One of my first digital pieces (2010) versus one of my recent ones (2024)
We all start somewhere!
#picked these cause they're in a similar pose lol. i mean not at all. but sort of... more than my other art at least...#oh fuck im so tired im saving this to drafts and coming back later#my anxiety meds wipe me the fuck out so im trying not to take them in the day#and they're like legit borderline a sleeping med for me. i take one and in 30 mins im OUT.#so I'm. i mean i was already only taking 1-2 in the day and then 2-3 at night#anyways it makes me sad when people say they dont have an artistic bone in their body#and especially when they say they could never draw like me :(#dont put yourself down to lift me up! i don't want my art to be used for you to be mean to yourself!!!#lots of experiences of people comparing themselves to me and being mean to themself...#feels bad. it's okay if you're slow it's okay to be learning it's okay!!!#I'm me and you're you and we're here to learn from each other. i just wanna hang out..#y'know what I'm just gonna post without saying anything i WILL forget I made a draft#i have so many things i intend to post and then forget#it's a wonder I post anything#i only do it when i get bored. and run out of stuff to scroll through#like whelp. guess if i want a post I have to make one myself.#also the second one is really good idc that it's a study i still drew it#art growth#this was in 2010 btw#i started highschool in 2011#I've grown a lot and you can too.#also I've never really been one to dislike my old art. like idk I was trying... if it's bad I just won't look at it whatever#like i wouldn't be mean to someone else who made that so i don't get a free pass to be mean just cause it's to me#man my thoughts are bungled. okay sleep time#if my phone made typos you didn't see it

I hate Damian's new longer hair and sidebang look because I really do feel like, for the first time, DC is really trying to homogenize him into "Robin."
Like not only do they not give him a distinguishably darker skin tone 9.9 times out of 10, but now they are literally giving him the default Robin™️ hairstyle as well as a much more laid back personality and more Soft Boy™️ traits that feel straight out of a x Wattpad reader fic from 2015.
Y'all can say he's "developing as a character" or "growing up" all you want, but what I see is DC forcing him to fit in a box he never belonged in in the first place, and as someone who's been following his journey since 2009, I don't want Damian to be Robin if Dick isn't his Batman. He didn't want to be Robin if Dick wasn't his Batman. He was never supposed to be Robin without Dick as his Batman.
Literally and figuratively.
Lazarus Island was finally a step forward towards Damian developing into his own, and then Batman & Robin took him five steps back. He is regressing before my eyes into the same indistinguishable bird blob as the rest of them that in 10 years people are going to post pics of this era more than any prior and be like "is this dick damian jason or tim???" and it's so dissappointing.
I just want him to be his own character without the weight of the legacy of the mantle that comes with being specifically at Bruce's side. Give it to a character who already fits the archetype without having to change themselves to...like Maps Mizoguchi. TY and gobbless. 🙏
#dc comics#damian wayne#robin#batman#batfamily#fully expect this post to flop or get hate or simply be ignored#but like I am so sad to see what has happened since robin ended#I never expected to like the new Batman and Robin because the 2011 version is one of my most hated comics of all time#but it's turning into a quick new second for me because oh my god who is this person its not Damian#get him away from bruce pleaseeeee#like not even from a character standpoint that's not what I'm trying to say even though I don't like it#i'm literally talking about it from a meta-perspective#there's a certain territory that comes with being at Bruce's side#and it's going to change whoever is there#that's why I think we need Maps as Robin#because she actually fits into the archetype without being forced to#please dc do something right for once ugh

