how to pair the pinks and black/white well, they do pretty well with it! Its just a lot of pink and easy to get wrong. but they do well

Travis' also isnt that bad, the outfit of his i really remember was fhe green hoodie and black trousers which felt correct.

To go back to the eye colours, Its fun to see Jess' thought process bc like. almost ALL of her love interests have blue eyes except aaron? idk. food for thought.

I m not sure about the album pruchase thing exactly but seems like u get to do a video call with them if u get lucky and the chances are extreemely low i saw a video on where a girl purchased around 10 albums but didnt got lucky and in my opinion even the chance u get from album purchase are even not worth it bcoz u cant fully feel people’s energies from just a short video call unless u two have a deep connection before or unless u r good at rizzing up😭 they have even talked to a lot of fans and some of the idols seems like they dont wanna be doing the v call . I genuine want to spend time with them and know them better , like - are they really like that ( like they show themselves on screens ? Or are they even kinder underneath ) and cant be sure whether they will like us or not🥲 i will grab the opportunity if smone grants me that chance of having a video call with them but i m just worried about the lack of intrest they are likely going to have bcoz its not a real life interaction and they had done it more than 100 times🥲

I think it will be really better if the ammount of those crazy tickets gets lower .. i m not saying u shouldnt go to their concerts i m happy if anybody gets to interact with them ( u go girl ! is there a reason for this headcanon for you? some people have said it's cos his body type lends itself to the skinny guy + big dick stereotype... others use it as a manifestation of mike's character itself, which is unrealistic because being a leader doesnt equal having a big dick lol, but it also doesnt mean he won't have one? it's just character detail and i don't mind people who want their paladin to have a big p haha. So, decisions have to be made if you're reading/writing explicit content. You're gonna imagine what the characters look like. Nitty gritty, down to the dirty details (mostly - I have heard some people don't even really actually envision things when they write/read but are still fully immersed which is fascinating... but off topic!). So yeah, I'm gonna picture body hair and what they look like naked and how they look when they fuck and what their face probably does during orgasm. And dicks. In detail. I like dick. Not hiding that haha.

With these two guys, I do like that there's a dichotomy you can picture with them. Real life doesn't have to be like this (but it can be!), but it's fiction, so whatever. I like when there's a physical difference in a pairing. I like a height difference, a size difference. I like tall skinny flat assed but lithely muscled Mike and I like smaller but soft and curvy Will. I like well endowed Mike and I like small to average Will. The match up is just nice! And it's hot! The size difference is hot. Big dicks, small, average - all fine by me irl and genuinely does not matter. But it's fiction so we can imagine and play. Sometimes I like a super sweet, piles on the flattery size queen Will, and I like a Mike who can easily deep throat Will and who also likes being able to get his big hands around both of them while jacking them both off. That's all just... fun. Sure. That's the word! Godddddd 🙈🙈

More ramblings about the special program and trailer under the cut bc I have a lot to say. Seriously this post is LONG.

Trailer thoughts!!

I’ll go into thoughts on the scenery/environments/aesthetics first

As usual, it looks incredible. Genshin really knocks the aesthetics and environments out of the park. The city and the world outside it look beautiful, the underwater is full of life and i know I’m gonna get lost in there for hours. The seal(?) looking things are cute, even though it uh. Looks like one of them might be a ghost. The ruins look super interesting, and i think i spy an oceanid? We’ve been getting quite a lot of lore on them recently, between the Realm of Farakhkert and the most recent event. They’re almost definitely gonna have a part to play in the archon quest. It also showed us what appear to be some of the new world bosses, the crab-looking thing and those dancing robots in the second half.

Before i go into thoughts on the story, I’ll just start by saying that I’m really looking forward to where the story is going. Sumeru’s archon quest was leaps and bounds above Inazuma’s (in my opinion,) so I hope they can keep that momentum going.

Right from the start, they’re presenting quite a few plot threads in the trailer. The prophecy about the people “dissolving into the waters” is certainly foreboding.

There’s also that structure in the stormy water surrounded by ruins that we see twice, and some kind of creature (possibly an oceanid?) that doesn’t know who it is, followed by someone (Lynette, i think) saying “the water is gradually swallowing our memories… it won’t be long until it swallows us.” This is definitely connected to prophecy, and given the memory thing it’s probably related to the possibly-oceanid.

What is the Oratrice? All they give us is that it has a consciousness when it’s probably not supposed to, and it can talk in coherent sentences. I’m guessing it’s related to the clockwork robots in some way, maybe controlling them and causing them to go rogue?

