Its raining birds! Literally.
Aka a DCxDP Prompt idea where a delrious injured vigilante (Tim cough cough) drops into an alternate dimension and lands in Amity Park. Somewhere in his muddled mind he understands he needs to: communicate, get help, and hopefully not die!
Luckily he dropped right beside a bewildered local group of friends around his age.
The local brave group of friends (definitely not Team Phantom or anything hahah) of course interogate him a bit out of worry for their town and for this mysterious vigilante. They ask—"who are you? what is your name?"
And of course being literally delirious with a shit ton of ‘dont tell people your real life identity’ drilled into him he opts to say instead—
His words slur into a somewhat legible, “…red r'bin.” “Red Robhim” “m’ Red Robin...”
Good news is that they’re eager to help.
Bad news is that they have no idea what to make of this odd vigilante’s response....
Like seriously why does this delirious half injured vigilante that fell out of the sky want to go to a Red Robin so badly?? the food there isn't even that good???
So, essentially, Team Phantom is greeted by a random half out of it injured vigilante teen who really wants some fucking burgers apparently.
(Basically Tim unfortunately lands injured and very out of it in a universe where the Red Robin restaurant exists but Red Robin and, evidently, the entire DC universe, doesn’t.)

Chapter 5: Rocky Road
——————
Techno certainly didn’t expect Tubbo’s sudden outburst. Still Techno sort of expected bitterness towards the human.
The droneling marched off presumably to go to the garden. He shoved Wilbur out of the way and continued speaking gibberish.
“What’s with Tubbo?” The phantom asked, casting worried glances towards the door.
“He just threatened the human.” Techno said as if it wasn’t the most stupid move on Tubbo’s part. Wilbur’s eyes grew wide and he attempted to run to the holding cell, only to be stopped by Techno’s hand on his shoulder. The phantom sighed before turning towards the guard.
Silently the pair made their way to the common room. Flicking on the illusion projector, and turning the channel with the ISF news. Techno opened a novel not paying any mind to the news reporter who was going over the case that Techno had just escaped.
There weren't any further advances on the story other than what they knew. The ship had crashed on Omar, a nature preserve, which led the ISF to find eight human bodies and twelve recognized crew members. Though there were fourteen to begin with, not that the news knew that of course. The ship was also deemed as a poacher ship and not much else was discovered.
After the story was covered a different news reporter came on screen. He was shifting his papers nervously and glanced down every so often. This caused Techno to close his novel and pay attention to the illusion.
“Just one day ago, one of the Dream Team crew members quit.” The news reporter took a shaky breath before continuing, “Today the crew has reported that the ex-crew member had taken one of the humans they were using for testing.” A picture of Tommy appeared on screen, “This is what the human looks like. We advise citizens to be on the lookout for this man,” a picture of Wilbur popped onto the screen, “and the human. If you see either one in public do not engage and immediately report it to one of your stationed guards.” The man finished and Wilbur immediately flicked off the TV.
Him and Techno shared a glance of pure shock. Wilbur shed a couple blue tears and immediately started panicking. The guard wrapped his brother until a tight hug and fought off the voices chants of “NOT SAFE”. Silence drew the pair into an unsteady atmosphere.
——————
“Honestly that kid is a burden. I don’t know why you think we can take care of him.” A lady said, fury wasn’t hidden behind a fake smile at this point. The man standing next to her nodded silently.
“Ma’am, I don't understand what you’re saying.” Another lady responded, patience running thin.
Tommy held back the tears that were threatening to fall. His lip was already bleeding and his fingers felt raw. His bruises were itching uncomfortably under his tight shirt. He was starting to overheat, yet kept his jacket wrapped around him protectively.
“What I am saying is, we don’t want him, and I doubt anyone else will.” The lady started, “That kid is a nuisance. He makes our children look problematic, when in reality he is the problem child. I don’t understand how his parents put up with him for so long.” The lady finished.
“Only my mother put up with me,” Tommy thought, “my father couldn’t spare me a glance without yelling at me..”
He sat in the waiting room for what felt like hours before making the decision. The one that caused him to live on the streets.
He took his bag and sprinted out of the facility. He just kept running, nowhere to go and no money to use.
….
Suddenly it was a different night. He was sitting on a park bench looking at the stars. He was somewhere in Colorado, not sure how he made it here, but here he was. He breathed in the fresher air and pushed himself up.
He turned left then right then another left. At this point he was on one of those nature paths that seemed to be everywhere.
He sat in a field. Wasn’t it night?
A light and a huge gust of wind was the only response he got.
Then footsteps. A distant scream. Then cold sharp pain accompanied by a void of darkness.
He woke up in a cage..
He shot up in bed.. His head throbbed, but there was no point in sleeping it off.
So he got up. He hobbled over to the bookshelf and looked at the weird games and toys. His eyes fell on what he presumed to be a stack of cards and a pen of sorts.
It took an hour to label all the cards, but when he finally did he played a game of solitaire. Then another and another. By the time he finished the sixth one he was bored.
He went back to inspecting the bookshelf. The middle shelf had jigsaw puzzles.. didn’t Clem like puzzles?
He picked out what he presumed to be a flower field. There were a bunch of blue sunflowers.. wasn’t that her favorite flower?
