೭੧(❛▿❛✿)੭೨ | Another enjoyable day with some journalling at its work! Never really kept notebooks for personal dating, so I decided to turn my notebooks to a haven of anime and manga recommendations! Can’t wait to fill this with day to day love for my favorite shows and reads.

Pros of not being able to sleep: I am suddenly very productive. Working on my thesis becomes less daunting and more manageable. There are less distractions from social media and other obligations. The world is quiet. I am wide awake.

Cons of not being able to sleep: I am wide awake. It is finals week. I need every spare minute of sleep to survive long hours slaving over papers and reviewing textbook chapters. No one is awake to answer questions about my thesis. Working on one assignment leads to anxiety about finishing other assignments. It's 1:30AM.

I am tired, but oh so very awake.

This topic is really close to my heart. I’ve struggled with Depression for 4 years but I didn’t reach out for help until this year because I’ve been scared. It took a toll on me as a person and especially my grades.

good luck with your speech!! 

dw, i used to get super nervous for speeches too, but afterwards when you look back on it, it lasts all of 5 minutes, done! 

just make sure you memorise your speech as best as you can, 

speak slower than you normally would (because if you’re nervous then you always end up rushing anyway). 

Also, if you haven’t already needed to submit the speech transcript, brevity is the soul of wit; at university (as well as high school I suppose), they put a lot of emphasis on being concise and getting to the point, and making sure that you focus on the main points. 

If you feel like your speech is too hard to fit into the time limit, then it means you’ve written too much or not concisely enough!!

Remember also that a speech is not meant to be an essay, so there needs to be something that makes it like a spoken word oratory. If you don’t really have the art of speech writing down, as many students don’t, then just put a lot of rhetorical questions (lol that’s what i did)

Other than that, you can always try for the dramatic; people (including markers) almost always will give high marks even if you skim a bit on the analysis because they’ve heard so many freaking boring speeches over the years they’ll be falling over themselves for a dramatic speech.

Read a book. Or ten.

Sleep more than two hours a night.

Cry.

Drink water!!!

Keep refreshing the online application submission page to check for updates.

Drink some tea.

Go outside. Engage with the world.

CRY.

Pet a dog.

20th July: I made my college tuition and I can get creative writting! I’m super excited! I’m gonna stop the japanese for a while because I want to finish (and win) the Nano Camp.
