Stop saying Isaac is “sad and lonely” based on the pictures

I’m super excited about Isaac’s storyline in s2 but i’m already starting to get a little annoyed about people feeling sorry for him saying “he is all by himself ☹️ he is so alone” just because he isn’t coupled up in the pictures. You have no idea what his storyline will be yet as it is not in the comics and it sucks that just because Alice has said he is aspec/arospec that you are already projecting that means he is going to be alone or lonely and that that is something to be pitied. Feeling lonely or confused may very well be part of his storyline but its not fair to assume that aspec/arospec=alone and lonely.There are many other character who are not in couples and no one is saying this about them. Only Isaac.

romantic relationships are not everything-some people are happily unpartnered, some aspecs/arospecs are in relationships or qpps or a variety of other situations, also maybe he is demi, you literally have no idea and yall making it seem like being ace or aroace or aro is a sad life SUCKS to see. Yes feeling isolated or like we are different can be PART of the experience but it’s not fair to assume that from just this picture. Or assume that because he is crying it’s he realized he is aroace (yes people are saying this on twitter) when he could be crying for any number of reasons because he is a whole person outside of his sexuality. The point of my rant is you don’t know anything from the pictures and the fact that thats your first assumption is hurtful. So from an ace heartstopper fan, please stop and just wait to see how is storyline is and be conscious of how you talk about him once it airs. Thanks

davesprite and roxas. thats my writing prompt

there is a giant blanket fort taking up a good quarter of the room. roxas pauses, staring at it, and then walks around it to check— yep, that is almost entirely a quarter of the room. it’s brushing right up against the cardboard castle where the turtle puppet lives. 

someone has a lot of time on their hands.

it is also covered in orange feathers.

some sort of strange doohickey is connected up at what roxas… thinks might be the entrance to the fort. a sign is propped up on it that reads no entry (unless you are a super cool dubiously real alternate version of a guy)(in which case the entry fee is apple juice)

roxas thinks about this for a second. he’s… not sure how cool he is, but he is the alternate version of a guy. well— he’s a nobody, after all, and he’s pretty sure that the fact that all his memories of twilight town are fake qualifies him as dubiously real. he goes to the kitchen, collects two apple juices from the fridge, and then pokes the doohickey to see what it does.

a head pops out from the front of the fort. it is a boy who is entirely bright orange, with a ruff of similarly orange feathers around his neck. the boy looks at his apple juice, looks at the doohickey, and then looks at roxas.

“why would i lie about it?” roxas asks.

“fair enough,” the boy says. “guess i didn’t consider there’d be another guy like me on this train. stupid of me. welcome to casa strider, davesprite edition, make yourself comfortable, yada yada. davesprite is me, by the way.”

he holds the entrance open. roxas slips inside and settles on a pillow. davesprite follows after a moment and flops his entire body— what of it seems corporeal, anyway; his lower half vanishes into spirit aether after a point— across multiple pillows.

“far be it from me to have a feelings jam,” davesprite says, holding out a hand for the apple juice (roxas dutifully passes one over to him), “though that seems to be the general point of a blanket fort— not that i would know, all my blanket forts were population: one, and that one was me— how long you been on the train for?”

“like a day or two?” roxas says. he’s genuinely not sure. after twilight town, his sense of time is completely shot. he glances down at the number on his hand, starting to trail off his palm onto his wrist. “what about you?”

“long enough.” roxas narrows his eyes, but before he can push davesprite lets out a caw like a strange bird and his feathers all ruffle up and around. 

“sorry,” he says. “that happens. i’m part crow, in case the wings didn’t give it away.”

“were you born like that?” roxas asks, tipping his head to the side. the head and the hands look human enough, but roxas has seen enough pictures of magical creatures to not make assumptions. although— “no, wait. are you dead?”

davesprite laughs. “no,” he says. “i know i look like a ghost or whatever, but no. i’m— actually, i’m not really alive either.” he frowns. “just kind of here.”

roxas understands. he walks and talks and if he stops breathing things get really bad, but he doesn’t actually have a heartbeat— he’s checked. he’s definitely not dead, but he’s not sure that counts as alive either.

davesprite must see something on his face, because he says, “whoops. sorry for the existential crisis, dude.”