Tommy sat on the floor creating a puzzle his sister would’ve absolutely adored. Silent tears slipped down his cheeks every once and a while. Only to be hastily wiped away.
——————
His eyes felt like they were glued shut. They attempted to sit up only to find creaks in their back and neck.
After a minute he sat up. His mind was still foggy from sleep, but he made his way to the security office, ready to work through his sleep deprived state.
Before they even left the room Phil told them to go back to rest. Ranboo obliged, and closed his door.
Having no work left he decided to write down as much information as he could about both Earth and Tommy.
Surprisingly they were able to recall a lot of information from the night before. That usually didn’t happen..
Once they wrote an entire dictionary on both topics, they tried the door again.
Phil, once again stepped in front of them, “Mate, I really think you should rest.”
“I know, but I am hungry. Can I at least have lunch?” Ranboo felt like a child once again, but knew it always worked with the captain.
After Phil rolled his eyes, Ranboo practically skipped to the kitchen. He grabbed some of the leftovers from last night and popped it into the insta-heater. Making two plates of food.
After the food was ready he looked down either hallway. Phil was preoccupied with Wilbur in the common room. Deciding it was the best time to sneak to his friend, he made his way to the holding cell. Only to be stopped by none other than Techno himself.
“Oh! H-hi Techno..” Ranboo said awkwardly.
“What are you doing?”
“I-I was just getting Tubbo some lunch!” Ranboo cringed at their own lie. Only to be met with a raised eyebrow.
“Ok I was gonna visit Tommy.” Ranboo caved. That was the right answer as Techno nodded and let Ranboo pass.
“You’re only giving him lunch right?” Techno inquired.
“Er- that and talk a bit.. I mean that was my original plan.”
“Then I will stay with you.” Techno left no room for debate.
Ranboo nodded and approached the cell, setting the plate on the automatic tray. Techno stood in a small hallway allowing his presence only to be known to Ranboo.
Tommy was sitting on the floor putting together a landscape puzzle.
With what they saw, their curiosity intrigued them.
“Can I go in?” He asked first to Techno who shifted off of the wall.
“Only if I am in there.” Ranboo nodded and turned to Tommy who was busy with the puzzle.
Ranboo knocked on the window once. Tommy’s head shot up before the human stood up and approached the window.
“Hello!” Ranboo chirped, “I can see you’re working on a puzzle! I would love to help if you want? Me and my friend won’t go in if you don’t want me in there. But just so you know I brought lunch!”
Tommy stared at the enderian before answering. He was clearly debating the options.
“Only if Techno doesn’t talk.” Was the only response either got.
With that they grabbed the food and let the door open. Techno entered first, immediately going to the back chair and pulling out a novel. Ranboo handed Tommy a plate and sat next to the strange human.
It didn’t take them long for them to start rambling. Both about everything and nothing.
Surprisingly Ranboo lost all fear that should’ve been gripping them, and felt comfortable sitting with one of the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy.
——————
“So people are looking for you?” The captain asked, impatiently tapping his foot against the metal floor.
“To put it simply, yea..” Wilbur said pretty much losing all confidence within the span of an hour.
The caption responded with a sympathetic look and wrapped his son in another tight hug. Wilbur didn’t pull away this time. He melted into comfort.
After a minute the elder pulled away, “How about you watch one of those documentaries you like. I will make some iced fluff and join you in a bit.” The phantom nodded and trugged himself over to the common room sofa. Turning on the illusion and flicking to one of the only things the ISF was allowing people to view from Earth, Netflix.
He skimmed the documentary section and came upon one that was about the Ocean. Three minutes later he was completely into it.
Phil returned with two bowls of iced fluff. Wilbur dug into the sweet treat. Phil sat next Will and wrapped a wing around him, to which Will leaned into the embrace.
——————
“So what’s your favorite treat?” Ranboo asked, after he got another piece Tommy wasn’t able to get.
Tommy scoffed, mumbling about how he was just about to try that spot before answering the question, “I love Rocky Road Ice Cream. My mom made it without nuts so it is far superior to anything anyone would get from a store.” Tommy was satisfied with his answer and tried another piece.
“Hmm.. What is ice cream?”
“It’s a sweet frozen cream of sorts.”
“Oh so like iced fluff?”
“No idea, I would have to try it first..”
Both continued the conversation mumbling about other different foods and what not, before falling into a comfortable silence.
Tubbo was absolutely furious at the scene. He sprinted off to the garden where he slammed the door and melted to the floor.
When was the last time anyone had a conversation that was about everything and nothing with him?
He hated the fact he was jealous over a fucking human.
Tomorrow was the day he would prove the human wasn’t all he seemed to be. That the human was nothing more than a monster.

Notes: I still have a few filler chapters, but am getting there!!
Go take care of yourself, love ya!! <3
Reminder likes are appreciated but reblogs are even better! (Suggestion make a side blog where you just spam creators works... just saying, I have one..)
Also my layout for chapters has changed a bit. I have the last chapter at the top and the next one at the bottom.. and no I am not doing the inspired by on Ao3, simply cause it’s easier for people to see it in the first few, I am keeping it here tho, cause I know people aren’t really gonna see my first chapter right away. I will be keeping the link to the first chapter at the top as well just not the middle ones.

Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace The New Batman Superman Adventures
Tumblr media
Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern chase a time-traveling villain to the past, where they team up with the greatest heroes of the Old West.
The Justice League's adventures in time take them to a futuristic Gotham City, where they join forces with that era's Batman and his super team: The Justice League Unlimited.
When the evil Trade Federation plots to take over the peaceful planet of Naboo, Jedi warrior Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi embark on an amazing adventure to save the planet. With them on their journey is the young Queen Amidala, Gungan outcast Jar Jar Binks, and the powerful Captain Panaka, who will all travel to the faraway planets of Tatooine and Coruscant in a futile attempt to save their world from Darth Sidious, leader of the Trade Federation, and Darth Maul, the strongest Dark Lord of the Sith to ever wield a lightsaber.
The evil Trade Federation, led by Nute Gunray is planning to take over the peaceful world of Naboo. Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to confront the leaders. But not everything goes to plan. The two Jedi escape, and along with their new Gungan friend, Jar Jar Binks head to Naboo to warn Queen Amidala, but droids have already started to capture Naboo and the Queen is not safe there. Eventually, they land on Tatooine, where they become friends with a young boy known as Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon is curious about the boy, and sees a bright future for him. The group must now find a way of getting to Coruscant and to finally solve this trade dispute, but there is someone else hiding in the shadows. Are the Sith really extinct? Is the Queen really who she says she is? And what’s so special about this young boy?
I’ve never experienced such delay in cartoons airing on TV as I have with the DC Animated shows. Ever since Superman: The Animated Series massive delays started it, it seems to have spilled over into every DC show since. Batman Beyond had it’s “Unmasked”, Justice League had it’s last half of Season 1 and almost all of Season 2 delayed for what seemed like forever, and now Justice League Unlimited it hitting every bump in the road: schedule changes, generic delays and problems with the episodes themselves, resulting in send-backs to the animation studios. “The Once and Future Thing” has been nearly every fans most anticipated story arc this season, and we’ve been waiting ever since June since the loglines were released. So was it worth the wait and agonizing speculation? Nothing ever is; fans over hype things to the point of exhaustion and by the time the episode airs everything’s been inadvertently spoiled via a careless lack of a spoiler warning. Nothing in this first part of “The Once and Future Thing” surprised me; things that would’ve excited me was the re-appearance of Jonah Hex (not seen since Batman: The Animated Series “Showdown”), Batman Beyond, Future Static and Warhawk’s appearance and the whole “Dad?!” line (I know I read somewhere that was going to happen). The Return of the Joker Jokerz gang did surprise me though, albeit if they are a bit changed (more on that later).
Where was I? “The Once and Future Thing” starts off with our first look at Future Gotham since Static Shock’s “Future Shock” crossover, bringing an already exciting mood to the episode (Batman Beyond is one of my all-time favorites, so I may be biased); we then meet the mastermind behind the episode, Chronos (“David Clinton” for those who are picky since “Chronos” was never directly named in the episode, aside from a quick throwaway comment on his suit). After a humorous scene with his verbally abusive wife, we’re thrown into present where he’s attempting to steal Batman’s utility belt from the Watchtower. The first odd thing in the episode occurs here: if an “intruder” alarm is sounded on the Watchtower, a supposedly impregnable fortress, wouldn’t more than just three heroes run to investigate? Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman bolt right as the alarm sounds, while everyone else in the surrounding lunch room just sits and gabs away. I realize that’s probably an unavoidable hole due to only wanting Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman to be the time travelers, but it’s still a bit odd, none the less. Before you sit down to watch this episode, you have to keep in mind that not all things are going to make sense; it’s time travel and that always manages to screw something up. We have mechanical Pterodactyls and Raptors with Cowboys riding on their back, robots dressed up as Old West Gun Slingers and a main villain who had a six-pistol gun. If you want to make sense of that…be my guest, but it’s really best just to sit and enjoy it as it plays out. Granted, you could justify everything that happened since Tobias just kept jumping into the future and hijacking this stuff back, but…dinosaurs? I don’t see the purpose for those, unless he wanted to scare people into doing his dirty work (ten foot robots and massive guns would do that for me anyway); regardless, they were fun to see, even if they were completely random. Heroes in the episode included El Diablo, Bat Lash, Sheriff Ohiyesa Smith and the aforementioned Jonah Hex. They were all great to see in animated form and I couldn’t help but laugh every time El Diablo talked, as his voice actor (Nestor Carbonell) played “Batmanuel” in the live-action The Tick! series (I think I’m one of few who loved that show). Jonah Hex was awesome to see again and Bat Lash was fun to watch as well.
