Watching you felt almost wrong. The neglect he’s given you through the years- the pain you’ve felt and him not caring about you for as long as he’s known you.

He didn’t deserve to watch this beautiful sight of his family, the family he didn’t even want. The family he wasn’t even apart of. You two were an arranged marriage, married for political reasons. He needed an heir, your father needed peace on your home planet. You and your children had always been a nuisance to him. 

You had given up on the romantic attempts years ago. But something in this sight, something about you right then made him sick. Something made him click taking in this view from the balcony on the hill.

For weeks he had longing feelings of sadness. He hated admitting it and rejected it as much as he could, but light was seeping into the cracks. His moods began to lighten softly, not enough for you to notice but enough to scare him. Now looking down and feeling this, it was just a confirmation of what was really happening to him.

The sun shown down on your beautiful yellow dress that was layed out on the grass. Your hair was up in intricate braids due to the heat on Naboo, the tiny loose strands were swaying in the wind. The field you sat in was just off a short cliff, the beautiful rural city and coast were just feet away. The perfect escape between the busy city and the old city. The mansion sat atop the hill, separating the two separate terrains. You were on a vacation and had begged him to come for the sake of his children.

Your oldest son ran around you in circles, playing with a TIE one of his father’s assistants bought him for Christmas. Kylo couldn’t be bothered to celebrate, let alone give gifts. Henry was just shy of his sixth birthday. His blonde hair was messy and in need of a cut sometime soon. His gray tunic and black pants matched his father’s aesthetic a little too much for your liking. Running around, he made engine sounds as the ship would like a typical 5 year old.

Your youngest daughter sat in front if you, playing with some wildflowers she had plucked into an array of ‘jewlery’. She was three. Unlike her brother, she had beautiful strong brown hair. Unbeknownst to you, it completely mirrored her grandmothers. You had her hair in your hands, coming through it with your fingers trying to decide what design to attempt today. Amala squirmed as she attempted to join her brother, but you kept her in place in your lap. She was to learn to be a lady as you were. Her dark pink dress was spread out in front of her.

Kylo watched you as the pit in his stomach felt odd. It had always been empty, but this time something ached inside of it. He had never had any interest in you. The times you ever had sex were intended and resulted in children, exactly what he needed. He cared more about Henry than Amala. Henry was the oldest and the heir to the First Order. But work called. He was never a family man, he was never meant to be a family man.

These feelings continued to conflict him throughout the night.

As the sun set you came in with the children. The nannies took them upstairs and readied them for bed. You took your place at the long dinner table. On the opposite side sat your husband- legally.

Over the years you obviously lusted for other men. You didn’t even dare act on your thoughts, or barely thought the thoughts at all. You knew Kylo would have their heads within seconds. With an absent husband emotionally and physically it was hard. In the first few years of your marriage, you struggled with fertility problems. Life was so lonely without the children. He grew angrier and angrier with you each time you got your cycle and your anxiety got so bad that it soon stopped. Your doctor moved you to separate chambers and eventually Henry was conceived after years of trying.

You felt like a failure before your son was born.

After copious amounts of treatment during your pregnancy, Henry was born. And then a while after that Supreme Leader Snoke granted you permission to have another. An heir and a spare.

You and Kylo sat silently eating your dinner. Over the years, you had perfected your etiquette. No slurping your wine, no scratching of the fork on the plate. At dinner you would mostly go over your thoughts from the day. The tuition papers you had to sign for Henry’s first school next year. Amala refusing to listen to her nanny and requesting her mommy really warmed your heart. The beautiful memory of that day you had spent with the children. The fact that you were doing it alone and was so good at it.

He listened to your thoughts. You knew he did. No datapad, no work bot giving him constant coded updates you didn’t understand. Tonight it was just the two of you. Two strangers eating dinner together. The show, the facade had to go on. Media wise you two were the loveliest couple in the galaxy. In reality, you spoke maybe once a week.

“R-80!” you called from the dining room. Kylo’s head shot up from his plate of food to see you waiting on the cleaner droid. You had finished the meal and was waiting to leave this awkward encounter.

The droid came around and you began to exit the room. His hand deliberately reached out for yours as you walked past him to get to the door.

A tiny gasp escaped your lips. You stopped and pulled your hand back, a concerned look was on display.

You were begging in your mind for this to had been an accident.

“It was no accident,” he said strongly. His deep voice boomed through your ears. You forgot how powerful it could be sometimes.

For the first time in years Kylo was feeling anxiety. Over something so minuscule, speaking to his wife. His eyes met and darted over your face. He recognized the braid pattern in your hair. You had worn it on your wedding day. Rarely he had seen it on you, depending if he even noticed you on the daily. His eyes were drawn to your dark lipstick on the lips that were slightly pursed.

“Your hair-” he said. Your eyes flicked up to the window, looking for any sign of a reflection.

Did he hate it, was he about to tell you to never wear it again? Was a strand so obviously out of place? Hell, why was he even speaking to you in the first place?

“It’s how it was on our wedding day, if I remember correctly.”

You nodded your head. Heat rose to your cheeks. This is the longest conversation you two have had in months.