Some clockwork stops, Navia comments on the rain, and Lynette quite literally dissolves into the water. Is the “Oratrice” the one causing the prophecy to come true?

I’m already betting on a Sabzeruz Festival-esque 0 to 100 where everything goes from ‘fun cute having fun experiencing the culture’ to ‘what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck’ real fast.

There’s the secondary conflict, Fontaines fucked up justice system that’s been hinted at for so long! The spectacle of the courtroom, baby. The Gang Becomes Enemies Of The State Part 4.

In the scene where the Traveler and Navia are surrounded by the Gardemeks, Traveler doesn’t seem to be doing so hot. You okay, buddy?

And also Childe. Mister Worldwide is back. Surprise bitch, bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.

As for characters, it sounds like we’re gonna be meeting Focalors pretty early. Still can’t tell if she’s an ally, enemy, or something else entirely.

Looks like Navia will be featured heavily in the early acts! I love her aesthetic, especially the parasol in the overture teaser. She seems to have beef with the way the government/judicial system is running things. I’m considering pulling for her on aesthetic alone, but I already have good Geo units so that might sway me.

Lyney and Lynette are intriguing. Lyney is a 5-star while his siblings are both 4-stars. I was expecting him to be a catalyst unit tbh, the bow is a bit of a surprise. They’ve both got cat motifs, but Lynette is the only one to have actual ears and a tail.

Freminet! If they actually manage to make The Bell good on him… hats off. It’ll be interesting to see what his relationship with his siblings is like. Lyney and Lynette are such a duo, so I’d guess there’s probably gonna be some tension there.

Neuvillette seems to be taking an antagonistic role, but is that just the nature of his career? He’s seen in the audience of Lyney and Lynette’s show, so maybe he’s not a total hard ass when he’s not working, but for better or worse (probably worse, at least early on) he takes his job seriously. Villain or adversary? We’ll see.

Clorinde makes a brief appearance! I’m 90% sure I’m going to pull for her. I love her design and I need a good electro unit. I can’t tell if she’s an antagonist or not, she seems to be fighting Navia and the Traveler, but a few shots later she’s destroying the Gardemeks. We’ll see!

Also Navia using Whiteblind and and Clorinde using Iron Sting hmmmmmmmmmmm 👀 dare I say it.

I also spotted Charlotte a few times, but she didn’t have much of a presence in this trailer.

No Arlecchino, Sigewinne, or Wriothesley yet, but what’s this??? It’s Childe with a steel chair!

All in all, the trailer was really good. It’s got me very excited for the new areas and story, and was just put together really well. They’ve come a long way with their version trailers.

Onto the rest of the program!

I really appreciate that they didn’t put an oxygen/regular stamina bar on underwater swimming, and the fact that they did that specifically so players can explore to their hearts content without having to watch a meter every second is really nice. Just from seeing them talk about it, it’s clear that they’ve put a lot of thought, time, and work into the environment, movement, and pseudo-combat in the interest of keeping the experience fun and user-friendly.

Arkhe… I’ll have to experience it in-game. The lore implications are interesting, but I’m not sure how I feel about it’s supposed effect on gameplay. I guess it encourages players to try out Fontaine characters, but I’m not sold on it just yet.

In that fight with the baton-wielding Meka… I saw that red crossed out plus symbol above the health bar. We are so fucking back. We are SO FUCKING BACK. They laughed at us when the rifthounds came out. They laughed at us when the black serpent knights came out. Who’s laughing now. VIVA LA SHIELDS, MOTHERFUCKER.

So this strange energy source was invented “over 400 years ago”…….. and the fact that it’s called an “annihilation reaction”……… suspicious.

A machine that harvests people’s belief in justice and uses it to power everything in the city…… man there’s no way this could possibly end up leading to corruption in the judicial system.

Praying to every god imaginable that they don’t fumble the morally gray characters.

I won’t go into detail on the state of my wishes at the moment but… hoo boy. These banners are not being very nice to me. My pity is high but I only want the four stars. Pain pain pain.

CLORINDE HAS A ~COMPLICATED~ CONNECTION WITH NAVIA 👀 👀 👀

The Icewind Suite boss looks so cool… I love the figure skating inspiration.

“The first underwater areas you reach are actually shallow seas. Since it’s the travelers first time diving we wanted to make sure the underwater experience is comfortable for players :)” oh I just know they’re gonna send us into the Mariana Trench later on. Wether it’s one update from now or five, it’s gonna happen. And I’m gonna be terrified the whole time.