The Wild West portions had their fare share of camp to them, but they were a fun little romp. Bruce refusing to carry a gun and then using his utility belt as a “Go on, I dare you” type move the cowboys used when reaching for their guns, Diana taking her time in deflecting the bullets (“These are the biggest, slowest bullets I’ve ever seen”) and John’s “Green Lantern” Ghost looked like something pulled from a Scooby Doo episode, were fun to watch. There were some nice character moments in this one, but honestly, I think we’re all just waiting for the second part. Speaking of the second part, we got a nice little teaser end to the episode. Landing in the future after chasing Chronos again, the League come up against the Return of the Joker Jokerz gang; descending immediately is the Future Static, Batman Beyond and Warhawk. Static appears much older than his “Future Shock” appearance and Batman seems to have lost the red on the interior of his wings, but Warhawk remains the same. The episode ends with the clinching “Dad?!” from Warhawk as he looks at Green Lantern, who then looks like he just saw Future Shayera in the shower. It was a great ending and created a session of out loud “I gotta wait a week to see the conclusion!?” cursing. Perhaps the most debated part of this ending was the reappearance of the Return of the Joker Jokerz gang; Bonk died on-screen (in both versions of the film, though one more graphic than the other) in the movie, while everyone else seemed to simply get taken away by the cops. One other thing to point out is Woof’s mechanical arms; definitely not on the original model and Chucko’s new look (different color shirt and is now carrying some sort of round object, similar to Ghoul’s pumpkin bucket), all suggest that the gang may be different. If they aren’t, I refuse to believe that one of the story writers of Return of the Joker and producers of Justice League Unlimited simply glazed over Bonk’s death or forgot; the gangs there for a reason that will have to wait for another week to find out. It’s sort of sad that all of the work that was put into the first twenty plus minutes of this episode are overshadowed by the ten second closer, but it’s to be expected. People have been hungry for more Batman Beyond and now that we’ve got him again, it’s gonna be hard to let go.
That was, bar-none, the most mind-twisting and blowing DCAU episode I’ve seen. It’s not that it was “crazy” or “kooky” or all together “spooky,” but trying to get everything straight with the Matrix code flying across the bat-computer screen and Bruce spouting off stuff about the “space time continuum”…just…ouchie. Confusing nature aside (and that will pass upon a few more viewings, I’m sure), this episode was pretty much what I expected it to be; not in plot points and twists, but just in that we’d get a fun romp through future Gotham City. I’ll be damned if it didn’t seem like time flew while watching it this though; commercial breaks came as soon as they ended and I had a goofy grin on my face the entire time, seeing the Jokerz back and Terry cracking one liners again…it was really was one of the biggest fan-moments I’ve had while watching Unlimited. The story itself, as previously mentioned, was quite the confusing experience. The first time I watched it I was just entertained by everything; by the second time I finally got a grasp on why Hal Jordan was appearing (other than to make everyone’s eyes bug out) and why everyone started to disappear. In the end, this trip to the future also ended up being an “alternate” trip to the future, as in the end everything was switched back to normal, albeit with Batman and Green Lantern only remembering what went on and Chronos stuck in a constant loop with his wife’s abusive language constantly recycling. D.R. Movie Co. threw in some new effects on the future Batman’s jet boots; instead of dissipating right away, they left swirly trails; though you only saw this once it was a great bit of animation. The city looked as dark and futuristic as ever and the Jokerz new designs were great as well. Chucko on a rolling ball, Bonk with a massive mallet, multiplying Dee Dee’s, a mechanical arm-enhanced Woof and a spinning saw blade on Ghoul. Anyone who didn’t get flash backs to Batman Beyond’s “April Moon” episode must’ve been delirious; then again, Chronos said he traveled into the future to get those upgrades, so either the doctor in “April Moon” didn’t exist yet or…ah hell I’m getting confused again. Regardless, it makes me long for more of Batman Beyond…but I’m sure I’ve said that enough by now.
Static was enjoyable as well; I never was one to watch the show much, sans the special appearances of other DCAU heroes, but an adult Static is definitely who I prefer. He’s got the wit of Flash and the strength of John Stewart and it was great to see the two interact as “old friends.” Warhawk’s “I’m shocked! Shocked! Well not that shocked…” revelation that he is Shayera and John’s kid and that they may have even gotten married (“Stewart” is his last name; he was named “Rex” after Green Lantern’s childhood friend, Rex Mason / Metamorpho) was nice to see extended upon. Even if we didn’t get much (due to the three Batman’s interrupting) else out of the two, it was fun to see where things progressed (and the look that John gives Shayera at the end of the show). The undisputed and best moment of the episode, however, was the scene with Bruce/Batman/Batman—we get the wise and old Wayne saying hello to his younger self and them both telling Terry to shut up in which Terry emits a “What’d they used to call it? Stereo?” quip. It was the things endless fan fictions are made of where the past meets future… I enjoyed this episode much more than part one; animation was awesome, music fit well with every scene and the characters were all handled nicely, even if there was an over abundance of them. Some may trash McDuffie’s writing, but I’ve enjoyed nearly everything he’s written on Justice League and Justice League Unlimited and this was certainly no exception.
Create sci-fi characters with this dress-up game inspired by the Star Wars movies, mostly the original trilogy with Luke, Leia and Han, and also with many items inspired by Padme, Anakin and Obi-wan. There are four themes in the game to approximate outfits from the show, and create new ones: Jedi martial artist, rebel, queen or princess, and slave. Complete her look with weapons, other types of accessories, body customization and a wide hair section. Also, to make the weapons brighter and the image altogether more dramatic, you can play around with the darkness setting!
