Roger Peyrefitte - The Keys of St. Peter - Panther - 1969
I've not read this book, but intrigued by the cover of this edition and the 1972 one, wondered who Peyrefitte was. A hack writer of dubious potboilers? Some great French author I should know all about and could quote at dinner parties I never get invited to?
Peyrefitte was "a French diplomat, writer of bestseller novels and non-fiction, and a defender of gay rights and pederasty" (says his Wikipedia entry) and one obituary described him as "charismatic to the point of absurdity"
The author was dubbed 'the pope of homosexuals' (he routinely outted Popes, current and previous, plus notable French cultural figures) and wrote scandalous often inflammatory historical books that attacked Catholicism (the Vatican were not fans, at least not in public) and other cultural, historical big ticket items (biographies of Alexander the Great and Voltaire, for example)
He delighted in gossip and gossiping, often fell foul of the police for pursuing teenage boys, was both a libertine and conservative bourgeois and in the final years of his life was a fervent supporter of Le Pen (Jean-Marie)
In the 1960s Peyrefitte met a young actor in the cast of a film adaptation of one his works, they fell in a love and pursued a relationship. The actor was 12 years old when they met. From age 16, that actor, Alain-Philippe Malagnac d'Argens de Villèle, became Peyrefitte's private secretary and then as a young man was adopted by Peyrefitte
Subsequently, Peyrefitte bankrolled many of Malagnac's ultra mod business ventures including opening nightclubs and briefly and very unsuccessfully managing pop singer Sylvie Vartan
Malagnac would later go on to marry singer, songwriter, painter, television presenter, actress, and former model, Amanda Lear. They were happily* married for 21 years until his death
On his death bed in 2000 Peyrefitte converted back to Catholicism, he died at 93, presumably with a flourish. Six weeks later Malagnac would die of smoke inhalation at a fire at his home
*I presume but have no reason to doubt

The Mass for the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate will be celebrated on Sunday, May 18, at 10 a.m. Rome time in St. Peter’s Square.
The liturgy will mark the official beginning of his ministry as successor of Peter and bishop of Rome.
The ceremony includes the presentation of two important symbols: the Pallium and the Fisherman's Ring.
The ring represents Peter's faith and his role as a "fisher of men," recalling the Biblical story where Peter, trusting Jesus, experienced a miraculous catch of fish.

Perugino (Italian, ca.1450-1523) Delivery of the keys to Petrus, ca.1481-82 Vatican, Sistine Chapel, North wall
In the Gospel of Matthew 16:19, Jesus says to Peter, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

