𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬 ❀

(Head canons + backstory stuff + a lil sketch for my Jeffrey woods, I never really cared for Jeff so this isn't as in depth as the other characters I plan to write for) + I did include mentioning Jeff have bpd, I did my research but if at any point I fuck up please do correct me I appreciate it greatly
Tw: violence (its Jeff what did u expect), self harming habits, a lil bit of ick
not much changed regarding his past, he got into a fight and one bad birthday party later and this mf is barbeque 💔
Jeff growing up showed signs of bpd but was never treated until his late teens due to him acting impulsively (such as an attack with Troy) while being greatly attached to lui (who he genuinely loves btw)
Troy was in fact a dick in my au but he was never the one who instigated the fight, it was only after a few more encounters with Jeff and lui did he actively start targeting them
lui was pretty much Jeff's only friend for a majority of his life, Jeff has had friends before but most of the time it was reduced to knowing one another in school never outside, Jeff struggles a lot with social interactions almost always assuming the worst and being very explosive towards others over very small miscommunications
He is in a constant state of just pure worthlessness with the occasional moments he thinks he's amazing
His parents were pretty neglectful of him for a majority of his life by focusing on lui and never at any point being supportive of Jeff while he was in therapy due to them not risking others finding out and sinking there status within the gates community
Jeff has more wavy hair as a child and teen before majority of it was burnt off leaving him heavily disfigured, jeff had significant self harming habits (which he still carrys on even in his adult hood) and had attempted suicide before
After the murder of his parents and lui (which he had no idea survived) Jeff fled and remained homeless, usually staying in abandoned buildings and would end up stealing food or money from victims
Jeff considered himself a psychopath and in a way enjoyed the idea of scaring people away from him, by his personality or appearance
Jeff joining slender began when slender began seeking out people to work for him, Jeff was by no means planned and a surprise in the first place.
Jeff doesn't have much of a job regarding the mansion, due to him laying low on earth as many people know of him as a famous killer, due to footage found in a victims home as Jeff shows his disfigured face to the viewers watching.
Jeff is not as volatile as he was before, usually more calm and or relaxed due to drugs in his system along with alcohol
He has episodes which result in some form of violence, whether it's at himself, members of the mansion or victims they usually end on heavy bloodshed
Has scratched his face till it bleeds and uses rusty metal as to open his old wounds again and again.
He is genuinely terrified of fire, he refuses smoking because of it. At onr point Jane had planned an attack on him which involved burning him again, due to his immortality under slender he survived leaving his entire body burnt and most of his hair gone
Very foul mouthed, using vulgarity at all times and is just generally gross as a way to shield people away from him (usually done by dropping some sexist shit or fucking around and finding out)
He has a very surface level friendship with Ben, mainly because he's convinced the fucker couldn't be kind if it tried and in a way it sorta bonded them? (Cunt4cunt I guess??)
heres a lil half assed sketch I did of Jeff post fire as a teenager:

anyways that all (don't let this flop 🫶😞)

The Binding
Dude so good. Realistically for a movie they should get gay actors to play Emmett and Lucian, but I cannot help but imagine Tom Holland and Timothee Chalomet as the two of them. I mean does Tom Holland not scream an oblivous protective older brother farm boy? Plus Timothee with the sarcasm and sadness. Ugh.

Idk maybe it’s just me, but I think it’d be cute.
Either way if you haven’t read it you should.

Any chance the binding will have a sequel?
Hi! Thank you for asking, but I have no plans to write a sequel for The Binding. I used the epilogue to show snippets of their lives post-Hogwarts and I don’t have any more of their story to tell ❤️ thank you for reading and reaching out!

