So I just found out I’m the first person to post about a specific character on tumblr and that’s pretty cool— anyway you’re all forced to know what Modulus is now :)

What is Modulus? A combiner and… nonexistent! He’s not real! He doesn’t happen in any continuity and only exists as a suggestion in an instruction manual for some reason! Who knows why they did that 💀💀💀, but it looks cool and is convenient for fanfiction reasons, so I’m not complaining!

This weirdo is truly something lol. There’s like uh absolutely no information about Modulus besides what’s on the wiki, so everything else is I guess just up to you then X,,,,,D. Which is where me being hyperfixated on transformers comes in— This guy justifies a lot of ideas I already had lol.

If I do ever actually manage to write anything I’ll be putting it on here cause I don’t have anywhere else to post fanfic d(^^ ). It’ll probs end up just screenshots of my notes lmaooooooo— unfortunately this guy is later story stuff and you’d have to read through my OCs and other arcs first to get there, all of which I have not finished writing whoops 💀💀💀 haha anyway—

What is your favorite Transformation kink and what is your favorite story that you have written so far?

Wonderful questions!

Really I’m quite easy to please as a reader! Physically I’m sure you’re all surprised to hear that I loveee a hairy, muscly dude. But while I’m happy with most TF fiction, tbh it’s pretty rare that a story without some kind of mental/personality change really sticks with me. Something more than skin deep or pits hairy y’know- Love a horror story ig haha!

As for a favorite story of mine own hmm-

The Olde Candy Shoppe has stuck with me more than most, I had a lot of fun writing it and was writing it 100% to my tastes so was was a pleasant surprise to find it so well received!

Otherwise I have a lot of fun with the more scattershot TFs a la Talismen V and Halloween Bacchanal! Any story where there’s a corruptive aura/a ton of transformations going on at once is a big plus for me. I really enjoy the variety of doing a bunch of separate Tfs at once :)

After, the omega lock let out a loud signal, The screen showed a signal with a flower picture with it. Scattershot is checking it and the signal is from the speed planet, Optimus then got a close look and then mumbled, "so, you are already here.""Optimus, do you know that signal is from someone you know?" -Vector prime

"..Yes, that signal is from someone and I'll will have to go to speed planet to get them here, but i would not anyone of you follow me and you'll know that person soon." -Optimus prime

"Huh, why do you want to go alone. Optimus? What if it's a trap?" -Bud

"don't worry, i will be fine." -Optimus as he goes to the space bridge to speed planet

"gosh, i felt very excited about this person already..." -Lori

Finished transformers (2019) vol. 6 last night and honestly?? I’m really impressed. They did a really good job wrapping things up with only 12 months notice. It’s really clear that before that announcement they were trying to set up a story that would run way longer than the 4 years they got.

so I'm turning over a lot of thoughts atm about a thing I want to write regarding the way MTMTE is viewed in fandom through the lens of 'ascended fanon' and its perceived proximity to a nebulous idea of 'fanfiction', and where that comes from. how it impacts fandom reception. all that stuff. I've talked about this in scattershot ways before and I'm trying to nail down some coherent thoughts about it.

anyway, one thing I've mentioned before in passing is how the development of the CDRW relationship in the early comic highlights extremely well the limitations of understanding MTMTE through that lens. in the sense that the way official media is produced- the nitty gritty of it behind the scenes- inherently shapes how storytelling occurs in franchises like Transformers, even in situations that are superficially closer to a conventional 'auteur' model. you know, a single author who has relatively broad control over the content of a story. how CDRW is developed the way it is in part- in very large part- because of the tension between what is being written and what is permitted by the entities that have veto power over it. (hasbro, IDW, even individual editors acting as mediators working from their constructed ideas of what those entities 'want'.) to make blatant the subtext here: because it is influenced by The Gay Question, and ideas of 'permissable' content in a franchise like TF.

this dovetailed into thinking about how Shadowplay was an editorial demand. and I realised that one very obvious possibility to think of in terms of 'how does this bring canon alter the shape of the narrative' is that I don’t think an unrestrained MTMTE would have made prowl and chromedome exes.

obviously there's the fact Shadowplay would just not be in there, but even beyond that, the question of why that otherwise mostly unexplored interjection is present has confused some people over the years. in fact, it's literally been pointed to as an example of proximity to modes of storytelling associated with fanfic; the arbitrary inclusion of interpersonal (specifically romantic) relationships that do not seem to shoulder any broader narrative responsibilities.

but in the very specific context of MTMTE at the point in its publication Shadowplay sits at, it does carry a possible narrative responsibility. it facilitates CDRW pulling double duty as both canon and ambiguous. the scene that implies (but never states) chromedome and prowl were involved exists so rewind can act in a way that only makes sense if he is married to chromedome. (jealous, upset chromedome is seemingly talking fondly of a relationship with his ex.) but it never requires any actual statement that the relationships involved are monogamous romantic ones. it is a way to incorporate the dynamic in a way that is functionally undeniable if read in good faith but still unlikely to be shot down if The Gay Question receives a negative answer.

this is both interesting in how it shows that narrative elements can be influenced in unexpected ways by the nature of the comic as a pre-existing intellectual property, and also very funny because it means prowl's divorced energy really DOES just exist to reinforce rewind being married by comparison.

Love how after only a brief moment of bewilderment the kids are immediately on both towing the giant robot from where he crash landed and also going yeah we can fix you after only a brief moment of doubt. Introduction to them is 2 of them arguing and 1 being weird. Love them already

Did not have much to say on the stakes & action in the rest of the episode but i love the dynamics between the bots & the kids, very cute i like it

I'm glad you're having fun though, Cybertron is definitely something to be savoured, but has lots of re-watch value! (Is that a thing?)