This is common knowledge for anyone on the r/demonolatrypractices subreddit but I realized that a lot of you aren’t on there and are missing out on some great resources, so if you’re looking for reading material on demonology and demonolatry definitely check out the website below.
These basic resources come straight from Demonology the subreddit. I did not compile any of this, I’m just sharing for the folks on Tumblr. (Honestly even if you aren’t fond of that sub you should definitely take advantage of their deep dives by experienced practitioners, it really is a great resource):
Some book recommendations
Essential Background:
*On the Hieratic Art* by Proclus
*The Testament of Solomon*
*The Picatrix*
*Three Books of Occult Philosophy* by Agrippa
*The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy* by Pseudo-Agrippa
Classic Grimoires:
*The Sworn Book of Honorius (Liber Juratus)*
*The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage*
*The Heptameron* by Pietro d'Abano
*The Greater Key of Solomon*
*The Lesser Key of Solomon (Lemegeton)*
*Grimorium Verum*
For Spiritual/Theological Grounding:
*Timaeus* by Plato
*Parmenides* by Plato
*Chaldean Oracles*
*The Corpus Hermeticum*
*On the Mysteries (De Mysteriis)* by Iamblichus
*Psychic Self-Defense* by Dion Fortune
*Initiation Into Hermetics* by Franz Bardon
Good Contemporary Books:
*Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires* by Aaron Leitch
*Pandemonium* by Jake Stratton-Kent
*Stellas Daemonum* by David Crowhurst
About Lilith:
The Mighty Book List:
Introductory guides (the books that have their own systems of working with spirits included in them, therefore you can try working with spirits if you have any one of these books):
"The Complete Book of Demonolatry" by S. Connolly, (I consider this to be essential)
"Lucifer and The Hidden Demons: A Practical Grimoire from The Order of Unveiled Faces" by Theodore Rose,
"Demons of Magick: Three Practical Rituals for Working with The 72 Demons" by Gordon Winterfield
"Consorting with Spirits: Your Guide to Working with Invisible Allies" by Jason Miller.
Each one of these books will have wildly different approaches. Try them, see what works for you and what doesn't.
Classic grimoires (these are good to read through to see the working with demons through a historical lens. Some people still use methods in these books, most new books will at the very least borrow elements, such as names, sigils and correspondences):
"The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage" (Dehn ed. is recommended)
"The Greater Key of Solomon",
"The Lesser Key of Solomon" aka Lemegeton (Peterson ed. is best, Mathers/Crowley is its own thing worth reading but incomplete),
"Pseudomonarchia Daemonum" (repeats a lot of information that Lesser Key has, but is older, so worth a read if you're into history of occult),
"Grimorium Verum" (Peterson ed. or JSK's "True Grimoire"),
"The Grand Grimoire" (aka Red Dragon)
"The Grimoire of St. Cyprian",
" The Goetia of Dr. Rudd".
Books that are good to read for general occult/ magick background:
"The Egyptian Book of the Dead",
"Chaldean Oracles",
"On the Mysteries" by Iamblichus,
"The Greek Magical Papyri",
"The Testament of Solomon",
"The Picatrix",
"Three Books of Occult Philosophy" by Agrippa,
"The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy" by Pseudo-Agrippa,
"Transcendental Magic" by Eliphas Levi,
"Psychic Self-Defense" by Dion Fortune,
"Initiation into Hermetics" by Franz Bardon,
"The Golden Dawn" by Regardie/Greer,
"Chicken Qabalah" by Lon Milo Duquette,
"Liber Null and Psychonaut" by Peter J. Carroll.
Contemporary reference books (dictionaries, history books on a spirit and other similar compilations):
"The Dictionary of Demons: Expanded and Revised: Names of the Damned" by Michelle Belanger,
"Book of the Fallen: Satanic Theory, Ethics, and Practice" by Martin McGreggor,
"Lucifer: Princeps" by Peter Grey,
"Rites of Lucifer" by Asenath Mason,
"The Goetia Devils" by Rev. Cain,
"Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires: The Classical Texts of Magick Deciphered" by Aaron Leitch,
"Pandemonium: A Discordant Concordance of Diverse Spirit Catalogues" by Jake Stratton-Kent.
"Stellas Daemonum" by David Crowhurst,
"Demonolator's Handbook" by Mirta Wake.
Books to do with evocation (make sure you know the difference between evoking and invoking), qliphoth, and other intermediate practices:
"The Practice of Magical Evocation" by Franz Bardon,
"Qabalah, Qliphoth, and Goetic Magic" by Thomas Karlsson
"Goetic Evocation" by Steve Savedow,
"Lake of Fire" by S. Connolly,
"Tree of Qliphoth" by Asenath Mason