This game inspired by the Star Wars saga lets you dress up a male counterpart to the original Sci-fi Warrior! Although the woman has more diverse clothes and some alien features, the man is more narrowly focused on the clothing style of Jedi and Siths (and restricted to humans). The religion of the Jedi, and this is reflected in their fashion style, is itself inspired by the Eastern martial arts and monastic orders such as the Shaolin monks, which combine a deep commitment to a spiritual path with the lifelong study of self-defense. While Jedi and Siths alike are warriors trained in combat, the difference between them is their power source: while Siths align with forces of destruction, and derive power from intense emotions especially anger and hatred, the Jedi curb their emotions and do not feel hatred for their enemy. The genius of this philosophy is that it holds the key to ending the cycle of violence: self-defense against an enemy who is not hated.

Somewhere Only We Know
(title from the song by Keane)
It wasn’t often you had time alone with Bucky. If it was up to the universe, you’d have none at all. Since joining the Avengers you found yourself constantly surrounded by various members of the eclectic group. Whether you were on missions or just lounging around the tower on your day off, there was always someone, most times multiple someones, around. It was like living in a college dorm all over again, and that was not an experience you were happy to repeat. Especially while you were trying to flirt with a certain centenarian ex-assassin.
You’d had one blissful week together when Bucky came to recruit you. He’d found you in a crappy motel outside Philadelphia, hiding out after your powers had manifested on live TV in an almost horrific incident at a NFL game. A bomb had gone off during half time and you managed to get a protective force field around it in time for the bomb to implode inside the bubble without harming anyone. Of course, a girl with purple energy flowing around her who was able to save thousands of lives garnered a lot of attention from both the good guys and the bad ones. You had been on the run for two weeks when Bucky finally caught up with you.
You were his first recruitment mission and he was determined to bring you in to join the team. You weren’t certain about being an Avenger but you were sure about getting him in bed. The super soldier’s thighs gave you a brand new appreciation of the word thicc. You’d spent the next six days enjoying each other’s company until Steve showed up, thinking he could help Bucky convince you to come back with them. You had never seen someone blush so hard their ears turned red. Steve was blessedly oblivious and you returned with them the next day.
After you returned to the tower with the guys your life had been a blur of training and practice. Bucky and you both agreed to keep what had happened to yourselves, not wanting it to potentially impact your ability to join the Avengers. You sparred with Nat, learned marksmanship from Clint, practiced controlling your powers with Wanda, jogged with Steve and Sam, and picked up a little basic first aid from Bruce. You knew it was important to be learning all that you could, to get yourself ready for the inevitable first mission, but you still missed Bucky. You’d barely get ten minutes alone with him at a time, never quite enough to make good use of it.
It was a month into your training when you’d hit your limit. Bucky was too shy to slip off to your room at night, he was still sharing an apartment with Steve and his absence would be obvious. You started looking for out of the way places you might be able to slip off to unnoticed together. There were a few regular times that your day intersected with Bucky’s so you strategized when you would be able to make your move. You just hoped Bucky was still interested. Though the way he’d had to excuse himself last week when your shirt rode up while sparring with Nat seemed to indicate he was.
You were cleaning up the kitchen after lunch, packing away the last of the leftovers, when Bucky walked into the room. He was still sweaty from his workout and the sight of his grey joggers riding low on his hips made your mouth go dry. It was now or never. “Hey Buck.” you greeted him with a welcoming smile.
“Hey, Y/N. Are there any sandwiches left?” he asked while refilling his water bottle from the tap on the fridge.
“There are, or I could go show you the new wing of the bionics lab they’re building.”
“What? I thought they’d stopped construction on that until Spring?”
“They did. But you see, it’s all the way up on the twenty second floor and no one ever goes up there.”
“Then why would we… oh.” Bucky’s eyes widened as he realized what you were implying.
“Oh.” you echoed, nodding your head. “So what are you more hungry for, Barnes? The sandwich, or me?”
Bucky blinked a moment at your blatant proposition before his brain got on board and you raced to the elevators.
It became a habit, meeting up in the abandoned construction of what would eventually be an extension of Stark’s bionics lab. It was always frantic, heated, and absolutely amazing. You were dreading Spring’s arrival when you’d lose your hideaway. Hopefully by then your relationship would be able to be public.
After an agonizingly long mission away, Bucky returned to the tower, tac gear covered in grime and still reeking of smoke. The second you locked eyes on him, you desperately wanted to get him alone. You wanted to help ease the tension in his shoulders and sadness in his eyes, take his mind off of whatever he had endured for a little while.
Everyone was gathered in the common room while Tony gave a mission report to the rest of the team. It wasn’t ideal but you were undeterred.
“Hey.” you whispered quietly to Bucky, knowing his super soldier hearing would pick up your words.
“Hiya, doll.” he answered, making sure his voice was just loud enough for you, and you alone, to hear.
“Wanna go up to our spot? They’ll never miss us.”
“We should hang around ‘til Stark is done.” he whispered with a frown.
“Pleeeeaaase, can we just step away for a little bit? I promise I’ll make it worth your while.” you begged, “We’ll be quick, they won’t even notice we’re gone.”
Bucky sighed and you could tell he was relenting.
You were exiting the elevators, ready to slip back into the common room unnoticed barely twenty minutes later. Tony’s debrief meetings were usually an hour, so you should have still had plenty of time. Bucky went first, phantom silent as he slid back to his place along the back wall of the room. You waited a heart beat before making your way back to your spot next to him. It should have been perfect, you had practiced your stealth moves with Nat and were getting pretty damn good. Unfortunately your best laid plans were all taken down by a chip.