He stared into your eyes. He forgot just how beautiful you really were. They were still the same as always, but this time with a few unnoticeable lines around them. You refused to meet his gaze, staring forward at the distorted mirroring of the room in the window.

Ten years in with two kids, you had managed to keep up with yourself and your appearances. For what, you really weren’t sure anymore.

“May I be excused? I would like to go check on the children.” you asked, avoiding his eye contact.

“Yes, one moment.” he said, his hand reaching out for yours. You hesitantly took it.

Kylo took a deep breath. Even though he seemed calm and composed, inside of his head the red alarm was going off. The urge to even ask you this went against everything he believed in. The twist in his stomach snapped. He gave in to the light feelings, begging for more after how good he felt after asking you a simple question.

“May I sleep with you in your chambers tonight?”

Your brows furrowed. “D-did you talk to the Supreme Leader? Did he give you permission for another?” you asked him, worried. You loved your children but you had no say in having them. The Supreme Leader could make you give birth to an army if he willed.

“No, no. This isn’t about sex.” he assured you. Of course you assumed it was about sex. It was the only time he ever really spoke to you. A slight relief flew off your shoulders.

You sighed, taking your hand from his. “I’m going to check on the children.”

Your heels clicked down the empty hallway. Something in you secretly hoped that he would follow you to see the children, but you knew your husband.

You were baffled in his sudden change of heart. He hadn’t shared a bed with you since- well, since Amala was conceived. You didn’t deny his request, but neither confirmed it.

Your thoughts kept you company as you walked down the many corridors and hallways of the mansion.

The large door was cracked, left like that by the nannies. They knew your routine better than anyone else. Amala was sleeping closest to the door. The canopy above her bed was swaying from the wind of the open window. Henry was laying on his stomach in a deep sleep, his limbs all sprawled out over the large bed.

A smile rose to your face as you quietly closed the door. Your heart was full once again. No more doubt plagued the poor, confused thing from dinner.

You made your way to your chambers. You passed what you knew was Kylo’s. Shockingly, the door was open. You caught a glimpse of him working at his desk. He looked too large for the thing, trumping the tiny chair in size. The patio was open and the moonlight rushed in, lighting his room ominously.

He caught a glimpse of your flowing yellow dress passing his room. He wanted to finish up a few papers before bed, but in his heart he knew he had to neglect his work for one night.

He mustered up enough courage to knock on your door. A sweet “Coming!” came from inside. Within seconds, your door was open and he was met with your fresh face. You had changed into your night robes and had your natural hair down on your shoulders. The bathroom light was on and he noticed the fresh mint scent coming from your breathe.

Your night maids hadn’t been around yet, he presumed.

Something in your look, your energy died a bit when you saw him.

How had he never noticed? How could all these feelings, these guilt trips be plaguing him now, suddenly? What changed?

“We’re you hoping for a maid?” he asked, following you into the large room. He locked the door behind him.

You sat down back at your vanity, pulling your brush out of the drawer.

“No.” you replied. He knew you were lying.

The bed creaked as Kylo sat down. His dark grey dress pants were perfectly ironed and didn’t crease at the contact. He itched at his black turtleneck, swiping the cuff with his finger. He could hear his watch ticking from his wrist. The room was cold.

“May I ask why you wanted to be here?” you asked, a certain confidence in your voice had occurred. Turning now to face him, you finished brushing your hair and placed your hairbrush back in the drawer.

“Honestly darling, I’m really not sure.”

Darling?

If you weren’t so poised your jaw would have been on the floor.

“Today I saw a sight. You with the kids in the field.”

“Oh Kylo, there children. There’s nothing wrong with them playing in a field if this is what this is about-”

“No. I-”

Kylo Ren had never felt himself speechless before, yet again choking up at the sight of his family he used to despise.

Your tucked your chair back into your vanity. Now standing infront of the cowardly man, you waited for his response.

His hand cradled his forehead as he stared at the floor, watching your perfectly manicured feet come into frame.

That’s when he let his first sob out in years. You quickly embraced him in your arms, his forehead finding a resting place against your stomach. Your hands sprawled over his back in a cautious way. Peeking over ever so slightly, you checked if he had his lightsaber on his belt. Thank the gods he didn’t, you were afraid he would cut you into two.

Nobody had ever seen Kylo Ren cry.

“I don’t understand what you are getting at.” you whispered to him. Another sob came out, you began to rub his back.

“I-I am such a fool.” he managed to speak. His eyes looked up into yours, finally making contact for the first time in forever.

The look on your face was baffled.

“What have I been doing? I have a family- a wife? So much neglect, so much hate. How are you still here, my dear? How have I not driven you away, or driven you to worse? I-I have two children. Two beautiful children I don’t know and such a beautiful wife that I’m strangers with. So many years wasted. How did it take me ten years to see this? How did one small instance make my life come crumbling down around me?” he asked, bawling out his words.

You were speechless.

“I want to learn- please. How do I have such an amazing person with me and I don’t know the slightest thing about her? Tell me, w-what’s your middle name?” he went on, now holding you by the hips and eagerly speaking.

And that’s when it really hit you. You two were strangers.

“Amala,” you muttered out. “Oh! T-that makes so much sense—in our daughter. Her name,”

“What are there names, please tell me.” he seemed to beg.