“no, it’s fine,” roxas says. davesprite has a number on his hand— something four digits, and normal. “just like, thinking that i understand that. the not being dead but not being alive thing.”

davesprite looks at him then, and then says, “i dunno. you look pretty alive to me. just because you’re like, an alternate version of some other guy— and i really don’t need to know deets on if you’re a clone or a guy from a different timeline or what, that’s your business and not mine— doesn’t mean you’re not alive.” his facial expression doesn’t change, nor does his tone, as he says, “meanwhile i’m just a game construct so i stopped counting as alive or dead like two and a half years ago.”

roxas considers explaining nobodies to him and decides he doesn’t feel like yelling at a guy he’s just met about how he’s wrong, no really, just because he’s saying it doesn’t mean it isn’t true. instead he objects,  “i don’t think that makes you not alive either. or like, i dunno. it still makes you real. maybe you should change the sign on the door, because from where i’m sitting you’re definitely real. even if you are an alternate version of some other guy.”

“oh.” davesprite says, and then they don’t talk for a while, sipping apple juice in quiet solidarity.

(neither of them notice davesprite’s number drop by over 400.)

him, out of everyone in the cast, 100% relates to you the most. people tend to judge a book by its cover, and its always bothered him! he believes that even if a person looked scary, or intimidating, you should get to know them before making any assumptions on their character!

everyone he's met has always assumed he was a lot meaner than he actually is just because of his appearance, when in reality, he always extends a helping hand to people, and wants to be a reliable person to those around him. you both are one in the same, and thats probably why he gravitated towards you in the first place.

wasn't scared of you when you two first met. he never wanted to treat others how he had been treated, and actively ignored what he felt, or heard from others, so he could treat everyone equally, and give everybody a fair shot to introduce themselves how they wish.

always advocates for the others to get to know you first before jumping to any conclusions. if anyone's ever told him they were scared of you, he'd instantly be countering their assumptions, and offering to formally introduce you to them so that they'd be able to see how kind you are with their own eyes.

confronts anyone who talks badly about you or starts spreading rumors just because they think you're hard to approach. its not only immoral, but its also effecting someone he loves, he'll make sure they learn a lesson!

being completely honest, he's not a guy who understands witchcraft and magick, but he respects what you do and acknowledges it takes a lot of effort to do right. isn't one to mock or undermine it, he's just very curious about it.

will ask plenty of questions because he wants to learn more about anything, especially anything involving you. forgive him if some of his questions seem a little insensitive or misinformed, you're his first introduction to this type of thing and he's really trying his best to be educated.

is especially annoyed when others use your beliefs and practices to reinforce their biased views on you, when their views are just based off of appearances. he's your biggest defender, and will debate an entire group of people publicly just to defend your honor.

appreciates the people who are your friends so much. he always tries to leave a good impression on them, and makes sure his gratitude for their actions is known.

a lot of people see you two as the "intimidating but really kind" power couple. you both present yourselves in ways that make others think you're unapproachable, but you two are actually the most warm, helpful people ever.

as a couple, you play really nicely off of each other. with taka's tendency to be very direct, mixed with your want to have the best possible outcome for all parties, misunderstanding very rarely happens, and the communication is very clear.

he admires you so much! even before you got together, he always looked up to you and had so many nice things to say about you. now that you two are together, its increased tenfold. believes he's the luckiest person in the world because he managed to date someone so understanding and affectionate.

speaking of affection, please be easy on him in the beginning of the relationship. he went from barely having others tolerate him to now having an incredible partner that loves him just as much as he does, give him some time to adjust before being too lovey dovey, he'll blush and freeze up if you don't!

mondo and chihiro have had to endure him doting over you everytime they talked to him. they'll jokingly gag and say they don't wanna hear him talk about how much he loves you for the 80th time, but they're just kidding. they love you too, and would also go to great lengths to defend you!

everyone in his class has positive opinions of you, even if they don't show it as much as the others. seeing how you act around him, and how much effort you put into the relationship is bound to rub off on them at some point. you've won all of class 78th over, which is not an easy feat!

all in all, you and taka being a couple is a match made in heaven. you both understand each other so deeply, have great chemistry, and compliment each other so much. everyone's rooting for you two, and it makes both you and him feel so happy.