Clint had helped himself to a bag of potato chips from the snack bowl and he crunched into one loudly right as you appeared in the doorway. Everyone’s eyes snapped over to the source of the sound and saw your attempted sneaking in the background. It might not have been too suspicious if it weren’t for the smudge of soot on your neck and your deer in the headlights expression. The fact that you’d buttoned two of your blouse buttons wrong in your hurry was just icing on the cake. Bucky’s eyes widened in silent panic as he realized you were busted and he stayed frozen in place as you laughed nervously, eyes scanning the shocked expressions of your team mates.
Finally, Tony cleared his throat. “Wow. Robo Cop and our own little Glow Worm.” he shook his head in amused disbelief, “Good job, Glow Worm. Robo Cop, don’t make me give you the shovel talk, capiche? Now, let’s get back to work.”
Everyone else was too stunned to comment so you just slunk back to your spot next to Bucky. “So much for discrete.” you whispered with an apologetic smile.
“It was inevitable.” he shrugged.
“At least we won’t have to sneak upstairs to fool around now.”
“I don’t know, doll. I kinda like having somewhere only we know.”
“Love birds!” Tony shouted, startling you both. “Do you want to pay attention to the class, or do you want to go back upstairs and keep defiling my almost-lab?”
The two of you cringed in unison.
“So much for that.” you chuckle quietly, nudging Bucky in the ribs. “Sorry Tony!” you shout back.
“Wait? What!? Were you really? I was just taking a stab in the dark there. Oh god, my new lab! FRIDAY, get a hazmat crew up to the twenty second floor, stat! And you two. Ohhh you, two. Please, I beg of you. Go make use of one of the many beds we have here at Avengers Tower, preferably your own.”
Bucky blushed fiercely, his ears adorably on fire.
“I don’t want to see either one of you until noon tomorrow at the earliest. Go on now, shoo.” Tony waved his hands at you dismissively.
“The boss said so.” you shrugged at Bucky with a flirty smile.
Bucky grinned wolfishly at you, “Orders are orders.” he said before scooping you up in his arms.
You let out a little squeak as Bucky carried you off and you could hear Tony resuming his debriefing in the distance. It wasn’t the most ideal way for the team to find out, but somehow you couldn’t seem to mind at all.

Midnight Snacks
[Based on @nachosforfree Au @sanderssides-magicalgirlau ]
[warnings: flashbacks, refrences to past abuse, unreliable narrator, unsympathetic/evil Patton]
The apartment they lived in was modest and modern. With two large sunburst style windows that let in pale streams of moonlight into the kitchen. The silvery shadows reflected off the cool marble tile and illuminated the layout without the need to turn on the overhead lights. Which was well and good since Virgil didn’t have the energy to bother doing so.
He crept in on the balls of his feet as to minimize sound. Quiet as he could be he slowly made his way into the room- constantly looking over his shoulder, shadows swirling around his hands and feet ready to transport him away at the first sign of danger.
He was hungry, the small stash of food he had squirreled away had ran out. Leaving Patton’s room when he was asleep was always nerve racking, but there was only so many hours he could stare at the ceiling before the queasiness in his stomach became too much to bare.
(He didn’t have a room to himself here- no safe recluse or small closet to hide away in when everything became too much to bare. Just a corner in Patton’s room that he claimed. That could always be taken away.)
(Patton claimed it was like an eternal sleepover when he first came-he always wanted Virgil near by- and who wouldn’t want to room with their Best Friend? )
(He hasn’t felt like Patton’s Best Friend in a long time )
(Will he ever again?)
He was mentally praying to every God under the stars that no one was awake- he couldn’t handle getting caught by Wrath or one of the others. Dragon Witch maybe, but she would always give him this pitying look that made him think of—
Dee had the same eyes and pinched expression how did they never figure out—
Something unimportant. He couldn’t remember, but it would leave a guilty feeling in his gut for days afterwards.
He opened the fridge as slowly as humanly possible, cringing at every noise it produced. The chemical bright light emitting from the inside was harsh, and Virgil had to blink to adjust to it. But soon enough he began mechanically picking through the leftovers and forgotten meals. Never taking enough to be noticeable. To be gluttonous.
(No wonder he was losing so much weight so quickly, he’d be as skinny as Remus if he kept it up. )
(Wait who’s Remus?)
He stuffed the stolen goods into the lining of his hoodie, his pockets, under his shirt, anywhere he could really. If he rationed it right he could make it last a month at least- and it wasn’t like he never got fed. But Patton got so focused sometimes he forgot to get dinner for them both. And the others didn’t really trust him (or like him) enough to share their meals. Satisfied with his prize he was about to turn to leave when-
The lights flicked on.
The lights flicked on and Virgil froze.
The lights flicked on and Virgil was filled with pure terror.
He could see a shocked pair of (blue, cold like a frozen lake) staring at him in shock (and anger he was angrier all the time now, his saccharine sweetness barley masking the mania underneath). The figure was cloaked in the shadows of the doorway. It froze for a second before making it way toward Virgil.