“Henry Cornelius Benjaq Ren, Amala Charress Bryneri Ren.” you answered, a smile emerging on your lips.

Was this too good to be true?

Kylo was stunned of Henry’s middle name. Benjaq. There was no way you knew of his real name. The coincidence hurt him even more.

“Cornelius and Charress…” he pondered. “They sound so familiar are they…”

“My parents.” you answered him. “King Cornelius! How could I forget? Oh Y/N. I have neglected you for so long. How could you ever forgive me?”

His voice sounded genuine. “It’s definitely going to take time.” you sighed. Suddenly the years of loneliness and suffering flashed back in your mind. You broke away from his embrace and walked to the open balcony, giving him an invitation to follow.

“I will try. Please Y/N, let me.” he begged, following you outside.

The warm air brushed against your cool skin. You sighed, wishing you would wake up from this nightmare and your husband would be back. Did someone poison his food?

The yearning for anyone’s touch seeped into your mind. Watching all the other royal couples around the galaxy, they all seemed to love eachother. Hands touching almost constantly, sneaking a kiss or two at events. It was rare that you even got a photo with Kylo at the parties you would attend.

“I know,” he sighed, taking your hands into his. “I wish I could make it all go away.” he said with remorse.

The waves crashed against the sand. The wind was beginning to pick up. Your hair began to sway in the slight breeze. “Make it then,” you whispered, grazing a hand against his cheek. You dared giving him any sign of affection. You were half expecting him to pull his lightsaber out and cut you in half, just as you thought before. Something felt so wrong, but so right.

You kissed your husband for the first time since your wedding day. His lips were slightly chapped and you could taste the negroni he was drinking at dinner. The moon show down on the both of you, and the feeling he felt seemed to pass on to you. Force sensitive or not, the force was in your favor tonight. You felt the remorse and the pain he had been harboring for years. All the sleepless nights over work and heartache over his past life. You seemed to dilute all of that inside of him. You were the missing piece he was looking for all along. The thing he wanted the least was now his prized possession; his wife, the mother of his children, his Queen, his Empress.

All of that love came back. The feeling of when he was a little boy and still had light into him entered his heart once again. Ben Solo seeped through the cracks of his dark, broken heart.

👑🍑 The Queens Of Nintendo 🌼👑

💖I ain’t never seen two pretty best friends-🧡

To tell you guys the truth, I’ve never really been too big on the Mario Tennis games. Don’t get me wrong, they do have their charm, but they just weren’t as exciting to me as the Kart and Party games. But that doesn't mean I dislike them, far from it. My personal favorites are Power Tennis, Tennis Aces, and the subject of today’s art; N64’s Mario Tennis, and this art was made as a (belated) 24th Anniversary to the game, hence Peach and Daisy’s classic designs <3.

Also made this as a (belated) 35th Anniversary to Miss Daisy herself. Wanted to draw her and Peach together because A. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve last drawn her and I’m over the moon that I’m doing it again, and B; last year and this year has just been one big W for both of my girls. Like, I finally get a Mario game where I can play as my fav Princesses that isn’t Kart, Sport, or Party related? Yes please! 💕

I just have a huge love and appreciation for both of these ladies, I’ve always hated the whole Peach vs Daisy rivalry that was so prominent back in the fandom back in the 2010s (not to mention how kinda toxic they quickly get 😬). Thankfully things have calmed down, but I still do see it here and then sometimes. Especially really hate how Daisy is often portrayed as this catty, spiteful, mean girl bully-type character towards Peach in fanart and animations. Ik she’s meant to be sassy and spunky, but having her do unnecessarily violent things like catfighting and throwing things at Peach just feels kinda wrong to me. Nintendo literally describes the two as being, “sisters in arms”, so can we just not make them be toxic towards each other for one damn second 💀

Personally, I think they both rule. They’re not perfect characters and they have their flaws, but that’s what makes them great. Plus I’m a huge sucker for the whole trope of the girly girl and tomboy duo. I was a mix of both as a youngin’, so I immediately related to both princesses. I love Peach’s bubbly, poised, and unapologetically girly personality, and I love Daisy’s boisterous, fun-loving, and sporty personality.

Also had a little bi-crush on both of them as a kid, but that’s a whole subject to talk about for another time 👀👀👀

This might be such a silly question and I'm sorry to bother you with it but I saw you answer the ask about the Soulmate Mark!AU and now I'm curious; I know you don't really read or write those kinds of AUs but I was thinking about writing one myself and just wanted to ask what you think the McCall pack (or even just Theo and Liam) would have in a wings!au or a daemon!au? As for wings, I can imagine Theo having some utterly ruined and ragged wings that are missing feathers and patchy with scars in some places that slowly heal over as he joins the McCall pack. For the daemon!au could also see Liam having something like a golden retriever (Liam coded) but also a pitbull or another typically dog bread thats not actually so viscous but is treated that way (IED coded), and I can also imagine Theo having one thing as a child but it unsettled (changed form when it shouldn't during times of great stress or trauma) during his time with the Dread Doctors only to resettle into something entirely different after the skinwalkers prison. I don't know, I'm sorry to dump this on you especially because it's not something you enjoy but you've always got such great thoughts and even if I don't even up writing it I'm sure someone might..... sorry

Absolutely no apologies necessary, I take it as a compliment that you’re interested in my thoughts at all. 😊

I will be 100% honest, I am not familiar with what Wings!AU’s even are. But going off of context clues, it seems like a type of story where people have wings that reflect who they are as people? If that’s the case, then I think your idea for Theo having ragged and scarred wings that heal would definitely work—that would track with how I generally see his arc. I could also see him having mechanical wings, especially very steampunk-y. He was an experiment, he was made in a lot of ways. It’s possible that something could have happened to his original wings, or that the Doctors thought they could “improve” them. I think it could be especially interesting if they were mechanical but also designed to look organic.