The Mummy (M) 28K (12/?) by killmesoftly_s
Inspired by my all time favorite movie, The Mummy (1999) When Scott, -Stiles’ step brother and best friend-brings him a key found within a Pharohs crypt depicting the curse of the infamous city; Hamunaptra, a trip is set. It’s in Cairo that the rugged and frustratingly handsome Derek Hale, who is the only living man to know how to find the city of the dead, promises to take him. Death is only the beginning and Stiles is ready for his adventure, stupid hunters and curses be damned. Rated mature for one detailed sex scene.
Autumn comes when you're not yet done (NR) 5.6K (1/1) by Lord_potato
The wolf (Canis lupus) is a mammal of the canine family. Biologically speaking, it is the same species as the domestic dog. The wolf is the largest canine living in the wild. Out of all the northern predators, the wolf is the most social species that prefers to live in packs formed by family units. extract: Werewolves. Fucking werewolves. His son had been hanging out with werewolves and had been fighting werewolves and had been lying about it all to him for longer than he realised. or the fic where Noah Stilinski finds out about werewolves and slowly gets used to being part of the pack.
Matryoshka(s) (E) 23K (5/5) by Gege_from_the_void_89
Stiles becomes known as Koschei when his father gets killed by a woman going by the nickname of Babayaga, and when the boy starts to plan how to avenge his father, the Russian mafia gets brought in sooner than later, till all his plan comes down to one single person he has to charm: Derek Hale. Will Stiles be able to get revenge for his father? Will he be able to handle something that wasn’t part of the plan?
Twilight (E) 67K (2/2) by Hedwig221b
Derek. Stiles thought about him the most. Something told him that it wasn’t the last time, far from it. He thought about his softness and his open desire to kill. Stiles’ hands remembered the heat of his hands. His neck longed to feel the coating warmth of Derek’s breath. His lips burned from the kiss that never happened. Everything was so fucking complicated. Except one thing. It was the only clear thought in his head. The one that made his stomach clench from fear, his heart stutter from hope, and his lips stretch in a smile. He was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with Derek.
We Ain’t Angry At You, Love. You’re The Greatest Thing We’ve Lost. (NR) 33K (9/12) by Christell_Nobody
Since Void, so much has happened. His dad is still just as neglectful, and now all his friends just stopped all contact. Derek and Peter left. If it wasn’t for Melissa and Jordan he’d be drowning and probably dead. After his 16th birthday he makes a decision, Melissa and Jordan help him and are supportive, a bit heartbroken but understanding. Noah doesn’t even care what he’s signing. Doesn’t care he signed his parental rights away, but was he ever a parent? With promises to keep contact, he is off. “So pack up your car, put a hand on your heart.”
Yes To Heaven (E) 85K (2/2) by Hedwig221b
Stiles ruined him. The damage was irreparable. He didn’t want the food that wasn’t made by Stiles or shared with him; the water tasted stale; the clothes were asphyxiating and scratchy; the air was wrong, wrong without Stiles’ scent in it. Fuck, what was wrong with him? How could that pretty little thing change him so much? He had an iron grip on his control before, being in tandem with his instincts, but within weeks, all of it was gone. As soon as he thought of Stiles, though, of his scent, his moans, and the little wrinkle on his forehead as he orgasmed, his mind settled. What was life before Stiles? Everything was somewhere far, far away, forgotten, bleak, and meaningless. Derek thought he knew what light was as he looked at the microscopic dots of the stars above. Then Stiles came into his life and showed him the sun.

Key points:
Blue text means it's a short story or a novel
The bat 🦇 means Konrad is present
The knife 🔪 means Sevatar is present
Many of these cover a vast timeline: I've put them in this order based on the narrator (example: Vulkan speaking about Nostramo just before Istvaan) or the first chapter (Child of Night starts immediately after Nikaea but ends during the HH)
I ignored books where they appear for 1 line only and do nothing important. I also ignored "Lion: son of the Forest" because that thing is actually a warp-thing and not the real Konny.

“In 1958 Liverpool, Paul McCartney and George Harrison were captured alongside their close friend Ivan Vaughan, a figure instrumental in shaping rock history. Ivan, born in 1942, shared a unique bond with Paul—they were born on the same day, attended the Liverpool Institute, and often exchanged their love for music. On July 6, 1957, Ivan famously introduced 15-year-old Paul to 16-year-old John Lennon at St. Peter’s Church in Woolton, where John’s skiffle band, The Quarrymen, was performing. Paul impressed John with his ability to tune a guitar and play Eddie Cochran’s Twenty Flight Rock, leading to his invitation to join the group—a moment that set the foundation for The Beatles.
By 1958, Paul had become a key member of The Quarrymen, and he introduced his school friend George Harrison, a 14-year-old guitar prodigy, to the band. George auditioned for John on the top deck of a bus and, despite initial hesitations about his age, was soon welcomed into the group. Meanwhile, Ivan pursued academics, studying classics at University College London. Though he didn’t join The Beatles, he remained a lifelong friend, offering creative inspiration—including co-writing the surreal Yellow Submarine phrase “Sky of blue, sea of green” with Paul. Ivan’s role in shaping The Beatles' origins was pivotal, as without his introduction, history may have unfolded differently.
As The Beatles rose to fame, Ivan ventured into education, later working with autistic children, while maintaining friendships with Paul and George. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the 1980s, he passed away in 1993, leaving behind an unsung legacy in music history. His introduction of Paul to John forged one of the most iconic songwriting duos, proving that a single meeting in a Liverpool churchyard could spark a revolution that would change music forever.”