Thoughts on Ferrari not brining the upgrades early due to not have 3 floors made in time? I dont think they will do the Mclaren gamble of bringing it in a sprint weekend so if they dont have 2 floors and a spare by Spain, it seems likely they will wait till Silverstone. I think they should just give it to one car (16 in my biased opinion but either one is fine) and then gather data so they can give it to the other one for the sprint weekend. They cannot waste time letting Mclaren be faster than them to be fair.

Also do you think the speculation that Binotto gave Sianz a better contract that ensured that he must get the same upgrades everytime is true? Do you Charles also has it and thats why Ferrari always delay to have both or is it just their method of operation?

I have seen this idea floating around and I am not sure where it came from(the idea they won't have all three ready or that both cars must be upgraded, like yes it's a rush but people are making a lot of assumptions here). They said they are trying to have three ready. I haven't seen anything reliable saying they won't upgrade one car. Conversely there is only one source implying they may upgrade only one car.

This is also acting under the assumption they will have even 2 floors ready for Spain.

I agree they cannot waste time, and I think that if there are two floors ready a car should be upgraded. However I also don't like people assuming they won't bring the upgrades to Austria. Yes it's a sprint weekend, but with all the pushing they are doing to get these floors done, are they really going to let it go to waste if they fail to bring them for Spain? I am not so sure. It's higher stakes to bring upgrades to a sprint, but Ferrari said they'd be more aggressive, and that certainly would confirm it.

They don't want to even go one more race without upgrades at this point, I am highly skeptical they'd let two pass simply because of the sprint. But that is probably a discussion to be had if they fail to bring them for Spain.

I have seen this speculation about the contract. Would I be surprised? No. However I want to point out this is all rumor based on assumptions people have made about Ferrari's upgrade patterns the last few years.

Also Ferrari has always operated a little differently in trying to have things more equal between drivers, even when there was a clear #1. So it may well be there is no such contract stipulation and Ferrari have done things this way and haven't needed to change until recently. I fully believe Binotto would not have just upgraded one car given his approach. With Fred we have yet to really see a circumstance where it was necessary or even possible just to upgrade one car. This is the first time it's come up.

I'd say my guess is something in someones contract likely affect things. However Ferrari do like to do things a certain way and I could see them doing so without being forced by contract. I don't think it's super helpful to speculate on the contents of contracts because there is no real way to know for sure unless someone leaks something so it all just remains speculation and rumor.

Yep it truly was getting weird especially on tiktok, and I have seen pedri mention gavi edits pop up on his feed often, so there's a huge chance he watched their edits with romantic songs and all. you have a fair point, even if they do hang out we wouldn't know since gavi doesn't need to be driven by pedri, I wish I still got the content like I used to before though, without it it's just difficult to stick to my assumptions.

i feel like its super common for ppl to say that vash and milly have higher alcohol tolerances but like... thats not true 😭 at least in 98 it isnt.. there are multiple times where milly gets super hammered even though other ppl around her arent, so unless she's downing shot after shot right when the party starts i think its safe to assume she's a lightweight!! as for vash, while he has been shown to drink a Lot a few times, he usually doesnt handle it very well, ending up with bad hangovers or getting sick. also, in episode 9 when wolfwood and him drink a lot late into the night, wolfwood is fine the next morning and vash is super hungover, even though it seemed like they drank similar amounts, so i think that could be evidence that wolfwood handles alcohol better than vash does.

like i said this is only from 98, so i cant say that its like, undeniable fact or anything, esp since i havent read trimax so idk if its different in that. but i think its kind of fun for vash and milly to have lower tolerances... i think ppl give milly a higher one cause she's big and strong, which is a fair assumption, i just dont think its accurate. and ppl usually say that vash has a higher tolerance cause of being a Plant, which like. it Could be possible. but i think its a bit more interesting if its the opposite :•3

Sure thing! Again, been a while since I read them, so this probably won't be 100% accurate, but still!