Or—and this just occurred to me—the wings could be his chimeric half. To really crank up the angst factor, they could be, y’know, his sister’s. 😬

As for the daemon!AU—this one I admit I get! I loved the Golden Compass series. I like your idea for Liam’s, I think that makes a lot of sense—something that seems dangerous, and can be, but whose nature isn’t necessarily to be. Theo is harder. I like your idea a lot of Theo having one thing only for it to start changing again during his time with the Doctors (though admittedly, I can’t remember what the theoretical age range is for daemons settling, and he may have been to young prior). I am also taken with the idea of it never settling, either because of the trauma, or out of a deliberate effort—either Theo’s or the Doctors’. It would fit into him being a spy—being able to change to his shape at will—and also into the whole “unnatural” bit about who and what he is. In that vein, I’d have to admit I’m torn as to whether I like the idea of it ever settling—I’m kind of taken with the idea that it doesn’t, and Theo learns to accept and appreciate that part of himself—or it does settle, and that’s the sign of his beginning to heal.

hey a little tag game i want to try!!! order your favorite twst dorms from least fave to favorite!

Scarabia: their characters on their own are good but seeing them together makes me extremely uncomfortable?? it’s probably because the orientalism plus people shipping together..it’s not jamil and kalims fault but i have a complicated relationship with scarabia

Octavinelle: idk they just don’t stand out to me. jade is neat but i feel like the tweels are overhyped. don’t really have an opinion about azul

Savanaclaw: again the characters are great but. as a whole they don’t stand out to me. i love jack and ruggie but leona 😬 if you got rid of the sarcasm and smug expression he would be a cool character (i kin him more than i would like) but i feel like he’s wasted potential. also book 2 was the hardest to get through because it was so boring it really did them dirty

Heartslabyul: the card guys!! don’t really care much about them either..i usually like alice in wonderland vibes but their dorm uniforms are the worst things i’ve ever seen. WHY DO THEY WEAR T-SHIRTS?? other than that i don’t have much to say about them.

Pomefiore: THE GAYS okay they’re awesome. this is mostly because of rook i just really like rook. and rookvil. epels great to actually. also on the complete opposite note their dorm uniforms are amazing (maybe even my favorite) i would totally wear them myself. but even though they’re in the top three i don’t really think about them more than any of the other dorms.

Ignihyde: okay of course my second favorite dorm is the cute family. what did you expect. but also they are so interesting?? book 6 has been the best book so far especially with all the lore. also ortho is best boy AND LITERALLY A ROBOT. how can you not like precious robot boy who loves his brother. also their designs are cool the hades hair and teeth are very gender.

Diasomnia: you already knew this was coming. my beloved dark romanticism found family dorm<33 i am literally obsessed with them okay. not only are their designs peak gender but they’re WRITING is so. augh. just the contrast between them. we got two faes who are centuries old and have experienced years upon years of hardship. war. suffering. and then we have two (one and a half) humans who have never experienced loss. or grief. they are honest and hardworking and loyal, they represent youth and joy!! and yet they all have so much LOVE and TRUST for eachother it makes me go INSANE!!!! also you can never miss with gothic aesthetics and fairies…literally the greatest thing out there

anyways in conclusion i think any dorm that isn’t diasomnia and doesn’t have tragedy and fate weaved inside them are plain and boring. if i placed your favorite dorm low feel free to tell me why im wrong and why they are the best!! i would love to hear :)) (also feel free to include ramshackle too)

Well, this is a bit awkward. I actually didn’t reblog that specific ask post. I’ll still answer for you, though!

3. A screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on Tumblr.

Hmmm…I certainly have seen a few. One that definitely sticks out to me, though, is someone saying that DuckTales 2017 “ruined” Donald’s family tree. Don’t remember all the details, but it was, in essence, purism towards the comics and bemoaning the finale twist. On one hand, I kinda see what they’re saying, but on the other, to quote Matt Damon, “No offense, Tammy, but drink my blood.”

12. The unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them.

That’s actually kinda tough. I don’t know how unpopular we’re talking here, so I’ll give two on this.

First one: she’s not necessarily unpopular, but she isn’t always given her proper dues. The sentiment isn’t only on me, so that kinda does elevate her to ensemble dark horse status, or popularly unpopular, but I’ll argue for her, anyway: Violet Sabrewing.

More people should like/pay notice to Violet because there’s more to her than meets the eye. She’s one of those characters that’s super easy to misread or generalize, and that’s a shame, because she’s way more than just “the stoic nerd”. She’s clever, daring, eclectic, loyal, and badass. Violet doesn’t automatically come across with over-the-top characterization, so she kinda has to have more attention paid to her in episodes where she has a bigger role in order to be better understood. Just to take note of those little details in her characterization and her interactions with others.