I honestly feel so bad for cartman fans sometimes. I see so much hate coming across my dash for him where people are like "oh, nobody ever feel any empathy towards him" or "nobody better start thinking he's redeemable" like god damn. he's a little kid who's been abused and neglected. And imo all children are redeemable. doesn't mean we have to excuse his bad actions, but it's called having nuance.

Yeah I feel that. As soon as I start reading a post that talks about Cartman like that, I just don't even finish and keep scrolling tbh. Everyone's going to have their own opinions and Cartman has done a lot of shitty things, so I get why people hate him. I just hate the fact that those same people tend to talk a lot of shit on the people that do see the potential in him. It's okay to like bad, toxic, and even irredeemable characters and fandoms arent just always what's strictly canon. It's about the fun you can have by taking the character and doing whatever the hell you want with it, bc they're not real. You can pick and choose whatever you like, or you can try and be as canon as possible, but everyone sees things differently.

Cartman is such a complex character. There's so much to him. And you're right, he is just a kid, so who knows what could happen! Cartman has had a lot of different endings so like I said, pick and choose, or make up your own! Cartman fans get a lot of hate, but try and scroll past it or block those people and just enjoy what you like. Everyone else can suck a dick.

honestly my opinion on ai stuff has become. that i really dont give a shit if it isn't being used commercially.

i dont think its "real" art or writing. its just taking a copy of one of my works, cutting it up into little pieces, and shoving it in a computer so a computer can spit something else back out. on that level i dont rly give a shit. you're just having a silly time. its for personal fun. just like how i wouldnt care if someone like idk printed out my fic and cut up the words to make a collage and hung it on their fridge (except that would be more creative tbh). if you're just having fun with it i don't care. a computer can't really commit plagiarism because it's a computer and i'm prob not even gonna really see it or be effected by it

the problem i do have is when companies take my shit, cut it up, feed it to an ai, the ai spits something out, and then they go "see? we're gonna replace you" and actively make creative fields hostile to artists and writers and other creatives. bc like. no you arent replacing us but you are sure utilizing capitalism to enact even more suffering on workers who are frequently fucked over on repeat and whos labor is devalued constantly.

other creatives will have different opinions. imo i made peace with the fact i can't tell ppl what to do entirely with my stuff once it's online (i CAN control reuploads and ppl stealing my stuff/using it without credit, but i mean like. if a kid prints out my fanart and puts it on their wall im not rly gonna know nor care if theyre just having fun on their own time). but i can also respect artists who are like "no, i dont like it, not even for fun, not even for lack of profits, i don't like it" because their work is deeply personal to them and feels disrespectful and creepy. it's a nuanced discussion.

then id like to say the exact same about matt, but hed omitted details like jims involvement which was just appalling to hear about from lex. he seemed more about setting things straight as the first vid while ryan could let people reference matt for info and just apologize for his own involvement, so it was weird how matt skirted around jim. I’ve always loved reality TV and I don’t tend to judge people based on what’s shown on reality television because it’s a stressful environment, with lots of editing and often production interference into interpersonal drama. That said, I do like discussing what I see as well (I just don’t see it as a be all end all of someone’s personality). I’ve seen some hate for Seonwoo on other social media platforms and it’s making me sad! I do think he’s frustrating, but tbh I’m enjoying watching him as a reality-TV lover lol. I don’t particularly think he’s malicious or manipulative, I think he’s mostly just very insecure and so deep in his people pleasing ways it’s hard for him to snap out of it even if that’s what would be best. If he does like Sungho I do want him to go for it! I’m rooting for the roommates, but on a dating show anyone is fair game. That said, I think based on what he’s says on the show he’s still figuring himself out. He says he only started coming out a week before filming, which means he spent 30+ years hiding a big part of himself. Korea is obviously a homophobic country and he probably struggled a lot with his identity. He said he feels uncomfortable watching queer movies, which could be for a lot of reasons but could also be more evidence of his insecurity. I don’t think he’s a bad person, but I think he probably grew up with a big fear that people finding out about his sexuality would make them not like him, and he really wants to be liked and that seems to carry over to the way he’s approaching romantic relationships. I’m not sure he’s intentionally leading people on in a mean way as much as he’s just like desperate to please people and to not have anyone dislike him and he’s afraid if he straight up rejects someone they will dislike him. It’s endlessly frustrating as a viewer but as a person I kinda just want to give him a hug lol.