“Pat” he begged, his body shaking so violently it was hard to stand. So he fell. His knees hitting the smooth tile with a resounding thud. “Pat- I’m sorry I was just so hungry- no please, no I’d never leave you I’m sorry for making you worry. I’m sorry, I’ll go back to bed, I’m sorry- please don’t I’m sorry”
Virgil felt himself being lifted from his kneeling position, but it was a distant knowing. His head placed in someone’s lap. “Oh baby” a voice murmured, stroking his hair. Virgil felt his heart plummet- Patton only got this affectionate when he was really- really mad. And when he was really-really mad he got—
Virgil curled into himself, trying to shield his stomach with his arms and legs. A broken bone could heal but if an organ was damaged he doubted he could walk it off. “I’ll be good, please don’t, no-stop! I promise. I’ll be better, please”
The hands on his head and back started rubbing gentle circles- and Virgil let out a choked sob.
The voice wanted him to open his eyes, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t look into the face of his friend, his brother, couldn’t accept the reality that he couldn’t remember his (ex) friends faces. That he had nowhere to go. That he was going to get hurt by someone he loved so thoroughly and completely that the thought of leaving was inconceivable. Hands lifted his face from the fabric he was burying himself in, gently caressing his chin and cheeks.
—-roughly pulled at his hair. So hard Virgil could feel hair being ripped from his scalp—
-Please no stop it hurts I don’t want it I’ll be better please no I’d never leave you stop please I promise-
—-Grabbing his neck possessively, crushing his windpipe. So tight he couldn’t breath couldn’t breath can’t breathe —
Gasping for air, his chest convoluting spasticity. He pawed starts himself trying to get the imaginary hands off of him. He needed air.
Someone tried to grab his arms to stop his clawing. Tried to hold him in place in their chest. Virgil struggles more and more till the damn broke and he could finally breathe in the sweet scent of roses, charcoal and petrichor.
Wait what?
Patton had many things, but he did not own the rosey perfume that Diana Anxiti favored. He did not have the feeling of static and rainfall that laid underneath whatever fragrance she wore, no matter how much she put on, there was always a smokey undertone.
“Mom?” Virgil croaked out, looking up, and sure enough there was the face of his mother.
Diana has spent years training her senses as a magical girl, so when she heard someone moving about in the Kitchen, she went to investigate. Most likely it was Andy coming to get a late-night snack. She never thought she would see her eldest child slinking about, never thought she would have to hear him begging for mercy to someone not there.
“That’s right baby, I’m here,” her voice was deep and rich like honey seeping into the wounds of his soul. “Do you know where you are Virgil?”
Where was he? “I’m… home?” He wagered, his mom must have heard the uncertainty in his voice. “Mhm do you know where that is?”
(Home had been synonymous with Patton’s embrace. Holding his hand at the playground, drying his tears after a nightmare. Later home became him and his team, Disney marathons. Ranting with Dee and Logan. Laughing at the twins antics. Home was his and Remy’s coffee-scented backroom- stolen kisses and witty banter. Home had never been a place for Virgil)
“Your house.. I’m at your house. In the kitchen.”’
“That’s right baby. Can you tell me why you’re in the kitchen?”
“I woke up hungry, and then I was- I was back there. What happened Mom? What happened to us?”
Diana had felt much pain in her life. Injuries after Villain fights, having to bury her mother and father, waking up to find her husband had disappeared without even a note explaining why. Yet none could quite compare to watching the boy she had accepted into her home, had loved as her own flesh and blood, become the person he was. The person who hurt her son.
She cradled her eldest child against her, like she did when he was nothing more than a mere babe, and tried to gift him some comfort.
“Sometimes people aren’t who we think they are baby, that maybe they never where, and sometimes we gotta learn to let them go”
She hasn’t married young, wanting to continue her career as the herald of the night for as long as possible. But she fell in love fast, fast and quick, with a man she thought she knew. Thought she made a family with.
But he vanished like a phantom, yet his echoes still lingered, he and her little blue eyed boy still haunted her home and heart even after she tried to scrub both of them away.
Dawn would break upon the horizon, blazing strands of orange and pink would stream through the window, painting the room in their vibrant hues. And mother and son would still be locked in pieta-c embrace, trying to find solace in each other’s arms from the cruel world that lay outside their door.

Once in a lifetime encounter 2/?
Tuesdays were the worst for Taiga, mainly because there was no practice, but also because it was when he had the damn psychology lecture at 8 AM, which he hated with a passion.
Why did he even have it in the first place? He was going to go pro after college anyway, why did he need a lecture like that?
He couldn't even skip it, because the damn professor took attendance, and if you had more than three absences you were forced to repeat the class next semester and that was something Taiga wished to avoid.
And he already had two.
So he forced himself to get up before 8 and go to the damn lecture. He preferred that than to pay some asshole for tutoring. Then again, he already sat there and stared off into the distance because he didn't understand a thing from what the professor was talking about.
He wished there was someone on his team who was his age so they could suffer with him, but unfortunately he was the youngest. All his senpai were already past that awful experience, but since they were busy with their own studies they could only offer him their notes.
Which didn't solve Kagami's problem in any way, since he couldn't learn from someone's notes at all.
He was glad that he wasn't late, but he barely made it in time. He slipped inside the lecture room, and took a seat in the far back. He had a notebook and a pen, but the only notes he took were those of future game plans. Or recipes. It was still early in the semester, so he wasn't panicking yet, but it was obvious that he would need that asshole's help. Whoever it was.