The scrapped Avengers 5 script that was cowritten by Waldron was seemingly posted online and he was not done ruining Loki (at least the show version). Not sure if it's actually the real script or a hoax, but I still wanted to inform people about it, because it's bad. The entire thing is a mess. It's basically a copy of Infinity War as in the main villains (several versions of Kang) need the plotdevices to do catastrophic damage and basically everybody dies. Really, almost everybody gets killed off. He also involves almost every character that's currently alive in the MCU in this script, so they each barely get any screentime and no personality whatsoever. I haven't actually read the thing so I can't say how much time he had to ruin the characters, but it's Waldron so I'm assuming he still managed to do that somehow.
As for what he did to Loki specifically, apparently one of the Kangs drains him of his powers and presumably killed him (again). This is going to disappoint a lot of people who, despite the ways Loki as a character has been ruined by the show, still hoped that the ending would lead to them doing something cool with his new position and powers and/or would lead to him reuniting with Thor. Neither of this happens and I think even the show fans would be disappointed by them ruining the so-called "perfect ending to his character arc." Guess it was just a new way to kill him off and rub it in our faces after all. It's Infinity War all over again. He would've gotten ruined for nothing.
So glad this script got scrapped, even though I have zero faith in the Russo's considering they were the ones who thought of IW in the first place. I do think they will do somewhat better than Waldron since they can at least do action scenes. Even so, this is another warning not to get your hopes up that the MCU will not ruin Loki in some way or another in the upcoming movies.
#loki#loki deserves better#anti loki show#anti michael waldron#mcu salt#anti michael waldron's avengers 5 script#mcu don't ruin loki for one second challenge#thanks I hate it#I'll gladly stick with the 2011-2013 era movies thank you#at least they can never take those away from us

not to be true crime posting on main but i think i'm falling down the wm3 rabbit hole again
#xenia.txt#when i tell you this case keeps me up at night to this day#not even the murders themselves as much as the general public's reception to and opinions on the case 3 decades later like#i get why it;s always been so divisive especially after the pl docus came out (lots of opinions on those btw none of them are good#from the bottom of my heart fuck you joe berlinger and bruce sinofsky)#but it's truly baffling how no one is willing to do the research on what is arguably THE most well documented true crime case in recent#history like. everything that's ever been released to the general public is available online and i mean everything#you can find all the court files trial transcripts depositions interogation tapes aerial photos you name it it's out there for anyone with#internet connection to access at any and all hours of the day#and yet people are still foaming at the mouth fighting on reddit abt their innocence based off nothing but a couple of movies like#bffr with me right now!! almost every point the innocenters make can be easily debunked by scrolling through callahan for 15 minutes#'but they've been pushing for dna testing since their release so they can't be guilty' baby the case is closed!#it's been closed the second they took the plea. they can be striking under that courthouse and it still won't change a thing and they knowi#that's why they're pushing for it in the first place but that's just my opinion#^ and i say they but it's really only echols which makes a lot of sense to me personally#and if you want to talk abt dna testing let's talk abt the one that was done in 2011 and how the defense hurried to propose the plea as soo#as they got the results! let's talk abt those cause no one's ever seen them and i would very much like to#braga share the results the people want to know!!#makes me wonder which pieces of evidence they even submitted for that 2011 testing because if i'm remembering correctly#there was one that would've closed this case instantly and maybe that's why the results were never disclosed and the plea was rushed#but that's also just my opinion#and it's also interesting how the majority of people who have in fact deep dived into this case#(and i'm not talking abt big true crime youtubers as i'm very sceptical abt their research abilities)#all collectively lean towards guilty. much to think about#i was hoping someone would make another ~actually~ unbiased documentary for the 30th anniversary and go over all the case files#but i don't think that's even realistic at this point seeing as everyone and their mother has some sort of an opinion on this case#hbo deserves another lawsuit for this. they should've never won the first one in the first place#true crime tw

killer7 did something to my brain. you guys ever think of hand in killer7? i have so many thoughts, so many questions. forefront of my mind rn is what was kun lan’s taxi driver career in japan like.
#i have big contemplations like was emir around during the 90s when the rest of the smiths were being revived#CAUSE TAHTS WHEN THE PIGEON LETTERS AND HOLBERTS DEATH BY EMIR TOOK PLACE.#also not to mention mills saying 30 years ago you and harman-#whatever happened back then is not touched on in the game rather to show what happened at the union hotel#while its still very important to SOMETHING it seems. like mills was killed before he could tell garcian important#also what revamps the smith syndicate? the ones in killer7 are the second and that 1990 to 2000 gap still didnt turn them into a new one#while they turned into the 3rd smith syndicate after their deaths in 2011 from the big coburn fight#NOT TO MENTION THEY REFORMED IN 2053. THATS FORTYISH YEARS.#also the personae are assumed to still be around because in 2170 mask is still around with the 5th smith syndicate#maybe the coburn fight was an even more intense weakening than the 1990 fight and took a while for the smiths to reemerge?#also what ended the 3rd and 4th syndicates? who knows. whats garcians identity throughout these ones?#I HAVE SO MANY CONTEMPLATIONS. also taxicab driver kun lan.#i speak#killer7#kill the past