Plus, her design is just super aesthetically pleasing.

Now, the other one: he doesn’t have as many fan works surrounding him, and he didn’t have a lot of big moments in the show, so this is probably a straighter example of “unpopular” than Violet. He’s just a super interesting character if you really think about it: Fethry Duck.

He had, what, maybe 1-2 episodes where he played a big role, and that’s it. Which is rather unfortunate, because Fethry is a great character! He had a very unique route taken with him in the show: being a marine biologist at the underwater labs, usually not having anyone else besides the creatures he works with for company.

His eccentricities make him misunderstood by those around him, but he keeps a positive attitude about him. He’s just super used to his circumstances, and he does what he does really well. Plus, I just think The Depths of Cousin Fethry! is a super good representation of what it’s like to be autistic.

So, yeah, that’s why I think more people should like both Violet and Fethry.

Hellfire Gala Looks

Overall- pretty disappointing compared to previous designs….

It’s too bad Hellion isn’t a big enough character- because Julian is one of the few X-Men with good taste! (Sorry-not sorry; almost ALL of Julian’s costumes are great!)

Jean is the obvious winner- I don’t like the skirt-but the rest of it is really cool!

I didn’t bother including Emma’s from this year- it’s cute, don’t get me wrong- but it’s nowhere as iconic as her previous looks…

Vault Laura/ Talon’s is a blah letdown (kind of like the character…)

I get they’re going for more of a goth look- but it’s just boring 😐

Also the shoes and belt are HIDEOUS! 😬

Honestly all of Laura’s Hellfire looks have been pretty terrible- the minute Laura became Wolverine was the minute all her sense of taste went out the window 😐

Synch looks…better; for matching couples outfits, I guess?? Those shoes and belt are HORRIBLE though!

Synch’s previous looks haven’t been this bad…which makes me think Talon was the primary person pushing the look and Hellion might have dodged a definite fashion crisis! 😂🤣

Tempus is the only winner of the five here- the simple hair and flapper dress looks amazing!

Hope just looks like she’s stealing Nature Girl’s look…

Elixir…looks like a gold Matador? It’s not good.

Egg is too much yet also not enough. It just looks half assed.

Proteus basically looks like a genie…

Sadly Storm didn’t have one…ALSO Storm has been the biggest letdown of the Hellfire Gala for years- since she is HANDS DOWN- the most FASHIONABLE X-Men. Shame ON YOU MARVEL.

Hmm… My best advice—depending on your specific role—is shields🛡️

Get the stage manager between you and the director, get the technical director or designers between you.

If you’re primarily a technician (like me), you know the extent of what your venue’s technology can do, and the director knows what they want (theoretically)… When these two things are at odds, one of the people I listed is probably better prepared to intervene and more likely to be taken seriously if the director is being stubborn or not willing to listen to you. In my experience, SMs, TDs, and designers are great at finding that middle ground, interpreting what the director actually wants, and finding a practical way for you to actually accomplish it, because that’s part of their job and experience. They can also bring in the big guns that you might not be able to: “We can do X…but it will take Y hours and $$$.” A lot of the time a good, firm reality check will make the director back down to something that can reasonably done in your actual timeframe and budget. If they still hold firm, it is no longer your problem—you’re not the one who made the call. Phew!

If you need to, talk to one of them when the director isn’t around. Explain the situation and ask them to talk to the director for you—shield! 🛡️ You shouldn’t have to be the Bad Guy. Obviously, everyone’s job boils down to “make what the director wants (even if they change their mind a bunch) happen,” but the technician isn’t (or at least, in my opinion, shouldn’t be) the first line of defence against doing something crazy or impossible.

(If you are one of those people I mentioned already, god help you, because I sure can’t 😬)

(Please note that the following section is completely tongue in cheek and not actual advice lmao) If all else fails, there’s the last-ditch option that I like to call Shiny Baby Keys (we could also call it Director Gaslighting but if you do we don’t know each other). This is where you jingle your pretty, shiny keys (saying you made a stupid change when you actually haven’t) in front of the baby (director) to distract them into forgetting it and moving on. (It’s…seriously weird how often this happens:

Director: Could you raise that 3dB/take that down 15 percent?

Me: Oh, ok, I’ll—

Director: Perfect!

Me: I haven’t—

Designer: 🤐

Me: Ok I’m glad that fixed it for everyone!)

