Does anyone know what’s going on with ‘the girls I’ve been’ movie adaptation?
I swear all news just stopped & I can’t find anything from later than 2021😭
Have they even started filming?
All ik is that Millie Bobby Brown is playing Nora & that it’s “predicted to come out some time in 2023” wich, if you havnt noticed has been and gone already…

BEST READS OF 2023
Hey guys! Here’s my top reads this year. I finished 10 books out of 20, which I’ll take proudly. Most of the year was spent stressing and writing lol.
The only book not pictured is Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa (I listened to the audio book).
Also, does anyone else notice the colour scheme here? A lot of reds and purples. I’m loving the random colour coordination lol.
I hope you all had a great reading year and gained new favourites. I know I have. Let me know what you enjoyed!
Here’s to a year filled with more great and exciting reads! ❤️

for the uh. ask thing! top 5 books ^^
The Simon Snow Series by Rainbow Rowell - Of course this is my number one. Current obsession ❤️❤️ It’s honestly such a slay series omg my absolute favorite right now.
Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune - Actually took me out. Obsessed with this book beyond all reason. It’s a love letter to grief and what comes after death and the uncertainty of life; with an extra little love story thrown in ❤️ This was such a beautiful read and it honestly made me cry and laugh and UGH I love it!
Rules For Stealing Stars by Corey Ann Haydu - Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! A story to family, abuse, hiding, and learning how to not just survive, but to thrive. My favorite part of this book was the magic and the scenery. I would definitely recommend this!
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas - FUCKING BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️ A well-written story about a trans boy trying to prove himself to his traditional Latinx family with a dash of deathly romance thrown in 😌 Absolutely GORGEOUS! I loved the vibes of this book. A perfect October read 😍
The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe - Wow. Just wow. The mystery, suspense, and overall adrenaline of this story was INTENSE and refreshing and all the right things. In this story you learn of a girl named Nora who isn’t who she seems, her not so secret girlfriend, their best friend, and two bank robbers dead set on keeping them hostage. I could go on and on about this book and it’s brilliant storytelling, but I think it’s best for you to just experience it for yourself.

Book 8 of 2022!
The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nora has been a lot of girls. The daughter of a con artist who targets criminal men, Nora finally managed to pull the ultimate con: escape. For five years Nora has managed to dust off her skills due to her current problems; her ex walked in on her and her current girlfriend; the morning after, they all have to meet at the bank to drop off the fundraiser money, a nightmare that goes from awkward to deadly, because; right after they enter the bank, two guys start robbing it. The robbers have no idea who they’re really holding hostage.
Content Warnings: child abuse, domestic abuse, emotional abuse, sexual assault, gun violence, pedophilia, abortion
What Did I Think?
I loved the writing style, it was really fun and action packed. I read this pretty quickly, it was just so gripping and page turning. I know it had some flaws like I know that’s not really how banks work and how Nora spoke a lot about how she’s bad but a lot of the time the trauma got there before she could really show any of that, but I didn’t even mind them too much. I also really like the way trauma was represented throughout the book, it made me feel like the author has personal experience with parental trauma. I recommend it and I’m also so excited to see this become a movie with Millie Bobby Brown!
Prompts:
Fits Popsugar’s prompt of “A Book Becoming a Film or TV Series in 2022” (although that is not true anymore like originally thought)
For the 52 Book Club’s challenge, I went with “Recommended by a Favourite Author”

Finally finished The Girls I’ve been by Tess Sharpe. I love the book so much. The found family. Heists. Con artists. An instant 5-star read!
But damn, no one told me how heartbreaking the book is! What Wes, Iris and Nora went through is so deep. I didn’t think I’d relate to Nora on a personal level but I did. I really appreciate how well the author represented victims of abuse and their thought process 🥲

she’s an angel. she’s clean and she smells good. she always dresses cute and her lips r always glossy. she radiates angelic energy and attracts only lovely things. she has long, pampering morning and night routines. she works out everyday, eats healthy, and always makes sure she gets enough sleep. she does her skincare every morning and night. she’s sweet and charming and shows respect to everyone, while at the same time only allowing a sacred few to bask in her heavenly vibes. she is witty and intellectual, and always learning. she sees the good in everything. she stands up for what she believes in. her number one goal is to become the best version of herself. and of course, she knows that she is destined for happiness and success. ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚

no matter WHAT happens in s3, the kiss has altered their relationship moving forward in every conceivable way. the bookshop is not JUST the bookshop anymore. any piece of dialogue means something so so different. sparks when their hands brush as they walk together. EVERYTHING is going to be drenched in innuendo and secret double meanings BECAUSE of it. like the memory of the kiss is going to haunt every single fucking thing they say and do together like a poltergeist only gay sex can exorcize