- None of the Kanes are straight, no matter if they are alive, dead, being possesed or currently a god themselves, they are not straight, I feel like thats a fair assumption to make.

- Out of the siblings, since Sadie is slightly more socially aware than her brother, I feel like she would be the first to realize this

- I always assumed that Carter and Zia would be that super sappy couple but like, no they wouldn't??? None of them have any idea how to actually flirt, whatever sappy stuff they say is by both accident and honesty.

- Their version of flirting is something that literally only the two of them get and confuses everyone else, probably involves a lot of knowledge about egypt and it's deities.

- Also Zia still trains Carter like on the only day that we saw the siblings get proper training, sometimes Sadie tags along but they wake up way too early for her.

- Everyone but Sadie is confused as to what to call Walt now, because sometimes it's your friend Walt, but sometimes it's a god of the dead Anubis, and sometimes it's both! So most of the time they avoid calling them by any name.

- I'll never let go of the fact that Percy's first thought when seeing Sadie was "Oh, she looks like if Annabeth and me had a daughter", so while they don't visit too often because of the whole thing about pantheons not mixing, they do meet up, and Percy always has gifts for everyone.

- So we all know Bast is the cat mom of everyone right? So, everytime she has to take them somewhere she just picks them up by the back of their shirts (like with kittens, but with her hand instead of her mouth)

- Does Bast purr?? She does now, everyone has fallen asleep against Bast at least once while listening to the rythmic purr.

- Nobody questions it when a colony of stray cats just settles outside of the Nome.

- Don't know if this applies with canon but like, both Carter and Zia had reservations about using shabtis again after everything that went down.

- Sadie definetly forces Zia and Carter to listen to her own "Crash Course to Everything Pop Culture"

Wild speculation, but sometimes I wonder if like, because the dsmp didn't really start as a narrative, and a lot of fans don't nessecarily enter it expecting a narrative, but then there is one and the fandom is really discourse heavy and everyone is sort of excpeted to have an opinion while maybe not expecting to form one from the begining or not having a ton of experience with narrative in a way that would "expect" them to have an opinion or not take things at face value??, I don't know if I explained that well at all... and I don't really even think thats right nessecarily... but like wow sometimes some of the takes about power and government and villany...

Like his first youtube video on the Dream SMP he admits his goal is to manipulate c!Tommy and people like c!Tommy into helping him achieve a potion ("drug") empire to monopolize on potions because there were a lot of people on the server who like to min-max, which is to put all of your effort into this one specific skill essentially. so like... i know minecraft doesnt have a skill tree but if it did, it would be putting all your points into that one specific branch of a skill tree. So he wanted to exploit the labor of all the TommyInnits to.... maintain a Potion Empire.

And I don't think a lot of the fandom who joined later on knows this. I certainly didn't until like a week or so ago? Like... I knew c!Wilbur had been manipulative from the start because I'm a mod of (shameless self promo incoming) @dsmpanalysis and we have a lot of different POVs in that mod team and discord and we talk about it really frequently. I joined the fandom as someone who was really big on L'manburg ESPECIALLY crimeboys, and have turned into.... *gestures vaguely to my blog*

And ngl I owe a lot of it to @1-michibiki-1 in terms of c!Dream "Apologism" but all of the mods there have expanded my thoughts and views on the storylines of this narrative.