The Binding by Bridget Collins . What’s the last book you read that was outside of your usual genre? The Binding is mine! Magical realism isn’t far off from what I usually read, but it was a nice change 😊 It took a little while for me to get into, but it was a real page turner after that 📖 . . . #thebinding #bridgetcollins #bookcover #sprayededges #bookstagram #bookalicious #bookworm #bookaholic #purplebooks #bookobsessed #booklover #booksbooksbooks #magicalrealism https://www.instagram.com/p/B3fv4qoA4sS/?igshid=qwbpk7gd0tmt

Book Review: The Binding by Bridget Collins
Despite the old saying of not judging a book by the cover, the fact is that the cover is the first thing you see and therefore usually the first thing that attracts someone to a book. It isn’t necessarily the thing that makes me want to read the book, but it is often something that makes me want to look closer at it. In this case, it was the cover of this book that really grabbed me when it came into the store. After reading the cover blurb, it interested me enough that I decided to borrow it from the library.
Emmett Farmer is a bookbinder born, one with the ability to take away a person’s memories and bind them into a book. His mentor, Seredith, has taught him all aspects of the craft, to respect and honor the sacred calling of their gift. But there are others who do not share the old woman’s dedication and scruples. When she dies suddenly, Emmett is forced to take an apprenticeship with one of these amoral tradesmen. Just as Emmett begins to accept his new position he discovers a life-altering secret: there is a book with his name on it. What secrets it holds will impact not only Emmett’s future, but the future of the one he loves most as well.
I will say that The Binding wasn’t quite what I thought it would be. Despite the somewhat speculative fiction aspect of the story, it really is more of a story of forbidden love. While not usually my thing, this book entranced me. It drew me in and made me want to read more. I needed to know what happened next. I needed to know how things turned out. Its a book that had me cheering for a happy ending.
I did find the ending a little abrupt - it ties up the main story lines neatly but leaves things open for a potential sequel. Or, like life, open for you to imagine the next steps in the journey of our protagonists. I would definitely recommend this as an excellent choice for book clubs. It has a lot of good points for discussion and debate.

*NOW COMPLETE*
The Binding Chapter 35 Excerpt
Following tradition, Draco was facing the sunrise, his back turned towards Hermione. Off to the side, a band was playing string instruments, but the crowd and music faded away as she approached Draco, her heart hammering in excitement and anticipation.
Once she was three-quarters of the way down the aisle, Draco turned suddenly and the world slowed around her. His smile spread from his lips to his eyes and was warmer than the rising sun. He took several large steps, meeting her partway down the aisle.
“Dra—” Her protest was cut off by his lips capturing hers, his arms wrapping around her waist and lifting her up before placing her back on the ground.
“Beautiful,” he murmured under his breath. “You’re perfect.”
“And you’re early! You were supposed to wait!” she admonished with a grin, taking his offered arm as they continued down the aisle together.
“I’m done waiting for my witch.”

April 28th, 2019 || today is a defining moment for Spanish politics... and I’m hoping I don’t wake up tomorrow to a fascist government because I cannot believe we have to face this type of shit still in 2019 😔 . Anyways, today I bring you the READING WRAP-UP n° 5: books 20-24. . 🌻It’s Not Me, It’s You by Mhairi McFarlane. Cute and funny love story (7/10). 🌻Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. This was quite an interesting reading experience. Not sure exactly what to make of it but I enjoyed the experience (7.5/10). 🌻It’s Not About the Burqa, edited by Mariam Khan. My first 5 star reading of the year and deservedly so. Extremely powerful and informative. A massive eye-opener and one I recommend for sure (9.5/10). 🌻Bottled Goods by Sophie van Llewyn. This didn’t work for me at all and although it deals with such a horrible period of Romanian history I felt absolutely nothing and I feel awful about it. I was so detached from the story (4/10). 🌻The Binding by Bridget Collins. The marketing campaign for this one did us all dirty. I was promised a mystery/fantasy novel... did I get that? NOPE. I got a bloody romance and not even a well-written one. I mean, there is nothing wrong with a romance novel but for fuck’s sake, sell it as such. I was so angry while reading it and if it wasn’t because I had to read it for the owl’s readathon I would’ve dnfed it. There is not enough background and the characters lack depth. A very shallow story (1/10). . It’s kind of funny that in the same period of time I read the best book and the worst book of the year so far 😂 . . Hope you are enjoying your Sunday wherever you are 💕 • • • #readingwrapup #adayinbooklandreviews #itsnotmeitsyou #freshwater #itsnotabouttheburqa #bottledgoods #womensprize #thebinding #booksonbooks #fortheloveofreading #bookstack #stackofbooks https://www.instagram.com/adayinbookland/p/BwzE9YUn7ko/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=181wpf9rgv0it