Aisle - Abel HH
Tumblr media
I honestly didn't want to post cause of "the events" but maybe it'll inspire someone else out there to start posting again. Can't have the fandom dying when season 2 isn't even out yet.
Enjoy
cw: nothing crazy
Tumblr media
I remember the first time I met you.
You were the one who greeted me when I arrived. Excitedly picking out my robes and pulling me all over the place and showing me around.
You left me with Emily, another seraph but promised to hang out soon once you were done with work.
St. Peter and Emily were so fun to hang out with but sometimes I can’t help but think of you.
The heavy church doors opened and there you are. Glowing in heaven’s light like you were made of stardust. Just seeing you walking down the aisle takes my breath away. You look so beautiful in your dress.
I could feel my eyes watering just seeing you walk towards me; our eyes meeting.
I don’t remember when I fell for you. It just happened. I guess that’s how love works.
Do you remember when I had my first assignment? You helped me navigate through my first job as a guardian angel working with the cherubim. Makes sense considering I used to work with sheep.
The irony wasn’t lost on you and you laughed so sweetly at my expense as you held my hand to introduce me to the three cherubs.
Though that Cletus fellow seemed a little wary of me.
You’re getting closer now. Your veil blowing in the breeze. Everyone was standing in the pews looking at you. There wasn’t a dry eye in the stands. How could they not? You’re radiant.
We talk and share stories even when your desk were full of reports that needed looking over. You worked for my dad, Sera thinking that he’ll get in line with you around. Unfortunately, you tend to be busy with whatever he had ordered you to do.
You never seemed to mind that I hang out when you have paperwork, saying that you enjoy the company sometimes.
I taught you how to play some instruments too. The bells were my specialty but with infinite time in heaven I did learn some others too like the drums, much to my father’s chagrin, and the piano.
Hearing you hum as you practice the keys relaxes me. I kinda miss those days.
St. Peter started sobbing to my right when you got next to me. You and I laughed softly at our friend as Emily handed St. Peter a handkerchief.
You’re looked so… happy, eyes wet with unshed tears and your cheeks a ruddy pink.
Abel smiled down at you, “Hi”
You giggled a bit, smiling “Hi…thank you…Abel”
“Don’t worry about it”
Abel felt a tear run down his cheek as he watched you walk past him to the altar.
His eyes were filling up with more tears as he stood by as your best man, hearing his father’s vows that even moved the ever-cold lieutenant at his side.
No one thought that the first man would change for someone and yet here he was, marrying you and promising to make you the happiest angel in heaven.
Abel couldn’t remember the first time he fell in love with you. That’s just how love works.
He just couldn’t remember it hurting this badly.

Thomas Lawrence welcoming Sister Agnes to the Gates of St. Peter in Heaven
Sister Agnes: Cardinal Lawrence! So our Lord assigned you to the Gates of Heaven?
Thomas Lawrence: My dear Sister Agnes! It's wonderful to see that you lived such a long life! I was waiting for you and glad I waited long. I'm so blessed our Lord gave me this shift so I can meet you here. Here, let me let you in. (Searches his pockets) Oh um.... Uhhhhhhh.
Sister Agnes tapping her foot.
Thomas Lawrence: Hehehehe. (Sweating nervously)... Uh.
Sister Agnes: Oh, so you couldn't take care of the keys of St. Peter after all. I should have known after you forgot your room key all those years ago.
Thomas Lawrence: AH-HAH! (Pulls out keys) It was a joke! Got you there!
Sister Agnes: Very funny, Cardinal Lawrence. (Trying not to crack a smile)
Bonus:
Vincent Benitez arrive to the Gates of St. Peter years later.
Thomas Lawrence: (Blushing) V-v-vincent? I mean, Pope Innocent!
Vincent Benitez: Tomás! I'm so happy to see you, not that I didn't have faith I would see you again!
Thomas Lawrence: (Blushing) Here, let me get my keys and let you in. (Searches pockets, starts sweating)
Vincent Benitez: Oh Tomás, what is the matter?
Thomas Lawrence: (Blushing) I-I, can't find my keys. I'm so sorry. I guess we have to wait for someone to let us in.
Vincent Benitez: It's all right, Tomás. Even in Heaven, we are human. If anything, this is a blessing. I'm happy being around you just a while longer outside the gates of Heavens. It's matters to me just to be around you.
Thomas Lawrence: (Blushing)
(From the distance, Sister Agnes smirking while she pats the keys of Saint Peters in her pocket, the keys she stole from Lawrence.)