My application consisted of like largely essays about like... how I think Dream was the villain but he was meant to be the villain because you don't get any insight into his character WHICH.... IS A FAIR ASSUMPTION AT FIRST GLANCE. People are easily villainized when you cannot get a glimpse into their thought process. It's easy to dwindle someone down into this flat character and starting out I knew Dream didn't stream the SMP on purpose.

And I personally came to the conclusion of "Oh! So Dream is supposed to be the villain." However as the story continued and I learned more about what Dream went through I began to realize that... it's more than likely a form of a red herring. My opinions on this were immediately solidified when I watched Ranboo's 2 MIL stream because both Ranboo AND Dream agree on enjoying red herrings.

There have been MANY times were Dream has said that c!Dream is a complex character and he's not a wholly evil guy and there have been times where the narrative has honestly just proved that.

Anyways, what's important though was that... I learned most of this from other people who were more focused on c!Dream rather than myself. Eventually I shifted from c!Tommy to c!Ranboo and c!Techno after c!Tommy betrayed c!Techno and I began to realize.... everything I learned before hopping in wasn't exactly what it seemed.

Part of this is because I'm older, I heavily identify with c!Techno's sense of loyalty and philosophies on government, but I especially identify with the anguish c!Techno voiced in... a lot of lore but especially the lore around Doomsday.

I'm not 16 anymore. I don't always feel wronged by adults, or older people in my case, whenever they absolutely have done something wrong by me, but I do feel wronged by my close friends. I also felt like c!Tommy's sense of loyalty didn't line up with mine after what felt like him constantly flip-flopping and refusing to understand c!Techno's morals on government didn't line up with his.

In short, it was easier to identify with Tommy in these animatics versus in the actual stream content because c!Tommy is played by a 16 year old. I'm not a teenager and my line of thinking doesn't entirely line up with people that age anymore. It's harder to place myself in the same shoes of someone's OC who is played closer to their actual age, because I'm not that age.

Regardless, I was still on the c!Dream is a villain train. I wasn't ever like... c!Dream is repulsive I hate him, but I was like omg hot villain lad go brrr.

Even when the first like... mellohi, panic room, Ranboo lore stream popped up I thought "Oh! c!Ranboo corruption arc?"

And I was excited because I really wanted this shy, nervous character to turn into villain buddies with his good pal c!Dream. I'm a total sucker for villains and corruption arcs and all that good shit.

SO I STARTED GETTING REALLY INTERESTED IN ENDERSMILE. I'VE BEEN ON ENDERSMILE SQUAD OUT THE GATE. NOT THE SAME WAY I AM NOW, BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED THEM TO TEAM UP.

So... upon not really keeping up with c!Dream and being relatively??? indifferent? I don't think I started arguments on c!Dream back then, but I might have. But I remember like... starting to participate more whenever c!Dream came up and looking more into Dream's character BUT ESPECIALLY TALKING WITH OUR SERVER'S C!DREAM SPECIALIST MICHI ABOUT DREAM A LOT MORE.

And because Michi has been a watcher since day one and was a DTeam fan rather than a SBI fan, she was able to provide me with more information on how the server worked pre-Tommy but especially pre-Wilbur.

Now, you could definitely argue well Michi probably has clear bias but it made sense to me when I looked back on how the storyline had been constructed and was going along, and everyone in the server talks a lot about our own biases and how we want people to maybe not lean so hard on them. Michi would also provide like anecdotes on what had happened and I'm sure links were probably provided at one point but the point was I felt like Michi had no reason to lie or manipulate how the story was told and if she did, eventually someone would have pointed it out because... Group of like... right now it's around 20 or more analysts but I don't remember how many at the time there were. POINT BEING, WE'VE ALL GOT POINTS TO PROVE AND IN MY EXPERIENCE NOT MANY OF US HAVE BEEN SHY TO PROVE THEM.

So if anyone ever had any differing opinions they would be talked about and we literally had and still have discussions.

REGARDLESS.... I DIDN'T FACT CHECK IN DEPTH BECAUSE I THOUGHT PEER REVIEW WAS ENOUGH WHEN YOU HAVE LIKE HOURS UPON HOURS OF STREAMS TO WATCH.