Ok, no one asked, but here are my thoughts / impressions of the DWTS 32 cast, and I’m going to be honest, I had to google more people on this cast than any other season before so 😬:

Excited for:

Ariana Madix: I am obsessed with all things Bravo and the #Scandoval was literally my entire life for about for 4 months. She has dance and performing experience, and I think she’s going to be really good. Plus, having Pasha as a pro, the choreography he is going to give her 😍 (not to be morbid, but this is actually the couple I’m most sad that Len won’t get to see 😢)

Alyson Hannigan: I was a Buffy fan and loved HIMYM (until that god awful finale 🤮) so I am so happy (but very surprised tbh) to see her on the cast. Idk how much of a natural mover she’ll be, but I think she’s going to have a really great attitude and just enjoy the experience. I am expecting typical Sasha so…yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jason Mraz: I’m mostly excited for him because he’s with Daniella tbh 😂 she always does such great work with her partners and is able to pull the very best out of them. I can see him being a good performer and them being a very strong team. Also, yay to new mommy, Daniella! 💗

Mira Sorvino: Romy! I know she has had a rough time (fuck you H*rvey W*instein🖕🏻) and I hope this journey brings her happiness and joy and she sees how much support she has and why, oh why did they have to partner her with Gleb 😩

Intrigued by:

Tyson Beckford: Wow. He is 😍 isn’t he? And apparently his only dance experience is a guest performance with Chippendales (shocking 😂) which will be interesting because we all know how Jenna is as a teacher 😬. I predict a lot of shirts being taken off 🙄 (but also 😏) And again, yay to new mommy, Jenna! 💗

Matt Walsh: Seen him guest star on almost every sitcom ever 😂 and I see his trajectory going one of two ways: he’s terrible and voted out early, or he’s the lovable guy the GP falls in love with because of his dedication and journey. He’s either low hanging fruit or a dark horse and with Koko as his partner, I would lean towards dark horse.

Mauricio Umansky: So…(separated?) husbands of Real Housewives are stars now? Whatever 🙄 and honestly out of all the House Husbands, I am unbelievably grateful this is the one they chose. (istg if it was any of those misogynistic animals from RHONJ, I would not have watched this season) but anyway, I think he’ll work hard but not take it too seriously (not in a bad way) and he’ll have fun with it. Plus, it will be a cold day in hell before I don’t support Emma Slater. And aren’t they both single? 😏 I want an entanglement in the ballroom! 😂

Barry Williams: I’m only intrigued because we’ll probably get some sweet Florence Henderson mentions / memories because of him 😢. And Peta is definitely the designated first out partner atp. But it probably works for her so 🤷🏻‍♀️ and yay to mommy x2 Peta! 💗

Have heard of them, but don’t know them:

Charity Lawson: I know she was the Bachelorette but other than that, I got nothing. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I always root for Artem, and he’s pretty consistent with his partners and choreography. That combined with Bachelor Nation, very possible they make the Finals unless she is absolutely, undeniably terrible (which I doubt) or if shenanigans happen

Xochitl Gomez: I’ve heard her name before, but I always thought she was a singer 🥴 my bad 😂 I haven’t watched anything Marvel related in almost two years, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ she’ll probably go far especially because of the Disney / ABC connection as well as Val being the most production assisted pro in DWTS history (sorry, but y’all know how I feel about Val 🤮 😂) but I do think she’s going to be fun to watch and actually be a good dancer, I just don’t have faith her partner will give her good choreography. We’ll see how (or if) that effects things (probably not)

Had absolutely no idea who they were:

Lele Pons: Influencer? I guess? She seems nice and I love how excited she is to be on the show. I think she’s going to be a lot of fun and maybe this can be a breakthrough season for Brandon🤞🏻

Harry Jowsey: Reality Star? Dating show? Youtuber? I have no idea tbh. And, not to go all Karen Smith, but if he’s British, why isn’t he on Strictly? 🤨 But very much looking forward to Rylee as a pro. I always enjoyed Lindsay as a teacher / choreographer, so let’s see if it runs in the family 😂

Adrian Peterson: I WISH I STILL DIDN’T KNOW WHO HE WAS. WTF 🤬 Poor Britt. To go from Daniel to this? The ultimate downgrade 😔

Competence Is the Key

The ability to learn competence is one of the most important traits anyone can have. I wasn’t always great at delivering on time. In fact, I almost got fired early on in my video production career. I was too slow and didn’t fully understand what was expected of me. 😬 But I made the choice to improve.

I started paying more attention to what the client really wanted. I learned to balance my process with what was actually needed to get the job done. It wasn’t easy, but the lesson was invaluable. Competence isn’t just something you’re born with—it’s something you develop over time. 📈

Focus on What Matters

The process is great, but it’s for you, not the client. The client cares about the end result. If you can deliver what they need without compromising your own methods, you’re golden. And if that means tweaking your process, then go ahead and do it. Clients are always evolving, and so should you! 🌱

The biggest mistake I see people make is focusing too much on how they’ve always done things. If the market shifts or the client’s needs change, you need to adapt. Adapt or die, right?

