For "How to make your art creepy", I would suggest watching Pastra! They have a SpeedPaint on their channel, he does excellent work. For a request, can you draw a goodra?
Bro I love pastra! I think their artwork is so good!
It has been awhile since I have drawn goodra

If you can’t go outside while you work or something like that that may help your mental health then you should set timers to periodically take about 10-15 min breaks within 1-1.5 hours between each other
And also always have a drink or something while you work, even just having to get up to use the restroom or something is good for you.

THANK YOU but yeah very good advice
the thing though when i write is i get so hyperfocused that when i stop writing i get hit with every status effect at once and it fucks me up so bad. like i forget to do other things when im focused. its like tunnel vision. i look up from my screen and im suddenly down like -80 hp

Could you maybe tell your friend that you worry about him because of his anger issues? Like, in a calm moment obviously. That might open the door for you to say that you don't always feel safe around him? idk if that's a possibility
This might be what I have to do but I am legit scared to. I hate confrontation so much. And I know it’s not really the right thing to do to cut him off because he probably needs help but he’s also a LOT older than me and I don’t know if he will.

Yeah. :( It feels extra hard for me because I have (diagnosed) PTSD which has given me quite an intense fear of men for the past few years, and he’s the first guy I’ve let myself be friends with for a very long time.

Ok not to step on your suitor's toes and no need to publish or respond as this is totally unsolicited advice.
I have a kitchen that's not solid wood, it's made from MDF board, and I haven't painted it but here is what I would do if I were to ever paint it...
I really recommend that you do your research before painting the kitchen cupboards.
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/renovation/tips/a31753/painting-cabinet-mistakes/
It would be no harm to talk to people in a paint shop / hard ware shop that sells paint and ask for advice on your project with the hope that wastage on cost and paint is avoided. I suggest taking pictures to show them etc if you do go this route.
I have refurbished old wooden furniture so I love a good project, and wish you the best of luck! I'm quite envious right now actually 😁
AAAAAAH thank you
All advice is welcome!
I'm gonna do extensive research! My cabinets are kinda very shitty plasticky stuff so I'll probably do a patch test before committing to it!
Talking the hardware shop employees 🙃 my favourite thing to do as a woman... They usually treat me like I'm stupid 🙃 and I'll be buying pink paint too 😭😭😭😭
If you're envious come over and help me paint 😂😂😂
(I've recruited my irl bestie to help me, she's an artist, so that should help!)

i feel like these rickrolls, while definitely being more creative, have also gotten more predictable because you just keep trying to get us again in quick succession
maybe a drought of a few weeks or maybe a month before you try to rickroll us next would make it seem more out of the blue
(also i have yet to get rickrolled by you and i’m proud of it >:))
yes you are very correct… but they’re so funnnnn
no but I just need to find a new cursed meme to focus on for a few weeks (because i do need something to be through the day lol), while secretly collecting subtle rickrolls to strike with at a later date
also congratulations…. but I WILL get you and @cal-the-duende at some point!!!
welcome to the rickroll war >:)

Hey author, I believe you should submit your IF's intro post to @interact-if ! They are building a comprehensive interactive fiction directory, so it should also help bring a lot more traffic here for engagement! I would love to see your IF grow, its such a lovely concept with great characters!
Thanks for the advice. I submitted for approval but we'll se if it gets accepted.

I hear if you need more inspiration writing you should change your font to comic sans. If it works, great! And if it doesn’t, I get to revel in your pain.
i think there's something inexplicably wrong with me because i like comic sans and use it for everything simply for fun
i'm doing pretty well though (writing wise) currently and i might even finish with part 2 before the end of january! must be that new year joy i've been hearing so much about

I'd recommend making a few more pics in the community before starting a Patreon (to get some more flow and have your name be out there more), but that's just what I would do if I were in your shoes. You can also always just create a CashApp or something of the sort and have an option for people to donate if they'd like to support you. I don't recommend using KoFi, though, because they take a stupid amount of money as a fee for "using their service" (at least in my opinion).
Thanks for the heads up about KoFi! And thank for the advice it was really helpful.
And yes I definitely get what you’re saying about building my name up first. Patreon is a whole beast and that’s definitely a goal for later. I think what I’m gonna do is focus on just writing and being more active before setting up patreon.

Suggestion when posting a good tag for when people search fo example chris motionless or vinny mauro add to your tags 'artist name x reader' your engagement will slowly start going up obviously the more popular the person the more people will ss irmt
Also if you don't already a small interesting snippet or blurbs to capture peoples interest
You have a good thing going on here and people seem to really like you keep ip the good job and you'll be racking in followers and requests maam
Thank you! Always open to helpful criticism or likewise! I always intend to tag them that way and just don’t, can’t tell you exactly why 🤣
And thank you! I’ve noticed a steady growth and it still amazes me because what started as a thing I only did for me and expected maybe a small handful has turned into over 100 followers in less than a year! I can’t believe it!
I’ll have to start reminding myself to tag them that way!

As a tried and true CR:OB player, I recommended keeping what you have with her. While she may be an adult in canon if you want to age her down to fit into a storyline then it's totally fine! It's your headcanons so it's your rules. Don't beat yourself up if someone can't understand that it's your headcanon. Just write what you like, you don't have to appease anyone but yourself.
Thank you for the encouraging words. It's nice to know that this won't be a problem for my story.
I have thought about some other solutions after that post just in case. I still need to think about it a bit more. But I can remove that last option!
Again, thank you so much for the encouraging words!

7 Ways to Hook Your Readers
How do you start a story? Why, you start it with a hook! A hook is something that intrigues the reader and has them enthralled. Sometimes, the first sentence is the hardest one to form, so here, I'll give you some examples on how to hook your audience into your story!
>>> A question: This is a pretty well-known tactic: starting off with a question for your reader has them thinking how they'd answer; hence, pulling them further into your work. If you want, your character can answer the question too! However, the question must be relevant to your story.
>>> A idiom/quote/saying: Sayings are commonly used, though one can find them controversial at times. Regardless, the majority of people understand what the meaning behind them are; and because of that factor, along with its popular usage, proverbs quickly attract readers' attention while giving some insight to your character.
>>> One-word starter: This one is pretty simple, and if you really don't have any ideas, maybe give this one a shot! The hook is simply one word (or even a short phrase) that portrays a strong part of your character. Its out-of-context and vagueness trigger interest in your reader.
>>> Starting action: Like the one-word starter, this hook seems contextless, but it's a quick way to captivate your reader and have the suspense emerge! Example: "Blood covered the ground like a thin blanket, staining the once-clean quartz with a shade of scarlet. A pair of depthless eyes seemed to burn a hole into the last person in the room; a messy, pitiful, scrambling figure."
>>> Dialogue: By now, it should be obvious that your hook should be enthralling and evoke interest in your reader. Opening with compelling dialogue can help introduce the plot and characters of your story!
>>> Interesting Introduction: Is there something special about your character? Introductions can be difficult to sneak in, but not when it's a hook! Make a short description consisting of several defining traits of your character, and be sure to add the special thing about your character as a twist to snag your reader's attention! Additionally, you can be creative with this! An introduction doesn't have to come from your main character, it can come from another character describing the protagonist!
>>> Setting: Does the setting have a strong influence on the story? Even if it doesn't, beginning with a descriptive setting can slowly captivate your audience!
Alright! These are seven ways to hook your reader: a question, a saying, one-word, action, dialogue, an introduction, and a setting! Of course, there are many more ways, so explore around!
Happy writing~
3hks :)
