wrt the whole loss of innocence thing and ppl perceiving phil as being "betrayed," i hope my and a lot of other ppls comments arent being misinterpreted as, "therefore dan is innocent and was pulled into this by a leader." no, the point is they are both on equal grounds. in terms of behavior, they both act exactly the same with the main difference being phil acting as dan's (and subsequently our) guide. they are hand in hand at the end cuz they are one and the same.

wrt actual dan and phil AS Dan And Phil™, their differences are not as exaggerated as they once were and instead theres a lot more focus on their similarities and the bizarre idiosyncrasies that they developed alongside each other and influenced by each other. even in little ways like, phil obv talks more with a slightly southern english accent bc hes been living in london, but dan also says a few words with a more northern accent that he used to say southern (eg, bath).

dan being the one who sacrifices phil is not at a higher position than phil being the sacrifice itself. phil being the guide is seemingly at a higher position than dan at first, but in the end they are exactly the same. thank you for coming to my ted talk

I wanted to draw Mask uncovered, looking at some of his scars, wounds and tattoos. I'm just assuming this needs a tag for violence even though the gore isnt very realistic. I know some people have been following a while and seen a lot of my character Mask - but for those that havent. This is Mask, my dnd character, head of the spy department for a mercenary company - The Brand. He's cursed so that some of his wounds never heal (he doesn't yet know which parts of his body the curse effects or how fast its spreading). Drawn here for once without his prosthetic arm.

Just wanted to drop in with a funky little headcanon that I cannot remove from my mind:

I specifically wanted to post this today because I wanna headcanon that Today, March 20th is Jack's actual birthday.

Jack is a fucking FRAUD and his birthday is in SPRING. He was "born" on the spring equinox, firmly a springtime boy and he DESPISES IT.

He HATES that his own birthday doesn't fit the Frost Branding, and has been lying about it for FOREVER. He's been lying about it for so long that he's successfully buried the lead and everyone now thinks his birthday is December 21st (the winter solstice).

Nobody must know that THE SPIRIT OF WINTER was born on the first day of spring. A travesty if there ever was one.

C'est d'ailleurs pour cela que l'on peut la comparer à la bombe atomique.

Pas seulement parcequ'elle touche aussi nos foyers ; mais comme l'arme atomique qui est un flux de puissance supérieure à toutes les armes fabriquées jusque-là , la Révolution Numérique crée un flux d'images et d'informations comme on en avait jamais vu jusqu'à nous. Cela sur le moindre comme sur le grand.

Aujourd'hui l'individu lambda, Monsieur ou Madame Toutlemonde, peut-être aussi connu, sinon mieux, que les célébrités des époques antérieures.

Aujourd'hui, un produit, un service, peut être étudié, "mis à nue ", avec ses qualités et ses défauts, comme seulement le faisaient les spécialistes des bureaux d'études, lorsqu'ils produisaient leurs rapports ; rapports dont les conclusions se limitaient à des réunions pre-productives. Ou destinés à figurer dans des magazines spécialisés réservés à une minorité de consommateurs désireux d'être avertis.

Le système actuel de vente internet permet, bien entendu, une meilleure flexibilité pour l'Entreprise, le client ayant la possibilité d'acheter sans se déplacer et à n'importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit. Et s'il lui permet ainsi d'avoir accès à tout ce qui concerne le produit désiré, des communications publicitaires aux démonstrations sérieuses, elle lui donne aussi accès aux mauvaises critiques voire aux démonstrations négatives. Tout cela en quelques clics.

L'image, en général, et l'image de marque en particulier, "The Brand", ont donc prit une plus grande importance. Nouveauté compte tenu de la facilité avec laquelle on peut la construire ; mais aussi de la rapidité avec laquelle on peut la deconstruire. Sans parler de la rapidité de circulation des informations jusque dans nos maisons ; sur nos ordinateurs, téléphones et tablettes.

La construction de cette image de marque est devenue une priorité impérative pour l'Entreprise et ses produit. Mais doit se construire indépendamment du chemin parcouru par la dite entreprise et ses produits. Car si auparavant l'image de marque se construisait par le travail et la qualité des produits finis : Il suffisait de faire savoir, ensuite les vendeurs et leurs clients faisaient la majorité du reste...Ou pas. De nos jours, la rapidité et la profusion de l'information exige une présence permanente.