“Excuse me? Is this place free?”
“Mhm” Kagami muttered, not looking from his phone and moved a bit when the person next to him sat down. When he finally lifted his head he stopped and stared with his mouth open.
There next to him sat one of the phantoms – the short and brown haired one, that looked like a high school student rather than a college one. He was dressed differently (obviously), but Kagami easily pictured him in the black and white jersey.
“What are you doing here!?” He blurted out, kind of loud, making other students look in his direction. The phantom’s player paused in taking out a notebook from his bag and looked at him questioningly.
“What do you mean? We’re attending a lecture.”
“What? I mean, what are you doing at my uni!?” Was he going nuts? Did he mistake the buildings or something?
“Oh!” The boy turned to Kagami. “It’s an open lecture right? We’re here because anyone could come.”
“What?”
 The boy tilted his head.
“I…I didn’t know that…” Kagami admitted shamefully, but then he recovered quickly. “And what do you mean we?!”
A blue mop of messy hair peaked from behind one of the phantoms and Kagami’s eyes widened.
“You?!”
“Hello, Kagami-kun. Please don’t shout it’s rude.”
“Wha-!!”
“Shh.” He put a finger to his lips and Kagami sat stunned because he has been quieted by the little shit.
He wasn’t able to say anything more, because the professor started his lecture.
Kagami was in shock. It appeared that the blue haired phantom’s disappearing trick could also be extended outside the court. He hasn’t seen him sit down next to his friend, hell he hasn’t seen him enter.
There was no way of striking a conversation with him, since the other guy was between them, and also because he seemed to be completely engrossed in the lecture. And trying to talk to the brown haired guy always ended in failure since he hushed them both every time.
So Kagami was left with nothing but to play on his phone or observe his potential nemesis.
By the end of the lecture he was almost asleep, so when he looked around he noticed that the two players were gone.
He grabbed his stuff and ran out of the building. Looking around the entrance brought no results and when he went back, asking a few people if they saw someone fitting the description, everyone just shook their heads.
“Damn it.” Kagami cursed and sighed. His stomach then rumbled and he decided there was no point in looking for the guy anymore. He could just look him up on the net.
And he was really hungry.
He went to the closes majibu and ordered four double cheese burgers, giant fires and a cola.
With such a huge meal he needed a decent sized table, so he went to his favorite lounge, since it was still early and the joint was practically empty.
He unwrapped his first sandwich and got to eat when he suddenly hared the familiar soft voice.
“Hello, Kagami-kun. We meet again.”
He almost died then because he completely didn’t expect that.
“The hell??? When did you get here?”
The blue player simply drank his shake, before he decided to answer.
“Before you I guess.” He took a sip.
Kagami scowled. He thought about changing places, but he actually did have a question or two to ask.
When he said nothing thought, he lowered his gaze and Kagami saw that he was actually reading a book.
“That’s rude.” He said suddenly and Kagami flinched.
“What?!”
“Staring.” He said calmly and turned a page. “And you’re doing it again.”
“What?”
Another page turned.
“During the lecture you’ve been staring at me very intently. It was a bit distracting.”
Kagami felt his face go warm.
“Well, I-I just didn’t expect you there!”
He hummed.
“I didn’t expect to see Kagami-kun there either.”
“How do you know my name?”
He looked at him for a moment, while drinking his shake.
“It’s on your jersey.” He said and Kagami felt like a fool. “And also you’re quiet popular. It’s hard to not hear about you.”
Kagami opened his mouth, but Kuroko was faster.
“I’m Kuroko Tetsuya.” He said and reached a hand through the table. “Don’t feel bad for not remembering. I expected that.”
Kagami grunted and shook the offered hand. It was way smaller than his, but he could still feel that it was stronger than it looked. Also it was cold, but that was because of drink Kuroko enjoyed.
“Oh, uh, um.” He answered eloquently, but Kuroko didn’t comment.
“I’ll be gone soon.” He returned to his book.
“Actually.” Kagami said and Kuroko looked up at him with his big, blue eyes.
“Actually I have a question.”
“Yes?”
“How do you make yourself vanish?”
Kuroko looked at him before he smirked.
“Kagami-kun you don’t think I’m that stupid to tell you my secret. We’re opponents.”
“No! I mean, yes, but I just…I mean. I never saw something like what you do before.”
Kuroko looked at him while twirling his straw.
“There’s a court near here. We can go after you’re done and you can show me if you don’t wanna tell me.”
Kuroko raised an eyebrow at that and took another sip which turned to be his last.
“That’s very bold of you.” He said. “Maybe buy me dinner first.”
Kagami’s jaw hit the table.
“Or a milkshake. That would suffice too.” He added as an afterthought.
“Wh-you-what?? That’s not why I-I’m not hitting on you damn it!” Kagami sputtered now completely red in the face.
“No? Pity.” Kuroko said and now Kagami could hear his pretended disappointment.
“Screw you.” Kagami snapped and wanted to stand up, but Kuroko placated him.
“I was joking. I don’t mind going to the court and showing you.”
Kagami leveled him with a stare that Kuroko endured without a problem.
“Fine.”
Kuroko smiled.