s/b: i don't like that thor features a love story
me: well let me tell you about how mcu!thor's core trait is his love and that includes love for his people, love for his homeland/home planet, love for his family and his brother in particular, love for the nine realms and earth in particular, and how that all boils down into love for jane— who's the most human of humans to him; who taught him how to be human too — so of course in the film where we're introduced to the mcu depiction of thor, his story is quintessentially a love story in both hope (jane) and tragedy (loki) and how those two things constantly conflict and contradict one another, and leave thor stranded in the middle because he loves both so dearly; patrick doyle crafted a beautiful OST featuring STRINGS and PIANO instead of just drums and horns because thor is strong and heroic, yes, he is, in fact, a hero but he's a beautiful hero because of his love because he is SOFT and it's reflected in the strings in both of his themes and—
#don't even get me started on how the avengers continues this particular theme so well#god the shot when loki has flung him from the ship and he moves to pick up the hammer and hesitates#y'all they intercut dialogue that someone speaks to banner overtop thor at that exact second#AND YOU KNOW WHAT IT SAID? “you fell from the sky”#he knew dang well he was worthy he /just/ used the hammer to get out of the hulk drop but he was thinking of loki#//who let go ... who was presumed dead for a year//#who .... //fell from the sky//#don't even get me EXTRA started on tdw and how it just keeps this train rolling lord the music of thor's 2 themes in that one too i just#lose my marbles every time gang i wish i had more technical terms and fancy composer lingo to explain this#alas all i have is a lifetime of choir classes and HS band + orchestra#which means that i know what i /feel/ but i can't explain it too good BUT HEAR ME OUT I'M TELLING YOU#his themes in TDW and 2011 both spell out /love/ what makes him a hero is his love !! he's love !!#&&. whispers#&&. meta#&&. | marvel. |#&&. thor.#so anyways guess who's listening to earth to asgard + sons of odin again and crying

Btw Inkling is a fantastic word. It sounds fun and it's meaning and use is solid.
I have too many words I'm found of, in English and Italian to have a genuine ranking. But if I did, this would probably be in the top 100.
Ink-one of my favorite sound combos. (And mediums to work in although the medium shares zero etmology with this work. Their only relation being sound and spelling) and the sound Cling. I know it's uncommon to have favorite phonemes/syllable combos, but this one combo is just so fun on the tongue. It brings me joy. Inkling.
#I am OP#Lingusitics#American English#Favorite Words#Inkling#word nerd#Thank you Middle English#Webster Dictionary is my favorite dictionary#Oxford is okay but is great at linking the influence of other languages to common idioms etc#It is unfortunately not the dictionary of my people's language so it's spellings and definitions do not match the use of my people#(But it is nice to reference when I think I notice speakers of U.K. English slipping in Americanisms and want to check if my guess#is correct.) So I do reference both quite often.#Also the Merrian-Webster dictionary App has been steller always. A version of it has been on every phone I've had since I had one that#could download apps. If you're learning English or a word nerd into English highly recommend#They're one of the first who added recordings of either robots or people saying the words.#(Online on English as a Language reference sites on the web.)#I might end up buying another dictionary... the question is should I shoot for Older or Newer than what I have?)#[The newest one I have is 2011-ish. Oldest is 1978-ish.] I might just go the nearest source of Used Books and let the shelves decide#I really miss the awesome used book store nesr my former workplace#They would bug you once to see if you needed help to find the section you'd like to browse then leave you for potentially hours#And always at the counter ready for you to make a purchase (after they put down their book they were reading of course.)#Literally the second best thing to a library. And honestly because they didn't cull the books as often. Slightly more fun to browse.#I should check if they survived covid but switched up locations.#(I moved away from them 12 years ago and since moving back to my hometown I haven't been and honestly given their landlord and construction#projects over the years there isn't a chance in hell if I visit where they used to be they're still there.)#I remember having a large variety of dictionaries in their language section. It'd also be cool to see if they happen to have complete set#of Encyclopedias. Definitely have been in my long term forever home posession plans since learning of them#and with how difficult it is to find properly sourced information on the Web (again now worse than the web of the 1990s before most knew of#search engines. Way more utility then the joy of just consuming them.)#Also Visual Encyclopedias are the bomb and were one of the best consistent jobs of technical-ish illustrators for a time.)