Anyways. Eventually I started paying closer attention and looking more into c!Dream lore but only recently have I started to triple check before speaking about c!Wilbur lore because I know everyone has biases and while I did trust everyone's thoughts and analysis in the discord, whenever I make essays I typically like it to be largely air tight and if theres a mistake, I want it to be because I forgot not because I just trusted what was said. Plus, I wanted to get down to the specifics of how Wilbur had always started with manipulation on the mind.

SO I WATCHED HIS FIRST VIDEO ON THE DREAM SMP.

AND WHAT I WAS NOT BY ANY MEANS EXPECTING WAS WILBUR TO SAY WORD FOR WORD, VERBATIM,

"SO WHY DON'T I START AN INDUSTRY WHERE I USE THE TOMMYINNITS OF THE WORLD TO WORK FOR ME, TO CREATE THINGS THAT THE MIN-MAXERS OF THE WORLD WILL WANT."

Like... this is in no way an attempt to like hardcore villainize c!Wilbur like everyone does Dream, it's just more so to like REALLY outline how far off a lot of fandom interpretation of c!Wilbur is....

Because of SBI focused animatics.

Now, when I joined I watched A LOT of animatics that really highlighted like... Wilbur being this self-loathing JD-esque, "I destroyed it because I had to because the world was against me because no one loved us, Tommy" type of character. At least... that's what it came across as.

And it definitely highlighted the fact that Tommy was a victim, which he is. He is undoubtedly a victim and no not even any dream apologist can change my mind otherwise. Tommy, despite being an instigator sometimes, didn't deserve the abuse he received.

But these animatics never shown the fact that c!Wilbur started L'manburg as a shady ploy to exploit people like c!Tommy and vilify c!Dream so he could have power.

And that was easy because Dream and Tommy had wars before. They had spars and pranks and here's the plan to take back my disks and here's the plan to out smart the thieving little child etc etc.

And all of the animatics I watched never mentioned this. Neither did the recaps though. The recaps gave the events flat out, there didn't sound like there was bias, and honestly I don't really know if there was rather than like... a lack of nuance. And it's hard to provide a recap with that much nuance in a short period of time for a youtube video, to be perfectly fair.

However, this creates a perfect formula for entirely rewriting the history of a server. c!Wilbur quite literally fucking succeeded TO A META LEVEL. He slandered and ran smear campaigns against Dream and like he even does that with Sapnap in the beginning. But what's crazy is that it transferred over into the meta! Most of this fandom understands Wilbur as a victim of mental illness, and yeah maybe? He definitely wasn't mentally well by the end of pogtopia, but he never started out with honorable intentions. L'manburg was never a victim, only its citizens. The TommyInnits of the world.

I just think it's like... such an interesting case study. Because this is like... an opinion like shared by at least half of the fandom, but the vilifying of c!Dream is shared by MOST of the fandom I would argue. Which is like even more crazy for me because that was c!Wilbur's goal!!!

LIKE I GO INSANE WHEN I THINK OF THIS BECAUSE HIS REACH IS JUST TOO POWERFUL. HE'S NOT EVEN ENTIRELY REAL, JUST A MANIPULATIVE PERSONA OF SOME BRITISH GUY.

And I mean... maybe people who have watched Wilbur's video on the SMP still maintain this idea that Wilbur wasn't always the bad guy, but honestly... I wouldn't be surprised if their introduction was still an animatic. Like bias is hard to check and I'm not going to lie I could have sworn I watched both Wilbur's AND Tommy's video on the SMP in the beginning and yet I STILL was a ride or die for tragic yet on some level still honorable Wilbur and a resilient Tommy.

Like... upon watching Wilbur's first video... possibly again I was surprised because I thought I did watch it like right before I even started watching the streams and yet I was still so invested in c!Wilbur as this tortured anti-hero.