L'absence peut devenir une arme pour la concurrence. Dégommer un produit, un service...(Mais cela n'est pas le sujet de cet article...)

La simple absence de réaction, qu'elle soit adéquate ou pas, peut-être catastrophique pour l'indice des ventes. Voire empêcher simplement l'Entreprise de décoller.

Et donc, s'il faut construire cette image de marque, il faut ensuite l'imposer tout en se préparant à la défendre. C'est là qu'intervient le Community Manager et les agences de Communication ! S'en passer, n'est pas seulement une erreur, mais prendre un risque aux conséquences incalculables pour l'Entreprise.

Car il est impératif de maîtriser cette Revolution Numérique afin d'éviter de se noyer dans la saturation d'images et d'informations ; bien souvent peu utile. Et de se trouver une place solide, dans ce grand magasin ouvert à tous les vents qu'est devenu la "toile". Une fois installé, de la défendre avec assiduité.

sorry i dont have anyone to talk to this about lol so it's going in your inbox but i'm in my mid-20s and only now for the first time in my life have i changed my mind on rpf specifically because of phanfic. i'm a returning phannie but like.... the last time i watched them was all the way back in 2012. and was very ani-rpf then and have continued to be through the years. and i think in a lot of cases i maintain that position. but after falling back in love with dnp and the phandom and caving into the urge to read some phanfic knowing that dnp themselves encourage and respect it im kind of shocked to find it's actually a really beautiful, metatextual, interactive creative outlet. i think youve talked a bit about how phanfic isnt really rpf to you and i kind of agree, because dan and phil to me are like.... an idea, a mythology, a narrative, that theyre aware of and have built as well as being aware that we're aware of. like the idea of dan and phil has been constructed by them and their fans hand in hand for over a decade. and i find that phanfic itself is very aware of this and exists to expand upon those ideas. lol. yeah that's it sorry for this ramble. i just find it surprising that something could change my mind on that in this day and age but it's been a very cool experience.

but yeah i think a lot of it is due to the contrastive relationships between the brand of Dan and Phil™, their separate individual brands Daniel Howell and AmazingPhil (particularly dan), the Phanon dnp, and the actual real people dan and phil. i always go back to the fanfiction segment of tatinof but its just such a perfect example of what i mean. like, the entire idea to have a fanfic scene was ofc the real people's idea, and they used tropes they would see in the phanon to convey the audience interactive story, but at the same time had to keep it at least Somewhat appropriate for the Brand™ at the time being very pre-teen and teen focused. honestly idk how much you've gone back and watched of what you missed, but i would suggest doing that not just cuz theres some incredible stuff from those eras, but also seeing the intersection of the brand, fanon, and real people and when they split apart. you see it a lot especially in gaming videos imo where theyre unscripted, and once they got more comfortable in the gaming channel roles the energy shifting away from Brand but never too far... until ofc now where what even is their brand anymore just Chaos and Queerness i guess

OH ALSO go read some old fic and compare to newer ones like its not just that writing styles changed or that dnp themselves have changed, but the like. energy and intent put into fic has changed. i would say in the past it was more exploratory, putting dnp in AU's and imagines, or exploring what Could have happened. whereas now, yes ofc there are au's and fic for the purpose of exploring a concept or world, but also its a lot more introspective. exploring the inner world a bit more. idk i just thijk dnp are funny lil guys and they accidentally created some freaky lil creatures in a lab somewhere...

having a child has taught me that every toddler is completely justified in their frustrations and tantrums because learning how to do something you have literally never encountered or heard of before is insane. and being expected to be completely calm in the face of this constant barrage of overwhelming information is doubly insane.

i got charlie a sticker activity book and it occurred to me i have to TEACH someone how to unpeel stickers. it's SKILL that requires DEXTERITY and FINE MOTOR ABILITY. i thought it was obvious that you have to curl the page a little bit to create a break in the cut so the sticker comes up.

obviously a fucking BABY wouldn't know that because they have no background experience to inform their thought process. OBVIOUSLY. and OBVIOUSLY the LITERAL BABY wouldn't get it right the first few times. it would OBVIOUSLY take practice. lots of it.