"The first modern attempt at transferring a uterus from one human to another occurred at the turn of the millennium. But surgeons had to remove the organ, which had become necrotic, 99 days later. The first successful transplant was performed in 2011 — but even then, the recipient wasn’t immediately able to get pregnant and deliver a baby. It took three more years for the first person in the world with a transplanted uterus to give birth.
More than 70 such babies have been born globally in the decade since. “It’s a complete new world,” said Giuliano Testa, chief of abdominal transplant at Baylor University Medical Center.
Almost a third of those babies — 22 and counting — have been born in Dallas at Baylor. On Thursday, Testa and his team published a major cohort study in JAMA analyzing the results from the program’s first 20 patients. All women were of reproductive age and had no uterus (most having been born without one), but had at least one functioning ovary. Most of the uteri came from living donors, but two came from deceased donors.
Fourteen women had successful transplants, all of whom were able to have at least one baby.
“That success rate is extraordinary, and I want that to get out there,” said Liza Johannesson, the medical director of uterus transplants at Baylor, who works with Testa and co-authored the study. “We want this to be an option for all women out there that need it.”
Six patients had transplant failures, all within two weeks of the procedure. Part of the problem may have been a learning curve: The study initially included only 10 patients, and five of the six with failed transplants were in that first group. These were “technical” failures, Testa said, involving aspects of the surgery such as how surgeons connected the organ’s blood vessels, what material was used for sutures, and selecting a uterus that would work well in a transplant.
The team saw only one transplant fail in the second group of 10 people, the researchers said. All 20 transplants took place between September 2016 and August 2019.
Only one other cohort study has previously been published on uterus transplants, in 2022. A Swedish team, which included Johannesson before she moved to Baylor, performed seven successful transplants out of nine attempts. Six women, including the first transplant recipient to ever deliver a baby back in 2014, gave birth.
“It’s hard to extract data from that, because they were the first ones that did it,” Johannesson said. “This is the first time we can actually see the safety and efficacy of this procedure properly.”
So far, the signs are good: High success rates for transplants and live births, safe and healthy children so far, and early signs that immunosuppressants — typically given to transplant recipients so their bodies don’t reject the new organ — may not cause long-term harm, the researchers said. (The uterine transplants are removed after recipients no longer need them to deliver children.) And the Baylor team has figured out how to identify the right uterus for transfer: It should be from a donor who has had a baby before, is premenopausal, and, of course, who matches the blood type of the recipient, Testa said...
“They’ve really embraced the idea of practicing improvement as you go along, to understand how to make this safer or more effective. And that’s reflected in the results,” said Jessica Walter, an assistant professor of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, who co-authored an editorial on the research in JAMA...
Walter was a skeptic herself when she first learned about uterine transplants. The procedure seemed invasive and complicated. But she did her fellowship training at Penn Medicine, home to one of just four programs in the U.S. doing uterine transplants.
“The firsts — the first time the patient received a transplant, the first time she got her period after the transplant, the positive pregnancy test,” Walter said. “Immersing myself in the science, the patients, the practitioners, and researchers — it really changed my opinion that this is science, and this is an innovation like anything else.” ...
Many transgender women are hopeful that uterine transplants might someday be available for them, but it’s likely a far-off possibility. Scientists need to rewind and do animal studies on how a uterus might fare in a different “hormonal milieu” before doing any clinical trials of the procedure with trans people, Wagner said.
Among cisgender women, more long-term research is still needed on the donors, recipients, and the children they have, experts said.
“We want other centers to start up,” Johannesson said. “Our main goal is to publish all of our data, as much as we can.”"