A real beauty and right up there with the best away kits. The away kit is superb, with the all black shirt and the colorful trim on the sleeves. The home kit is quite snazzy isn’t it!? The paint/graffiti designs on the shoulders are out there, but I like it. What are your thoughts on the new threads? Manchester City has revealed its away kits for the 2022-23 season! The third kit stands out and is a nod to some of their classic fluorescent numbers in years gone by. The away kit is also a classic red and black stripe number but the horizontal lines are just a little off. The badge being in the middle of the jersey gives it a retro feel too. Disclaimer: Gou and Itama wouldn’t attend the same college and Itama is about 3 years older than Gou. I also took other liberties as usual and this got a bit long winded on their start up lmao

Gou is going to a school of fashion. She’s always wanted to make a very inclusive cutesy brand for all~

Her mother isn’t thrilled with her choice in career, but she’s still helping her pay for her apartment rental as she did actually get several grants and a 50% scholarship

She works part-time at a cafe to help pay for her other needs/experiences, she’s got a current project that’s fighting her every step of the way, and she’s working an unpaid internship for a fussy boss in the industry

Has the cutest pet chinchilla named Beastie, has great friends like Lee and Fuu, she’s got cuties messaging her, her fussy instructor didn’t have anything negative to say for once about her work, her parents comes to visit every so often and bring gifts in the form of groceries/cook her a weeks worth of food she can just reheat, and her small social media account is finally getting some attention

Basically her life is a little hectic, but great~

That is until a fire breaks out in the apartment building she’s staying in one night. Her neighbors screaming about it, got her attention way from the show she was watching

She went to pick up Beastie who was roaming freely, but he was no where to be found and panic set in as she looked for him. She could not leave her son to possibly burn

When she finally does find him hiding in her bedroom, smoke is coming in from under her door and she’s FULL PANICKED

All she can do is move to her balcony and scream for the firefighters who are on scene by now

And THANKFULLY they spot her

Of course she’s crying over all of this, tears blurring her vision

So when a fire fighter finally reaches her on the ladder, all she hears is this really comforting voice encouraging her to get on the ladder carefully but quickly, he’ll hold the pet

He keeps saying things like “you’re going to be okay” and “you’re doing good, keep going”

Honestly she sort of wishes he’d stop as she’s really trying to make it down this ladder with her wobbly legs and the smoke is choking her up a bit 😭

By the time she gets to the bottom she’s just so grateful to have down/alive

And when she turns to her rescuer, it’s the sweetest looking man with gentle eyes and two toned hair, hold her Beastie carefully in his blanket.

It’s pretty much a blur at that point as he hands her pet back, giving her a weary look as the medical team rushes over to check on her

All very scary in hindsight and Gou camps out on Fuu’s couch for a few days as she takes time to grasp just what happened and what this all means; designs gone, computer gone, building uninhabitable, everything but her and Beastie

She got lectured by almost everyone about spending time searching for a pet verses getting out immediately

She’s just grateful there was no casualties and Fuu is helping her by letting her stay with him and his roommates. Who all pity her and love Beastie

Anyways back on track, she doesn’t stay there for long because she loves her privacy.

Thankfully, she’s able to rent a small from one of her mother’s friends for half price kills her soul a bit to have to ask her parents for more help

And after a few weeks, she picks up a few extra shifts at the cafe to try and keep herself a bit busy, willingly taking opening shifts and that when it happens

She hears the bell, turns around to greet the customer and it’s HIM

The cute firefighter that rescued her and has seen her looking a wreck in her comfy clothes, messy hair, snot and tears everywhere.

She greets him and he has the warmest smile and tells her his order in the same soothing she remembers.Literally, someone HELP

Now that she’s stealing glance at him, she can see that his hair isn’t dyed? It apparently grows like that as his eyebrows match his polar opposite hair colors on their respective sides

Their eyes meet. She looks down

“Hey, um— this might sound strange but, do you remember me?”

Gou takes what feels like forever to respond and Itama is feeling anxious

He’s honestly been worried about the grey eyed young woman and her chinchilla. She was trembling so badly and he couldn’t shake the image of her

Seeing her now she looks fine. More than fine, she’s actually really beautiful and now he’s regretting asking her that question so awkwardly

She smiles at him and tells him it’s on the house, her small thank you for rescuing her.

He’s hesitant to accept but she insist.

From there, they have small talk about how she’s been doing, how Beastie is, and she finds out his name is Itama and he remembered her name (which she doesn’t remember giving, she did)

He’s impressed she’s in school for fashion and empathetic about what she’s lost

She gives him her account name for her social media and tells him he can keep an eye out for Beastie as he’s often featured there

Itama lights up a bit when she tells him “see you around, hero”, half bumping the door frame

So he’s a little clumsy. Cuuuute 😊

Itama created his own account just to follow her that day

It’s not really his thing but he tells himself it will be good to support a future designer

But he’s not really prepared for how fun she is on her account. Sure there’s glamour shots but there’s also her doing cartwheels with her friends, her and Beastie wearing matching muumuus, and… KAWARAMA!?

He’s never called his little brother faster in his life to question if he knows Gou

And Kawarama’s like, Yes? She’s one of Okami’s friends and I model for her sometimes. How do you know her and why are you asking?

Itama tells him how he helped rescue her about a month ago, that he met her again at her job today, and saw him in a pink blouse on her page

Kawarama starts laughing and taunting that “someone’s gotta crush~”. It’s 7 am and you just met her TODAY, MADE AN ACCOUNT TODAY, scrolled her page for far enough to see THAT POST from months ago, AND you’re calling him about all this? Yeah he’s down bad

Can’t say he’s surprised? he’s probably pent up and Gou is usually dolled up, plus she pretty. He knows he likes those types from how hard he’d blush around them when they were kids and apparently his taste hasn’t changed at all 😂

Itama’s blushing as he hangs up mid laugh. Kawarama’s not entirely wrong but he’s not about to be mocked by his little brother (liberties✨)

Should’ve asked one of his brothers how the whole lurking thing works before he went ahead and liked all her post

She got a good laugh seeing a very familiar name all over her notifications and is honestly flattered extremely he’s a hottie, huge, likes fashion, and Beastie? 👀

They don’t have much contact over social media, but Itama makes a point of learning how to use his account, following his brothers, and sees that Tobirama has a fan page??