thank you so much for this anon it’s literally like you read into the crevices of my mind. when i started watching this show with my mom and sisters (yes it’s a whole family affair now) and they turned against seonwoo quickly, this is the narrative i also gave them as a counter to their arguments. and i do largely agree with it, and agree that it explains to some extent his behaviour on the show. fundamentally, he is a people pleaser. i thought that from the moment he walked in, that smiley disposition and how chatty he was, how easily he could interact and tease people, it just all fed in to that typical image of a ‘nice guy’. but then he also has his gayness, which clashes with his need to please people and have them like him bc he’s in a society where the prevailing opinion is still that gayness is not a norm, so him being gay stops him from pleasing people, stops people from liking him, which would only exacerbate his behaviour bc he feels like he has to cover or make up for that part of himself by being that much more nice and likeable. and even now he’s on a show where that isn’t a problem, he can’t get out of this headspace he’s been in the majority of his life where being himself and those inner, core things about him, his real thoughts and feelings, are unlikeable, so it only makes sense that he needs time to adjust after coming out, and we’re seeing him right at the start of that journey so of course he still has a ways to go.

having said that, I don’t think he is completely innocent, which is not anything against him bc this is still a game, even putting aside the show even just the love triangle or dating itself is somewhat of a game. when you go out on dates or interact with people with the goal to form a relationship, people generally arent always themselves, be it wanting to be their best version or not wanting to give away all of themselves until a deeper connection forms. there’s many ways to go about forming a relationship and I don’t think relationships inherently have more merit just bc both parties were entirely themselves from day one. it’s all to say I don’t inherently dislike seonwoo bc he isn’t being 100% honest, and if anything him not behaving this way would be more dishonest if this is just part of who he is. but I do believe that he is aware of his behaviour, aware of how he’s trying to control and lead certain relationships, bc there is intent there. thinking off the top of my head, when he slid the mission card for junsung to read about picking dates, knowing he was going on a date with sungho and junsung missed out, there was intent behind that to be smug, at least that’s how I saw it. or when, after a talk with hyungjin where hyungjin said he didn’t like his personality, he kept going to feed him, there’s intent behind that to mend that relationship and gain back some favour bc he doesn’t want someone to dislike him. and right there you have an example of him just doing something that I saw as bad intent and something that I saw as good intent, which is to say I don’t think he is malicious or bad as a person, but that he does undeniably display some of those behaviours sometimes. there is only so far you can take reasons and explanations for behaviours until everything is written off, which is why for me with seonwoo I have this threshold almost, of what I can see is this complex he has manifesting, and what despite all that has ill intent.

and just like you said anon, it’s all to say that this is me taking the bare bones of a person and what is presented of them in a show and creating my idea of that person that i see when I watch it. that’s what people do, and I can’t help but get annoyed when people try to criticise having and developing an opinion of someone on tv like you’re supposed to just be totally separate to and subjective of everything you watch. yes, I might handle things with more care and understanding and nuance when it’s reality tv bc the bare bones of these people are real, but just as you expand and form canon around characters, I do that with these people too, and if I have enough mental understanding to know that the idea of someone I have in my head is different from who that person actually is, bc that is someone I can never and will never know fully, then just like… leave me to have my fun pls. bc it is all fun. I have never one said and would outright reject the idea that seonwoo is not fantastic tv, and the season would not be able to carry these storylines without him. you can hate the villain for what they do to the heroes, and for all their bad qualities, but still love what they bring to the story, and even revel in those bad qualities bc they are so fun to watch. when im yelling at seonwoo to stop being a gossip or holding onto sungho or leading on yonghee, im having the best time. and when he takes someone to the side for a private conversation, I can’t lie, I have the biggest evil grin on my face thinking yes what mess do we have in store this time. seonwoo is just that person, you want to hate him, you want to comfort him, and you just can’t look away while he creates chaos.

For starters I actually agree with you that short clothing isn't inherently sexual. (I'm not sure what you mean by lesser clothing, but I'm pretty sure you're referring to Halloween costumes so I'll leave it for now.) but that doesn't negate the fact that girls' clothing is sexualised. Don't get me wrong, boys' clothing can be sexualised too but I've seen it more often with girls' clothes.

On average girls' clothes are normally shorter and more form fitting/tighter than boys' clothes, to the point where (mostly) mothers have launched campaigns against it. (i think one of them is let girls be kids or something like that. the name has gone away from my mind.)

I think it's highly obvious that the female body is incredibly sexualised in today's society. In my opinion, that starts from childhood. We're all so exposed to sexuality in media because 'sex sells' and companies like to make money. Meaning we are constantly fed sex in the media, whether you are looking at sexual content or not.