It took 6 months of... not being in an echo chamber, full of multiple different people of different ages, different stream POVS, and people who joined the fandom at different points in time.

IDK IF THIS WAS EVEN ENTIRELY RELEVANT IT JUST FELT TANGENTIALLY RELEVANT AND THIS WAS SOMETHING I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT FOR A HOT MINUTE AFTER LIKE WATCHING WILBUR'S FIRST VIDEO AGAIN.

TLDR;

SBI CENTRIC ANIMATICS HAD A LASTING AFFECT ON THIS FANDOM AS IT'S HARD TO GO BACK AND ACTUALLY CHECK THE NARRATIVE FOR SOLID FACTS FOR YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION BASED ON THE FACT THAT THIS NARRATIVE SPANS OVER HUNDREDS OF HOURS WORTH OF TWITCH STREAMS.

nana rewatch notes- episode 12

-this episode starts with hachi telling us that ever since she was a kid, all she wanted was to “become a beautiful bride”. there was nothing else that she wanted to be. this has to do with a “beautiful bride” symbolizing happiness/the ideal way to be happy and avoid loneliness. again i think hachi sees dependency on others as a way to avoid loneliness. as a result she rushes into relationships and mold herself into whatever need be to keep the relationship afloat. as we see with shoji, she then realizes she doesn’t end up feeling happy or fulfilled in the relationship.

-before this, hachi says “im straying from the subject, but please bear with me.” isn’t this a part of her narration to nana? who is hachi’s audience? WHAT IS THE SUBJECT? Most of hachi’s reflective narration is about her relationship with nana and/or what happened between them- so maybe thats why she thinks she’s straying from the subject, but that also means she intentionally included this bit--who does she want to know this? why??? so much to think about.

-i forgot how funny nana gets when she’s drunk lmao

-hachi’s style is constantly changing…gemini rising

-hachi is so sure that nana loved yasu and vice versa which...yes and no. while hachi isn’t WRONG, it’s also a lot more complicated than i think she originally perceives. her conclusions for why anyone ever does something burns down to “they must be in love”. granted, hachi is also missing a huge puzzle piece (ren)

- i also cant believe it took me so long to see how much hachi and nobu have in common the first time watching this. it’s painful to watch this time around.

-am i being mean to hachi? i always feel like im being mean to her lol. these are all reasons why i love her so much i promise. i think her flaws are portrayed and executed in both clever and unique ways.

-also really interesting that the first reason hachi thinks yasu is stoic around nana must be bc he has a girlfriend

-another thing worth pointing out is that while hachi’s assumptions are often treated silly+naive by the rest of the characters, she’s actually usually spot on abt others romantic feelings

-idk man…junko’s attitude considering the situation is super weird to me. and this line is just sad. hachi is just baggage that shoji has the burden handling.

-okay but what does shoji actually like about hachi? has he ever said?? no.

-hachi easily changes her look for jobs- she even manages her speech pattern- when i say gemini rising

-she was so excited to see them play!! ahh love them. also, this montage playing over shoji saying that he wont betray hachi…yeah.

“if nana was a guy, she would be the love of my life. back then i often thought that. however if that were the case, i doubt we would’ve been left with only happy memories. because love and pain go hand in hand.”

-hmmm so hachi and nana definitely dont only end up with happy memories. it’s fair to assume that hachi meant that nana never hurt her (which isn’t true either). hachi probably means that she doesn’t blame nana for anything that happened between them. there’s of course A LOT to say about hachi’s constant comparison between nana and romantic partners on top of hachi always saying how much easier being with nana was, even though her relationship with nana was no less complicated. i think it felt less complicated to hachi bc she was in love with nana. idk i just think hachi is showing some lesbian behavior.