Things stay distant for awhile because Itama’s too nervous after he’s been informed that liking all her stuff may seem a bit weird to her

He’s been to that cafe plenty of times before ever meeting Gou, so he’s almost certain she doesn’t open regularly

But that doesn’t stop him from hoping she’s there again as she’s very easy to talk to and a bit unforgettable

Itama is sort of starts panicking now. Is this inappropriate? He doesn’t want her to think he’s a creepy stalker 💀

He ask Hashirama what he should do and is told to ask her out, the worst that can happen is she’ll say no. But if she says yes, good for him!

Itama’s not buying it. What if she yells at him? Or calls the cops because of him showing up at her shop after she shoots him down? He’s going to keep these feelings to himself 😞

Sure they text now, but he lets her contact him first as to not give away his interest

And he does for a few months, still stopping by the shop on his days off. Sometimes she’s there and they have small talk about this or that, but most days she’s not. His coworkers notice him checking his phone more often and how he’s been signing a bit more lately

He’s actually really happy his work keeps him busy so he doesn’t get much down time to keep checking to see if she’s contacted him that that

One day Gou text him if he likes fusion food and he’s responds quickly that he does (no he doesn’t need details/he’s not a picky eater). And just as quickly she responds asking when he’s free.

The tomorrow? Perfect. Dinner at her new place tomorrow as a ‘thank you’ and he’s welcome to bring a friend! She gives her address and told to come around 6 tomorrow with an appetite

Itama shows up on time nervous and not knowing what to expect but if there’s one thing working with Genma at the fire station has taught him is bring protection

He’s put at ease a little when she opens the door, greeting him fully dressed definitely not matching Genma’s story

Gou tells him make himself at home while she finish up with the food and he can play with Beastie too if he wants. His home is in the corner near the couch

First thing he notices is how everything is bright colored and as whimsical as she is. Second thing he notices is the “spinning” pole. luckily Beastie starts rattling his house so that makes him refocus on the cute animal verses where his thoughts went 😅

Gou is barely containing herself. A cute guy, no, ITAMA ALONE, in her apartment!? Calm down, woman. But he looks so cute sitting there all nervous and getting swatted by her sassy baby

Dinner is amazing, which Gou’s very proud of not burning anything but she cockily tells him he’s lucky because, although she’s a good cook, she doesn’t often do it.

This is a very special thank you, just for him. So don’t go around telling people she can cook no really, don’t. her parents won’t make her food anymore if they knew

They’re both a little buzzed and decide to watch a movie because neither of them wanted to end the evening just yet

They pick a “feel good” movie because Gou thinks it’s a safe bet. It wasn’t. They both end up crying a little bit because of the plot

Then looking at each other and laughing a bit because neither one of them expected the other to be crying too

Itama tries to apologize for it or but Gou insists it’s not a big deal, she cries all the time. Plus he’s seen her ugly crying face twice now, so she should be the one apologizing

“even when you’re crying, you’re beautiful” slips out of his mouth

It’s at that moment Gou leans her head on his shoulder and tells him ‘thank you’ and that she thinks he’s beautiful too. Both inside and out.

And that’s the final push for Itama, he tells her how much he’s happy to have met her (sorry about how it happened?? But yeah) and how he finds himself becoming more and more curious about her the more time goes by

Gou: as a friend?

Itama: no, in a romantic way

Too stunned to speak when she cups his face and smooches him good but definitely returns the kiss

After that, they become a couple

You know those couples that coordinate their outfits? That’s them.

Also the “no, you hang up” couple. Genma has indeed hung up the phone for Itama at the firehouse after 3 minutes of them doing this.

Gou actually enjoys cooking and surprising him with meals because he looks so happy whenever she does

Itama is really supportive of her dreams and likes shopping with her for materials and helps her set up the studio

They get matching tiny heart tattoos

Itama likes kissing her forehead and tip of her nose

Gou likes kissing the back of his hand and cheek

Lee and Fuu have heard how amazing Gou’s new bf is and feel like they already know him by the time they meet

Her parents LOVE him and Gou gets along with 2 out of 3 of his brothers

They both get really attached very quickly in relationships and it’s a bit worrisome to their friends and family but both sides can agree that their loved one is safe with one another

I’m truly so devastated that Viv isn’t in the finale. I think it’s bullshit on the judges’ part to send her home when this was her first time in the bottom two & they had consistently had the same critiques week after week for Kimmy combined with the fact that Kimmy made a worse look than Viv. And yes Kimmy is a great dancer, but Viv gave a great performance in that lip sync — certainly well enough that they could have decided to save her

I don’t necessarily think it’s fair to critique a contestant’s runway looks that aren’t a design challenge expecting them to fix that when they’ve already put together their package & brought it with them. But it was weeks of hearing that with Kimmy, but then one week they critique Viv’s runway walk & poof gone