Little girls are not only provided with shorter, more form-fitting clothing from a young age, but they are also being pressured or influenced by social media to be adults. Which I'm pretty sure every kid wants to grow up (e.g 'when im an adult im gonna eat all the sweets i want/buy all the toys i want') but the issue with little girls being almost groomed in a way to 'grow up' and act like adults leads to things like 'Sephora Kids' who believe that they need retinol, as like, ten year olds. Even if you want to argue that little girls' clothing isn't sexualised, then you can atleast acknowledge that these types of clothing help to put a greater emphasis on looks, which; lets be real here, will lead to insecurity and has no doubt helped the rise of things like 'Sephora Kids'. My heart geniunely breaks for the new gen of girls.

Whichever way you want to put it, clothing is shaped and influenced by the society creating it, and in a society where certian things are so normalised, women who do choose to dress more modestly are often called into question, you said it yourself, "...people would be wondering why im not wearing a two peace or sth." It's normalised and even expected of women (in western countries) to wear more 'revealling'* clothes, to the point where often women who don't are questioned.

*again, i dont think revealling is the right word, my brain is fryed rn 😔✊, also though i dont have an office job seeing as im still in highschool i'd imagine its a little different for 'office attire' (business attire?) man idk

As for Plastic Surgery, I brought it up once and in passing in my previous post, as you can see here:

Although I'll go more in depth on my dislike for plastic surgery but to clarify, I am not talking about people who get plastic surgery who really need it for restorative/reconstructive purposes, for example burn survivors or women with severe backpain who get breast reductions etc.

My problem with people getting plastic surgery is that our choices don't exist in a vacuum and can influence so many things around us. This is especially true for social media. The very premise of cosmetic surgery as we see it popularised today is shady. We should not be teaching young people, inadvertently or not, that their natural faces need to be 'fixed' for their insecurities to just magically disappear.

That being said I would never harass or shame someone for getting cosmetic surgery, but we shouldn't act like cosmetic surgery is completely harmless. Most people who get surgeries like that are deeply insecure about themselves, which leads them to receiving plastic surgery in the first place.

Which is another problem I have with the industry. It profits off of your insecurities, creates new insecurities and then offers women the 'solution' along with a price tag. That is extremely prefatory, no matter how you present it.

I have a question: Why should removing your ethnic nose make you feel more empowered or pretty?

I would mention (cosmetic) labiaplasties which I remember hearing are really really painful. But honestly as a minor I don't really feel comfortable going into depth about it. But still I just would like to mention it in passing.

The industry perpetuates a really weird mix of fetishising certian features of women of colour and demonising others. On top of this it also manages to reinstate eurocentric beauty standards.

Said beauty standards are often unattainable without Cosmetic Surgery, and I've seen people discussing how plastic surgery creates a 'class divide' but honestly I don't really know a lot about that, so I'll just mention it in passing.

The thing is, all of these issues are connected from societal perception and socialisation for example. Many women and girls attempt to fit into these insane beauty standards and often are unable to reach them. It's a lose lose situation for women and girls. The plastic surgery industry further raises that already unattainable bar.

I don't like the normalisation of plastic surgery in society because it is insanely predatory and I'd even go as fat as to say it's misogynistic in nature. (Especially referring to internalised misogyny.)

No one needs lip fillers or fox eye lifts.

Moving onto Halloween costumes and judging the 'existing halloween costumes'. (in my original post I mentioned 'sexy' nuns and 'sexy' schoolgirl costumes for context.)

From a secular/non-religious POV, it is insanely clear that nuns do NOT want to be sexualised. Even if you think you're sticking it to christianity by wearing a 'sexy' nun costume, surely you can recognise that the people you're really disrespecting are women who mainly dedicate their lives to helping the needy. While yes there are and were bad nuns, that doesn't excuse fetishising and dehumanising the profession as a whole.

I wouldn't wish objectification or fetishisation on anyone no matter what they'd done.

Another honourable mention that I didn't touch on in my original post is Native Americans. Have you seen halloween costumes of Indigenous Americans? Especially the sexualised ones. They're geniunely disgusting, and the choice to wear those costumes doesn't exist in a vacuum either. MMIW is still a prevelant issue.

I'm sorry you were forced to dress modestly all the time that must've sucked, if women feel confident wearing more form-fitting or revealling clothes more power to them liek but if you're feeling 'sexy' by dressing up as an oversexualised child or religious figure then you need to look inwards.

To end as well, the issue isn't with getting companies to make more modest clothing, while yest that would be nice, that doesn't take away from costumes that are produced by these halloween costume companies that are down right fetishistic. The issue is with society at large.

Women and girls are already so sexualised in media and on a personal level. Companies aren't our friends, and they certiantly aren't the friends of women and girls.