-also hachi has a boyfriend as she’s thinking this lol.

ive decided i actually love reading dsmp au fic taking place in the real world where the author has techno as a fencer to keep with his in-game/in-universe swordsmanship skills, but the author doesnt actually know anything abt fencing at all and they just kind of guess or do very quick research. bc its entirely fair, there's a lot about fencing as a sport you just wouldnt be able to guess with no prior knowledge. but it IS occasionally really funny

the other day i read a fic which included another character going to watch techno at a fencing tournament who was upset about how loud the trip to the tournament was, bc they were sharing a car with tommy and wilbur. they then showed up and had a great time watching the tournament, which was noted to be not as loud. and i know the author had no way of knowing it, but the machines you use to score fencing bouts beep so much. every time you get a touch they emit this shrill little screech for like 5 seconds. and a tournament generally has a lot of strips, so a fencing tournament is just... half a dozen to dozens of strips (depending on how big of a tournament it is) of little screaming boxes up and down the room, constantly beeping. you get used to it, but objectively its truly awful

which made reading that piece unintentionally hilarious, and it makes me wonder what kind of stuff ive written makes some assumption thats super obviously wrong and hysterical to people who know better

welp here she is, Lea Boudreaux, vampire queen.

-so the more obvious route I think wouldve been to make the founder a sorta mall goth typa gal who’s obsessed with the dark and gloomy aspects of the occult. Lea is into that stuff to an extent but her ACTUAL interest is the lore. The history of it all is endlessly fascinating and its a world she desperately wanted to make a home for herself in. So She Did.

-now to get into the fun romance shenanigans cuz whats a vampire story without romance drama? lol. At first I was kinda going in with the assumption that Lea wouldn’t really be the type thats super invested in finding a romantic partner ya know? If it happens it happens. And then it happened a lot.

-I did give Caleb a makeover... but really i only changed his hair. 

-Lea and Caleb really hit it off as friends too, and I was kinda expecting him to turn her down when she asked to be turned cuz their friendship level wasnt THAT high yet. but he said yes! And after she turned, he started flirting with her more frequently too. But idk I wasn’t really vibing their romance much, and then she met Joaquin while at a party and they were just great. 

-Here’s the story though, so Lea and Caleb went to this party, they aren’t officially dating yet but they have been flirting a lot and since he turned her Caleb thinks theyre wayyy more serious than Lea does. So he catches her checking out other guys at the party and obvi this upsets him. The two talk it out and wind up deciding to be official. Of course the next day Joaquin still has Lea on his mind and calls her to ask her on a date. In the spur of the moment she says yes, but immediately goes back on it saying she can’t cuz shes in a relationship. Which obvi crushes him quite a bit.

-Lea and Caleb go out for a while but he apparently isn’t interested in having kids. Not to mention he doesn’t seem to appreciate her friendship with Meshram all that much. To be fair tho Meshram is a Smug Bastard. After they break up Lea takes a break from romance in order to just focus on the family she wants to make, she doesnt need a man for that. Meshram has platonically supported her through a lot of her fledgling vampire days and agrees easily to help her have her first kid(which happens to be twins!)

-In the meanwhile we have the offspring, in order of who got turned first to last. Blake, love her, she’s a lil scam artist and has a tendency to take advantage of Lea’s willingness to help. But theyre also really good friends and Lea finds her shenanigans pretty amusing. Hana is actually one of Lea’s coworkers! She’s a real hotheaded sim with some anger management issues, but a good person. Jules met Lea via Blake, he was visiting Blake’s apartment when he decided to try and grill something and then Caught On Fire. I’ve decided he’s a bit of a himbo cuz Ive saved him from burning to death TWICE now!!!! Diego is the most distant of the gang, he’s really only close with Lea. Not overly interested in the goofier personalities of Blake and Jules and often getting into arguments with Hana. Last and Certainly not least, Lily! She was the latest addition to the group, one of Lea’s long time friends and I like to imagine was besties with her even before the start of the challenge.

- When the twins reached toddlerhood, Lea reached out to Joaquin to start over as just friends. It was pretty wholesome. They bonded over music a lot and slowly sort of fell in love again, and he was great with the twins so it just worked out! They then had two more kids together, first Lydia, and then Greyson.
